Gates open 24/7. Our car was broken into last night. They gates have been open like this for months now. Since we signed the lease three weeks ago it has been nothing but disappointing. We are not here for lack of options, we are here for the elementary school feeder pattern and that reason alone. Dont even get me started on all the other issues. General Manager, Manuel Fuentes, I have receipts for you.When we signed the lease, our leasing agent was let go. Esmerelda and Alma took over, and included in their unprofessional emails they actually told me why Rebekah Fore was let go...........I am not sure that is entirely legal.When we picked up the keys, we asked if they wanted to do a walk through with us. Esmerelda told my wife, oh I did with my manager, it is ready to go....well the pictures below speak of themselves.Many messages through active building, voicemails, and emails, go unanswered and there is no feedback.We never received our $500 move in special and had to send several emails and messages through active building. No response. We had to physically go into the building and talk to someone to get them to adjust the account.****maintenance team was amazing in dealing with our issue. We were really worried a kid or someone would get hurt by the glass everywhere, and they promptly brought by a broom and dustpan for us to clean up the glass****

Theres a lot that I can say about this complex; rent here at your own risk. About a month to the day after moving in here, I noticed issues with my AC unit not getting cold and constantly getting hot. I put in numerous requests, thankful maintenance was quick to help fix it, but then the AC broke completely due to a leak in my unit downstairs. As that leak was happening, I started to notice black mold in my bathroom along the AC unit on the inside. Whomever installed the unit installed it wrong, causing a leak from the inside unit. My AC had to be turned off in the summertime, causing temperatures in my apartment to rise to 80 degrees and up. It got so hot in here they had to put two window units and a fan in here to cool it down, which barely helped! It took them a month and a half after getting the runaround to get my inside AC unit fixed; mailboxes are constantly getting broken into, the front gate was broken for months, and appliances keep going out! And upper management wont even email you back on issues that the leasing office cant even give you a straight answer on. April cant come fast enough, but I will for sure not be renewing my lease here!

Aaron gave me a really good tour last Friday ! I was kinda in the fence between these and another community but his customer service is really whats making me want to apply here. He was very informative and nice. The whole staff was great, I got to see some of the other management team and they were all very sweet.The apartments themselves are really nice overlooking the beautiful hill country. I am excited to sign a lease here soon.Thanks for your great customer service Aaron!

I have been living at this complex for nearly two years and have had a good experience so far. When I first toured, the leasing consultant Esmeralda was professional, kind, and made sure all my questions were answered. This made me comfortable in my decision to move here. Ever since then, it’s always nice seeing her friendly face around the property and makes me feel valued as a resident. Nick from the maintenance team generally responds to work orders within a 24 hour time frame. The pool is a major plus in this Texas heat. During the cooler days, the hot tub is great to have as well. If you have pups, there are two spacious dog parks. The gym and cycling room are fully equipped with anything you may need to have a good basic workout. All in all, the staff, the renovated units and amenities make me happy to call this place home!

***updated 11/1*** I talked with the owner and he offered some solutions and was apologetic...assured me they had paperwork in the front office for me to sign so I could receive a $100 credit.....but when I went to the office to sign the paperwork for the credit they had no idea what I was talking about, no idea where the paperwork was, and the young man wrote down the wrong amount. I quickly corrected him because he was offering me four times what was agreed upon and I didnt want him to get in trouble, he seems like a nice young man.They did fix two of the severe issues......with putty smeared over the water damage and rotted wood. They didnt even paint over it. Just left yellow putty smeared on the wood.They still have not given me the credit I signed paperwork for either. They have three different office numbers and three different apps for residents.....its convoluted.Wanted a garage and now the prices have gone up to $190. Seems suspicous to have over five break-ins and suddenly the garage costs skyrocket.......that usually means someone in the office is in on it and tipping off thieves/gang members. I know that sounds extreme but that always been the case in my experience.We will be getting a townhouse with an attached garage at Ridgeline for that price. I will say that my neighbors are really amazing.Gates are still not fixed and the spa is broken. Going on six months with broken gates. Holidays are approaching so expect more thefts to happen.Whatever the owner or management offer as solutions is never followed through with to completion.Luxury.....they need their eyes checked. They also painted over the previous tenants damages with SEMI GLOSS instead of FLAT. It made everything they tried to fix worse.***Management - dont bother replying with contact us directly with any issues because you were sent a drop box link with over 500 photos of damage and filth from the previous residents and not a word was said. I am happy to post them publicly since you didnt want to respond when it was sent to your leasing team.

Pros: Nice layout. A rated elementary campus and secondary campuses. Friendly staff.Cons: Roaches! We officially moved in yesterday. We were greeted by mature German Roaches. This our second night, Ive killed several Roaches which pisses me off. Ive never lived with pest! Just disgusting. The mosquitos are bad. Along with purchasing roach traps. I had to buy a mosquito traps because we have bites. I prays its not from the roaches. I have small children and an infant. Our unit was lightly cleaned. Still visible dust. The carpet was not. Our carpet is digny and rough. Our toilet runs throughout the night which luckily water is allicated. Theres other minor issues. The biggest is the damn bugs man. I am just so sad. I feel duped! It wasnt until after I signed my lease people started complaining about roaches. I would have NEVER moved here. Also, I think the previous tent owned pets because my son has had asthma flares these last two nights. Ive had to give him his steroid last night and tonight, along with his inhealer. Which is triggered by indoor mold, pet fur, and several other outside allergies. I am also allergic to indoor/ outdoor mold. I have been sneezing and coughing since last night. I am contacting my renter insurance to see if they can test for mold just because mold isnt visible doesnt mean it wasnt wiped down with bleach.Second con: The residential portal is not a great platform at all. Theres also not an option to pay with your bank account to avoid the processing fee. When we paid our prorated rent the fee was $12.99. I now see our first month rent with a processing fee of $43.Thrid con: A supposed tree fell on the gate. So the gates both entrance are broken. I do not feel safe because I live in the front. Our previous complex kept them locked during office hours, open them during evening and were locked by 9 p.m.Fourth con: You will spend $50 for one gate opener per household. If you own more than one car you will have to purchase another one for $50This was not disclosed nor outlined in the application. Also, if you dont have a gate opener you cant use the gym. The complex also doesnt offer at least one covered parking with the option to pay a month fee for additional parking. Covered parking is $50 month.* A pest control ticket was submitted immediately per my request yesterday and I have to wait until Tuesday. I understand that theres certain days per contract hours. I didnt make a fussHowever thats inexcusable when this unit is infested with roaches. I am not hyping either theres an infestation when theres baby roaches. Overall, I regret leaving my previous complex to live here. I am just dissatisfied overall.

