I had a great experience touring The Connection! The amenities are fantastic and really stood out during the tour. The staff was super helpful, answering all my questions and making the process easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend checking this place out!
Living at The Connection Apartments in Huntsville, TX, has been a fantastic experience! The Maintenance team is always prompt and thorough, making sure everything is taken care of quickly. The Rental Office staff is incredibly helpful and approachable, making the leasing process and any follow-ups seamless. The Residential community is peaceful and well-kept, providing a comfortable and enjoyable living environment. I highly recommend The Connection to anyone looking for a reliable and well-managed place to live!
Please do not rent here. I have had cold water for showering for 3 months now. My carpet is peeling up. I have submitted work orders 3x and they do not fix it. They close work orders without fixing the problems. I am paying way too much to only have cold showers. The pipes are very old and leave rusty, nasty water. I have asked for a new water heater to be installed if this one doesn’t work and the staff is ignoring my issues. I will remove this review, if the work is completed correctly.
I recently toured these apartments and was thoroughly impressed. The layout is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with modern finishes. The amenities are fantastic, including a well-equipped gym. Whitney Gilmore was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The location is ideal, offering both convenience and a peaceful environment. Overall, it looks like a great place to call home, and I’m excited about the possibility of moving in!
I’ve been living here for almost a year now and can easily say that I’ve never had any real issues here. Even when I did have an issue with an appliance it was quickly fixed within a couple days. I’ve even been able to convince a few friends to move in too and they’ve enjoyed it as well.
Renter BEWARE! Like others, we received a move out statement for $330. Seems to be the going rate for touch up paint and cleaning. Did anyone actually look at the apartment? We took video of the apartment before he moved out and would like justification of how you can charge $330! Do yourself a favor and dont bother with even looking at this complex. There are other apartments that I am sure are more trustworthy and worth your money.UPDATE:I sent two emails to the noted address with no response. We finally called and it got ugly! Apparently if you dont have a professional clean your apartment and provide a receipt it is not clean. They get to decide what the definition of clean is. Our video that we took meant nothing. They could not confirm that anyone actually looked at the apartment after my son moved out. Therefore, they can justify the $160 for the standard cleaning and $70 for the carpet. I do want to emphasis that my son was happy with the management at The Connections. Greystar is the management company that oversees all the BS billing. What a way to take advantage of kids just trying to go to college and get a degree. I hope this is not the case with other complexes in Huntsville.
I’ve been living here for about a year and a half now and planning on staying for a while. The rates are great, rooms are nice. My biggest problem is the staff. They are extremely lazy when it comes to maintenance issues, cleaning, and little stuff. They do the job but they always do the bare minimum in order to complete it and leave. The volleyball net was never properly fixed. The fitness center AC has been broken for weeks. And they do nothing to improve on these issues. Just shrug it off and do the minimum required work in order to complete the maintenance issue.
As I am preparing to move to Huntsville to attend SHSU, this apartment complex’s staff has been phenomenal! Despite them having tons of applications for renewals and those wanting to lease with them, they have been very helpful and patient with me. They answered all my questions in a prompt manner and were able to give me a resolution to a little hiccup in my application. I pray I am approved with them for this is the best service I’ve ever received from an apartment complex.
Extremely unprofessional staff. Impossible to get a hold of anyone in the leasing office, the manager is always in a meeting. Will not do any kind of maintenance. My apartment flooded and the carpets were never replaced. On one occasion, the fire alarms were malfunctioning causing them to go off every hour or so. Took the whole day for anyone to come, and had to call about it 4 times. Our dryer was not repaired for a month. When a receptionist does answer the phone, they are extremely rude and unhelpful. They have also charged me $100 to touch up the paint and $300 to clean the carpet after I moved out. The place is not worth the rent.
I am currently in my second year of living here at The Connection, and I absolutely love it! The staff is very friendly, the amenities are amazing, and the shuttle takes me to and from the university, so I dont have to drive to campus. I cant speak for everyone, but overall this is a great place to live.
If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. This place is, hands down, one of, if not the WORST place in Huntsville to live. Students beware! The Connection takes advantage of students (THEIR TARGET MARKET!) who arent familiar with their renters rights and living here took a toll on my physical and mental health. I separated all my issues into paragraphs so its easier for others to read; trust me, you need to know all this information before signing here!!!My entire apartment was infested with mold in almost every room. I filed 4 separate maintenance requests and they went ignored for MONTHS until I finally called the Huntsville City Inspector and boy, were they unhappy with me! We had cracking and rotten walls all over the unit, which they never did anything about. When I came home after a month of winter break, my entire closet floor (carpet) was soaking wet like a sponge and it ruined some of my clothes and shoes. Never got reimbursed for that. The state of their apartments is NOT LIVABLE and they try to conceal it for new tenants with paint.Water was a big issue living here. We had leaks coming from all directions as a first floor apartment: the apartment above us, dripping down the walls and causing disfigurement and mold, water coming from the unit next to us, and water coming up through the wooden baseboards whenever we stepped on them. Terrible. Whenever maintenance was called to fix the issue, they never did and usually just made things worse. We would have large industrial fans blowing in our apartment through all hours of the day and night, very disruptive, and it caused our electricity bill to skyrocket, and we were never reimbursed.Front desk staff is nice until you genuinely need help with something, and then they ignore your calls and requests. Their customer service is non-existent, and the front desk staff are clearly not trained in how to professionally engage and talk to customers. Most of them were quite rude; maybe a nice person here and there because I dont like to generalize. My car was towed from my OWN PAID PARKING SPOT once and I had to go pick it up on the outskirts of Huntsville at 1 in the morning on a school night. The Connection will also nickel-and-dime its residents, who are mostly college students with not a ton of income. They charged us a $10 fee for living on the first floor when that was never mentioned previously, and it was not even in the lease agreement, so I was not legally obligated to pay it. My roommates and I never even ASKED to be on the first floor, it was randomized, but they still charged us the non-legally binding fee. Because they charge rent online, it was impossible to pay rent without the bogus charge, so I was forced to do so.Their grounds are unsafe as they do not always close their gates. Several times we had random people walk onto the property and come and knock on our door in the middle of the night. Parties and loud noises and cars are commonplace here, so say goodbye to good sleep. Dogs barking constantly. I developed a raging insomnia problem living here. Terrible studying location for students. The grounds are also not taken care of; dirty with trash all over the place. When I moved out, the pool and hot tub were GREEN and had not been cleaned nor used in MONTHS.To sum it all up, pretty much everything about this complex is horrible. I took the time to write this review because it genuinely makes me sad to think that this complex is still getting away with doing this to students. It makes me sick to think that someone else may be going through what I went through living there. Steer clear from this place and save your money, energy, time, and health.I had to meet with a lawyer repeatedly to get out of my lease, which adds so much stress to a student’s college experience. I won’t be surprised if The Connection gets a lawsuit in the future; they have and have had it coming.Final warning: DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
I had a great experience touring this property. The office staff was very helpful & the property seems like the best in the area. I recommend checking it out!
Rude property manager. I would never want to live here again because of her. I’ve never been talked down to the way she does to the residents of this apartment. Not to mention how bad the apartments themselves are, they don’t care if everything in your unit is broken so long as they are getting money from you.
I got a tour by Reese Wilburn and she was the best tour guide i could ever ask for. She answered all my questions perfectly and knew exactly what to say to put my mind at ease. Great worker and i’m glad I got a tour from her
The front office staff including the property manager greets you with a friendly welcome eather by phone or in person. Dont believe the negative reviews give them a chance and I promise you will be pleasantly surprised.
Renter Beware...my son lived at The Connections for 7 months and he and I personally cleaned his room when he moved out. We received a $330 bill for cleaning/ touch up paint...for literally a 10x10 room. We left it in pristine condition. I called the front office and they gave me a corporate number to call and would not answer any questions. Called the Greystar number and waited for 10 minutes to be sent to a recording. Feels like we are being scammed.
The Connections are an okay place to live if you dont encounter any problems. Ive placed a few maintenance request which have been worked out a few days after. Though I was unable to make a request through the app (this happens a lot), I emailed the apartment complex about a leak in my roof, and have yet to hear back, this was a few weeks ago. Another time maintenance came in because half of our unit (four bed) was ice cold and the other was hot, and they told me to turn the fan on in a different direction, my room was already frozen, they didnt look at any vents or anything. I do have a dog on the complex, which it was easy to register him through the portal. The dog park is filled with poop and barely maintained. I put poop bags out there so dog owners could clean up after their dogs. There is also poop everywhere we walk, which the apartment complex did email about but it hasnt changed anything. Another thing I dont like about the complex is the parking lot. The entrance is always opened, even though it is gated. But whats the point of a gate if it is never shut. Also, there are a lot of curves and hidden corners all around the complex and people dont drive slow regardless of where they are. The entryways are tiny; my car is small but I feel like I can barely fit between the gate. Also if the gates do eventually shut, the side piece that you scan your app on is even smaller. The location in relation to Huntsville is good though, easy to get to the University and seems to be a safe neighborhood.
I had a wonderful experience with Reese as she was very welcoming and informative. She gave me an amazing tour and explained all the amenities very well. 10/10 would recommend!
If you’re willing to put up with shitty maintenance regulations, go ahead and live here; it’s 88 degrees in our 3 bed with the help of only ONE window unit since our AC broke 3 days ago 😍 asked for another one and was pretty much told “welp sucks for you maintenance can’t provide another one”. Extremely unprofessional and don’t care.
My experience with the connection has not been a positive one. My roommates and I have filled several maintenance requests for our washer to be fixed since March because something was wrong with our spin cycle, causing our clothes to be soaked after washing. Each time someone would look at it, we were constantly told that there was nothing wrong with it or that we should just make smaller loads, however that never worked. So we were basically dismissed each time we made a request. Finally, one of the head maintenance people noticed that our washer was super loud. And he told us he had to order a new agitator for us. They dont communicate with you while you wait so that you know when they finally received it. So while we waited we had to go to the washateria or back home to our parents to wash, which was pretty expensive and inconvenient. There is bird poop everywhere which is pretty disgusting and the gates are never closed which they told us they would keep them closed. Also, I take the shuttle to school and sometimes one of the buses would be gone for weeks without them letting us know what the issue is. Which is an inconvenience, so then you have to change your schedule to get to school. Also, the walls are very thin, so you will hear when your neighbors through a party late at night.
