I previously lived at Hidden Lake for 3 years, and only moved to be closer to work and my daughters school... (San Antonio traffic is awful due to construction).During my time there, I was lucky to have the hidden gems, also known as, the leasing staff. Madison and Alexis are the kindest and most helpful, resolving any issues or answering any questions you may have. The maintenance team is on point, quickly taking care of any maintenance requests, day or night. These guys work hard and ensure that everything is up to par.Living here was quiet, with a great mixture of families and singles, no nuisance on the property.Since leaving Hidden Lake a year ago, I cannot even explain what a difference, in a negative manner, Ive experienced in property management and apartment living. If you are lucky enough to call Hidden Lake home, please be sure to remember to count yourself lucky!

Nothing but good things to say about Hidden Lake. It’s very conveniently located, nice trails in the forest, a well-kept Main Building/Office with incredible staff. I remember that the primary staff member I toured the complex with back in June/July was with Alexis, and she was just amazing. After I moved into the complex, my roommate lost his wallet outside back when the apartments were having a fire inspection, and Alexis found it and brought it back up to us. The staff here is amazing, the maintenance workers are on-time and effective at fixing issues, and the nature ambience is beautiful. The only thing I would beware of is seeing raccoons out in the woods sometimes. They’re kind of clumsy and run away screaming if you cross paths with them. They’re not an issue at the complex, it will just startle you on the off-chance that you see them. The lake has lost of good fish, beautiful Herons, cranes, egrets, ducks, geese, squirrels, and a small sorority of deer.

Has potential to be a 4 or 5-star place, really. Place looks good and clean. Washer dryer already installed, water heater is better than at my parents. Great stuff. Our immediate neighbors are nice, and while likely unique to my experience, the rest of our neighbors park and drive like animals. Parking so crooked theyre on both lines, people all over the complex parking in front our our building. People park with their mirrors few inches from my door. Dents on my car appearing overnight. Commerical vehicles. Giant trucks and trailers. Cars in obvious disrepair taking up space. Getting in and out of the place is dangerous and always congested. The lake is gross, attracts tons of roaches, pest control is useless even after fogging the unit. The lake doesnt even have somewhere to kick a boat off of or a decent shore to fish from. The amenities drive up rent by another $200, and they suck. Valet trash has gone whole weekends without picking up the trash, then will leave a note with the veggie tales on it (do they have the copyrights?) saying the bins too full like they havent taken it out for 3 days (i know they dont come on Saturdays, but they wont pickup on the friday before, or the sunday after often). Management is often unhelpful and pushy if not curt instead of courteous. Maintenance doesnt do the job right most of the time, but Im sure theyre swamped and theyre pretty decent folk. But wait, theres more as I havent even gotten to our actual apartment yet!Simply put our unit wasnt ready for move in. None of the baseboards were sealed in the entire unit, letting in all sorts of bugs. Tons of cracks and openings in every nook and cranny thats supposed to have caulk or SOME sort of seal, even in the door. Speaking of the door, it didnt open right when we moved in. Had to tackle it to get out. It got eventually fixed. The door handle broke and gave me a nasty gash. Long screws poking out the master bathroom cabinet next to the toilet and TP holder, like 5 inches long. They replaced it with a big thick block to hold up the cabinet door and it blocks the TP holder so we just have a roll on the counter instead of the holder! Window screens had holes. Vent handle stuck. Fan in second bathroom doesnt work. Tons of mold in master bathroom. But Javier, why didnt you inspect the place then give management the inventory and condition form?Oh, I did.We moved in on a Saturday. Gave us 24hrs to check it out. 24 seemed a little short, but whatever. Next day, i go to the office with the filled out form. Closed. Day after, closed. The following day. Closed. The DAY AFTER THAT, finally open. Madison didnt accept the paper, because its past 24 hours like they werent closed for 96. Straight up looked at me in the eye, telling me they werent. Thats a pro liar at work.Roaches. So many roaches. We dont leave food out or have our unit warm or otherwise attractive to them. We have seen hundredes of roaches. Theres a 75% on any day well see 3-5 roaches. Cant even watch tv without one or two trying to crawl on my leg.The cell service sucks, its hard to make a phone call in the middle of my home! I have to go somewhere else if i need to make an important phone call if the other party wont email or text.Fire sprinklers were painted over with the landlord special, thats a huge fire hazard as they were unreadable up until they were fixed. To be fair, outside is nice and pretty if you dont step on poop. Its everywhere. All that being said, I wouldnt recommend Hidden Lake to someone unless I disliked them. If the price matches the quality, I wouldnt exactly be happy, but my expectations would be satisfied. I could spend no more than $700 monthly before I would be dissatisfied. Lucky for me, im paying more than twice that.Hope this helps. I dont need much to be happy. But this place is a downgrade from the ghetto place i was in prior. Id rather be there.

In my experience, this apartment complex has exceeded my expectations.Upon discovering this location, I lacked any form of transportation assistance and was distressed as I attempted to locate an apartment complex that demonstrated honesty and responsiveness to my calls and emails. Furthermore, I felt a sense of relief upon realizing that the images and videos accurately depicted the interior and exterior of the complex.During the year I lived here, the staff and maintenance team were always on top of everything. They kept me updated about events, food trucks, important reminders, and pool closures. I am immensely grateful for always feeling safe and cared for while living here with my family. I wish I did not have to move, but my children need more room and a playground.

I’m not one to leave reviews that often, but I feel the need to leave a review here. I have been a resident here going on 3 years now. Prior to living here I had never resigned a lease, I always did a 1 year term and moved. The staff here have made living here make sense. I don’t have many issues, but any time I have had an issue the office staff and maintenance staff were quick to address it. Most recently, I had my AC go out, and I’ve always heard horror stories from friends in other apartments who have their AC go out or another appliance and they’re waiting days or weeks for a fix. I was worried I’d be without AC for a few days, I submitted a work request at the end of the day around 5pm and by 6:30 my AC was back up and running. I cannot say enough how appreciative I am of the level of communication and willingness to quickly address issues the staff here has.

