This is by far one of the worst apartments I have ever had the misfortune of living in, and as someone who has lived in multiple cities and apartments throughout the state of Texas, that is saying something. Firstly, the management here is just rude. They have no sympathy for military service members or their families. They use loopholes to make ending lease difficult, even when given valid military orders, so if you are a service member, BEWARE!!! They will just send an email (without actually telling you that they sent an email), and if you do not reply immediately due to whatever reason, they will simply ignore your request to leave and then charge you a full months rent and then some. Secondly, maintenance could use some serious work at this complex. Since day one of living here at La Contessa, I have had a multitude of maintenance issues. Freezing cold water, terrible ventilation, a terrible paint job with scratches, a leaky ceiling, and a shoddy dryer do not even begin to scratch the surface. They give a sheet to document previous tenants damage during the move in process (like most apartments do), and I was extremely thorough. I hope they will at least honor it. I will say however it is a decent area to live in and in Laredo that is not a lot of places. I am grateful I get to leave this city and this terrible experience behind me.
I lived here for 13 months and I would never live there again and if you value your credit score and prefer not to have hidden fees pop up on you. I would recommend staying away from these apartments. The place is infested with small roaches and even though they charge you every month for a company to come spray the apartments. It doesnt happen. The surprise charges after you move out are even more surprising. Apparently I had some and was never contacted about them even though I had paid for some shortly after move out. I suddenly recieved a hit on my credit for a charge I never knew about.I wouldnt recommend this play or company to anyone. Stay clear
Lived here 4 years and dont have any complaints honestly. Nice amenities, great location and plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood with mostly professional working folks in the community. You got a walking trail behind the apts to stay active with is nice. I would like them to let you keep a grill on the porch covered up, and maybe lower the 1 bedroom price a little to compete with the area, but other than that all good. If you can afford rent and dont want a house this location is perfect 👌🏽
The complex is well maintained! The staff is very nice and the environment is very calm and soothing. Not having to deal with crazy people os the best
So far so great!! Im loving the atmosphere and the community! The leasing office team is great and the maintenance is awesome as well! Im glad to call this home!Note, whe. I made the previous review I was in the regular side of the complex, but since I have more into there townhomes!! Very spacious and great floor plans for all of them! Included is a full sized kitchen with a. Island and you have upstairs and downstairs...I gotta say its pretty nice. Im enjoying my neighbors quite a lot and it feels safe enough to have kids play (with supervision of course)
I’ve loved living and being a part of this community! It’s located in an area where everything is accessible! The complex is always neatly kept! There hasn’t been any noise complaints and the neighbors I’ve come across are nice! Amenities are great and always well maintained! I highly recommend these apartments!
Vanessa went above and beyond to help me with my move in! She answered all my questions, calls and emails promptly! As a new renter, she was able to recommend and provide contact information for services I would be needing, including light and renters insurance. She was also willing to help split my pet deposits. Vanessa is a true professional and made my move less stressful! Her staff is also very friendly and eager to help. My apartment was move in ready, and I am enjoying my new place! The view from my huge balcony is amazing and my new favorite place to relax in the evenings.
I only lived in this apartment for half the time I was leasing and the carpet was in great condition when I left. They charged me $130 to clean the carpet! They charged me $150 for cheap rubber bracelets for pool access when I moved out. They also failed to calculate my water bill correctly for 4 months and charged me an extra $120 after taking my full deposit.
So far, so good! I absolutely love my apartment. Lots of windows 6 total including one in the bathroom. Large bathroom and kitchen has a lot of cabinets and counter space. Lazy river pool is insane. Staff are crazy amazing. They answer my calls and they give me answers in a professional manner. Great place to live!
Hostile management that wants you to move in early with no legal basis, the website allows you to apply for the apartment two weeks in advance and they wanted to force me to start my lease 2 weeks before I even move to the city. They also force you to pay the deposit when applying with no guarantee that you will be accepted.I dont like the push over approach, seems unethical, and very vague.I really wanted to do business with them, but such approach is unacceptable.