Amenities are very nice and easily accessible. Never had any problems with the staff (notably Whitney) and my unit has a decent amount of space.
There was a young name named Reese who was very respectful on the phone when we had asked for information . Following, I came in for a tour with Reese. She was very helpful in providing information and being a tour guide!! Thank you for wonderful customer service!!
If I could give zero stars I would... if you are looking for an apartment in Huntsville do NOT come here. When I moved in the apartment it was filthy and there was black mold in our kitchen and rooms. There had been previous water damage and the whole kitchen wall with cabinets was filled with it. When I called to express these concerns, the manager was so rude on the phone and got loud with me for no reason when I was worried about our health with how much mold we found. The maintenance would say they came and completed work orders but would never show up. When I moved in the blinds were broken in my room, and I had submitted images of this but was still charged when I moved out. No one would help me and look at the photos I had submitted or remove the charges that I did not owe. They would just tell me I had to dispute it with the other company but you cant ever get ahold of them. So they will charge you without even looking at your photos you submit when you move in. Most of the good reviews on here are from them asking for reviews in return for free drinks or goodies, so some of them are not genuine. I would not recommend this place at all.
Horrible experience, pool is slimy and green most of the time. Front desk staff are super rude and the apartments are outdated and the ac breaks and they don’t fix it.DO NOT LIVE HERE.
I have had an awful experience with this apartment and cannot wait to move. When I first moved in, the laundry door was broken off the hinges, the closet door in one of the bedrooms had a big hole in it, theres black mold on the windows, they very clearly cleaned nothing, they didnt clean out the dryer vent and it would smoke when we tried to use it. Fire alarms started going off without reason, maintenance came and said the fire alarms were super old and needed to be replaced, and then DIDNT replace them. Hot water is unreliable. So many people let their dogs off leash and poop everywhere without cleaning any of it. Came back after visiting family and my apartment is now fully infested with fleas even though I dont have pets. Oh and people also will smoke weed and party at the club house and the complex doesnt seem to care.Overall, the complex itself is poorly maintained. The units feel like they were slapped together by a pack of 5th graders (faucets are crooked, paint job is awful and got onto their furnishings, all the door stops are too low to actually stop the doors). There is a new manager and hopefully they are better than the last one but I wont hold my breath.
Edit: Greystar the parent company is supposedly being sued by the Department of Justice for price fixing and there also is a class action lawsuit for junk fees. Yeah!If you feel like you are a victim of fraudulent and illegal move out charges, contact the Texas Attorney Generals Office and file a complaint against this business to get a class action lawsuit judgment against them. As far as their response below, what a sham. Hope they get the legal justice I think they deserve.Let me save others from renting here. Here were my findings: appliances looked like they were fished out of dump; furniture looked like it was picked up on bulk trash pickup day, chipped, drawers not working; reeked of weed and crystal meth; black mold around windows; apartment filthy, grimy, uncleaned; biowaste in bathrooms, carpet (told units didnt have any) also looked and felt like it was a dump find.Electricity was turned off to cover up fact smoke alarm was chirping. Reported to management whose response was smoke alarms are only for emergencies. Uh, no. Working smoke alarms are required by law. Someone did come out and flipped the breaker which sparked and the smoke detector began chirping. He reported he fixed the problem like a chirping alarm was OK. Dryer was not connected and had been allowed to vent in unit for maybe years based on the buildup in closet and nobody noticed. Used the washer once, and it ruined my clothes with a horrible smell that I couldnt get rid of after. My opinion this place is a rathole and doesnt deserve one cent of your business.Post moveoutAll possessions took on the nasty apartment smell and had to be fumigated before I was allowed to bring into my parents house. I ended up commuting to school as opposed to living there as the apartment was just too nasty and smelly. Upon moveout, nobody came to do the final inspection. I inquired and was told that person works from home. That may be why the condition was sooooo bad.
Datron was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! He was able to help me figure out the best option for me and my roomies :)
10/10 would recommend ! Datron was so respectful and polite , they also have a pool , gym and a place for the dogs. Customer service is always great. Very nice apartments as well.
They’ll make you move in towards the end of the month and wouldn’t tell you before you sign the lease that they don’t prorate rent and they’ll make you pay full month’s rent. Also they advertise all these specials, if you don’t renew your lease with in 6 months of being with them they’ll take it and make you pay full rent. When I signed my lease for 12 months they gave me $100 for 12 months and they tried to make me renew my lease 6 months before it ended. When I refused to sign it they took the $100 and made me pay full rent for 6 months. I gave it 2 stars cos maintenance responds fast but that’s really it.
The tour that Reese gave us was great and she was very professional . The property is so nice and clean. Nice area.
Worst student apartments in Huntsville do not recommend! Manager is extremely rude! We had flood damage from the apartment upstairs not by the apartments fault but was still handled very unprofessionally. We were told me must leave that night and had to provide our own place to stay as they tried to put 8 of us in a 3 bedroom with no blankets/ towels. Over the weekend we called for updates on the apartment in which we were told “just call back Monday the manager is off this weekend “ then we were told we could have returned sooner? It’s been a month and no repairs have been made to our apartment. Or the other apartments damaged. My closet was left wet to dry on its own is now likely to get mold. I was told I didn’t call multiple times about it which I did. And even went to the office to talk to them. When speaking with the manager today she gave me and my roommate attitude about the damages. Maintenance has only come once and only looked at the outlets that were SPARKING from the water coming out of them. He did nothing but look at it and flip the breaker back on which is very unsafe especially since our fire alarms were removed and have yet to be replaced.
If you live on the very right or left side of a building you may be stuck listening to a loud constant beeping noise come from the utility closet on the other side of your wall. every time power fluctuates it comes on and will drive you insane. Maintenance can take up to 4+ days even with calls to the office to turn it off so avoid living on an outer wall on the bottom floor!
Would not Recommend this apartment. Let me start off with the unprofessional management, she hangs up on you can care less about anything you bring to attention. My ac has been lacking and my apartment has been 82 degrees. I have put in multiple maintenance requests and they don’t do a thing. During other room repairs the complex will bang at the door and allow themselves in with no heads up. They leave all the lights on and do not lock or completely close the door. They don’t mind blowing up your email about any money they can get out of you but can’t send an email or call with a heads up of entering. Not to mention I’ve had maintenance just come in when I couldn’t get to the door quickly enough and I was changing clothes. Absolutely unacceptable. Don’t let their photos of the complex fool you, I moved in with no prior cleaning done as they said they would do. The pools stay green and I have gotten rashes from the chemical unbalance from their hot tub. As a renewal resident it’s deeply frustrating to deal with continuous issues. I will say the girls at the desk are usually pretty nice but I feel that half the time when I go in further word is never actually made since the manager doesn’t care. I also actively use their gym , the ac has been broken for almost 2 weeks. This is a hazard of overheating for anyone and completely unsafe.
The staff is very helpful and understanding, the staff member Whitney as a standout. I appreciate yall being organized- I’ve had that problem with other apartments.
Reese was great and gave an amazing tour. Very nice personality and made the tour very easy and explained everything about the complex.
I recently went and took a tour and had an amazing tour guide named Reese and she really made me feel comfortable and love this apartment Complex!
This is my first year living in Huntsville and staying at apartments and the experience here has been not that great. Everything had been running ok until our apartment flooded and management has done little to nothing to help us. I was back in Katy that Friday with my parents for the weekend when the event occurred and my roommates were keeping me updated with everything. They had everyone evacuate our buildings due to the flooding and they had to stay at a nearby hotel for the night. Next day when they went up to front office they were turned down due to management not being there for the weekend yet it was an emergency situation since some of us didn’t have cars or had no place to stay to go to school. Once again they were back at the hotel and the front wasn’t telling us much about the situation. Sunday morning they went up there again and the front ended up telling the girls that they shouldn’t have gone to a hotel that they should’ve just stayed in their rooms since it was okay for us to stay. Yet no one told us that even though we physically went up to the office and called. I told the girls to ask them for a reimbursement due to the inconvenience they were put through. The front said they would only pay for the first night and nothing else. We luckily were able to stay there that Sunday night but had no clearance from maintenance about whether we could or couldn’t use the kitchen and laundry due to it being one of the areas with more damage. Maintenance only came one time to look at the outlets and fix carpets but nothing other than that. The steamers kept coming to check air quality but wouldn’t give us any updates. They left their fans here for almost 2 weeks and it wasn’t until we complained with management that they removed them. We have been requesting maintenance to come to fix the apartment but nothing and it’s almost a MONTH already! Carpets aren’t attached, fire detectors aren’t attached, walls are cracking, floorboard isn’t attached, closets are still wet, our kitchen light wasn’t working for a couple days until our roommate hit it and it began working again, Some of the outlets are still sparking, and we have possible mold in one of the rooms yet nothing. We spoke with the girls from the second floor and they told us they’ve been experiencing the same disappointing treatment from management id you can even call them that. We went up to the office just now and the manager/owner was so rude to us. Kept raising her voice, giving attitude, and honestly just being really ghetto because we were complaining and she had nothing to do with it. She lied about us not calling to come fix it and even claimed she had recordings of our conversations yet every time we called the front we did it when we were all together so there is witnesses of otherwise. She said she needs an approval from the steamers in order to then have maintenance come and fix our apartment. We’re all just beyond tired and disappointed with this treatment. Guys just don’t bother coming here. If there is any flooding or issue to your apartment they will fail to help and care for you.
10/10 customer service!! Reese gave me an excellent tour of the establishment. and was super easy to communicate with if i had any type of questions!
Friendly staff and great amenities. Perfect for a college student.
I am so very impressed with Ryan Hutchinson. I came in to tour the property and was extremely impressed with his knowledge and superior customer service. Although I am not ready for the move I am confident that I will be a resident of The Connection in the near future.