Absolutely loved living here!! The pool was very nice and well patrolled at night during the closed hours. The residents picked up their dogs mess about 95% of the time and looked out for each other and the dogs. The view from the hill is serene. The spin bikes were the best part of my gym experience although some of them were needing a little maintenance. I never had roach issues here which is a true blessing for me. The maintenance return time/completion was reasonable considering the amount of residents on this property. I thoroughly enjoyed trash valet because the trash area itself has raccoons and skunks at night plus the overfill is a bit overwhelming at times. Dont miss the valet hours!! They move with the highest efficiency. The front desk is professional. I never really had a reason to communicate directly because of the portal and their efficiency in response. Also I love the printer is next to the computer so it was a true pleasure and relief as a college student I had this office that is 100% reliable. Thank you for you hard work.

ROACH HOTEL! I am into my 3rd yr here and the roach problem has yet to be resolved. They are slow to respond and sometimes don’t respond at all to remedy this disgusting problem. I love my apartment and hate moving so I stayed, hoping things would change and they have gotten worse. Had to throw my Keurig away because it was infested and have found them in my dishwasher and refrigerator! I have woken up at night to them crawling on me in bed! The property manager told me that’s part of apartment living and I recently put in another request to have my apartment exterminated and almost 1 week later I have yet to hear from them. This is just one of MANY problems I have had dealing with management addressing my concerns. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my lease. Don’t let the facade fool you! A few of my neighbors have also had roach problems and a few have moved because of this issue.

Love love LOVED living here! Staff is great. Community is clean, safe, and quiet. Apartments are so reasonably priced and the location is great (besides 1604 construction). Random things I love about this community that I think are worth mentioning for apartment seekers:1.) the walls are THICK. I have lived at so many different apartment complexes as a light sleeper, I wake up to anything. Here, after a while I assumed I didn’t even have neighbors. I never heard anyone. Ever. And yes I did have neighbors above me and next to me. I lived on the first floor and never heard upstair neighbors. Anyway, that’s not something you can tell when you tour somewhere but I think it’s so important!2.) Area: besides being on 1604, the complex is surrounded by brand new residential neighborhoods and a private school. I’ve never been worried about theft, crime, creepy cars, etc. Also, Eisenhower park is right down the street for extensive trails!3.) Big bedrooms! I lived in the smallest one bedroom apartment available. I have a king size bed and still have at least 4 feet on each side to walk around/ add furniture. Definitely such a plus!A++ complex and can’t recommend it enough! If I wasn’t moving away from San Antonio, I’d say for as long as possible. This complex has set a standard I know will be hard to achieve at other complexes. Live here! You won’t regret it!

Me and my roommate moved in, in November of 2023 and have been here since and so far everything has been great especially for the price and the area of the complex.I’m originally from Corpus Christi and the prices and areas are not nearly as nice as they are here in San Antonio so to find a place like this has been awesome.My biggest respect goes to the maintenance staff as almost every issue I’ve had (which aren’t a lot or HUGE issues) have been taken care of within the same day despite how many people live here and might have issues. They’re also super respectful and even have a conversation here and there.The apartment staff also have been a huge help ESPECIALLY Ms.Rebecca, every time I go to her in person she always takes care of a matter I need right then and there, couldn’t help but appreciate that.Our apartment is awesome and the amenities like the pool and gym are equally as cool, love staying here, thank yall!

Really this is getting out of hand if the gates would be fixed things like this wouldn’t happen this is my second review on the hell hole of a place the gates never work and they have been open for months and months and nothing has been fixed some one broke into our car and the mailboxes because the gates weren’t fixed and had to get alarms for all door in our apt and don’t get me started on the freaking roaches … omg it’s ridiculous DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!… can’t wait till our lease is up .. if we had the money to break it we would !!!!

I love my apartment, I love that it’s close to our jobs and of course…..stores!The office staff is amazing. Alyssa is super sweet and was helpful with our move!A few things that stick out is of course, cars that have expired plates and look abandon. Also, dog feces in certain areas but of course that is the responsibility of a parent owner to pick up after their pet!Overall, I love my view and my apartment!

Great staff working here. I was a little worried about the distance i would have to travel to get to my office but the feeling of security here out weighed the extra 10 minutes of traffic. Out of all the places Ive looked this one was the cleanest! The gym and pool are well maintained.

Have been living here for almost a year. Things have been decent for the most part- no real issues until recently. Someone broke into my storage unit and stole some personal items. I went to management to talk to them and they just told me to call the cops and my insurance and did nothing to offer to help. Sure thats what renters insurance is for but I feel like they should have taken some responsibility since this did happen on their property and they dont even have cameras installed in the hallways. Their solution was to buy and install another camera outside of my storage unit. As they told me, this is not the first time someones storage unit has been broken in to and they didnt do anything about it. Very disappointed.

Can’t wait to move into our new place this month. Bekah has been an absolute JOY to work with. We are so lucky to have found the cutest place and on the first floor, which helps me greatly after two unexpected major surgeries. She knew immediately what I wanted (especially the built in book shelf) and accommodated me, and my dogs graciously. Bekah is kind, funny, and helped us with our decision immensely. My review prior to the new management would have definitely been one star. However, with the new and improved management, we are very happy to live here. Our maintenance requests are fulfilled right away, the ladies in the office are so helpful, and we enjoy the community here. The landscaping improvements and painting/pressure washing etc have been great, so I love that improvements are being made. My only request is that the gym gets a stair master, but hey, a girl can dream!Updating because I’ve recently moved out and it’s a complete and utter nightmare. We’re being charged $900+ for things that the previous tenants did, but even with my documentation, I’m told that my dispute is denied and I owe the amount. The property manager, by the way, doesn’t know left from right it seems. She did not even know that I had been living there for 3 years. It was a shock to her when I corrected her (she told our new rental reference that we had only lived there a year. Like WHAT?!)… she doesn’t really know much about what’s going on.Live somewhere else, yall.

