Magie is a great lady she is all the time with a smile, face, and friendly behavior. All stuff at the Berkshire the Rims is so friendly and professional and has great and fast services .I will definitely recommend the Berkshire at the Rim Community to all my friends and relatives. It has a great, clean, and friendly environment .I have been resident since 2023 and renewed my contact for another 15 months, and I will not leave from Berkshire at the Rim until I move to my own house. Maggie does such a wonderful job keeping the amenities looking great and ready to use on a daily basis! Justin and Kim are very welcoming in the front office anytime I visit and are readily available and helpful with any concerns I may have! This complex is kept clean and maintenance is very responsive. 10/10 recommend! 👍
I’m overall really impressed with this community! The gym, lobby, and pool are always clean and kept up, and the entire office staff is quick to help with any problems. The maintenance staff is really helpful, they respond quickly to emergencies. I also consistently see them picking up trash around the property.I have enjoyed living here for the past few years, and definitely find it comfortable and inviting.

I come here to charge my car often. I think it looks like an amazing apartment as the bathrooms, mailroom, front desk and lounge are always spotless. Definitely a great spot for me. Amanda is the manager and she is really nice with a caring, professional attitude.
Ashley is the Assistant Manager and was extremely helpful! She explained and broke down a ledger balance that was confusing. She explained it in such an easy way to understand. I would definitely recommend this apartment complex and Ashley herself. She’s very nice and always happy to assist anyone!
I would love to know what building the people leaving reviews stating it’s so “clean” live in because that is a laughable statement. Building 2 is horrendous!! The moment you walk in the door you’re hit with an odor. Better yet before you open the entry door it’s a strong stench of urine from the lovely residents animals who piss right on the wall of the entry. There’s cobwebs covering the outside of the door that’s been there for months. There are residents who dump their trash in the lobby instead of waiting for valet trash (especially since we’re now being charged a hauling fee of $10 on top of the $25 you’re paying for valet). It’s even worse when they do it on a Friday and it sits there over the weekend stinking the place up even more. The reviews also mention Maggie the cleaning lady, she is nice and sweet, that I’ll agree with, but it’s just her cleaning the five buildings here, so your lucky if she comes once every 10 days or so. The elevator floor is usually a disgusting black from traffic, trash and animal waste. I toured in Oct. 2019 and moved in Jan. 2020 and I’ve had the pleasure of living here when it was at its peak with Greystar. There are very stark differences in the way the property has been run since Berkshire took over. Who sends an email to residents telling them not to come to the office and to communicate via email? How do you get to know your residents? Even with emailing there’s still a HUGE issue with communication. As of today it’s been two weeks since I emailed about an issue and I’m still waiting for a response from Amanda. But let her tell it she’s always here lol. The office staff contradicts that by saying they’re short staff at other properties and Amanda has to go between both. How is that my issue? Not even a touch base to say they’re looking into it or nothing. If you want to enjoy living here, find out what buildings these 5 star reviews about cleanliness are because IT IS NOT BUILDING 2. It’s so gross here that we are now seeing roaches. It started on the first floor and now we’re seeing them on the fourth floor. We’ve enjoyed our home (specifically the inside of our unit) but we’re done when the lease is up. And I guess I should prepare myself for a bunch of bs charges based on other move out reviews. We’ve been here 4 years so of course they’ll have to paint and replace carpet, things I thought were normal wear and tear but I guess not. We have a cleaner come once a month and planned on doing a deep clean upon move out, but we might as well save that money if we’re going to be charged for everything anyway. It’s just fees on top of fees on top of fees. You’re charged two utility billing fees, an amenity fee (I get this one) and as stated two trash fees. This place is a joke now. When it comes to maintenance, if it’s not Rudy, you’ll be gaslit about your issues by some new maintenance supervisor whom seems way in over his head. He doesn’t communicate to the staff what’s going on. When you call or stop in to follow up (yes I go in) they have no clue what’s going on. I’ve tried submitting emails to corporate about our issues but apparently those submissions go to the property manager who hasn’t been doing her job and that’s why your reaching out to corporate and on top of that she STILL doesn’t respond. The third maintenance guy, he works hard. I believe it’s him who has to do more than required because of the disgusting residents here. The dog park is full of crap and the whiff you get when walking by is 🤢. He has to go and clean all that up along with collecting the trash left in the lobby area. Lastly let me touch on something that really irritates me. The breaking of entry doors from people who didn’t have key fobs before, to not having an entry code. Maybe the money used to redo floors could’ve been used better.. maybe. To sum this up, lease at your own risk, inspect before you sign and read your lease agreement bc they sneak in additional $15 fee for reporting to your credit. Maybe this review will garner some attention.