Apartment has 2 spots with leaks. You decide if it’s repeated leaks or not, if it’s professional repairs and if you want to chance your living space to look like this. Management spoke unprofessional, and hung up on me. Daughter is sick and I was told I couldn’t test the air per our lease. Reported multiple times……Still there. As a positive note, maintenance did show up and look at it. Multiple times. And left it.Staff are extra helpful and sweet. Until you have an issue. They will then just hang up. Not return your messages and not provide further contact. Even when they were aware she has asthma and is having an ongoing issue.
I searched through 7-8 different complexes in the area just trying to weigh my options and find the best deal, and the best environment. The Connection Apartments have been above and beyond from the first time I went to the office. Jaylen was my first point of contact and was SUPER HELPFUL AND SWEET! They walked me through the ENTIRE application process in the office/apartment computer lab, and haven’t let me down yet. Just to name a few, if you need ANYTHING Rickia, Robin, and Tori are the people to talk to! I love just stopping by just to chat and check up on the amazing people that work in the office!
Don’t let the pictures fool you, the pool will be nice for a few weeks after move in and then it will be green until the next move in period. I also had a leak in my room for a month and once it was finally fixed, my things were all covered in the paint they used to cover it. Also, the AC unit in my apartment was just “not big enough” to reach my room so I was just expected to accept the fact that with fans in my room it was still impossible to sleep without sweating. My roommates have gotten portable AC’s for this issue. ALSO after moving out, I was charged $15 for leaving a “dirty fan” (the fan that was directly underneath the leak, if my things were covered from them fixing it, I’m sure the fan was too). I called with my mother to talk to the manager Robin and Robin proceeded to call back after the call ended to yell at my mom about how the $15 will not be refunded. I have heard countless people complain about Robin’s attitude, I have no clue how this apartment complex continues to run when the manager is so unwilling to help the tenants. When I had a leak in my room, I was told to simply “move my bed” out from under the leak and was not offered another place to stay until I repeatedly called the office. I basically paid rent to a place that was not livable for a month during my leak and then was unlivable due to the heat during the summer months. Don’t waste your money here!
Really love living here! A lot of fun activities through out the months. They are also super interactive with the residents!
I’ve really enjoyed living here so far! From the beginning the office staff have been a huge help, and I genuinely love my apartment. I needed to move in early, and they willingly made that happen. I see the staff at work, and they always make it a point to tell me hi. The game nights, and free socials they hold are also fun to attend. Overall it’s a great place to live and I have not had any problems yet.
I got a great tour and I’m Thinking about signing. Shout out to reese for my tour. That girl had me in the best mood
I enjoy living here. The amenities are nice and the rates are pretty affordable. The only thing I would fix is better maintenance.
Horrible and awful. I’ve never had such a bad experience with an apartment. Getting anyone to help you with an issue is a career move. The managers are never available or always out of the office, the office staff is equally as bad. When we moved into our apartment I had to put in 13 different tickets for maintenance, our sink didn’t work the first 5 days we were there and the AC was broken. They at least fixed the AC that day when we moved in, then nothing else for a week or two. None of the residents cleanup after their dogs. We had pest control come multiple times and it didn’t help. I even tried to reach out to grey star corporate multiple times with no avail. Wi-Fi was spotty at best and had frequent issues. The gates worked for all of maybe a month in total that I lived there. Multiple gates were just chained shut, the others left open. Would not recommend this apartment at all.
I love amenities the poll and the apartments. My tour guide Reese Wilburn gave an excellent tour
My apartment flooded on a Friday due to top floor unit flooding and had to stay at hotel due per firefighters instructions to vacate the unit until the issue was resolved. Water was coming out of the wall sockets and air vent. I went to the apartment complex leasing office every day and was told to wait until Monday for a response on when me and my roommates would be able to move back in. Me and multiple roommates went in person everyday that weekend to know the status of our apartment and on Sunday we asked for the front desk assistant to contact the property manager. They were finally able to tell us that we could move back in on Saturday, as in the day before. Because of the operation hours for the apartments we had to pay for 3 days in a hotel and were unsure if we would be reimbursed for our stay. The situation was not handled right. Management was not in communication with the fire department or the steamer company in what to do with our unit or the electrical outlets. No one was communicating with us on when we could move back in, which was the next day but no one told us, and had to spend more money on a hotel. Worst student housing experience.
I was a resident here for 2 years and had an extremely negative experience. The one upside is that the apartment was really spacious and the gym wasn’t half bad. The first warning sign should have been when we moved in and it reeked of cigarette smoke and there was mold growing from at least 5 different places. After 2 years of filing complaints, emailing management, and putting in maintenance requests there is STILL mold and a broken AC unit. Before choosing to live here, consider the state of your health and mental sanity. So glad to be leaving.
Whitney was great on our tour. She was knowledgeable and kind. Answered all of our questions and provided us with lots of information. My daughter will be returning this week to lease an apartment!
Loved my time at the connections. Whitney was a genuine sweetheart. She deserves a raise
Not bad for the price they offer. Good apartment for students.
I just moved into The Connection in December 2015 and I love my one bedroom apartment. It came fully furnished with brand new leather furniture and new appliances. Everyone in the leasing office is super nice and friendly. The apartment maintenance staff is great also. The apartment is pretty safe and clean. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, clean, and safe place to stay.Ms. Tina
Would definitely rate 0 stars and would not recommend to anyone. Rude office staff, gates never worked, maintenance checked things off the work order list without even checking the issue. I stayed home one day to wait for them to fix it but instead got an email saying the problem had been fixed. 🙄 10/10 horrible place. I wouldn’t even wish this place on my worst enemy.
This specific apartment isnt the best but its somewhat better than other apartments. One thing I really dont appreciate and did notice about the apartments is how their tenants are always driving reckless and fast in the parking lots. My roommate just suffered a severe accident in the parking lot and the individual responsible for it didnt have a scratch on her. I know apartments arent supposed to be responsible for security and safety, but they could enforce people to drive slower or have a speed limit sign at least something. Or even a few more stop signs. These apartments have all these rules and regulations, but dont get involved with direct issues. You can sign here, but just a warning you can face some challenges even outside of extra charges and deceit.
Paid contract in full upon early move out including unused covered parking. Left apartment room in better condition than at move in. They refused to perform a walk-thru inspection at move out and said to take pictures and video. They tacked on charges that were already paid or for paint that wasnt needed. We offered to pay for the shared common area cleaning. The Connection turned this over to Greystar and they never responded to our repeated emails other than well get in touch with you and then turned it over to collections. We have all the documentation to prove. They are nickel and diming students with little to no income.
What a find!We were late to the game in finding our child housing for this semester. A friend of his recommended The Connection and we are ecstatic they did. They were able to meet all the needs required for our son being able to stay in this complex. Where others fell well short, The Connection came through.Thank you to Rickia for addressing and handling ALL of out specific request and concerns. As parents she gave us the comforted assurance that we needed.
These apartments rock. My daughter and three other roommates are recent tenets here. These apartments are so spacious and have a lot of storage space. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and huge closets. These apartments are great. Only one thing negative to say and that is the a/c filter space was horrible. Sure the apartment staff cleaned or replaced the air filter but the space around where the filter is, was shocking because of the dirt, mildew, mold that was left and not cleaned was disappointing. One of the other parents discovered it on move in day. The parent cleaned and removed the mildew and mold so all seems well. This apartment complex has a lot of amenities and a friendly staff.
This place is not so bad. I love how HEB is close to the apartments and is a quiet place. I didn’t really have problems about this place. People are friendly to me every-time I walk into the front office. But I will say this, when I first moved in, it was a little dirty. Of course, I didn’t really think too much of it because I was going to clean my place either way. But thanks to the people that works here. They are amazing and helpful to me. I would live here again which I plan to stay next year. Like I said, it’s not so bad. Thank y’all for the help around.
I enjoy staying at the Connections. They have clean amenities, easy mail system, and the front desk staff are friendly. I did have a few issues with my dryer, but maintenance came in a timely manner to fix it.
Dont bother cleaning your apartment when you move out because theyll charge you hundreds of dollars to hire a cleaning crew. Which is BS because when I moved in, my apartment was so dusty and had a previous leasers dirty rug in the dining room. Also, Ive had a maintenance worker walk into my apartment without knocking and also walk into my room without knocking a different time! I could have been undressed. I complained and they just said sorry, but didnt fire him.
REFUSE TO PROVIDE THE TV PER THE LEASE AND REFUSE TO CLEAN THE POOL REFUSE TO FIX APPLIANCES AFTER MONTHS OF MOVING IN TAYLOR REFUSES TO WORK AND GIVE MESSAGES TO THE MANAGER. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE
I had and received a tour from a beautiful women named Reece she helped me to potientially sign with the connections
My experience at this place is always heart warming I always feel welcomed by the staff and the management team. When I do visit I feel very good about the people I may encounter pleasant experiences always.
NEW EDIT: I paid $250 for damages I didnt cause to their already dirty carpet when I left in August. And still now in 2017 when I am no longer a tenant, they are attempting to smear my credit by saying I didnt pay. Do not live here. They weasel and cheat money out of you.My living space was decent but I think thats the nicest thing I have to say. I moved in and had no working microwave for 3+ months even though I repeatedly brought up the issue to staff. After months of asking for a microwave, they gave me one, but it was not an installed one above the stove as it should have been, and it broke too a few days later after only one use for soup. I brought the second broken microwave to the office myself and left it there with the manager so someone would finally take me seriously. It was December or January until I got a properly installed and working microwave; I had been leasing since August.I once experienced in my apartment a sudden and very strong chemical smell, enough to trigger the smoke alarms. Staff made no attempt to find a solution, and waved me off.Maintenance workers are adult men and frequently let themselves into your apartment without much warning. This is inappropriate for women. Many times they have walked into my apartment while I was in a state of undress or in the shower. When preparing to leave the apartments this year, I had asked what my current balance and future expected payments for June and July would be, so I could pay the cost in advanced since I would not be in town for the summer to pay rent (the online payment service doesnt work, by the way). I had *twice* been given the wrong amount I owed, and was unfairly procured of late fees. I shouldnt have had to pay costly fees because I was lied to the first time about what I owed.Lastly, the shuttle service was highly unreliable and often broken for the two semesters I spent here. The first few months last fall were spent overstuffing people (illegal) into a small shuttle. As someone who is disabled and cannot drive and depends on such a service to be available as it was promised and also safe, this is unacceptable.
