Horrible service. They say it takes a week, you better triple it. Then double again it for all the load bearing studs they cut out and have to be replaced and failed inspections. But it gets better when they get done they send a bill for more than they should and refuse to answer to come fix the stuff they failed to install correctly like a heat pump with no thermostat. And after multiple attempts to try and reason with them on the bill they have their lawyer send a threatening letter! STAY AWAY! They are THE WORST IN THE BUSINESS!!
I had this company come out to my home earlier this year because when i have my heat on in the home, it automatically shuts off and blows a fuse when it hits 61 degrees. and because i have to go into the basement and change wires over from heat to AC depending on the time of year. I called Crystal heating and cooling because a friend recommended them. Brandon Knipper came out to my place. I turned the AC on and it ran. It didn’t shut off while he was there. He was at my place for 2 hours. In those two hours he was talking on his phone most of the time. At the end of the two hours he told me there are a lot of wires that are loose and I needed a new electrical strip that he will look into getting. I am handicap and it is extremely difficult to get in the basement. I have to go down there and switch wires over from the heat to air and back depending on the time of the year. Brandon did state he would fix all of this. A week later he called me and asked if the air conditioner was running still. I told him it was. The call ended. I called him back a few days later and if he got the electrical strip, and when he was going to fix the rest. He said, “I talked to you last week and you said it was running so I’m not fixing the rest” i wrote them a letter and Brandon called and said he told me all these things that he put in his report that he never said to me. He said he will come out and not charge me to look at the unit. We will see how that goes and i will update this so you know.
Terrible customer service!! Can I give a negative score? Our property flooded and our well needed some attention, there was some leaking from the cap and we needed to have our well shocked. Andy came out but after quite a bit of prying and trying was unable to get the cap off of our well, the leaking was much worse after his attempts. He was very frustrated that he wasted 200 gallons of product and made my wife feel like it was her fault that he couldnt get the cap off. He said he needed to bring a different truck and machine to take care of the problem. Well that has been several weeks ago now. My pump is still leaking like crazy, I have tried 2x to call to have them come back out to finish. Last time I talked to them (after holding for 10 min) , Andy said they may need to put a different type of cap on the well and it could cost me a couple hundred bucks. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. Called again today and after holding FOREVER, they told me that Andy was out and he would call me later. Seems to me like I am getting put off. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! Also, in the midst of all this they tried to dump me off on another company with more well experience feels more to my wife and I that they are just not wanting to finish what they started!!!
Over the past few months weve had issues with our air conditioning not keep up during the heat. Weve had 3 different employees from Crystal come out and look. Not one of them could find any sort of leak or anything wrong with our unit. We payed them hundreds of dollars in labor and service calls for them to do nothing. Today we had a employee from Star Refrigeration come out to take a look. They found the issue within 5 minutes. We will not be calling Crystal for anything from now on.
I called and asked Andy how much they charge to clear a clogged sink. I was told $100 per hour, which included the equipment and everything. I asked how long he thinks it would take, and he said it all depends, but they could come out Monday between 8 am and 9am.I got a call from the plumber at 7:51 asking when he could come out. I said right now, because we were all home.Plumber arrives and I show him where the problem is, this was approx 8:05-8:09.At 8:09 I was in my office just 15 feet away from where the plumber was working and messaged my coworker via our work instant messenger that the plumber was here.The plumber said that it was grease based on how greasy the snake was coming out, and I asked him how much I owed him. He said these are normally billed, but it shouldnt be much because he wasnt here long. I showed him out, yelled at my husband for pouring grease down the drain, and came back to my office to message my coworker to tell her they were done already. This message went through at 8:29. He was here no more than 20 min. I was thrilled and so impressed - I told all my friends and family how great and efficient and cheap they were.I get the bill several days later for an hour and a half of work, plus drive time. I called and the lady had Andy give me a call back. I explained the issue, and his response was defensive and abrasive, I dont know how a sewer call can take only 20 min. Ill call the plumber and call you back because thats what he billed us and thats what we paid him for.I never got a call. Instead, I got a bill for an hour of time instead, plus drive time.The customer service is atrocious, and their plumber is dishonest and sneaky to lie about the amount of time he was here, despite having time stamps on my instant messages to my coworker and my husband as a witness. I have filed a BBB suit, and Andy is still saying the plumber was here 1.5 hrs but they adjusted it anyway.Additionally, had I known they had a minimum of 1 hour service charge (HAD THEY STATED IT WHEN I ASKED), I would have had the plumber stay and fix other plumbing issues I had to make up that hour, not have him leave after 20 min and still be billed the hour! NEVER AGAIN.
Furnace was turning off and on during one of the coldest days of the year. The on call after hours tech helped me troubleshoot the issue over the phone and saved me hundreds of dollars on a call that would have been for nothing. He even followed up with me later in the night to make sure everything was still working without ever charging me a dime. Great customer service!