I have been a resident here for several years and let me just say that living here has been amazing a 10/10 experience. It is a very well kept property with communicative management, many amenities and even a group of residents who puts on all sorts of events for other residents really bringing a sense of community. If you’re considering living here i’d say you’d be making the right choice.

The installations are really nice and clean! The gym has the necessary equipment and it’s always clean. They’re always cleaning the pool as well and the personnel is attentive to your needs. I moved to Berkshire a couple of weeks ago, and so far its awesome. It is very quiet, the grounds are clean, staff is super friendly and the free coffee in the clubhouse is delicious. I have a three bedroom and the view is spectacular! I love the high cielings and the double vanity in the master bath. The soaking tubs are very nice too! I love that I am walking distance from so many nice shops and restaurants.

I have been living here for the past two years! The apartment complex is very nice and they give you a fresh apartment but once you settle in they forget about you. I have been calling the office for ONE YEAR, to have our windows cleaned with no response or timeline whatsoever. These floor to ceiling windows were the reason I moved in, and it seems they will be the reason I move out too. Not worth the “luxury” price pointUpdate 1/1/2024: Now is 2024 and still my windows are not clean…they sound responsive in the reviews but they are really not…have left voice messages and they never return my calls….sometimes Im able to get them on the phone and still say “management is trying to approve the budget for this”…we will celebrate with management the two year anniversary of my windows being dirty, move to this complex, come and celebrate with us 🎉🎊🎉
Ive lived here for about 4 months now; good things are- good maintenance staff, clean facility for the most part, safe area & locationBut the horrendous parking situation (Had spent 1-2 hours looking for a parking spot at least 10 times in the past 4 months) You have the option to buy a covered parking spot for 50/mo but its binding & cant cancel until lease is over (garage is like 150+/mo lol)in addition there are so many rules that are not enforced whatsoever; if you wish to sleep at all on weekends, Id recommend living either in the corner buildings or dont live here because college students will completely trash & scream their heads off well into 2-3AM almost every weekend & some weekdays.This apt also has idiots who love to blast music at full volume with speakers in the middle of the night but will act upset if confronted about it; Ive had to knock on peoples door to ask them since the courtesy officer wont do anything. (He is an off duty officer apparently.)so if you have a job that requires you to sleep at night & you sometimes come home late after 9pm, living at this place will stress you out weekly. As someone who works night shifts & weekends, it drives me insane that people are having crazy loud parties at the pool every weekend even though the pool hours state that its specificially closed at 10 daily.

Although Berkshire is a nice place to live, I felt that staff were inexperienced in informing new residents on important stuff. I was locked out of my apartment for the first two days and didn’t received any compensation. Told that there was no reserved parking, but they were. There was hardly any car parking. Finally, I was charged $300 for pool bands that I rarely used on my move out. The place itself is nice, but I felt that management didn’t perform on the level of Berkshire The Rim.
Love the place, Amanda helps us solve any problems we may have and Maggie is very friendly and kind! The amenities such as the pool and gym are always very clean.

Leasing office never answers the phone, when you try to go in it says they will return at a certain time, horrible parking if you do not have a car port you will not have a parking spot. Pain for guests to visit. Place is dirty all the time. People are noisy. I never felt safe here due to other resident incidences. They will charge you an absurd amount for a move out fee. $700 is insane. ($180 for paint is insane, carpet clean $162 all they needed to do was vacuum). I would never recommend this place to anyone especially a young single woman.

