Whatever you do, dont rent from Silver Oaks! It would be cooler with less bugs if you lived under a bridge.The units are old, run down and dirty.The management is very slow to respond to repair requests. It literally took two years and multiple requests about a toilet that wouldnt flush, before they replaced it. The AC goes out constantly, spending days with no air at all in the Texas heat. Leaks from the apartment above, mold and more bugs than you can imagine. A two year old could do a better job painting than whoever did these rooms. Beware on Tuesdays because no matter where you park, the mowers will throw rocks at your cars, causing cracked windows and dents, which they will do nothing about.One of the units burned down and they are rebuilding now so at least you know there will be a few decent units for awhile. We were in two different buildings during the time here and it would be easier to gut them and start from scratch than to repair all the things wrong with them.
Where do I start with these apartments? I moved in March 2017 and I’ve lived here ever since it wasn’t always bad until maybe the last two years and honestly most recently it’s always one thing or another. Something is always breaking yet they never want to replace it for instance I cannot tell you how many times I came home, and the water or water heater were out. There is either no water or no hot water and by the time you call the answering service, and the maintenance people come out you honestly waste time majority of your evening.There have been times where it takes pretty much all night for them to fix the water issues so therefore some people must go to a relative’s house just to be able to take a shower or you must get a hotel if you don’t have relatives. Now let’s talk about the ACs, The ACs are constantly going out and they will give you every reason in the book as to why it’s out from it’s the rain the wind blew the wrong way. Lies and BS is all you get! Let’s get into the occasional roaches or scorpions that come out from time to time. Let’s not even talk about how on most nights you hear gunshots from people hunting the deer’s in the surrounding area.About two years ago I once again has an issue with the AC and submitted a maintenance request, however I had a phone call from the office letting me know they were not able to fix it due to losing the master key to my apartment. For safety reasons I requested them to change the locks, since they lost it, yet they still has the audacity to try and charge me for it.Let’s get to the office staff like I mentioned before. I’ve been here for years and I can honestly tell you I’ve been here longer than the majority of those people in the office and it just seems like they hire dumb and dumber starting with Terry, whoever knows nothing and hides behind Let me get the manager to Leticia who never can give you an answer and don’t even ask for a call back because it doesn’t happen until you go down there. Don’t even think about asking for the manger she is constantly “Busy” or “out” Only way you get results is by going to the office in person.Let’s talk about the most recent issue......I have decided to finally move out my move out date is mid-December, my lease ended October 31 therefore I will be paying an extra amount of 100 dollars for the month of November due to not having a lease. Well, I pay the amount that is due for October and what is listed on the email their system sends out. But I got a phone call saying I have a balance with late fees. When I went down there to clear this up, I let the manager know that when I spoke to Leticia, she did not make me aware of the fact that I had to pay the additional fee with my October rent I was under the impression I was going to pay that with my November balance. The manager went and informed me it’s my responsibility to read the contract, and her staff are not to be giving out reminders. The leadership in that office is beyond laughable and now I understand why there is absolutely no professionalism in the office, it starts at the top.Do yourself a favor and avoid these apartments at all cost!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lived here for 1 year and the apartment was not bad for the price but my truck’s rims were stolen and it was left on bricks. I was extremely paranoid that it would happen again that it was hard to sleep. The management team did not see this as a reason to release me from my lease agreement and made me finish the time on my contract. The AC’s brake down often during the summer because they’re old and they do come out to fix but not always in a timely manner since they’re always busy.
Literally one of the worst apartment complexes and management I have ever experienced. Laziest staff. Dirtiest complex. Maintenance has walked in on us without a knock and while my dad was showering alone at the apartment. Apartment smelt like mildew, carpets look old, Sheetrock hasn’t been changed since the building of these apartments, oldest refrigerator, disgusting old looking restrooms with the oldest flooring and cabinetry. Everything is super dated and disgusting. When you put a work order in they say okay and won’t get to it for weeks or even months. We even had a roach infestation at one point from some people who moved in upstairs and they never fumigated the place. We had to do it ourselves. This place honestly is the worst. Lots of crime as well! Peoples cars have been stolen and broken into several times. Gates never worked the years we had to live here. I can go on and on. DO NOT GOVE THIS PLACE ANOTHER DOLLAR! Move out and don’t move in, new people!
Okay so lived at silver oaks for 2 years and some months. I have some very little pros and a lot of cons so let’s get to it with the pros- the best part of living here is that for those 2+ years my rent stayed the same 899 and they have great staff and sometimes good maintenance if you get the right guy.Now the cons. Boy where do I start thin walls can hear everything yelling a such, dog poop everywhere and you’ll smell it once just pulling up to your parking spot I mean gross. Extremely old appliances and mold with mildew smell every time you walk inside your apartment you’ll smell wet wood. Lots of leaky pipes you can hear between the walls, warped counters and lots of water damage. Ac is always either broken or you’ll have to have it on the entire time which electricity bill gets high the roads are horrible, Now I did like it here only because it was so darn cheap and budget friendly. But be fair warned it comes to a price for living quality, also make sure if you get promised anything have it on paper nothing against the manager but it helps them to remember if something was promised. The pools were really disgusting but what to expect with a public pool. Oh and lovely mail boxes get broken into daily and packages delivered to you will be stolen so if you need something cheap this is a good place to start out but I wouldn’t recommend it. If I had to I would live back here if my budget took a hit. This place can be manageable if you just get used to it, oh and cockroaches it was bad at first but after cleaning spraying and doing the pest control treatment for the 2 years I would only notice like very few roaches every once awhile.
The staff here are awesome and attentive to my needs. They’ve seem to up the game by routine checks and fallow up calls of how maintenance did their part of the team effort running this complex. They come and do lawn maintenance weekly and garbage pick up often. They’ve all been really great since my move in. Thank you team silver oaks!
This was my 1st apartment experience. I was there little over a year . I was shown an apartment on ground floor . Because how I moved in on prorated amount and my pay dates I was 1 month ahead & I stayed that way . My move in day I was on the 3rd floor . First month there AC didn’t work & I was told by Kris it was the ants that caused this . The water bill always high with no meter amounts just a number that’s due . The furnace omg there’s no filter just disgusting & when it broke it cycles toxins back into my lungs . I always had someone entering in my place while I was gone . I reported this , but they are all friends . I had many things missing . From food to toilet paper. I travel with work & leave Sunday-Monday & return Friday. They knew my schedule. I gave my 60 day notice 12/27/23 . Move out will be 02/27/24 . The other complex verified with Terry I was current on all bills & prepaid . My other apartment move in date was 1-20-24 . I reached out to the office many times . I tried to return my keys in early & Terry told me if I do that she will report me for a broken lease . So I kept my keys since I technically had both apartments . I called Kris & told him I won’t be in town on the 27th to return my keys & he said that’s fine return them when you get in town . I got back into SA March 1st late afternoon & I returned my keys . I called their office about my deposit & if that would be returned or not Meghan the bookkeeper told me very rude and told me she mailed my final bill . She wouldn’t tell me anything just there’s damage.so of course I’m asking because I know how I left that place . She gave me hints & told me I should have had the carpets cleaned and I shouldn’t have been so dirty . 3-21-24 certified mail comes .. I of course call my chargers are for not returning keys back to her in the am 24.30 water bill 1-9 to 2-8 of 66.87 some fee of 3.33 water bill 2/8 to 3/1 . She did tell me if I want to see the picture she took & used on her own camera I was to pay her 5.00 in cash . 1st she said she would email me then she said I could view them only . What kind of criminal activity is this !
Ive been to this apartments and I tell u they are not worth what ur paying forThe apartment where my friend lives needs ALot of work the refrigerator makes to much noise the sink is clot up , I wouldnt recommend anyone to move here ohhh and theres mouses too sewer is always clogged the screens from the balcony needs a new one ...The apartments needs to be remodeled cuz its old the toilet smells it has to many stains...
UPDATE: 1 YEAR LATER. Everything still pretty much applies. Good, budget friendly apartment. Solid 4 stars. Much better than the 2.2. I recommend taking a tour.Im very surprised by the low reviews. Ive lived here about 4 months and have mostly positive things to say about Silver Oaks.The staff was very nice and helpful towards getting us in. Eric was in constant communication with us and very friendly.PROS:Silver Oaks is far enough off Culebra where theres no annoying road noise at night. It also starts 30-40 feet off of Ingram, which feels better than homes directly on the road.This complex is very GREEN color wise. Lots of strategically placed trees in the common areas with good shade. Good amount of grass. Very nice change of pace from the normal brown San Antonio.The layout of the 1 bed with den is great. The cabinets in the kitchen, and the layouts of the closets are MUCH better than my previous apartment. The half carpet in the living room makes it feel homey, without being full carpet.Parking is sufficient, never have to hunt for a spot.4 pools, tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court, laundry facilities. I dont use them much, but Im glad theyre here.My neighbors are kind, never hear any noisy or bad neighbors. Only thing heard is kids playing outside, which is nice.UPDATE: Maybe about once every other month, rowdy young folks will be extremely obnoxiously loud in the pool area. And like on a weekday night too at 11pm or later. Not a constant issue. They either stop eventually or get the cops called on them. They dont care if a person thats not a cop complains to them. This isnt frequent enough to warrant a lesser review.This place feels safe. I feel comfortable when my girlfriend is home alone.This place is very well priced! The appliances are older, but I dont care about that. They still work great. The insulation is fine. The heat works very well. I like this place much more than my old apartment, which was also pricier.I do not have any roach issues.NEUTRAL:A/C seems fine, but havent experienced middle of summer yet.UPDATE: My A/C has only gone out once in the year+ Ive lived here. Fixed next dayThe gates are left open often. Gates are kinda security theater anyways, so not a big deal for me.The gym is pretty much just cardio equipmentCONS:Pet fees. Like all apartments.If a tenant is a first time renter, they have to pay a deposit equal to the first months rent. This was annoying because Im not a first time renter, just my girlfriend. Sure well get the money back, but still not very cool. Seems counter intuitive to make a first-time renter, who probably has the least saved up, to pay the most to move in. That was my one big negative about this place. Im glad everything else has been great.New CON:Get ready to NOT use your patio in the heat of the summer. The management are super sticklers about what is and isnt allowed on your patio. For no good reason either.No type of screen/shading/fencing/privacy/roll-down shade on your patio whatsoever. No chicken wire. No lattice fence. No privacy screen. No roll-down shading. No mosquito netting. Nothing. You will be made to take it down.The employees (who are still nice) say its management/owner doesnt allow.Do they not understand that people want these things, so they can actually USE their patios? People want extra privacy/shade, but Silver Oaks says no. (Plants and small decorations still allowed)I try to fence in my patio with thin chicken wire to keep my cats in, but still give them outside time. Mostly see-through, barely viewable from 10 feet, installed apartment friendly, no damage... Doesnt matter they dont care, and dont offer any type of alternative.But if you dont really use (or customize) your patio, then nothing to really worry about.Overall, I still recommend checking out Silver Oaks
Been here a few months. Not bad overall. Too affordable to complain much. But the office is terrible. Hard time getting through whenever I call. Often have to walk into office to have issues addressed. The recycling bins havent been picked up ONCE in the months Ive lived here. Informed the office and management many times, they just have maintenance come dump the overflowing recycling bins into the trash. Had a massive leak issue that needed to be fixed and took long, leading to more water damage that damaged some furniture. I understand for the cost and space this is a good spot, just be prepared when dealing with the office/maintenance.
