I have thought for a long time that homeownership was something I wouldnt be able to achieve, but a friend told me about the NACA program. It has been the only thing Ive encountered that has allowed me to hope I could make this dream a reality. If youre willing to put in your share of the work, the program has many benefits (no down payment, a dedicated intake counselor to assist in the application process, a choice of realtors who have specific knowledge of the program, etc.). I have been very pleased with the process so far and I look forward to continuing down the path to homeownership, assisted by the kind, knowledgeable people in the NACA program.
🌟 **An Inspiring Journey with NACA!** 🌟I am thrilled to share my experience with NACA as I embark on my journey to homeownership! Currently in the qualifying stage of the program, I feel an overwhelming sense of hope and inspiration every step of the way. From the moment I joined, the support and guidance provided by the NACA team have been nothing short of exceptional. They truly care about helping individuals achieve their dreams of homeownership, and it shows in everything they do. The resources available and the community of members are incredibly motivating, especially hearing the success stories of others who have successfully purchased their homes.I am particularly grateful for the comprehensive education and tools NACA offers, which have made me feel more informed and confident about the home-buying process. I can already envision myself in my new home, and I believe that with NACA’s support, I will be realizing that dream by this summer! If you’re considering taking this path to homeownership, I wholeheartedly recommend NACA. Their dedication to empowering individuals and families is truly inspiring, and I’m excited to see where this journey leads me!Thank you, NACA, for making dreams come true! 🙌🏡❤️
Receiving a call, for interview because I took time to finish up the application was a blessing in disguise. Beyond thankful!Jenna who called me for the intake appointment to Kim, for handling my intake process with such ease and care. I did my research before hand, I was recommended years ago, and now I’m one step closer to becoming a homeowner. If I can do it you can do it too, it’s a very welcoming experience more than anything putting all your financial needs in order! Please consider it, looking forward!!
I am so excited after meeting with my counselor. My counselor went above and beyond expectations. She was informative, resourceful and very supportive with the willingness to help. She has guided me through every step and makes the NACA experience joyful and with a positive outlook to the final results. I am grateful to see what the future holds!
NACA is an excellent nonprofit that helps make homeownership affordable for low- and moderate-income individuals. With no down payment, no closing costs, and below-market interest rates, it’s a fantastic option for first-time buyers. NACA also provides valuable financial counseling to set buyers up for long-term success. My counselor, Stephanie Castro was fantastic! While the process can take time, the benefits are well worth the effort, offering a path to homeownership that’s more accessible than traditional loans. If you’re patient and committed, NACA can be a game-changer for achieving your homeownership goals.
I attended a workshop in February. Sebastian was very informative and kept the workshop entertaining. I am currently working with counselor Sergio. Although I am not very far into the process, he has been very helpful and attentive. I am looking forward to working with him and this program.
Currently working on securing a loan with the help of my NACA Counselor Kevin. I chose NACA in the beginning for the favorable terms like no required down payment or PMI even available for non-priority purchasers like my family. What Ive learned is that this is an entity with a rich history in working towards economic equity. NACA has a requirement that all members participate in various outreach initiatives and maintain their political awareness. It is comforting to be involved with a organization that understands that the purchase of a home involves more than an individuals credit worthiness and income but a holistic process that requires homebuyers to weave themselves into the community they wish to enter.
We are so happy we are going through NACA to purchase our first home. This program is incredible and offers so many benefits. From the priority interest rate, to the fact that base their approval off of your ability to budget and not your credit score means this is truly an equitable program. Thank you NACA!
We are going through the process to purchase a home through NACA- qualified and now active under contract. The process to getting qualified is detailed but straightforward. We are so grateful this program with incredible benefits exists, it is allowing us to actually become home buyers, something we felt would be SO difficult. Thank you NACA!
We are currently working with NACA to obtain an affordable mortgage. NACA is guiding us through the process and helping us save money. There is work on your end that you need to comply with but it is well worth the effort you will put into it! I recommend to be patient during the process. We are excited and looking forward to owning our home soon
Have started the process of applying for a best in class NACA mortgage. Went to the home buyers workshop, where I was given a lot of information and learned about the mission of NACA, which is so awesome and admirable. Started working with Angelina and so far the process has been smooth, with some work on both our parts to get all the statements and paperwork needed. You can get a 1% below market mortgage rate, no closing costs, no down payment, and no private mortgage insurance! I thought at first this is too good to be true, but so far so good and looks like an amazing program that Im proud to be apart of.
Currently going through the process and I highly recommend NACA for anyone looking for an affordable mortgage. The loan counselor I am working with is incredibly helpful throughout the process so far!. Providing clear upfront guidance and support, making what can be a daunting experience manageable.
I cant recommend NACA highly enough for anyone looking for an affordable mortgage. Their team is incredibly helpful throughout the process so far!. They are providing clear guidance and support, making what could have been a daunting experience straightforward and manageable. If youre in the market for a mortgage, look no further than NACA!
We are currently working with NACA.Sebastian is helping US a lot in order to get pre approved he has been patience and very professional. Our experience with NACA has been great so far. I will recommend it a lot to whoever is looking for a lowest interest rate and for mortgage ETC.
My husband and I have been trying to purchase a home for years, and for one reason or another we havent been able. Weve been working with Antonio, and he has been great at guiding us through NACAs homebuyer purchase program. With NACA and Antonios help, we will finally be able to secure a home for our family.