It is my vacation spot! Lol. I love it here and everytime I come here I feel relaxed. The community and surroundings are serene and cozy...with lots of beautiful trees. I moved in here because of course looks won me over, let me start with the fact I have two service animals and I have them registered even have the letters from the veterans administration. I have spoken to people in their office over the phone before moving in about them being service animals even mentioned in my emails but because “I didn’t give them the paper work” on time I was charged a fee PER dog for having “unlisted animals” in my apartment. Legally this can’t be done I already spoke with a lawyer. I can’t remember her name but the one that charged me the pet fee only removed one after showing her the paper work on my service animals.(which by law you still have to remove them both) This isn’t a place you want to deal with if something comes up even if you’re coming in a good passive tone they really don’t try to help you.Second maintenance was horrible I work from home and my mothers always home whenever I had put in a work order it would always be put as resolved when no one ever came to the door and knocked. My service animals would’ve barked if that was the case but it wasn’t until I emailed everyone listed on the portal that someone actually showed up. This work order was put 3x in a period of 4 months it literally took the maintenance guy 10 minutes when he finally showed up.Third I paid a $788 deposit prior to moving that should cover fees after I left I knew there was some damage like paint and covering holes in the wall(nail size) but nothing to exceed the amount of the deposit, I got hit with an email saying I owe $747. When I called the office that collects the payments for an explanation and why my deposit didn’t cover that they said “it was already applied this is what’s left over, you’d have to email the message back to get an explanation” I’ve emailed asking for a full ledger of expenses with no response even called the apartment complex and the phone is always either wrong or the machine gives you the runaround. (I got receipts photos and phone logs) Cleaning up your apartment after leaving is a joke they’re still going to charge you cleaning fees. Some of the charges make no sense at all! Including sewage charges when their included in rent ?Fourth I loved the pool area until I came across these people that don’t even live in our apartment complex they’re always there trashing the place up making it so uncomfortable to be around. I didn’t pay for all these commodities just for people that don’t even live there to make it their own and bring people that don’t live there either. I had an experience with my 9 year old niece where one of them intentionally blew smoke in her direction. Then they try to befriend new tenants so they have a name to give so they don’t get kicked out.So this has got to be the worst renters experience and I’ve lived by myself for the last 10 years and not once ever had to make a review like this. Alyssa and the other lady in the front were always helpful or tried their best I can’t speak on the ladies in the back I always got a different attitude.

My husband and I lived here for two years and went through two different management companies. Over the course of our two years there, some things improved and somethings went south. One of the things that did get better was the trash situation, previously we had so many issues with the companies never coming to get trash and everyones would pile up for days, but after hiring a new company, it was consistent.Then, about 9 months to a year in, we started to experience a roach problem and this was with the new management company. I would have pest control come to spray several times for months, but it never helped. I ended up having to hire and pay for an outside company to come spray which did help for a few weeks, but the roaches would come back. I constantly would email the office and manager, and they just blamed it on living on the first floor and there was nothing they could do about it. I understand that it is hard not knowing how others keep their units, but it was an ongoing issue that we just had to deal with.The other issue was the gate constantly being broken. The office would send out emails about how it costs a lot to fix and how we need to use the gates properly, which I did agree with, it would honestly be better off just getting rid of them altogether. Sometimes when they would get fixed, our remotes wouldnt work with the new system and we would have to click it a bunch just for the gate to open or to follow someone in.Maintenance ended up also being one of the things that went down hill. After Frank left, we would put in requests and no one would come for weeks. Then randomly I would get a notification that it said resolved, but no one ever came to fix it.Parking was also a problem. You do not need to pay for a pass or anything which is a huge plus, but there are a lot of tenants that would store their cars in the parking lot. We had one car in the area that stayed with a flat tire in the same spot for close to a year. When the office made them fix it, all the tenant did was fix the tire and move it to another spot and it never moved after that either. There were also a few other cars that never moved and it would be inconveniencing those that actually do live in those units its parked at. Those of us who used their cars daily would constantly have to park far. I wish that the office would enforce the parking rules of the contracts better.We ended up moving out because we bought a house. The staff at the front desk were always changing and one of the ladies was very passive aggressive. She tried to tell me there was no need to do a clean because we will be charged over $300 for cleaning fees and I told her that there was no way this was ever disclosed and that was no where in our contract. The manager ended up apologizing that she was new and didnt know. Even if that is a new requirement they are implementing, before assuming, she should check and make sure its in a tenants contract. The same girl also was very rude when I went to turn in our keys and request a walkthrough. I walked in and she was helping someone else who seemed to be interested in leasing. She asked me what I needed and she said she doesnt do walkthroughs and that I need to turn in my keys right then and there or else I will be charged more daily on my lease. I told her that I actually had two more weeks on my contract, and I will be hanging on to them until the walkthrough. Then, she got back to the first girl she was helping and looked totally inconvenienced that I walked in. The manager was actually very friendly with my husband for the walkthrough and it turned out fine, but I think that something the staff could improve on if overall friendliness towards the tenants and not just future tenants.The complex did replaster the pool, painted the outside of the complex and when someone moves out, they do renovations on the inside. So they are making physical improvements to make it look more trendy. Overall, it wasnt a horrible experience, but also could have been better!

I moved to Hilltop at Shavano in 2/2023. I renewed my lease for another year. The ladies in the office are friendly, respectful, and always available. When I submit a service request, maintenance will complete the job within 24 hrs.At least 3-4 times a month you can expect to see a food truck on the property. Tacos/Mexico, BBQ, Italian, American, and dessert trucks to name a few.My son and I lived in San Antonio for 6 yrs and we finally found a place we can call HOME.

The locations is nice the only downside is the busy highway. I do think the inside of the apartments could use some upgraded touches here and there like paint and caulking. Exterior wise it’s up kept well! Staff is nice and help when they can. Esmeralda is the best!

Weve lived here a little over 3 years and have been very happy; were getting ready to renew our lease and transfer to a larger/updated unit. The views of the city are amazing but be aware that youll hear the highway during the night if you pick a unit with a view... its not crazy loud but enough that you might notice (obviously its not that bad if Ive stayed in the same unit for 3 yrs...my Mom noticed it on a visit.) We have never had a problem with maintenance or the office staff. I would recommend paying the additional fee for a parking space if you get home late from work (after 9-10 pm.) Our maintenance requests are always taken care of in a timely manner and hes always friendly and professional. The management has changed since we first moved in and theyre very nice, professional, and helpful. They have also started doing more community events and having food trucks come to the property for us. (Who doesnt like a good food truck?) The pool area has a shallow/toddler area which is a nice little bonus if you have younger kids. Overall weve had a really good experience here and I would definitely recommend this property!

Enjoyed living here for the first year, but if someone lives above you at this complex you will definitely here them. We could hear the music playing from speakers, dogs barking all day, children running, and arguments between family members. The walls are very thin, and there is really nothing that the representatives at the apartment will do to help you with a noise complaint. This apartment does not enforce parking rules either so any person can park under covered parking, there is no monitoring by the complex. The sales representatives and the manager that are currently there are not upfront about the processes that you need to take to vacate your current apartment. We were not told we needed to give a written notice, and were made to pay more money for the apartment even though we had previously had conversations with the manager about what we needed to do to cancel lease and she never mentioned a written notice to us . This is probably due to it being new management and a lack of training for their representatives.I would not recommend living in this place if you have residents above you. I do not recommend living at this place because of the lack of information that is provided to you by the representatives and management here. The manager Ms. Townsend literally said to our faces that she does not remember a lot of the conversations she has with residents, so if you want to feel like your concerns and requests fall on deaf ears they most certainly will at Hilltop at Shavano. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I love living here , the team is amazing . Esmi goes out of the way to help my family all the time . Clarissa is a wonderful property manager they treat you like family . I recommend this place . The hilltop and shavano apartments are OK, however they are under new ownership and I can definitely see how they are improving. They recently re finished the pool, they added a bunch of new lighting to improve the safety, and are improving the look of the complex by adding new plants and shrubs. Also, I’ve noticed as people move out they are adding new carpet to the rooms. The area is great, everything you need is within a 10 minute drive and it’s just a nice part of town, which is something I really like about the apartments. Unfortunately I was not able to complete my lease and have to move out early so I’m not able to see the additional improvements that will be made. Alma, the manager was very helpful in my move out process and provided me all the information I needed in a timely manner in order to move out. It is easy to see that customer service is very important to them which is why I’m rating hilltop at shavano a 5 star.