Moving to Berkshire has been a great decision for me. The apartment itself is very modernized and the staff has been great (especially Justin)! The location is perfect walking distance from restaurants or stores, which has been really convenient.
Berkshire at the rim is an amazing place to live. The entire team there is great and responds to the needs of their tenants. The team is small, and Ive noticed a lot of people complain about communication issues regarding the phone. Its like 4 people, give them a break, theyre amazing humans, and they cant answer the phone ALL the time. Maintenance was always quick and the apartment was lovely. Definitely recommend, and its in a great location
Justin at the front is absolutely amazing! My boyfriend has lived here for 2 years, and recently they started strictly enforcing their towing policy. It is very understandable due to the high amount of traffic in The Rim. Unfortunately I got towed, but Justin was extremely kind enough to educate us on the new policy and worked with us on getting my car back. Such a life savor and couldn’t have asked for a better customer service experience. Thanks again Justin😊
My daughter moved to this property a week ago, and if I could I would have ended her lease the same day. I am reading some of the reviews that claimed how clean the place is! Lies, at least not her building. We encountered debris everywhere, beer bottles in the elevator, the hallway and the elevator are filthy. The fire alarms were going off in the building that day, no one bothered to check them. They didn’t clean the unit until the day she move in. Which still required us to clean again. The staff is not friendly. My daughter had packages delivered snd they claimed to have put them in her unit. All of the packages were delivered on the same day, but only one was left in the unit. When we asked the front office about the packages one of the staff member said my daughter could notify Amazon that they are missing! She didn’t even try to see if they had it! We had to go back and ask them twice about the package’s, show the photo from Amazon depicting were they left them at the apartment door. Then they finally call and say they thought the previous tenant had ordered items and they had the packages. If that was the case why didn’t they look at the name on the packages. She still didn’t get all of them back: So if you want to pay for an over priced unit with limited upkeep this is the place. She will not be renewing the lease!!!!

The current conditions are not only disappointing but reflect a lack of accountability that has become increasingly frustrating for residents.Interactions with your leasing agents and office staff have been consistently unprofessional, marked by dismissive, rude, and condescending behavior. Do not lease here. Ive been living here for over a year and Im moving out before my lease is even over because I cant spend another week here. A few days ago, I drove home at noon and left again a few hours later to run errands and my car had been stolen. In broad daylight in front of units, a security guard driving around, and a gate that honestly anyone can get through-- my window was shattered, car was hotwired and then gone. There are only cameras in the front by the way-- none where cars park.I told the office *in person* what happened and then emailed them later that night to inform them I got a rental car that will be parked in my assigned spot for which I pay extra monthly. The rental car was then towed by the office. I asked them why I didnt get a response from my email about my rental car with maybe the extra steps to make sure I wouldnt be towed, the office told me that I was not entitled to a response. So, you can give this place almost $3,000 a month and still not be entitled to communication from the office. This doesnt include all the times other people have parked in my spot and the office would call those drivers to have them move their vehicles instead of towing them– I didn’t get a call before my rental car was towed out of my spot. People also park here on the weekends to shop and party in the units and they don’t get towed. But you will get towed if you try communicating with the office about your rental car that’s parked in your spot that you pay extra money a month for.This also doesnt include the day-to-day issues. I know these things can happen at any complex, but spending extra money and living in a good area doesnt mean anything when it comes to this place. I received better communication from a college apartment complex that I spent $1,000 a month at.

My boyfriend and I have been living here since last November and we have had no issues what so ever! The complex is clean, staff is friendly, approachable and attentive on resident’s needs. And the community itself is quiet and neighbors are friendly as you pass by the halls. Just an overall great vibe and community!
I don’t move in for another week but the leasing alone gets a 5 star, Justin’s been great very informative, very clear, great on communication, fast responses, made the leasing process a breeze, after I applied he reached out the following day, I didnt even need to call to follow up or check status because he reached out so fast not to mention he was very accommodating when it came to communication. I work during the day and it makes it hard for me to be chatting on the phone and touring but he was able to send me pictures, videos, floor plan options, pricing, information, answered all of my questions and kept me well informed throughout the process without me needing to go in person or take multiple calls throughout my work day and compared to multiple leasing offices in this same general area they by far are extremely prompt when it comes to possible future residents, they wont leave your app sitting there for 2 weeks before calling you, you’ll get a call right away and they make leasing such a breeze….
As I mentioned before, great staff!! We moved in and have been very pleased with our apartment. We have worked with the maintenance staff and the dynamic duo as I call them, have been awesome to work with. They respond quickly with my requests, very skilled with the work they do and are personable individuals. We have lived in apartments for over a decade now and have worked with other crews before these two. I am very impressed with the service they provide. We love this place!

Decent property. Units are maintained and clean. Pet droppings pretty common around the property. Parking is a nightmare unless you pay for a garage. Never enough spaces. Expect to park at Lifetime or Tribute if you come home after 10pm.