My wife and I have been working with NACA in getting our first house and it has been quite the experience. Our counselors have been more than accommodating and educating us along the way. We will definitely recommend our friends and family to consider NACA first when looking to get their homes. We cant wait to have our process move forward and get our home!
I attended the NACA first time home buyers workshop in San Antonio today. When I first heard about the program I definitely thought it was too good to be true, but after attending the workshop I must say buying a home for the first time feels so much more hopeful. Sebastian was a great presenter today and the rest of the NACA team and volunteers were pleasant and knowledgeable concerning the subjects they presented.
I attended my first information session in 2021 but wasnt ready to move forward. I attended another this year to begin the process. It was very informative and helpful. The workshop facilitator was a very good presenter, patient, easy going, explained things well and answered all questions. The other NACA workshop staff at the event were also very helpful. This mandatory workshop is a benefit because it makes the process clear.
This is a really great program, I am currently in the qualification process and they make it very easy and always are willing to help you. I am very excited to start my home buying process!
I have been working with NACA for 4 years now; on and off. I am always told my file looks great and the funds needed are there. Yet getting qualified is still a long process. NACA is a great program for first time homebuyers which is why I’ve stuck around. The 3 star rating is more for the non profit as a whole. I believe I haven’t been qualified because of the high turn over rate of counselors. In the 4 years I’ve worked with so many different counselors and realtors. They quit and I have to start the file review again with someone new. These counselors are overwhelmed, over worked, understaffed, surely underpaid. Would be nice to see a non-profit treat its employees better. I too, have worked for a non- profit and understand distribution of funds but there has to be something going on to have such a high turn over rate in the work place. I truly hope this year will be my year with one counselor to finally get qualified. Will update my review soon!
The process to achieving NACA and bank qualification is challenging. You need to be detailed orientated when submitting your documents. If your finances are in order and you are patient then the process can be completed in a few months. The qualification process is rigorous and requires you to be financially responsible. A high credit score is not required. However, they will check your credit to see that you do not have any late payments within the last 12 months. You will need 12 months of proof that you are financially responsible to qualify.
Working with NACA is a better option than traditional lenders because they make you take a serious look at your finances. Ive spent the past year looking getting a home in Austin and the past few months working with NACA has led to me to make a better financial decision in regards to home buying.
My NACA counselor was very insightful, informative, and helpful. As a first time homebuyer, my counselor was patient and avaiable to answer any questions and concerns when they came up. In addition, he provided me valuable insight into the homebuying process. NACA is a rigorous process which was described to me before hand. My counselor was upfront about this which help me stay ahead of the paperwork. I would definitely recommend this program to any first time homebuyer.
Me and my husband have Sebastian Jackson as our counselor, he communicates, very understanding, wanted the best for us and responsive. He has been very helpful with guiding us through this process, currently finishing our action plan and can’t wait to start the home searching process. If you plan on doing this program we highly recommend paying attention to all the details, the process is very tedious.
This is my first time purchasing a home in over 20 years. I learned about NACA through my daughter and was particularly drawn to the low interest rates and zero down payment. Gathering all the documents and completing the application is a very detailed process. Thankfully, I had a patient counselor. I just had my application summitted and am excited for what the future holds. Ill be sure to update this post as we move through the process.
My husband and I have been working with NACA since January 2022 and so far the process has been moving quickly and smoothly. Our mortgage counselor is actually super responsive and gives us clarity on whatever we need help with. In this insane market it can be daunting trying to purchase a home but we love that NACA holds your hand throughout the process! I’ve already recommended to several people!
My husband and I have been wanting to purchase a house for years now. However, it is very difficult to purchase a home. The Lord had guide me to the NACA program. The process has been moving quickly and smoothly. Our mortgage counselor is actually super responsive and gives us clarity on whatever we need help with. In this insane market it can be daunting trying to purchase a home but we love that NACA holds your hand throughout the process! I’ve already recommended to several people!
NACA makes the home buying process easy. I have been lucky to work with LaRetta in the San Antonio office who is helping me navigate the process. With no down payment, no closing cost, no points, and great interest rates, its a wonder program for everyone.
We are first time home buyers and our NACA counseling has been extremely helpful and helping us get prepared. Especially in this fast paced market. Have not completed the process yet but the program so far has been great.
I started working with NACA and so far it has been such a positive experience. The organization does such a great job at understanding your finances, your mortgage goals, and provide assistance to ensure the approval process is a smooth one. I am very excited for the opportunity to own a home and to have NACA supporting me throughout the process.
My daughter told me about NACA and I could not believe all of the great benefits she talked about so i had to check it out for myself. I am glad i did. My wife and i have been working with NACA for our next home and it has been well worth it. The support you get to walk you through the process is excellent. The benefits NACA offers are fantastic and I wish more people knew about it.
My NACA counselor Natashia Acosta has been a tremendous help. She is patient, understanding and knowledgeable. She truly is making the process fulfilling.
The benefits are good and its great for 1st time homebuyers. However, what I am not a fan of is being asked for my personal documents, social and I am not the one going through the process of buying a home, my mom is. Since we live together now, NACA required for my credit to be ran as well.
