Herbert was very punctual and understanding. His crew led by Mario was outstanding and there were very hard working and efficient. We had some challenging weather which made painting outside difficult at times. They located structural issues in the flashing and repaired them extremely well. I couldn’t recommend them enough

Herbert was good to work with. Showed up on time, quick response and friendly. Received an estimate from Herbert to reframe sections of roof slope, remove concrete tile from the roof, and replace it was a metal roof. His estimate was fair and reasonable.

HH Construction did a fantastic work at our office in San Antonio, turning a kitchen into a server room, designing and installing a glass wall and repainting the whole place. Everything on time, on budget and with great quality.

Herbert came out and quickly assessed my situation and provided a comprehensive estimate that clearly detailed what work was to be done. When the crew showed up, they went over the proposed work with me and after confirming what was to be done they got started. The crew worked like a well oiled machine where they braced the area to be worked on and showed good safety practices. It took them the better part of the day to do the work and clean up but when they were done the area was repaired and it looked like there was never any damage. They did great work.

Our remodeled kitchen is the favorite room in our home! Herbert and his associates remodeled our antiquated 1976 kitchen and replaced the living room/den carpeting with porcelain tile, expanded the entryway from kitchen to den area, installed a sliding door leading to the laundry room (AISD kitchen designer said this couldnt be done), and revamped the ceiling. Very familiar with the construction methods used in our home, Herbert had extensive remodeling experience in our neighborhood. He and his men brought superb construction expertise and I never doubted their ability to solve some of the problems presented by our 43 year-old kitchen and living area. I especially appreciate the cabinetry workmanship, the expert execution of the tile work in back of the stove, the willingness to listen, repeatedly, to my concerns and measurement questions, and the skilled craftmanship performed by his team. A year and a half later its the small things that count for me. No chips in the cabinetrys paint and its so easy to clean! Herbert installed a unique butcher board top on the small island and it still generates positive comments from friends. The ceiling is so well lit that it turns a dreary day into a happy one. Herberts firm is about quality service at a fair price. Look at other remodelers but youll always have to worry about the caliber of the workers. Not these men! They are trustworthy and I had no qualms about giving them the key to the house while I was at work. I would not hesitate to use Herbert again for future remodeling work.

We hired Herberts company for a shower remodeling. He was quick to respond, came to the site personally and gave an itemized quote the very next day. There was some wait since they are in high demand, but no too long. The job was completed in a couple days. Professional, clean execution. We are very happy with the quality of the work. If some other project comes around, we will call Herbert again. Highly recommended!

Herbert H. Construction did an excellent job on our kitchen/dining remodeling project. Their crew were very professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They were timely and dependable arriving everyday by 8:30am and departing by 4:00pm, thus disruption to our daily activity was minimal and very manageable. As for the quality of their work; the tile work, quartz countertop installation and cabinet painting was excellent. They also removed a wall between our living room and dining room. They did an awesome job in matching the archway and paint colors to marry both rooms. We are extremely happy with our remodeling project and would recommend Herbert H. I contacted Herbert H. Construction to help make my bedroom more soundproof. He was never pushy or forced me into any decisions. My husband and I did a lot of research and had a failed method prior to going the remodeling route, so we were asking more questions than I imagine the average client did. The only reason for a star deduction was the fact that we were never fully given the products that were to be used despite us giving names of the products we were thinking about and doing research on. Once the project began we noticed the insulation was not the same R rating we agreed upon but the project manager, Mario, was very quick to rectify that and went a set further to ensure no other delays would be had and brought us a detailed list of products and work to be done. Upon that time we realized that the drywall we were asking for was not what we were getting but again, Mario was quick to make the fix, give us an updated price and work continued once he located the correct drywall. The workers, Joe (Jose) and Raymond took great care to make sure all areas were properly covered from front door to project. They were cleaning as they went and even asked if everything was good prior to leaving each day. Everyone was friendly and professional. They explained things when I asked questions and werent hunting for future jobs. The quality of work that was done was better than I expected. I would recommend this company.

We were very fortunate to have contracted with Herbert H. Construction for the renovation of our recently purchased home at the Del Webb community in San Antonio, TX. We worked through “Skype”, from our second home in New Mexico, with Herbert and his key contractors, to firm up our requirements document which included most areas of the interior of the home. We agreed with Herbert, to a contract with a detailed cost estimate and project requirements. Herbert’s professionalism, calm personality and clear concise communication minimized our stress during the significant renovation project.We were very impressed with the work completed, which was consistently high quality! His renovation staff and contractors were friendly, professional, and highly skilled in their respective trades. Herbert was closely involved in overseeing the project from start to finish and he was always accessible by us, either by phone and/or text. He kept his team on schedule, advised them of our concerns and quickly followed up with resolutions.In closing, being new to the area, our best decision was to utilize Herbert H. Construction for our renovation project. Herbert completed the project within the cost agreed to in the contract and within schedule. No hidden costs! We “highly” recommend Herbert Construction for all your building or remodeling projects!