I lived here for 2 years. The apt itself was nice and well maintained. Loved the location. I had some issues with old management that is not worth mentioning here. However, upon a recent visit to a friend who lives here I noticed that the name and management have changed, but what caught my eye is how the place is glowing clean now. From the clubhouse to hallways, windows, conference rooms, bathrooms, dog parks...etc. everything just sparkling clean. Read all reviews and choose wisely.I am extremely disappointed with the move out statement I have received. It is excessive. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this with the office. During my two year time at Berkshire I was patient with things that were not acceptable, especially for the amount of money spent on rent. Gates and doors were frequently broken. During one lengthy period of time that the gate was inoperable, my daughters car had the catalytic converter cut out and this happened directly across from my unit. This was close to $1000 in repairs. There was dog feces on the grounds on a daily basis.Yes, the amenities are nice. Location is fine. The maintenance team was prompt and professional and I appreciate them. But the cost of rent and all of the extra fees and then the final financial blow on the move out end leads me to the place of not recommending this complex. You have lots of choices.

This is without a doubt one of the best complexes I have lived at, with a very professional staff. HOWEVER, they offer a fraudulent and deceptive program called Rent Plus. Incomplete details, unspecified penalties, and personal injuries to residents is possible. A complex like this should not cheapen its reputation by less then honest programs.Management has been advised, but the program is still offered. RESIDENTS BEWARE OF RENT PLUS.
One star because it was a pretty cool place to live but WOW they charged $320 for cleaning fees out of no where and did not bother to reach out to me or send me any kind of warning call email or letter and sent the fee directly to collections. Terrible way to do business, I know they always say to be careful dealing with apartments complex’s but be extremely careful when dealing with this place a very shady establishment.

I wish I could give this place no stars at all. Please DO NOT LEASE HERE. Unless you want to waste money and time during your living experience. You could spend the same amount, or less, at a different complex that is worth it.The only good thing about this complex is the apartment itself. That’s it. The unit we were staying in was nice and furnished. But everything else always had issues or were not working compared to other places I’ve lived at. During my application process and the duration of my lease, there were always portal issues, our documents being lost and having to re-upload or re-email our documents multiple times, package lockers not working, nobody answers the phones you have to ALWAYS physically go into the office to talk to someone. Management hardly communicates information in a timely manner. Most times we wouldn’t know what is going on with issues or that there are issues until we physically go in and ask them about it. There’s hardly any parking after 5pm in the free spaces. And most mornings between 7am and 8am is mowing or other insanely loud noises. Normally I wouldn’t mind, because all apartments do this, but you can hear every single noise so clearly from your units. Lastly, the outside of each building smells of pet urine constantly. I’m not sure if they spray down the buildings or issue courtesy emails for this. Was excited to live here at first, and sadly, slowly became disappointed, annoyed, and discouraged.UPDATE:My lease is now over and it got worse and worse the longer I lived there. They issued eviction emails to people if they kept their trash out outside of hours, but the trash people NEVER picked up our trash on designated days for days at a time. Whenever you complain to the front office they claim they “can’t do anything” because it’s through a third party. Berkshire wants to charge you extra for every little thing but at the same time can’t do anything to help you, give you further info, or hold themselves accountable because of these third parties. Same thing happens when they charge you an obscene amount at the end of your lease, then when you go to get proof of why they’re charging you all these exit fees, they again claim they can’t do anything because it’s through a “third party” and refuse to give you the information to contact this third party to get claims settled.Again, PLEASE DO NOT LEASE HERE.

After attempting 3 times to view the apartments I was turned away by staff every time. I give up I couldn’t imagine if I lived there how bad they customer service would be. Who ever is managing this place needs to re train or hire people with common sense.

Don’t do it. They might look pretty but that’s about it. Management doesn’t know what they are doing. I lived here 2 years and had to move because there is always issues with these apartments. During the June one of the hottest months, my AC stopped working. Sent a request to get fixed and for a whole month kept complaining about it for it to finally be fixed. That whole month I couldn’t even stay at my own apartment since they didn’t even offer no solutions, not even a fan. My dogs and I were cooking in there, I had to stay somewhere else. Still payed my rent and my electricity bill was ridiculously high although I couldn’t even stay there at all for the whole month. Now, that I moved out, it’s almost been a whole YEAR. I’ve been calling and calling and my security deposit hasn’t even been returned. They keep saying they have to email/ figure out what is going on. My security deposit was a whole months rent $1,345. Still no reply from them.
Justin was helpful. He was very personable. Maggie was friendly and answered questions that we had about the apt.

Lived here for 3 years. I had decent experience for the first year until new management took over. Later 2 years were horrible experiences that management didnt understand their business for delivering safe and comfortable living environment to their tenants instead telling me that I can move out anytime with early moving out penalty. What kind of management they were? IF tenants feel this place is sit, it means you didnt do your own job properly.