We started the program back in March 2022. Today, June 14,2022. We had our meeting with our counselor. She was so nice and informative. I am so excited to get this going further. Yes, it takes time and patience to go through this program, but it’s so worth having the patience. I am blessed to recommended by my friend/realtor. I was seriously thinking we would not ever be able to have a home to call our own! I definitely recommend going this direction and becoming a NACA member!!
Yay....it is finally happening the dream of becoming a homebuyer! I decided to partner up with NACA as a first time home buyer because of the support that is provides along the way, the financial assistance provided, low interet rates, and being able to have a counselor available to help breakdown the information has been very helpful. This program has also motivated me to better manage my finances. I look forward to completing the process and share a testimony for others.
So far so good.I’m very excited about starting my journey to homeownership. I started this program to be an example to my daughters that even as a single mother of three you can achieve anything you put your mind to. I can’t wait to see their faces when I show them our new home!
Attended home buyer workshop in November 2020, ATD in March 2021, and had my first official intake appointment in April 2021. Each counselor Ive met with is professional, thorough, and has addressed every question and concern Ive raised with the program. Only issue Ive encountered is the time between appointments. Overall, I think the NACA purchase program is not only a great way to obtain an affordable mortgage, but one thing many lenders will not -- ensure potential owners are truly ready to assume the responsibility of homeownership. Highly recommend.
My experience with NACA has been amazing thus far. I have a wonderful MC guiding me through the process and I feel extremely grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this program. No need for a certain credit range, no down payment or closing costs, no PMI, lower than market interest rates. This program is great for many people who would not be able to afford a home otherwise.
The NACA program is a great program for first time homebuyers. If you are looking for a competent lender and realtor. I highly suggest that you choose NACA.
The process to achieving NACA qualification and bank qualification can be laborious, but it is definitely worth the investment of time and energy. If you are someone who has their finances situated appropriately then the process can actually be completed in probably 1.5-2 months. The qualification process is rigorous and requires you to be financially responsible. If you do not fall into that category, this program may not be suited to your needs as you will need 12 months of proof that you are financially responsible.
Started with NACA January 21st and the process has been smooth sailing so far! I have been saving more thanks to their action plan and am a lot more prepared for homeownership than I was prior to the workshop/intake. The process can be long for some but NACA truly makes sure you can AFFORD the home you want so you’re not house poor. I would recommend this program to any first time homebuyers for sure.
I heard about NACA from friend.he knew of someone close to him who actually became a home through this program. We are trying to find our dream home. Our counselor Antonino is helping us hopefully we will find soon. The program is great because it helps make homes more affordable for people like me who may not make as much as money.Thank you. NACA
Im in the beginning stages of the program, my intake is scheduled soon. Im cautiously optimistic but fully support the mission of this organization. Looking forward to working with the San Antonio office and will hopefully be a homeowner by the end of the year! From what Ive read, NACA sets homeowners up for success.I wanted to update my review. I was qualified in November 2020 and have been in the housing search phase since. My first MC left the company and was replaced with another from the Houston office. My experience with George has been great so far. Hes quick to respond, and I mean quick! Its a breath of fresh air compared to the difficulties I had early on. Im still hopeful I find my home soon, and plan to update this review once again as soon as I close.
I started with the NACA process in November 2021. Its been nearly 7 months and I still dont know if I qualify..My counselor is experienced with NACA. Which makes me bewildered when I experience confusion and disarray from the counselor regarding the NACA requirements and documentation (I have repeatedly submitted the same documentation)..Im upset with myself because if I had gone the conventional loan route, I would have had a lower interest rate now that rates have gone up..If you qualify for a conventional loan or USDA, do it now before the rates go up..I see that someone had a good rate with Navy Federal. Ill be reaching out to them and others before rates get any higher..
Sebastian is our loan counselor. He is guiding us through the process for NACA qualification. He is responsive and developed our action plan.
I have started my journey with Naca and hoping to achieve my dream home. I am so excited. Naca is a great program and l highly recommend to choose Naca.
I just started the process here at NACA. It’s time consuming to gather all the documents being requested but so far so good. No down payment is needed but you should still prepare for other costs. The only downside I see so far is how non-priority members can’t get housing just anywhere. However I am still going through with this. Amanda Chicago is our counselor and I think she does a great job at it. I feel better after taking to her. She seems to know her stuff and cares to help. Thank you so much 🤗
My husband and I started the process last August. That is the beauty of it. You can go as slow or as fast as you want. They are not just in the business of mortgages but helping you with your finances. Before NACA we would ask for help from a mortgage company and all they would wan to do is run our credit and then they would never want to talk to us again. NACA is here to help us get to that point of qualification. This is all on top of the no closing costs, no PMI, no down payment. We will be ready this coming January to buy our dream home.Update: at the end of our process NACA pulled all funding and approval from us even though we where qualifying and had superb credit. It seems like they pick and choose who they want to help.
I am really grateful for NACA. I took the NACA homebuyers workshop on January 2022 and hopefully I will close on a home soon. I had no idea what I was doing when I first started looking for a home but thanks to NACA, I have learned plenty about the home buying process. I am glad that my mortgage counselor has been very helpful and patient!
NACA has been very professional and knowledgeable. The Counselors have all been very helpful and extremely courteous. Even with the high demand they have been able to meet all our needs. I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a home l, but I highly recommend to any first time home buyers.