What an experience I have had! (In the best way possible)I had the pleasure of meeting with Alexis with a tour. She talked to us, had an answer for all my questions (believe me, I had a lot). She was personable and we had a great vibe.Unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience with my previous apartment. So Alexis gave me the piece of mind I needed to apply the next day.I also spoke with Madison and Makayla. Everyone on this team was super patient with me and my questions but made me feel super comfortable. The community is beautiful, it’s quiet and it’s surrounded by nature. Which was what I needed.Living here now, I couldn’t ask for a better team to help me get here.I appreciate all their help and I look forward to staying a while.Thank you Alexis, Madison and Makayla. One year later - I just renewed my lease! I cannot express enough how amazing Hidden Lake apartments have been. To the maintenance team, to the management team has been so graceful, patient and understanding. I don’t imagine me leaving anytime soon.Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to call Hidden Lakes, home.

Hidden Lake is almost like a well kept secret. Ive never heard of it, and yet, after touring it, Im kind of glad its tucked away. Its gorgeous. There is an actual lake that runs adjacent to the property, and I was told residents can fish (catch and release only) or kayak. The property was well maintained and clean, trash areas were clean and uncluttered. I toured several one bedrooms and was impressed with all floor plans. The prices are absolutely reasonable, they are not trying to gouge your eyes out. The apartment comes with incredible amenities, including smart home technology, valet trash, washer and dryer, and even a pathway that leads to HEB! Their gym was also impressive. I toured with Alexis and she was very meticulous and customer service oriented. She made sure I understood everything from the application process, to the monthly charges, to move in, etc. I would have signed a lease that day, but my move in date changed. I cannot wait to reconnect with them in the fall and hopefully make this my home!

I’m not one who typically writes reviews, but I felt that Hidden Lake warranted a review. We moved from across the country to San Antonio and were in town for approximately 3 days, touring 6 different apartment complexes. Honestly, Hidden Lake wasn’t originally on our radar, but I scheduled a tour at 2am about a week before the trip because I wanted to tour at least one complex in a on the west side of the city. I am so thankful I did, and I am giving Hidden Lake 5 stars for the following reasons:Customer Service/Preparedness: Hidden Lake was the 4th complex we toured during our trips, and we had great customer service from almost all of the complexes we visited. We collected a handful of documents from each complex, but Hidden Lake was the only one that gave us a physical folder to hold all of the documents we brought home. Not to mention, they were also the only apartment complex to give us a copy of the leasing policies, which you would think more places would give out. It may not be a big deal for all, but my wife and I felt that Hidden Lake was more than prepared for our arrival. We interacted primarily with Madison, and she really helped seal the deal. She was very professional, personable, and she always had an answer to my questions both during the tour, after our move in, and everything in between.Proximity: Hidden Lake is adjacent to a huge plaza that has (seemingly) everything you might need and many of these businesses are just a short walk away. The fact that I can walk to the grocery store or one of several restaurants for dinner is peak convenience. And if I can’t walk, I can just hop in the car and be somewhere in 5-10 minutes.Aesthetic: Even though I just touched on how it was great to be in close proximity to everything, Hidden Lake feels like just that: hidden… and with a lake. From the first time we pulled into the complex, we noticed the number of trees and the prominence of nature around the complex. We wake up and hear the birds chirping in the trees outside our window, which is something we did not imagine would be happening when we moved to San Antonio. The tree cover is great for our dog and keeping the ground cool when it inevitably gets really hot.Maintenance: When we arrived, the apartment was clean and there were no major issues with the apartment. Even when we encountered an issue with the kitchen sink leaking, maintenance came shortly after we placed the maintenance request, fixed the issue, and we haven’t had any problems since. This is already so long, and I haven’t even touched on the smart technology package, the amenities, the community, and a host of other factors. If you take anything away from this review, it would be to come and tour the complex, so you don’t have to rely solely on the reviews of others.

The apartment is nice and peacful. However, if you plan on leaving well the exit becomes hell. The apartment complex adds awful evil hidden fees. Lastly $100 - $200 Damage/Cleaning fee despite no damages and already clean.

Update: Emailed the regional manager that has responded at the bottom twice now and received no response. We have officially filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office. If you are considering moving to this apartment complex, I HIGHLY encourage you to read this review before making a decision. It can potentially save you thousands of dollars, literally!!!A few months into our lease, we get a note on our front door stating that my speed bike sitting on our balcony needed removed ASAP or there would be consequences. Interestingly enough, I noticed in the handbook it stated nothing about bikes not being allowed on the balcony. And, our balcony faced the woods. Meaning management went out into the woods to stare at our balcony. Which didnt surprise me, I did see the GM Amy staring into peoples apartments a few times while walking our dog (yikes). But it gets worse. A lot worse. However for this incident - they did apologize for their mistake and withdrew the letter. I mean, where would I even put my bike? They dont provide bike racks in their complex. When it came time to move out, my husband emailed them a notice 60 days in advance that we were moving out. They responded back to him stating the notice needed to be written so it didnt count. Now, there are two forms of communication - verbal and nonverbal. Typing is a written form of communication, but we will leave that to legal to decide when it comes down to it. Therefore, they are charged us a $1,249.00 reletting fee as the emailed notice did not count. However, they gladly accepted the next email, when they had my husband write it out on a piece of paper exactly what he previously emailed, took a pic of it, then emailed THAT picture of it, funny enough. But it gets better.Once we moved out, they sent us the move out charges after inspecting our apartment. THEY ARE CHARGING US $915.73 TO REPLACE THE 4x4 FT PIECE OF CARPET BY THE FRONT DOOR FOR WEAR AND TEAR. I have attached the exact picture they sent us for reference. This was by our front door, and the carpet they installed was originally an off white, which is naturally going to get dirty with people walking in and out of the front door. The Texas Bar Association has stated landlords can not charge for wear and tear of carpets. So I dont know whats worse- the charge itself when it is clearly natural wear and tear, or the fact that they are charging $915.73 to replace that piece of carpet, since thats the only piece that claim is damaged? Either way, we are waiting for this to hit our credit scores to proceed with next steps. We have documented everything on our end. Oh, and each time we have CALMLY explained these two charges to the debt collector they have calling us, they either get extremely rude or hang up.We also experienced roaches, racoons that get into your trash every single night, and trash valet never shows up during the hours posted. We documented that too. Trash Valet shows up at 2 am after the animals have already shredded your trash then leave a cute note stating they wont pick up your trash since the animals got to it first. This review serves solely as just a WARNING to those who may be considering renting from here.I have attached below the photos received by management of our carpet and what the Texas Bar Associations states under Texas Law for reference.

