This is my first ever apartment and I have had a 10/10 experience ever since I moved in! I come from a small town so moving to SA was kinda scary and this community has made me feel at home and welcome. They did an amazing job at matching me with my current roommates and I couldn’t ask for anyone better to live with. They are super pet friendly and have pet events as well as resident events all the time! They make delicious homemade food at these events and it makes me feel like I’m back at home.
I have lived at Hill Country Place for a year now. Ill say this: it’s a beautiful place, and it’s near the park, UTSA, and there’s a shuttle bus. However, there are three major cons:1. The roommate matching is terrible. You will not feel comfortable because of the drama and conflict that the office does nothing to resolve. I wouldn’t deal with that much conflict paying almost $800 a month.2. This is a social environment with frequent events and parties, so if you like to keep to yourself and enjoy some peace, it might not be the best fit.3. This apartment is perfect for someone young, but if you are 24 and above, the drama, parties, and overall atmosphere can be overwhelming. It’s such a beautiful place, and I would recommend moving in only if you know how to deal with conflict and drama.
I’ve had a great experience living at Hill Country Place. The property is beautifully maintained with excellent amenities like a well-equipped fitness center and a relaxing pool area. What truly stands out, however, is the management team. Mickey, the General Manager, is incredibly responsive and dedicated, always ensuring everything runs smoothly. Gaston, the Assistant Manager, is equally outstanding—friendly, helpful, and quick to resolve any issues. Their professionalism and care make Hill Country Place a fantastic place to call home. Highly recommended.
Hopefully this review isnt deletedI lived at Hill Country during the 2023-2024 school year, and for the most part, it was a good experience. The place is clean, and maintenance is quick to respond. The security officer, Gladdis, is one of the nicest people Ive met. That said, the rooms are pretty small, and if youre in buildings 10-12, visitor parking is a pain. The closest spots are in front of the leasing office, which fill up fast, so your guests will have to walk a bitThe real issue came when I moved out. I was hit with over $900 in charges, with $600 of that for a Carpet Replacement. I own up to most of the other damages, but the carpet definitely didn’t need replacing. I even have video proof of how I left it.I’ve tried reaching out to management so many times—calls, texts, emails—but no one has gotten back to me. I even have proof of my attempts. Yesterday, I finally got a call from them asking when I plan to pay the bill, and they mentioned it would go to collections if I don’t pay within 30 days. When I explained I’d been trying to discuss the charges and send over the videos, I was told to email someone named Guerra, as the rep couldnt help me dispute charged. I emailed Guerra, still no response. It’s frustrating that they’d threaten collections after 30 days without even responding to my concerns especially after I have made MANY attempts to get in touch with them. That 30 day mark is approaching and Im still yet to here from them.Honestly, I’d think twice before staying here—there are better options out there, such as Avalon and Sterling.
Leaving 2 stars because the maintenance was great, the guys are super polite and always super quick to help out. The gym is also well stocked with a variety of dumbbells, machines, cardio equipment, and space. Otherwise, I couldnt wait to move out. I was extremely excited to move here, but that changed quickly after moving in. The property manager is an extremely aggressive lady and made me feel uncomfortable living here. On multiple occasions, she screamed at me and I felt uncomfortable whenever I had to go to the front office, pool area, or gym. When they made renovations while I lived here, they were cheaply done and forgot to finish them, which are what the pictures I included show. After a couple of days, I went to the front office and asked one of the receptionists if they were coming back to finish, and the manager interrupted our conversation and said they were already done with my building. I then took the pictures I included and they realized they were wrong, and had to send the vendors to our unit again to finish renovating. They are extremely aggressive about towing, and I had my car towed multiple times. They will likely respond to this review like other reviews that have mentioned the towing situation, however people should not be getting towed when theyve been here for less than 30 minutes, and both visitor and resident open parking spaces are regularly hard to find. The first time it happened, it was the night before a test and they do not give you a notice that they are going to tow. I had to take an Uber to get to my university. I left a 1-star review while living here because of my awful experiences with the manager, and they asked me to take it down in exchange for waiving the towing fee the first time. For this reason, I dont think their reviews are trustworthy. I had an item stolen from my car that I left there for less than five minutes before I returned to get it, so the quality of residents or area isnt the best. They also take advantage of move-out fees and will try to charge you an exorbitant amount. All my roommates were charged hundreds of dollars for normal wear and tear, which is something that falls on the apartment to pay for, not the renter. I was personally charged $758, and when I tried to dispute what I was willing to pay and what they were legally required to, they sent the fee to collections and credit agencies to damage my credit score. This apartment complex left a nasty taste in my mouth and while Im glad some of the people in these reviews seem to have had a good experience, although like Ive said, I wouldnt be surprised if bad reviews are removed, I personally cant recommend you live here if your experience is going to be anything like mine was.
Honestly such a great place to stay while going to college. The convenience of having a shuttle to school is amazing and there is no required purchase of a parking pass and option for covered parking, the people here including the office workers are so so friendly. I’m terrified of spiders and they actually sent maintenance to come take care of a giant one that was outside my covered parking space and they did it the same night I messaged them about it . And if you don’t like cooking much don’t worry, the office is always holding lil cooking events, painting pumpkins, puppy meet ups, you name it they have an event for it. Overall just an amazing experience .
Love our new apartment. Great place to host a ton of people! The apartment complex is spacious and natural light gets in perfectly. The mattress in the room is extremely comfortable and the closet is big and spacious. The staff is super friendly and is always ready to help out :)
I am going on my third year living at Hill Country Place and can safely say I made the right decision. From the fast and effective maintenance, friendly office staff, and welcoming community, whats not to love about this place? Seriously, two years in and Im still waiting without a single negative thing to say about HCP! My favorite thing about living here by far has been the friends that I have made along the way, whether it was at the dog park with other dog parents, resident events, my roommate, or through neighbors, I am grateful to have made lifelong connections in my time here. If you needed a sign to make your decision to live here at Hill Country Place Apartments, this. is. your. sign!!!✨🌸💕
I’ve lived at Hill Country Place for the better part of two schools years, and the memories I made here were some of the best I’ve had in my life thus far. The roommate matching was immaculate, I never had any issues with any of my roommates and we became friends very quickly. Additionally, maintenance is extremely responsive, coming within the hour of posting a request. The front office is overwhelmingly helpful and understanding. Their staff up there helped me with many issues throughout the two years of me living there, and we’re very friendly the entire time. They kept up with the apartment so we didn’t have to, upgraded our flooring as well as our lounging experience with new couches and tables. They made the counters in the kitchen look more modern as well as the bathrooms. For a first apartment, Hill Country Place set the bar high. And it was a joy to rent here for the past two years.
This is by far the best apartment complex I’ve lived at since moving to San Antonio! The staff is so great and attentive and the property is so clean and taken care of. Mickey and Gaston at the front office are so nice and helpful! 10/10 recommend!
This is my first semester here in San Antonio at Hill Country and I love it! The community here is amazing and I have grown to meet many new people through various events and activities that management puts on for us. I look forward to my next semester here at Hill Country.
I have multiple friends that live at Hill Country Place and I will say that it’s very well kept up, and the people at the front office are very welcoming and accommodating. When a work order is placed it’s fixed within a week which is nice considering most student living doesn’t prioritize things like that.
Absolutely the best student housing attending UTSA. Outstanding staff, the manager alone deserve 10 stars, super fast responses, safe, clean and very nice community.
Overall not bad. There needs to be better communication and scheduling for when inspectors will be entering your unit for inspections. A ~two week window from open to closing is given for possible times when inspectors may enter your unit, and that’s far too vague to plan around. Apart from being an inconvenience, it could just be plain embarrassing if the resident is taking a shower etc and inspectors knock and enter their room. You also have to consider the fact that this is college student housing, meaning students may fail their proctored exams if an unexpected visitor comes into the room. Most other complexes seem to have schedules sent out at least a couple weeks in advance with specific dates and times for your building to be inspected. I think it’d be beneficial for HCP to create a similar system so residents aren’t so blindsided and so they have time to request a different date in case of proctored exams etc.
My son lives at Hill Country Place, and it has been a great experience so far they have taken care of everything and have been on top of the maintenance as well as getting anything we need and are very helpful with any questions or concerns.
Omg this property is really nice my son recently looked around for a place nearby. This place is perfect for him to start his new chapter on life, the staff was so welcoming and sweet. The property was very clean. We were even greeted by a gentleman from maintenance, so respectful!
