Since moving into this apartment complex two years ago, the property has experienced a significant increase in crime. Residents frequently face vehicle break-ins and thefts, including license plates being stolen. Under the new management, the quality of the complex has drastically declined.When I first moved in, the complex boasted a 4.8-star rating. Now, it has dropped to a 4.0 and will likely continue to fall. There is nothing luxurious about this place. The gym equipment is constantly broken, the pool is often dirty or closed, and the gate rarely stays secured. Dog waste is a common sight around the property, and recent reviews highlight a severe roach infestation.The current manager, Danielle, is the most unprofessional manager Ive encountered in my 10 years of renting. She falsely accused me of creating a disturbance when I simply asked questions, initially responding but then refusing to answer. Luckily, I recorded my interaction with Danielle.Additionally, I had a courtesy officer knocking at my door at 11 PM, looking for someone who was smoking weed. Recently, there were gunshots that woke a lot of people up at five in the morning. This complex is grossly overpriced and poorly maintained. I strongly advise looking elsewhere for a home. Below, I have attached photos to provide a clearer picture of the conditions here.I also experienced someone trying to steal my Tesla and attempting to set my truck on fire. Over the past year and a half, crime has increased significantly, and nothing has been done to address it. Recently, the complex went without maintenance staff and a courtesy officer, and during a hurricane, many residents were left without power or any support from the apartment complex. Just a heads up. Look at the negative reviews – they tell the truth about this apartment complex, whereas the positive ones are likely from friends of the management.
We have lived at Hawthorne since October of 2021, and I absolutely love it here! This community is incredibly family-friendly and always hosts events for the kids. They truly go out of their way to make everyone feel special. Over the time Ive lived here, weve experienced two pregnancies, and both times, the management surprised us with thoughtful baby gifts, which was such a kind gesture.Hawthorne also hosts monthly events that bring the community together, allowing us to interact and spend time with our neighbors. The amenities are fantastic – our son loves spending time at the park and pool, and my husband and I enjoy the game room where we can play pool and relax by the grill outside. Overall, it’s been a wonderful place to live, and I’m grateful for the sense of community and care we experience here.
I didn’t think I had to leave this review because my first impression was great but they quickly turned into this.I recently applied, was able to get approved. I was sent my lease to get signed and once I had a question about my lease. I emailed the manager, no response, waited a few days and sent a follow up email and still nothing… called the office and no answer.They basically ghosted me and leaving me with no option but to have to look for another place.Absolutely unacceptable, especially because I was working with the manager of this property throughout the entire application process.I ended up emailing them and letting them know that due to the lack of communication from their end, I had to move forward with another property. And even then, no type of response.Now not sure if this is the example the property manager is setting for leasing agents there, but if so, I hope they are lead with better training.
We’ve had an amazing experience at Hawthorne at Crenshaw! The entire staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we need. Danielle was very helpful when we moved in and was always so nice when we go to the leasing office. They really go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. The community events are always fun and a great way to meet neighbors, which really makes you feel like part of a community. The amenities are top-notch, and we loved spending time at the pool and fitness center. It’s such a welcoming environment, and we felt at home from day one. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to live!
I have resided in this community for the past three years and am thoroughly satisfied with my experience. The staff, particularly Danielle K, is exceptional in their promptness and dedication to resolving issues. The community is welcoming and inclusive, and the atmosphere is vibrant and engaging. The property’s convenience and accessibility to the beltway makes for easy commutes. Additionally, there are a variety of dining and shopping options located nearby.
So expensive for such horrible issues. Crime, gate always open, roaches, pool never cleaned. Everything that goes wrong the front office doesn’t seem to care because they constantly get complaints from residents and are just tired of dealing with their own clients problems I guess. Beginning of 2024 the place was nice, but now at this point this place is not even close to worth the amount paying in rent. New policy where you have to register your cars is such an inconvenience when you have people over and risk them getting their cars towed. Have to ask my friends/family information about their cars just for them to be able to stay. Too much hassle of an apartment complex and too much stuff to worry about instead of being able to relax in your own home! Not worth it!
ROACHES:Ive lived in 6 apartments hands down worst living experience here at Hawthorne. ROACH infested buildings, doesnt matter how clean you are you will have roaches. The pest control they hire is lazy, bad attitude and doesnt do a good job. I had to spend my own money many times to protect my home after several failed attempts from management to correct the issue. I was killing from 10-30 roaches a day on average.ATTITUDE & UNSECURED PROPERTY:Management is very passive aggressive, especially Danielle, the more you submit complaints the more she goes out her way to not help you it seems like. It seems they are never working when I come in the office, but for some reason never answer emails or answers their phone. I had a broken garage door for 6 months they never corrected it, instead of fixing it they made it their mission to accrue any charges from me they could. Adding false charges at move out, finding reasons to come by my apartment to catch me in violation of the lease, Im embarrassed to even say i lived here. With all that I still had a broken garage door that they were charging me full price for. You would think theyd have humility to discount it since it was inoperable. But, of course money hungry landlords dont do that. My things were left unsecured and with the break ins, that made me uneasy.BREAK INS, PESTS, GARBAGE, DOG POOP everywhere. Only thing they do consistently is mow the lawn and thats to look good to potential residents. They turn into snakes as soon as you sign the lease.SANITATION:Once my lease was signed Danielle gave me attitude within my first week of move in, called me a sir when Im clearly female, unsure if that was to be funny because Im lesbian? I had a gross rotten egg smell coming from my sinks first day at move in and she gave me attitude. I just politely asked them to correct the issue.Oh and the water will break you out here, tastes and smells metallic but that may just be a city issue.FINAL THOUGHTS:If you can afford actual luxury do so. Seems like a bunch of high schoolers running the office. This place isnt worth the money or fight. The good reviews must be fake or from their favorite tenants Im sure they give special treatment to.
More crime and nothing is being done about it. Office staff is very rude and unprofessional to say the least. But yet we pay a lot of money to live here, but our concerns are not valid or important. Cars are on bricks, pool concrete is a green snd water is dirty, gates are non functional the majority of time allowing any unwanted guest in, Danielle, Alexis and Corporate office could care less about your concerns or safety or your belongings. Think twice before coming here and making this your home. It’s not worth your hard earned money. This message is just to educate you and to make you aware.
Ive been living here for a couple weeks now, and everything is great, Indira has been really helpful from the start! From giving me and in-depth tour of the property to answering all of my questions. Indira made the move in process so easy, explained everything to me and went over everything I needed for me and my dog to move into this beautiful property! I had the pleasure of visiting Hawthorne at Crenshaw recently, and I was blown away by the experience! The property is immaculate, with beautifully landscaped grounds and top-notch amenities that make it feel like a resort. The apartments are spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed to cater to all your needs.Alexus, the property manager, was fantastic. She was incredibly welcoming and took the time to give me a thorough tour of the property. Her knowledge and enthusiasm about the community were evident, and she answered all my questions with patience and clarity. Alexus’s professionalism and warm personality made a lasting impression on me.If you’re in the market for a new apartment, I highly recommend giving this place a visit. You won’t be disappointed!
Danielle was an AMAZING tour guide for us this evening with the most amazing energy. After touring apartment complex’s all day we were feeling a bit discouraged and Hawthorn At Crenshaw felt like a breath of fresh air. Danielle took her time even with technical difficulties out of her power, to get to know us and our needs. We brought our 2 year old with us and she even stoped with us to talk about the complex by the playground which was just perfect for us and our son. The complex and the floor plans are beautiful and Danielle made our experience even better. Can’t wait to hopefully move here in the coming months.
I recently visited this apartment complex for the first time, and I have to say, the lack of lighting at the entrance is unacceptable. There are no lights to guide visitors or residents as they enter, and the design requires a quick turn through the gate that’s nearly impossible to navigate in the dark.Because of this poor setup, I couldn’t see clearly and ended up hitting the curb, which caused extensive damage to the front end of my vehicle. Now I’m left paying out of pocket for repairs due to something that could easily have been prevented with adequate lighting.This is ridiculous and unsafe, not just for drivers but for anyone walking in the area as well. This complex needs to prioritize the safety of its residents and visitors by adding proper lighting to the entrance. Until then, I strongly caution anyone visiting or considering living here.

