Bought a few things from them over the years. Coins, had some custom jewelry made, etc. Seems they have 2 separate businesss, Jewelry and coins? I gave a review on the Gold and silver shop that did my custom jewelry and Recently bought several tubes of silver coins and a little gold. Transaction went very smooth and quick, as it has always done. Very good price and service. Couldnt ask for more. Recommend both business.
Stopped by after a Google search in order to see if anything I had was worth value. Joe was polite, kind, knowledgeable, and VERY fair. Would 100% do repeat business with them AND would recommend them to others.
Larry the owner is the kindest, most knowledgeable and generous coin collector we’ve met in San Antonio. We bought a bunch of different items and paid cash. I bought this awesome mint proof coins from his personal collection.Definitely stop by!
I went here to browse and ask a few questions... even thought it was at closing time. What a great experience! Larry and Kirk spent a lot of time with me, and we ended up chatting about coins and exchanging a lot of great info. They genuinely helped me learn a lot of stuff. Teaching, explaining, and showing me. With ZERO pressure to buy anything. Its crazy... they never once implied that I needed to buy anything. He just spent his time teaching me.I didnt buy anything but I told him Id come back with more questions. Larry gave me his cell phone number and told me to call if I ever needed to come by, even if they were closed on Fridays/Saturdays.This is a GREAT shop. It is completely different than every other shop Ive experienced. Highly recommend Larry.
Our family consulted owner Joe Heggy about an inherited coin collection. None of us knew much about coins. For a reasonable fee, Joe drove the hour from San Antonio to our local bank, where the coins were kept, and provided a detailed assessment of hundreds of coins. He was transparent about the process and patient with all of our questions. He also provided valuation from the date of the inheritance for tax purposes. After getting bids from multiple places, including an online gold buyer, Joe gave us the best price for both the collectibles and the coins that were gold bullion (e.g. Krugerrands). We highly recommend him.
Larry gave me the fairest and highest price for my 20 gram gold bar. He was fair, honest. He is a nice and professional gentleman and I highly recommend going to his coin and precious metals shop before any other in San Antonio and in Texas. He was the best appraiser and buyer I found and I researched Austin, Dallas and Houston as well....Larry T Bryant.
They have always been mild and polite when I walk in with none of the arrogance Ive gotten from other stores. They even took a look at one of my coins for free.
Wonderful owner and a pretty chill guy.Couldn’t see why others think he’s rude other than he wouldn’t buy/sell at the price they believed they should get. Sounds like typical hard-headed people.Bought some coins from him and he was really nice and respectful.
This is in response to the comment below by the owner 7 months after my original post. At NO time were we told there had been a burglary. We would have understood that. This man--the owner-- hung up on us WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. He was RUDE. Now, 7 months later he tries to say it was our fault. LIAR! Do not trust this man. The rest of the post below is the original post...UNEDITED. In it I clearly say it is NOT because he was not open. It was because he was rude. EXTREMELY RUDE. I do not leave false reviews. I do not leave reviews for minor offenses. This was OVER THE TOP. And now even more so since this owner wants to blame us for HIS rudeness. After 7 months you cant apologize??? You have to blame us because you dont like it that I left you a bad review??? Wow. I cannot stress that this is really, really bad customer service. Again I DID NOT CHANGE ANY OF THE WORDING BELOW. It is what I wrote 7 months ago. I stand by it...because it is the truth.Original Complaint- UNEDITEDWe did business with Texas Coins a year ago. We were pleased with the experience and came back. The website said the store was open until 3 on Saturday. We walked in the store and were met by a construction contractor who said the store was closed but that we could call the owners cell. That he lived nearby and might make an appt with us since we were there at the store. My husband called and the owner rudely told him he was closed. My husband asked when he would be open and the owner rudely hung up on him. We will no longer do business with him. It is a shame for the owner because we had a lot of merchandise to sell. I want to be clear that what prompted this review is NOT that he was not open even when his website said he was. It is NOT that he wouldnt make an appt when he was closed. It is that he was rude to a customer. Hanging up on someone who wants to do business with you is inexcusable. It must mean he doesnt need business. So dont take your business there.
Great business with really good prices!
I highly recommend doing business here at Texas Coins! They have great customer service and are very knowledgable of the different types of coins and fair prices that you just cant beat. I am definitely coming back.
Mr. Harmon is an honest and knowledgeable coin dealer. He gives great prices when a customer is buying or selling their coins, and he also educates you. I highly recommend Larry at Texas Coins.
I read the post and gave them the benefit of the doubt. My experience was rude as well, he laughed and rejected my business. I was nothing but calm and courteous to him.
I would not recommend this place to any coin collector. Gentleman behind the counter is extremely rude and wont give you fair market value for your coins. Please do not wast your gas to come here. I recommend Harrys up the street or find a Top Seller on Ebay with high transaction numbers with positive feed-backs.
Great customer service appreciate your help straightforwordness and professionalism for precious metals
The owner literally cursed me out on the phone. This is completely unacceptable behavior for a place of business to operate under. I hope that someone will see this and think twice about doing business with such a terrible man.
Very friendly environment. It’s a small shop but has enough to look thru. Prices seem reasonable. Will definitely visit again.
I highly do not recommend this place to no one this cat told me he has overhead and didnt want to sell or buy spot price going to call better business berue this guy needs to get run out of San Antonio
Great place to find silver. Has always been kind enough to answer questions for someone wanting to learn more about silver investing. Highly recommend
Larry is very helpful and gives awesome deals on his coins and bullion. I highly recommend this place to buy or sell.
Looked on website, called to ask a question, very rude individual.Says retired vet,he needs to retire from the coin business as well. How can you represent yourself as someone who has defended our country but yet so rude to those you fought for.Very miserable person.I wouldnt do business with him to save my own damn life!
This was a great experience and I have been there several times! Very helpful and knowledgeable! I highly recommend!
Larry was fair and honest. Will remember this next time I am looking.
Very friendly and took time to educate a novice. Will definitely return.