A Perfect Home Away from Home for College Students. I recently had the pleasure of residing in this amazing apartment complex. As a college student seeking an environment that combined natural beauty with a welcoming community, I found this place to be an absolute gem. Can’t beat it.One of the standout features of this apartment complex is the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it. Nestled amidst amazing greenery and beautiful landscapes, the complex offers a serene ambiance that is truly refreshing. Waking up to the sight of vibrant flowers and towering trees was a daily reminder of the beauty of nature. Beyond the scenic views, the community is exceptional. It has a friendly and inclusive environment, perfect for college students looking to build new friendships. From day one, I felt welcomed by my neighbors and the staff, who were always ready to lend a helping hand or engage in a friendly chat. The sense of friendship and support among residents truly made it feel like a second family. The amenities provided by the apartment complex were equally impressive. The common areas were thoughtfully designed, providing ideal spaces for socializing and studying. Whether it was the cozy lounge area, the well-equipped fitness center, or the inviting outdoor gathering pool spot, there was always a place to unwind or connect with fellow residents. The management also organized regular community events and activities, making it easy to meet new people and form lasting friendships. In terms of practicality, HCP excelled over many other apartment complexes nearby the UTSA area that I’ve toured and been to. The units were well-maintained and equipped with modern conveniences, ensuring a comfortable living experience. The management was prompt in addressing any maintenance requests or concerns, which further contributed to a stress-free lifestyle.Lastly, HCP is the ideal place for college students. Its proximity to UTSA made it incredibly convenient to navigate student life. Additionally, the complexs transportation options, such as the bus stop right in front of the office (which is just a short walk from you’re unit), and being able to rent a bike free from the staff whenever you wanted made commuting a breeze.Overall, I cannot recommend HCP enough for college students seeking a home away from home. Its stunning scenery, vibrant community, and well-designed amenities create an unparalleled living experience. My time spent here was unforgettable, and I am grateful for the friends and memories I made. Going to miss this place.- Christian Tyler Lafoe
Overall the place is nice. However the gym equipment is outdated, has missing pieces, and has a low variety. All of which are important to me and anyone who values a gym as an amenity.
This place has been nothing but amazing! The office staff is always so understanding and helpful. The amenities are always well taken care of and they are always on top of everything. Maintenance is amazing about working orders and getting it done in a timely matter. Would 100% recommend living here!
10/10 apartment complex, perfect for any student looking to attend UTSA as it is right next to campus. Management genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to resolve any complaints.
This apartment complex is great! It’s so close to UTSA, which is convenient for students, and so close to shopping centers as well as grocery stores. There’s really no better location than this one!
‼️DO NOT LIVE HERE‼️ If I could give 0 zero stars I would!! First off, I had previously written a review stating how terrible this place was, and they called one roommate demanding I take down the review. They will enter your apartment and if it’s not clean, they will charge you a fee. Half of these good reviews are their own workers. There are way better apartments on UTSA Blvd. Save yourself the problems!
The location is convenient, with easy access to shopping centers and major highways. The apartment complex is well-maintained, and the amenities like the pool and fitness center are a nice bonus. The staff is friendly and responsive to maintenance requests. Overall, I would recommend Hill Country Place to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to live in the area.
I would recommend this student housing to someone that is looking for a place near UTSA. The location is convenient, I enjoyed all the amenities it had to offer, and the staff is super friendly.
My car was towed from this location without any prior notification, warning, or even a ticketing. This happened on a Sunday night prior to the week starting, so I missed my classes for that day. I will admit it’s fairly simple to see where visitors are allowed to park. That being said, the towing is definitely my fault, but the towing company they utilize is money hungry and will attain every penny from your pocket, college student’s money at that. Besides this, the apartment is fairly pleasant to live in with very kind staff
My experience living in this apartment complex was excellent! The staff was always nice, and the place was great. I would recommend it!
I love it here so much!! The staff are all so nice, they paired me with good roomates, and the few issues I had here were resolved quickly. The area is also super beautiful and both people and staff here hold tons of events so if you’re social, this is the place to be! Go HCP!!
Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Maintenance is always making sure things get done asap. I love the effort put in for the residents!
I’ve had nothing but a positive experience here. The community atmosphere is fantastic. They are always hosting events to get everyone together, making it easy to make new friends. The maintenance and management team are also incredibly helpful and respond quickly to any issues that arise.
I have lived at Hill Country Place for 4 years now and it has been one of the best housing experiences Ive had! The staff is so helpful and approachable and are always caring about the residents. The community events make me feel so welcomed and I feel like its such a unique thing that only they do. The managers are always very understanding and very easy to contact, the maintenance workers are so amazing and such good people, and the security guards at night make you feel safe and are always willing to help you out. Ive had a couple of friends who lived at other complexes be jealous because of how wonderful the staff at Hill Country Place is!
I was recently visiting this property, with my niece, the staff was amazing welcomed us and greeted us very respectfully. I would recommend all family and friends to this property, No question went unanswered for us. Property is well maintained very impressed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Hill Country!! The staff is really helpful and maintenance is always ready to come and help when needed. I also feel really safe since we have on sight security all night. 10/10 recommend staying at Hill Country!
Lived here my freshman year of college! Beautiful complex, staff and maintenance are awesome, and pool is always clean :)
Exceptional Management and incredible stay!!! Our daughters daughters previous housing was a nightmare. After suggestions and many read reviews we decided to give HCP a try. It has been the best long term decision we have made. This student housing complex has exceeded our expectations! To begin with, management took the time to match my daughter with individuals accordingly. They are also very attentive to work orders regarding maintenance. Not to mention the friendly and polite staff(very helpful). The apartment itself has been clean since day 1 of moving in. It has made my daughter stay like, home away from home. She is delighted because her dog has a clean private area to socialize and be active. She also has a breath taking view that makes you feel like youre away from the city. The furnishings in the apartment are stylish, fresh, clean, and convenient as well. Since she attends UTSA, the location could not be better. The shuttle is extremely convenient. I could go on and on about how amazing this place is. I recommend this apartment complex to my relatives, friends and anyone who asks. We are at peace with no stress about the living conditions and this is priceless when you live hours away from your child.
I wholeheartedly recommend Hill Country Place for those seeking an exceptional college-focused student living apartment. The quality of the furniture is outstanding, creating a comfortable and stylish living space. What truly impressed me was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that permeates the community. From the annual BBQ event, which was fun, to the interactions with fellow residents, Hill country Place fosters a vibrant and friendly community. The attentive staff and outstanding amenities9Borrowing a bike for the trails) further contribute an unforgettable experience. Thank you Hill Country Place, for providing such a fantastic place to call home!
I’ve lived at hill country place for two years now and I can say whole heartedly that it is one of the better and welcoming student housing options! The staff is extremely helpful and nice! There is always security roaming around at night so I always feel safe. The office staff is usually have some celebration or festivities going on which makes this complex feel more homey!
Living at hill country place has been such an experience along with studying here. One of the most safest apartments I’ve lived in and have never had a problem. There is always security on watch and never a moment where I’ve felt unsafe walking within the complex. Amazing services and maintenance is always up to date with everything.
Hill Country Place apartments is somewhere I am beyond grateful to call home. I have lived in this apartment complex for 4 whole years. The amenities, staff, views, location, privacy, luxury, and community are all completely top notch. There is nothing more than anyone could ask for in an apartment complex. Something that stands out for hill country is the immediate and reliable resident support. If you call the office you are connected with a real person and not a robot. This is the perfect place for a student attending UTSA to live. I have lived through all of my best moments in college while being a resident here. Dollar for Dollar this is the most valuable apartment complex in San Antonio.
I had come here recently to visit a friend and drop off some food. I knew to park in visitor parking but the ones with signs were full. I thought to myself how can a place with hundreds if not thousands of people have only 8-10 parking spots (and that includes the reserved ones) so I went to look for more. Across from the office there were some painted spots and at most apartments I’ve visited those signify visitor parking. I had only been at my friend’s place for maybe 30 minutes considering I had to walk almost 10 minutes to get there (for the sake of not being towed). However to my surprise when I came out my car was gone. When I called the towing company they told me my car was on the way. At that point I would’ve parked right in front of my friend’s apartment and maybe then I would have made it out to my car and avoided this entire situation. I was really considering moving here but knowing what I know now I don’t think I could. I would never want to make anyone pay almost 250 dollars for a simple confusion like mine.