The pool is still green and has maintained this consistent murky green throughout the summer. I question your statement of “pride in the community”. No, the pool is not maintained and cleaned daily. Yes, a maintenance man will walk around the pool on Monday, scrub a few heavy spots, throw a few more bags of chemicals and walk away. They never test the water daily. You can tell by looking that your current cleaning and treatment practices are not working. Residences have addressed their concerns to management and only get excuses. Yes, we have had some heavy rain in the last week. However, the remainder of the summer had records low amounts of rain. Yes, the pool gets used by residents. Yes, it has been extremely hot. But those should not be excuses. You should be planning to handle those factors with more maintenance. Neighborhood pools get more use and look much cleaner than ours. The pool is only 4 feet deep and you can barely see the bottom. So please stop blaming or giving excuses and spend the time to maintain your pool properly. To be honest, when we first moved in, the pool was kept beautifully maintained. That is also when they had different management. I can say that the first time I saw maintenance spend a reasonable amount of time scrubbing the pool this summer was right after my Google review last month. So, if that is what it takes to maintain a pool, I am happy to keep sharing honest reviews with pictures until the pool stays clean.Past Review July 2022:I love my apartment and community but I’m so disappointed with the maintenance of the property. Maintenance moves very slowly. Im not sure if they are short staffed or just lacking in management. Trash is always found around the grounds and property. All the apartment management will do is send out multiple letters regarding the litter. Yet no real action is taken to remove the trash that is rolling on the ground and outside the front doors of our apartment. Even worse, the apartment would have a beautiful pool if they just maintained it. The pool is constantly dirty. I have been here for over a year and have never once seen maintenance vacuum the pool. The staff is inexperienced in maintaining a clean and sanitized pool. The PH levels are always off creating a constant algae problem. They believe this can be fixed by throwing in bags of shock but since the PH is not maintained, the algae is back within one day. These images were taken one day after the apartments shocked the pool for their community pool party. Since the PH is not maintained one day later, the pool is green yet again. I can not even begin to share about all the debris floating in the pool. The apartment will blame everything on the community when the truth is it is a major lack of maintenance. Besides a few residents, most are respectful of the property and dont trash the amenities. If the pool party was hosted and chaperoned by the office staff, why is the pool green one day later? All the office will do is close the pool and throw in more bags of shock to make the water blue again. They wont ensure the pool pump is properly running enough hours, the chemical balance is maintained, and the pool walls and floors are scrubbed and vacuumed daily until the algae are no longer returning. Its just disappointing. I wont be renewing my lease.
I’ve lived here for less than 2 weeks. Since moving into this apartment I have killed 41 roaches (I killed 17 roaches my first night). Within the first week the AC went out. Upon move in the apartment was dirty. This included baseboard, doors, cabinets, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. There were dishes left from the previous tenant in the dishwasher. Sinks in both bathrooms were leaking, master bath sink leaks so bad it leaves a puddle under the sink, no shower drain cover in guest bath, outlets in guest bath don’t work, washer was half full of water upon move in (none of these issues have been addressed). Management is stating that there is currently only one maintenance person, but has made promises for the past 2 days that these issues would be addressed and they haven’t been. They did treat for roaches 3 days after I reported there was an issue, but I am still killing at least 3-4 roaches a night after treatment. My biggest issue is that they allowed me to move into an apartment that was not move in ready. It was dirty, roach infested, with plumbing and AC issues. The solution they originally offered me was moving into another unit in the same building! Obviously I wouldn’t want to move into the same building since this building is clearly infested with roaches. Now my other option is to move into another unit with a different floor plan in a different building. Management was nice at first, but it’s obvious that the more I complain, the more frustrated they become. The only person who should be frustrated is me. I haven’t even been able to stay in the apartment for the full 2 weeks since moving in because of all these issues. If I could give this place 0 stars I would based on my experience since moving in and the overall quality of the unit itself and the apartment complex as a whole.
EDIT: DO NOT MOVE HERE if you like to use candles or incense. apparently “every single unit around us” has complained “every single day” and now they are threatening a lease violation. but guess what two words aren’t even in our lease contract? candles, incense.this place sucks the most ass ever. hopefully room spray doesn’t go through the “thin walls” they claim to have. (1/31/25) (btw we have been living here 3 years and our lease is up soon… never had an issue this entire time. feels like we’re being pushed out so they can charge someone more for our unit)hurricane hit (7/08/24) and our building has been without power for 4 days (7/11/24) and our leasing office is denying help. they won’t allow us to use an extension cord for a window unit, even though heat index has reached 100+. they are not helping with food spoilage, or a place to stay even though the entire rest of the complex has had power for 2 days (7/9/24). they will not give us updates about when we might possibly get power, unless we call the office several times. they have started ignoring my emails. NEVER RENT FROM HERE. if disaster strikes, they don’t care :)