We had a whole HVAC replacement and water filtration upgrade done by this company. Even before that, called them about 40+ year old AC that took a break on a 90+ day and they helped us out immediately. Responsive and knew their stuff to make our farm house comfier at an affordable rate. Our new go-to techs for plumbing, heating, and air.
Our furnace was not working again at the office (which I was told the last time you guys were here, as it is an older furnace) and someone was out within the hour and I had heat within 15 min. of them arriving. Brandon was super helpful and gave me lots of good information to give to my boss, since he was not in the office at the time that he came to fix the furnace. Thanks again for coming out so quickly and the GREAT service!!
Worst experience I ever had. For 2 months I tried to get them to come out and put a backflow valve into my sewer line and run a camera in my line. They kept putting me off and in the meantime my sewer backed up twice. When they came out on the last service call the plumber was very rude until i confronted him on it. Then when I called the following Monday to talk to Andy he was no better. Still did not have the back flow valve instock (dont think he ever ordered it) and instead of being apologetic was also rude. Bad attitude and bad customer service. I fired them. Would never recommend them to anyone,
Terrible communication. First time I stopped in someone was supposed to call me back same day. Didnt hear from them so I stopped back 2 days later and finally got the parts i needed. Then had someone come out to look and set up an appt for them to come fix it. They didnt show up or call to let me know. When I called I was told they hadnt got the part yet. No call to let me know they werent coming.
Andy and his team did great work on our Radon system. They scheduled us in a timely manner and were very responsive to any questions/issues we had. Will use them in the future!
I called Monday morning to see if they could get my AC back up and working. They got it sorted, even with having to order a part from out of town, by Tuesday afternoon. The bill even came to be far less than what was originally quoted to me as a general ballpark. I couldnt have asked for more professional and quick service which was much appreciated on the hottest week in summer so far.
Fast, high quality service done expertly and affordably priced. Ordered a new AC and installed the new unit to replace broken AC unit in less than 48 hours. The best part, it cost less than the ballpark quoted. 5 stars!!
Very poor placement of radon system and not leaving work sight clean when leaving. not putting thing back the way they found them. Such as having to replace all my floor in bathroom after they pulled it up and placed a radon system in basement bathroom when it could of been placed in laundry room. Very poor business do not recommend for anyone to use.
Left a huge mess, didnt clean up afterwards. Called and asked what the standard operating procedure was for employees cleaning up messes, was treated rather abruptly by who I think was the manager/boss, saying that he gets complaints either way. People complain when they leave a mess that doesnt get cleaned up, or they complain when they get billed $100 an hour for cleaning up.Ultimately, this is a review of the customer service I received over the phone, which I considered to be rather hostile and defensive. I was not present at the time of repairs.
Zero stars wasnt an option.....TERRIBLE. Installed new tub, within month of using, the drain leaked into the basement. They didnt seal it properly. Now less than a year from install, the tub has a crack in the bottom. So now I will have to patch a brand new tub, because we have tiled around it and would not be able to tear it out without removing hundreds of dollars of tile work. Definitely stay away from them!
Im only rating this as a one only because I cant give them a 0. They put off visit and came after hours charged 1.5 then came back the next day drove by didnt call or even knock at door to ask to move car out of driveway. Yep, you guessed it we got charged for 2 visits.
Brice Hutt from Crystal did a great job helping my Mom and her neighbors with their flooding basements tonight. He was very prompt for an after hours call and did all he could to help with the situation. Much appreciated!
Horrible experience. Rude on the phone when scheduling an appt for radon. Then when I had water in my basement they had no clue what they were doing and fixed nothing. When someone else came out they couldnt believe what a terrible job they did. Said it looked like they had no clue what they were doing
Plumbed an apartment and failed to hook the shower and washer drains to the main. However, this was done in an underground drain so concrete was poured over it and they stamped it approved and several months of the tenant taking showers cause the ground under the apartment to turn into a pool. Then the pool found away to the basement apartment hallways a ruined ceilings and carpets. My crystal experience was not “ Crystal Clear “

They came in had no idea of what they were doing wouldn’t help us clear out the water of the basement! Charged us 300 to give us no answers and didn’t even know what the situation was when they got here. Do not recommend!
Left my yard a absolute disaster, left big ruts, did an awful job on back fill (did the bare minimum) didn’t even back fill the trenches, left a very low spot in the yard, have had standing water in now for 2 months, promise to come look at it never showed, spilt/leaked diesel or oil in multiple spots all over the yard killing the grass..... I do not recommend....
They replaced our exhaust inducer on our furnace and charged us $587 for just the part. Looked up the part on Amazon and other websites could have gotten for under $300.
Theyve always been very responsive/prompt. I trust them enough to leave the doors unlocked to let them work on things with no one home.