I have lived at The Connection for a couple of years. I absolutely love it here. They have so many community events. The staff really seem to care and work hard to resolve any issues. I would definitely recommend living here.
It’s ok. Moving in: the apartment was disgusting not cleaned at all. Moving in I had to spent 5+ hours cleaning and it barely made a difference because of the caked on grime in the kitchen floor as well as the base boards. The whole apartment stunk from water damage under the sink. The washer didn’t work. Cracks throughout all the walls. The carpet is OLD and gross. The carpet in my room had some THICK dust and dirt around the edges of my room. On the bright side the bathroom and closet are spacious. These apartments seriously need some TLC. Including a deep clean inbetween residents. I was also a little disappointed with the roommate matching.. I really don’t have that much in common with my roommates. The shuttles are great! The gym is great. I’ve only lived here a month and I’m looking at other places. This apartment complex had the chance to make a good first impression and ruined it. Also speaking of only living here a month (my lease is up end of July since I came in spring semester) and rates go up tomorrow if you don’t renew today..so that really sucks. Renewing doesn’t seem like a reasonable outcome considering my first impression and experience only living here a month. I’ll make an updated review after a few months of living here.********************EDIT!!!***************************Here’s my updated review! I’ve lived here 7 months now.The Connections first impression wasn’t great as you can tell from above. But management came in apologized, and definitely made up for it. All issues were fixed and the management continued to be great. A huge shout out to Angela and Lindsey! When I come into the office it feels like home. Staff makes an effort to get to know the residents and check in with them when they come to the office. I’ve re-signed my lease and am moving to a different unit on the first floor Angela worked with me where I didn’t have to move away before moving into my new unit which was a big plus for me. The ONLY issues/hopes that I have now are changing the carpet (it’s just been there too long)in our rooms to hard wood floors and adding another shuttle to the route (there’s so many people from our complex that ride to and from campus two shuttles just aren’t enough). Other than these two things it’s been a great place to live minus the first month.
The Connections are the best apartment complex! It’s right in the middle of town, within walking distance of HEB, Shenanigans, and 7 Leguas! The apartments are spacious and perfect for a great group of friends! I’m so glad I renewed for next year! The staff and amenities are amazing! Always willing and ready to help! My neighbors are nice and the staff always has something fun prepared to grow the community!
The Connection is the worst apartment complex in Huntsville. Every experience I had while living here was awful. I had packages delivered on two different occasions and when I went to come pick them were no where to be found. I gave the persons name who signed for the packages and was told that person no longer worked there and was brushed off. Only after yelling at the employee and their supervisor did the packages somehow resurface in a room where we never put packages. Also, they had two rental agreements, which they could never figure out which one you had, that had two different rent late days. My first time paying my rent, I called to make sure that I had a five day grace period, because I had sent a check through my banks bill payment. After being told that I did in fact have five days, I didnt think about it again, because it would be there within the time. Then, come the third day I get a notice that my rent is late and I now have a late fee. Apparently I was told the grace period for the other rental agreement and they refused to listen to this. The staff, including supervisors and the property manager, are completely useless and try to make your life more complicated. They will try to steal any money they can from you.
The Connection may have its issues, however it is the best student apartment in the Sam Houston area. Rent is about middle of the road compared to other apartments in Huntsville, however it is not so cheap that you begin to get what you pay for. Maintenance is quick to respond and the apartment itself (I live in a 4x4) is spacious. The desk staff of Sam Houston students is always super helpful!
I am a current resident here going on two years now. Love the staff, they are always so friendly and helpful. Maintenance always comes to help in a timely manner, and the apartment complex and space itself are perfect for me and my roomates!
I love it here! My roommates are the absolute best. But the washer and dryer aren’t the best. I like having them in the apartment but they take forever when you have to do a large load and they’re big but not that big. I don’t know why it says you can dry a large load if it’s going to take all day. I also wish maintenance was faster. A couple of times my work order was completed after sitting in the queue for a while and it wasn’t even done.
Worst student apartment ever. They will literally Rob students of their money. They charged me over $150 extra on my last months rent and their excuse was “we charge extra based on projected electricity use”. Half of the amenities were not even open for at least 70% of the school year, and they charge an extra $10 for living on the bottom floor. Maintenance never comes when you submit a request, and they will charge you for damages that they never fixed before you even move in! Do not sign here at all.
Came to take a tour over spring break at The Connection and I LOVED the customer service! The tour guide jaelin was so nice and welcoming, the apartments are very affordable and fully furnished! Will definitely be looking more into moving in #SamHoustonState26’
I just visited my sons apartment for the 1st time since he lived there. I stayed the weekend with him. The community is so nice a quite. The apartment itself is nice and spacious. It has up to date appliances. I really like where he lives. Its near all the stores and restaurants and very close to they highway. Very convenient.
Best student housing in Huntsville! If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that’s affordable and a staff that cares about you choose the connection!
Update: 3 years later and still not a complaint for this complex. I’ve seen so many CAs come and go and been around to watch managers promoted. Congrats to them all!! Roben, Freddy, Bryan, and Katherine (and whoever I’m missing that’s still there) I can’t thank y’all enough for such a wonderful experience in student housing.Unequivocally the best apartment complex in Huntsville. From the quality of life, the staff, and the environment The Connection has mastered making student living as wonderful as possible. The front staff are friendly and ready to assist when you walk in to the office, the managers are very involved with the residents and go out of their way to make people more comfortable, and the maintenance staff is friendly and gets to work orders quickly. I have previously worked in student housing in Huntsville and have interacted with many different apartment complexes around the area as a result. I can easily say that The Connection is one of the top student housing complexes in the area in terms of getting a beautiful apartment and wonderful amenities for a price that wont break a college students budget and being surrounded by a staff that wants to make your experience the best!!
I lived at the Connection from 2012-2016 so my rent rate changed a lot while I was there. My only complaint is the lack of communication with the tenants and management. At one point during my stay, I was paying $10 less for rent( after so many yrs, I really did forget what the rent really was) and I was not notified until I accumulated $150 in late fees. I went to the office and asked why it took 3 months to know I was being charged for late fees. They claimed to have sent me emails, to an email that was actually non existent. I went ahead and sent an email to the email I supposedly had provided and got a mailer error message, meaning they should have been receiving one too, Which at that point, they should have tried a different way to contact me. I have a phone, they can call and I live across the street, they can leave me a note on my door. To avoid conflict, I just paid the late fees and moved on. I moved out in July and I am being charged for new blinds (which I did not hesitate to pay for, because I know they were damaged) and a new carpet. The carpet was cleaned before I left. The carpet was not damaged and the person who took my room, took the room as is, which means, maintenance did not have much time to go in the apartment, change the carpet before the new tenant moved in. (I moved out by Friday, she was in there by like Tuesday) I emailed the Resident Services Manager about the situation. She did not have any proof that the carpet had even been changed. Keep in mind, this apartment already had people living in it and no one recalls a carpet change or a notification that maintenance would be coming in. Again, I went ahead and just paid the $250 for the carpet damage to avoid being sent to collections. It is now February and I find out I WAS SENT TO COLLECTIONS. I called the Connection and talked to the receptionist, she looked at my account and it states I have a $0 balance. I do not understand why collections is trying to make me pay for what I already paid. My advice to people moving out. TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU MOVE OUT AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, money order receipts, checks, bank statements, emails, everything because they will screw you over.
Move in was super easy and fun (the luau theme was really cute); the stations really helped everything move along quickly and efficiently. I almost thought that there was going to be a problem with the mail, but it wasnt the staff teams fault at all; they were actually really helpful and kind when I was super worried about it. So far Im really loving living here!
My bestfriend has lived here for 3 years, she spent the last two weeks deep cleaning the entire apartment, even relentlessly scrubbing the oven TWICE and they have the audacity to try to charge her $50 as a cleaning fee after moving out. They claimed they had to clean the oven and the toilet, which is a blatant lie and they had to nerve to say they were “forgiving” on their walk through as if she had actually left it dirty? This apartment complex is in it for the money and everything about that place screams penny pinching and they will find any excuse to get some out $ of you, even the walls are paper thin. So if you’re hoping for a comfortable relaxing experience don’t bother with this place.
I love living at the connections. I live in a three bedroom and it’s super roomy. This living space is huge. I also love the pools and all the events the connections do. My only complaint is the shuttle in the morning but I always end up at school on time so it’s not too bad.
I have lived here for almost two years and I love this place! Me and my dog sunny always go to the front office for a little treat from either Ms. Roben or Mr. Kenny and she loves it! Miss Des’tynie is always there for some pets and always happy to see sunny too! They accommodate us in every way shape and form! The accommodations are absolutely amazing and in my opinion the prices can’t be beat for what you’re getting! A fully furnished apartment, with a tv for your living room, beautiful reliable appliance, amazing staff members who work with you, and a beautiful property! Maintenance is also always super nice and even with everything they have to do around the property try and get to you within a reasonable period! So if you’re looking for a place to sign a lease PICK THE CONNECTIONS!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I am a current resident, I have had multiple issues with my apartment. They do respond quickly to resolve them but they dont really fix the problem. The internet only works some of the time, which really sucks when I am taking online classes. The gate does not close. The gym has limited hours. Not worth the cost
Reese did a spectacular job of helping with everything/ making things much smoother. Saved me so much stress.
I can’t wait to move out of here, staff can be rude not all of them but a select few. My apartment was leaking and all they did was paint over it. They plugged in about 13 dehumidifiers after the 3rd leak which was the worst and expected my roommates and I to stay there, not to mention it being around spring and 80 degrees outside and 93 inside, Nothing was done at first until our parents stepped in. Over priced for no reason, gates are always broken. You can find a cheaper place in Huntsville that’s way better than the connections.