After living here for 3.5 years, here’s my honest review. I’ve enjoyed living here Hope this review helps!Pros: -The staff is friendly and if they don’t know the answer to your question, they’ll go and find someone who knows, or send an email.-Maintenance is quick to get things done. I’ve never waited more than 2-3 days for maintenance to fix a minor work order.-After they changed management, they’ve upgraded security with a closed gate at an extra entrance. They’ve added steps to the back of my building where there was a steep drop into grass before.-There have been a couple times where I was struggling financially and I came to the staff with my issues and they extended my deadline (still with late fees) for rent. There is a usual grace period to pay rent by the third instead of the first as well and this is nice if you forget easily.-They send reminders about picking up after dogs and safety of going the correct way at the roundabout (not everyone listens but I appreciate that the reminders).-The resident portal is easy to use and easy to pay rent on.-They throw a lot of community activities; for holidays, for pets, for exam weeks etc.-They’re in the process of making improvements and upgrading a lot of the units. This does increase the price, but for the things they’ve upgraded (counters and cabinets, flooring, furniture, washer/dryer units) it’s worth it.-They used to go through CPS where every unit pays electricity individually through one roommate. It was such a pain for electricity every month, but recently HCP changed providers and now everyone pays electricity included with rent.-Their pet fee and pet rent is affordable.-The UTSA shuttle come by frequently, it saves gas money. UTSA is also within walking distance.-Security is here 24/7 and is quick to respond.-Very close to fun locations like La Cantera and The Rim, Fiesta Texas, Chicken and Pickle, Food truck parks, hiking trail, and a new strip center that’s being built down the road, so it’s in a great location for things to do and places to eat.-They are very good at roommates matching.Cons:-There have been scorpions and roaches despite pest control spraying frequently and having a clean space.-The screens on the windows are not very strong. Mine have fallen off a couple times.-Renewal periods are a bit inconsistent and get confusing. I have emails about renewal offers from January, December, October, September and February over the past three years.-Rent continues to go up which isn’t necessarily the property’s fault as I understand the market changes. I signed on originally for I believe $625 for a 4x4 unit And 3.5 years later they’ve bumped it to $725-750 with electric included. Again, there have been improvements to the unit as well, and it’s also cheaper than a lot of other places in the area, but just be aware that rent goes up frequently.-Lots of people go the wrong way at the roundabout so just be aware when entering.-I personally do not have a dog, but I have seen the dog park and it does seem small compared to other complexes in the area, so if that’s something you care about as a dog owner then it may be a con for you-Parking is pretty limited, on multiple occasions I’ve had to park across the complex near guest parking because there were no open spots near my unit.-The mailroom they have could be useful, but most of the time the packages haven’t gotten sent through their text message system like they’re supposed to, and I have to wait for the office business hours so that someone can let me in the package room.-The office hours are limited. As of this review, they’re open from 10:00-6:00 and not open on the weekends. So if you need to go to the office or have the same package room problems that I’ve had and you work full time or have classes, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll have to use your lunch hour to go in. When I first moved here they were open earlier in the morning and also on Saturdays so the change is an inconvenient.
After almost 4 years I am moving out of Hill Country and it is bittersweet. I HIGHLY reccomend this apartment for first time college students who are moving for school or just needing a new place to live. I have had no problems and if there was any minor issues within the apartment, the maintenance would have it fixed before I even noticed. The apartment managers are on a friend basis with you rather than a business exchange. I have great memories with this complex and I will always appreciate the effort put into the events, raffles and overall quality of the place. THANK YOU MICKEY AND GASTON!
Not a resident, but our granddaughter moved in for the fall semester. She has been completely satisfied with all aspects of the complex. The amenities and staff planned activities for all the residents give her a feeling of family and home. Proximity to the university and of course, la Cantera and the Rim, are major plusses for her. When we moved her in, we were impressed with the apartment layout, condition , and quality of appliances. The staff has responded to all questions or concerns we have had as our granddaughter moves forward in life.
I dont live there but my daughter does and so far from what Ive seen and what she has experienced, this is a great place to live. So many amenities with resident events is very comforting to all who live there.
Very nice place, I totally recommend you to stay here, the staff are super nice, community is very relaxed! If your going to school at UTSA stay here!
After living here for 2 years. I enjoyed my time but its time for me to go. The rooms are a bit small but the bed is a full sized bed. And you have a pretty big closet. So you sacrifice floor space for bed and closet space. The staff is great and they all do their jobs well and there is always events happening and free food on the regular. Maintenance is quick and good at fixing the issues. If my only gripe is just the size of the rooms, then Id say I have no real complaints. I would recommend this to any college student over living in the dorms.
I recommend hill country to anyone trying to find a nice student apartment to live in. Two people that have made it very welcoming this year was Alexis and Brooke. Anytime I had questions or problems with anything they were able to help resolve it quickly. Maintenance staff here are very reliable , once a work order is placed they always fix it either the same day or the next. Overall a great place to stay if anyone is looking.
My move to San Antonio was a bit scary but Hill Country Apartments made the transition smooth. Management is very friendly and are always ensuring it’s tenants are satisfied. The maintenance people are so quick and I have never ever had a problem with them. The apartment itself is so nice and seems updated at a very reasonable price. The location is perfect as well. It is safe and my neighbors or I have not had issues. Overall I would totally recommend this place to anyone.
Apartments themselves are nothing to complain about except the bathrooms need more storage. The complex is nice with direct access to an awesome trail behind the complex and other really great amenities. Mainly my complain is with the office people being two faced and talking about me to my roommate, it’s seems like they need better confidentiality training. Also the maintenance are invasive. Besides that I did really enjoy the events they offered and my time there.
Lived here for 5 years and had the best experience! Location is nice, right next to UTSA, La Cantera/Six Flags, & easy access to I-10. Staff is always very kind, helpful, and responsive. The managers Mickey & Gaston are the absolute best!!! Their excellent leadership always has the property clean, residents aware with everything going on, and good vibes with all the community activities! Would highly recommend this community to anyone looking to live near UTSA. Feels like home.
I’ve lived here for a year, and I renewed my lease for the new school year as well. I love hill country place! They’re always updating the amenities, they’ve repainted the buildings, and they’re really keeping everything up to date. It’s great to see that your money is going to good use. Another thing I love about these apartments are the staff members! They’re so friendly, helpful, and courteous. It feels like one big community, I love how the staff members take time to get to know you and everyone else. You don’t find that at any other apartment around UTSA campus. The apartments are conveniently located 4 minutes from UTSA campus, and a shuttle transportation is offered as well. My only complaint is that parking can be difficult to find late at night if you don’t pay for covered parking, then again, that’ll be a problem at any apartment around the area.Overall I think hill country is 5/5! I definitely recommend living here for 1st year students, I enjoyed my experience here :)
One of the best apartment complexes here in San Antonio. The staff is always friendly and helpful in any situation. The security team that patrols the area allows for a safe environment. The maintenance team is fast and efficient when it comes to any problems within the apartment. Would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about moving here, especially students or people new to the area. 10/10
My move in experience was great. Staff members Jordan and Kayla were attentive and ensured I had all the documents in order before moving into my apartment. They made sure I was satisfied with my living situation and it is appreciated. Hill country place has a lot of great on-site amenities such as a dog park, hiking/biking trail that connects to a larger park called Leon creek/fox trail, a pool, 24 hour gym, and game room with pool tables, fooseball, and a coffee maker in the front office. All rooms come with a large living room TV and a decent size balcony for relaxing. The rooms include a washer, dryer, and dishwasher and a full kitchen. Each resident gets their own bathroom in their room. My only complaint is that I wish the bedrooms were bigger. Other than that I enjoy this apartment complex and I think for the price I’m satisfied with what I’ve been given.
Great apartments! The staff was very friendly and welcoming!
I lived here for a year and it was awesome and amazing 10/10 would definitely recommend 👍🏽
Hill Country is amazing! The staff is super sweet. Roby is very energetic and super helpful. I also love the pool!
Loved this place--I lived here for 4 years. It was the first and only apartment I toured right before I started school so I think I got really lucky. Price was great, it felt very safe, apartment was spacious and the apartment manager Mickey and everyone in the office are very kind and helpful. Maintenance always took care of issues quickly as well. They have (or had, before COVID) lots of events for students. I really have no complaints, renting here was a great decision.
I have lived here for almost 2 years and only have good things to say about it. The staff is super friendly and the complex is always in peak condition. I feel safe knowing that the overnight security is attentive and cares about us residents. Mickey and the staff hold events for us that I greatly appreciate and go out of their way to make sure that we have fun :)
I have only lived here for a few months but I can honestly tell you that I love Hill Country Place! For starters it is super close to campus, and the shuttle is there every 10-15 minutes and the Bus Drivers are always super friendly. The amenities are awesome, and they have events there all the time for you to socialize with other people. The office staff is phenomenal and a joy to be around. I sent in a complaint on Saturday and they still managed to get someone to help me. The housing itself is awesome, and compared to my previous housing (on Campus), Hill Country is a Luxury Hotel! You get your own bathroom, walk-in closet, and a very large living room that even if you were to share with three others, it is still very large. And I forgot to mention how the apartments come with a 50-inch TV and Apple TV at no extra cost! The kitchen is superb, and the fact that you get your own washer and dryer is just adding to the great things about this place. If there was a few things I had to complain about, is that the outside(sidewalks, staircase etc) are dirty and could use a good washing and the security is just one guy on a bike at night that takes a few rounds around the property (at least from what I have seen so far, but I have seen cars get towed if they dont have the Hill Country sticker). All in all, this is an amazing place to live at and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in looking for a new place
In the few weeks I stayed with my sister I was thoroughly impressed by how clean and modern the apartments were. The property manager and staff went above and beyond and treated me as a resident although I was not. I felt very safe and comfortable while staying there. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable, conveniently close, modern apartment while attending UTSA.
I moved here in August, and my experience living here has been great! The people are all so welcoming, and I love the events that the office hosts. The office staff is so friendly and have always been so helpful. Love the property manager Mickey, she always goes above and beyond for us :). Overall, moving here was a great choice and the property has a lot to offer!
The experience from day one that my daughter has lived at Hill Country Place has been great. The maintenance is quick to take care of any issues or concerns. The office staff is over the top, very attentive, and the landscaping is immaculate. Easy 5 star review.