Please read the reviews before moving in.Ive lived here for barely two months & already regret it. As if paying rent isnt enough, you now have to pay extra for a covered spot/garage to be guarantee a parking spot otherwise its a first come first serve with other residents & visitors. Theres been several issues but this was icing on the cake.Theres never any parking & was told by staff that I can park across the street at Lifetime Fitness parking lot... Im in shock that this is the recommendation they are giving their residents. Im discouraged to even leave simply because I never know if Im going to come back to a parking spot. Residents should have priority parking but thats not the case.Repsonse time from the office is so bad - they dont answer the phones when you call & emails are extremely delayed. You truly wont get a response unless you show up physically. As a new resident, im extremely disappointed. I do not plan on renewing here.
The atmosphere, amenities and location is amazing! Plus, the staff is just to die for! Heidi and David are always so kind and helpful with any request I have. It truly feels like home here. I will definitely be resigning here next year. Plus, the nature trails across the street are an added bonus!
I lived here for over a year the experience was pretty good maintenance request was always fast. David always was the one who helped me with all that i needed and was very nice. One downside is the parking absolutely sucked and some residences did not know how to clean after themselves and there pets in the buildings
Beautiful brand new property in the perfect location. Floor plans are all amazing! Sabrina, my leasing agent was such great help. Management here leaves much to be desired. Getting in contact with them over the phone or email is virtually impossible. Emails and phone calls always go unanswered. Security here is nonexistent, constant break ins and yet we’re never notified for our own safety. During the hot months, the amenities are always overtaken by outsiders due to the lack of security and oversee of the property. This is not a “you get what you pay for” property. High prices with low standards, very sad. 2+ years now.Came back to edit this post to state that there was a shooting that occurred on the property the other night. A man had an AK-47 and yet still no security here on the property. No word by the management team either of the occurrence.

Lived in the complex for a year. Twice cops were called for gun fire (casings found during walks), dog poop isn’t picked up, exterior doors are constantly broken, entry gates broken.Constant drag racing on the streets, loud music always playing, thin walls, only nice area is club house but not during summer months. Broken bottles in the pool, vomit in the pool.Management is NOT helpful. Only excuses and broken promises. Unorganized and lack of communication. Gave a 90 day notice to the email address provided, they claimed they didn’t recieved it and charged 1 month at a higher rate for month to month. Took 90 days to get deposit check back. 6 months later recieved a collection notice for water bill and administrative fees, yet no contact was attempted and access to portal was terminated after refund check issued.Do not rent from this company or location. Looks pretty on the outside but horrible management and maintenance.
I lived at the Berkshire for a couple years while it was under the old management and known as the Retreat at the Rim. I really enjoyed my time at the Retreat, made some great memories and the facilities were well taken care of during my lease.My girlfriend still lives there under the new management, Berkshire, and I regret to say that the property has gone downhill. The public spaces are extremely dirty and trash has begun to accumulate in the stairwells as shown in the attached pictures. This is attracting small bugs and rodents and creating an awful stench.When trying to call the office about this during their normal business hours, we got no answer and were never called back after leaving a message. This is a a common theme we’ve seen, the office is exceptionally unresponsive to phone calls and is often rude when having to deal with them in person. Responsiveness and professionalism is an easy fix that would go a long way, especially considering the cost of leasing an apartment at this property.A lot of the public areas also feature broken amenities. We’ve noticed door handles that have fallen off, a gate that almost requires you to scratch your bumper to open it with the FOB & good scraps/garbage scattered around the property.
I was attended to by a woman who cleans the place, she was a very good worker! Her name is Maggie, she is super polite and keeps the place very clean.

The Retreat at the Rim has been the best apartment complex I have lived in. The apartments are beautiful and spacious, security features like fob accessible hallways are great, and I have not had any issues with any residents or noise at all. The amenities are great, including the state of the art fitness gym. David in the front office is extremely friendly, professional, and makes sure any maintenance requests get handled quickly. By far my favorite place to live.

The Retreat at the Rim is by far the nicest community at the Rim! It’s super well maintained, the customer service is phenomenal and the biggest shout to Adrian for providing such a wonderful experience as I’ve searched for my new home. Adrian has gone above expectations and proved that living at a Grey star community is by far the best decision you can make!
Love living here everything is high class and it really feels like I’m at a retreat. I love the apartment size and it’s many nice features. I love how quiet it is here. The only thing that needs improvement is parking. It’s extremely annoying when you have can’t find parking and need to park far and outside the apartment complex.