My move-in experience was a little on the rockier side. I had complications getting signed documents proving my income and employment. In hindsight, I should have asked more questions and either applied months earlier or a week later. Aside from that, everything has been absolutely incredible. The smart home features are a nice, modern touch. In spite of not having designated parking, I always find a nearby spot. I have yet to hear noise from those living around me. At most, I might hear folks if I’m doing something by my door. The lake is… there’s a lake!! There are constantly events going on (fitness classes, art, self improvement… So many amenities I could rave about. This being my first apartment, I’ve reached out to the (friendly) staff several times now with questions and am always provided helpful information. The communication regarding updates is outstanding. In my experience, maintenance requests have been assessed within 24 hours.TLDR: if you can afford to do so, apply. You won’t regret it.

If you’re thinking of moving in, I would keep looking. This place nickel and dimes you for everything. I pay almost $200 in extra fees, on top of rent. Management does not work with you at all. They talk like they care, but do nothing to back it up. Late fees are well over $100. So double check the website doesn’t glitch when you make a payment to ensure it goes through. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the maintenance guys are really great and respond quickly. Other than that, I would definitely avoid here. There are so many other options around here. The trash behind the apartment, in the woods is awful. The valet service sometimes comes, sometimes doesn’t. I’ve had them not show up until midnight and by the the raccoons have already gotten to the trash so they just leave it. It’s truly not worth the $40. The breezeways are dirty. They power washed them once a year ago. The settling in the apartment is like nothing I’ve ever seen and I’ve lived in apartments my entire adult life. The cracks in the ceiling are large enough to slide two-three quarters in, stacked. I had to call and complain twice before they came to fix all of the doors in my unit so they will close properly again. These apartments have a such great potential and are in such a good area. It’s sad the way they are managed and the way tenants are treated. I’m happy to finally be moving out.

Hidden lake was not bad at all in the beginning with touring the apartment and moving in. Until living here for a couple of months and had all sorts of problems none stop. In the apartment the doors wouldnt shut, the cabinets would fall off, the counters were lose, and the windows were broken. When calling maintenance for any sort of problem they would take days to come and would take hours to fix one thing, at the end it wouldnt even be fixed. There was always new insects you could find and the environment of the apartment was terrible. Had so many issues with the people above due to their dog barking everyday for hours on end and took about two months to even get that situation figured out. The apartment was great for a first apartment in the beginning but ended up moving out in a couple months due to the multiple issues occurring in such a short time period.

Very safe, clean community. Good location in town. Staff is professional and friendly. When I moved here, I had looked around at many different apartment communities. After checking out at least a dozen other apartments, this one was the clear choice for my fiance and I. We feel safe and comfortable here, there is security that patrols at night and ADT systems in the apartments.Been here for about a year, and so far I really have nothing to complain about. The staff has always been helpful and understanding. Maintenance is quick to respond.During the day, parking is almost always close to where you want to park. Past 10pm, parking is still relatively close. During holidays, however, sometimes Ill have to park pretty far from my apartment. This is an issue with a lot of apartment communities, by the nature of it. Not really a fault of Hidden Lake. There is no reserved parking, but there are a limited number of garages.Overall, Im very pleased with my living experience at Hidden Lake, and it would be my first recommendation to anyone looking for an affordable apartment on the NW side.Dont be put off by the 1 star reviews. Theyre all completely unjustified and irrational.

Great gym and club house where I think you will find a friendly staff that truly wants you to feel good about living at Hidden Lake. The maintenance staff are great guys who make sure any problems that might arise are addressed in a timely manner. Everything is keep in very nice condition and the management is always making the property up to date and clean. Its a great place to live with children and we believe it is a wonderful place for older folks as well. As we all know that buying a home in these times is very costly and some of us are looking for a place like Hidden Lake to call home. Maintenance was always quick and responsive, fixing any issues that came up while living here which is great. Good location next to lots of shopping and close to UTSA if you’re in college. Pretty safe area of San Antonio so never felt uneasy or unsafe while living here. Relatively quiet neighbors overall which is rare but seems pretty quiet with the exception of the loud car here and there, but that happens anywhere you live these days. Office staff is always friendly and informative when I need any assistance. Nice pool in the summer and the private lake is a nice place to take a walk and relax. Only very minor complaint is parking can be a bit tough but it’s only if you park late after 11pm from my experience, but didn’t bother me much. I had an absolutely terrible experience leasing from this apartment complex. They engage in highly deceptive and unethical business practices that should not be tolerated. For starters, they charge deposit fees that are not actual deposits and do not go towards anything at the end of the lease. Even worse, when residents ask about these fees, the company denies ever using the word deposit and tries to gaslight them. This is a clear attempt to take advantage of unsuspecting tenants and is completely unacceptable.Additionally, when I had water damage in my apartment caused by heavy rain, they took forever to attend to it, and their response was both incorrect and unacceptable. Its clear that they do not prioritize the safety and well-being of their tenants.Furthermore, the companys unethical practices also extend to their treatment of residents carpets. Almost all past residents Ive talked to are charged for any type of carpet repair at the end of the lease, but they dont seem to actually replace the carpet as promised. Instead, they probably only deep clean it and have new residents move in almost immediately after previous ones move out. The reason why I say this is because a few weeks after I moved out, I asked about a package that accidentally got shipped there and they said that its up to the new resident to decide if I can get it or not. Its clear that they prioritize profit over resident satisfaction and safety, which is unacceptable. To make matters worse, I had a friend whose grandfather passed away while living in this apartment, and the company still wanted to charge rent to his family. This is an insensitive and inconsiderate practice that shows a complete lack of empathy and compassion.Lastly, the company did not even have the decency to call me when their in-house debt collection was going to send my account to an actual debt collection agency. This level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is simply unacceptable.Overall, I would strongly advise anyone against leasing from this company. They engage in unethical practices, disregard their residents safety and well-being, and have a complete lack of empathy and professionalism.