Jessica and Alex have done an amazing job cleaning up the property. Between the strict pest control schedule that helps bugs from showing up in my unit, down to always keeping us in the loop about what is happening on property and what the status is on certain repairs, I feel confident I made the right choice living here. I love all the fun resident events that the office comes up with and staff always is available to assist us when you need it. I have definitely noticed a huge improvement with this new management and happy to live here. Keep up the good work!
Everyone is so sweet and helpful! maintenance is always working. You put in a work order that morning and it’ll get fixed that day! I was given wrong info by an employee so I would always check with Chris first before anything. Chris was always so helpful and made sure you understood everything before moving on. Moving out was a breeze and dropping off my keys was simple. The apartment itself is a little old but for the price it’s definitely worth it. Never had problems with staff or neighbors everyone had been so kind! Loved living here would definitely recommend.
I have live at the Silver fir quite sometime. My Ac went out recently and I filled out a work order. It was very hot outside 3 digits heat. They came and fixed the problem and since it was going it was going to take another day, they brought me a window unit. I was very happy that they were courteous and patient with me and made sure I was ok. I want thank Chris (the manager), Julio, and Javier and all the other maintenance workers who always do a great job! Thanks to Chris (manager) for staying in touch. Great Job to all!Resident for over 15 yrs.
Very rude and unprofessional staff. Maintenance takes up to 4 times to get a problem fixed correctly. Very old apartments and appliances. Pool is always closed. Ants are everywhere and will also get in and damage your vehicle electrical system. Management does nothing to fix these problems
I’ve been here over a year and I have no major complaints really. Maintenance staff is quick to respond to work orders and usually gets them done within 24 hours. Office staff are friendly and quick to help. Chris the manager is super friendly. There is an issue with roaches, but this property is surrounded by trees so it’s natural that you’re gonna get some critters but that’s why you get pest service. The only thing I don’t like is the laundry rooms but everything else is good.
I am happy with these apartments! I have lived here a year and 4 months. The price is affordable and the maintenance is always quick and professional. The office staff is friendly and helpful and always tries to work with you. I dont know about tue rest of complex but my bldg and surroundings are quiet with no drama. Dont have a bad bug infestation either. The only reason i didnt give a 5 is because when I moved in I provided a note from my doctor stating the need for a handicap parking space and they never gave me one and the parking in occasion can be full and i have to walk A long way and my bldg has steps with no tail to hold or ramp. It may be the only reason I move.

Located near Ingram Park Mall and Ingram Transit Center - a Via bus hub for the area, offering great proximity to the city’s public transportation system.Moreover, in my experience, the maintenance team has been responsive, prompt, friendly, efficient and effective in handling small to even relatively big issues (e.g. repairs and replacements).Lastly, I have always found the leasing office staff to all be very helpful, friendly, and kind.
I lived at the Silver Oaks apartments between 2019-2022. In the 3 years I reported multiple issues with old outdated appliances and window blinds. The maintenance staff was ineffective and lazy leaving behind the repaired items for me to throw away. The neighbors let their dogs poop in the grass and not pick up and I had to use “outside” shoes to walk my dogs. The gates never stayed closed and I witnessed and reported what appeared to be two people breaking into AC units to steal the copper. My mailbox was also broken into. I reported it but never was fixed. I ended up having to rent a PO Box to have my mail delivered. Horrible experience. I would not recommend this apartment complex. It’s cheap and dangerous and the management staff is inept and rude.
Does NOT deserve the 1 star. I am a prior tenant and Terri in the leasing office gave me the run around. I received my “Statement of Security Deposit Accounts” after I moved out and the numbers don’t add up. I’ve called the leasing office three times to speak to Terri about my security deposit that we SHOULD be receiving back. I spoke to Amanda and she kindly took a message for Terri but Terri refuses to call me back. I’m not giving this apartment complex another dime until the numbers add up. And I have receipts. I would really like the property manager to handle this situation.
I have lived here for 7 months and I can say that the maintenance team is the best. They come within 24 hours and are very professional and always attentive. They take care of their people. Julio is always so knowledgeable and sharp. Every time we have a problem, he fixes it in minutes. He fixed a constant AC issue I was having for weeks (multiple work orders) and Julio found the source of the problem. I haven’t had any problems since September. He is the best! I recommend these apartments. My doorknob was not working and they came in an hour because I put it on a priority list. Thank you for the service! From a Happy Resident
The 2.5 stars shouldnt suprise anybody especially after all of the complaints about issues with air Conditioning not working in the heat of summer. But here is another reason to avoid working with them. My husband was in the process of setting up a lease with them when he became so ill that he required hospitalization in a specialty icu (not for covid) for almost 6 weeks. I contacted the property to speak with them about a possible refund of his deposit due to this unique circumstance. The property manager had me provide him with paperwork from the hospital verifying the severity of his condition and that there was no know discharge date due to the severity.The property manager advised me that he would forward it to their corporate office to see what they could do. I recieved no communication for nearly 2 months. When I reached out to them for an update I was told that the rules were what they are and no refund could be considered regardless of the circumstances.Obviously Silver Oaks apartments is just another greedy apartment complex.
Leticia S. did an amazing job with helping me out she was patient with me and had an amazing attitude through the whole process of moving me in. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help or just has any questions. She is the best there and super nice!
These people at this apartment complex are ridiculous. I submitted tax documents and bank account statements showing over $200,000 in income per year and they said they needed tax filings for 2023, which are impossible since you dont file those until 2024. They dont sound like they know what they are doing and clearly are making it impossible for self-employed individuals to apply for their complex, especially since I clearly had enough funds to cover the rent for the next 5-10 years even. Its such a ridiculous situation and I wouldnt recommend anyone even applying to this complex. I drove in personally to speak to someone, they had me wait, and the manager still wasnt available. Just ridiculous.
This 5 star review is specifically for the maintenance team. They are always quick to address problems, friendly, and definitely know what theyre doing. Julio replaced my old kitchen faucet in less than 20 minutes and was super nice! Its hard to find apartments with professional maintenance teams but this place has got it. Would also like to shout out Xavier who was super professional and fixed my electrical outlets!
My ac unit was not turning off but still heating the apartment to 85°, very uncomfortable. Julio answered the call and after he talked with me about what was going on, he explained what was wrong, and a few parts later problem solved. I really appreciate him hearing me out and taking the time to understand my predicament. Best expirence in maintenance care I have ever had I cant explain how positive the interaction was. Thank you Julio I really appreciate all you did!
Im not the person to write reviews, but this apartments is not it! I’ve lived here close to a year now.. My apartment is falling apart my AC has been broken for weeks now and not one single person has came to see it.. also my car got broken into couple weeks ago I called to speak to assist manager and a employee answered and refused to pass me to Chris. Overall, if you need a sign not to lease here… this is it lol. I’m to a point where I might just break my lease …
I applied on March 13 2022 with an expected move in For April 1. Came to tour the unit on March 26, 1 week prior. I asked if anything else was needed from my roommate and I to complete the application process and only needed my work information submitted which I did on that same day. She assured us everything else was good and even requested the deposit which we paid. Friday comes and Savannah is calling me requesting my ssn to run my credit.. Friday April 1st. Prior rental verification had also not been completed due to incorrect form being sent. I asked at what time we would have an answer and she said EOB. We don’t hear anything by 4PM so we call and are informed that Savannah had left for the day.. we had all our belongings in a uhaul and had rented movers thinking we were going to move in.. Saturday comes and by noon still haven’t heard anything.. we go back and request our refund which she said she would have taken care of by Monday April 4 when HR is there. I called today and my deposit barely got processed yesterday and am not expected to receive it for another 30 days. I wish we would’ve had received an answer a few days prior in order to accommodate and make proper arrangements instead of doing everything last minute. I’m writing this review to make others aware of the potential lack of communication you may receive.
I understand everyone wants to save money but these people suck. AC went out 5 times. Went without AC for a month before they replaced the unit. They started doing construction without notifying anyone. Woke up to loud banging. Last time I woke up to a loud knock at the door to tell me to move my SUV so they could start roof repair. If you work nights this place sucks. Work orders take months before they repair. Office people are rude. The maintenance people are actually nice.They shut the water off to the apartment complex without giving notice a few times. Sucks when you need to get ready for work. I truly believe this place could be better if they had new management or owners.
I lived in this apartment for almost a year now. Im counting the days until I move out. Since moving here its been one thing after another. My car got stolen on Monday from this apartment. I call management if the know anything and I was told to leave my information and management will call me back. Thats been 4 days ago. The staff in the office are rude and they dont give a crap about you once you sign that lease. Ive had a problem with roaches since moving in and management is no help when it comes to what you need. I have paid my rent faithfully with no late payment but you cant get them to help you with anything. Worst apartment Ive ever stayed at. Cant get a hold of manger or assistant manager. They give you the runaround for everything.
When I was first looking for an apartment and at reviews I was skeptical because sometimes people write reviews out of anger when they do something or have something handled in a way they dont like. However after having lived here since March, I wish I never moved in. The first red flag should have been that we didnt get to see the apartment we were moving into until the day we moved in. So we basically moved in blind we were told the building number two days before when we dropped off paper work. When we got the keys and did the walk in inspection after we where told that the apartment had to be cleaned and painted the carpet looked semi vacuumed, but near the windows were spider webs leaves and even dead bugs. There were painted over cracks and areas that you could see were replastured over and over again with layers of paint. The kitchen cabinets were painted inside and the paint its self was either so fresh still/cheap that the rubber linners I put down are stick to it. The screen door on the patio was stiff and when we tried to close it came off the track and we saw the wheel was broken. One of the vents in the kitchen has some kind of debris stuck up in it like grass or feathers. We reported these things only for us to be told we have to submit a maintenance request to have them fixed. We were told we could clean the ceiling vent ourselves; even as the bolts are painted over on the grate I asked An the maintenance person told me yes. For a 1bed/1bath: Our toilet broke down twice, our AC has been broke 3 times, I never had to deal with bugs (Beatles, roaches, silverfish, spiders) finding their way in until here; between the first day we moved beds being around the middle of march this year in until this very moment. The water pressure had been going in and out most recently but they finally fixed that. The parking can be horrible the front of the complex is made to look pretty well drive through youll see theres no painted lines theyve all faded away. They claim to have multiple maintenance crews but it honestly feels like it the same 4-6 guys working the whole property; they do work hard but to get anything done can take well from 2-7 business days. If youre lucky. Its not based on when you submit your request or what your request is, its determined by the property Manager who tells them what to do first everything else falls to the side. An just maybe if you have a medicine condition or concern they might take care of you a little more quickly depending on what it is you need and how they relate. The people sitting at the desks in the office are Leasing Agents they cant do anything for anyone and thats exactly what Ive been told by them. They are there to set up leases or if you have a package to pick up or need to pay rent thats about it. They dont live on property they just talk about it. The maintenance staff well at best I dont believe they live on property either because when we have had one show up for an emergency call it took him 3hrs to show up and he was in off hour cloths. The after hours voice service is a 50/50 shot of being helpful at best they just take a message that might or might not make it to the manager you never know. To be honest the whole time Ive lived here I dont think Ive ever seen or spoke to the manager directly. By far of all the places Ive ever lived in my life, this is one of the worst. You are better off paying Motel 6 for a room then living here.