Ive been working with NACA for about 6 months now working on my credit & to address issues that would normally bring down my chances at qualifying for a mortgage. Theyve been very helpful in explaining what I need to focus on. Its alot of work, but at least youre not alone in this process especially if youre a first time homebuyer.
Id like to mention that my NACA experience thus far has been great. My Counselor is very knowledgable, patient, thorough and professional. Enjoy working with here and believe that I will be able to purchase my own home in 2022. Thank you NACA for this program.
I started my journey with this company 2 years ago at that time I felt I was not ready to go through this home buying process so I backed out.I know now that was a big mistake. I started my process up with them again in April 2020 and they have been a wonderful help getting us an approval to buy our first home. My family and I are grateful for all their help and knowledge they are able to provide to our family. Not only will we be able to qualify to purchase a home during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will also be able to do that without a credit score and with a lower APR rate then we could ever imagine. The NACA program has been a blessing to my family.
NACA is a wonderful non-profit organization focused on changing the world of mortgage lending by winding the pool of borrower. The process might be longer than with traditionally mortgages for some but councilors are patient and work with you to get you in a home with an excellent mortgage. I encourage you to research them and see for yourself how they are making the world a better place.
NACA has been understanding and patient in assisting me in the process of purchasing a home. I am thankful to have a knowledgeable counselor who is making the process smooth and enjoyable.
I recently started NACA process. I did my second counseling session. My counselor is Amy W and she is working hard to help me get through this long process. I believe,I’m close to be NACA qualified and I recommend everyone wants to buy house to try!
I’ve been working with a counselor at NACA for a few months (4) and my experience has been great so far. Amanda is my counselor and she’s great, very responsive and knowledgeable. It’s super awkward having someone look at your finances but she made me feel comfortable and didn’t make me feel judged. The process while although takes a lot of uploading of documents, it’s all part of it since you’re trying to buy a home, so I don’t mind. But it’s also opened my eyes to be more organized than I already thought I was.I am grateful for my experience thus far and haven’t had any issues or complaints.
NACA is the best mortgage company out there. I strongly recommend them. No closing cost, no down payment, and great rates. The process can be a little overwhelming but it will be worth it. Im super thankful for this program without it homeownership would be impossible.
I have a great counselor at NACA (Rebecca) who has helped me get qualified for the amount I need for the house of my dreams. Patience is needed when going through the process of home ownership and through the process to get NACA qualified. It has not been a fast process for me and my initial approval was super low considering my finances, but Rebecca went to bat for me and helped me get re-approved for a more realistic amount. I look forward to the blessing of having this super low interest rate for the life of my loan!
Current going through the process to qualify. The whole team gives nothing but clear and transparent communication with no judgement. They actually want to help you! I have been telling everyone I know to go through this program to buy house. At least 2 people I know have already started and they are having the same experience as me.
I heard about NACA through word of mouth and decided to attend a workshop. After the workshop I was excited to start the process towards homeownership. The staff is nice and helpful. Your one on one with your mortgage counselor is insightful and they guide you every step of the way. You do have to be proactive and serious, there are a lot of documents that need to be submitted. As long as you stay on top it you will move along. It’s only been a few weeks and I’m well on way towards becoming qualified and will soon start looking at houses. I would recommend this program to new and future homeowners.
NACA is an awesome program. No closing cost, No down Payment, No Mortgage Insurance , No minimum Credit Scores and Low market Interest rates. There is no program like it. The Process is lengthy, but in the end you will realize the American Dream of being a Homeowner.
I have been working with NACA for a few months already, and so far process has been going great, I have asked as many questions as Ive thought about and they have always been answered very quickly. The counselor I am working with has made this process very smooth and she has been very helpful. I am grateful for the opportunity for them to work with me through this process.
The NACA program has informed us about the mortgage process every step of the way. Their kind staff has been very patient with us, and explained everything in very good detail, about what we need in order to be qualified. I recommend to be very patient, since it is a long process, but it is all worth it for a great home.
I had an issue with my counselor with the NACA office in San Antonio but the office manager had the counselor to take another look into my file to complete for submission to underwriters. I wrote this review 6 months ago and with great regret Im still waiting for submission of my file. Ive had 3 counselors and my file has been sent to Houston Office. I just want a pre qualify and a home its been since August of 2019 and still waiting.
My husband and I were reffered NACA by our parents, who had previously purchase a home through NACA as well. We have been working with David and he is a very good counselor. It is a long process, however we are almost to the finish line and are very excited and cant wait to get approved for our home!
Working with NACA has been a hopeful experience, My counselor is very understanding and patient. The counselor explains everything in detail. NACA works with you every step and ensures and guides you to become qualified.
Updated review-I am highly disappointed with the NACA program. Not only Have I not had any appointments within the last two months. My counselor quit the office manager has not called me back has not set up any appointments I have to keep giving documents that I’ve already provided I have not moved past step 4 because of NACA, not doing their part. I have everything done on my end and I think that purchasing a home on my own the traditional way would have been better process than starting this NACA process. From my current experience I would not recommend going with NACA.-———————NACA program is a great program for any first time buyer. David has been great with answering all my questions (no matter much detail I ask for). I look forward to continuing on with the program and become a homeowner.
