We had an idea of what we wanted in an apartment, but had no idea about what part of town, what amenities were available in our price range, and had no way of viewing our apartment choices prior to paying a deposit and moving in. Having someone in the city doing the ground work that can only be done in person was completely necessary.Mike was awesome to work with - he returned my calls and texts right away, got to know me and my husband and got a good sense of our priorities in a new home, had inside information that only someone working in the industry would know, and knew all of the front desk associates by name (at EVERY place we considered), and... they all knew him. When my husband and I had a minor emergency with our original choice, (the tenant who was supposed to move out decided that they wanted to stay after all, and displaced us when we were in the middle of driving across the country to our new home) I called Mike in a panic, and right away he knew what to do; he already knew of another place that had opened up that also met our needs, was in the same part of town, and was even more affordable than our original choice. After we talked it through, he made a call to not only verify that an apartment was available that met our exact specifications, but also let the rental management know that we would be applying, and vouched for us.After getting accepted to our new home, and moving in, the rental associates praised Mike and his services for always being able to get a sense for the people who will fit really well here and I get a sense that is probably a universal throughout all of the Apartment complexes that Mike works with.I honestly dont know what we would have done without Mike, my husband and I love our new place and we never would have found it without Mikes help. Michael gave up an entire Saturday to help two moms from Austin find an apartment for their daughters in San Antonio. Not being familiar with the area, we didnt even begin to know where to look. We gave Michael a list of must-haves and he sent us a list of properties, from which we pulled six or seven contenders. I hadnt rented an apartment since 1996 and things have changed a LOT. Thankfully with Michael, he knew exactly what questions to ask, some of which I wouldve never thought of. At the end of the day we were left with two properties which fit our needs and from that we allowed our daughters to pick the one they wanted.If your kids are on their way to UTSA and need help choosing off-campus housing, please give Michael a call. Hes capable, proactive, extremely professional, easy to work with, and knows rentals in SA like the back of his hand. I have used apartment locators for years now for the convenience of someone doing the legwork at no cost to myself. Mike here with Apartment Buddy went above and beyond all of my previous experiences with locators. He took it seriously, gave me a ton of options, helped me narrow them down, and so much more. He gave me a nice link with all the properties listed together where I could see pictures, what amenities they had, their floorplans, their pricing and even a Google Maps link. After we narrowed the list down to a handful he called each property for availability. He then gave me a PDF with the availability of each property and a contact at each location. He even went so far as to make a 3 way phone call to the properties so I could ask the questions I wanted to. My wife & I lived in a very nice area of Stone Oak. Due to my wifes prolonged illness, we ended up losing everything and were starting over.