Apartments are nice and location is very convenient. Can’t say much about living in them since I never got to move in. I just want to share this experience I had because if your like me and need a home asap I wouldn’t want you to go through what I went through. After weeks of waiting and getting all the information I needed I get told a day before my move in date my application was decline. I was told before it was accepted since I was given a move in date and had paid my deposit. They tell me it has something to do with me been late on my rent on my previous apartment , then they say I’m was late 6 times and that I have a broken lease. All this information not only is incorrect , I believe it should had been addressed before 1, letting me pay a deposit and 2, giving me a move in date. I do want to sa that everyone I met at the office seem very friendly but not very helpful.
I advise people to look elsewhere. It took them about a little over a week to fix our A/C and it was around 95-100 degrees F. The inside of our apartment was around 90 degrees f. My baby was crying and sweating all week long. Every day I would go and complain and they just kept saying, We are doing everything we can, everyone has their problems, youre not the only one. What kind of answer is that???We moved out and got a bill because they needed to change the locks and do some carpet cleaning, but cant send me the bill. Every time I call they just say, Yes we will mail the statement out to you. Its been 2 months and I have yet to see what they are charging us on. I dont recommend these apartments to anyone. Its too expensive for a small apartment. You could rent a house for a lot cheaper and have a front and backyard. Dont move in here!
Roach Motel.Beware of your new roommates, the roaches.Ridiculous that we counted not 1, not 2, but 14!!! Yes, FOURTEEN roaches in 3 days crawling about in the open from the day of moving in.Not only that, but the first day of moving in and the toilet didnt even work! Good thing nobody had to drop any Lincoln Logs! Only good thing was that the maintenence guy came right away. But otherwise, what a horrendous start to a lease not even a week in! Good luck to anyone renting here!
I can only speak from my experience here .Just moved in about 3 weeks ago. I really like it here, its a step up from my last apartment I had. I like the community here, and the people here seem very friendly. The people in the office are very helpful. Had a issue and put in a work order and they got it fixed right away. Justin is the one who help me. And is a good guy. And Jesse is just the most cutest nicest person Ive ever met. She kept me up to date and well informed on everything I needed to know about the move in process. And always very professional about answering any questions I have. And thats it. So far thats my experience here.
DISRESPECTFUL. So first of all me and my husband got stationed here in Texas. We’re from Ohio so we needed to get the apartment set up ahead of time, this place looked pretty okay. Plus the price was good. They toke over a week and kept saying we had multiple problems with our application. So we tried our hardest to fix whatever they had a problem with. Now mind you the girl on the phone kept telling us we were going to get approved with no problem. Then my husband went in person to talk to them and sign the lease. (He toke a flight before me) well in the middle of me driving down to Texas, he gets a call that we aren’t accepted!!! Why you ask. Because they think he’s not actually in the military!! I asked “didn’t he go in person with his supervisor??” She replied “ well I can have my brother come in and say he’s my supervisor” like seriously???? They have IDs FOR A REASON. This place is an actual joke. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, plus gave me huge problems about me not working saying we didn’t make enough money. When where we rent now is 995 and they accepted us without a problem. There’s waaaaaay better places out there. This one farthest from it.
I am a current resident of Silver Oaks and if it is the cheapest for a quick move in then your pretty much stuck out. First off the bugs are bad. I walk around with a can of Raid all the time and they are still bad. My latest fiascos is we had our dryer socket go out. The guy came to fix it and was angry as heck. He ripped the string out of the light in the wash room, manhandled our dryer to get behind it then said it was fixed. My dryer would not work after he fixed it so I had to go buy a new one. Guess what, the socket does not work and I spent over $500 for a new dryer I pobably did not need to.Welcome to Silver Oaks people.Being fair mainenace is isually some pretty good guys and friendly. They attempt to keep up.Heres an update for you, I get home and yhe wiring to the boc is bad. Now I am not an electrician but I do believe that could be called a fire hazard. So now I am out over $500 and my apartment could burn up. This is my insurance if anything happens, that everyone knew ahead of time.If people read their lease the one thing it states is AC is not covered. I thought was obscene but it is in there.
This review is only for the maintenance NOT the complex itself. Julio and Xavier are awesome! They came quick and fixed my issues and put in a work order to have my garage disposal replaced. We kept having issue after issue w our AC and finally it was replaced and Julio fixed all the issues we had w the AC and was knowledgeable and very nice and continues to check on us from time to time to make sure we are not having anymore issues.
We applied and got approved for this apartment complex, move in date was supposed to be 2/26/21. However they called us THREE days before move in that the snow storm affected their apartments and that they were pushing out our move in date to 3/12/21. That date just so happened to be the day before our baby shower so I was asking if I was able to get my keys before their “after 4pm policy” since we’ll be so busy and not only that but we had already paid for movers to get our furniture that needed to be out. They didn’t seem to care whatsoever or offer any options for us, nor would they tell us what exactly the storm had done to the complex. I filed a request to speak with the manager and he called and when I asked what the storm affected he kept beading around the bush with repeatedly saying “Texas was not prepared.” We are aware, but we have a newborn coming within 8 weeks and we need to know if there was water damage and if everything has been fixed properly to make us feel more at ease about having a newborn living at their complex. The manager proceeds to tell me the move in date could be pushed back further than the 12th, so everything seemed so unorganized and uncertain. At that point I was upset but we need to move so there wasn’t much we could do but wait till the 12th. Two days ago, I woke up with an ugly feeling about moving into the apartment and as if they were hiding something. We called and Savannah had told us that nothing was wrong with our apartment, so we believed her. But then I asked if they had a for sure move in date so we could get movers situated, yet again. She put the manager on the phone and he was rude from the start. I believe his name was Justin, or something similar. I told him how we’re about to have a newborn and wanted to know how the apartment was affected and if they fixed everything, even though Savannah had told us it wasn’t affected, I wanted to hear it from a manager. His response was “I cannot release any information.” That was it. No reassurance. No peace of mind given to us. Nothing. I asked what he COULD tell us, hoping he’d tell us everything would be fine come move in, but he again said he couldn’t release any information. We asked to speak with someone higher up and he said there’s nobody higher up. So he’s the “highest up” but doesn’t know how to talk to people who will be living at his complex and let them know that everything will be fine? My boyfriend then got upset with the way the manager was speaking to me and brought up our newborn once again, the managers response was “I know about the newborn already. Do you want to move or not?” We then brought up how there’s more reviews and pictures of bug issues and AC issues, and he said “are we here to talk about your application or our reviews?” Then once again asked if we wanted to move or not. We are getting our money back and I do not recommend this place to anybody, as they don’t seem to care about the residents moving into the complex.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would . First the new office manager is rude and condescending. There is never any acknowledgment given regards our issues and concerns . Last year we had so many issues regarding our AC unit going out and continuously breaking down for various reasons. So this year I went in before any issues and ask to be give a window unit since I don’t want to have any issue this summer the office manager treated me like I was over reacting and said well we have to show that your ac can’t be fixed and I don’t see any recent work orders 🤔. I wonder why maybe because winter just ended! I said fine. Two weeks later what happened my AC goes out the lines are frozen. So I submit a work order . And NO one comes out. The excuse I was given was because it’s raining and no one can work on the outside units because of safety. I understand that it is a hazard , however no one has to go outside to work on a frozen line !!! All that needs to be done is to clean to coils which is inside the apartment! I had to call the after hours maintenance line to get someone to work on it after 2 days without an AC unite where it is 85-88 degrees in my apartment!! 2 days later it goes out again . I’m left a note to call the office to get info. I speak with Jesse who gives no acknowledgement as to how I as a CUSTOMER who pays you money is having so many issues . Then she passes the phone to Justin who asks how he can help me?? First I wasn’t told I was being transferred I just got passed off to another person. Second If your in charge of work orders you should know how to help me already why are you asking??? There is no acknowledgement no sense of ownership and ultimately I’m made to feel like I’m bothering him with my concerns !! This place has the rudest people working in that office!!! Martha is the only shining light their who knows how to speak too customers!j
This was a 2 just on the pretense of the old buildings but its a 1 for office staff.I just got into a screaming match with the manager himself. Communication did not work and that was unprofessional of how the treatment was. I only wanted clarification, negotiate and talk about options, if there were any. I didnt appreciate the treatment and when I was trying to finish a sentence to finish the question, I was cut off. Its a shame because I was really wanted to build a home here.Advice for future renters: Even if it verbal GET IT IN WRITING!!!!!!!You cant prove it since it was verbal------------------------------------The first thing to point out is their maintenance staff. The maintence staff is really on top of there game when it comes to needing things fixed. I do understand this is an older establishment and I also will say the price matches the Sq ft you pay for. I have lived here for a year and wanted to renew and upgrade but that decision changed. While Ive been here, I have dealt with: infestation problems(Sugar ants, spiders, cockroaches, Bog Flies,) broken dishwasher multiple times, pipe leaks, A/C issues, water turned off without notice and constant turn offs with notice. I will say they responded to the issues but not all of them were fixed. They do there best.This is an old establishment and some of these happened but it was to much for just living here for one year. I was expecting at least 2 year tops. The walls are thin, you can here everything. In the section I lived in, constant music, constant people fighting, random people walking in and out of the community, and the mail boxes look like theyve been beaten open.Its only been a couple of months the gate has been fixed.When I first got here, I loved the staff and the management team. Martha was the lady who got me into this place and man I wanted to stay here so bad, but I cant do business with the staff that is currently working.I will admit I had bank and card issues that caused issues on my account and I was late a time or two, that is bad business on my end. What I wasnt okay with is the rudeness and lack of communication from the office. It felt as if, when I mention I lived there, the attitude switched. There really just was a negative tone and attitude.If you didnt pester them, they would just ignore what you were trying to communicate. It makes it really difficult to work with a place that makes you feel like you have to pester them.What they also dont tell you is, there is a convenience fee of 18$ to use a credit card to pay for rent. If you have mishaps on your banking, the option is denied for a whole year( even if you dont renew) and you have to use card, money order or moneygram. I dont have any issue with the choices, but knowing ahead of time what options you have and what you can and cant do always helps. Most apt complexs dont have an 18$ charge everytime you want to use a card on an account. Especially, (someone like myself) who like to do weekly payments since I get paid weekly.Even now I am having issues with me not renewing my lease. You recieve an email and are asked to reach out and respond via phone, email, or office that you have to have in writing.I was told by the office and on the phone that I could email and give a notice of a non-renewel. I emailed on March 15th. It is 3 days until my lease is up. Ive been applying to another place and get notified by them, my current apartment says Im renewing and I could get denied.Im a resident. I understand the world is in a crisis and I understand the protection and protocol and things are caotic, but business is business.It puts me in Jeopardy of not having a place to live when, I wasnt notified or reached out to. Especially with the conditions of the country.I love this establishment. I love the area and I really liked the price. I really wanted to upgrade up and make a life here with my partner. But the business is bad. There needs to be better communication and a genuine care for people who want to liveHope this helps!