Really enjoy living here, the room mate matching is phenomenal. My roommates are now my closest friends. The vibe at hill country is really relaxing and you get to meet cool people all the time. Any issues you have they take care of quickly. The people who help run this place on a day to day basis are truly amazing. Highly recommend living here throughout your college journey👌🏽
Currently a two-year resident at Hill Country Place. Has great amenities and variety of events throughout the school year. Management and staff has always put customers first in regards to any problems with the unit. Apartments are secluded from the busy UTSA Blvd road which is amazing. The private runner is always a great tool to get from and to campus. I can recognize staff member, Kayla, for her great contribution she’s continued with me along this journey. She’s very well knowledgeable about any questions I have concerning rent, outages, events, and etc. I would recommend anyone to live at HCP.
Hill Country Place is amazing! The staff that run this apartment complex are some of the genuinely friendliest and fun people I have met. They don’t put on a fake face and make you feel welcome because its there job, instead they actually want to be your friend and help you out with anything you need help with because they are honestly nice folks. Apartment wise, they are very spacious and have all the necessities a person needs to make the most of their time here. I live in a four bed room apartment and can’t say anything bad about it. Just enough space to where it seems cozy and yet enough space to make it your own. Also the employees of Hill Country Place quite often have different social events such as barbecues and get togethers that make you feel apart of the community. Great place to live, highly recommended.
I spent most of my time in SA living at Hill Country and I enjoyed every minute. Above all the staff is INCREDIBLE, the maintenance staff is grade A. The apartments are nice, super comfortable. They have monthly events which are amazing, FREE FOOD. Probably the best apartment complex on UTSA Blvd. I recommend any underclassmen looking for an apartment to highly consider living here, you wont regret it. I never had one problem with any of the staff, this place became my home away from home. 6-Star for sure.
I have been living here for about a year and I absolutely love this place! The management is wonderful, the staff is also so welcoming and nice, and it feels like a big family. I would totally recommend Hill Country as a place to live.
I am currently a resident at Hill Country place and I am extremely satisfied with not just the complex itself, but the staff, management, and maintenance.I had an issue that required maintenance and Jordan was very sweet and willing to help in making sure maintenance got to my apartment as quickly as possible. Mickey, the manager, has handled every issue, question, or suggestion I have had in reference to me living at hill country place very well. Maintenance was in my apartment the day I spoke to Jordan to fix my issue and after they left, Jordan followed up with a phone call to make sure I was satisfied. If you are looking for a great, quiet, and affordable place to live, Hill Country is the place for you!!
Hill Country Place is without a doubt the best student apartments out there. I always felt comfortable going to the staff for help with any problem, especially Jordan and the manager Mickey. Any complication I had was fixed within the same day. I especially love that they make such an effort to create a community and they honestly go above and beyond on every single event. I have had the best time living here and would recommend this place to all of my friends.
Honestly, the experience here is been phenomenal. The crew and management are so nice. If youre moving to the UTSA area. This is the place to be, with events throughout the year to keep you tied in the community is fantastic. The apartments themselves are really clean and the layout is great. Again I say, if you move in this area. This is the place to be! Maintenance crew is cool when you meet them, and they are hard working. Much respect for them.
The staff is great, super friendly and welcoming. All maintenance is very quick and gets things fixed fast. Never any pest issues and the complex is very pet friendly, I have a great dane and the park is filled with many dogs all sizes that play together all the time. They always host super dope events with free food, drinks and giveaways. I personally have lived at multiple student living complexes and Hill Country is by far the best one. If you choose a different student living complex, you are choosing wrong. Hill Country is it!
Sent in the request for maintenance and at the earliest possible time they could come and fix it they did. Amazing.
I’ve lived here for the past 4 years, and I would definitely recommend Hill Country Place to anyone looking for a comfortable and safe living experience. I’ve never had any issues, and the staff are really down to earth. This is by far the best place to live on UTSA Blvd.
I’ve been at hill country for 4 years. They were always attentive to me and treated me with the upmost respect everytime I was in their office needing help. If something went wrong in my apartment, Maintence was always on top of my issues within 24 hours or less. I strongly recommend hill country place if you are looking for good treatment and a strong supporting staff!!
I lived at this apartment for two years and it’s been nothing short of awesome. The staff is incredibly helpful, the bus to campus is quick, the little monthly food events are always such a lovely surprise and life-saver, and it’s overall just a comfy, wonderful apartment that I’m so glad I chose to move to after living on campus! My only reason I am moving out now is it’s time I get an unfurnished home for myself but it’s been really great here. Thank you Hill Country for everything!
If google would allow me to give more than 5 stars I would because I have never been so impressed by the quality and management of student living apartments before. The general manager, Mickey, is the nicest most outgoing manager I have met and she is constantly throwing events like the annual Luau or the Rodeo Barbecue. Overall great atmosphere and amazing staff.
Hill country has been a great place to live not only because the apartments are nice and cozy, but because the staff will work tirelessly to make sure you are satisfied, not once have I walked into the office with a problem they werent able to fix in a matter of minutes. As far as the community of hill county goes, the staff organizes event so that way other tenants may get to know each other and make more friends. All around a great place to live with great people.
Absolute best Student Housing at UTSA! Ive had my fair share of bad experiences with student housing but let me tell you this is the best place you will ever live. The staff go above and beyond to make their residents happy. I throroughly enjoy living here. Ive been living here 6 months now and just renewed my lease for the following year. Ive never had a problem. The prices are great, the events are a lot of fun, the shuttle service is awesome - it runs from 7am until 10pm which is great! There is covered parking, a dog park, the rooms are big and spacious and you even get a 50 with Apple TV! Love love love it here!!!
Hill Countrys management and staff are always so kind and helpful. They are always throwing fun events for the residents unlike any other student living in the area, always a good time at Hill Country Place. Huge shoutout to Mickey for being such an awesome GM! You can really tell how much she cares about Hill Country and its residents.
Oh boy where do I begin! The staff in the front are always so welcoming and helpful. Even if it’s for the smallest thing they’ll go beyond to satisfy it. Their maintenance crew is always quickly to act and are extremely efficient at what they do! They’re always on top of all the emergencies that come up. Recently the wifi has been upgraded and it’s so fast now! Also during the winter storm we experienced their property manager Mickey was so helpful and amazing! Always checking in on residents to see if they’re okay! I had to settle for 5 stars since that’s all google allows but this property as a whole deserves a solid 9 or even a 10 star rating!
To whom it may concern,I was skeptical my freshmen year when searching for a place to live. College apartments typically have bad reputations and low expectations. With that being said, I am more than pleased with my experience at Hill Country Place! The apartments are nice, the staff is friendly, and everything is very easy to operate on the website in order to send in an application. All in all 10/10 experience, would recommend to a friend and to anyone reading this.
I just moved here and i like the environment so far and very nice people
I love it at Hill Country! The staff is really awesome and they make sure to do everything they can so your experience is great. They put on a lot of fun events and give out free prizes. If you need something fixed maintenance is really quick with getting back to you and fixing what you need fixed. The apartments are fully furnished, and my favorite part is the memory foam mattress! They are super close to campus and also have a shuttle that is really handy since parking can be a pain on campus. I highly recommend Hill Country!
Living at Hill Country Place has been a great experience if youre looking for student living. I have moved around each year and I have to say this place is my favorite. The staff is very friendly and are always there if you need anything. They also hold multiple free events each month to bring the community together. Maintenance is very fast in responding to requests and even following up to make sure the problem was fixed properly. The location is very convenient being right across from campus. They have their own shuttle service that strictly goes from campus to Hill Country. I’d recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place away from home.
Hill Country is a great complex! The staff is helpful and always so friendly to everyone creating a homey atmosphere for the residents and perspective residents. The apartments are also very nice, renovated or not, and Ive had little problems since moving in (and those problems I did have were tended to pretty quickly).
UPDATE: they fixed everything the next day. Love this place and have no more complaints. I will be staying here until I am done with my undergrad.I will be updating my review as soon as I hear back.Let me start off with the good. I love the staff and all the things they do for the residents. They all treat me very nicely and also treat my dog well. The amenities are great! The trails are literally right by the complex which is a huge plus. My only complaint is the bathroom. When I first moved in there was two big clumps of hair on the floor. No big deal, it was behind the toilet so it could be easily missed. But today (09/08/2020) I noticed some gunk in my sink drain. So I inspect it and it’s loads of brown hair (my hair is currently bright yellow) and other gunk. I still haven’t cleaned it all out but I pulled two large wads out. I haven’t check the shower drain. and will be contacting the office, but it grosses me out that they didn’t check to see this build up before I moved in. Especially during COVID 19 times. With my previous interactions, I’m sure they’ll fix it soon, but my parents and friends say that it should have been cleaned out beforehand.
Wow so amazing. Great location. Great management. Wonderful amenities
This is a great apartment complex with awesome management. The grounds are kept nice, and there are always community events and free food giveaways. There was a 3 month period where the Wifi was not working in my apartment, but they have since fixed it and continue to display great management skills.
I lived at Hill Country Place for almost 4 years and that alone speaks for itself. The property is at a fantastic location close to campus. The HCP staff is amiable, professional, and always ready to help. Maintenance promptness to address issues with the apartment is exceptional. The apartment itself is wonderful and spacious. It has a layout that allows the best interaction with your guests during a social event. From the creative events held for residents to the beautiful amenities in this property, Hill Country Place Apartments is THE student housing option to have the BEST living experience!