Nice guy - but 180k quote for a small kitchen remodel is wayyy to highEdit: 1 star. Some more context here. Our kitchen is 130 square feet. We asked for 2 quotes. One to remove a load bearing wall (we had plans). The other for new cabinets and countertops. I was very clear I did not want (nor need) custom cabinets. The first quote came back and I said no we will not move forward. Two months later I get a second quote for 180k for the entire job. Let’s pretend it’s 50k to knock down a wall (it’s not) and your cabinets are 50k (full custom for our project was 18k) there is still 80k remaining. Unreal.Finally I was opted into his email campaign (i didn’t opt in) where it asked for this review so here you go.The quote was absurd. The other reviews/work looks good so take this w/a grain of salt. Just sharing my experience.

Herbert and his team were prompt, responsive, and professional from start to finish. They assisted me in repairing a section of flooring and they worked with me to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction. They are extremely reliable and I will use them again any time I need work done on my home.

After a few mistakes with other contractors, I sought Herbert who was very professional and experienced with remodeling our 70+ yr old house. He helped us rebuild our wall, level our floors and installed some doors for us. Great team, detail oriented and no hassle. My only regret is that I should have found him sooner. Herbert is the man! Mario and his crew did a phenomenal job repairing our Ipe deck of 20 years back to pristine condition. We had quite a bit of warping in one part of the deck, and they were able to salvage the existing wood in the repair and even bolster our hot tub with a more sturdy foundation. Herbert and his team were super responsive and kept us informed throughout the entire process. Cannot recommend them enough!

Herbert H. Construction is a top notch company that I am more then happy to hire for future projects. They painted the interior of our home and did a major remodeling of the kitchen. We have hired Herbert and his guys to do about 6 projects on our house over the past ten years. Our largest project was a complete kitchen remodel making a 12x15 kitchen with 7’ ceilings to a 15x25’ with 16’ vaulted ceilings. They totally transformed the house from a house built in the 70s to a contemporary design with a kitchen with all professional appliances and a 24x24” infra-red grill. No more misquote bites while grilling. They have remodeled the guest bath, enlarged the laundry room and added 7 skylights. Also they enlarged the deck to three times the size it was originally.You don’t see any bad comments because Herbert’s crew always does quality work, clean up every day so as not to leave stuff laying around and work hard while they are on the job. I don’t have to write this as they will always be in demand because of their quality workmanship, but I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate the work they have done.Many of my neighbors have also used Herbert and they are all as pleased as I am. In fact that is how I found him, through word of mouth from one of my neighbors. When they were working on my house, many times I would look up and someone from the neighborhood would be looking at what they were doing. Sooner or later they would be having a Herbert H. Construction truck at their house making some changes.

I’ve had many home repairs done over the last 25 years but this is the first time a construction crew was conscientious to sweep up the dust and debris from the job and remove all the boxes and trash. Mr Herbert was contacted and his response was immediate on a rainy day last year. Thanks to his quick response he was able to stop the leaky roof from causing more damage than I can imagine. He was able to fix the flashing in no time....I was a happy camper. Herbert and his crew were awesome. Herbert came out the same day I contacted him and had a detailed estimate to me within 48 hours.the scope of our renovation was replacing bathroom vanities, painting kitchen cabinets, new countertops, exterior work and installation of a garage door. He squeezed us in between a couple jobs he was already doing and enabled us to get our renovation done in time. They were punctual, they worked clean, and they even did some stuff that wasn’t part of the scope of work but did it”just because it was the right thing to do.” I would totally hire him for future jobs and highly recommend.

First time I tried reaching out to this company, the owner, Herbert, never showed up. I had driven 2 hours to meet with him and he didnt even have the decency and courtesy to call or text me, to tell me he could not make the appointment.When I called him, to ask why he was not there to meet me, he said, he did call me. It turned out he called someone elses phone number not mine.He reassured me he would not waste my time and he took his job serious. So, I set up another appointment to meet with him. This time he showed up and took measurements. However, I waited over 2 weeks, and he still had not sent estimates; so, I texted him and called to see if he had an estimate ready. He finally emailed me an estimate the following day, and in the email he stated if I had any questions to ask. So, I responded to his email with several questions.Its been over a month, and I have yet to hear back.... even after I sent him several emails and texts, and even made several calls to him.I know he is probably really busy, but thats no reason to not treat everyone with respect and value.Herbert, besides getting my hopes up and dashing them to the ground, you wasted my time, gas, and exhausted my patience.Response to Response:Nope, I definitely got the right business. And you not remembering tells me you are not attentive nor do you really care about your clients.You can remedy this situation, and get a favorable review, by remembering who I am, apologizing, and finishing what you started.