I lived her between 2019-2020 and the apartment itself wasn’t too bad. I think my rent was 618 for a near 500 sqft apartment (don’t quote me on that I really don’t remember the size) Sorry this is gonna be a little long. Pros and cons are all sort of mixed in here.-The sliding door would get kind stuck sometimes.-The doors to the bedroom and bathroom would stick and make a lot of noise due to the multiple layers of paint. (Pretty average thing for an apartment these days)-The area was great for me because I worked at the mall, so when I didn’t have a car, taking the bus or riding my bike was easy.I had restarted school and got my car back, I had rushed home to pick up a package and the office lady was going to make me try and come back another day to pick it up because she had just locked the door as I walked up. I let her know I work and got to school full time so my only days off are sundays and the office isn’t even open on weekends. She sighed kinda loud and did decide to give me my package after all which was awesome. I just didn’t appreciate the sigh which wasn’t too bad.I was in building 16, the people downstairs from me fought often during quarantine but they did move out. I’m pretty sure the kid downstairs from the neighboring apartment was a drug dealer cause it always smelled like weed and random college students would stop by in the middle of the night for 10 minutes then leave or pick up the guy, drive around then drop him back off.-My AC worked great honestly. I’d set it at 75 it would get kinda warm, but if I set it at 73 the apartment would cool to around 65 somehow, I didn’t mind though. My energy bill wasn’t high so it was fine. I did feel super bad for everyone else in other buildings that did not get cooling. I did have older appliances and an older thermostat, I don’t know if maybe that had something to do with it?Parking was amazing. I’d come home and always find a good parking spot.I did have a few issues with bugs but nothing a bit of maintenance or a good smoke bomb probably couldn’t take care of.The fitness room was almost never open when I went and that bummed me out because I was excited to live in a complex where I didn’t have to pay for a gym. The doors were always locked and I was never really told if I had to go to office and pick up keys or if I was supposed to get keys to go in there. I would email, leave voicemails and no one ever got back to me.On a side note, cops would cruise around in the area pretty often, not sure if it was just cause or if they were called to look around. I’ve had to call them maybe twice because some random person was walking around screaming and talking to themselves and knocking on peoples doors with a large bag on them. So naturally I was scared because my door got knocked on.-the second time I had to call was because a couple was screaming and fighting outside late at night.Maintenance was really quick and always left notes about what they did and how they fixed it. (My dishwasher, however kept flooding so I just gave up on asking for that to be fixed since I never really used it, everything else was great)They were also super nice.If water was going to be shut off, we ALWAYS got a notification about it and it would be on sooner than they scheduled which I appreciated.I loved the app they had on the phone because it made it super easy to pay for stuff and send requests.For the most part I was okay there but I transferred jobs and it was inconvenient to drive as far as I was driving and we outgrew our space.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Slum lord apartment managers. My A/C has been broken all summer, they know there’s a malfunction but they only continue to replace the Freon, and told me so when I went to speak to them. They’re completely ok with their residents living in 90 degree apartments. When I first moved in they told me they cleaned the place, but I found stuff that belonged to the former residents and the place was infested with roaches, when I went to speak to them they told me I should be used to it. Their pools are constantly dirty, not even deep enough to swim in, and the parking is atrocious. Most times I have to walk across the complex after finding a spot. The gates are never locked because they’re always breaking down so anyone can get in.
I moved here on 03/11/22 . One thing I do have to say is that office staff has been very kind especially Terry, Chris (manager) and Steven from (maintenence). But actually they all been very kind except the Man from pest control. Never gonna get rid of roaches when he barely sprays. Needs to spray everything and outside too around building. There are German roaches. Very Gros!!!! I know the office is trying, but its the pest control service. For Him to tell Me if I still have roaches its not His fault that its maintenence fault I just dont understand that. Anyway I have had to find another way to help get rid of them,by doing My own spraying to My expense. But I cannot live with ROACHES!!!! I still think there pest control needs to be told something. I see alot of reviews in regards to this . If it wasnt for this situation I would be happy, because maintenence does come right away to do there repairs they respond well, and they along with office staff like I said are very friendly. Just one more thing the apartments from outside like the stair railings are extremely dirty. I try cleaning them, but its hard, so I stopped. My kitchen cabinets are poorly painted very dull. The color makes that look older, I guess they didnt put any varnish or something. My stove is old You can tell when You open it. Sometimes smells bad when baking they do come and check it and I have to give them credit they try to fix it but its and old stove. I dont like baking in it. Sorry I am just trying to be honest.
Rent is affordable, but you get what you pay for. Recently Ive had a problem with roaches. Pest control only comes Tuesdays and for 3 weeks straight every Tuesday Id call to confirm pest control came. It turned out my apartment got missed 3x in a row even though I was told each time they did come out to my unit. The next 2x I put in a request pest control came out, but the roaches still have not gone away. This morning I put in the request at 10:30am and called to make sure I get put on the list, I was told they already left and I have to wait till next week. The assistant manager Chris has been out a couple of days, I was told only he has the number to NuWave Pest Control and only he can authorize for them to come back out. What happened to customer service and going the extra mile... extremely disappointing.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. The bad reviews are not an exaggeration. The apartment was never cleaned or painted before we moved in, so red flags from the start. Eventually our neighbors had a serious black mold issue and the roaches are so bad it gave me panic attacks. We never had hot water! In almost a year. The AC worked for maybe 3 months. Then when you move out theyll harass you and make up things to charge you for. $2000 for not turning in a key after an out of state move? Get real. There were two shootings and a stabbing within a month and the apartment complex felt compelled to send out a letter... saying they arent responsible for our safety. Classy. The people who work in the office are sadistic. I genuinely believe they feel great pleasure from scamming people. Please, keep looking for a place this isnt where you want to live.
Andrea and Jesse are so fair and just in their decisions and are very professional and organized...their tenants are priority. They use both business ethics and empathy to determine how to meet their tenants needs...thank you two for your patience understanding and assistance in my families livelihood. We love it out here and are extremely blessed and happy to be part of this gated community. All our neighbors and other residents here know each other well and look over our little ones with watchful eyes. You really are awesome and super friendly great attitudes and wonderful personalities...keep up the great work Andrea Garcia and Jess....😉
Best move in process I have ever had! All of the office staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, they answered all my questions with ease. The manager Chris showed me the apt himself and where important things like mailbox and gym were. The apt was super clean and I hardly had to document much on the walk through. I did notice a few dead roaches, which kinda scared me, but im sure with up keep this wont be a problem as I havent seen live ones. Spent my first night lastnight and was pleasd to say that for as big as this complex is there wasnt much noise on a Saturday night, which is such a relief when you work super early. And the neighbor introduced himself which is so nice to have a friendly neighbor in this cruel world. Overall I am very pleased with my move so far. Updates soon...
Poorly managed. Property is not maintained. Maintenance is not done on a timely manner taking up to 30 days later. Rental agreement states security is on the property. There is no security. Parking lot lights and lights for the Premises are not maintained leaving many of the areas dark. Theft of Vehicle tires and apartments happens often. Many tenants move out for poor managment and infestations of roaches. The buildings are old high up keep is required just wish they would do it.. The staff in the office is. Are nice . its not theor fault managem2 is bad . staff can only do what they are allowed to do. Ive been here for 3 years allways paid my rent on time but I just cant do. Th this any longer I will be moving out so to the best of luck everyone
Wow! I usually don’t leave reviews, good or bad but my best friend just moved back to San Antonio from Virginia. She wanted something near me and we decided to stop by these apartments last month. We loved the location and she quickly moved in. Well this month she was having trouble with her payment online, which was a bit of a hassle so we went into the office. Everyone was pretty busy but the woman in the side office, I believe her name is Andrea, allowed us to sit in her office as she looked up the balance for my friend. We had such a great experience with her, she quickly gave us the information and walked us through the site to do the online payments. So friendly and we had so many laughs, definitely made us feel welcome and like we can swing by anytime with questions or concerns. Even though I don’t even live there, I spend a ton of time with my friend so I just felt compelled to compliment Andrea!
I have lived at this residence for about 5 years. Cannot beat the price and size of apartments. The staff has always been courteous with me, and my needs in the apartment. I have put in work orders that have gotten fixed In a timely matter. I know most of my neighbors, everyone is friendly.It is a great place to live. They have done many updates on the property, it looks great!
I have been living here for more then 16 years (im happy here) and these appliances were already here so stove is old. recently had the refrigerator replaced a few months ago. i also had and still have problems with the stove and needs to be replaced, the coils dont burn properly and the oven doesnt stay on, and turns off without me knowing it i dont use it anymore . it still hasnt not been replaced. i was forced to purchase a small toaster oven, my turkey on Nov 2021 took 10 hrs to bake. but the bird was only 12 I was disappointed, embarrassed, and upset as I had company. JD and Javier delivered the fridge and did a great job, they were professionals, they made sure it wasnt leaking water on the carpet thank you JD and Javier! i cant (im say anything derogatory about any of the maintenance workers.ok so now my toilet bowl has bad water stains in the toilet bowl, that have tried everything to get it out nothing worked, so I placed a work order. Savanah called and said i would have to buy a new toilet myself. i dont enjoy complaining but when the rent is due, its due.
The worst possible place you could live at. When I initially moved in I get it the benefit of the doubt of all the horrible me reviews. Apon moving in there was a horrible amount of roaches. When I addressed the management the said extermination only came Tuesdays (I moved in on a Wednesday) I explained how it was horrible abd they were everywhere but all they said was I had to wait. When I finally moved everything in the AC was broken and the dishwasher was leaking. They addressed those two problems within the week (took about twice reminding them cause when I first told them they didnt make the work order). The next problem was a shooting in the apartment at the basketball court at night. Only the building next to it got a letter about the incident. When I went to the office to ask if I would get a notice that said no that it wasnt a huge problem so they didnt feel the need to. (Im expecting a child and I dont feel safe walking from my car to my apartment anymore) and the last incident was lately, my AC broke AGAIN and it has been four weeks now and al they have done is came three times throughout those four weeks to change the filter. I am expecting a child and it is so uncomfortable in the apartment we have had to stay at a relatives place for most of the nights. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!
No AC for memorial day weekend called them twice just to get a phone call to say that they have no AC maintenance technicians and no single unit ACs and nobody will come touch my AC until Tuesday
I put work orders in for things that were wrong with the apt when i moved in, after 5 months of submitting work orders every month i finally gave up. Also their policy for moving out is 60 days written notice prior to move out, not 30 like most places, and they neglected to call me until 25 days from when my final day was supposed to be, forcing me to pay an extra month at month-to-month rates, and then quoted me a price for the extra month, in writting, and still tried not to honor the price. My water was also shut off, with no notice, for a total of 24 days for repairs, not just a line breakage, and i have yet to go through a storm there without losing power. Do NOT think this place is worth it just because of the cheap prices. there is a reason they can afford to charge such little rent. They do not service the apartments well, they take any chance they can to add hidden fees, and have more than one loophole in their contracts to screw you over if you dont become intimately familiar with their processes.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Ill be honest when me and my fiance moved in it was good for the the first 2 months, maintenance would come out the next day, when we needed to speak to some one such as a manager they were available as time progressed customer service deteriorated. Our A/C unit would constantly break down, and we would be waiting 3 weeks once even a month before they came out to fix it, and thats Bc I would be going to the office and complain. Luckily we didnt have our dughter at the time Bc things would be different especially with the temperature during the summer of 101 and inside feeling like hell itself. When I needed to speak with a manager its was always she isnt available, or you need to make an appointment (when I did that she had an emergency on several occasions). We lived there for 3 years and the last year we had enough we moved out in August 2015. What pushed us to the edge was all the roaches that appeared out of the blue and we kept our apt clean spotless, and they sent an exterminator 3 times a week yet we never saw them once. We also had a pipe that busted Bc of the apt above us causing water to drip on the ceiling they left it like that from when we moved in until we left. Even with the ceiling coming down no one came out until our last week there. I wouldnt suggest these apt to anyone they definetly need to get a whole new management team, employees, and maintenance team. If you decide to try them out good luck and hopefully they have improved but from what I hear its the same damn thing.
