Do not apply to lease a home with these people. The eligibility requirements are ridiculous and you might as well purchase a home elsewhere. Very unethical and unprofessional. Debbie Burr was the realtor for a home I was trying to lease, already had approval from the owner but because he was under contract with them we still needed to go through the application process, no problem I met all criteria and income requirements. Paid the $44 application fees, provided all documents that Debbie said I needed to provide. My husband is self employed and was told that his 1099s would be sufficient no problem. Debbie then comes back to say the 1099s would not work and wants last 2 years of tax returns. I did not want to provide those because my income has increased tremendously in the last 2 years which I would think is everyones goal each year. However after discussion I was told I could provide a year of bank statements, in which I did and in a very timely manner literally by noon the next day. At this point I am under the impression that this is all that needed and the next step would be to sign the lease. However after providing the documents which provided more than the required income needed and the fact of me taking my valuable time to gather these unesscary documentsall while I am working myself and the fact I had already provided the original proof of income asked for at the beginning of my application I was sent an email stating they decided to go with someone else while i was gathering my requested documents. I am not sure how this process is usually done but I was under the impression that since I was the first applicant and paid my application fees that my application would be throughly considered before taking any other applicants and gathering more application fees. I know for a fact that my application was not completely considered as my current landlord was not even called to see how we are as tenants ( been at my current residence over 5yrs along with never having a late rent payment) . I know that Deborah pretty much talked the owner out of leasing to us and for why I do not know, I can only think is she personally knew the other clients or something similar. There should not have been any other applicants until my application was completed and accepted or denied. I know my application should have been approved as we met all criteria that was required by the owner. Taking other application fees while the home is pretty much under contract is very unethical not only to me but to the other people applying. Also wasting my time to provide documents just to say you were already looking at other clients is shameful and very disrespectful of my time. If you are looking to lease a home from here I would stay far away as your time and money is not respected and they choose people based on their personal feelings and beliefs. Like I said this was a done deal between the owner and my family but because the owner had just signed the contract to use them for the application process and was under the impression he must go with their recommendations he did and Deborah for reasons unbenounce to me made sure he chose other clients in which there shouldnt have been any to choose from until my application was denied. I suggest to elsewhere.