My wife and I have been working with NACA for a couple years and have been saving for the past couple years. We finally have what we need to start looking for a house. This is a very detail oriented program, they do need alot of information including bank records and paystubs, debt collection. They need all of it so they can be straight with you about what you can afford now, and what you can afford later when and if stuff begins to get more expensive. But through all of that the program is very worth it. We are still going through the program, we havent yet actually gotten a house or found one we want just yet. But we are looking and waiting patiently.
Very sad that people like Danny would rate a company that has helped so many for his own personal financial gain. I dont know where Id be if it hadnt been for NACA. I purchased my home in 2011 at 3.03 percent interest rate and paying less on a huge four bedroom home than I would have been paying, living in an apartment. As a single mom I never would have believed that this was possible. Trust me, Ive gone through conventional financing before. In comparison, there are no more hoops in going this route. If you have less than perfect credit but are on the road to recovering, this is a wonderful option. Not only did I learn about interest and its ramifications, I learned how to save in the process. I was blessed to find this program and because of the financial education that I also received through this program I am praying to pay off my home way before the original 30 year loan. Also need to mention that from start to finish, the process took under six months. NACA has no financial gain to keep you running around in circles as a consumer. As with any home transaction, no one sees a dime until the deal is closed. Why did you fail to mention Danny that NACA is a nonprofit organization??? Check your information before leaving negative feedback. Best wishes to all that are trying to better their lives.
I believe this is one of the best programs that is available to help people achieve the dream of home ownership. The requirements are very reasonable and the counselors are really there to help you. My experience has been great and Im looking forward to getting into my new home under the program.
We had a great experience buying our home through NACA. Our counselor was very helpful and kind. It was a tedious process at times and you have to put in the effort, but in the end, it was totally worth it.
NACA came along at a time when I wasnt sure about what step to take next for my son and I. As soon as I took the initial class, I felt lucky to find a program that would help me own my first home. I am now at the tail end of the process, and excited to start looking for my dream home! It has been a good experience, and if you need the guidance, and motivation then definitely inquire about this program.
NACA has been great to work with and we are working on getting our dream home. We are still in the process and so far so good. The support we have received makes us feel like we have all the help we need. We are looking forward to completing the process.
I had had a very bad experience. Was about to finish the process to start with the process on purchasing the house then suddenly they changed my counselor but the hardest part was when new counselor was very rude and demanding he didn’t allowed me to talk. And dont agree with naca on start my process all over again! Also requested to change my counselor and until today haven’t heard from them is been over a year since this happen. Very disappointed!
Working with NACA so far has been great! This is a great organization that looks out for the average person. All of the individuals that I have spoken to have been very helpful. I look forward to being part of the NACA family!
We are currently working with NACA to obtain an affordable mortgage. NACA is guiding us through the process and helping us save money. We are learning more about our credit and how to utilize it.
The San Antonio office specifically my Mortgage Counselor Amanda have been so helpful. Really thorough, walked me through everything step-by-step, willing to explain, and answer my million questions. Home ownership seemed impossible until I started to really pursue this goal and working with Amanda at NACA makes it seem possible.
My friend told me about the NACA program and I made the decision to do it and I think it is the best decision I have ever made. They offer you the best interest rate of all the banks.
My wife and I are going through NACA for our first home. This organization has truly made this experience better than we could have imagined. Thank you NACA for all that you have done for us.
It has been a great experience working with the NACA team. I must admit, due to my financial situation it has been a process. The process is necessary because it helps you become financial stable, fix your debt and also they help with raising your credit score.
My husband & I started the process at the end of last month. We understood that this wasnt going to a quick process. But NACAs way would help us understand/see what we can afford for our family. It is alot of paper work to turn in, but we see it as Its worth it in the long run. Before hearing about NACA we went to another first time home buyers city mortgage loaner. We applied and was told what we qualify for and to get with a real estate agent and go from there. We did and were confuse, not once did they call to see where we were at in the house hunting. We went 3 weeks without hearing from them. An associate of mine and mention Naca and how it works. So we did our research and decided to attend a meeting and here we are. Our goal to be approved by next year.
The NACA program is a Great opportunity to purchase a home with low interest rates, no closing cost, and no PMI. The program allows you to purchase a home or a multifamily unit. They give you multiple options to purchase an existing home, or a new build. There is work on your end that you need to comply with but it is well worth the effort you will put into it! I recommend to be patient during the process but dont give up!
Naca has been as advertised. Our counselor was straight forward and supportive. The process is simple. Tedious. But certainly simple enough to follow without losing sight of the goal. I look forward to closing and would recommend Naca to anyone.
Started process on January 2017 and have already being “approved” to submit paperwork to underwriter.April 5th-The financial counselor was fired and now they already moved my appointment twice, because my case is unassigned. Now I will go by regular FHA because my lease is ending.(online mortgage company)Lost around three good houses, time & money for NACA bad practices.($38 NACA fee)(4months lost!)If this is your only option then it might be worth to go by the process, if not then just do FHA get to 20% equity ASAP and remove PMI.Gilberto. 2031716
While I do believe in the mission NACA is pursuing I do think the process is quite frustrating. While on the call with my advisor hes telling me Im missing documents etc. and to upload them, no problem, except theres no actual place in the portal to upload so I had to email it to him. I tried to get as much done ahead of time as possible to avoid any headaches, but regardless of how much I prepared I was still in for headaches. So far the process hasnt deterred me or given me the sense of giving up, but I wish I wouldve known ahead of time the miscellaneous documents I would need such as IRS transcripts (no where in my portal it said I wouldve needed them).