Terrible environment at these apartments.Stray cats everywhere, roaches outside in the wood and inside the apartments. Needles left by drug addicts, and the staff is rude and inconsiderate. Maintenance never comes when needed. I had a bad leakage in my ceiling and they never showed up to help. The Air conditioner is always breaking. The told me to clean up my dogs poop, Because they need the area nice and clean but yet you find needles everywhere you go. Its disgusting and unsanitary. Also people here are always noisy, and let there kids be everywhere without adult supervision. Kids started breaking glass outside of my building and they said they were just having fun.
I currently live here as of march. i like the staff (Savannah is cool AF) the washers and dryers to this place are mostly working. Overall this place isnt bad. if you have Julio you are good on maintenance. i had my AC unit broken and he fixed it but it took some time since they have 4 AC workers for 500 units. if you have any problems here just let the front office know but dont forget to follow through with alot of your concerns also give them some time they arent going to fix all major problems with a snap of the finger. Everyone in the complex will work with you if put in effort trust me. this is my honest review
WORST APARTMENT EVER!!!! Ladies in the office are very rude especially Maria who does the work orders, shes there once a week. So you have to wait weeks to talk to someone. I have put in a work order a month ago and it is now April 16th and no response . the plugs dont work . our disposal was cogged up the first time I washed dishes. The appliances are out dated. There has been times when the oven or the burners stay on cause i cant see the numbers or letters on the knobs. The WORST part is the toilet, the toilets dont have enough pressure and when flushing the toilet. Poop still comes up. The AC doesnt cool. Just so many problems from day one. I have only been here for about three months and it is the worst experience so far. I hope they can get someone who is more politely and respectful and actually does the job done this is ridiculous.!!!!
Maintenance is good with Julio. Parking is a joke as the security gates that dont work or are left open most of the time . The rent is reasonable here though however the bugs are bad too and since I have a reaction to certain bug spays I always have to spray myself..the exermator they use and the manger here are both rude and dont take your word for anything assuming your a lier.
My sister and i were attempting to lease an apartment here and the whole process was dragged out. Very tedious. The manager seems to never be in the office. What took them a week to finally give us a yes or a no on an application that we had been working on with them for a least 3 weeks took our current apartments only 3 hours. We think that they might have either had a problem with my occupation or something but if thats the case why not just tell us no you werent approved not to mention that our window to move out was getting smaller and smaller and we call everyday and everyday the manager is not there then finally the day we decided to find an apartment elsewhere. We called the silver oaks apartments for our deposit on the apartment they were supposed to be holding for us to get our money back and the person we were working with says oh yall were approved this morning ??? Annnd no one felt the need to call us in the morning and tell us the news given that fact that we expressed we had to move in a short amount of time. They waited until 1pm for us to call and say we want our money to tell us that we got approved and that only the one who could give us our deposit back is the manager whom btw is never in the office if this is how they treat people who are trying to move in i can only imagine the run around people who actually live there have to deal with. Management and every person working in the office is poor at best. I have kids why would you play with someones time and keep there money to put the icing on the cake is an understatement
Terrible management. When you call to get something done it takes forever. But the one most thing is when the ofc mgt which i could name gives you there word about something and the next day lies about it. We were promised that our car would not be towed and Maria lied about it! Our car was towed cost us almost 600.00 to get back. But the ofc staff declined that comment. Our dishwasher is over 10 years old the same with stove and fridge. When we have renewed our lease we requested new carpet but they always decline. This place is very old. And the parking is the worst! The only reason we stay is it is close to work and the cheapest apts. around here. They really need alot better mgt! And should give preference to there good tenants. Those that have been here for years. My advice.... Dont move here!!!!! Unless you dont mind old building, water issues, parking problems, extremely high late fees, and slow maintenance....
Wish I could give zero stars. Do NOT rent here. 18 work orders in under 3 months. Including a flooded apartment, which they still havent had anyone come tear the walls out and let the inside dry, and we all know what grows in wet dark places, replaced a water line under the sink, and when they did, they pulled the wires out of the garbage disposal and left the life wires just hanging free. This place is horrible! Currently dealing with no water and no one answering the phone at the office.
The worst place you could ever live! We had a leak from the restroom ceiling the first night we were there. Woke up to water all over the floor and water coming down from the ceiling and it took them about 4 months to come and even look at it. Called and went in to the office multiple time and the excuse they would always me was we have lot of other work order before yours! The girls in the office are completely rude and give a lot of attitude and manager is never there! The apartment they showed us was great but once we moved into the actual apartment it looked nothing like it! I hated living there! Dont move in save yourself the head not worth your money!!!
The staff was nice. Jesenia the leasing agent that was working with me was amazing! She worked with me to get the apartment and floor that I wanted. The follow up time was great she gave me a call as soon as I was excepted. Everything went really fast, I had no problems on my move in date. It really was all I could of asked for in my situation. Thank you!
Still mistreating tenants. No air conditioning and very low water flow. Also very dirty. Apartments are not clean and have mold growth problems. Not safe for babies and children. Its a terrible place to have to live. Can hardly cook or clean or bathe because of their water issues.Months have gone by and they still have not fixed the water problems. Water flow is so low you can hardly take a shower or flush toilets. Washing dishes with a small stream of water coming out isnt easy. Dishwashers and clothes washers cannot work properly with low water flow. There is often no hot water here either and when there is, it burns your skin (scalds). Cheap apartments but they treat you terribly.Dont move into any of the A buildings or on the Mabe Road side of the property. You will have major water issues that they cannot/wont fix.People in the A buildings on the Mabe Road side of the property do not always have running water and when you do, its cold and then sometimes scalding hot (people with babies and small children should be careful). Water hardly trickles out anymore, which makes cooking and showering a nitemare. Been like this for months and they claim nothing can be done about it and they wont let you put in a work order for the water problems. They are skirting the law. Never mind not having your A/C or other problems fixed...living without proper water is the absolute worst. And it shouldnt matter if tenants are rich or poor or if they charge cheap rent here, people deserve to be treated with some dignity and be able to cook and bathe safely and comfortably. This place will end up in the news. Sad...Update 07-13-16: They have MAJOR plumbing issues they claim cannot be fixed. They also are not fixing or replacing air conditioners anymore. Water to entire property is shut off for hours many times because they say repairs are needed but yet nothing is fixed. Sometimes you have water and plumbing, sometimes you dont. It is like that every day now. Bad electrical problems -the lights flicker. Fire extinguishers are no longer replaced. This place now seems very dangerous.This use to be 2 rental properties. They merged them but cut the staff by half to take care of 541 units, which is why there are always long waiting lists to have things repaired. The owners are a group of investors that dont live here and that is why they dont spend money to properly maintain the place. The place is a dump and going downhill. A/C breaks down several times and they dont come to fix things for several days or weeks. I have asked them to fix the leak in my living room ceiling several times and two years later, they still havent. They just keep saying theyll send someone but no one ever comes.Every year they send a safety company to check our fire extinguisher indoors and they tag it and says it is still good. But not this year....they have passed it for the last 8 years but it has been expired for 8 years. Office says they will give us a new one but its almost been a month and still no new fire extinguisher. Neighbors throw trash outside, drug dealers lurk and knocking on doors at all hours...the place no longer is safe. It is cheap, ugly, dirty and falling apart because the tenants dont care to pic up after themselves and the office could care less about taking care of the place. Will move out someday and celebrate getting out of this rathole.
This place sucks. Manager of the apartments and maintenance workers are worth a damn. The head maintenance man just ride around on the gulf cart all doing nothing. The other maintenance work have on idea on what theyre doing. Came home to my restroom flood. Manager said that she is not going to send maintenance, for us to clean up the water and if it is still leaking, to just keep cleaning it up. This is the 6 time that we had a leak . They still havent fix the leak in the master bedroom from the washer outside...
I been here since June 2017 I have had maintance problems where at one time my apartment flooded and it took themA week to come out finally. I had to complain over five times in till they decided to come. Their are roaches inside and even outside. I also wanted a meeting with the lady that handles the monthly checks cause she messed up on my stuff and she said no and she was annoyed they are charging me extra 106 because of her mistakes. I am pay it cause I’m done trying speake with her but I am also moving and not renewing my lease their are a lot people moving cause of the issues that been going on around here. Silver your apartment service sucks and I hope u change some of your maintance and your manager
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! These apartments are horrible. The first month I moved in my AC broke and had water soaking my whole hall way carpet. I told the office and it took them a little over a month to finally fix the problem.I had a epidemic of flies that were just randomly be found all over the apartment. At one time I counted just under 30 flies dead in one night. I had mice that would crawl through the walls and I think one died and thats where the flies were coming from.Stove never worked and when I went to move out the manager offered to finally replace the stove and then give me a couple months free rent just so I would stay.Very sketchy neighborhood. Heard gunshots multiple times.Now that I am moved out, I am being charged $120 for two months worth of water and Ive never used that much water before. Coincidence? I think not.I could keep going but I hope you get the moral of the story... DONT EVER MOVE HERE. STAY FAR AWAY!
First off I love this place mainly because of Justin which is one of the leasing Reps. It’s quiet family oriented. Friendly neighbors and great scenery.Closer to my job and Mall . The only complaint is the bugs but after letting them know I had pest control at my door in 2 days. No place is perfect but any establishment that is willing to address my concerns accurately and gives immediate attention without an attitude gets my business and will keep my business until I purchase a house. #TeamJustin ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Horrible customer service at the front office from Jessica. She had a horrible attitude when calling us about the case number she needed. She said I wouldnt be calling if I didnt need the number how unbelievably rude to speak to a tenant that way. We hadnt even moved in yet and she has the nerve to speak to us that way! My boyfriend moved in and the same day the ceiling is leaking! He got told put in a work order like are you joking?? We are going to get mold from the leak and there will be a lawsuit then. I do not recommend this place unfortunately we signed a 6 month lease so were stuck here until its over. Great! God help us.
Maintenance is lowsy! The mailboxes have been vandalized months ago, and then over a month ago, I had to go to the post office to pick up my mail until the boxes was fixed. I found out today that it was up to Silver Oaks to replace the mailboxes by the 16th, and now all mail is being sent back to sender. NOT GOOD AT ALL!! Bad enough last year before COVID hit, I had them in to fix a toilet which I was told needed to be fixed. I got a runaround, so I gave up. The same with the dishwasher I had them looked at the same time. Not the mailboxes. If it was easy for me to move, I would have out of here years ago just because of poor maintenance.
I lived here for a while. There has been some issues but nothing that was not tooking care of from office. I would like to know if silver Oaks takes rental assistance or section 8?.
