We enjoy living here. The office & maintenance staff are always friendly, professional, courteous, helpful. They are more often than not quick to resolve any issues/problems. Pet friendly & close to shopping place with close by access to I-20, TX Hwy 59, & US Hwy 180.

I like the community. I like my neighbors. I like the convenience in location. The local staff are good people. I suspect the corporate office keeps them from doing much for tenants.Edited 4/26/2021:The apartments themselves are nice. I would absolutely recommend them short term. But after almost 4 years of living here, I am worn out with how small the front office makes me feel and I do not recommend renting for an extended time.If you pay for covered parking, expect maintenance and contract workers to leave vehicles in your spot. If your A/C goes out, expect the front office to fake sympathy and tell you, at least its only March. (This happened in the first and second year of living here.)Its just been a lot of small things piling up and being dismissed when I try to speak up about it that frustrates me so much. And although you should expect not having a lot of control when youre renting instead of buying, I dont believe this warrants me changing my rating. 3 stars is what you should expect of a typical apartment complex and Southgate Glen is your typical apartment complex. It is an acceptable apartment complex that will perform the minimum for you.

This is a great place to live! My husband and I have lived here for about 9 months now and have loved every minute of it. All of our service requests are completed in a timely manner AND the maintenance crew ALWAYS cleans up after themselves which is a huge plus. The office staff is always very friendly and will address us by our names anytime we go into the office. Also, the parking is wonderful. I have never had an issue finding a place to park that is close to my apartment. I highly recommend Southgate Glen Apartments. Make sure to get the newly updated unit!

I lived here for a year before moving for my new job in July. I loved my experience at Southgate. The management/office staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very prompt in fixing any problems you had, the apartments were nice, and it felt very peaceful/quiet living here. If I didn’t move, I’d definitely continue to live at Southgate Glen! It was probably the best apartment experience I’ve had so far.

Even though I havent been here long I think everyone is very nice. The neighbors seem to be glad to introduce them selfs to me. And I am glad that this is a clean and took good care of community. You get maintenance done to fix any problem quickly, that I like.

Maintenance is superb! Dale, The maintenance directors knowledge and expertise is far above what you would expect for property management. Very professional and personable. Excellent customer service and just genuinely helpful and nice. He goes above and beyond.

I have been living here for two years and I have never had any issues with any of the staff. They always tend to any repairs that I request in a timely manner. The apartment complex as a whole is clean and well kept. The current management does a great job and their customer service is wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice, fun and safe community to live.

If I could rate this place with a negative star I would. Truly awful management at this complex. The maintenance workers are not qualified for their position at all, all the work in my unit looks like it was done by a child. Painted over chewed base boards, screws not even in studs. These apartments are not worth a fraction of what they’re listed for. The management will not get back to you with any concerns and will not provide a working number to reach upper level. These apartments are riddled with mold as in the pictures I’ve posted.

Kind of annoyed by their response to COVID-19. They stopped accepting packages, forcing residents to go into the post office to pick them up themselves. Which course of action increases exposure? Think about that for a while because they certainly didnt. They also had the audacity to suggest to residents that may be struggling with rent that they should use their government stimulus check. Theres a couple of things wrong with that: 1) bold to assume everyone is getting that money 2) the rent for most apartments wouldnt have been covered with the maximum amount a person could receive.Also, the front office can be pretty tacky with complaints. Oh? Your A/C isnt working right? Well thankfully it isnt that hot yet so you cant be that uncomfortable.Maintenance is super cool though. And its a nice community with great neighbors.BY THE WAY, the 5 star review by Tracy Bickel should not reflect the view of current residents. She works the front office.

Would recommend renting elsewhere.Quick reasons-Over priced for what you get-Has no trust for there tenants-takes a long time to settle issues-be ready to re-clean upon move in (not just a quick dust, it was really bad)-I honestly think they have little respect for there tenants and there issues.Here Is Our StoryMy wife and I lived here for one year and over the course of our stay we continually ran into problems. The apartment was not clean when we first moved in, we had to do a lot of work to make that place move in ready. When we first moved in we immediately discovered there was a terrible flee problem and when we went to the office to fix the issue they told us that the carpet was new and that it was not possible for there to be flees. Only after many phone calls and living with flees for almost two weeks they did finally clean our carpet. after that, everything else was relatively painless, we did find our self contacting maintenance at least once a week for issues as they came up for the first few months and early on the water heater went out and they had to come by four different times before it was fixed, each time they said its fixed when in reality they were just restarting it every time. After all this we decided to move out at the end of our lease and once we were all moved out we revised our security deposit back, originally we paid near $500 in security deposits (which is a lot) so when we only received $360.08 back i had questions. we were very careful to not allow pets into our apartment during our stay and they charged us almost $150 dollars for pet damages and when i confronted them about it I got the run around for almost two months before being told that nothing would be done about it because they dont believe me.

Stay Away. Unless you intend to stay forever.Purchased a house in the area and the builder is experiencing COVID delays. Myself and family of 5 needed a temporary rental and thank goodness for Southgate Glens short lease terms.Until they raise your rent by 20% in 3 months from $1490 to $1863 to go month to month. Literally got a notice less than a month after signing the original lease that this increase was coming. Unbelievable to not be upfront about that.Taking advantage of a family they know is not in a position to sign a long term lease. Way to go Management!

We were having problems with our garbage disposal, working occasionally; but also had a foul odor emanating from it. I brought the issue to the attention of management and after several attempts to rectify the situation the manager ordered a new one at the urging of her supervisor. As soon as the garbage disposal came in the manager called to schedule a time to replace the old one and it was done within hours of being delivered to the complex. We are ecstatic because not only do we now have a garbage disposal that works every time we need it, but also the foul odor left the apartment with the old unit!!

I wish I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS! This place is absolutely atrocious. The manager, Sonia, is condescending rude and one of the most disrespectful people Ive ever delt with. The office will never call you back, have to call 4 to 5 times just to speak to someone.This place does not keep records of deposits made. They have never given me proper documentation and they do not keep up with any paperwork. Because they do not make copies, update files or anything they blame me for their mistakes!I do not know how Sonia had a job. She is disrespectful, has hung up on me several times and had the audacity to raise her voice at me.Corporate needs to FIRE that woman.

Whatever you do!!! Do not stay here!! You would be better off living in the 7th circle of Hell. SONYA has no where near the customer service skills expected of any manager in her industry. As a business owner myself, I would fire her on the spot. Rude, incompetent, vindictive, and only looking for the easy way to do something. She has nearly hit me several times trying to be a race car driver in her golf cart. Shes has been EXTREMELY RUDE trying to give me a LEASE VIOLATION FOR NOT AGREEING WITH HER?!! That stopped real quick when I contacted her boss. Heres the real kicker. ONE OF THE MAINTENANCE GUYS CAME TO FIX SOMETHING IN THE APT, KICKED MY DOG LEAVING A BRUISE AND A DOG IN PAIN. SONYA OF COURSE, DIDNT BELIEVE ME, ESSENTIALLY CALLED ME A LIAR AND LAUGHED AT ME. I hope someone from corporate reads this and gets this disgrace of woman out of here. In the meantime, I hope to save someone from the disgusting woman and company.

Its really sad that the maintenance and office arnt even trying to clear the side walks considering that so many elderly people live here.. this is a resident that is out in the freezing rain putting deicer on their side walk.. talk about a law suit waiting to happen...