I love these apartments! The staff and property managers are so helpful and have a great relationship with all of their residents! Whenever Ive had issues, Ive always felt comfortable going to any of their staff members and receiving the help I need. Everyone here truly cares about you, and they all want you to enjoy your living experience with them. They host lots of fun events such as adopt a pet, the block party, Victoria Secret watch party, open mic night, and tons of other events. The property manager even makes omelletes for Friday morning brunch, and theyre DELICIOUS!!!! I highly recommend this apartment property. You just have to come and see it for yourself! :)
Starting the first day of move in, I was greeted by many people very excitedly and kindly. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The maintenance staff is very good with response time and always has a quick solution and is willing to help with more on the spot. Really appreciate the activities the staff have such as bringing lunch to our doors. They were very kind, upbeat and positive.
Apartment staff always friendly and helpful. Any issues that came up were tended to in a timely manner. Staff was good about communicating with tenants and the amenities are well kept. The trail behind the apartments are convenient when you have pets and there is a designated area for pet relief.
Beautiful and luxurious place to live. Reminds me of of a forest with all the trees and shade. The pool is weirdly shaped but it’s great! You dont have to worry about any college parties. Very mellow. Staff is friendly and are always willing to help. If you go to UTSA, it is a 2 min drive from campus.I definitely recommend living here.
Best student housing complex near UTSA, best management staff hands down!
Ive lived here for 4 years and it hands down beats every other place Ive stayed in. Its nowhere near as expensive as plenty other places and it provides all the flair. Not to mention all the events that they host and how if you have a problem in the unit maintenace is super fast and almost always has it cleared, next day latest. The staff is very friendly and the property owner (Mickey) and property manager (Gaston) are always helpful, understanding, and ready to work with you through tough spots. Highly recommend staying here.
Maintenance is fast and great! Rooms (and closets!) are spacious. They helped my roommate and I move apartments after a roommate situation smoothly and fast. Great trails surrounding the area! Staff is super nice and helpful! Bonus: free Yoga weekly!
I’ve lived here for a year already and they are the most welcoming staff ever. They are friendly , will help you with anything , if I need something for my apartment it is taken care of quickly and perfectly. They also have such a great vibe and always do something for everyone that lives here. Who doesn’t like free food? If your looking for a place to live , pick this place I regretted not getting here sooner!!
My stay at Hill Country has been absolutely phenomenal. I love everything from my roommates, to the management and staff in the office. Mickey, Kelsey, and Gaston, have created a true family environment with the complex’s numerous events, that bring the residents together. If you’re looking for a place to truly call home, I strongly recommend Hill Country Place.
I lived at Hill Country for two years and it wasnt the best experience. The actual apartment complex is nice and the room is big and spacious with great lighting, but the management was the only downside. My second year of living here, I got a new roommate (4 bedroom apt) and she was horrible. There were numerous incidents but the office didnt provide any support to the situation. I ended up leaving the apartment early to avoid the roommate and my other roommate also vacated shortly after. I wish the office would have handled the situation with the bad roommate better because they lost two tenants due to one persons actions. Also, I paid for a covered parking spot and my last month at the apartment I found out that they had sold my covered parking spot to someone else. I contacted the office and they said it was a mistake but nothing was ever done.
This is by far the BEST student housing I have lived in! Not only are they friendly and kind but they really care about their residences. They allowed my roommates and I to stay in our apartment because they know how much we love it while they renovate around us. Instead of having to move out and come back, they let us stay! We are so thankful for the staff and owner. Highly recommend this complex!
These are the perfect student apartments! Not only is rent very affordable, they care so much about their residents! They set up amazing events, such as late-night breakfasts during finals and yoga/zumba weekly, and every time you walk into the office, theres a conversation about your day has been and/or how things are in general. The pool, gym and clubhouse are all great hangout areas, and their new study room is so handy! The overall atmosphere is just the best!!
Hill Country Place is an amazing place. I would highly recommend it to all college students attending UTSA. The staff is super friendly and very caring. These apartments are extremely safe and secure. Each and every single person in the staff is fabulous and super helpful, but my personal favorite is Jaycee Queen. Love you Jaycee, but I love Mickey a tad bit more! I strongly suggest you living here if you are considering going to UTSA.
Great apartment complex, the front staff was very accommodating and friendly, Gaby was awesome, she really made my experience/tour there pleasant. The facility itself was awesome, great entertainment room, music and exercise room. Clean exterior, calm environment. Ive been to many apartment complexes and this one was one of the best ones by far.
The rooms are spacious and there are walk-in closets, too! I love the new modern look, with cool color tones & fancy light fixtures. The front office staff is also amazing!! They really care about their residents & work hard to make us feel at home. :)
Hill Country Place is easily the best student living apartments near UTSA. The amount of quality amenities for the price you pay is honestly crazy. Not to mention the leasing office here have the most helpful and nicest staff, like Alyssa, that really make you feel like you’re home. I strongly recommend living at Hill Country if you’re looking at student living.
Hill country place is the best student living apartment near UTSA. I really really appreciate the security guard Janis and I feel very safe with her. She is so kind and always watching out for us!
My daughter has been living here for 4 years. Ive always felt it was a safe for her to stay here. Theres a shuttle so she didnt have worry about parking at UTSA, they let her have her dogs there, Front office staff has always been helpful and nice and management is always quick to clarify any necessary information. Wish we had know about this when she first moved to San Antonio.I love Hill Country!
These apartments are conveniently located near the college. They have a friendly staff and create such a great environment. I met Manny, one of the staff members, at a recent event and we had a great conversation. He was able to answer any questions that I had and made me feel welcome. Definitely a great place to live!
Hill Country Place is by far the best apartment complex designed for student living in the UTSA area! The management team truly care about their residents, especially the property owner Mickey! Always have had a great experience at Hill Country Place and their rooms are incredible! P.S. Scott in the front desk provided me excellent support when I signed my lease! Look no further, Hill Country Place is the place to lease at!
I absolutely love Hill Country Place Apartments. I came to the property looking for a 2 bedroom with a friend and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my new home. The managers Mickey and Gaston have done a great job making sure their leasing staff is informed and helpful. I recommend you live here. This place will not upset you in anyway!!!😄😍😁
Its been amazing with great roommates, so far! I feel like I made the right choice to be part of the Hill Country Place. Front-desk staffs are helpful, kind and outreaching with activities to do in a positive vibe!Edit: After moving out over month passed by, they enforced on me a cleaning fee. provided with pictures and previous tenant damages, that had already been identified and written on file. Completely disregard that and you still will get charged.
Hill Country is a GREAT place to live at they have great security, so many student events with free food and goodies. Great 24hr gym and all week bike rentals!!
Hill Country Place exceeded my expectations when it came to quality, affordable housing for students. The amenities, rooms, and grounds are all well kept and taken care of. The staff are some of the nicest people you will meet. Jaycee, one of the leasing consultants, made sure I had all the information I needed before signing my lease and handled any problems I encountered during my time at HCP. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to live while at UTSA.
I have met the most friendly and professional staff for apartments near UTSA. The lobby is very modern and comforting while the gym has the newest equipment. The apartments are very nice and connect to a bike trail which is amazing for outdoors. I would recommend this to anyone who is currently looking for a place to live at.
I have been living here for three years now and I love it! Hill Country Place always makes sure it’s residents are comfortable and happy. The staff and are very nice and very easy going and the manager always puts her residents firsts
I love staying at HCP, the staff are so friendly and maintenance is always on top of things. When I moved in my unit was very clean even though I moved in earlier than usual. HCP has very good security and make me feel safe as well. I love it here !
The team at the office makes this place what it is! They are all super informative and quick to help whenever they are needed! Customer service is a proper 10/10! Also, one of the kindest teams Ive yet to come across!
I’ve lived at Hill Country place for 2.5 years. It’s honestly such a great place to live at. The staff is awesome and they are great with helping out on anything you need. They are very good with taking care of things you need ASAP, I really appreciate it. You need help at night? The courtesy patrol can help you out. I recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an apartment!
The people at the front desk were very kind and friendly. They didnt barrage me with numerous of question, and they allowed me to have a good time with my friends in the offices recreational area.Theres a gym there, but it isnt decked out by any means, and I would recommend this if you cant get to UTSAs gym or an actual gym. Theres not a lot of work machines to exercise on, and theres no free weights. Theres a shelf where I can assume you place them, but thats the extent of it.Theres a coffee/hot chocolate maker which I found to be really cool. Unfortunately, there were ants coming in the droves for the mess that some patrons leave behind. It wasnt really all that great, and it ended up making me want to ditch the hot beverage. In one of my friends apartment, there was a water problem that wasnt addressed for a few months, so he had water coming from his ceiling. I dont think they do much inspection checks to assure things are in working condition, but maybe thats more of a fault on the inspector than it is to a negligent tenant.Overall, the pricing and the perks of the apartments arent a bad deal. I would recommend this place versus the other apartments Ive been to in this area, and I would give them a second chance.