My dad just moved in this past Saturday , and I must say reading all these reviews kind of scared me for my dad to even apply but we gave it a chance and Jessy took care of my dad and was very helpful with his new move. The girl that sits in the side office was very polite and helpful on giving me directions since we are not from this area and what was in the area as far as restaurants and grocery stores near to take my dad. Over all I would say the staff has been very helpful.
I havent lived at Silver Oaks for over 5 years, and yet they are still the bane of my existence. I played my rent in full and on time for my entire 1 year lease. I gave proper notice of my move out date at the end of that lease. I never received my security deposit back though I left the apartment in perfect condition. They put over $2000 in collections destroying my credit with no explaination or notice, and refuse to get back to me to resolve their mistake. Also dealt with no a/c, roaches and ants, gunshots, and a leak from the apartment above that was never fixed.
I have lived here a few months and I was promised pest control if asked for it. I have been asking for it since i moved in because the roaches are crazy. and still nothing. I didnt over react because i can always just swat them with a shoe.but then my freezer broke (is still broken). I have requested maintenance take a look at it three times already . its going on a month without a freezer. not to mention all the food I had in there has all gone bad because of it.dont live here.
I have been approved to move in and had planned on it however i am getting push back on being able to view my apartment sooner then the day prior to move in. I had a leasing agent that told me the soonest they could do it is the Thursday before move in which is on a Saturday. That leasing agent is no longer working there and now i am being told that there is absolutely no way (as if Im crazy to want to see it before) i can view before the day of move in, i was told this very rudely and i was told that if i didnt like the apartment and decided not to move in that was a personal problem and to not expect any of my money back. I have been hung up on twice and very mistreated and have yet to be able to get a hold of the manager. The past few days the phone rings and rings with no answer. When i went the sign says 5:30 is when they close but the door is locked at 5:15. When i asked for the corporate number i was told to Google it and got hung up on. I am a single mother and these apartments are one of the only apartments available (in my price range) in the boundary to the school i want my daughter to go to. I could have been reassured that the models shown are no different than the apartment i would be moving into. But i got nothing. I hope i am contacted soon and can either get reassurance or my money back.
The absolute WORST apartment I have ever lived in. Theres roaches everywhere, literally everywhere. The staff is horrendous and completely unhelpful. They have lost every package Ive ever had sent to me. Anytime when questiong the staff theyre either uninformed, disorganized, or just frankly dont care. If you value a decent apartment with at bare minimum mediocre staff available to assist youre rental needs do NOT LIVE HERE!
It’s really sad that this place is not as good as it looks. Lots of crime, I had my tires stolen off my truck and we had stuff stolen off our back porch as well. Non-handicapped People park in the handicap spaces and generally have no respect for anyone else. Our neighbors were AWFUL - screaming at each other day and night, smoking pot in their apartment with their young children present, leaving tons trash outside constantly, and generally just being disgusting and unthoughtful for their neighbors.Also beware - the a/c units are old as Father Time and you will pay an arm and leg for your energy bill during the summer. To give you an idea - we kept our 2 bedroom apt on 78F-79F and our bill was often almost $200 a month. Absolutely ridiculous. We didn’t run the heater during the winter and our bill was closer to $50.Don’t go here if you can help it.
If I could give this place no stars I definitely would. By far the WORST apartments ever! Took seven months to replace the broken stove that was here when I moved in, never fixed the roach problem that I had so I had to pay out of pocket to treat the problem the correct way, sink has been leaking the whole 10 months Ive lived here and each work order I put in they say they fixed it which is a lie. All in all this place is terrible from the multiple problems to the lazy maintenance workers, to the crappy office attendants whom always seem to have an attitude, unless you are rude to them nothing gets done. Im just so ready to be done with this place, it has been the biggest headache ever. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!
The maintenance team is amazing 👌 I could put my request in at 6am via the rental app. and they will be at my apartment by 10am. Thats fast and reliable service. I really appreciate the attention to detail and reliable service they provide. Thank you very much for always tending to our maintenance needs. Great job 👍👏👌
Management is very poor at dealing with repair issues, Kelly King will hide behind the phone and corporate and will not speak to anyone. My daughter had requested numerous times to have her AC repaired and they neglected to do so in a timely manner to the point I had to get involved. For those placing your kids in a good place just skip this place (Silver Oak Apartments. The corporate office Equimax Management only has an answering service and so far no return calls from corporate.
We just singed on for our second year, it’s a fair community with lots of beautiful big trees, and our work orders get taken care of the next day if not same day. The employees are kind but my only qualm is that the washers and dryers are always breaking down and you don’t know until you already paid for an run a cycle. Other than that it’s a great place to live in👍

Nothing false about these reviews. Had roaches, AC didnt work for weeks and the office didnt care at all. Stayed a year then moved in to an apartment down the street that is 5 stars. No bugs maintenance is great and the office even remembers your name. Run fast away from Silver Oaks.
I dont usually write a review but this place deserves.I left while ago rented 2 times different years and first time was quite peaceful place with professional staff and manager thats why one star.Lets talk about second time during one year going to office and taking about issues was as common as me going to work and can say they wouldnt care. manager never there and rude no customer service experience at all.I do want to write something good but dont remember any happened to me except frustration.i finally moved out and after a while I called them about my deposit here it gets interested ( we cant help you call when manager is here) and manager never there.so after one year yes one year calling them I gave up.I dont think anyone deserves treated like that or been ignored . No matter what we should be treated as a human
Silver Oaks Apartments, my home, reported that my AC was not cooling over three weeks ago. Air set to 60, thermostat reads 70, my own thermometer reads 80. I feel like Im baking. No attempts to fix the AC or contact me have been made by my leasing office. When I have called or walked into the office, I have been told, Im on the list.
I have lived here for less than two years. I have hated it. I came in with so many things wrong with my apartment, they ended up fixing some of them. They just push the rest of the problems to side. I am currently waiting on two sink leaks to be repaired and a washing machine connection as well. The only reason I am here is because of convenience due to family living here as well. Do not rent here, it has been one big headache. Plus the kids from other neighbors run wild and break everything.

Yesterday Sept 13, 2017 I called the front office and spoke to Jen. The purpose of my call was to find out why doesnt the gate ever close and if its broken. I expressed this concern to Jen and advised her that my daughter is a potential tenant for this complex and one of the reasons we were drawn to the apt is because of the security gate. I told her I was advised that the gate stays open during the day and at 800pm it locks allowing only tenants access with their pin # . She said she was unaware if it was broken and thats its not a gate for security but controlled access. She place me on hold for over 2 minutes, came back to the phone and told me she just spoke with manager Kelly ( if thats her real name) and told me a people ALWAYS run into the gate to open it and that its only been down for a week but that a maintenance requests was submitted. Then asked for my name. I told her my name is irrelevant. Then i asked how long before its repaired , she said in an unpleasant tone when ever they get a chance and reminded me its not for security but could not tell me what its for when i asked. Then spoke very angrily n proceeded to ask me for my name and my apartment #. Once again old her my name is irrelevant and I said that my daughter is a potential tenant but that if this is how you treat potential tenants we may need to reconsider this as a resident of this complex. Then she asked when did she put in an application. I told her she hadnt put it in yet, then Jen hung up the phone. This complex was one of the top 3 that I had been considering for my daughter despite the negative reviews we were willing to give it a chance. The 3 times I had gone to view the property ( 2 differrent units) i met with Mylene ( very sweet lady). The other 2 women are unpleasant to look at as they just stare and do not smile ( nothing friendly or approachable). I dont know their names as one must be Jen and the other is a heavy blonde and sits in the middle. Ladies you in customer service representing the complex. Your 3 faces are who people see upon entering the bldg. Obviously you feel your not going to be held accountable for hanging up and being disrespectful to potential tenants. I hate to see how they treat current tenants. Now i see why their ratings are so low ( a 1.7) we have crossed this apartment of the list. You just lost a great tenant. If you dont like your job or you feel your too good for the area then quit and make jobs available for other people that want to work and have excellent customer service skills such as Mylene. Theirs no telling how much business this complex has lost because of lack of customer service skills. I will be making a call to speak with the manager, wonder how that is going to go.
A friend of mine lives here and hasn’t had A/C since December 2018. It is now July 2019. These apartments were on the news (News4SA) where they covered this story. Trying to talk to management you can see how rude they are. They don’t care. Look elsewhere and tel your friends and family to avoid this place. It needs serious help and a whole new crew of management.
Jesse was amazing she assisted me and was very helpful, however living conditions is not the best. Maintenance did not do what was supposed to been done in a timely manner took multiple times of me requesting for things to get done. The stars are for Jesse and all she has done and helped me with otherwise this place is not the best. Also management is ruse went by just recently because no one is in office or answering phones. Looked inside window saw the woman walking around but the moment I knocked she rand into her office shady.
This place has rats, stray cats and roaches and litter is all over the property with dog feces all over the walkways and cat vomit. It is horrible and the manger King is rude and the billing is always a mess. I had to go to an attorney to help with the billing and King has not addressed the issue yet after months. You can not get information for their corporate office and the listing they give you for the location of the corporate office doesnt exist. This corporation should be investigated and something done about the way residents are treated by this manager. I would not recommend this property to anyone. I have notified the military concerning these issues. It doesnt deserve even a one star.
We had roaches the day we moved in, toilets didnt work, AC didnt work and didnt get fixed for months and even then it went out again and never got fixed, Activity center is never open, laundromat had several broken machines, dogpoop everywhere, mold was in our fridge, the sliding door broke on my very first day and it isnt very handicap friendly
The first day we moved in we had issues with the AC and we talk to the manager and still it hasnt been fixed its been since August 25, the stove has one broken burner the drawer to the bottom is broken, the toilet to the master bedroom wont flush right we have to pour water to flush it and dishwasher is spilling water out . we are very unhappy tenants.
No air conditioning is a serious breach of contract and nothing to scoff at in mid 90s Texas weather. The apartment manager is scrum who doesnt care one bit to fix it, lets see them try to fix their poor ratings then. 0/5 stars
If I could give this place less then a star, was a resident for 2 years always paid on time and never had a complaint. When I left the this horrible complex left it in MINT condition spot less almost better than when I first got it; did evert hinges I was told to close the lease and than some. Come to figure the staff in the front never processed paper work to end my lease ended up getting g a collection call saying I owe $1200 plus. Just stupid and lazy staff please dont become a resident here, they screw you over trust me.
So I put in my application.There were so many red flags to begin with. It took over a week for them to give me an answer. Submitted all my info first. Then it was said I needed a cosigner. She and I paid application fees. So we waited. Then we got a final call from Savanah saying I needed to pay admin fees total of $225. Only to find out after all info was verified from both our jobs than because of a dwi felony my application was denied...now I could be waiting a month for my money...thats ridiculous.
Rent is cheap but you will be miserable if your A/C breaks. Lived here for 2 years and the A/C broke at least 4 times. Waited weeks for it to be fixed after calling several times I personally drove around the complex until I found the a/c guy and then he fixed it. I also moved out in Oct 2014 and left the place spotless. It is now Feb 2015 and they still have yet to give me the deposit back.