I literally have no idea where the people of the bad reviews were living but it certainly was not Hidden Lake @ 1604. None of those experiences sounded even close to anything here!As far as the management goes, those are some of the friendliest ladies Ive ever met in an apartment office. They always greeted me with a smile! We lived in a 1 bed/1 bath unit on the 3rd floor and never once had any issues!! Our neighbors were quiet (which can vary for everyone, but still.) The apartment was so clean when we moved in and we never saw any mold, dust, or bugs as others have claimed??I will say that parking was sometimes full depending on what time you got home. This isnt the offices fault. You just have to park in the next unit over? A 2 minute walk max which is not even bad.Oh and that pool was always clean!! I think the only time I saw mess in there was after the huge hail storm! Plus that pool is gorgeous, why would they let it get nasty??People, this is a good apartment to live in! If you can afford it and its in your area than you should rent here!

I work in real estate and happen to know the definition of a home that is made ready to move into- they were not going to get away with anything sub par. I was pleasantly surprised. All of our neighbors keep to themselves. In fact, the only reason I even know what my neighbors look like is if I see them walking their dogs (the apartment complex is very pet friendly). To address some of the previous comments, I need to say that I have never seen a towing truck in the complex after my 10 months of living here. Parking is a little hard after 10pm on a weekend because most people are already home and I get the last lonely spot one building over from mine. Getting packages can be difficult. I work the same hours that the office is open, and cant ever get in to pick up my packages (if they dont fit in the mailbox, they go to the office). However, this is true with ANY complex. I send my important packages to a friends house now, if I cant wait until a weekend to pick them up at the office. No big deal. Regarding location- it does take a while to get on 1604 from the complex. You go through 2 (not 3) lights before hitting an on-ramp. Welcome to the city, we have traffic here. In my opinion, the 2 lights on the frontage road are far better than the multiple lights you encounter when living down Bandera and fighting the funnel of traffic there every morning. I encourage you to check out the location before signing a contract, as I would with any real estate transaction.Parking, office hours and location are out of the control of the people who work at Hidden Lake, so I will get back to the things which are unique to this complex only. It is beautiful, quiet, safe, the community is friendly, and the office staff are super nice and do their best to answer all phone calls and emails right away (yes, they are very busy) to help you with any problems. Maintenance is handled promptly and correctly, which is hard to come by in apartments. I felt like I was living in a high class complex without breaking the bank. We will miss our first home when we leave, but are onward to bigger and better things (like buying a house)!PS: Carol, the reviewer below me, is awesome. If you move here, find her! Shes basically the complex mom and has the cutest pug ever.

Been living here for over a year and considered myself “lucky” after reading reviews with other tenants. Overall, if you’re placed in a decent unit there is little to complain about. I’ve had maintenance issues where maintenance responds quickly and I’m thankful. Recently, to my own fault, I had a package delivered and did not include my apartment number. There is always an issue delivering to this address regardless, so make sure to always include your apartment. Typically, if you don’t have a listed apt #, the delivery service will return to sender but for whatever reason the delivery service delivered the packages anyway to the front office. After going to the front office, I was told they did not receive anything. The young lady kept asking me my apt # even though I CLEARLY stated MULTIPLE times the package wouldn’t have an apt #, ONLY my name. Long story short, the package was delivered & confirmed by the driver, yet she was adamant they received nothing. If not for the company being able to resend the package, I would have filed a police report. The front office is now filled with young women with very questionable tendencies. This is saying a lot given that I am a woman MYSELF and usually root for young women kickstarting their career. Having integrity could take you far in life. Don’t even respond with some half-excuse as I’ve seen on other reviews. This review is to warn others, not for a weak apology. AS MENTIONED BEFORE, I take fault for not including my apt #, but the lack of integrity when confronted really has me counting down the days to when my lease is up.

Overall nice community, mostly quiet and clean. Leasing office personnel and service techs were good. I haven’t really had any major issues so far. Typical stuff with apartment living; if you have someone living above you they always sound like they’re herding cattle. My biggest complaint is the apartment I live in walls were thin, which can be annoying at times. Especially with the master bedroom that shared a wall with the neighboring apartments bedroom, in which conversation can be heard through the wall. At that point I became uncomfortable and was regretting my decision. It’s really unfortunate, because the amount of money you pay in rent, you want comfort in a place you call home.