I have lived here for half year, and it has been an amazing experience. I cannot thank the property staff enough for all the work that they do. Their customer service is superb. They really go above and beyond. I always get a call back to follow up on anything that I need; they are really good at communicating both good or bad news. My unit is spacious, I never had issues with anything, and it’s quiet. They pick up the trash and the amenities are always clean. I read a few reviews here, and I would like to clarify that crime doesn’t have an address. It is not management’s fault that some people have no respect for other people’s property. It’s not fair to blame them or anyone about it, but the criminal. I am very happy and proud of where I live, and I will definitely renew my lease. I encourage anyone to come and be part of my experience.
Warning ‼️ don’t move here. Front office Danielle and her GM Alexis are very unprofessional people. Corporate office needs to get involved, but they haven’t so that tells u a lot. Crime is horrible here and they don’t care. Vehicles broken into, shots being fired, cars on blocks, etc. And they don’t care to keep residents or give incentives at all. People leaving positive reviews is a fake. It’s horrible here and expensive !!
I lived here for 4 years now and Alexis, Danielle, and Yadira have been kind and helpful when weve had any issues. Mr. Jason, who does maintenance here is always greets you with a smile and a wave and most importantly always on top of his game.
I’m starting out my second year here and I love it!! We play at the park often, and the pool is nice to relax (or not) with the kiddos!