I absolutely adore living here! Beautiful gated community, clean pool, gym, lots. It is near everything, from target, to starbucks, la cantera & the rim! Great schools nearby and the staff that helps with all needs! Got approved within a day when i applied and moved in within 3 days of being approved; and that was only because it all fell on a weekend. I feel safe here no matter the hours of the night with my 2 littles. It is always quiet and peaceful. This place is a 10/10!

The front office woman Nikki was amazing in helping me with things like lending me the spare key because Id forget my keys at work, locating packages for me, and just being all around nice. AVOID!!! We have been here since 2020 and the old management were horrible-had so many bad and traumatic experiences here! The new management may be upgrading the apartments but increasing prices on your bill and enacting a STRICT trash policy with no formal emails of price increases-not okay. Its so unfortunate this place has potential to be great but unfortunately it is not. We will be leaving, as residents who have been here for 2 years, avoid it! Maintenance has always been efficient I will say that.[May 2022 update]: I changed my review as the updates around the apartment have been a real change. Has definitely improved and appreciating the lift the complex is getting. Hoping the improvements continue.

Weve lived here for two years and were about to sign on for a third. The complex has held up its value and them some. The floor plans are some of the most spacious around for the price and many of the apartments have been updated and renovated in the past year. Safe neighborhood, never any noise, break ins, thefts or any issues. They are pet friendly and one of the only places in SA who let us keep our German Shepherd (other apartments have considered them an agressive breed and restrict them) maintenance staff is prompt, helpful, and competent. Any maintenance requests weve made have been addressed in less than 24 hours. The grounds are kept up well. Pool is nice and also one of the only places that boasts a hot tub. The office staff is friendly, fair, and they are good to their residents. Nice to see a community that rewards their loyal residents. They just started having food trucks and farmers market trucks come by once a week which has been a really cool feature of the community here. They also dont nickle and dime you in fees, deposits, all the other initial stuff other apartments charge. We looked at other apartments recently to see what else was out there but we utlimately decided this place is by far one of the best places for the space and value in north SA. We never want to leave!

Giving a star because I had to to share our experience! We moved in to this horrible place, believing in the leasing agent and what we saw in the model. BIGGEST MISTAKE!!! Upon unlocking that door, Our apartment was roach infested, dingy, filthy, and poorly made ready! Office staff said roaches looked like wasps! 😨 I am enclosing pics! We spent move in day cleaning, sanitizing , pest controling, and making ready the apt! Something that should’ve been done before we moved IN! We spent over $200 trying to get rid of the roach problem and getting rid of the grease and smoke smell plus another $150 on cleaning/ make ready supplies. Breezeways were dark and disgusting too! Alma, the manager, is absolutely no help with ANY problem because she feels the paying residents’ are not going to interfere with her time; hence, her words “things will not be done on YOUR time!” But hers. WOW!!! She is the person every resident pays to take care of their living needs. All we expected in return was a livable home! We waited 3 weeks to give them the “time they needed” to do repairs. All 3 weeks consisted of maintenance randomly coming into our apt everyday unannounced, if you weren’t home they never left a note to let you let you know that there was a stranger in your apt and nothing was ever repaired! So expect the unexpected everyday! We never got to enjoy the days we paid to LIVE there! ZERO comfort! Roaches were in cabinets, on bedroom and bathroom ceilings/walls/behind frames/in pillow cases, all over bathroom, ON STOVE while cooking and IN FRIDGE!!! DISGUSTING!!! ROACHES WERE EVERYWHERE!!! A cup could not be left in sink without a family of roaches being on it after 5 minutes. The door frame was broken, like it was kicked down before we moved in. We discussed that with Alma but she didn’t care to help! She always stated they were waiting for a quote! Really?? That’s a security issue and should’ve been addressed before we moved in or immediately after learning of problem, not a few days before us moving out when your regional visits! While the residents are left to deal with the consequences and inconvenience of her mismanagement, Alma (the manager) is sitting in her office watching tv and stating to be “doing her best”! To anyone considering Shavano, I advise you to walk your actual unit before signing a lease and if they deny you that right, RUN!! Management, ESPECIALLY the manager Alma, is EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I warn you that unless you are ready to constantly be on the lookout for a roach being on your pillows, bed, couch, food, ceiling over your bed/toilet/shower…do not lease at Shavano! Leasing here caused us a great deal of inconvenience, money, anguish, and despair. To this day, the main occupant of this apt is left paranoid of what might be seen when you turn on the lights! As per privacy policy laws, I expect Shavano to keep EVERY aspect of our lease private in replying to my review! Needs to be said after our experience with that management! 🙄

I was a tenant from May 2016-March 31st 2017.....The manager that runs the place is very fake/rude and does not do anything nice once you sign the lease. Watch out for her she will mislead you very very easy. The assistant manager was VERY nice and helpful. She will be overtake the job Im sure.They never gave me my deposit back, $100 for my 2 remotes, get that in writing. Also I asked what do I owe one month and the gave me the wrong amount by $100. At the end of the month they had $250 in late fees tracked on because of the office girls mistake. Watch out for the apartments on the freeway are very very noisy at night with the traffic. If you are coming from I-10 it takes 5 miles to make the u-turn.Overall a decent place to live but after they got you in THEY WILL SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF YOU. Not a way to take care of tenants that pay their bills every single month! I would try the brand new place that just opened next door. Good luck people and God Bless…….

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Absolutely terrible experience with roaches. Pest control does nothing and management refuses to treat the entire building with pest control. Which would be the only way to solve the issue at this point. We’ve spent hundreds of dollars trying to get rid of them but they come in from the neighbors in the building through the hallways, pipes, and even electrical outlets.Also, Zero parking because management holds NOBODY accountable for any sort of excess vehicles.There was a van that sat in a spot full of trash for 6 months before they finally moved out.Pool is always destroyed by residents and the 10 pm closing time is never enforced so people will be in the pool all night.If you want to move here, be prepared to sleep with roaches in your bed because this complex won’t do anything to get rid of them.