Ive lived here for 3 months and Im still waiting for this place to feel like home. Management isnt anything special. They arent bad, but they definitely are not great. I feel like in my past apartment complexs management went above and beyond for the residences and I think this staff does the bare minimum. They are not very helpful.I will say the apartment itself isnt bad. I live in a one bedroom one bath and it is a perfect size for me. What they didnt mention was that there are no light fixtures in the living room or the bedroom. You can only use lamps. Which is annoying.I still have 8 more months on my lease. Overall the place isnt terrible, but I wish it felt more like home instead of somewhere Im just leasing.

I’ve lived here about two years and have no issues. I love that it’s an older community with lots of trees and the units are a great size for the price. I feel safe which is my biggest priority and with the new installation of alarms I feel even safer! Love it!

Wow!!! Not sure were these negative reviews are coming from. Must be the competition is jealous and trying to sabotage. I have made this my home for almost a year now. I have been an apartment dweller most of my life. This is an exceptional management team and nothing surpasses their maintenance. With speedy fixes and quick follow-up’s. The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful consistently. I walk my dog three times a day, I have never ran into hostile or scary people. Feels very secure and safe and a very friendly community. I have made more friends in this community than any other apartment community I have ever lived in. And the staff and maintenance always has a treat for my little furrbaby! So I seriously don’t understand the negative reviews other than people who are disgruntled or who should not be living here in the first place. Good riddance. I am a stay at home caregiver so I am here a lot. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and location is everything. You don’t have to drive far to get to almost anything you need. Swimming pool is crystal clear, the gym is great for all your workout needs. Very large spacious apartments. I rent a two bedroom two bath and it is perfect for our needs. Clean no bugs and we even elected to add a garage. Great place to live, if you don’t check it out based on bad reviews then you are being missed lead and will miss out on an opportunity to live in a great community. As a very happy resident I suggest you come and see for yourself. A++++

I lived here for 2 years and absolutely loved my place on the third (top) floor. It was very quiet and peaceful and secluded due to the forest around it, despite being near large shopping areas. I loved being able to just walk to HEB and the shops around there due to being so close. It was the best place I found in the area during my search for the price, so I was very happy to get in. They were always prompt with maintenance requests which were easy to submit online. I was sad to go, moved to another state for a job. Highly recommended, this place was great for me at least.

I have lived here for about 7 months, and it has been the best apartment experience I have ever had. I have never had any trouble with undue fees, missing packages, infestations, or noisy neighbors. The apartments are built well, no issues with plumbing or electricity so far. The dishwasher works great. The staff is friendly and so are most of the residents. The maintenance team responds in a timely fashion and are helpful. The only qualm I have is after I was in a car accident I was informed that they were going to tow my car because it was unsightly. Although I understand seeing a damaged car is not a very good image, it would have been nicer if they were more sympathetic to the situation. However, they were reasonable in that if I parked the damaged part not facing the street I would not be towed, so that was fine.

The apartments themselves are nice but when I lived there management was terrible. They were rude, would roll their eyes, and gave a lot of attitude. that was the manager herself so it’s no surprise the other employees were extremely rude and disrespectful also. They knew by my name and apartment number and when I locked myself out of my car (push to start and the keys were in my purse in the car) they wouldn’t let me into my apartment to get the spare key. I understand it’s a liability but my license was in my car with my stuff and since I didn’t have it I had to pay $300 to a locksmith. Again, they knew me by name and apartment number. Then when my roommate and I moved out and they did the inspection, maintenance literally just looked around and said “looks good” without really looking, however, he went straight to the corner of the carpet in the living room and said we spilled something and needed to replace the carpet. This would make sense if he did that to all the rooms, he didn’t. He went straight to that specific corner. The reason I say this is because my roommate and I stayed in our own rooms, we didn’t spend time in the living room or dining room. When they did the “pre move out inspection” I wasn’t notified and when I got home there was a note on the counter and so were my undergarments. Like I said, the complex itself was great, but management (when I lived there) was terrible and inconsiderate.

As much as I want to say I loved living here the last 10 months, it’s been less than satisfactory. I moved here because I thought it was incredibly pretty and quiet, but the apartment has had a few issues.- Upon moving in there was huge pile of dirt, rubbish, and leaves on the balcony and inside the outside closet that needed to be cleaned up. Like someone put it together and didn’t bother disposing of it.- The towel rack in the bathroom was not on the wall but instead sitting in the corner as though it had fallen off.- The key FOB to get into the apartment didn’t work for me to open the gate so I had to get a new one...which was seemingly impossible because of the office being closed for covid-19 and them never answering the phone. My only choice was to keep calling and waiting for a staff member to return my call to come outside and give me a new one so I could get inside the gate.- We had put in 2 work orders for our fridge to get fixed because water is somehow leaking inside over all of our food. At this point it’s easier to just put a bowl and dump the water leaking out ourselves. Only after the 3rd work order was it fixed.- One weekend it rained and the water leaked through to damage our living room ceiling line. While we have no issues with things beyond human control, the maintenance people took a whole week to fix the ceiling. Including 2 days where they said they’d come but never showed. However, a week later they fixed the foundation of our building and the ceiling line cracked again making all that work pointless. So...it’s back to being unsightly. I’d rather not wait a whole week of them coming in and out again to get that fixed. But they said there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t come out of our security deposit....like it was our fault it rained and leaked through and then they fixed the foundation and it cracked.- There’s trash all behind our apartment in the woods from random people walking to the lake which completely ruins the point of having a balcony facing the trees. In addition, there’s like a million raccoons that go into peoples trash and make a nightmare of having to put the trash in the valet trash container. We literally have to use rocks on top our trash to keep them out. It would be easier to not use the valet trash but it’s not really an “option”.- Parking at night is a nuisance because sometimes I have to park 2 buildings away due to all the random people coming into my neighbors apartments.- Upon moving out, the apartment complex was closed for Memorial Day. Thus, I wasn’t able to turn in my keys the weekend I left. No one called to instruct me on what to do for move out, so I called prior to moving to confirm I could just drop the keys off at any time the following day. I got a call the next morning that if I didn’t drop it off within the first hour of opening that I would be charged rent for the day. No one informed me of this until 9 minutes of when it was due. I would have turned them in earlier if they communicated correctly. I just didn’t want to be threatened to be charged when it was their fault for not informing me beforehand. When I tried to speak to them about how outrageous it was they interrupted me over the phone several times. Thankfully after much talk they opted not to charge me.As people who work full-time and go to school full-time, we wanted to live someplace that cared for it’s residents and I will say this place is generally peaceful. There are pros to living here. I’m just not sure if they outweigh the cons for the price we’re paying each month. I simply don’t have time to hound their office but it feels like that’s what it takes to get them to care for their residents.