I absolutely love Hawthorne at Crenshaw! They’re apartments are beautiful, the front office and maintenance are always on top of it and the grounds are always so well kept! 10/10 recommend. And if you do want to check it out, Alexus in the front office is the absolute best ever! She’ll take care of you!
We just moved into our apartment with the help of Indira! So far we love the complex and that they’re pet friendly, can’t wait for our new journey here! The management has all been so helpful and nice during the process but specifically Indira, she’s helped us with making it a stress free and easy moving experience!
This my second year here at this complex. As time goes on, there seems to be more and more issues. Maintenance is usually quick to fix things inside my apartment. However, when there are other issues outside, Im noticing a lack of commitment to a swift fix.People do not pick up after their pets, even after several threats go out to start sending fines to tenants who do not comply with this rule.My latest issue was the install of a new light directly outside my unit. Could not even go on the balcany because of the intensity. This was fixed half-way by adding a cover to the top.Now the gate issues. The exit is extremely slow to open, as well as the entrance. The code system to dial is unreadable and currently not working. The solution is to walk up from my unit and let guests in until it is fixed. Once, I had to get out and help the gate open all the way. Other times I wait at the gate with my key fob trying to get it to open.Most of the time, vehicles just follow one another in and there is no telling who actually lives here. Cars drive thru the exit after a vehicle leaves to get in and vise versa.The response most of the time from the front office, is we just sent the repair today, waiting to hear back when I bring up an issue. When some of these issues have actually been ongoing.Im hoping some of this changes soon.
Stayed there for couple of years, it was nice at first but went to worse and worst gradually. Their gate is never working and always open which lets anyone enter and loiter around. Main reason of the car break ins there. They notified us of the break ins in another apartment being nice and suggesting people to watch out but they kept multiple break ins within the apartment secret. I get to know them from the neighbors themselves who had a break ins. The last few months we were there was the worst, they never fill the coffee machine and cups and always told that vendor is coming soon. One small rain and trash service is out. Somebody broke the table tennis and grills by the gazebo. Nobody picks the dog poop so better stay away from the dog park side if you have to stay there. The pest control is the worst, they go in the carpeted area with the nasty shoes, and it’s not really efficient. The maintenance guys are cool and responsive though if you have any issue.EDIT: I do not know how they are able to do it, but they always find a sneaky way to delete the worst rating. I am not sure when will my rating go away. Advice: Research on this place around different platform and see what people are saying

My wife and I have lived here in building 15 for a couple years now, and I can confidently say that this is the BEST place I have ever rented. Everything from the apartment quality themselves, to the management, to the maintenance team, and the other features like the pool, work out space etc. Its ALL A++. I could go on and on about some key experiences I had here explaining why living here is so good.The management is top notch and they really care about the residents. I love how over the years they have done little get togethers for residents or even little goody bags for your pets, given out breakfast at the gate as you leave for work etc. They go above and beyond with these things and it really makes a huge difference. Ive never known another complex to do anything near as much as they do. Also if you submit a maintenance request almost always its completed by the end of the day. The workers that they have here are amazing and friendly and always do an amazing job.After a couple years of living here Im sad to be moving to a different state, I wish I could just stay! Highly highly recommend that you make the Hawthorne at Crenshaw your next home.
I should write this. Living in Hawthorne at Crenshaw has been the best experience I have had in an apartment complex. Since the very beginning, I was received with my family in such a kind and pleasant way that without a doubt we moved. Danielle, Alexus, the whole staff... what a professional team! Last Sunday was our last day living there, but we moved due to a wonderful reason. Otherwise, I would continue living there like in a Paradise, because they work very hard to keep you in love with the place you are living. My family and I were packing to move out and it was impossible not to cry, because this type of complex with the activities, the community, the staff in charge, the maintenance team (Jackson, you are so valuable!), the design, the landscape, the convenient location, the beautiful and elegant apartments; builds an attachment. My son told me, mami, Im gonna miss this place a lot, please take my a photo in every place of this apartment!!. Indeed, every memory there, inside and out, brings a smile to our faces and deeply in our hearts. Thank you Danielle, Alexus, all of you working there, because you are marking peoples lives doing such a wonderful job!!!