The NACA home buyers program is a a great program. The program is not only making my dream come true of becoming a home owner it also instilled financial discipline along the the way. I now have the tools and knowledge of home ownership. I recommend this program to all upcoming and future homeowners.Thank you NACA...
NACA has been great to work with. The process to getting approved has been smooth so far.Its mostly on you the home buyer to make sure you have everything in order, so its some work on the front end, but its all worth it in the end!
I started with the home process in November of 2019 , I had a great counselor named Crystal who left the company which forced me to get a new counselor named Traci Chacon he is horrible! My file has been ready to be sent to the underwriter since August 2020 and he never submits my file . He is always giving me the run around making me feel discouraged about this program. I have reached out to the manager and regional manager in San Antonio and still no word from anyone. I have been calling my counselor and sending him emails left and right . I have had plenty of web calls with NACA with no luck . I don’t know what to do next . I am so frustrated.
The experience has been excellent.Alecia ..was very througly with information and guidance...She answered any questions I had....I have been in NACA workshops before Covid and I have referred to several of my friends..I also have known people who have benefited from the NACA program . I am looking forward not only to benefit from the program but also to be part of NACA and be able to contribute..therefore other people will benefit as I have.
I had my intake appointment as scheduled and as a first time homebuyer I was super nervous and scared, but I was definitely blessed with a positive and enthusiastic counselor. She was very thorough and encouraging! I feel very comfortable moving forward with the process. I hope to be able to come back at the end of my journey and add the fifth star.
I found out about NACA after searching lots of different places. We have been with NACA for a few months and thankfully will be home owners soon. We are very thankful to NACA for helping us accomplish this huge milestone.
We started working with NACA, a few months ago, my counselor is very informative and helpful. We are excited and looking forward to owning our home soon
Been working with NACA for 11 months now through COVID and although the process has been lengthy and drawn out, I am happy to say I am finally at the end and have been submitted to underwriting. My counselor has been working hard to push my file along and hopefully we wont have any more hiccups.
I went through the process in this office about 5 years ago. There are good counselor but they are understaffed so things will take a long time. You need patience. Do your own due diligence with the HAND department. There a things they miss a first time home buyer may not know to look out for.
My counselor Lori is amazing. We had a great first meeting. I am looking forward to owning a home in the near future.
Extremely unprofessional, unorganized and unmotivated. I got strung along for almost a year. Had one counselor who was great, left NACA and I was never notified. Stayed in limbo for months and then after pestering I was assigned a new councelor who was absolutely terrible. Even though I had turned in everything that was asked of me from before I had to do it all over, multiple times since it seemed they couldn’t keep track of my file. For my first “meeting” with this new councelor, I took off of work and she completely forgot about me. That literally sums up how dealings with NACA went. When all of my paperwork was in and I was ready to go to underwriting she literally for got to submit it and left for a week for a program in Houston, let brand new client files stack up on top of mIne and then told me I would have to wait in line again.. She was always apologizing and rarely ever performing her job. I would have to constantly call the office since my counselor was unresponsive to most of my emails. Even the front desk attendant knew my name from caller ID and took pity on me and tried to light a fire under my councelor. I even contacted the supervisor of the location a few times to no avail. I madd it to the point where I was “NACA qualified” and they even messed up there! I was told I’d be qualified for a certain amount and then saw it was for over $50k less! So patiently waited for them to review their numbers (which were grossly incorrect). Mind you I had saved well over 10% of the (correct) maximum qualified amount. I used one of NACAs agents in hopes I would finally have an advocate since I was so close but even she recommended for me to consider another program. When I didn’t even hear back from the regional supervisor I knew it was time to walk away from this program. I missed out on MANY opportunities through this program including a first responder home buyer assistance program, and am currently buying in a stricter lending environment. Im currently using Navy Federal and it has been a streamline experience! NO PMI and interest rate is the same as what nacas would have been! You think your saving with naca but they make you pay in precious time, energy and opportunity. Dont walk..RUN from this program!I’m not one to ever complain or leave a bad review but I pray this saves someone like me from the headache this program brings.
I have been working with NACA to get my home loan approved. They have been great in their support and willingness to help me and my family get into a home in this crazy home market.
Naca has given me the opportunity no other program has. That is the chance of homeownership. Being a disabled individual with low fixed income poses major obstacles on the path of traditional home buying. Naca has been a Godsend for people like myself. They offer the lowest interest rates and really educate you on the homeownership process. I encourage anyone seeking to become a homeowner to learn more about Naca.
I am Really thankful for Naca. They are very knowledgeable and demonstrate so much patience with first time home owners. Overall it been a good decisions to go the Naca way .
Came to the workshop today where Sébastien Jackson was the presenter and he was amazing. Everything was explained well and he answered all questions asked of him. Would definitely recommend this program.
NACA has been the best option for me for buying a home. Everyone that had helped me has been very kind and very informative. They let you know everything you need to purchase a home without any unwanted surprises.