I love living at this apartment. The staff is really nice and helpful. Maintenance always arrives quickly and does a good job fixing the problem the first time. The community is a little older and more family, which is nice because you wont be kept up too often from loud parties at night. There are plenty of bbq grills, and there is a small lake that you can fish if you are up for that. The pool is a nice place to relax on a hot day. The gym is nice because it has more than some apartments, but it still isnt a golds gym. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.

We moved in 2 weeks ago and it has been a complete nightmare ever since. When we first walked into the apartment, we noticed a horrible smell like dirty socks or wet dog. I vacuumed the carpet thinking it would go away. My canister filled up in every room with dirt, animal hair, and cat litter. We were told that the carpet had been shampooed but apparently it had not been vacuumed before they cleaned it and all of the dirt and hair had just been soaked and left to sit. On day 2, we noticed what we thought were gnats, but they turned out to be fleas. On day 3, we asked to be let out of the lease. The complex refused and now we are stuck in this nasty place. Not only that but the maintenance staff is lazy and only does what they absolutely have to. I took pictures of all the things that had not been cleaned or fixed before we moved into our apartment and we had to get them to come back multiple times. Finally, we just gave up and stopped fighting with the apartment manager and maintenance staff. Were still living with nasty baseboards and mold around the windows. Blinds and outlet covers that havent been cleaned in years. Not to mention rusted out fixtures, faucets and sinks. And to top it off, we noticed mold in almost every falling down ceiling breezeway when we walked outside of our apartment and walked through some of the other breezeways and noticed the same thing. We were told that this apartment complex is less than 10 years old but it looks twice as old and I have plenty of pictures to prove it.

We lived in the apartment over two years. They raised the rent by about $50 dollar each contract renewal, even charging us more had we chose a longer contract then previously. When we moved out, they claimed bogus charges for cleaning, pet fees, and disposal. When we left, we cleaned the apartment to the best of our Military non-professional cleaning ways, leaving nothing behind. Also, We initially paid a pet deposit and during our time there, it appeared they always cleaned the apartments after any tenant left, regardless of how it looked. We saw professional cleaning crews going in and out of apartments seemingly every week, as they became available. So, after we left, they called and stated we had to pay in excess of $600 in additional fees to cover all this cleaning and pet stained carpets. Our dog, never once defiled the carpets of that apartment, plus, we already paid a non-refundable pet deposit when we moved in?!Stay away from this apartment complex unless you have no kids, no pets, and extra money to pay for B.S. stuff when you move out. Unfortunately, I have refused to pay this and now have had a debt collector harassing for the last year.

It got to the point where she even called the police! People also dont always pick up after their dogs as well. I understand its apartment life and youre going to hear noises from neighbors but from what our bottom neighbor was hearing it was ridiculous. It was an OK experience.

We lived at Hidden Lake for about 3 years and moved out January 2017. I loved Amy and our overall experience living at Hidden Lake. The location right next to an HEB Plus and the shopping area was amazing. The only problems we had were with a bee infestation which was quickly fixed and not really something they could control and loud and aggressive neighbors which they did help us with. You get what you pay for, but the natural environment and walkway throughout the apartment was nice. My only gripe was that the back area floods when it rains a lot and the maintenence guys werent always the friendliest. One of them locked us out of the gate while it was raining and we were trying to salvage the other car that got stuck in the flood. The long way to turn around going south on 1604 is a bit annoying but makes up for it with the location. Just be aware that your going to have to put in your own lights in the living room and youre not paying for the most luxurious apartment. But it was nice for what we were paying which was around $750 when we first moved in.

Ive lived here for almost four years and have loved it. Community is nice and quiet, and maintenance requests are answered promptly by great staff. HOWEVER, the new property management company is a huge let down after the last company. They have decreased the hours and days they work during the week to the point that it is difficult to contact them or pick up packages. Their holiday work schedule was so restrictive that they accepted our Christmas packages on Dec. 22 and did not allow the employees on the property to give us our packages until after Christmas. Since it was Christmas it would have been nice had they notified us immediately to come get the packages, but alas, we went without until after the holiday. The work order request website still does not work after months.

My roommate and I lived there, rarely were we there due to always being at work/school or out of town. How is it that minor stains needed the carpet to be replaced in the whole apartment? After many calls to management they never returned our calls, they always had an excuse to not returning them. They finally bothered to answer our call only to find out that we either pay the $500+ or they would send us to collections that same day.Not sure what type of business they are but I will NEVER recommend them as a place to live. We have the rental agreement that shows we paid it. We have the charges on the card. They rebutted with the renewed lease showing no deposit (it was on the first lease). In middle of this dispute they sent the bill to IQ Data International, which was very rude with us and also dismissed our evidence. The whole thing ruined what was otherwise a decent situation.EDIT: typos