From touring to moving in, the staff at Crenshaw at Hawthorne has been top notch! Danielle is super friendly and willing to answer all the questions. Alexus & Tannah have also been super helpful is answering my questions and willing to help me when learning about the various amenities on the property. My unit is very nice with modern appliances and hardware. The community is quiet, clean, and friendly.
Iv toured many properties, but hawthorn was exceptional in all aspects. It seems like they really care about their residents with all the events I heard about. Specifically the wine tasting I’m looking forward too. Alexus was very knowledgeable & professional. I cannot wait to move in this year!
First off, I would like to say how welcoming Cassandra was from the time we walked in to tour the community, she is truly awesome! her customer service is exceptional. I have not had one single issue since the time I moved In. my apartment is so beautiful and worth every penny. I could not be more happier with our decision to move here. The complex is so peaceful, quiet and every neighbor we have run into are always so nice! I feel so safe walking alone to my apartment coming from work, grocery etc and that says A LOT. Thanks to the front office staff and maintenance for making us feel right at home. You guys are doing so great!
Friendly and helpful office staff and the amenities are really nice, tons of area to relax and grill etc. Pool is very resort style and gym is huge. My friend has lived here for years and maintenance has always taken really good care of her needs. Lots of fun resident events too! Definitely recommend.

I wouldn’t recommend living here if you enjoy any sort of peace and quiet. Of course multi family housing is never perfect and some noise is inevitable, but our neighbors are relentless and have stopped at nothing to make us miserable here. I wouldn’t have an issue leaving a good review for this place if the office had actually helped us and worked with us, but no. We have sent countless videos of the noise from our neighbors, as well as videos of what our neighbor does when we report them to the police and the front office. We have lived here since last August and the office has been aware of this ongoing issue since October and still, nothing has been done. We have even taken it a step further and contacted someone in the corporate office, but they didn’t do anything either. We were told by both corporate and an office staff member that one of their personnel actually has to witness the said noise and that video footage isn’t enough. We cannot wait to get out of here when our lease ends so we can actually enjoy our lives without our baby constantly being woken up and our ceilings/walls rattling and shaking. We pay almost $1600 a month to be completely MISERABLE. We have never missed a payment and we are always on time. We do our due diligence as residents and have never caused any problems, so I’m not sure why we can’t be met with a little kindness and compassion for our situation. I urge you to not live here unless you like paying extremely high prices and having a leasing office that doesn’t try to remedy a serious issue.
This is my 1st apartment in Pasadena, TX since July 2018. I really like it here, overall great move-in experience. Extremely friendly Manager Amanda and staff who are easy to work with and always very helpful.No parking issues and it does not flood here thank God!...I have a washer and dryer in my Apt too!.The maintenance staff is responsive, respectful and kind. They go above and beyond just helping you...
Recently had some repair needs. The maintenance gentleman came out that same day and took care of the problems. I mentioned something in my bathroom and he checked that. He had urgent needs to attend to and said he would be back by the end of the day. True to h is word, he came back and corrected that as well. I love these apartments. Quiet, wonderful neighbors, excellent maintenance, the best front office staff. Just love living here!