NACA has been a game and life changing experience. With step by step process and setting minimum goals to get you into your very own home! I recommend getting onto the program . Save time and hassle and Money !!!!
I am just starting out on my NACA journey and judging by what I have learned so far this is a great program. No down payment, no closing costs, no PMI and below market interest rates. I wish I had learned about this organization years ago!
NACA is definitely an answered prayer for me and my family. We have been denied over and over again by banks because of my credit score even though my credit history has been good for the past few years. Because of NACA we are hoping to be in our new home by the end of the year! Thank you NACA
My counselor Sebastian has been very helpful thus far. Had a great first meeting. Still ongoing, and I look foward to owning a home.
BS. Constant runaround in 2009 at the Oakland California office. Each case worker has hundreds, maybe more of clients and cant even think about keeping up or any sense of follow up.1-14-2021 update: I’m moving my star rating from 1 to 3, as after much deliberation, my wife suggested we give the San Antonio NACA a try since we have been here since 2014. I just called in today and was told appointments are scarce due to staffing and first one not available until May. I get it - COVID. I was given an email to reach out to.We’ll see if NACA San Antonio can earn the 5 stars or if they drop back down to 1.I’ll keep you updated
Fantastic nationwide housing advocacy group! I highly recommend everyone purchasing a home look into the services that NACA provides. You CAN be a home owner!!!
Started the home buying process a few months ago. Our counselor has been very helpful and supportive to us. Looking forward to completing this process and owning our home
Naca is the best mortgage company out there If you are a first time homebuyer I strongly recommend Naca.No closing cost , no down payment, what can you ask . Great in house real estate agents. Antonio Coronado and Esthela Rosales are exceptional.
I was excited to begin the home ownership process through NACA after having been recommended and attending 2 in person workshops (pre-Covid) and 1 virtual in August 2020. I had my 1st intake with Nicole Rios in September. Everything was great including my payment shock. Needed to provide a letter from a creditor for an old paid closed account. No problem. Scheduled next meeting for October. Information was provided. Meeting date comes, no meeting. I got in contact with her the next day, she didn’t “officially” schedule the meeting and says that she is swamped because she became the only counselor in San Antonio after another counselor left the company. Meeting scheduled and confirmed on NACA’s calendar for November. Once again, Nicole Rios is a no show for that appointment. After emailing the regional manager in December, I hear from Nicole, but wasn’t prepared for anything. Mind you, I’ve continued to update my web file each month. She says we will schedule in 3 weeks (this would have been right at Christmas time), but the appointment she gave me was at the end of January. January date comes, I had to reach out to the local office for confirmation that she would attend. She was 10 minutes late, only to tell me she was working on my file, which was line by line. Okay fine. That call lasted 40 seconds. Yes, 40 seconds. I call back about an hour or so later, no answer, but she did call back. This time I get more detail. She’s working on the last 3 months bank statements line by line, which takes 2-3 days to complete, had submitted a request for verification of employment, was sending my file for qualification, and would send me an email in a few days. Oh okay, now we’re getting somewhere and I’m excited again. As of the date of this writing in March, I am still waiting for that email. Here’s where I began to get really annoyed with Nicole Rios. I call her 2 weeks after we last spoke for the information she would have put in the email. She tells me the exact same thing 2 weeks prior, then tells me she received an email from the company that 2018 tax returns cannot be used. Okay, I gotcha. So I went ahead and prepared my tax return for 2020 and uploaded it with my W2 and emailed her, as she requested, and I cutthroat regional manager. No what Nicole Rios. Late February, I reach out to her again. After the Texas storm passes. Now she gives me the excuse of being out sick that she gave me for not meeting with me in November. I’ve reached out to the manager at the local office and she has yet to return my call, and won’t speak to me when she’s available, but tells the customer service rep that she is working on getting me a new counselor. To date, I still haven’t heard from her, but they had the audacity to schedule my next appointment for July. Really!!! Where is the professionalism, courtesy, and accountability with the staff in this organization. You’re supposed to be an advocate for people, but instead you BS people. I’m trying my best to be patient because I believe in the program because it has helped people that I know personally and it works to my advantage, but there are some people that feel they have a right to take advantage of you and that you are at their mercy.
I heard of NACA in a Facebook group, and took a deep dive into the program. I’m so glad that I did because now my husband and I are on the path of buying our first home.
Just attended a naca presentation. I am completely blown away at the opportunity for home ownership that this program offers to people who may not qualify for a traditional mortgage! My husband & I are so excited to get started!
NACA has been a truly remarkable experience; I tend to be skeptical about programs claiming to be interested in helping people just for the sake of doing so. My first thoughts were that this program is to good to be true, that hasnt proven to be the case though.
The NACA program may be able to provide something we didnt think was possible. My family and I are looking forward to the continued process of looking for a home with NACAs help.
Its been a great pleasure work with naca orhanizatio.Ms Janna has been great helping with all the paper work.Mr Jackson has been great he helping with all traction guiding me with all the documents.Miguel JimeneMM
I heard so much about the program, and the main thing was that if you have the time and the patience this was the best way to get a house. Them train you and get you prepared to be a first time homeowner. I have both time and patience, so my journey has begun. Lets go.
Working with David at the San Antonio office has been great. He has been quick to respond to questions and has been very helpful throughout this process. We are close to starting the approval process and hope to start looking for a house early next year! I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a house.