Management:Hours are kind of inconvenient. 8:30 AM-5:30 PM. If you work all day, you will not be able to get anything done during the week. Plus theyre closed on Sundays. So Saturday will be your only day to get stuff done with them if you need to. Guess what, so does everyone else, so most of the time youre there, youre waiting to be helped. There is not package retrieval areas. So if your delivery is sent to the office, youre SOL if you cant go during their hours. Theyll tell you, you have a package... at 5:28 PM.They always seem to be busy, all the time. The other day, it almost took 10 minutes just to get a delivery package from literally on the other side of a wall. They will close sometime for lunch for 2 hours with no warning. So if you go home for lunch to get something done, theyre just going to say sorry theyre not there.Maintenance:Hit or miss. Ive had a few maintenance items that get resolved quickly and correctly. But, more often than not, the maintenance request will be completed incompletely.I needed to get a new aerator for my kitchen sink. They marked the maintenance request complete in the late morning. When I got home, the aerator was still in the bag, OUTSIDE my front door. I proceeded to put it on myself and realized it was the wrong type and wrong size of aerator. I called and told them they didnt do anything and gave me the wrong piece. They didnt believe me and never came to actually complete the request for a whole month after. The chain on the flush lever snapped and my toilet couldnt flush. I found this out after I did my business. I call it in on a Sunday at 1:30 PM. I told them, my toilet wont flush that it currently has feces in it. They said theyll get to it in the morning.... they said to me at 1:45 PM, that they will get to it.... in the morning. I was going to have to have a toilet filled with human excrement for hours. One morning, it was about 30-35 degrees outside. I woke up with my heater not working. I called it in as an emergency since it qualified as an emergency at around 6:50 AM. it took them almost 2 hours to complete the task. 90 minutes of those 120 minutes was me waiting for them to show up.Amenities:Basic amenities, pool, 24 hour fitness, mail kiosk for mail only, not packages. The one thing that separates this apartment from others is the lake that is there. Its barely accessible though. There arent many paths to it that are free from branches and very high grass. If it doesnt rain every week, the lake will recede and the shores will just be a huge mud area. It makes it very hard to actually get to the water. But hey, its nice to look at though.Half of the landscaping is dirt. probably 20% of the grounds have grass, so if it rains, you will have to stay on the asphalt if youre walking your dog or walking to your vehicle. just dirt everywhere, no grassThere is a mini trail that cuts through the middle of the buildings which is heavily shaded with all the trees. Shade = no grass. The entire area in between buildings is either dirt or leaves that no one has or every will rake up. its clutch in the summer though.there is however no dog park or childrens playground. So the apartments doesnt really off basic amenities.Parking:Parking is okay, dont really have many problems.Hope you drive a truck because theres speed bumps, EVERYWHERE.There are two entry gates, the front, which is riddle with speed bumps, and the back, which is only open from 6 AM to 9 PM. so like the office, the hours suck.Actual living areas:Pretty fair for sizing and pricing.Kitchen is MINISCULE.Balconies are huge.Closets are small.Master bathtubs are very large, which is nice.you need your own washer/dryer.automated locks and thermostat you can schedule and control with an app on your phone which is nice. Conclusion:This apartment can be worse. for the price and what you get, its okay. Then again, this place can be A LOT better. There is so much more room for improvement in like almost any aspect. But instead, they add more speed bumps.

I lived on the third floor and there was a rodent problem in the air ducts; I called multiple time about it and nothing was ever done; something died in the walls of my coat closets and the smell was horrible. The prices continued to rise despite the lack of actual maintenance of the complex; I swear building 18 has some really structural damage; you can feel the building has a slope and there are cracks in the walls inside the apartments and outside of the building as well. I had a horrible experience with these apts and would not recommend this complex to anyone.

Ive lived here for a little over a year and let me give you the REAL review. Our first 6 months here our car was broken into, and come to find out there was no officer in the complex. Typically in a nice complex like this youd expect an onsite officer. Our complex is gated but strangers walk in and out of the woods from heb, Popeyes, etc. On move in day there were two cop SUVs outside, and as I walked out of the office a woman was giving a statement he just walked back into the woods with blood all over his hands. Yea, that was reassuring and we were stuck in contract by that point. Once that subsided, we moved into a first floor apt. Im reasonable on noise, but let me tell you what people they moved in above me since Ive lived here. 1.An abusive couple with TWO toddlers in a ONE bedroom apt 2. College kids that live above us throwing parties during the weekday. Ive called the office several times and I get the well talk to them answer, but it never ends. When the office is closed, they place a white sheet over their balcony so no one can see them doing drugs. Not very inconspicuous lol! Last night they threw a party until 2am and this morning I was awoken to a jackhammer outside of my window. I wish I could post a picture, this guy is literally 4 feet from my head on the other side of my window. Maitenance can be quick. We had a shortage in our electrical box and woke up a few nights hearing it sizzle. We freaked out and called maitenance, they came by and worked on it within a few hours, but we heard it again. We were terrified of an electrical fire starting in our bedroom for the longest time. Our first week moving in, we had two boxes we placed outside for a moment and BOOM next am we were slapped with $100 fine by the office. Shortly after that we were slapped with a notice that we arent allowed to have anything but patio furniture on our patio (we had a spare tire on the patio). I gotta say, it really felt like we were getting harassed by the complex our first month. When we were new they were not welcoming at all. Ive spoken with countless residence complaining about car break ins, and the poor attitude of the office manager. One guy came out to find his fancy SUV on ROCKS! no tires, no rims! Ive been afraid to post the truth on here, because I dont want to be bullied and harassed again by the office manager and maitenance. If your looking to move here, tread carefully. I can at the very least say, their gym and pool are always clean and very nice. 90% of people that live here are families with kids. That makes me think that safety isnt compromised. Inside kitchens are super small, and the interior is outdated. However, when we leased the price was fitting for it being a little outdated. By all means its not a terrible place to live, but like any complex. . . there are issues you come across living here.