She is so kind, friendly, and definitely went out of her way helping me find the right floor plan, as well as showing me the available ones . She is truly a blessing to the apartments. Nice apartment. It was only a year old at the time so it was expected that the unit be nice and low maintenance.Unfortunately, the move out experience completely makes me regret ever signing a lease at this complex. For my move out, I was given a quote for the last month and I took out a money order with given quote with a little extra just in case. I show up the morning that the last day rent is due and wait for 20 minutes. Cleaning ladies were there but the door was locked. I left so that I could make it to work on time (I had customers waiting). Apparently the manager was there and blamed me for not having knocked on the door, so it was up to me to make it back to the complex to pay rent before they closed or it would be late and I would owe fees. I own a business, and closed early (lost revenue) so that I could make it back to pay rent and avoid late fees. I was furious but I did it and apologized for being angry with the staff member earlier.A month in a half later I get a call from a debt collector saying I owe $800. I received nothing in mail even though I left a forwarding address. No explanation of what I owe or why I owe it. After talking to the complex they said I owe a late fees because what I wrote was not enough in the money order even though I went based of what was quoted to me. I even provided proof of the quote to the complex through the email THEIR STAFF SENT. I was told I would get a call about the situation. I have not received a call and if I wait I will be reported to the credit bureau and my hard work that gave me good credit will be for nothing. So its either pay $800 of which I do not owe the entirety, or have my credit suffer.It would have been nice if the staff would take responsibility for their errors and get them fixed. Instead I got resistance and no help. I own a business and this is not how I treat my clients. The staff was nice until they made mistakes and could not answer to me or fix the problems. These things can affect people for the rest of their lives. With school and work over the years, I have lived in over 8 different apartments, and this has NEVER happened. I have always paid my rent and if I owe anything when I move out I pay it in full and timely. But This complex was charging me incorrectly and there is nothing I can do about it. It has been a nightmare and I will have to suck it up and lose money that I do not owe.$1500 a month for a year paid on time for a year and this is how I get treated. I hope the staff reads this and understands how their incompetence can affect people and that closing up for the day does not mean their mistakes and inability to solve problems all of sudden go away.
I am in the apartment searching prosses. I toured this apartment a few weeks ago. I liked the floor plan but was hesitant when I saw the green pool. I asked the agent about the pool. The agent told me it was a one-time thing that was in the process of being fixed when they replaced the pool drain in a few days. This explanation sounded understandable since things do break. My top apartment choices were the Grand Crenshaw and this apartment, so I decided to drive by both apartments on a Saturday. I was surprised to see the pool still green. What was more shocking was children were swimming in it. I got off my car and spoke with some of the residents. According to them, the pool is always green. I will be renting elsewhere.

Been here for over a year and I have never lived in a better community. From Downtown and the galleria, this community is more focused on you the tenant and less on trying to cover its own faults. The gym is consistently being used and the individuals using it take care of it , the pool area is super clean, and the rest of the common areas are always cared for. If something is out of order, its usually fixed by maintenance asap.
There is a difference at Hawthorne vs other apartments around the area. The staff are friendly, helpful and really do care about their residents feeling at home. Things break over time and Ive seen they’re quick to resolve the issue. The office staff are attentive to concerns when brought to their attention.
I absolutely love it! My husband and I have looked at about 4 apartment complex before we came here and let me tell you it was nothing compared to Hawthorne at Crenshaw! From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience! Great staff. Very nice and clean! Hailey provided great customer service as well as August. Hailey took us on a tour and I immediately fell I love! I told my husband that this was it and I wanted to move in! It is a great location, very close to many great places and to top it off is that THEYRE NEW! Weve been here going on a month and we love it! I absolutely love my apartment! If you are looking for a place to live, I highly recommend Hawthorne at Crenshaw!
I absolutely fell in love with this place. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I met with August and she took her time to show us around and made us feel wanted to be there. To be honest, I looked at 4 apartments before I went here and I told my fiancee, I WANT TO LIVE HERE. The complex is beautiful, the apartments are gorgeous, and the staff is AMAZING, especially Mrs. August. I will be in the process in moving in by the end of October. I f you are looking for an apartment, I highly recommend this place and schedule an appointment with Mrs. August. They are still building, I mean it is a NEW complex. Obviously there is going to be noise in the AM, so if you are NOT a morning person you might want to think about waiting until they are finished building. :)
The leasing office and all of the employees are absolutely fantastic. If that’s not enough to make you want to stop by, just a look at one of the units will make you want to make this place home. Beautiful amenities, like the 24 hour cyber cafe and an AWESOME gym! All of our neighbors have been so friendly, and you can just feel how great this Hawthorne community is.
0 stars. The management is fraudulent and will charge you extra without you knowing. My boyfriend signed a lease here stating his rent would be $1400 a month but it was always more. $1600. He signed a 6 month lease due to traveling for work and when it was time for the lease to be over he was told that he signed a 12 month lease and he asked to speak with the lady he signed his contract with. He was told that she quit due to scamming people. Anyways, he still wanted to cancel the lease and was told it’d be 3k+ to cancel which he ended up paying. Out of nowhere later he sees that there was a collection on his credit when he called they had no proper explanation as to what it was and he was charged another 2.5k. So it was literally almost 6k to move out of his apartment. Do not recommend this apartment to anyone. Horrible management. Horrible communication. Money hungry.
I stayed at the Hawthorne with my friends for a few weeks and loved the location and staff! The staff are super friendly and take time to make sure youre well taken care of. The pool desk is awesome!! Fire pit zone equally epic. The Billiards room is nice and they got a nice table to challenge your friends. Gymnasium is a good size and has a lot of equipment and stations to chose from. Complex is secure and the loss prevention-security staff are cool! Management team is awesome as well! Its also centrally located near shopping retail malls, H-E-B stores, hardware shops, and the local hsopital. Fantastic location!
This is a great place to live! The people in the office are professional and go out of their way to help us with whatever we need. The maintenance team takes care of us whenever we need anything too. We like the social events they plan for us and we have great neighbors. We love all of the amenities too.