Been here for 2 years, yes i admit the community is old, the parking space are not well defined no obvious markings,I like my neighbors few of them been here for more that a year, we look out for each other, i like the trees around it, A lot of stray cats me and my neighbor adopted a couple. Service wise not great you have to wait at least 2 weeks before your request will get done when its emergency yes they show up right away like in the next 10 mins, This is not a luxurious community you get for the price you paid. So far no break-ins,neighbors are respectful,friendly,no crimes reported that Im aware. the gym is deceiving not a lot of equipment available some doesnt work.Overall impression not bad for the price I paid. I just wish mgt can paint lines on parking spaces some resident are not conscientious where they park occupying 2 spots.
Staff is lacking in areas. Overall for the price its worth it Imo. I love my new apartment minus not having washer and dryer hookups but Ill live. Community is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Not a bad place for couples or singles.
This place is disgusting. Our AC unit broke 6 times in a year, our laundry room had a leak in the wall that grew black mold (that they refused to acknowledge or fix), our sink had a leak that grew black mold (took 6 weeks to get someone out to fix). They add a fee for trash, but the trash doesnt get picked up because they dont pay the city. The front office is the rudest, most foul group of individuals I have ever come across in my entire life, management is apparently a loose term there. We moved out after 12 months because we couldnt take it anymore. They told us we had another month on our lease (which is stupid...who gives a 13 month lease?!) and are now charging us $250, which they sent to collections without even a notice to us. Do not live here unless you want headache, after headache!
I love all the staff; Hector, Gus,Danny ,PJ, Mike, Daniel ;the office team, Jesse, Martha, Justin, Maria, Andrea, and Kelly.In July, I had an aweful apartment to move in with numerous violations where the staff agreed with me that I shouldnt have moved in.It took 1x of my notifications to the office of all the violations and within a week, all of the violations were corrected to my satisfactions.I am elated and thankful to the Silver Oaks Team for diligently working together for my satisfaction and making my house a HOME ❣️
My a/c went out again at the worst time, it’s over 100 degrees out here in San Antonio and inside my apartment the temperature was 80 degrees and climbing! I spoke with the answering service and within a few hours my a/c is working again thanks to Steve. He was professional, friendly and explained the capacitor went out. I’m so glad he got the a/c to work again especially with this heat. Thanks again Steve!
We havent had a working AC for over a month and no one seems to care or know what to do. Ive put in so many maintenance requests inthe app and in person but everytime they send someone out, it works for 5 minutes until the maintenance worker leaves, and then it stops working. Or the maintenance worker says Ill be right back Im gonna fix it today, and then NEVER comes back to fix it.They never give you an estimate of the time that theyll come by to check the AC, so if Im at work and they try to come in, THATS IT they tried and dont get back to us for another 2 weeks.Its just sad that my family and friends cant come and visit because theyre so uncomfortable when they do.Its like they try to find ANY excuse not to help you or repair their outdated equipment and ac units.
Dont rent here! Roaches everywhere! The water is either too cold or to hot! My ac never worked. Maintance always took at least a week to come. Even my heater went out during winter i had to buy myself a mini plug in one they took so long. Horrible parking! Plus all the neighborhood kids are runing around.
No water pressure at all. Cant even take a shower and barely can clean dishes!!!! Water doubled in price for no reason, no warnings of why. But for what, Shouldnt be paying for water we barely recieve!!!! Ants and roaches are out of control! Property manager doesnt respond to concerns or respond to emails when you try to get hold of her that way either. Yes its cheap, its what we can afford at this time. But it doesnt mean that we should live in a dump! Not to mention that the kids run rampid and have no respect for people or property. When you try to get the office to help out they dont care. Be careful living here.
I have been with the A/C or hot water for 2 days because of miscommunication on their part and still nothing has been done about it. I spoke with the assistant manager (Not customer Oriented )had Attitude, like if he was doing me a favor of me living on property. I was denied means anyway of getting in contact with property manager. I hope if there is any higher management that looks at this post to give me a call.
I have to say you have the greatest customer service representative EVER! Without her, i would not have been committed to be a tenant. Lived here for two years. A man was shot six times in front of my apartment, and i spent two months living off property due to a black mold problem. Customer service was awful, and they refused to reimburse me for the time my apartment was unliveable. The AC broke multiple times over the summer, and it took weeks to be fixed. Would not reccomend.
My name is Sherry and hope corporate or the manger views this . The silver oaks staff is very unprofessional and rude and hung up on my face 4 times I have phone records and recordings to prove it .Its going on 2 weeks today that My A/C is broken . Ive been lied to everyday I call its was supposed to be fix Monday 6/19 like the staff advised me nope . I have a medical condition and I have to stay in a hotel because its 100+ no one can live like that . I called to advised them this call will be recorder for legal reasons instead of listening to me Arlene asked someone today should I just hung up on her Ive asked for the supervisior to contact Via email since she cant respond to me through email . Ive been told they dont have a corporate/district adress/telephone number/email . I pay my rent on time and they have the audacity to hung up on me when I have an apartment that I cant live in . No one contacted me back Ive already begun taking legal actions . I have all my documentations and phone recordings . NO ONE SHOULD MOVE HERE IVE HAD PROBLEMS SINCE DAY ONE MOVING IN AND IT TAKES FOREVER FOR THEM EVEN TO COME To FIX ANYTHING .
We moved in a few months ago and couldnt be happier with the apartment and community! I also want to note that Justin is always helpful and addresses concerns immediately with professionalism and kindness! The entire office and maintenance staff make this community feel like home!
Well its got better maint wise but my bathroom tile is ruined mold on my kitchen tile. The woos under bathroom and kitchen sink is rotted. I hope they dont want damages when I move out. This happened over the years from water leaks that took days and weeks to fix.
Lived here for year not the greatest apartments, if you are okay with scorpions, spiders and roaches then this is the place.Parking is horrible here as well you can never find a parking space. The apartments are very old my apartment was basically falling apart my dishwasher, my faucet my toilet it was just not a great experience but i needed a place affordable but i would not recommend these apartments.
The newly hired maintenance man Mark did a fantastic Job handling my previous work orders. I have had no issue since from replacing my sink to fixing my disposal. Im very great full for his service.
WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX EVER!!! I really wish I would have done better research on this place before I moved in. Front office is very rude and literally make comments/faces at you when you ask them for help. I got a warning for leaving my trash in front of my door? I lived on the third floor even if i did do something like that how would they have known? Nothing but a bunch of ghetto tenants. Kids are everywhere cussing and throwing things at passing cars. Every night you would hear someone fighting in the streets or at the basketball court. One of my neighbors stated that his ex wifes dad is one of the maintenance members on site and he deals cocaine to the poor people that live there. Totally disgusting. Also the night we finally moved out someone was shot in the face doing a drug deal in front of the building we lived in! Talk about good timing who knows what would have happened if i were to see that. And when I paid my final bill with them they told me to leave since im not a tenant anymore. Terrible place. Im glad this place has a low rating cause they are terrible.
These apartments suck! They are cheap for a reason. Maintenance sucks and they take forever to do any of the work orders. Front office ladies are rude. I would not recommend living here AT ALL!!! I only had a 12 month lease and Im NOT staying here for another year, moving out as soon as i can! I hate these damn apartments!
Customer service sucks!!! Kelly the main maneger is the most rudest person EVER! Its barley my first month and I REGRET EVER MOVING HERE ! its cheap and all but its not worth it . I paid my rent on time and I got all these late fees for no reason . Not to mention that I got a email at work that said I was late (hardly ever late on anything) , I called the office and they NEVER answer . The calls get routed to the answering service were they cant do anything. The apartment people NEVER call you back. I got off work to come handle the situation and the manager was so rude and disrespectful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!
What a wonderful place! Jessy made the process super easy and kept me informed with everything going on. A truly professional person! The floor plans are great, the showers are heavenly and maintenance responds quickly to every request - no matter how small. Thanks for a great experience!!
Without causing myself additional stress from revealing too much of an ongoing and possible legal situation, if you are able to rent a house in lieu of an apartment, you will be doing yourself a great favor. I have officially decided that after this final horrible apartment experience, I am buying a house (or renting a house if the former is not possible). I have never, in my entire renting experience, had an apartment manager explicitly inform me she would take further action against me, an action that is CLEARLY against the Texas Property Code Chapter 92 and also clearly a suable offense, for something that is no fault of my own. Suable, obviously if carried-out but Im also inquiring as to if it is a suable offense just for being stated as a threat. If law enforcement is on my side in an episode occuring on the premises - a violation committed by another party, who does this chick think she is?! This is almost worth breaking the lease and dealing with seven years of a credit report ding. Time to buy a house!! Its not worth trying to live a decent life, keeping to yourself, when youre surrounded by people who have not set any goals for their lives - reflected by their habits and obvious disregard for other people. Jason and wife, I wish I knew if you actually broke your lease, where you moved to, and what became of your situation. Let me know if you want to compare notes for potential options.
BEWARE!!!!! My friend has lived here almost 2 months; the air has never worked properly. In the middle of the night the coolest it gets is 79 degrees. She has begged them to fix it, they keep telling her they will send someone......nothing! She has been told there is nothing that they can do!!!!! HORRIBLE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! This is a FORCED STAR
Julio an steve are Awesome in maintenence. They always are friendly an take care of problem an explain what happened an what they did. Very positive and knowledgeable and fast on request response. These guys represent apt complex outstandingly.
Me and my husband had been looking for a place to live for a while and came across Silver Oaks , we toured the place, (ASK FOR Jessenia ) Singed the papers because we LOVED IT and waited until the end of October to move in. Now our first day was a little rough I must admit. The apartment unit we moved into wasn’t ready as it should’ve been but I did speak with Jessenia, as she had been helping us through our moving process, and she did everything she could to get everything fixed that wasn’t ready.I was so worried that this place was going to be a living nightmare. BUT THANKFULLY it hasn’t been so far. We love it. It’s a place we can call home.Jessenia has been such an amazing help on whatever we’ve needed , any questions we have had she’s helped answer even after we’ve moved in she still continues to be such a great help.Justin (asst. manager) has also been help ! Responded quickly to what needed to be fixed.I honestly believe there are bad reviews because something doesn’t go their way or people just being WAYYY to dramatic.It is an older complex but I believe they are trying their best to fix issues here and there.
This place applied my rent pymt to my water first then called my rent late for months!! Its not worded that way in their lease, they just did it. No explanation why. They took me to court & the judge ordered me to pay them no money, but somehow theres over $3000 on my credit report showing past due. How does that work?!
New staff in the office every time you go in. If you can find somewhere else I highly recommend you to do it!They tell you something and then call you a liar when you repeat the conversation back to them at a later time! The add ons to your rent are outrages, too! Charged me $111.00 for water in 2 months for one person!If your considering living here, RUN away fast!!!!
Love my new apt. Got in super quick and Valerie was such a sweetheart. She helped me so much and is so professional and friendly!! Really happy with the office staff!!!!
Horrible place to move in! Infested with Roaches, A/c has not been working and Jesenia is horrible. They will not let you speak to manager and they lie to you. DO NOT MOVE IN THIS PLACE LIES AFTER LIES! Jesenia has very bad customer service and very Rude. I will be calling code compliance and even calling the news. Yes rent is cheap but younger what you pay for ROACHES, SHOWER LEAKS, A/C DOES NOT WORK!