Moved here from out of state this summer, and I got lucky that this was the first place I found myself at! The staff works harder than anyone expects them to, so Hill Country feels the most like home. Take advantage of their free food events several times a month where they make some actually pretty good food, and free Zumba and Yoga classes every week!Being located on the Leon Creek Greenway is a big plus for me, and about a month ago they paid race fees for me and several other residents to participate in the Battle of Leon Creek run, which I think they said they do every year. They do a good job keeping the grounds clean and well kept, and the buildings are well maintained too. The few times weve needed maintenance theyve been quick to fix things and the maintenance guys are very talkative and friendly. The renovated units are nice, as well as the new clubhouse and freshly repainted buildings (although I do kind of miss the lively color scheme they used to have outside!)Already renewed for next year which says a lot!
By far the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. AMAZING caring staff, great amenities, AWESOME events with delicious food! Most important, it feels like HOME! I would highly recommend to friends and other UTSA students. Can I live here forever?
Im a Junior at UTSA and since freshman year I have been apartment jumping to find the right place and Hill Country Place checked all my boxes and more. It really feels like home and this led to me renewing my lease here. This place gives you the best bang for your buck maybe even a little more than you pay for. The manager Mikki as well as Gaston and the rest of the office/maintenance crew is super helpful and kind, you never fell as if you are just a resident. Rather this place feels like a big family, definitely staying here till I graduate!
I am not normally one to write reviews but I would like to personally warn any students looking into living at this complex of what to expect from the management at Hill Country Place. Prior to living here I wish I could have been warned. Listen to all the bad reviews because this could be you if you choose to live here. You better hope you find a good roommate prior to moving in because if you request to move into another unit be prepared to be belittled by the manager by being being called “an immature college student with communication issues” due to having issues with a roommate. Not only did she say this to me when requesting a new unit due to roommate conflict but she insisted I have a remediation with her, my roommate and I even though I was willing to pay my full transfer fee and there were other units available. Second of all, she is not a councilor nor therapist to be conducting “interventions”, she is just a manager. Obviously not a very good one based on all of the management complaints. If anything I believe she is the one with communication issues due to the fact that she never apologized and had to have another manager apologize in her behalf. I also was forced to move out of my unit and relocate to another unit with a 3 day notice prior to spring semester in order to empty out a two bedroom unit once my roommate chose to move out and I was living alone. For no reason whatsoever. It was inconvenient and unfair. It gets worse. My lease ended on the 14th of May and when I requested 3 more days due to the fact that I was graduating and needed to walk at commencement they denied letting me stay any longer. They did not even allow me to pay extra for a few days because the manager lied and told me someone was moving in days after I moved out. My roommate was still living there for a whole month after and nobody ever moved in. I had to drive to Houston then drive back to SA just to graduate because this place was to inconsiderate to allow me to stay 3 extra days. While I was moving out I went to the front office and requested a maintenance man to help me lift a heavy box into my small car and the staff told me I needed to hire a moving company. A moving company? To lift 1 box? Wow, is that even a thing? Talk about a petty staff. Not to mention I had already received approval from a maintenance guy, I was just trying to reach him through the front office staff. Bottom line, living here was the worst experience of my entire college career at UTSA and would not recommend, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Wish 0 stars was a thing.
I absolutely love hill country!! The management and all the staff are all AMAZING! I spent 3 years at hill country and I loved it! They had so many different events all through out the year! If you have any choice for apartments near UTSA definitely pick hill country! 💜
MY CAR GOT STOLEN HERE! It doesn’t help to have a covered spot since that’s were my car got took from. Other peoples have also been stolen and they didn’t notify any residents or hire more security. I was not helped at all when it came to trying to get camera footage because they acted like the cameras aren’t good quality, that it would be a lot of footage to review, and they weren’t pointed at the spot I pay for. The apartments themselves are okay. It’s a nice amount of space with okay appliances but kind of dirty when I moved in. THEY ARE BAD ABOUT TOWING PEOPLE. The visitor spots are also always took on the weekends and when they are full the security told my friend that was staying with my to drive around until someone left. Not worth risking getting your car stole would definitely invest in somewhere that has a gate in this town or living on campus.
Lived here since fall 2017 and HCP Is honestly the best student living there is, maintenance is always very efficient and quickly when you out the work orders in there isn’t any surcharges for dumb stuff, the shuttle runs on a timely manner and it only takes bout 15 min between each. But the best part about hill country place is the stuff running it, they are always so friendly and involved with their residents there is always food and activities! My favorite office worker is ANDREW! He is always so attentive and funny and he also makes sure you are well taken care of. HCP 10/10 recommend!
GREAT STAFF and amazing management! Ive been living here two years now and its been memorable. Even my little dachshund Penny loves the dog park and the occasional doggy date nights! I love the atmosphere and all the great vibes.
I love living here. They know college students are broke and hungry and they go out of their way to create all these inviting events AND FEED US! They always greet us with a smile, and genuinely want to help. The managers Mickey and Gaston are both super helpful and caring, and the maintenance staff is super timely and professional. Not to mention the rest of the leasing team, always keeping things lively at the events! Truly no complaints! Thank you HCP!
This is the worst place I have ever lived. They don’t make you feel safe, if they like you they will help if they don’t like you they won’t even speak to you. They made me pay over $600 in damage when MY roommates had to pay none. How is that fair? Literally the most corrupted place there is. Do yourself a favor and find a better apartment. Also they said they would give you rewards if you ever saw a problem and had proof. They use to ask me all the time and I would tell and show them. What reward did they give me? -none. They gave me $600 to pay for which I should not be charged and more arguments than I ever needed. Managers are childish and so is the staff.EDIT: I was not the only pet owner, two of my roommates had a dog and a cat.
I have been to Hill Country Place Apartments about four times. Each time I walk in the staff greets me with a smile, the vibe in the office is so much fun and everyone is always willing to help. I have gotten to know some of the staff members and they still have a smile no matter how many times I have walked in. There is so much enthusiasm and excitement on this property! I am beyond excited to move in this Fall!
Without a doubt the best of the UTSA apartment scene! The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. If you go in and have to wait a bit it’s most likely because Alyssa is helping me get my life together. She’s too awesome and very helpful! If you are looking for a place to call home, this is it!
2017 was my first time living alone and Hill country made my transitions from my hometown so easy. The staff and maintenance are great!! Especially Jordan and Mickey!! The have super cool events throughout the month and most importantly they are pet friendly!!
I love it here! Everyone is so nice, the events and amenities are great! The bus comes pretty often and the noise isn’t that bad. I love my room (4 bed renovated) very spacious living!
Hill Country Place has always been great to me and my friends. Mickey and her staff put on amazing events for their residents, more than any complex I’ve seen. I’ve never had a bad time at the Hill Country Place!
Hill Country’s staff are definitely welcoming, friendly and nurturing. They keep the community engaged by throwing events and serving food to residents. The environment is well taken care of and neat. Will definitely recommend to a friend, 11/10 service.
The Hill Country Place Apartments are really nice and the atmosphere is really relaxing, great place for students to get their work done and not feel too stressed. Stopped by to ask some questions about the apartments and Manny was very helpful in answering all of my questions and went into even more details that I would have ended up coming back to ask because I didnt even think of them. Staff is very friendly and nice. Great Place!
Thank you so much to the staff of Hill Country Place!! Yall made my experience so worthwhile! 3 years of great fun and a room full of sweet memories! I will miss my home away from home, but the support yall gave me and the love that was shown was like no other! I moved here 3 years ago and that was the first place that was mine. My room; my little cave, where I was able to be myself and cherish each moment. I also loved being able to share moments with everyone when they had events! From bbqs, to Thanksgiving dinners, to Victoria Secret Show viewing parties! The fun was wonderful! Thank you for the love Hill Country! ☺️❤️
I have lived here the past year and have been completely satisfied with everything. The staff are friendly, the maintenance fix things fast, they have tons of fun events for residents to participate in and offer tons of free food. My only small complaint is how there are barely any spots for visitors to park.
Couldnt have asked for a more friendly and helpful staff. Despite all other reviews, if youre a UTSA student, Hill Country Place is the place to live. It is so close to campus and the shuttle service is awesome. Definitely has made my college experience worthwhile.
I am currently going on my second year living here at HCP. My favorite part about the apartments would be the office staff. They are all so welcoming and sweet and never make you feel like a burden if you ask them a thousand questions a week like I do. The maintenance also deserves an award due to the fact that I have never waited longer than 48 hrs at most for a request to be completed. Another great thing is all the events that the apartments host for the students here-there are tons and they are totally worth going to! Last year I won a Cheesecake factory giftcard at a Girls Night Victoria Secret Watch party. They fed us sushi and sweet treats and also had fun raffles. This is just one great examples of the events they host.I had a rough move in my freshman year, but it had more to do with the cleanliness of the roommate that I had moved in with than anything the office could control. When I went to them about my concerns that quickly sent in a cleaning crew and did everything they could to make it up. This year I also renewed to a renovated apartment and was worried about the two week move out between apartments, but the awesome staff worked out my move in so I wasnt displaced and worried about work for two weeks. Also, after hearing stories from friends at other apartments, HCP gives you the most bang for your buck. You pay rent and electric and those prices compared to others in the area are fairly low. With rent you get all the great amenities included such as apple tv, a large pantry (this may sound like a duh thing, but there are apartments around here that dont have pantries), the 24/7 computer room (which is CRUCIAL!!), internet is included and super fast, the bikes to take on the trail, the always upgrading gym, and like I said before there are tons of events hosted. Also the distance to campus is unbeatable!!