I love living at the connection! The staff here is so friendly and helpful especially Lauren. There’s so many different events and fun little things to do ! No complaints from me so far.
Although the apartments were nice, the staff and management were terrible. During the winter months, I had an extra $100 charge to my account. Whenever I contacted management to discuss why there was a charge, a number of things then happened. First, I was told to wait while 3 other people, who came in after me, were seen by the manager simply because they knew her. Then, only by speaking through one of the front workers, I was told that they lost all of my information and wouldnt be able to tell me what the charge was for. I then asked, again, to speak with the manager. The woman went in to discuss it with the manager, came back and said that there actually wasnt an extra charge on the account. There was. I wasnt ever allowed to speak with the manager. The apartment building does have new management, but a very similar situation arose, again, during the August month of 2015. There are a few staff members who are very helpful, but most seem to be incompetent and never have the correct information. I even called 3 times one day only to get different information/instructions from each. The managers are never there; usually you have to come during school hours of 10 and 2, and good luck because theyre usually at lunch or out of the office. They will charge you insanely, so beware. That being said, the location of the apartments are nice because they are right off of the highway and near all of the shopping centers; the apartments are about an 8 minute drive from campus (2 miles or so). The only thing that made these apartments bad were the staff and management. I wouldnt mind paying for things that were my fault, but the fact that I wasnt ever able to talk with anyone about my situations (there were multiple times these things happened, not only for me but for most people I knew at the apartment). Your initial contact with the staff will not be the same for the end of the year. Such a shame because these apartments are quite nice. The gates were also never working for the two years I was there, but you will still be charged, regardless of what works or not. Also, the parking is HORRIBLE!!! You can pay to park FURTHER AWAY, but people will still park in your spot. You could have them towed, but by that time youre already in bed. Good news, few cops. Otherwise, beware.
In the beginning of the semester my roommate and I had a problem with our power going out. I called the after hour hotline and they were understanding and made my problem their first prioritize. Not only did they put us in a hotel but, also gave us a gift card to be able to buy food for the week. The connection treated us so nicely and kept us updated until they got our power fixed. I couldn’t ask for a better apartment complex, I love this place!
To start off, I emailed management multiple times about moving in early due to working in town, and never received an email back, which was very irritating. Maintenance is terrible at getting work orders done, I still have issues in my unit that management/maintenance have known about since move in day but have yet to fix. Also, the shuttles seem to always be in a hurry. I’ve missed the shuttle multiple times because they stay on campus for less than a minute. Take into consideration that students just got out of class and we have a ways to walk. I’ve been late to work for this same reason, so if the shuttles can take time to wait for students (especially when classes just got out) that would be great. Other than that, it’s a good place. However, there is a lot of room for improvement.
I was charged a high electricity bill for the month of August which is move in month right. I didn’t move in til the 16th (of that night) and the only people in there was maintenance team. I look at the electricity statement & it was the highest it’s been since I’ve moved in (been here for a year now) now how does one person who wasn’t there for two and a half weeks used so much electricity? They do special cap offers for other residents but not for all. Also the shuttles are ridiculous! Some days I wait 30 minutes for the shuttles. How do we have two shuttles and I’m waiting 30 minutes?
I stay in a 4x4 and love it here! There is so much space in my apartment and the office staff is very personable. They are always hosting events and genuinely care about residents concerns.
These apartments are beautiful, to bad theres never any parking, the gated communities you pay for are false cause theyre always open. Everyone else can enjoy the pool while tenants watch people who dont pay rent splash around and have a great time. The management is absolutely terrible, there were problems before I even got in the door, and if you pay your own rent youre automatically less important than people with guarantors. I was ask to leave because a new tenant moved in and bad mouthed me to the office even though I had paid rent there diligently after two years. And even though I had come to an agreement with the office about leaving terms I find out that theyve sent a debt of 600$ to a collection agency, and I was never told about till I got the collection call. Even after the manager accepted a personal check to break lease... think about signing or resigning cause they find different ways to screw different people!
I’ve been living at the Connections for quite a while now. When I tell you their current staff is more than amazing, especially Lauren she really goes above and beyond for her residents !!
The only thing good about the apartment complex is the maintenance team . I been there since 2015-2018 the new Management isnt worth it and they will try to get over you so please keep your receipts. If not they will try to take advantage of you . The shuttles and gates are always broken down . Yes I understand there are alot of residents at the apartment complex . So will say they try to help but they dont care and the manager will sometimes avoid an issues . But overall I am glad i left this place . Yes i know no one is perfect but i dont recommend no one to stay here .
Do not waste money I wish someone told me this, they are so nice but once you sign that contract everything else goes out the window, there’s too many issues to list, they never cleaned my apartment when I moved in during the pandemic I had to fully clean the apartment myself, the apartment they show you isn’t the one you really get! Maintenance just argues with you about all the issues and offers no help when they do decide to show up, there are so many other options then this one you will regret it!
The tour was good! Everything and everyone was really nice. Tron was a good tour guide and was friendly. He answered the questions asked nicely!
When I visited this complex Lauren assisted me with any questions I had along with showing me the model rooms. She was very nice and helpful throughout my visit!
Best apartments hands dine, Datron Dixon been on top of his game when it come to needing help in all aspects. REALLY GRAYSTAR NEED TO GIVE HIM A RAISE FRR. All jokes aside give him a raise.P.S. Ja ja ja jd
These student living apartments have better staff, parking, maintenance personal than the other student living apartments
I have been living at the Connections for 3 years and in that time I have seen the best and the worst of these apartments, but in my opinion they are they best apartments in Huntsville.....affordable prices, spacious, great amenities, and newly renovated apartments. The staff is very helpful and friendly, I can honestly say I have never had a problem with the staff in the 3 years that I have lived here. No apartment complex is prefect, but if you want the best student living in Huntsville, the Connections is the place.
Be very careful when thinking about moving to this complex. After 2 years of living in the apartment and moving out at lease end, the complex sent a damage statement. While we agreed to some issues, others were out of our control. Charging to replace the carpet in the bedroom that was very used when moved in. We also requested no pets, but after the first year they put a tenant in the apartment with an Alaskan Malamute. We were charged with replacing the furniture... We tried to appeal per the letter received with multiple emails (which was the only way to dispute), but unfortunately, we received no responses. That is of course until the collection agency started calling. Good Luck! UPDATE, to respond to the complexes response regarding we adhere to fair housing and any situation that comes with service/emotional support animals, very creative. The animal in question was not a service animal.
Basically tricked me into paying late fees. They send out emails saying you have until the 5th of the month to pay before late fees are applied but that is a lie. They are constantly changing management and the only good thing here are the amenities. They also will try to charge or fine you in any way possible and the fees are often very pricey. The only helpful/nice person I’ve interacted with in the office (that wasn’t a college age person) is Ms. Robyn. This is my second time living here and I would not recommend it. I only came back because they were having a special but have already increased their prices for next year. Not worth it.
DONT MOVE HERE.The management is terrible. Everytime you call and want to speak to a manager, the manager tells the front desk assistants to tell the caller theyre busy when they really arent. They do not care about their residents. The maintenance guys arent good. The shuttle drivers are really slow. Dont move here. The manager of the Connections will comment saying some nice stuff like shes sorry and what not and that she has addressed these concerns. Dont listen. Shes the worst of all the staff.
I love the Connection!! The staff is great and I love my apartment!!
This is my first apartment in Huntsville, and let me just say I love it so far. The staff has been nothing but helpful and accommodating to me. Over the summer they answered all my questions and helped make the move in process easy!!!
Parents- Please make sure you do your due diligence on this complex before leasing here for your children. Our son experienced two home invasion robberies (at gunpoint) at this property last year. The security system/gate was inoperable. When we approached the staff after the 1st event, we were given the run around and told that the complex was changing ownership. No accountability was taken by either owner, however we were promised for the security gate issue would be corrected. 4 months later, the apartment was again burglarized; this time with a ladder which was left by maintenance on the side of the building. Again, cameras were not working and gate still not fixed. When we discussed with the police, we were told that this was one of several in the complex. However, there was no notification or communication from the complex. Had we been aware of these, we may have made a different decision on his living arrangements.PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK....... Concerned parent.
I lived here for 2 years. While the first year was full of an okay experience besides loud upstairs neighbors that the office couldn’t do anything about besides tell us to call the police. My last year there was full of many problems. When I moved in they allowed me to move in early since I was renewing my lease. When the time came closer they stated they never said that and weren’t going to allow it. Eventually they did let me move in. When I moved in they never did any maintenance in the bedroom I was moving into. There were still holes from nails and missing and mismatched paint. We called and they stated they would be coming by to fix it and they never did. My sink flooded underneath my cabinet and after 2 workorders they replaced the sink but not the rusted pipes that were leaking. After moving out and now renewing a lease they will try and get as much money out of you from damages that were already there (stained bathtub). However on the move in sheet is says bathtub rod which I assumed was the rod and I put good. It will mean both the bathtub and the rod. They advise you to take pictures on your move out date but will not accept them when the time comes to dispute a damage. I would recommend not living here. Hope this helps any possible future resident!
OMG!!! This place is gorgeous and the manager Ryan was so helpful. He explained everything really well and was also a great tour guide. This place is definitely on my list.