In a realtor myself and Im proud to say that this program works. My husband and I bought the house of our dreams without a 20% down payment, a fin rate of 1.8% and no PMI through Bank of América. Yes, it is a lot of work but which loan doesnt. Thanks NACA for helping pepple making their dreams come true.
NACA is good resource for first time home buyers and for homeowners that may want to refinance their home loan
NACA is great program that has really helped my family. Theyre employees are super nice and friendly. I recommend others to go to this corporation and buy the house of their dreams.
Started the NACA process in December 2017. Looking forward to continuing the process and getting a home for my family in the next few months. No down payment...no closing totally awesome for middle class family!!!!
Tracy in the San Antonio office is professional and patient. He is responsive and invested in making sure our contract closes on time. I feel so fortunate to work with Tracy and the NACA program! Thank you all for your hard work!!
I would not recommend this company. i signed up in December i was able to upload all of my documents during this time i contacted my counselor to ask about paying the fees she informed me to wait until my appointment to determine if this was the program for me which made since. My appointment was for april the 13th on the 7th of April i received 4 email one that stated my Dl was not legible and that the counselor no longer work there and they cancelled my appointment. Very unprofessional 5 days before my appointment i am very disappointed and nobdoy will even reach out to me what is the point to have my contact info if you dont use it.
Please dont waste your life trying to work through all the obstacles that this organization throws at you during one of the most important transactions of your life. You need a competent lender, a competent Realtor, and youll be in good hands. Feel free to reach out to me for more details. This unorganized collection of diluted individuals will stress you out, delay your purchase, put you at a massive disadvantage when competing for a highly-desired property, and ultimately may cost you so much time and money they completely negate their purpose. This isnt an advocacy group, this is a scheme to keep people busy and have consumers run in circles. Call me, Ill share my experience.
NACA is the best especially for first home buyers. NACA gives you all the advice and guidance you need until you get the best and affordable house to live.
A friend of mine recommended NACA for my home buying process and so far it has been a great experience.
Sebastian is our loan counselor. He is guiding us through the process for NACA qualification. He is responsive and developed our action plan.
I would like to thank naca on behalf of myself and my family for helping us become first time home owners. The process may get overwhelming but believe in the process because its worth it. The rates are great and the naca team really gets involved with you to better understand the benefits. Thanks Naca
Horrible experience so far. My counselor Traci Chacon is horrible. He makes no attempt to reach out to any of my concerns. Misses my upcoming appointments. The worst part is that my file is ready to get approved. No one will help with the situation.
Its not a scam. its real-- but its a very very difficult program to complete. I am in year 1 of homeownership. IMO it was worth it, but I was lucky enough to have the time and energy to jump through all the hoops they require.
Going through the NACA process seems to be pretty self explanatory and easy to navigate. My wife and I are eager to see where the rest of the process takes us. Good so far.
We’ve had our intake session fairly quickly and our counselor is great. This is only the beginning and I’m excited to go through this process with her.
NACA is a great program for helping people to qualify for a home and Im buying my first home and ready to qualify, so excited!
I’ve been a member of NACA for almost 2 years now, a really program if you want to learn how to budget and save Money for the future. The program is totally free no strings attached.
Ive been working with NACA to obtain financing for a home and they have the best mortgage product on the market by far please give them a try
Going the process. . .NACA is the best program I came across to help buy a home
Best thing that happened to my parents which are older and SCUM like realtor Danny love to pray upon. I recommend it to everyone who loves positive people really willing to help and not see you as a number to put in their pocket. Love it love it. Its a process but in the end youll be happy camper with a home!! Also theyll educate you as far as how much money you waste thru RENTING APARTMENTS. UMMM GO AWAY DANNY YOU SUCK MAN.....
I’m in process to get a home by first timeWe are very happy with the kind and honest that the team NACA workerswe will continue in the process and I will update
NACA is a program you want to be apart of. Be patient and go through the process it’s all worth it in the end. Would highly recommend.
I am now going through the NACA program, I am at the beginning and will let you know updates on my progress so far just adding in paperwork needed for the program it going okay for now
NACA will be a blessing to my family. They have great benefits, the process may be laborious but it’s so worth it
Waste of time CREDIT IS AN ISSUE you need to have a high credit score to participate in the program and be willing to be strung along for a year or more to qualify if you happen to join and get a counselor named Tracy Chacon try and get another one he is not helpful at all and will keep telling you that he can get you qualified but he wont . Also they sell your information so keep a close eye on your information because they will sell it TURN AROUND DONT USE THIS WORTHLESS PROGRAM
As a first time homebuyer, they are really helpful. Im currently working with them and they always guide me to the right direction.
Our counselor Carl Williams was very informative. Had a great meeting. Highly recommend.
NACA is the only reason I own a home, it’s like a 2nd chance program for serious families. I’m so great full I came across this program
I started this process a year ago. We are excited to be home owners soon. It’s been a process but you benefit definitely outweigh the process! Plus you can’t beat the interest rate!
One of the best programs out there that helps families with low income to acquire a home. The process can be lengthy but its worth it at the end.
Naca has been the best experience of my life. Coming to Miami has been a God send! Thankful for a service like Naca!
Im sooo happy I found out about NACA. Ill be updating this review with photos of my new house when I close on it :)
