I would go with Hedgefield Homes over and over again if we ended up building again. The communication was great. I went into it telling them I needed more communication than the normal person. Ryan was great at that. He got back to me and explained everything. I was so happy with that. Everyone at Hedgefield was wonderful to work with. I’d recommend them to anyone looking to build.

Building with Hedgefield was overall very low stress and I know that is often not the case with custom builders. We liked the fact that all decisions were made prior to building and how quickly issues were resolved and communicated. The quality of materials exceeded our expectations. We felt very welcomed with the Hedgefield team and very much part of the process.If we ever build a new house, we will use them again!

We are so happy with our home and cant thank the Hedgefield team for building our forever home!!! The design meeting went so smooth and was set up perfectly to make decisions easy. All meetings leading up to build start were great and helped work through all our options. it was amazing to see our home go from start to finish.We cant thank Hedgefield enough for our beautiful home! This was our first built and we were nervous about the entire process,but Hedgefield made it easy with their step by step process which they walk you through! Complete Honest Review from 2 year Homeowner:We are currently two years into our new Hedgefield home. The start of the process is great, and you have all the warm and fuzzies thinking you found a terrific builder for a good price… then it starts.The first issue we had and got a taste early on of how Brian the owner would handle things was on the 3rd set of prints and they had changed the finish material on the chimney from brick to siding without saying anything. I brought this up and Brian was quick to say it wasn’t priced like that and he would not be doing it because it would cost 3k (less than 1% of home cost).Move on to the build process, and hardly anything went correctly.1. The flooring was laid in the wrong direction throughout the whole house, even though it was marked on the prints.2. Walls were built that weren’t even supposed to be there (I had to take them down myself)3. The wrong smaller size door was put leading into the laundry room. (Had to take door off to get washer/dryer in)4. Only one of the two light fixtures was ever installed in the laundry room.5. They charged us 1200-1500 for a dogwash in the garage and never completed it. We ended up with a handheld sprayer on the wall and a platform under it built from plywood with no bath/sink.6. They charged us $7500 for the tile in the master bath and it is the worst tile job I have ever seen with 1/4” slivers of tile to fill in gaps because they didn’t start the tile in the correct spot Brian made excuses for the poor labor that didn’t make any sense to someone that understands construction.7. Brian also fought me tooth and nail to have the tile contractor put schluter strip edging at the edges of the master shower so that the raw cut edges of tile weren’t exposed (the superintendent Mike ended up having the tile contractor do it and told me not to mention it to Brian) .8. We have 9’ ceilings and Brian said they only priced the shower tile to go to 8’ so the top of our shower was going to have 1’ of drywall at the top, he would not budge on putting one more row of tile up there so I had to source the tile and tile it myself (our glass shower door goes to the ceiling so it needs tile the whole way).9. There is an extra random wall bump out in our garage because they did not put the plumbing in the correct spot so they just built an extra wall 4’ tall to cover it.10. The vinyl flooring was probably installed wrong because we are getting 1/4” gaps between pieces now.11. The backsplash in the kitchen is crooked and runs up hill.12. Our powder bath toilet is double the distance away from the wall behind it than it should be, guests have to reach behind them to get toilet paper (another plumbing position issue).13. They did not cut the access to the second floor attic until the very end and ended up just cutting a tiny square out inside one of the upstairs bedroom closets (no way to put the fold down stairs inside the closet so it’s useless).14. They never covered the first floor attic access that’s in the garage, just a huge open hole into our attic.15. The A/C and Heat must have been wired wrong, it constantly pops the breakers that are on the unit in the 2nd floor attic that has no way of getting into except climbing on the closet shelving to get through the tiny hole they cut as an after thought.Geez should I go on? It was a terrible experience and mostly fully because of how the owner of the company Brian handles and treats you as a client, he would rather you be unhappy and save himself a dollar than the latter.For context our home “started” at 242k we added options and upgrades up to 340k (not penny pinchers looking for a deal we wanted a nice forever home and we messed up picking Hedgefield).Yes Brian of course tried calling me after my first very early on review but to be honest the way he handled everything through the entire process, we were done going back and forth with someone who did not care how our home ended up in the slightest.I would not recommend Hedgefield Homes to anyone at all.

You can not go wrong with Hedge field home. They have done a great job of building my 🏠. Matt, Grisel and Ryan and every one are professional from start to finish. If I ever build another 🏠 on my other lots. I will call on the Hedge field custom homes again. Thanks for the great job

We had such a great experience with Hedgefield from start to finish. Ryan, our builder, was fantastic. He was very responsive and fixed pretty much any issues timely and correctly. I had 100% trust in him to take good care of us! And didn’t feel like we had to micromanage or double check their work. He was on it! So much attention to detail. Matthew was also involved during the whole process, start to finish. He was always a joy to work with and kept us updated as we went. Our house is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. I’m so happy we found Hedgefield!