I’m a new resident here and love the space! The staff here is super helpful and friendly. The connection is the best student apartments here in Huntsville. They have a lot of different amenities and it is a perfect fit for me and my 3 roomates,
My young sister lived here. This place has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing place to live. They are ran by incompetent people with management that knows they can take advantage of young adults. Management makes up excuses not to talk to the residents, forcing you to talk with the incompetent receptionists who know nothing and make up answers to get you off of the phone. Her apartment flooded numerous times from the upstairs house. Im talking water flowing out the electrical sockets and pouring rain inside, level of flooding. I had to get an attorney involved for them to even listen to her when they requested to be moved into a new house, due to the numerous extreme levels of flooding that could potentially cause the ceiling to collapse on them. They continuously have lied to her across different issues that have arisen while living there. She has stood outside and watched the receptionist tell her the manager couldnt speak to her to give her answers because they were in a meeting. All while watching the manager stand next to that receptionist and lie; refusing to talk to her after they refuse to comply with prices and matters that they told her previously. We will all continue to tell others not to live here, because I believe its disgusting to take advantage of people. I dont know how you sleep at night knowing you lie; making it harder on people who you have control over.I have been in management levels most of my career, and whoever runs this place needs to make some serious changes. Maybe give your managers personality tests to see if theyre capable before investing money in them, giving them the power to damage your investment.
When i first moved to Huntsville I found the connections and thought it was going to be a great fit especially with all the amenities they had to offer. After a semester I realized that was NOOOOTTTT the case. They put a lot of emphasis on the amenities and say thats what you pay for but let me break it down.... It has now been 2 years (three owners later) that I lived there ( Now Moving) but throughout the time i lived there.... the gates NEVER worked once. we never even got a gate opener, secondly the tanning beds.... I put in 2 maintenance request for the burnt out bulbs... 6 months later still burnt out. The renovated work out room..... dont bother going after office hours because there wont be power to half of it. Besides my few complaints it is a nicely updated apartment just not even close to being worth the amount of rent you have to pay.
Horrible apartment complex! When I moved in my room smelt like urine. There were dark spots all throughout my room from the previous persons dog peeing on the floor and the wall was chewed in the bathroom. My bathroom and my closet door would never shut properly even after they came to fix it. Do NOT get a covered parking spot. I got one and if I left my paid reserved spot after 8pm someone would be parked in it. I talked to the apartment staff and they said all I could do is call a tow truck. I called and they always said they were really busy so it would be awhile, but they never came. So I was stuck parking on the other side of the complex to just park for the night. The parking is horrible here and the staff here are not well trained what so ever. Unless you are a big partier dont bother going to the pool because you cant actually swim in it since its filled with people every day its possible to be in the water. If you want anything fixed in your apartment then youll have to go down to the office every other day until they come to fix it because unless its a major emergency like a pipe leaking it will take a week or more for them to come fix. Our dryer never got hot and we reported it multiple times and they did nothing about it and yet they tried to make us pay for it when we moved out. They will try and screw you out of as much money as they can. Pretty much once you sign a lease here you are screwed! Do whatever you can to NOT live here! The amount you pay to live here isnt worth it.
The place itself is great to live but communication with staff is the worst. Ive been charged more then what my rent really was, and when it came time to change apartments they put down the wrong building and room. Not only that but theyre now making pay a transfer fee when it was their fault I had to transfer anyway. They put me in a three bedroom when I was originally a four. Honestly, WORST staff ever.
This is my first year at Sam Houston and I was very excited about living on my own. I was supposed to move in late August, but a WEEK before, management called and said I couldnt move in for 15-30 days as they renovated the apartment. In the meantime, they placed my roommate and I in a four bedroom apartment (we payed the four bedroom rate as opposed to the two bedroom rate at his point but it was still $150 more than the other two girls we lived with). As we later found out through a mishap with a package we received from the previous tenants mother around christmas (the complex blamed us for the package going missing), the room was only renovated because said tenant was hospitalized due to black mold in the air vents. Those 15-30 days soon turned into two months. We still dont even have a kitchen drawer that was promised to be installed last month. The gates to this gated community have worked an entire TEN DAYS while Ive been here. Anyone has free range of the entire complex grounds whether theyre tenants or not. The office just shut down for their own renovations and during this time, no one could contact anyone directly about problems with their unit. Everything was forwarded to a voicemail system.Since moving in to our originally discussed two bedroom on October 15th, the dishwasher has broken and overflowed twice, you cant leave the washer or dryer unattended due to it getting stuck in certain cycles and going for hours at a time, the microwave sounds like a dying whale if its being used for more than a minute, and if you even TRY to get someone to come fix these things, theyll mark it resolved without even coming by your apartment to look at the problem.Last but not least, I used to pay for covered parking because I had already known about the poor parking situation after 8 pm. When I asked the lady who was helping me with the paperwork, she said for me to not bother telling them a space number until after I moved into the other building that I would stay in for the rest of my lease since the covered parking was in different locations for the two buildings. This was not the right information AT ALL. I was towed in the middle of the night because my name wasnt on the list of covered parkers. I found out on my way to work - super convenient. When I went to the front office to ask what happened, I waited for half an hour, watching as other people were helped before me who had walked in after me. It took my mother calling and YELLING and the property manager before they paid me any attention.Ive been paying full price for a half price experience. I will not be renewing my lease despite the numerous amount of emails from management to renew for a cheaper price. These people want nothing but money and couldnt care less about the actual people living there.
Lived here for two years. Wouldnt reccomend to anyone. Rent is super high considering what you actually get. quarterly maintenance checks are actually just whenever they feel like showing up to your apartment. Will find ANYTHING to charge you for, including emails with intentionally confusing verbiage about rent dates. New management is terrible, new resident portal doesnt even work half the time. Only reason it doesnt get one star is amenitiesEDIT: charged a 75 dollar fee for moving a dog crate from my brothers old room to the living room, which they never actually did because I was the one that moved it. Charged another 75 dollar fee for cleaning his bathroom after he moved out, which I also did myself and it was spotless. Are currently trying to charge me 150 dollars because they changed the move out date with new management from the 25th by the time the offic closes to the 24th at noon (info about having to have the key in by noon I got while I am out of the country. I come back the morning of the 24th.) My apartment flooded the second year I was here, still has the same water damaged carpet that isnt even stapled down anymore, as well as a huge hole where the carpet tore amidst moving things around. Changing rating to one star, no level of amenities is worth living here, leases are built around scamming college kids that dont know any better about renting an apartment, and management will hide behind said leases until you get an attorney involved to pick it apart. You are much better off living literally anywhere else in huntsville. It is beyond me how this complex has received best in huntsville three times. Side note: All the 4 and 5 star reviews on here are from their resident rewards site where one of the choices to earn rewards points is to leave a review. I would say less than 30 percent of those reviews are actually honest. If all the one star reviews continuously say the same thing, youd think that be a huge hint to actually do something about all these issues than just apologizing in the comments. And for the record I wouldnt consider living here again if my effing life depended on it, Kimberly.
RUN dont walk from these apartments! Heed my warning future students! I have a credit of over 5,000 dollars just posted to my credit history from 2012. Its now 2016 and they are trying to charge me with rent for a whole year when I and my mother both came down from Dallas and spoke with mamager David Bowman and explained that my roommate was intolerable and absolutely could not continue to stay in the apartment with her. My other two roommates already gotten their approval to move out an so my mother (lease guarantor) signed a written statement and agreement to pay the remaining balance for the month and we were free to go. WRONG! The balanced was paid by me but yet FOUR years later this ends up on my credit November 3rd 2016 what the heck!
I love these apartments, Reese Wilburn was in charge of my tour and she was an angel and I can tell she will be an amazing asset.
Overall an okay place to live. Office employees are never on the same page, but are friendly. There is no communication. Maintenance is slow to fix things, and does not fix things the first time. We have to pay for amenities that we cannot use. Some fees are outrageously expensive. I would not want to live here if I didn’t have to. At least it is close to campus and work.
Love living here! Good location, great staff! Only problem is maintenance is not the fastest, but honestly what maintenance is. Shuttle is pretty steady and does not break very often. Furnished apartments are nice!
Amazing staff, great residents, cant find a better place in huntsville to live!
I WONT be renewing a lease here! The tour was nice but once you experience living here stuff will go out on you and things will stop working such as: a/c unit, toilet, washer, dryer, WiFi, the key to unlock the amenities, and etc... they’ll do a temporary fix but it’s back broken again.
If you feel like wasting money or want to have terrible communication with anyone that works at an apartment complex or maybe you just never want to get a package they forget to put in the system for 2 weeks, then sign up now! Better hurry or else they might charge you for waiting, just like everything else.EDIT: After finally moving out I can say 100% that this place has never tried helping me in any situation and will do whatever it takes to get your money
CAUTION: The Connection ignored my room preferences and when the roommates corrected it on our own, we still couldn’t get management to update our profiles. Controlled entry (gates) worked often but would be partially left open. Lastly The Connection does a last effort money-grab with bogus cleaning charges at move-out. Here is an example of the move out charges you can expect. Everyone is affected by this despite what the walk-thru shows. Think carefully before choosing.
Its alright, the apartment come with a lot of stuff broken and not updated such as, when I first moved here my dresser draw is broken and my couch looks so old that its pealing. I called about it, They did nothing :( I wish when I moved here they would of gave me new things, now on my washer a knob is broken and shower water gets cold fast and lets not for get the gate to enter my apartments is always broke and the key hardly works!!!! I pay way too much to experience this in my first apartment in Huntsville. I know the management would cry OUTLOUD if any of this happened in their home.
Cute college apartment with great prices! the staff is so friendly, especially reese who gave me my tour!!
Make sure you read your leasing agreement carefully. I was promised a special of $100 for the last month’s rent as well as a $100 gift card. I received the gift card, but I was told if I signed within 72 hours of my roommate who was offered the same special I would get the last month’s rent for $100 as well. What The Connection failed to tell me was that the special operated on a first come, first serve basis referred to as “slots”. This concept of slots was not thoroughly explained until the last day of my lease, and according to the leasing manager, when I asked about it there were only 10 slots for this special. Unbeknownst to me, I just so happened to be the 11th person to sign my lease since the special started. This meant I would not receive that special, and instead of honoring this promise, they forced me to pay the full final month’s rent. Not to mention this was nearing the end of a 12 month lease which I had gone through numerous issues with German roaches in our apartment kitchen. This issue was never properly resolved.
Not only do you not get what you pay for, but the AC goes out at LEAST once a week and the water heater is never working. Once maintenance does finally come after days following a request, they are always rude and barely can fix the issue at hand. I have lived year almost a year and have regretted ever signing to this complex. The only good thing about it is that it is right next to HEB. Thats where the one star comes from.