I wanted to wait at least a full month living here before I wrote a review & so far I do like living at La Contessa. The apartments are nice & the grounds are well kept, the girls in the office (they know who they are) are nothing short of wonderful & do what they can with the resources they have. MOST issues ive had, have been resolved to my satisfaction & while the apartments are pricey for the area of Laredo compared to other parts of the country, an apartment costs what it should. My only issues so far & the reason for not giving this place a full 5 stars, have been with the amenities. The lazy river pool has been closed since before I got here & updates on when that will return/be cleaned/ reopened have seized, frankly its a shame. Also the treadmills & other equipment at the gym by the office need to be repaired & have not been. (the motors have a mind of their own & constantly stop & go on their own forcing me to use the other gym which is further away) Again I understand the staff has their hands full but these issues need to be resolved. In closing, if youre in need of an apartment in Laredo these really are some of, if not the best in my opinion. Its well located, (especially for me that works nearby) next to grocery stores, shopping & im glad ive moved here. Looking forward to the next year
From the start of our application to the day of our move in and weeks after Brittany and Lizzet the office staff have been fabulous! Not to mention the beautiful and spacious layout of my 2 bedroom is amazing! The amenities are excellent! Especially the lazy river pool! Highly recommend living here.
This is a very clean and quiet community. The maintenance staff are top notch. Joel Flores shown up quickly and taken care of any problems I have ever had. Hes great!! Cant wait for the two beautiful pools to open.
Very disappointed!! Lost my time going there just to find out that the prices are $280+ higher than the price they advertise on their web site! They claim that those rates are base prices but need to add water, internet and cable which any of those are optional, so you cant lease an apartment at base price anyway. If those services are not optional then just advertise the price you give the customer at front desk: 1 Bedroom apartment $1,146, that simple.
We have been living here for about four months now and we love the atmosphere and the tranquillity of the complex. The peace of mind of having gated parking is always a plus. The only bad thing is that some requests are not addressed by the staff. But other than that great place to live
La Contessa is a great housing community that offers a lot to its residents. The staff is very friendly, approachable, and responsive to emails. It is in a very convenient location right by the HEB and Target. Overall, the move-in experience was seamless and easy.
I usually don’t like posting bad reviews of places unless I truly had a bad experience somewhere. Unfortunately, La Contessa has come up as a huge disappointment. Most of the reviews I’ve seen on here must have been from when they were under previous management. The pros: the complex is pretty well located and is gated. They also have two pools available and a gym on site. They generally have enough parking for you and guests. You won’t be too far from quality grocery stores or gyms and it will only take about ten minutes to get to bars and clubs to go out. You’re about 15 minutes from the bridge and even though it’s right next to the highway, you hardly deal with much noise associated with it. Generally, you won’t hear your neighbors either. The cons: la contessa’s new front desk management is largely unhelpful. I had an incident that happened at my apartment (for the sake of anonymity I don’t want to go into details) and the staff was for the most part very unhelpful and slow to resolve any issues I had, if they chose to even resolve them. Also, the apartment complex CONSTANTLY is having water outages. When you work long days and hours and all you want to do is take a shower or brush your teeth, or even have a glass of ice water, it gets to be frustrating when the water is out so no ice is made and the water isn’t running. I know of 6 separate occasions halfway through my lease that this has happened, 4 of the times being within a 2 week timeframe. The apartments also use cheap flooring that is bloated in areas. If you come check out your potential apartment beforehand BE THOROUGH in your overview of it. There are lots of scratches, paint removals, stains and such in areas you won’t see until you’re living there everyday and I’m sure management will say it’s your fault if you didn’t notice all of them when you moved in. Bye bye security deposit.Overall I wouldn’t recommend someone coming to live here. There are other complexes in this area that you can go to that have more competent managers and aren’t experiencing these issues.