I chose Hedgefield and would choose them again if I needed to build another home. I am a mechanical engineer working in new construction and renovations. My wife is a master planner who helps setup plans for construction projects including infrastructure and campus layouts for large projects. We have seen lots of different construction projects and seen what happens when they go well and when they go very poorly. Typically, it ends up costing the customer more money when it goes poorly. Things can go south for many reasons but a lot of it has to do with who is running the project. Hedgefield has the team, processes and experience to do the job right. They have the dedication and experience required to be successful in home building. They made it as stress free as possible. They provided invaluable help in finalizing design details. They offered a fixed price on the project. They allowed me to be as involved as I wanted to be. They worked efficiently. They resolved all the concerns I had before, during and after. They had third party inspections. Most importantly, I feel they have the integrity a company needs to do right by the customer.

We Love our new home!!! Hedgefield Homes was a wonderful partner, and we would recommend them to anyone wanting to build a new home. They assisted us with modifying one of their floor plans to better fit our needs.

Horrible company, would not recommend, there are too many other builders that are ethical and high quality for an affordable price. They’re unresponsive, the owner is very uninvolved and they seem to cut corners.

Hedgedfield Homes, you knocked it out of the park with your recently built town homes on Wayside Ave! I always like seeing the attention to detail you put into every home you build. I love the openness of each unit and the way you were able to incorporate so much natural light in the spaces. What an amazing location as well!

Heres the bottom line for you: Im not sure this is a new approach but a company that builds homes without surprises is rare and we need more builders like Brian.What makes Hedgefield truly stand out is the attention to detail and knowledge of the home building business.This company is NOT for people looking for the most affordable house around. But in my experience you get what you pay for and that means when you have that mentality you get surprises too.If you are building your house use Hedgefield if you want a better experience, its too big of a purchase to take chances.

Hedgefield built the home my family lives in now since 2017. We absolutely love ❤️ the house! We had a lot of general ideas and features we wanted in the home, but obviously without the budget to match. Hedgefield worked tirelessly to guide us along the path to prioritize our plan and get the end product we were happy with. Everyone that visits loves our home’s warmth and airy space, and our family relishes in being in our cozy home. Anytime you build a house it can be an overwhelming process, but Hedgefield made it as efficient and seamless as possible.

Great salesmen not great builders.Our home built by Hedgefield was finished earlier this year, and we wouldn’t use them again.They do not own up to mistakes made by any part of their team, if you fight tooth and nail they may fix the easiest of things to fix but most likely will not. They hired super low quality sub contractors and did not stand behind the higher quality they sell you the house on. We’ve now been living in the home over 3 months and there are still things they just never came back to finish, so now I’m spending double the money to complete the things they should have the first time.

As my wife and I pursue building our “forever” home we’ve had the opportunity to communicate with more than a few custom home builders. What we’ve found is that a lot of these builders miss a critical aspect of doing business and that is timely communication with potential customers. I am pleased to recommend Hedgefield Homes as a welcome exception to this. Matthew was always there to answer our questions and take the time to make sure we understood the process. **update** We have been living in our home for over two years now. After going through two Texas summers and the recent winter storm, I can say the home has excellent insulation! They put spray foam in our home and it has helped significantly on our electric use. This home is 50% larger than our last home but we are using 1/2 the electricity KWH due to the excellent insulation!**original review**: We closed on our Hedgedield home 2 months ago. This is our second time buying a house and I can say this experience was a dream compared to our first. Brian was so easy to work with and accommodating during the closing process. They stand behind their product 100% and always work to make things right. Since we have moved in they have continued to offer great service and quickly address all concerns and minor issues that come up. They are always prompt to reply and address concerns. We could not be happier with the quality of our home and the exceptional customer service we have experienced from Brian and Colin!

Hedgefield Homes and Brian Carlin deliver an exceptional product. Their custom homes are way above par and they deliver on their promise. You are getting a custom home without the inflated custom price.

My experience, was non responsive on their end, only pushed for communication when a deadline you arent aware of was fast approaching or they would raise prices. They purposefully dragged their feet on their end because costs were rising and the price you locked in was way to cheap for what they could deliver in that market. Poor business practices regardless. I. Do. Not. Recommend.

Hedgefield homes are the best! Whenever we had an issue like a broken shower rod, Brian and his team made sure to fix it right away. They are the best landlords out there!!!
