While building our retirement home proved to be quite the challenging process, the office staff at Weston Dean were nothing short of amazing. Now that weve finally settled in our Weston Dean home I thought it would be a good time to share an honest, no longer angry, review.If I ever needed to build a custom home again, I would stay far far away from Weston Dean. The entire process was messy and stressful. The quality of the home is good, however, there are many home builders who build quality homes. I could likely write an entire novel about what went wrong but just be cautious!Ill share a few of my personal experiences below.Realize a contract does not mean prices will be even in the ballpark of what you are agreeing to. The contract is basically a suggestion and you will go WELL above and beyond what you expect to pay for a home. Maybe your sales person will tell you this, ours did not. Excavation of your driveway, for example, will not be included in your contract and you will come out of pocket for this later. Set aside $40,000 - $50,000 cash for all the things that you will later find out are not included.You will need to check every change order for accuracy. I dont think the people within Weston Dean actually talk to each other so there will be a lot of back and forth verifying your changes AND the prices. Even after clarifying, there are still things that were messed up. Our fireplace ended up incorrect (it was going to be too big of a hassle/mess to fix afterwards so we just settled with the mistake).We have lived in our home TWO YEARS and we still have one open item for them to fix per the 1 year warranty walk through. They finished the initial stuff like 6-8 months after we moved in.Aside from all the stress of poor communication, delays, unexpected expenses, etc. our concrete floors though were the biggest piece where we saw the real lack of integrity from Weston Dean. They also must have been having things going on internally because during my 1 year build, I had 3 or 4 designers, several different project managers. Their internal turnover is very high.We opted not to do floors in our home, we wanted just the stained concrete. Because of poor communication (Im guessing), I dont think whoever did our floors was told that there would be nothing going on top (i.e. carpet or tile) because he/she basically left footprints across THE ENTIRE HOUSE. Its glorious honestly. And when we brought up this obviously massive mistake to Weston Dean they pointed to their contract where it says that there are going to be cracks and natural deviations in the concrete. Footprints are not a natural deviation of course and we confirmed this with experts but Weston Dean did not do the right thing and fix this problem, instead, they left us with floors that were covered in footprints throughout our entire house and tried to convince us this was normal. Obviously its not, weve seen other homes with concrete floors and there are no footprints. There are cracks, yes, white marks, yes, but zero footprints. Ive posted pictures and these are all over my entire house!We contacted a lawyer about this (she informed me they had 2 open lawsuits already at the time) and she explained that the costs to fight this would end up being so much money it would not be worth it for us. So, we just accepted it but ultimately, it proved to me that Weston Dean is not a company with real integrity. I would caution anyone from building with them.

They delivered our home on schedule and within the agreed budget, which is a testament to their efficiency and reliability.I cannot recommend Weston Dean highly enough. If you’re considering building a new home, you can trust them to provide not only a high-quality residence but also a wonderful building experience. Our home is a source of pride and joy, and we have Weston Dean to thank for that.

Weston Dean built my home in 2020. It’s hard to believe that much time has passed. We never saw any short cuts taken and were quite impressed to see the quality of workmanship taken. We got a quality home that we will be proud of for many years. This was our first time to build a custom home and the Weston Dean team was able to take what we had envisioned and translate that into reality. With the design process they use for building, the costs were transparent and we were able to work within our budgetary plans. Bryan and his team were superb. Consummate professionals in every aspect of our build. They took all of our ideas and never once tried to make us go in a direction or take a pre-determined set of plans and build something we really didnt want. The home they provided for us is the exact home we had dreamed of for years! They were very flexible with our schedule and were extremely good about communicating during every phase and letting us know when the more important decisions had to be made. They did an excellent job in setting expectations and in every case where there was a question about anything they did things in our favor! I would unequivocally recommend them and have recommended them to anyone looking to build a true custom home!!!

Dont want to pay their vendors. The desperate ones pennys on the dollar. They said there reason why is they are broke. Not the case.