I have lived here since April 2020 and absolutely love it. The location is absolutely perfect and every resident I have encountered has been so friendly and easy to get along with. I recently transferred to a new and larger apartment in the complex and David was so helpful and made the transition easy. Highly recommend and Im looking forward to another year here!

Place is super nice. Beside that you’ll be driving around all night trying to find a place to park. Had to park arcoss the street and got my vehicle towed, so just watch out where you park if you can’t park here at your own apartment complex. As well the club house always seems to be closed can’t even go use the computers for work. Yet we pay to have those services and don’t even get them. Retreat was currently bought out and prices went up dramatically.
I’ve been living here for over a month now and it’s been a great time so far. Adrian is super helpful and always has helped me by answering all my questions or concerns. The apartments are super nice and the environment is peaceful. The amenities are wonderful! I recommend The Retreat At the Rim to anyone looking into moving. You won’t be disappointed.

I dont like posting bad reviews, but I only do it when it is absolutely necessary. It is sad that a really nice apartment complex is not properly taken care by the property management, there is dog waste on many balconies facing the pool, and looks and smells horrible. The pool and grilling area is only accessible until 6pm, supposedly because there is no one to supervise after the main office closes at 6pm. Theyve been telling us that they will resume normal hours, but that has not happened. If you take a tour, pay attention to details and ask many as questions, look at the patios and the community very well. Tribute next door has resume grilling areas and they take better care of the place with a better market rent. Its very disappointing that an apartment complex like this one, with an extraordinary location close to everything has not been taken care ,especially with the amount of rent we pay. Please be careful and make a decision wisely.
If I could give a 0 star I will definitely do that. This used to be a great place and the staff was amazing thats when grey star was management. But out of no where we went under new management and they are trashing the property. They also over charge ever residence with any source of explanation. They will not return calls or give the residents or property the attention they should. They are the best detention of horrible. so do your self a favor and don’t rent here!

Lived here a year. The only good things about this complex is the actual apartment (its very nice and tidy), the gym, the location and the some of the other tenants. Thats it. They advertise the apartments close to UTSA so theres students moving in and out which is no problem, but the parties they host at 2 or 3 am are no fun to anyones sleep. Management is the absolute worst, the gate has been wide open for weeks now because its broken and no signs of repairing, one of the entrance door at the building I was at had its handle broken for more than 3 months; and to put the cherry on top, you cant find parking at the free lots past 6 pm.
Do yourself a favor and do some research before moving here. It looks really good from the outside but the best thing about this place is location. Other than that, were ready for our lease to end. The management here takes more of a parenting approach. From receiving mass emails regarding late payments for other residents, repeating the dog rules multiple times, or communication on something broken that takes forever to get fixed. Now its taking away amenities because some residents break the rules. We now have to walk all the way around to the main gate by the lobby because 3 of the 4 gates are locked with chains and ironically these are the ones that residents can access. Plus you have to go through security to enjoy the pool and he sits there the entire time. They implemented wrist bands but even that failed since we have to lock gates. The mgnt approach needs to be adjusted before this place improves.
Love, love, love the service! David always take care of my clients and rolls out the red carpet. The aesthetics and amenities are incredible, but David is the one that ties everything together and brings the experience full circle. Keep it up!
I visited the community and the entire staff was so amazing! Especially Amanda the customer service was more than 5 stars. I am from out of town but definitely want lease at this community once I transfer 😊