My husband and I are relocating to San Antonio. We are black family from Illinois. I have never felt discriminated against until dealing with Hilltop at Shavano. First they denied us because they said that I had criminal damage to property which was completely untrue. On the summary report they also listed fraud. When I asked them what that meant, she said something about our social security numbers being issued after the year 2011. This is true for my husband since he is an immigrant from Nigeria and arrived here in year 2017. After we disputed all of this and the results came back and cleared my name, which had been slandered, we were told by Nikki that all we needed to do was send over our Social Security cards and ID’s. We sent over that information immediately and we didn’t hear from them for another week. When we finally decided to call she said that she couldn’t verify our rental history even though they have all of our previous addresses which we both received mail at and were owned by private owners. We had already decided weeks ago that we did not want to live here but, because they allowed us to pay a $300 application fee and then use background check.com to check our backgrounds, which is not a credible site, I figured that I would make them do the work even though I knew I would not live in such an environment with such unprofessional people. Of course they will not give me my money back even though they did not do the work that they were supposed to do. Nonetheless, we are very happy with the decision that we made. We have signed our new lease, it’s in a beautiful community with an amazing staff that approved us in less than a week. Funny thing is that there was no mention of criminal damage to property. If you’re looking for a friendly comfortable environment, and you are a black family, you may want to reconsider. I see a lot of reviews on here and none of them are from Black people. Just Saying!

The apartments are in good shape, and lease office were timely in responses. The low rating is due to after I had placed an application for an apartment (availability 2 months), I was asked to sign the lease within 72 hours for that 1st months rate even though I had never stepped into the actual unit. I informed the leasing officer that I was not comfortable signing a lease when I havent seen the unit (was shown a model), and I was forwarded to manager. The manager basically reiterated what the lease officer informed me that if I didnt sign the lease and payment, then it would go back in the market. I asked to be placed on a wait list but now out of $225 for the application fee. I may have decided to stay if it wasnt for the strong arm tactics, or even giving me the option to place a deposit but not full months rent up front when its still 2 months out without seeing the unit. Additionally in the lease contract there was a clause that indicated that outside noises/smells from neighbors are to be expected and I would need to agree to those terms. Which struck me as really odd.

If I can leave NO STARS I would.Roach infested complex. Management and corporate are not solving this issue on a bigger scale their only solution is to fumigate, but even after all the times my unit was fumigated the roaches would always re appear. We then were forced to move to another unit in a different building to still be dealing with the same problem even after we got rid of most of our furniture and appliances to not risk bringing any over. We went from building 10 to building 9, and the way management and corporate have been handling this issue is not acceptable at all. I have been complaining about this issue since December 2022 and yet here I am still living uncomfortably in a roach infested unit in a different building.

Absolutely terrifying experience with this place. I am originally from Ukraine and have just moved my mother here from home country trying to situate her during these hard times back home.My 10 year old son with ADHD likes to play outside and he spray painted certain areas of the complex. Of course I understand that was very bad and the next day our whole family was outside cleaning and washing everything off. He marked a few cars as well and that was easily washed off. We have noticed that apartment complex have painted some garage doors, which we were planning to do ourselves, but that definitely helped.I have never received an email regarding this after the fact. Thank God nobody pressed charges, maybe because we have talked to neighbors and my son apologized to most of them.I have travelled out of the country for family issues and before I came back they handed a 7 day EVICTION letter, which was before my return date. I have emailed and emailed and asked to give us some more time since my mother does not speak English and so on. They never did anything to help.I am a single mom, from Ukraine trying to survive, seeing my house being burned back home, apologized, asked what they wanted. Nothing helped. Those are terrible people with no heart. I WOULD NEVER recommend this place to anybody. I had nowhere to go, just sent most of my money to help my family in Ukraine, and this was very unexpected. They literally left us homeless. As I am writing this, I am shaking and in tears. I can not believe they could not have given us any other options.Oh and top of all they still want me to keep paying rent even though I do not live there anymore. HOW??Also I have waited almost a week to write this, so I cool off. I do not think that helped.

Unfortunately our AC unit went out and our apartment hit 91 degrees. it was the worse!!! I understand that things break, but what upset me was how un attentive the front desk is. I walked into the front office after my wife called me and said that they still hadnt fixed it. I spoke with the lady in the front desk and asked her if there was anything she can do today to accommodate us. She said worse case scenario they come and fix the AC tomorrow in the morning and my manager isnt here so I dont have the authority to call maintenance for an emergency fix. This really upset me. I literally stayed in the lobby for 1 hour taking a nap because of how hot my apartment was. after my nap I asked her again if she was able to do anything for us and she continued to state that the best she can do was already done. I left to my apartment and as soon as I entered I called and stated my situation again and I stressed how important it was to wake up in our apartment because tomorrow was going to be the first day of school (we both work in the school system). 20 min later someone showed up to our apartment with a portable AC. What upset was that she didnt do anything to fix it the first time. This review could have been avoided by simply getting someone to fix it instead of leaving us with the mysterious thought of weather or not our AC was going to be fixed. I hope this is a learning experience for the front desk to acknowledge the renter as best as possible and possibly putting themselves in the renters situation.

I just want to say the reviews on here are pretty ridiculous. I have been here almost a year and my neighbors are friendly. People who walk their dogs around here are always on a leash. Every time I have had a maintenance request they are very quick to come fix the issue. My kids play outside and they have never come to me with any complaints about any other residents being rude to them. My apartment is a very good size. Its very quiet. I dont hear any loud drunks at night nor do I ever hear people arguing or just being loud an obnoxious. During the summer the pool doesnt get loud or really crowded with loud children. The college students or adults in their early 20s that are at the pool are very friendly especially with my kids. They ask to play football with them in the pool or throw the ball around. And that is one of my biggest concerns, if the people are children friendly. I just resigned another 13 months with this property and I am very happy I did.

Ive been living there for 1 month, and I cant wait for the day my lease is up. These are the worst apartments I have ever lived in. For the price and the location you would expect excellent service, but since day 1 weve had issues with the restrooms, plugs, A/C, parking is horrible, and if you want to use the pool after hours or the gym you have to pay $50 extra, which they dont tell you when you are applying. They just find a way to screw you over in everything they can. Seriously, worst experience and I would never ever recomend this apartments to anyone!

I recommend this place. After signing the lease, I turned in the inspection checklist and within hours, Brenda at the front desk got to work. I was a little worried because I saw some reviews about the staff and I thought that it was a matter of time before they start treating me like a number instead of a valued tenant. Even after the lease was signed, Brenda continued to make me feel at home and not just another number that has signed a lease and this makes me feel really good.

Save your money and rent somewhere else. You can for sure find better for the price! During my time here I was robbed in day light and told it was my fault( called me dumb) Office staff also wanted to charge me to change my locks when I felt unsafe. It is not the first robbery taken place here, many other residents have mentioned the same and they won’t bother to install cameras or better security. We went a whole month with an a.c that didn’t cool below 80. Maintenance came 3 times and couldn’t fix the issue this resulted in having an extremely high electric bill. These apartments are also infested with ants that come out of nowhere.