I moved in over the weekend and have had no issues. Justin was my amazing leasing agent, he was so helpful and made sure everything was perfect for me. I look forward to my next year here.
THESE APARTMENTS ARE TRASH! I recommend you do not waste your time moving here my a/c went out last week and still hasn’t been fixed I called emergency line and they cannot do anything because it rained earlier I called the other day and someone didn’t forward the calls so the emergency line wasn’t working!!!!! No a/c and it’s 95 in my apt that is against the contract and I’m sure this is a SAFETY FOR MY HEALTH!!! I will be moving out ASAP!!!!
The price for the apartment is decent but living here...is less than decent when they say 24 hr mantience they mean exactly that you have to wait 24 hrs for someone to come help you with anything this complex constantly has water problems if its not the water not running in the kitchen sink then the ceiling is leaking and if its not that then the toilet doesnt flush properly and if the toilet flushes then it will continue to flush for the next 30 mins and if its not that then your going to be taking a cold shower. Not to mention the water leaking from the laundry room into the bedroom and next thing you know there are black mushrooms growing out of the wall in your bedroom less than 2ft away from your bed.
The leasing process has been so easy for me thanks to Jesenia! Shes great to work with, super smart, fast, and really cares about helping you as much as possible. Shes made our process so easy and fast, if leasing or looking I suggest asking for Jesenia :)
This place is infested with roaches. I thought people were over exaggerating, but no they’re right. We killed about 12 roaches while I was trying to cook dinner in the kitchen. They’re everywhere now! It’s disgusting, no matter how many times we’ve sprayed or bomb the place.Our lease is up and I’m so glad we’re leaving here in a couple weeks. Wouldn’t recommend.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the front desk. All of the front desk people are rude, and apathetic. Don’t try to speak to the apartment manager, she’s even worse.DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.ROACHES AND ANTS have been in my apartment since i moved in. Along with that, the ceiling leaks. There is only TWO maintenance men for the entire complex.Save yourself the time and disappointment.
This place sucks at taking care of maintenance. It took three months to fix my dishwasher. Before that it took several weeks to get minor plumbing problems fixed in the bathroom and kitchen. Attempted on multiple occasions to contact the manager but she was never available and never replied to email.
The staff and maintenance are great at responding to their residents. They have also implemented proper COVID protocols. A particular staff member, Julio, is always so polite and professional.
Terrible customer service, really disrespect too. I try to rent an apartment and my mom passed so I decided move back with my dad and Im still waiting for my depositAnd when I call asking for the Mgr or the bookeeper they always away at lunch never return phone callsI need an answer please, you guys say take 30 days to return the deposit and is been 3 monthsNo serious people to make business with

So I lived here February 2017-September 2017 THANK GOD ME AND MY ROOMMATE DECIDED 8 MONTHS BC THESE WERE THE WORST APARTMENTS EVER PLZ LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS BC WE DIDNT ! A/c was constantly broken we out ac units both our room that we bought and we were on top of the example room so they did not like that but GUESS WHAT WE DIDNT LIKE OUT AC BROKEN 24/7 , also ANTS EVERYWHERE! E.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e ! And dirty water YELLOW DIRTY WATER ! Plz don’t move here ): no matter how cheap it is it’s not worth it !
I’ve lived in the apartment complex for about four years. Good value for the price they charge. The staff has improved quite a bit since the year I moved in. They seem to handle maintenance issues in a timely manner.
Will not deal with the bugs in my daughters apartment. No matter how many times she has complained. Just recently fixed the rodent problem. Not very good management in my opinion.
I hate this apartment so much we have lived here for a year and a half the AC is always broken and making our walls leak on top of that we are getting water stains on the ceiling the management does nothing they will temperearily fix it until it does it again our bathroom sink hasnt worked for over a month and no one still hasnt done anything we also have a road problem . This place is unlivable and someone needs to shut it down

They stink, worst place I have rented from in 10 year renting history. Management company is only responsive if you are a prospective tenant. After signing the lease, its going to be all downhill from there.
Eventhough it took Maintenance to fix my door issue over 3 hours. They were extremely nice and helpful.
I have lived here for a year and this is the 5th time my A/C has gone out. Average waiting time to have this fixed has been anywhere from 3-7 days. If I could give them negative stars I would.
Very poor customer service and experience, havent had any a/c for the past 5 days, made 3 maintenance orders and still has not been fixed, all the staff members at the office are rude and dont care that a first time resident burn up at night, they cant even provide me with a window unit and havent even lived here a month, DO NOT LEASE HERE
Updating my review, they have addressed the main issue with the mailbox. We get the keys on time only problem is someone keeps breaking into them. If you see someone doing that please report it!

I moved in on the 24th of June and it’s been nothing but problems.. The A/C hasn’t been working and it’s been nothing but excuses.. The manager Chris starts off very pleasant and once I start complaining and he hangs up on me.. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE
In july it will be a year that i live here and out of the whole year ive only had a/c for like 2 month and i put numerous work orders in and they say they fix it but its still hot .. i can wait to move out.. this front office people are very rude to the people who live here

Poor management! Mabe road gate is never closed. Cars get broken into , car covers stolen ...Mail boxes get broken into on a regular basis. When I call the office to report , the rep Terry said “ oh again “. This is not a gated community!

We moved here on June 11th, it seemed awesome at first to be renting my first apartment with my best friend, since move in day, our ac had not been fixed yet, nearly two to three weeks already, it is summer and it gets extremely hot in here to the point where I wake up sweating and thats not right for us since we are paying 700 a month, ants are a major problem and will be almost everywhere, Im just upset about the ac, my dog is panting very hard at this moment
THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED !!!!!!!! PLZ PPL RUN FROM THIS PLACE RUN FAR AND NEVER RETURN !! LIVED THERE FOR 2 YEARS AND THERE WERE GUNSHOTS 10 FEET FROM MY SONS WINDOW ....MANAGEMENT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!! KELLY HIDES BEHIND HER DESK AND SHE IS SO LAZY SHE DOESNT EVEN COME IN UNTIL AFTER 11 !! THEN SHE IS ALWAYS UNAVAILABLE ! We put in our 60 days notice and frank lost it so we brought in the copy of it and they wouldnt even look at it and told us to get a lawyer !!!!! So we did :) just waiting on them to see what kind of deposit they decide to send back then then we go from there....smh !! We lived there for 2 years and never gave anyone any problems ! They are too big of a complex with not enough workers ! This place needs to be shut down !!! I can go on for days with the problems we have had from them..but nobody has time for that just dont move there !!!
Worst place Ive ever lived!!! Roach infested, black mold throughout, 80s settings/appliances, no a/c for weeks, horrible neighborhood, dog feces everywhere, poor maintenance and horrible office staff. Please look elsewhere, DO NOT waste your time and money the way we did!!!!! Advise legal action if your dooped into living there!!!
I KNOW I SHOULDVE BEEN POST THIS well lets see about Nov 2015 I applied to silver oaks apartments the apartment that they showed me was a model it was okay so I came back with my money orders the next day on my lunch hour and they told me theyll give me a call when they hear something so a couple days went by and i went by there and everything was ok well they got to telling me that the apartment I choose was rented out so they telling me that they will knock off a $100 dollars on my first months rent if I get another apartment well the apartment that they was gonna have me living in was filled with Roaches I had one shoe on and the other one in my hand killing roaches and the tub was very nasty inside and out I told them I dont live like this the balcony door didnt lock This is just wrong the apartment looked like a run down hotel and they told me that it had just been clean I told them not that one and I ask did they have anything else they said no i said what about that model they said the model was just for show I said thats why it look good huh so they gave me back my first months rent but they act like they didnt want to they told me that i had to wait for some manager to approve it before they let any money go but the whole time whoever that manager was they were there the whole time BUT IM STILL WAITING ON MY SECURITY DEPOSIT BECAUSE THATS MONEY THAT YOU GET BACK WHEN YOU MOVE OUT IF THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PLACE BUT I NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER MOVE IN AND EVERY TIME I CALL TO SPEAK WITH THE PROPERTY MANAGER HE/SHE IS NEVER THERE OR HE/SHE WANT BE BACK TILL MONDAY SO THATS WHAT THEY SAY ANYWAY BUT I WANT MY SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK....DO THEY EVEN HAVE A PROPERTY MANAGER????
Julio fixed my ac when it was hot and it is blowing some badass cold air, and now that it’s cold the heater is working just as good!!
Since Day 1 maintenance requests get done when THEY FEEL LIKE IT even emergencies like sinks flooding AC not cooling IN ! Kim , the manager is a joke unprofessional unorganized and RUDE!THANK GOD only 1 month until Im OUT!

Possibly the worst apartment complexes I’ve ever stayed at, they only take care of the front of the complex where the office is at so it makes a good 1st impression to 1st time renters, they don’t have stable staffing Ive seen multiple leasing agents and book keepers within the year I stayed here to make matters worse it’s a back and forth chase just to get information from them and to get serviced, I had to wait a whole month to get my A/C fixed last summerThe reason it’s also cheap is because they let almost anyone rent here, I’ve never seen so many meth heads in one spot
Poor to Fair doesnt even describe how horrible this place is.. sink leaked for months even though they came 3 times to fix it .They lock the laundry room door with no notice as to what hours are and when you have to be at work at 8 am and your clothes are locked in the laundry room when you call the answering service they will hang up on you and then tell you its not an emergency

No hot water on Thanksgiving. No answering service picks up. It rings and rings and rings. This apartment complex never ceases to amaze when it comes to dropping the ball.
The water cuts off a lots. They always says there is maintenance and after 7 pm only cold water returns without hot water unntil next day
All is good...Only they need take care more about gardens and clean the place.

There is dog waste everywhere, laundry rooms are FILLED with mosquitoes due to the machines not working and having water there since who knows when, the management is horrible, as well as, when calling to fix things they say they’ll come but don’t, and end up coming when we they can, which is usually after a week of having a broken dishwasher that’s stinking up the place, the smell of apartments smells like wet dog and I noticed that they didn’t even change the carpet, they simply washed it.
Martha was such a big help in moving me into my very first apartment she explained everything and helped each step of the way my apartment is great!
I put a work order to fix things and my ac 2 weeks ago and ever since Julio left maitnace hasnt been the same
Horrible maintenance service,😠 This units get really hot. You dont leave your dog in the car, and you dont leave your tenants in apartments without air conditioning,please dont waste your money and time with this horrible place!!!! Roaches everywhere!!!!😧😰

This morning I tried to call the leasing office and did not get good customer service the lady that answer the phone the first time would not answer my question. The first time I called she hung up on me, not good customer service. Thats giving me a red flag not to rent here

Great Place to live really friendly people and quiet place the only thing its the parking its hard to find parking at night by your apartament but i will highly recommend Silver Oaks 👌

I have had a pleasant experience here. It is cheap for the area and no one bothers me. The rent is cheap, but the apartments are not cheap. The larger units have washers and dryers. I dont use the community pools, rec center, etc. often, so i cant say much on that quality. Neighbors are friendly and there is an even amount of young couples and families living here. Also, they are welcoming to first time renters. Keep in mind that the complex has been going through major improvements lately. So response time for minor problems in your unit (if you have a problem) will take a bit longer because so much is going on at the moment. Just be nice and respectful and you wont have a problem.