Honestly as this is my first time living on my own. Hill Country place is a great start. The staff is always willing to help out. Miguel from the maintenance team was very helpful and friendly. The office staff is very warm and welcoming. 10/10 already recommended. 😃
These other people leaving bad reviews must just be impossible to please because I love these apartments! They always have cool events going on! A few months ago they had a 5k race with a bunch of sponsors with free food! They also brought me a cupcake to my apartment door on my birthday :) They have lit covered parking, plenty of visitor parking, and they are literally across the street from campus. People are always grilling out at the pool or having pool parties. Ive lived at 2 other apartments around UTSA and the management was awful, the pools were always closed, and maintenance never came. Its so nice finally living at an apartment that feels like a community! If youre looking for an affordable, safe, fun place to live, definitely choose here.
Both of my children reside in the Hill Country Apartments off UTSA BLVD. I have hear nothing but great things about there stay there so far. If my kids are happy there, that’s says enough for me to give a five star rating!!! I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
The Best Student Living Apartments by UTSA. Mickey and her Office Staff, Maintenance & Security Staff go above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of at HCP. You guys are The Best!!! We couldn’t be any happier that our daughter is a part of the Hill County community.
I am so happy that I chose to live here at Hill Country! This was my first semester living in student housing and I was nervous about the type of experience I was going to have, but it has been great. The staff is so welcoming, and I feel very safe & secure here. I recommend anyone to live here!
These apartments are great! You definitely get what you pay for! Such a quite yet fun community to be apart of! They do so many events for the residents and give out so much free food!! Definitely recommend living here!
Staff is excellent and accommodating. Quick maintenance service. Very super pet friendly! Rooms are 10/10 layouts and furnishings. I high key recommend touring the apartments if your even remotely interested
I love living at Hill County Place! I enjoy going to the little/big events Hill County Place plans for the residents. The staff and management are all nice and friendly to talk to!! The maintenance staff gets to work orders quickly! I’m proud to be living here!
If your going to UTSA, then HCP is the place to be! The Mangers and staff are nothing but constantly warm and welcoming! I love that the apartment complex feels nice and secluded with wonderful scenery of nature. Only started living here in August, but I can’t see myself moving to any other apartment while attending UTSA these remaining 2-3 years! Nothing but good vibes all around! :)
Just recently moved to San Antonio back in January, and could not have asked to live a a better place. The people are inviting. Maintenance is top notch if ever in need. And the associates that work here make you feel like family. New paint, clubhouse, and dog park are some of just the bonuses. Would recommend to anyone looking to attend UTSA, and looking to make a positive impact on their college experience
Staff is super cool, experienced no issues compared to most other student apartments, very close to campus, maintenance doesnt take long to get things fixed, and management is always hosting fun events. Very welcoming atmosphere.
My top pick for apartment complexes around UTSA! Extremely close to campus, shuttle runs every 10-15 minutes, affordable & just a quality student living experience! The office staff has been nothing but extraordinary; respond to complaints in a timely manner, down to earth, & friendly. The apartment amenities are vast! It comes with a 50-inch TV and Apple TV at no extra cost, resort style pool, 24/7 fitness center, & much more. Choose the best student living around the UTSA area!
Amazing staff and environment!! Moving was swift and very easy! Staff help you with everything and make you feel comfortable and treat you like family! 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for student living apartment complex!! Come give them a visit and see for yourself!!
I absolutely love living here! Staff and maintenance are super nice and helpful at all times. The environment is 100% ideal and the views are some of the best! By far the best student living experience Ive had
I moved here from The Reserve, which was by far the worst apartment complex Ive ever lived in. Coming here, my expectations were high based off the reviews. Living here, my experience has been better than advertised when I walked in. The whole staff is very friendly. Arnoldo is the one who helped us out and is a person you can really count on.
I moved to these apartments not knowing what it was going to be like but it turned out being a great place to live. all the events that the staff throw for us are really fun and neat, it shows that they care. just a great place to stay at in general.
I have lived here for three years and its the best place. The staff is very nice and the property manager does so much to make this place great. They have block parties once a year and they always have free food and watch parties. The doggo park is very nice and have a good view of the greenbelt from my balcony.
Great, came in and fixed the problem really quick and helped with other small repairs
Hill country is a wonderful place for your child to live while attending classes at UTSA. Its environment is friendly staff is great. They have a convenient shuttle every 15 minutes. Great monthly events provided by staff.
This place is awful. Security sucks, aggressive dogs, reckless driving, and staff wont help with problems if they dont like you. They definitely judge, managers and staff. Mickey, Michael, and Gaston are the worst. Mickey is immature, barged into the apartment screaming at me because Michael lied saying I threatened her when I spoke to him about a problem, and he said she was to busy to talk to me and I had to come in on their time. Gaston accused me of doing criminal activities, then they told me I had to scrub and paint my own door that got damaged and said it was my problem or I had to pay them to fix it or I paint it. I go in to get the paint and they tell me I cant have it. Plus, they rarely answer the phone and it goes to office hours when there are people in the office, how do I know? Because I have to go inside and talk to the managers who dont solve anything in the first place when I go to them to address problems and theyre just sitting behind the desk and will only talk to you when you tell them what you need to talk about and if they have time. Theyll probably charge me or do something ridiculous because they will see this post. Beyond happy my lease is up. GO TO ANOTHER STUDENT HOUSING.
Some of the nicer student housing apartments the only downside I’d say is maybe how small the pool is. Though the really big thing about Hill Country Place is the staff is absolutely amazing. Really friendly people with a warm genuineness to them.
When your a student and new to San Antonio this is a awesome place to start living on your own or with others! The office people are very friendly and helpful. As are the maintenance staff that are usually able to help in a short amount of time!
Okay so I’ve lived at three different student living apartments while at my time at UTSA because none of them were a great place honestly. I’ve lived at prado, highview, and outpost, and none of them compare to how clean and nice the apartments are at hill country. Their appliances don’t break down every so month like the other places and they’re not run down either. If you’re reading this THIS IS UR SIGN TO CHOOSE HILL COUNTRY. You will not regret it and get your money’s worth.
Everything about hill country is amazing! Including the staff, they really make you feel like family. Peyton is defiantly my favorite, shes always ready to help with whatever I need. Shes the real OG. (Alyssa is pretty cool too)
It was ok for a little bit, but the fact that the staff is allowed in whenever they please to do work, sucked, and I was roommated with this woman that was a complete psycho, and to top it all off I was treated like a child my entire stay. The pet fee is ridiculous, and the rooms are so small. I paid 650.00 for one room in a completely furnished apartment, it was my very first apartment and I can honestly say, since than, having multiple apartments now, you can find better. They just want your money.
This is an amazing place to live. Its my home away from home and Im so happy to have picked this place. The maintenance is very speedy and friendly. Ive had no problems getting in touch with the front desk either when I have a problem. Thank you hill country place for making my living space one less problem to worry about.
Love the apartment complex! Everyone there is sooo friendly. The living room, bedrooms and closets are spacious! They even have a nice outdoor workout area and doggy park! Soooo fun! 🤩Would definitely recommend living here!
The study rooms of Hill Country Place are amazing, theyre kept incredibly clean and allow space for different events to take place in them. The front desk is also very respectable and knowledgeable about what is going on in the community.
I love Hill Country Apartments. They are so helpful! Any question that I have get answered right away. My unit was clean and I love how we can pay are rent in bulk. Alyssa and Kelsey are super helpful, love them so much.
I’ve been a student here at UTSA here in San Antonio all four years and for my final few years I found myself trying to get back into student living. From living in two different houses and also housing outside of the area I never found it quite as easy to stick around the campus. Hill Country Place has great staff which is always helpful when there was anything to my concern. UTSA is not a campus which has upperclassmen so much on campus, but by living here I found it easy to meet new people and stay social. With all that being said I would recommend any new students in the area to check out ill Country Place.
Love the fact that the apartments are so close to campus, the majority of the residents that I have met are awesome, and layed back. One of the employees, Manny, is awesome! He is the life of the party at events, he is also very knowledgeable and answered all my questions! I highly recommend living there. :)
Super fun atmosphere with great people in the office. Everyone is very friendly and quick to assess any needs you may have. The views are also very amazing and the pool is probably my favorite part.
Whoa! Where do I start? I’ve lived in hill country place for 2 years with my dog Tazz. Keep in mind I had just moved to San Antonio with no family surrounding me. However hill country made me feel so welcomed and gave me a chance to form new friendships. Mickey (Property Manger) creates so many events such as the “cowboy bbq”, Midnight breakfast, haunted maze and even doggie date nights just so residents can meet other residents and form a huge family! The employees are super awesome also and every time I need help with anything they were always there. Honestly if you are looking for a place to stay during your college career and have an amazing experience go check out Hill Country place. It’s honestly worth it:)
Hill Country Place is awesome! Ive been living here for 3 years now, and have to say I like it a lot. They have a lot of fun events for residents, its close to campus, and they have a dog park! If youre looking to live in student housing I would definitely recommend HCP!