The manager, Robin, is very rude! Overall experience while living there was pretty good, but they need a new manager. Called & she tried talking over me when I had a question. Very rude, disrespectful, & no help!
Ok y’all, let me tell you about my awful experience with this place. Ever since this place was taken over by new management in December, this place has gone downhill. They have this vision of a student based, student ran complex and let’s be real, THAT NEVER WORKS! I had to pay my rent late once, and trying to go about that process was AWFUL! After talking to 4 different people, we finally got a hold of the manager and she told us how we had to pay it and continue to pay it until my lease is up. Nobody and I mean NOBODY except the manager knows anything about the policies of this place. Everyone makes up a different story, doesn’t do what they say, and is essentially taught to just collect your money. The rent here is outrageous for what you get. The price increase is what paid for all of the unnecessary upgrades to the front office, clubhouse, gym, and study rooms in my opinion. This place is known as a party complex, so if you don’t like to party don’t live here. I had to call the on campus courtesy officer when a fight broke out in front of my front door at 2 AM, but that resulted in a “Call Huntsville PD” and them hanging up the phone. The gates NEVER work even though they have been worked on several times. Storage pods, that were supposed to be removed in June according to maintenance, are on site all the time and take up massive amounts of parking. I have NEVER seen them clean these pools. The smaller one by the office REEKS of chlorine. I’ve tested pool water levels before and I refuse to swim in this pool because I am so scared of what these levels might be. PLUS the area around the smaller pool by the office smells like rotting fish. Oh and the covered hall between your apartments usually smells awful from animal waste. There is a MASSIVE flea problem here as well, you will have to buy the super expensive, super effective flea pills for your pets. I’ve personally bombed my apartment twice. But wait, it gets better. My lease is up on July 31 and I received a call asking if I could move out early. I responded by saying that it might be possible, but I had not received a new move in date from my new landlord, so I would have to call them back. After discussing with my roommate and parents, my mother called to see if they would probate out rent out since we would not be living in the unit for the full term. NOT ONLY did they want us to pay the FULL MONTH’S RENT, but they also wanted THE NEW INCOMING TENANT to pay for those last weeks of July too. That’s an illegal act in Texas. What’s even better, is even after telling them NO WAY JOSE! I got a call on July 7th CONFIRMING my move out date of July 17th. After calling the office to tell them that I was not moving out and never agreed to that move out date, they LIED and tried to tell me that my roommate and I had BOTH sent in a letter agreeing on that date. It took my parents calling to resolve the matter and to alert the manager to what was going on. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND MONEY BY NOT LIVING HERE!!!
Staff is always helpful, slightly more pricey than most communities by Sam but totally worth it for the conditions of the living space! I never have to worry about paying a water bill, cable bill or wifi because its all included in my rent which is great! The community events are always fun (free food most times)and the office hands out free Scranton and bluebooks at midterms and finals! I have enjoined living here and would say if your looking for a place to stay in Huntsville, this is THE place to be.
When I first moveto the connection They had put me in a racist apartment and I had to deal with those people whole semester. All they had to check the apartment records before they place me into that apartment and see my roommates had forced another international student to move somewhere else in past. It has been almost two years but I still try to restore the damage I had taken there.Do not waste your money at the connection there are way cheaper and nicer places such as The Republic apartments I am living right now.
I dont recommend moving here. My apartment flooded 3 times and never replaced carpet so it smelled like mildew. They charge you a cleaning fee regardless you clean or not. They charge you for every little thing. It Takes them forever to come out and fix anything. The emergency number never works. Over terrible place to live in not happy and they stole over 700 bucks from me of fees. Dont move in I wish I never did
Literally the worst experience I have ever had. They lost my lease, so myself and my three roommates had to move in with strangers for three months until they could find us an open apartment. When we moved in one room was infested with fleas. It was so bad the entire carpet had to be removed. They lost $4,000+ in my rent money. When they found it, it was logged in under someone elses name. The reception is so unhelpful you wonder if theyre purposefully messing with you. Live literally anywhere else.
This apartment is really bad. They were trying to take money everything. Even when I moved in, there were still damages. I don’t believe if they were really fixed. Also, there were discrimination as well. It was terrible experience while I was staying. I highly recommended not to sign up in lease for this apartment. Don’t waste money at this place.
Problematic staff, that barely knows how to do their actual job. The convinces of a shuttle service is nice but its VERY poorly executed. Gates are broken 24/7, pool is almost never clean, their system randomly charges people fees for absolutely nothing. The property and accounts manger on site is nice and accommodating, which is literally the only thing not bad about this place... but its still sucky
So in your lease they have you add on the apartments renters insurance that covers their stuff only. Two people told me multiple times that I can switch the insurance to my own once I move in. When I go to do that the new manager says they aren’t allowed to change it in the middle of the lease term. The old manager let people do it. So she let some of the older employees keep giving out incorrect information. Then she says if my insurance covers their stuff she can change it and when i send it to her she says it doesn’t. It’s on the 4th page and says it covers their stuff. she just doesn’t wanna do it and i know for a fact she didn’t read my insurance information. Also when i went to ask about changing the insurance the manager didn’t even come out to talk to me she kept sending another employee back and forth when her office was 10 feet away
The apartment at move in was awful! It wasnt cleaned from the last resident before my son moved in. There was dog hair in the carpet, dead roaches in cobwebs behind the front door, bed marks on the bedroom wall from not being freshly painted. I feel like they have a captive audience so they dont try to offer any customer service at all. They are slow to complete service request, if at all. They make you pay for a full 12 months of rent even though you arent allowed keys for at least 2 weeks of that time. Ive never paid for an apartment I dont even have access to! Choose someplace else!
The connections is such a great place to live, anytime I have a problem they are supper fast to respond, especially Kenny, he seems to always be at the front desk when I go up, and is supper fast when ever I have problems or questions and is always super friendly, as well as the rest of the staff I have encountered. It is also nicely located most places you would need to go to are within 10 min drives.
It was easy and fast. I found out my ac and dryer is broken. The knob on my washing machine is also broken but it still works. I cant get the internet to work . But other than that it was fine
I haven’t had any issues until my bill started going up mind you I don’t have a roommate and Ms. Robins decided to get on the phone with a nasty attitude and hung up in my face. if she doesn’t like her job she should find a new one her unprofessionalism is beyond me not only will I go to the BBB I will be finding corporate and making a complaint they feel like they are dealing with all kids so they can say and do whatever they pleases not in this case
I currently live here, I’d say the best perk about living here is just the location. HEB is a very short walk away and parking is never an issue. Anytime I have any problems the staff is very helpful. Especially Kenny, he helps me with anything I need and always makes me feel welcome.
Im gonna keep this short. THE CONNECTION IS THE WORST APARTMENT IN HUNTSVILLE. They have 2 shuttles and Im still waiting 30-40 minutes for one to show while other apartment complexes shuttle have come and gone like 3-4 times. I was promised a TV and its been a flipping month and no flipping TV. THE CONNECTION IS A JOKE AND I LOVE HOW THEY HAVE THEIR OWN WORKERS FILL OUT REVIEWS AND GIVE 5/5 REVIEWS. If you ask the people who actually live and pay they will tell you the same. WHAT A JOKE OF A PLACE AND I THOUGHT ENCORE WAS BAD.
Probably the WORST apartments Ive come across ! I only moved here because of the 1 bedroom but for the price ($999 during 2017-18) it wasnt worth it. MAINTENANCE were the only people that knew what they were doing, very polite, and timely. As far as MANAGEMENT/ EMPLOYEES? Lol. Nobody knew anything, I could talk to 3 different people and they each told me 30 different things. In the near future please hire people that have apartment management and/or working experience and not college students that dont really care for a job. Also, the idea of finding someone to sublease your apartment when you want to move out early is NOT stated in the lease so that should not be mandatory. You should be able to end your lease early just by paying a reletting fee and move out early, finding a subleaser is ridiculous! I want to put so much more on this review but the time spent is over but I was not pleased here at all.
I moved out in December, 2018 for SO MANY reasons and Im STILL literally paying the price for living here.First off, my first units Air Conditioning unit caught on FIRE and I was NOT offered reimbursement or even another unit to stay in while that one got fixed. Second, the electronic locks broke ALL. THE. TIME. There were several days where we would be entirely locked out of our apartments with no way to get in and MANY more times it would have to be left unlocked and vulnerable because we literally couldnt lock or unlock the door. One of my friends at another unit SLEPT IN HER CAR ONE NIGHT BECAUSE OF THIS. Third, it took SEVERAL months for my unit to get a new dryer when ours was broken when we were told it would take only a couple of weeks. Fourth, at the time electricity was in one sole persons name and it was their responsibility to collect money from the other tenants, several of the roommates I had refused to pay the electricity and the Connections prides itself on conflict resolution- thats B. S. and I got completely screwed over and the Connections apartments do NOT care about you at all like they say they do. Fifth, if you have a noise complaint, you need to go ahead and call the cops and let them handle it because this complex wont do a single thing about it even with it being in the lease. Sixth, not a HUGE deal breaker, but in my 2 years of living there the gates barely ever worked, which defeats the purpose of a “safe gated community”. Seventh, the AC units broke all the time and we were constantly having parts replaced- keep a cooling fan in your room as a back up at all times. Finally, the whole reason Im posting this review now instead of 8 months ago- I moved out December 31st, 2018 (the electricity was not in my name through Entergy, it was transferred over to the apartment complexs name and they split the bills themselves to send to us individually beginning in July/August, 2018- we had NO way to control our billing and we werent provided any information regarding accounts) and Entergy is charging me now for December 28th, 2018-January 3rd, 2019 because The Connections DIDNT CONTACT ENTERGY IN TIME TO CUT OFF THE SERVICE (which was their responsibility and not ours as tenants) AND ENTERGY WONT REMOVE THE TRANSFER CHARGE FOR THE DAYS I LITERALLY DIDNT LIVE THERE. It says in my lease Im only required to pay electricity until the day my lease ended but here they are, charging me for DAYS past my lease expiration. The only positive experiences I had with The Connections was the maintenance was always on point with my unit, even with all of its problems, and they were always very nice and a very nice and helpful lady named Lindsey Spurlock did her best to help me and my roommates and was able to help change and shorten our leasing agreements due to our borderline nightmare-ish experiences :(
LOVE living here!!! There are so many amenities, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Last week, I had a problem with my keys and internet connection. Within the same 30 minutes, a staff member Kenny resolved both problems and was super friendly!