Only gave 2 stars because its really pricey and its just standard living - nothing special. We lived there for about 3 years - cannot say we were dissatisfied with the apartment, but we were disappointed with the front office staff (rude). On the other hand, the maintenance crew was great especially Nick - he really runs the show around the apartment grounds. His work ethic is incredible, and he is super friendly. Our apartment (3 bedroom - 3rd floor) was good - no bugs or major problems. We initially had toilet problems when we first moved in but those were immediately replaced - with new ones. The stove and refrigerator were outdated and old - especially the stove it was just gross and rusted. We lived by the garbage dumpster and that was horrible with the loud noise every morning at 430am until it finally changed to a later time in the morning. The gym always had people that did not belong to the apartment complex and was constantly out of sanitizer for the equipment plus you need to purchase a clicker to get in after hours. We had our iPad stolen from the gym although there are cameras in the entry and the front office was no help at all nor did they demonstrate any empathy. They stated they did not recognize the people who entered or left at the time our iPad was stolen. Thank goodness for insurance. Talking about insurance - it seemed the front office staff always harassed us about this insurance although I was always current - just a tactic to get you to purchase their (Greystar) in house insurance. No thanks - I had USAA. The pool area was beautiful and kept up (Nick). Of course, there were always tenants or non-tenants who broke the rules - although enforced by the complex. Not a very kid friendly area as there were always drinkers and smokers. Daytime was the best time to go although hot, but there were less people which allowed you to relax in the cabana. The surrounding area is great with nice schools for the kids. Hiking-running trails near and close to Camp Bullis. Easy access to local places – not too much noise from tenants. Garages are nice but a bit pricey – storage rooms are good if you are able to get one close to your apartment. Suggest there should be combos offering both a garage and storage closet for a lower rate rather than charging separate rates for both. Parking is difficult – covered parking should also be included in a combo price rather than separate. Everything is ala carte there. Valet trash there is horrible as they drag your trash through the breezeway and the breezeways are always filthy. Cable is forced on you – Spectrum. The gate code box to get into the front gate will shock you when punching in the code. Mail is ok with the new Amazon boxes.One bad thing is that the apartment complex does not honor retirement orders when trying to break the lease to move out. Transition out of the military is a very difficult time and sometimes a future location can be undetermined. Renewing my lease was an option but due to them not honoring the retirement orders – I had to have another plan. I needed to stay a bit longer, but I wish I would have left and rented a hotel room for the amount I ended up paying. Bad planning on my part and gain on their part. They were nice enough to allow me to stay there past my lease for two more months at a slightly higher rate - which I totally regret. Military beware - know your options. Front office staff is 50/50 sometimes rude and sometimes fake nice. If you can get past their snobby attitudes and personalities – its not so bad to live there. A little pricey to live there but it’s the area of Shavano – lots of overhead noise with airplanes (red eye), traffic on 1604 and construction on the back end of the complex. Good schools – bus picks up and drops off kids in front of the complex. No areas for kids to play but it’s funny there is a dog park hardly anyone uses. Watch out for dog poop everywhere – irresponsible tenants.

I would NEVER live here again. They say one thing, and than tell you another the next day. I am SO glad to be OUT of this place. We were told by 3 different people that we could get out of our contract if needed if we paid 70% of next months rent....than we go to get out of our contract (we bought a house) and they said no we are stuck, we had to pay double rent for 2 months. Than I did the final walk through and the guy i did a walk through this informed me it was the cleanest apartment he has ever walked through and i would get full refund. I got my refund check in the mail and they docked me $100 for touch up paint and carpet cleaning. The apartment had BRAND new carpets when we moved in and we lived there for 3 months with no pets and when i asked if we needed to worry about carpets he said no. I asked about paint, and he said it all looked excellent. These people will STEAL YOUR MONEY and SCREW YOU OVER. DO NOT live here. The manager in a pain, and everything they tell you, they will turn against their word. Ridiculous. I wouldnt wish my worst enemy to live here.

At first it seemed great. The apartment looked beautiful. But when u pay attention to detail you can see that they just paint over paint causing it to peel. The trash never gets picked up like it suppose to be. I have been without ac for a few days now. The pool never gets cleaned and is way to small for the size of this community. You have to purchase a key for the gym which is ridiculous. The gates are always broken. When you punch in the gate code you will always get shocked. Management really doesnt seem to care about whats going on here. The only thing they are really good about notifying us about is the damn food trucks that are overpriced anyway. I really do hate this apartment complex and when my lease ends in February I will be moving. Please dont make the same mistake I did. The price u pay is not worth it. Take your money elsewhere. This is a half ass community. Not to mention we have had people robbed at gun point.

I currently live here at Hilltop at Shavano. The office staff is absolutely amazing. Bridgette, Jennifer, Nikki and Brittany, yall are all perfect. The maintenance is great, shout out to Frank for being awesome!How is it living here? Its awesome and its quiet. I never have any issues with neighbors or pretty much anything else.I truly love living here. The view from building 3 is phenomenal.I highly reccomend anyone to live here. Pretty expensive apartments for 15-20 year old appliances. Ashley from the office was so rude and unprofessional to my family I don’t understand how she has a job in leasing and customer service. Every time I went in the office and she was working she had an attitude problem. Now since lock downs and COVID restrictions the office NEVER answers the phone despite the fact that someone is still in there working. The back dog park has been there for almost four years and they’ve turned over the mulch ONCE and the lights have been broken for a year maybe even longer which means there is a constant skunk problem and you can’t even see them at night because it’s so dark. They maintain the front dog park by the office though of course.