The previous reviewer is completely right and my experience with hidden lake was even more horrifying. A strange smell started to come out of one of the bathrooms which soon escalated into the putrid stench of rotting flesh. Within a few days blowflies and maggots came out of the vent and into the bathroom, living room, and kitchen. It turnsout a racoon died in the air ducts because the apartment failed to smoke out the duct for vermin before closing up the outside vent. The smell was everywhere even after maintenance removed it so we needed to break our lease. However the apartments wouldnt waive the $800 fee to move out early despite this horrible experience that was their fault. In retrospect I wish I had brought this to the attention of San Antonio health and safety inspectors and just might look into it.

I make sure they knew and the response was they will come off with mr.clean eraser my thought was its suppose to b clean before move in.i tried to get the stains out but no luck My concern now is when i move out how they would treat me since Ive read the comments about tenants moving out. Having bad experiences Hopefully i have a good experience i will updated once my lease is up with pictures and video for future residents to decide for themselves.

I have lived here for 2 years with no issues and then when I asked for new remote batteries so I didnt have to keep getting locked out of the gate, the staff person was very rude to me. When I complained to the manager, I was threatened that my car would be towed even though I did nothing wrong. Now have to deal with lawyers since retaliation and harassment is illegal. Save yourself the time, money, and heartache and move somewhere that actually cares about you and cares about the property, not just the money theyll get out of you.

Bad Management. After moving out was charged $500 to replace carpeting after minor pet stains in a small area. During our six months there while building our new home management entered the apartment and left a dog biscuit for our puppy along with a notice they had entered for routine maintenance. The dog tried to bury the biscuit and tore-up the carpeting in several spots. I called the number as instructed on the notice and reported the carpet damage to Cody, and explained since we were there just a short time we would live with the damaged carpet. After move-out, I was told by Jennifer Villastrigo, the manager, that Cody had not reported the damage and that he did not remember the conversation and therefore, we were required to pay for ALL of the carpet to be replaced in the apartment. If you live here already, be sure to have management come and inspect before turning-in your keys. If you dont live here already, go somewhere else.

Lived here for 10 months and planned to stay here for a while when I first moved in. This place was a 3-4 star property when I moved in, but as you can see its declining. At first I really enjoyed the place, but it all started when the hail occurred. Apparently something happened to the foundation so they decided to repair it, they even left a note on my door stating they would do so. I work in the medical field so my work schedule is a few hours of from everyone else. I called the office because there was someone using a jack hammer, inches from my window. This happened for a week straight and I lost 6 hours of sleep each day because my walls/ bed were rumbling every morning. When I called the office to let them know, I was unfortunately was given the cold shoulder and a generic sorry. Also, my rent was raised a little over 50 bucks and that was the cheapest option they had to renew and it was with a 13 month lease! Completely over priced. My last two months there I started to get a ant problem. Several times I would come home and find lots of ants in my bathroom, sink, and kitchen. Its so bad that I bought raid, I used it often. I am a very clean guy and always pickup after myself, so Im a little confused. For the first few months, my neighbors were pretty much nonexistent. One day someone moved in up stairs and since then it sounds like baby elephants dancing above me. During a separate occasion, my neighbor next to me would argue and scream a lot, especially on weekends. Even with everything Ive mentioned so far, I could have still lived with it. Im a forgiving guy and understand, life happens. What drew the line though was on New Years him and some female were screaming and throwing stuff. Again. Walls RUMBLING. After several hours I started to hear more slamming but the talking stopped. Later I realized that I was listening to them have extremely loud sex. After living here for about 5 months I started to notice several cop cars in the complex and again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The next day I received a notice on my door stating there was a robbery, lock your belongings, etc and I ended receiving 3 different letters for 3 different incidents. I dont know the details but seeing six k-9 cop units fly through the complex in one night is a little scary. This is a little surprising given the area. One night I was watching TV and noticed a water leak from the apartment above. I immediately called the 24 maintenance line and he was here in 20 mins. He fixed the leak upstairs and came back to clean all the water from my apartment and this all occurred at 3a. The maintenance staff here is AMAZING. Theyre friendly and very professional.Overall this place isnt horrible but for the price you pay for rent, trust me, your better off spending your money else where.

Have lived here for 2 yrs bc of closeness to schools and they appeared nice from outside. Staff seems friendly until you have a problem or concern. Last summer we went without AC for over a week as their maint guy kept trying to fix it. Last fall apt upstairs flooded and the carpet in half of our apt was rolled up for 2 weeks and our furniture was piled up in the area that wasnt wet (our insurance took care of our damaged furniture) but apt refused to compensate us in any way despite the inconvenience. Some of the gym equipment was broke for several months until they finally repaired it. Final straw was when my teenage daughter that was visiting was intimidated and publicly humiliated by rude maint staff while she was at the pool and I was using the gym. Complained to mgt but got same response as with my other issues...always my fault and never an appology. Now my daughter is to scared to visit...who would treat someones daughter like that??

Don’t waste your time applying unless you have perfect credit. They have the worst application set up. They base their approval solely on credit not income and will only allow a co-signer if you were denied for income which makes no sense. No other properties do this. $100 we won’t get back. It felt like a scam honestly. I wish I could give them a zero. Like other reviewers I agree they are just money hungry not worth your time.

Do not live here unless you want to get charged fees UP THE ASS. My original lease was $830, plus $12.50 that I pay for insurance and $26.00 valet trash fee. Thats an extra $40 which is whatever, but EACH of my monthly payments come out to around $915 due to various fees like bill processing fee, TRASH (another trash?), Water base fee, sewer, pest control fee, drainage, sewer base fee, etc. I should not be paying an extra $90 every bill for stuff that the apartment complex should take care of, and if I am going to be charged for that stuff then they shouldve told me before my lease was signed. Again, not fair and Ive tried to talk to management about it but have just been brushed aside.