Worst place to live!!!! This place is too overpriced for what it actually is. I’ve been having issues since day one (and I don’t even have a year here). Day one, the bath tub was clogged, aren’t they supposed to inspect the place before giving it to someone else? My fridge, AC, microwave, and the boiler have broken in a span of 3-4 months. I woke up one day at 12 am with a burning smell, and it ended up being the boiler because the AC was leaking water, which was falling on top of the boiler. The maintenance guy came, said that the smell was coming from the boiler (duh) and then he left. At the following day, we did not have hot water. Of course, the boiler had broken. I’m sick of this place!!!!
It use to be a good place to live in but! No more! Maintenance takes forever to fix a problem, and they have a input Work Order method to fix thing and still nothing gets done. I once stayed locked out of my apartment for 3 day due to a jammed door! I had to stay with a family member.... I consider that being an emergency but for them it was just another work order form to fix....but it may have been just my bad experience; if you decide to stay here; good luck and hope you dont go through the same experiences I had...
Being transferred to Laredo for work and not having a lot of time to find a place and move due to school starting very very soon, I found myself spending all of my time researching where to live. I came across La Contessa Apartments online and immediately fell in love. I was able to call and email to get all of my questions answered and everyone I spoke to was always extremely nice and knowledgeable. The first moment I had a chance to I came down and saw it in person. It was exactly as it appeared in the pictures which I was extremely happy to see. Before I knew it we were moving in! Within the first few days of us moving in my ac broke and it was Friday and almost time for the front office to close, but that didn’t seem to matter. They sent maintenance right over and got it working again, he even stopped by the next day to ensure it was working great! Overall I am extremely happy that I chose this as our home!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Anytime I need to talk to them I walk over to the office and I am helped right away. They have a lazy river pool and they are pet friendly. After a year of living here I still think this place is amazing!
The best apartments ever. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they take very good care of their residents. When needing something fixed they quickly take care of it.
Absolutely have loved living here! Staff is friendly and always helpful! Residents are friendly throughout the community. I have made my neighbors into life long friends!
The apartments are nice. However there is no storage space except closets and kitchen cabinets. No pantry, no linen closet and no coat closet. Apparently There is no garbage disposal in any unit. When we got our apartment keys, it still needed a lot of cleaning and maintenance work. Leasing office people are nice and professional.
This apartment community is very comfortable to live in and the amenities are great as well. It is an overall quiet and peaceful environment. I would recommend this place to anyone!
I loved living here great location two pools & two gyms, but curfew at the pools was a bit too early for me
Great place to make a new home! Staff is friendly an attentive. Beautiful and ample apartments, amazing pool, and overall best in Laredo.
SO COOL
Lived here for almost 3 years its actually really ok but has been on the down side for the better part of the last yearNew staff and new management so hoping for it to get better and safer like it was before.
Very friendly and peaceful environment! Residents here are respectful and civilized! Staff is very friendly and always available to help! Amenities are great! Highly recommend this place!

This place is great to live!!! The amenities are awesome!!! And the staff are great!!!
Office people are really helpful and maintenance guys are friendly and helpful as well. Great place to live.
You pay a very nice shiny penny for luxury. Consider other possibilities before making final decision.
Very good option for living and a great customer service, Thank You!
Great location , friendly and helpful staff . Everything thing I was looking for I. A appointment.

I have really enjoyed my stay here.
Family lives there quiet bnqing area
Excellent place to live. Would highly recommend.
Great place. Great staff. We love it here...
I love it!
Its Sunday and they say its open from 12 to 5 pm and Ive been out here for 3 hours and theres no one in the office who wanted to show me the one-bedroom apartments to rent but theres no one there! They should put a sign to warn that it will be closed separately and it has been opening and no one answers the calls. Me and my boyfriend have been opening since 12 pm 🧐😒
They even charge you to breathe, the materials with which the buildings were made are of poor quality (they do not have sound insulation), you can hear all the noises from neighboring apartments, the policies of objects that cannot be had in the buildings balconies, only applies to some; The only thing I can say positively is the excellent attention of Mrs. Maribel, but the truth is I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND LIVING THERE!!!
It is clean, there is a peaceful atmosphere, the person who served us was very friendly
Congratulations, everything is very clean.
In the evening
Spectacular place