In the last 10 years three kids come to Sam Houston this is the worst apartment complex in Huntsville Texas. Please Beware of this Apartment complex The management team is very rude and disrespectful with no people skills. I love the city of Huntsville and I love Sam Houston but this apartment complex is the worst in Huntsville Texas.
I pay $535 for a 4 bedroom and It does not have air in my room . The air works in the living room but when you come in my room nothing. I am suffocating and the ceiling fan doesn’t even help it just circulates the hot air. I have one box fan but I’m going to have to buy at least two more this is ridiculous! I put in a maintenance request and they didn’t even fix it. I also put in a maintenance requests for my ceiling fan to have a light changed, they entered my room and didn’t even change it . I also put in a maintenance request to have my bed tighten and they didn’t fix that either, I’m trying to figure out what did they do when they entered my room. I hate living here, and it is a complete waste of money. I am so mad I have a full year lease, I don’t know how I am going to survive living in this hell hole.
This is the worst place they lie and try and make you feel stupid, there Maintenance team go into apartments without notice there have been break ins cars stole and so much more this is not a safe place to live
I really like living at the Connection at Huntsville because the maintenance is prompt, and there arent unnecessary apartment visits by management. Also the pool parties are great. The only downfall is during the summer the pool can get kind of disgusting and the hot tub isnt always operable.
Watch out before you sign the lease!!! The Connection hides things in their lease and will charge you for things that are suppose to be the Landlords obligations of normal wear and tear. Your carpet can be spotless but they sneak in a carpet cleaning fee into their lease after move out. NOT RIGHT!, Especially to do to college students.
Moving to The Connection in Huntsville was an absolute mistake. The manager is a scammer. They sent me an email stating that if I can get a friend to sign a lease with them I will receive a gift card for $300. The staff has been giving me the run around for 7 weeks straight. Everytime I call or stop by asking about it, they say that its on the way. Ive never worked for a post office but I know for a fact that it should not take almost 3 months for a gift card to come in the mail from Amazon. Its not that I dont have the money because I pay my rent on time EVERY month. Its the fact that I am being lied to. I did my part so now I need the connection to do theirs. This place is an absolute joke.
I really love staying at the Connections!! The staff is nice and welcoming. For instance, a worker named Brian is always there to help. Also Roben and Kathryn have helped me a number of times. I am happy I stay here!!
Just moved in first of the month love the customer care and how vast the area is internet is awesome 100Mbps with 3ms latency looking to see if this can be improved on love the door locks I hope they implement garages the on site gym is all that I need thank yall look forward to attending events
Great prices for all types of units, easy lease process and very friendly and helpful staff. Nestled in a good neighborhood, only minutes away from HEB and a major highway. Ive lived here for two years and all aces so far...
Still no accountability under the new management and all the 1 star reviews are deserved. Dont waste your money living at a place that doesnt take its customers seriously and wont work to make your stay there less of a headache while attending college and having a job.
Very nice apartments, bedrooms are spacious and bathrooms are nice, computer lab/printing room is so useful! Neighbors are police with noise levels, there’s a security button to press Incase of emergencies, very well maintained.
I love the connections apartments, I’ve been here for some time and everyone one here is extremely nice and friendly they handle all your service needs in speedy time!
Wow!! Out of a whole complex, The Connections only offer 20 people to extend a lease for 6 months.I have tried to take to management numerous times but the manager is never on the property. I have grandchildren that live there and now they have to move because of it.
I love living at The Connections! They have friendly staff and the location is wonderful. Just today I received help from a man named Brian. Brian took the time out of his day to help me when I was in an emotional state. He remained calm and gave me useful solutions to my problems.Thank you, Brian!
If you want something delivered, prepare to wait a long time or have your order canceled because your delivery driver *will* get lost. Not only are there 3 separate sections to this complex with different gates on 2 separate sides of the street, but the appartment numbering is completely illogical. Apartment 101 is next door to 108, 102 next door to 107.
Walking in the apartments was breathtaking and the Rickia was just as amazing very helpful very friendly and definitely a good saleswomen. Excited to sign today
Hi my name is Aubree Howard! These apartments are great! Walking distance within grocery store and town y’all spots, and great hang out spots at the community with chill study rooms, also a great community and great scenery
We have tried to have a conversation with your manager at The Connection Apartments in Huntsville Texas. Your apartment manager is very rude and inconsiderate. We have been trying to get into contact with someone from management company that owns complex but we’ve been unsuccessful.
The apartments are pretty modern and nice! You do pay for what you get! The access to the gym is convenient and I love seeing all the dogs!
Staff is helpful. The people are nice the community is quiet and very peaceful. Everyone pretty much stays to themselves. No problems thus far will probable renew when its time.
The shuttles are so slow to say that we have two. Apartments are disgusting everything was broken when me and my roommates moved in with bugs like roaches and spiders, counters were Uncleaned. Maintenance and front desk people are horrible with bad customer service.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Its one of the furthest units from campus, breezeways are dirty, its noisy, management is rude. There are hidden late fees that accrue by $5 everyday after the payment period on top of the $75. YOU STILL END UP PAYING LATE FEES NO MATTER WHAT. You only get one pass on being late and it only terminates the $75 charge. I was only late once in 12 months. I already have a BBB complaint against their shady practices. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
DO NOT CONSIDER!!!!!! My first year at shsu and of course wanted to live somewhere nice and ALL THE CONNECTION HAS GOING FOR IT IS HOW GOOD IT LOOKS!!! They tried charging me for the electricity bill that was left unpaid by the previous tenants, I was charged for SOMEONE ELSE damaging my door, they gave me a WARNING for my pet and tried charging me the $100 after I took him back home so I wouldnt be charged! HORRIBLE!!!! MY ROOMMATE DIDNT HAVE A LEASE AND NOBODY IN THAT OFFICE HAD A CLUE SHE LIVED IN A 4 BEDROOM APARTMENT FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. Dont even waste your time here unless you want to deal with problems every month!
Datron is AWESOME. Very polite and professional. The property is also beautiful
Nice apartments. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. Thank you for trying to charge me $345 for a leak that wasnt my fault. Just because there is new management doesnt mean you can try to charge the current renter for everything in the past. Live here if you want to be screwed over and taken advantage of.
Im moving in to a shared space here this complex is fine. The amenities is more than enough the students like others experience different things its clean and pools / spa; fitness is nice!!!Critters lol 😘
I have loved living at the connections! The ladies that work in the clubhouse are just so nice and helpful. There is so much room to walk my dog outside as well!
Great location and office managers are so helpful!
I couldnt get out of my lease after being switched to a totally diffrent apartment with three random guys I didnt know. It affected me so much it started hurting my mental health severly do not recommend.
I always have the nicest lady named Nicole anwsered the phone! She’s great at answering questions and with help and she’s so good I’m writing a review! Haven’t moved in yet, but already excited based off the nice employees!
Stopped to check out the Connection in Huntsville TX. Reese helped us and answered all our question during the tour. Very knowledgeable.
Tron did a good job at easing our minds when looking for apartments. Coolest guy ever :D
I had a wonderful experience at The Connection. Skylar was very helpful and knowledgeable. I really appreciated her attention to detail and would recommend these apartments to anyone.
Ive asked for maintenance to come fix our problems numerous times & they have not come back to do what they said they would. Our apartment still has moldy items from the previous tenants that we were told would be removed and many other issues. My main problem is with maintenance.
Im so happy my daughter decided to stay here for a third year. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Anytime my daughter has gone to the office for help Brian has been very helpful.
Had many problems with this apartment. Staff doesn’t try. The connection will try to get as much money as they can out of you. Internet is decent at best. Save yourself..
I love living here! The people are amazing and Katherine Smith the leasing director is always open to helping and making sure my experience is the best ever!!!
The new team are great people. I love my apartment and we are able to paint our walls so I made it look really cute. A great place to be.
I really like living here. I moved in during August and the staff has always been friendly and helpful and the overall look of the apartments is nice
Reese Wilburn gave me a great tour!
During our tour Reese was extremely knowledgeable & answered all our questions.
Bryan did a great job answering my daughter’s questions! So far getting her started with her lease as well as answering a variety question has made me love this place for her!Thank you Bryan!
Over priced for the quality of apartments. Front office doesnt not reflect the quality of the apartments in the slightest. For the money there are newer better options in Huntsville.
I am a current resident at the connection and I absolutely love it here. The staff is super nice and they always have awesome events going on throughout the month.
Ok place to live in a college town. If you have any contact with the main office personnel, be ready. They are helpful to an extent but dont seem well versed when you ask detailed questions.
I wouldn’t wish my worst enemies to live here, this apartment is an embarrassment and should be sued
I like the place because is clean and nice....theres things to do without leaving the place. I like that they take care of the apartments. When theres a problem they fix it. Love it!
The staff here has the worst attitudes. They are so rude and stuck up and I’m not sure how they are even allowed to act the way they do. They are 100% the reason I did not lease here.
Great place to be. Maintenance is slow, but the shuttle is great! There is a nice pool and the apartment is pretty big, considering the price.
Overall the complex itself is decent (rooms, sizing, amenities, etc) and the new system implemented for electricity has made it much less stressful living here- i was screwed over several times from roommates not paying electricity and the management was no help with this situation as it was through entergy and they cant do anything so the new system makes it fair and i dont have to worry about that now.
I absolutely love this apartment! It’s so safe and the staff is so helpful and nice!
Love it here! Clean, peaceful, and the staff is so kind. I have all my maintenance issues handled quick and everyone does it with a smile.