We lived in this community about a year because we had lease agreement. community is relatively new has a nice swimming pool also. Since this community is in Pasadena we specifically asked about neighborhood industries and management told us that there is no chemical industry next to the community. We also verified using google map and didn’t find anything so signed the lease.When we moved it started getting bad odor every now and then. When we spoke to the management they told us that there is a animal nutrition company next door and they are working on it. We requested to change the apartments because we have kids and odor from next building. Management reluctant to listen us with no response. We tried ourself contacting authorized agencies with no success. Solids even built on handrails over the night and it smells like dog poop.We lived because of economic burden and wouldn’t able to move . We gave notice and moved from there . We got bill of $700 charges for stove top and cleaning with pictures. We cleaned the apartment as as we can and explained them with no response. Gas tip just goes bad due to quality of the equipment. They charged $500 for that. I’m just giving one star because there is no option for big zero.
I have been living here about 2 months now and I absolutely love this place. I looked around at several locations including pearland and league city areas and this is by far the best. They have wonderful spacious layouts and amazing prices. The granite countertops, wood floors, and stainless steal appliances are beautiful. I have a layout with white cabinets and they are gorgeous. The staff are great as well, super friendly and will help with anything. They have an easy to use online portal for residents where you can pay for your lease and submit maintenance requests. The salt water pool is great and all the residents that are there are cool as well. Everyone is so welcoming and they have social events that are even fun for the kids. It’s gated and safe. Extremely clean property with professional staff. Always plenty of parking, and they even have Stockwell and Luxer One. If you’re looking for an apartment this is it. I’m happy to call this place home.
(So pros and cons)Pros: the community is very nice, people are nice, staff is awesome and very helping, maintenance fixes apartment issues promptly. The pool area is very nice. parking is pretty sufficient except on the weekends smh. Lol. Computer area is very helpful and the grills around the community are very efficient.Cons: The community smells of poop often, it is very overwhelming coming from the dog park inside the community. Not enough poop disposal stations for people walking their dogs around the community to just get a bag and dispose of the poop. The TV’s around the chill areas and grilling areas never work, it’d be nice to see some RV while grilling, the billiard table sticks are messed up so no point in playing billiards. It would be also nice if a trash can was placed by the mail to dispose of junk mail. Not everyone wants junk mail. Just a thought as well.
Worst piece of crap, don’t waste your money. Along with the most unprofessional staff you will ever meet.
I came here because of the reviews and this place checking all the boxes on my list, but mainly I came here on the recommendation from Marquis at Hawthorne in LaPorte. Initially had a great experience until the day of move in! We had already paid our deposit, and had credit approval, etc. The day of move in, we were told we wouldnt be able to move in because of a miscalculation on their end. My roommate and I were tossed around and had no place to stay as a result! One of the worst experiences Ive ever encountered. Our deposit refund literally took two months to get back to us as well! We were given the run around over the phone, and forced to go in person to receive our refund even when they initially said it would get mailed!
DO NOT fall prey to the offers they give you they will definitely charge you a lot after your stay. They charged us $450 just for some stains on stove top which was super hard to get rid off. Come on It’s a glass top and after frequent no. of use due to heat it made some spots. Apart from that it’s not a safe place to live in and the management is not good. It’s a stinky place we were not able to open our balcony door due to bad odor coming from the factory that makes dog food right besides the community. Sometimes you cannot take kids to the playground because of bad smell. Very disappointed with this place. Just don’t go on the looks of the apartment they offered us 1 month free rent and later charged us for everything even if we made our best to keep the apartment clean along with the gas stove top before leaving. Worst place to stay and dealing with management.
No option for 0 stars. Where to begin. 1st our apartment (and 2 others) was broken into & no additional security measures were taken by management moving forward. We had to sleep with a board and trash bag nailed to our door because of the glass being broken. When we called to get additional info about the burglary the manager told us she has a lot to do because she has to get back to all of the other concerned residents who were emailing her about the break ins. HELLO. We were the ones broken into - you’d think we’d be first priority. Just so happened the break ins occurring during preventative maintenance while everyone’s alarms were off. As if it wasn’t enough that we lost EVERYTHING value able to us and endured the heartbreak of sentimental items that cannot be replaced being stolen, they now want to charge us an additional $3000 to move out one month prior to our lease term. We wouldn’t be breaking it if we felt safe here and didn’t have a medical emergency to tend to out of state. They have found someone else to rent the apartment during this last month so they’re already getting a deposit and a months of rent from the new residents, but want another $3000 from us to take advantage of the situation. As if we haven’t lost enough being here. In addition, the place ALWAYS smells like dog poop everywhere which they do nothing about. DO NOT MOVE HERE. LACK OF COMPASSION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. MONEY HUNGRY MANAGEMENT.
I lived here for 1 year. Everything was great. Never had any issues with the neighbors or management. the people upstairs from me were a little loud but that expected living in an apartment. I must say I enjoyed the year that I was there.