What can be said about Hill Country Place? Everything! Its a great place to be and live, great environment to reside, pet-friendly, and always abuzz with activity and events. You can meet truly wonderful people here, both residents and staff. Great location in San Antonio as well. And dont forget this…Attractive. Staff.
Im very happy with my choice on moving to the Hill Country Place in the Fall. When i went to visit I was very happy with the staff and felt like i was welcome the moment I came into the office. The UTSA campus is basically right next door so that will be nice when heading to class in the morning since its a short drive or shuttle ride away. Im very happy with my choice in apartment complex!!!
Both of our college kids reside in this complex. Between them and their friends or neighbors we’ve met have high reviews. Of course with COVID many of the amenities have been closed for safety reasons and understand. If our young adults continue to be pleased then of course recommendation to others will be as such. Continue to do well Hill Country.
I have been living here for 3 years and haven’t had problems yet! Staff and management have been great to me. They’re always some type of event going on, 2-3 times a week. From kickboxing classes to yacht parties on Lake Travis. I honestly don’t like writing reviews, but this place has never failed to surprise me on how professional the employees are and how many prizes they give away. I’ll be leaving Texas when I graduate this spring and hope I can find another apt company that can treat me as well as hcp apt.
Amazing staff. Maintenance will always take care of your emergencies and work orders in a timely manner. They have great resident events and they always make me feel at home. This will be ny 3rd year living here and I have no regrets.
Management here is terrible. I have never met a more disorganized, unhelpful office (and I say that having lived in many, many apartment complexes). I got a half-intelligible phone call 2 hours before the office closed telling me that I had a charge on my account, and if I didnt pay THAT DAY then they would fine me $100 the next day. After paying on the ghetto online payment site I was charged an exorbitant credit card fee which management refused to waive (they did give me 2 hours business notice, after all). When I moved out I was sent a final electricity bill which I paid. The day AFTER they cashed my check they sent me another final bill with the charges still on it! My email inquiry was met with stony silence as they didnt respond for almost a month, and my phone calls almost never got through. Lots of my friends in the complex had similar experiences. The internet was off and on for months. The apartment was dirty when I moved in. Fully furnished means couches and a mattress. The only upside is that the apartment itself wasnt bad (mine wasnt - some of my friends had worse ones). My advice? Stay far away.
There are so many apartment complexes on UTSA BLVD. You would be stupid to live here. The pool is always murky and the gym is dirty and useless. The rooms are small and the living space is worn down. I moved in with stains all over the walls in the bathroom and even though I put in a maintenance request twice, they never fixed it and I ended up scrubbing the bathroom. This can all be offset if there was good management. The manager is an ex cop who doesnt ever think shes wrong. Very strong woman who will fight you even if they made a mistake in billing. Parking spaces are extremely tight, if you drive a truck, you are already out of luck. My recommendation is to go elsewhere. There is enough competition for housing in UTSA. Hill Country and Outpost must be skipped.
Great place!! Maintenance requests get answered quickly. Gym is nice and cute. There’s a bong fire pit with swinging chairs which I love!! Management always answers any questions I have.
Great apartment complex. Very close to the school, which is nice. Theres also a shuttle service to the school, making it convenient for those who dont have a car or dont feel like driving. All members of the facility staff are kind and helpful!
The community is very nice and the security is top tier. I like the way they plan social events and how we are always in the know whenever something is going on.
This place will charge you a lot of $$$ in move out fees for things that dont pertain to you. I left my room completely clean and I know several people that left their place in shambles yet they didnt get charge a dime. Total inconsistency. The parking sucks. The place is swarming with silverfish and maintenance has a bad habit of entering when ever they please. The new manager is a bit of a jerk.
I have the best the neighbors on earth!!! Would recommend it to EVERYONE!!!
This apartment complex made moving out extremely difficult for me. I needed to get out of my lease due to issues with my roommate and that was a hassle all on its own. Aside from that, move out was to be done by 9am July 31st... a very inconvenient time for someone who works 2 jobs. I had to leave a few personal belongings in my room because I was running late to work. The office told me they could not let me in my room since I terminated my lease at 9 am but instead they would hold my belongings for up to 30 days. They said I could pick up my stuff the next day but the reason I had such urgency to get my things was because I was supposed to go on vacation and had to go without my belongings. I arrived at the office 4 days later when I returned and they only returned my laptop and my backpack which were just thrown in a trash bag. I have yet to see if damages were made to my laptop that was just thrown in a bag like that. I was still missing a box that contained my jewelery, some of which were diamond and others included gifts from my grandparents. Thousands of dollars worth of jewelery I assumed was being held in the office like they said, my work uniform and other personal belongings. When I asked where my box of belongings were I was told they were thrown in the trash. Apparently the office trashes what they dont see as electronics. How exactly they knew there were or were not electronics in my box is beyond me. Had they said they only hold electronics I wouldve been back in the office to get my things asap. All my personal belongs are now in the trash and they do not see an issue with that. Another issue I had with this place is the girls in the front office have terrible attitudes and act as if they run the place. I only had a positive experience with maybe 2 employees there during my entire lease. The staff is not concerned with you as an individual. The rooms were extremely small, big problem with bugs, and unfriendly staff. I say avoid living here at all cost.Edit: I was finally able to speak with the property manager who is apparently very hard to get a hold of. She was very rude and disrespectful. Brought up unnecessary personal information and was just very unprofessional. My only regret in college was living in this terrible place.
The best! everyone has been so welcoming since day 1. such a fun community to surround yourself with and has definitely gave me the best college experience. i love the staff 🫶🏼 has been my home away from home
Amazing place to live just moved out due to the fact that I just graduated and decided to leave SA!! One of the better places to live in the UTSA area they stayed really consistent with security unlike the other places that have had huge drug busts and people being held at gun point, they had minor break ins LIKE EVERY APARTMENT complex has but other than that i had an amazing experience here the two years i stayed. i would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality place to live in this area. However i did have one problem and it was that we did get charged for a chair that was broken by my roomates friend when we had a little get together!! But i guess when a situation like that happens you dont know who did so its understandable
Great atmosphere, and really nicely kept. Apartments are well looked after and spacious with great facilities in the complex. Plenty of space for parking for both residents and visitors which is great! Friendly team of people work here too!
Really nice comfortable furniture, with spacious living rooms and bedrooms. Modern kitchen appliances with planter of counter space, and a huge fridge. Also the outdoor pool and sitting area is very nice and well kept, and has some very comfortable hanging seats.
Maintain Knock once then just come into your room they also take a full week to get anything done. They will find some reason to change you when you move out. The pool is always dirty. There is no parking at all, residents will park in the visitors because there no normal parking. So you can’t have people over, but they have a lot of cover parking that no one wants to pay almost 200 dollars for.
Andrew & Arnoldo were extremely helpful and patient when I passed by for a parking permit. Everyone is always so nice at the leasing office along with great property managers Mikey and Gaston. Keep up the great work guys !
Hill country place has been an amazing place to stay at. The workers here are extremely nice and also the maintenance is very good. Truly an amazing place to stay and i don’t plan on leaving until i graduate!
One word, unprofessional. Lived there for 4 years; never late on rent, never had an issue. 4 months after I move out I receive a letter from a a collection agency regarding a bill I never, ever, received. By this time, this had already posted to mine and my parents credit. I tried contacting a manager and was ALWAYS told they were not available. I have multiple emails I sent in an attempt to resolve the matter. I paid the bill but the balance was still posted on my credit. On TOP of all that mess, the charges were seriously bogus! And my roommates didnt get charged for the charges regarding the common area - so I paid for all of that. Truly disappointing. If you want to be treated like a child & not have someone be professional, this is the place for you! Dont let the smiley faces fool you!
I’ve lived at HCP for about a year now and I love it! It really has anything you could need; the amenities are great, the staff is the best, and I always feel safe here. HCP has definitely had a super positive impact on my college experience.
I have no idea why people would put 5 stars for this place. Its honestly the worst choice out of all the apartments on UTSA blvd or even in the area. This place straight up sucks. Terrible appliances, never ending problems, and dont even bother with maintenance cause they will never come. As soon as my lease was up i got out of there as fast as possible. But of course this place is so stingy and greedy they send debt collectors after you without even a warning. Now they want over $1,000 for damages when most of them were there long before i moved in. I had 2 bedrooms to myself here and i was never late on rent, even if the managers like you they will still ask for more once you move out. In the end moving here is the absolute worst choice you could make, trust me do NOT move here.
Spent 4 years here, excellent staff and accommodations are fantastic for the price. Having to move on kind of sucks, actually!
Is being rude part of the front desk job requirement? Every time I go to the front office, the employees/receptionist are having their own conversations and act like anyone who walks in is interrupting and bothering them.
This place will charge you $100+ in damages after you move out that dont pertain to you. I dont write reviews but Id avoid living here, it happened to several people over the course of several years up until recently. If that doesnt further convince you there was gunshots fired at the building I was living at which was suppose to be near the safest area of the complex.