Unless you want to drive around for hours unable to find a parking spot at your own home, I wouldnt live here. They tow residents who cant find parking. There arent any visitor spots and there are at least 100 open carports that are unused that they could open up but they don’t. I thought about renewing my lease but not anymore this is the worst complex in the rim area hands down
This used to be a fairly decent place to live aside from the lack of parking, which is bad. There is no guest parking because residents must utilize all available spaces. Since new management has taken over, it is horrible! RUN in the opposite direction! Initial changes were implemented without notification. Forget having your calls returned and emails responded to. Lastly, if you’re allergic to dogs, this is not the place for you. The elevators and indoor hallways are not well maintained, dog hair and scent is everywhere!
I have had a good experience here at the retreat. I enjoy how close I live to the mall, restaurants, activities, etc. & The Retreat is located in an amazing spot too, it is on the back side of the RIM which makes it feel more like home, with less commotion. Overall, I enjoy it and I just moved in a few weeks ago.
I wanted to thank David Padilla for being so helpful during the application process. He was very patient and also made sure to explain every step very throughly. Applying for a new place to live has always been such a hassle for me because they have made it stressful in the past, but thanks to David it was super easy and quick. I am super excited to be moving in soon. The staff seems very reliable and make you feel right at home.
There’s absolutely no parking space every time I come home at night. They do not have a plan on fixing this issue whatsoever. They want tenants to pay for a carport or a garage as if they’re not already charging too much for rent. It’s first come first serve basis but everyone who’s a paying tenant shouldn’t have to worry where they should park every day. Fix this Heidi before we have to deal with corporate.
I have been debating posting about this issue for over two months, but chose not to, as I’m not one to leave bad reviews for businesses. I have been living here since September 2019 when it first opened up and parking has always been tight but over the last several months as the community is “fully leased” it has become a nightmare. I work late nights and on several occasions have had to park my car across the street at lifetime fitness or drove around for 20-30 mins and wait for a spot to open up for me. There are so many college students or younger people who are visibly parking their cars at the community while visiting a resident and leaving them there over night. There was even a uhaul truck a resident had parked in a spot for several months and the management never did anything about it. They have SO MANY open car ports that they could assign to certain residents to elevate the parking issues, but instead they’d rather be greedy and wait until residents get frustrated enough to pay their ridiculous prices for carports. Now they are enforcing “resident parking tags” and instead of making an effort to make this a smooth transition, they are towing resident vehicles and expecting us to deal with the costs. No effort was made to call the residents to warn exactly when towing will begin just vague emails and poster on entrance door saying it will “begin soon” and to pick up your parking tags. Not to mention they take our license plate #s, make and model of vehicle, so I’m not sure what the use of that is if you’ll tow your residents regardless. They expect community visitors to strictly park outside the gates, which is maybe 20-25 spots, makes perfect sense considering there’s several hundred apartments in the community. How is anyone suppose to have people over?
This is by far the best apartment complex I’ve lived in, even better than other neighboring apartments I’ve lived in at the Rim. It’s secure, clean, and the apartments are well updated w smart locks and lights. The staff is so helpful and kind and I haven’t had a bad experience here yet.
Beautiful luxury apartments that is close to everything I need. This will be my next apartment for sure. The best part is Pets are welcome. Looking forward to calling Berkshire my new home!

I’ve lived here 15 months and because of how helpful David was, I’m staying another year!!! Can’t say enough positive things about this guy and this apartment.Have had zero issues with management, apartment amenities have been nothing short of great.All in all due to the apartment and office staff (Especially David) I’d give this apartment a 10/10.
A friend lives here, went upstairs to get them, came back 15 minutes later and our car was towed. Mind you, we BUZZED INTO THE APARTMENT COMPLEX the way any guest normally does. NOWHERE on the gate buzzer was there a sign that said GUESTS WOULD BE TOWED. Called the leasing agents and all we got was a “sorry, guests can’t park inside”. WELL POST THE SIGN ON THE BUZZER instead of sitting in the leasing office doing nothing. As we were leaving, there was approximately 4 tow trucks picking up other cars. Mind you, it was a Tuesday at 3:15pm. Clearly POOR COMMUNICATION from management to residents bc do you think residents would buzz their guests inside the gates KNOWING management would tow their guests? The answer is no. Do BETTER. Absolutely unacceptable.Do yourself a favor and don’t sign a lease here or invite guests unless you want your cars to be towed. I’m sure you’ll see other guests and residents leave reviews about the parking situation soon considering the fact we saw about 3 cars get towed in time span of 20 minutes.
Website crashes while I’mPaying rent and there’s over $150 Of charges, no flexibility. No penalty for management though for literally never cleaning our filthy windows (can’t reach them on third floor) or getting a wasps that we can’t get to. Oh and our front door to the building was broken for 3 months. Real secure guys.
Don’t waste your money living here we have 5 months leaving here and we have a lot of issues with our apartment (air conditioner, carpet with cat hair, doors of our building, the apartment was very dirty when they give it to us, there is always dog poop every where, the gym appliances are broken since 3 months ago, where cucaracha in the apartment) but the thing that really make us mad was that last Friday the tow take our car because “it wasn’t registered as resident” and we do registered as resident because we have our access to the residence and Berkshire apartments just said that they can make the reimburse of the money that we just pay to take our car, this is not fair they just charge us 222 and they are not give in it back, we can’t wait to our contract to end to move from here this suck.
This property has exceeded all expectations, I am so excited to get moved in. The staff is sweet, patient and very helpful & amenties are exactly what I was looking for. The price is perfect for the area and so many choices nearby for eating and shopping.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars if I could their parking sucks and there is never enough actual parking for residents causing us to park anywhere we can find which in the end causes us to get towed anyway. The staff is unhelpful and shows no remorse towards the actual residents that live here when the towing occurs. I’ve been towed 3 times already within a one year lease and trust me we will never be coming back. Find a different apartment complex unless you’re willing to fork over extra money just for a carport or garage when you’re already paying an arm and a leg for rent.
The property is always clean and kept organized, and Maggie does an amazing job of making sure the property is always kept to a higher standard.