We were looking for nice apartments in this area so we stopped by to look at what Hawthorne at Crenshaw had to offer. The outside looked amazing and we were greeted by Sheree in the office with a smile and Starbucks Iced Coffee. We were already sold! The apartments overall exceed our expectations and feel like we finally have a lovely home to live in. Come by and visit their amazing, smiling staff!Thank you Sheree!
Just moved in. I was told about a 100$ move in special and a prorated rent for the year.Upon move in 2 days later I got the bill for February and it was wrong so I tried calling the past couple days to no answer. I got a message today saying I was charged $150 late fee. So I called and finally got through after about 15 calls. My rent was supposed to be 1420, they charged me 1800 plus 150 late feeI told them I’ve been trying to get in contact with them on the phone cause I work during office hours and can’t make it up there. She told me well we can fix your rent amount but you still have a late fee.Keep in mind that the payment portal does not allow partial payments so I would have had to pay $1800 at once so no matter what I would’ve been charged a late fee. When I told her this she told me why couldn’t I just go in person so I reminded her I can’t spare the time because of work. All I kept getting reminded was that I still would have a late fee. When I told her if they would’ve got my rent right in the first place and not overcharge me $400 then it wouldn’t have been a problem. The only answer I received was I’m still going to be charged a late fee.

Very responsive and efficient staff! They were quick to solve issues with regards to maintenace and utilities. The supervisor was the one who came and fix our breakers. Community is closed to all shops too.

To all of the people saying beautiful property, you must not have seen the mountains of dog feces that pile up around the complex. The bait and switch from the management of the property, saying one thing and then constantly pretending like that thing they had said earlier they would do is now somehow an impossibility, and can only be done by the approval of the person who said it who is now magically unavailable and cant be reached. Does management not communicate with one another on the things they decide, is the upper management separated by a sound proof wall, unable to be reached by the lower management making them unable to communicate with one another, is all communication and decision making written with undecipherable code that they then must uncypher to be able to understand one another? if you want to wake up and swim through the manure and deal with people who apparently work together but have never spoken to each other before, come over and have a great time .

Only giving it 1 star because there’s no option for NO STARS!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!! Besides the fact that we were paying over 1K a month, we had to pay for a “damaged” stove top. Mind you, it’s a GLASS stove top so over time the heat does create stains on the stove top. We were residents for over a year and used the stove daily! We were charged 541$ for a STOVETOP. We paid it, and THEN..we receive a letter in the mail stating that they had sent us to collections because we “didn’t pay”!! So unorganized. Aggravating. While you’re a resident there, it’s hard to get a hold of anyone in the office. Everyone gives you the run around and doesn’t give you solutions to anything. They are too focused on their sales to even care about their residents. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD TO GIVE MONEY AWAY FOR FREE!!

It wouldn’t hurt for someone to actually CLEAN UP THEIR DOGS POOP. I’ve seen multiple people take their dogs outside, let them poop, then just walk away. And the result is a horrible nasty Dog Poop Smell EVERYWHERE. As you can see, im fed up from it lol. PLEASE BE BETTER CITIZENS. Thanks
Toured this community a while back, staff was not very helpful. I had to wait 5 minutes before anyone greeted myself and 4 year old son. Tour was mediocre, the inside of the units were not that appealing.

The management team at this facility is completely fraudulent and will steal your money and over charge you. The facility is very unsafe as break ins happen often. Stay clear from this apartment complex.

Staff gives different answers when asked the same question. Some are particularly very rude and will find every possible way to keep your deposit after you move out. Renters beware.
