When a big name institution told us they would not be able to finance our loan, Juan Martinez and his team with Pilgrim Mortgage did otherwise. My family and I are truly blessed to have been recommended to Juan. Being the fact that we were doing a military move from California to Texas on top of being first time home buyers, we knew it would be a different situation from the initial phone call with Juan. He did not see us as just another mortgage opportunity, but he got to know my family and I personally and was looking out for our best interests. He heard out our situation and having experienced similar circumstances of buyers being denied by other lending institutions he took the time and effort to make sure we would be homeowners. The entire process was hassle free; Juan told us what he needed from us and he took care of the rest. During the entire process up until closing day, Juan and his team would always give us updates and check up on us. I cant express how this has been a great experience being a first time home buyer. Dont be bought into the big named lending institutions, instead find those such as Pilgrim Mortgage with outstanding Mortgage Loan Officers such as Juan Martinez and his entire team.

We are self employed tried to use Pilgrim Mortgage however they did not understand or have the experience to process a small growing businesses financials. We were asked to file our 2019 business tax return in January. They weren’t due until April 15 and then because of Covid 19 the deadline was extended to July. This is just one of many unreasonable requests. And many other unique situations that applied to us they did not know how to handle them. We used another mortgage company and bought our second home.

I want to share with everyone how wonderful this company is and also to acknowledge Merrily Brown. I have worked with her in the past on a previous house and she is fantastic. She goes beyond to ensure that her clients are well informed and kept up to date on the process. Honestly where do I begin. We dealt directly with Megan and Brandy during our home buying process. Brandy dealt with all the day to day grind of back and forth and gathering documents. Megan was the backbone that without exaggerating was the reason we were able to buy our house. Brandy worked so hard and even when I was frustrated and took it out on her she kept plotting forward doing what needed to be done. Megan on more than 1 occasion was on the phone with me well past 11 at night getting our mortgage done. Using the phrase “going the extra mile” does not begin to describe the work they put in. I closed on my dream home today and without Pilgrim Mortgage it would not have happened. I’m grateful I live in the Hill Country and was able to work with these amazing women.

I had the worst experience with this company. When we were about to close escrow the first time, the pilgrims rep gave me a closing date. I told the seller to come from another country (this was a direct sell) when she arrived. I was told by the pilgrims rep that I needed to submit more papers at the last minute, at that point the seller gave up and cancelled the transaction.On the second time to close the bank would not loan the money until the foundation was repaired, after I spend so much money on inspections, appraisal and hiring an engineer.I would never use this company ever again.

After my own credit union (AA) of 20 years couldn’t get my refi done...William Ross Wright did...in record time! Not to mention he was actually NICE about it and went above and beyond to provide the best customer service experience I’ve had in a looooong time. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy or refinance a home. Also, to my realtor friends...he will make you look good to your clients...they will LOVE him and his team.

Merrily Brown from Pilgrim Mortgage was the first and last person I will ever go to for finding a mortgage for my home. She listened to all my concerns, worries, needs and goals before helping me find out exactly what I qualify for and what I can do. She was the first person not laugh at my dream home idea but she actually told me that it is possible, here is how and that I should never give that dream up. Wonderful woman!!!!!!

One of the worst mortgage company I have worked with. I worked with Megan Cloud. They quoted me an X Interest rate initially on a 30 year conventional loan and changing it to 15 year also would be an X interest rate. I worked with security service credit union before and they are much better than this company. I would rather suggest going to a different company than getting scammed here. Just avoid Megan Cloud if you need to save your money.

In all honesty Dont waste your time with Pilgrim Mortgage. Ive been mislead for about 3 months now with them. Theyve continued to push closing date back, maked false promises and continue to tackle on unnecessary fees. I know more about this whole process then my own loan officer sadly. Unprofessional and unorganized.

Had to put a star in there so anyone could see this review. If minus stars were possible this company would get it just for employing John Lopez. Poor communication throughout and sure no two mortgages are alike but this guy couldn’t figure out income and dragged it out for over 3 months only to leave us empty handed after drawing up a pre-approval letter and risking $3000 worth of earnest money and getting me halfway through escrow. Using this company and John Lopez cost me over $1500 in inspections and fee’s all because he could or would not listen and calculate income properly. Now I have no recourse but to give honest reviews. I wasted hours, days and weeks waiting for this guy to make good on his promises. Please avoid this company at all costs.

As a general rule, the house buying process is a daunting and excruciating process. However, I was working out of town, with a ton of obstacles and nothing in my favor to change that rule, but that was not the case while working with David. As my husband and I readied for this life changing step we relied heavily on David to get all the details in order. And although it was not easy, David made the process seamless and effortless for us. We have our home today because David worked fast, efficient and diligently to ensure that we had everything we needed to get to closing day. From the pre-approval to closing day, everything went smooth because David made certain that any and every obstacle was for seen and dealt with before it even became an issue. Carol Connolly acts unethical. She wrote a pre qualification letter for me, after she ran my credit . I told her I found better rates and she decided to go behind my back and called the listing agent to rescind her letter. (On a Saturday ) Beware!! This company especially this person is sneaky and uses unscrupulous behavior. She tried to hurt me personally by impeding my progress and damage my ability to buy the house. It was an act of premeditated covert hostility. I’m actually afraid now that she has ALL of my information!!!

Was very happy with the fast responses to question and required documents needed to complete my mortgage needs. Almost everything was handled digitally making it one of the easiest mortgages I have ever applied for.
