We built for the first time using integrity and couldnt have had a better experience. They helped us find a lot and made the design process very easy. They were always up front and transparent about all costs. They were much faster than many of the builders in the neighborhood and base on what weve discussed with our neighbors. We dont have any of the problems they had with their new builds. Every one on the team was a pleasure to work with...highly recommended!
I waited one year from the time I moved into my home to write this. Overall, the home seems sturdy, but it was extremely overpriced and does not match the value I expected. I felt that there was a lot of bait and switching. The guy we signed a contract with seemed experienced, but the day after our loan got approved, we were introduced to our 23 year old contractor. They told us everything was high end, but then charged us extra anytime we wanted anything above basic. They told me there was money in the loan allotted for the upgrades I asked for prior to closing the loan, but that was a lie. They put special wording in the allotments to trick us into thinking we had included things in the loan. This was supposed to be a custom home, yet every time I showed them something specific I wanted them to put in the home, they told me that they only purchase products from specific companies so I would need to buy something from them. Their designer was snobby and asked for more money when we realized that the appliances we picked went way over budget and changed them to fit that budget. Finally, and most egregious, there were delays in getting our electric and septic permits. They told us everything was fine and bragged about being able to build the house with generators. The reality was that when I asked to move our house back on the property, they never properly checked that this would cause issues despite being aware that the flood zone was close by. Instead of keeping an eye on the permits which could have revealed this issue much sooner, they ran power cords to our neighbors temp electric pole and simply stole their electricity. This kept happening even after we told them to stop. Once we found out about it, we pushed for our own pole, which should have been installed several months prior, but then found out that the house had been moved into the flood zone, which started a nine month battle with the permit department. This cost us a lot of money because we were renting at the time and kept having to push back our lease, while paying more for the construction loan. Overall, working with them was an extremely overpriced and preventable nightmare.