IMMEDIATELY regretting renewing my lease here. Incorrect charges since Berkshire took over, Ive rented with this management before at a lower rated complex and quite literally ran as far away as possible (or so I thought). Communication is terrible and Berkshire taking over has completely ruined my experience here at the Retreat. Ill be looking into ending my lease early and finding a new spot. It is THAT bad! Do yourself a favor and do NOT rent from Berkshire communities.
After attempting 4 times I was not able to get a tour. The leasing agent were all very rude and careless about showing the apt. I would never move here because imagine if I needed something and they are never available.
Took a tour last week to this property, and it is shame that such a nice apartment complex is very dirty. You can easily tell that the gym and hallways of the property don’t receive any attention. The outside grillers next to the pool are all dirty as well. I was sad because I wanted to move here, but it will be even worse to live there.
Recently toured the community and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately we have made the decision to stay in the Dallas area so we will not be moving. But when the time comes for me to make the move to the SA area this is where we will be. Thanks again David for all your help you were awesome and provided excellent customer service.
The Retreat at the rim has been the most phenomenal property I have ever lived at. I’ve recited at the Tribute, Infinity at the rim, The Villas and Elian. The attentiveness of the whole staff is beyond extraordinary! Let’s put it this way, when you live at the retreat at the rim it’s like living with friends and family!
Worst place to live. Management is horrible. Broken gates. Bar b q pits have been broken since we moved in. When your on a lease tour ask them to fire up the bar b q pit. They have failed to fix it for over a year. Check out the gate to enter on the side next to tribute. Has been broken for over 1 year. I made the mistake and signed a second year lease just for the convenience but it has only gotten worse. Infinity at the rim is way better. Don’t sign a lease here!!!

Too many issues to list all but here you go: someone recently shot in parking area, the doors and gates have been broken for weeks, its filthy throughout, car break-ins and theft are routine, lots of noise and partying day and night. Staff does not care!!!
Berkshire maintenance team responds to work orders in a timely manner and resolves issues professionally. Michael and Rudy provide excellent service and keep working on an issue until there is a resolution.

Completely inconsiderate of residents’ guests. Towing cars in the middle of the day to the opposite side of town. Management never gave a definitive date to when towing would begin. Guest have to park at lifetime or YOU WILL GET TOWED!Why allow residents to buzz guests into the gate if they can’t park inside of it.
The emergency line to leave a voicemail is pretty much the same line if you’re calling for a none emergency issue. I called for an emergency issue after 7pm because I was out of town, but I didn’t get a callback until after 10am the following day. Please fix it before a real emergency occurs and it’s too late when the entire building has burned down. Thanks.
Pool is BS. Letting nonresidents fill the pool. Always shut down for BS reasons. Almost every door has a broken handle. The staff never answers the phone. The indoor area for the residents is only open until 5 (library voices), and the dog park smells and needs cleaning.
I tried doing a walk in and appointments by email. The worker Natalie in the front desk declined several times saying she couldn’t do a walk in. Then never sent me the info for an appointment then when I did my own appointment they never followed up. 0% recommendation.

Love that my packages get stolen/misplaced on a regular basis and then when you bring it up with the staff they try to blame you instead of taking it as constructive criticism to try to make some sort of change to the establishment.

Been here for about six months now, and my stay here has been pretty pleasant. I can’t say I have any complaints, the leasing team tries to do their best to accommodate any questions or concerns you may have.
The location is beautifully maintained by Maggie. Made me feel right at home and comfortable.
Very well kept apartments, staff is really nice and helpful with leasing . Nice pool area and great fitness.
First of all they have yet to fix the gate code 2nd of all they take forever picking up the trash up to a week and 3rd of all someone got shot at the apartments tonight 02/19/23 do not recommend living here !! Super thin walls as well
I cant wait to move in to my new apartment. The view from my balcony is amazing! Overall the property looks kept up.
I have lived here for two years and this month 5 packages from my door have been stolen. Its very sad. I cannot wait to move out of here. Unless you want your packages stolen, do not move here.