Used to live at this place and moving was the best thing i could’ve done. Jennifer ford in the front who is management acted so nice when we first moved in and then she was the biggest b**** when we tried getting help with our gate openers and basically refused to help us. And it got to the point where i didn’t even want to go and ask for help with anything including maintenance because of how rude management is. Cars are constantly getting robbed. The gate code never changed and is the same for everyone so anyone can just drive in there. Trash is never getting picked up. They never notify residents about anything going on in the apartment complex besides when they’re having stupid food trucks coming. There was an incident where a resident was held to gunpoint at the complex and we had to find out through the news. This place sucked and even at my desperate times I wouldn’t move back here. I leased an apartment unit with hilltop at Shavano for 15 months, to be more specific it was the smallest unit they have available for rent (1 Bed 1 Bath.) the utility machines (fridge/dryer/washer/dish washer/AC everything Electric or connected to electricity) will be over charged. One of my summer months I got charged $308.95! Im not running a restaurant in my place.. this bill was absurd. I complained to the management people in the hilltop office to see if there was something wrong with my machines. to start with their dryer that runs for 3 hours when it states in the timer that itll do 1 hour & 10 mins but yet keeps running & running, not exaggeration. The office people & workers are very unprofessional starting with they try to go in your apartment even when you give them specific orders not to come in. I have my wife alone in the bathroom & she had multiple issues with them trying to come in when we tell them a specific time we are available to receive them for a service request.by my last 3 months of my lease with them we started to have leaking problems in the main bedroom from the ceiling. as you can figure they handled this very unprofessional with random contractors which were making a mess in my room poking holes in the ceiling to find where the leak was coming from... for the last 3 months my ceiling had some un appealing issues. i didnt want them to come in anymore & repaint when I was already tired of them & ready to move out.Im happy I moved out from that mess of apartments & payed my FINAL prorated due rent. ( Before I left I turned off the electric switches in the box that controls the electric flow to the appliances in the apartment. & of course left no water running with no trash to be picked up.) I specifically spoke to the front office assistant a believe named Brittney & a worker called Nick about the leaving process so I cannot worry about any random charges or unexpected issues... last week May 9th I received a letter from greystar which is I guess who manage hilltop at Shavano that I currently owe them $265.50 for (Pest control/ Water utilities / electricity which I pay with cps directly & a cleaning fee.) I hope if you get to this part of this review you have an understanding of how you will be treated if you move in to these apartments. they dont care about their residents & see you as a money bag & suck every penny out of you.... I clearly want to state that both employees named above told me that their wont be any further charges after my final prorated due rent....here are the charges they are currently trying to make me pay which dont even make sense. the last month of the lease I wasnt even in the apartment no more & they come up with these fees.(15 last days) Pest: $5.23 -- originally $2.50 a month(15 last days) Trash $52.27 --- originally $25 a month(15 last days) Water & sewer $72.50 ---- originally $26/$33 a month(15 last days) Electricity $60.50 --- originally I always over paying for this BUT like I mentioned I left 30 days prior for any further charges like this.oh & they are also charging me interest for this pending charge.... ($260.50)Dont go with them. they are sneaky & liars.

The only reason Im giving this place two stars is because I love the layout and price were paying per sqft is not bad... I would rate this place one star because of quality of staff members. They are rude, dont interact with you about important things through phone calls, and have staff lie about getting maintenance requests done when they didnt get the job done. I have put specific requests in the notes because I have two little kids and never have I felt that the front office staff looked at them. They are biggest reason not to live here.

She resides here, I do not.If I could give it zero stars I would.January 30, 2015- Apartment was broken into and everything valuable was stolen, i.e TVs, jewelry, shoes, DVDs. I asked to move to a new apartment. The management team first refused and then wanted to charge me over $500 to move. After weeks of back and forth, they finally agreed to let move to a different building.No rules are enforced, disgusting balconies, filthy hallways, mismatched paint around the property.Recently a new management team has taken over, first action they have taken is remodeling the apartments. Great! Except they hired the cheapest contractors they could find. They came onto my balcony without telling me and covered the ground in some disgusting sticky material. My BFs parks here truck near where the workers are and guess what! His tail lights were ripped off his truck. These workers leave trash everywhere, cat call and stare while you are walking to your car.Do yourself a favor and dont move here!I am going to fight tooth and nail, to get out of my contract.

These are some great apartments if you are looking for a place to live in San Antonio ( Shavano Park).I would like to recommend having your maintenance guys go to the trash compactor to turn it on at least three times a day keep the trash from building up by the residents.

I used to have a pretty negative review here but I stuck it out a bit longer. Ive been here about 5 years and can tell you that the place seems to have improved under the new management. Also they seem to be interested in engaging with the residents more through the events and community web portal. The downside is the neighbors. People leave their trash and cigarettes up and down the breezeways and some neighbors are really inconsiderate when it comes to keeping TVs and music at a reasonable volume, or keeping their pets on leashes outside.Also once you get an apartment they will NEVER EVER update it...Im pretty sure the other interiors here are completely different from mine.If you can stand those things, its an alright place to live.

I have lived here for a year and Im going to renew my lease for another year when i get off. I have really enjoyed living here from the time I moved in. Apartment was spotless and ready when I moved in. Anytime I have had an issue it has been resolved within 24hrs. On one occasion my AC went out and I noticed while I was home for lunch, by the time I got off work at 6pm my apartment was already cooled down. I originally moved here for the AWESOME view I have from my balcony of ALL of San Antonio including downtown, but am staying because of the reasonable rent and great location. As for the police, I am glad they are there. There have been a few vehicles that have been broken into and the apartment staff and police are taking action to deter more. The tenants are clean people with no rif raf. And the plane noise doesnt bother me because I can hear the highway due to the apartment I picked, and cant hear any neighbors bc I am on the 3rd floor.... if noise bothers you, you should pick your unit accordingly!

Reasons for the hated it rating:1) The flight patterns of all major airlines is directly above the apartments, which means airplanes 24/7 right above you, and the cargo planes at night are the worst. My wife and I were constantly stopping our conversations to wait for an airplane to pass.2) Walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything inside, and even outside your apartment.3) Overpriced for the size, location, and amenities, and we even had a discount.4) Apartment was not move in ready when we arrived; closet doors were not on, carpet was a mess from maintenance work, the cabinets were still dirty from previous tenant, and tape was still all over the apartment from when it was painted. I didnt complain about all this, I just installed the doors, removed the tape, cleaned the carpets, kitchen cupboards, scrubbed the mold from inside the bathroom drawers, and I had to air the place out because it smelt like paint and wet dog in the bedroom.5) Website was misleading and stated many benefits and features, but when you go to sign the lease agreement, they suddenly explain that the cable is mandatory ($45 per month), and you dont get a cable box or DVR... outrageously priced despite what the management says. I pay $70 per month now for internet and TV (premium package), and I have a DVR!6) If you get internet through Time Warner, you can ONLY get the extreme plus package, or whatever the highest speed is, which is about $80 per month when I was there. Time Warner has an agreement with the apartment to only allow tenants to have the premium package; you have no choice unless you go with UVerse or other internet provider.7) The garbage pickup service is mandatory ($25 per month). Personally I am capable of taking out my own trash for $25 a month.8) You only have one day to pay rent, and they only allow online payment (no recurring payment option), or a cashiers check (no personal check). If you dont pay on the first day of the month, you get a late fee (I never paid late, just FYI).9) The gates are very slow to open, and were broken half the time we lived there. The keypad didnt always work to get in, and it shocked me every time I, and others, touched it... someone put a funny sticky to warn others about the shock. Management tried a plastic pen hung on a chain, but it still shocked me. That is how they address issues: cheap as possible to try and make it work.10) There were always police in the complex, and on a few occasions, the police were called for parties at 2 or 3 in the morning of a regular work day (I never call the police, I think people can do whatever they want, I just write reviews about it when Im out :), and I came home from work one day to 3 police cars blocking off a section of the complex... so much for a gated neighborhood?11) Despite the pest control (mandatory fee of $2.50 a month) and our apartment being on the second floor, we still had bugs in the place! I am a clean freak so this was disturbing because I knew it wasnt from me.12) All the prices and fees were in addition to the base rent, so expect to pay about $200+ on top of your rent for additional fees and water (excluding internet). Of course you still pay for electricity through CPS.The Positive:1) The maintenance staff was responsive, but I guess this isnt really a positive, because they always left a mess! No cleanup whatsoever.I feel my experience is similar to others. I have a perfect rental history over the past 4 years at two apartment complexes, which means no late payments, full deposit refunds, and have never had an issue. This place is definitely the worst I have experienced, and its the most expensive place I have ever been in, which makes it that much worse.

I have lived at The Ranch at Shavano Park for several months now and it has been the worst experience ever. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The staff is very rude including Christy I have never delt with anyone like her. She has lied on several occasions and neither her or her staff want to take responsibiliy for anything that they do its always the residents fault. Had considered renewing our lease when up but with everything that has happened we will not. Its apartment living and people need to get used to hearing your neighbors if they dont like it then they should never move to a apartment in the first place. I have tried to call the Corp. Office several times and no one answers if you leave a message they will not return your phone call. They really need to fire eveyone of the employees and start from scratch. The parking is horrible you never can park close to your apartment building. They have plenty of covered parking but of course its a extra charge and there is plenty of parking there b/c no one wants to pay to park there. People park on the curbs and everywhere people even park in handicap but nothing is ever done about that or done anything to resolve the issues. When we moved in there were so many problems that we had to have maint come to our apt late that night b/c our apt flooded from the washer that wasnt hooked up right. Within the 1st wk maint was there several times fixing issues. If you want a light in your living room you have to call and ask for it b/c they dont put a light in there. There is one maint guy there and his name is Shane and is very nice and cares about what he does and wants to make sure things are correct. Also, when you move in they dont bother to let you know that when you get your first bill for the water, trash, etc is for 3 months and will be over $300.00. Please read all reviews and make your own opinion about this place.

We first signed the lease in June, we were getting a three bedroom, we didnt get to see the place before (we were told they were redoing some of the things in the apartment), so we move in, its nice except its dirty, on the balcony it looked like an animal had chewed up the trim, also cracks in the ceiling, a.c. only cooled half of the apartment, I work 12 hours a day, and the first thing I see when I get home the first night, is it is infested with cockroaches. And not just a few I mean INFESTED there was 16 on one wall needless to say I didnt sleep there, weve gone through 3 roach bombs 4 cans of raid and the maintenance spraying in there and theyre still there.i mean our washing machine wasnt even hooked up or set in place for that matter, there is missing floorboards in the corner of the kitchen, Im assuming where the roaches hide. And the pantry trim is barley holding on to the wall. This is how we moved into everything, this place is awful and management is no help

Rude management. Would not recommend anybody to rent here. Tiny apartments for the price. I definantly recommend finding a better deal elsewhere. Somewhere where the toilets flush, the fridge works and the floors dont fall apart. Disgusting! When I first signed my lease I was so happy to be moving to a nice area with a modernized apartment well I am dissapointed to say the least. My apartment was infested with centipedes or millipedes. I would wake up at night and find 10 crawling around evryday they would come out of nowhere. Then they have alot of gardens including one right in front of my unit and rats started coming out from them. When the sprinklers would come on the rats would run into my patio. Now last night I found a brown recluse on my stove on my coffee filters I have a pug who is there alone when I am at work most of the day. If these bugs were to bite her it would be a huge life threatening matter. I have stressed this to the apartment and asked that they tranfer me units and the only thing they have done is call pest control which doesnt help because these nasty critters KEEP COMING BACK! I have always payed my rent on time and never gave these people issues and they cant even take care of me especially for the amount of money we pay in rent. I have asked to speak to a manager and failed to recieve a call from management now you have to leave a voicemail and they say someone will call back which is a lie. They dont ven give you monthly statements anymore to see what your rent, water, cable charges are they just put the total amount you owe and you have to pay it I think this is wrong we deserve to know what we are paying for each month. I cant wait to get out of these apartments, the parking sucks as well I have to park far from my unit and its a pain when having to make 6 trips back and forth to my car and apt when unloading groceries. I have never broken a lease and dont intend to do now but I really want out I have never lived anywhere where there are pests and critters like this. I literally sweep, mop, and vaccuum everyday I cant even relax in my own apartments because you never know which bugs are gonna pop out its disgusting!Update: I was on a month to month my lease expired at the end of April 2015 and planned on staying till the end on June so I WAS paying $1015 a month for a 1 bedroom last Friday May 1, 2015 they broke into my apartment in BROAD DAY LIGHT. Mind you I love right in front of the pool, office, and gym. If you look out my bedroom and living room window you can see the pool, office, and gym. I got home from work about 6pm and my front door was unlocked my poor dog was shaking scared everything was thrown on the floor, they took all my TVs, DVD players, my ps4, jewelry and I am a single girl who lived alone this has been the worse traumatizing experience Ive ever had to deal with. I never thought it could be me especially being in front of the office they broke my bedroom window i cant imagine what would have happened if I was there when it happened. PEOPLE get renters insurance or dont even do it. No matter how nice it looks on the inside its a nightmare they say that have patrol that monitors but Ive been here a year and stopped seeing them come around. Looks can be deceiving. This is your warning its not safe dont move here. Im out of this place THANK THE LORD. PS the office wont even sympathize with you or care they were very RUDE.

My daughter and her boyfriend had a home invasion here! The three thugs broke down the door which was dead bolted, they held them up at gun point and stoled their money and computers. THEN, they called the cops and made a police report. The management at the apartment complex questioned their story and even implied they were lying about it! They gave them a hard time to break their lease in which they were there only a couple of weeks! NO CAMERAS THERE! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS POORLY MANAGED AND UNSYMPATHETIC COMPLEX! They could have gotten killed and they did not care at all! I called management to find out if they had an update in the robbery,left a message and never got a call back! Recognition is far overdue for Mr Orlando De Hoyos. This gentleman is mild mannered, respectful and consistently provides assistance. Most recently, my friend and I accidentally left my our keys on the treadmill early in the morning. I asked Mr De Hoyos if he would help us open the door to the gym. Without hesitation, he stopped working to assist. Every morning, we see him working to provide the tenants of Hilltop at Shavano clean and beautiful grounds. I am so disappointed with the managers, its the second time that several neighbors ask them to change gates and pool access passwords since it continuously enters people with dogs (pitbulls), random people and they ignore us.. (also the security) the doors remain open every afternoon and the staff just answer that is so the owners can enter quickly after work to be clear we do not understand then why we have a remote control that opens the doors vert fast by the way and it does not make sense to leave them open, recently there was a robbery at gun point and the administration did not care about that.... its clear they dont want to protect the people who live here, I have two little girls and I do not feel safe at ALL, please do not move here the staff is TERRIBLE they only concentrate on sales and never make solutions for the neighboard. IF HILLTOP DIDNT DO ANYTHING FOR A GUNPOINT ROBBER I GUESS THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR US.
