On Friday, November 15, 2024, at around 2:00 AM, I was awakened by an emergency alarm caused by a broken pipe on the second floor of the complex. This incident resulted in significant water damage to both the second and first floors.Despite the severity of the situation, the response from the complex management has been extremely disappointing. When we approached the office for guidance, the staff simply advised us to contact our rental insurance. While I understand the role of insurance in such situations, it is unacceptable that management has taken no responsibility or action to address the issue for residents. We are paying over $1,800 in monthly rent, yet management has failed to inspect the damage, address our concerns, or provide any assistance. The carpets remain soaked, and while we attempted to dry them using fans, this has added to our electricity costs—something the management has not offered to cover. The unit smells terrible, and there is clear evidence of mold growth. These conditions are unsafe and unlivable. To make matters worse, we are still being asked to pay rent for December despite being unable to reside in the unit due to these conditions. It has now been two weeks since this incident occurred, and no progress has been made. I am requesting the following actions:Relocation to Another Unit: I need to be moved immediately to a clean, safe, and habitable unit.Proper Repairs: My current unit requires thorough repairs, including replacing the damaged carpets and addressing mold issues.Rent Adjustment: I should not be required to pay rent for the period during which my unit is uninhabitable. This situation has severely disrupted my life, and I expect management to take responsibility and provide an immediate resolution. If no action is taken, it will reflect poorly on the complex’s commitment to its tenants, as these conditions and the lack of response demonstrate a disregard for tenant well-being.I urge management to address this matter promptly and provide a clear plan for resolution.
For anyone looking to move here, please reconsider!!! When paying almost $1800 a month in rent you would think it would be a nice place… Management has been so bad And they either ignore you, never return your phone calls or gaslight you. My mother has lived here for a few years and it has gotten so bad! For starters the elevator never works and there is never any communication about when it will be fixed. There is always a leak in her refrigerator that she constantly has to come home to. Her faucet in her kitchen broke completely off and she called maintenance to fix it but of course they never did. After being so tired of having to wash her dishes in her bathroom sink she finally just had someone come and replace it on her own. Never did someone from the complex call or follow up. But rent just keeps going up. The grills at the pool don’t work. The fire pit area has mold all over the cushions so no one wants to sit on them. My mom’s apartment smells like mildew and the fan in the restroom was covered in black mold. They finally came after she begged someone from the front office to come see it and a company came and replaced the fan but painted over the black mold. Didn’t cut it out. Didn’t find the source of the mold and stop the leak or have followed up to see if it’s fixed. But no discount on her rent or any type of customer service. Needless to say as soon as her lease is up she will be moving. I am worried that she will get sick smelling all the mildew and living in these conditions so we will be escalating our concerns since it’s obvious the people working in the office don’t care. Oh and yes she has gotten towed before. Definitely not the conditions you want your almost 70 year old mother living in.
I’ve been a resident for nearly five years and have endured four separate flooding incidents that have severely damaged my belongings. Despite promptly reporting each issue, management’s responses have been slow, dismissive, and unhelpful. My repeated requests for written damage reports and explanations regarding the causes of these leaks have been completely ignored.Recently, I also discovered mold growing all over my apartment walls, which is a serious health concern. On top of that, the garage door has been left open for weeks , creating a security risk, and the elevators were out of service for months, adding to the ongoing problems. To make matters worse, the manager, Reena Ramirez, is always absent and completely unhelpful. She continuously ignores resident concerns, refuses to provide information when asked, and does nothing to improve the living conditions. The only helpful and sympathetic staff member has been Alexander, who actually listens and tries to assist residents. This building has become a stressful, unsafe, and poorly managed place to live. If you are considering moving here, think twice, because management does not prioritize the well-being of its residents.
This is a very nice building. Since the beginning Alex was super helpful and welcoming to give us a tour around the building. His comments/recommendations were very honest. I did a second tour just to have a more insightful glance of the apartments (worth to mention I did not have an appointment for that second tour) and Alex was in the best willingness to show me the apartment one more time. So far, from the time I moved in up to now it has been great.Update 05/2024Update after a few months of living here. My car has been towed from the garage since the ‘resident sticker’ was not seen. Towing occurred at 2 am. Tag fell but was still in the car. However, the place where it was towed had the worst service I had ever experienced. I do not understand why Gables administration will make their residents to deal with this sorta of places. If your car is being towed, maybe they can allow better towing companies. At first glance I would have thought that building garage is safe, but now I have my doubts and no cameras on it.Although is a non smoke building, you can feel the smell of smoke (weed) regularly. Overall cleaning is an area of opportunity. Fire alarm has been activated by ‘mistake’ twice in the months that I have been living here.Update 11/2024This just gets worse. Customer service is completely absent. Massive water leakage due to a pipe burst happened. All the affected people are getting no clear answers. The hallways were completely flooded and Gables solution is to dry it with fans. Smell is unbearable.
This is the third week since I placed the maintenance request. Nothing has been done. The technician came and left saying they will contact the supervisor for the problem I have with the appliance and it has been 10 days since this happened. I stopped by the office 3 days ago asking for an update. Alex says they have received new appliances as he is inferring that mine needs to be replaces but cannot tell me this will happen or not. He also said he or the maintenance supervisor will call me with an update. This is the third day and no update and no action taken. I stopped by the office today again asking for an update. No answer. This is the most run down looking property with the dirty/dark garage, nasty sewer smelling carpeting, no amenity works “luxury apartment” I have ever lived in Houston. The management is oblivious, negligent and unprofessional. This is not the first time, I had to ask over and over again for maintenance requests to be completed. If there is a chance to give no stars for this review, I would chose that. Can’t wait to move out, even considering breaking my lease because it is not a safe, pleasant or even comfortable place to live. I dread coming home to disgusting smelling carpets in the hallways, broken elevators, never ending 3 am in the morning fire alarm mishaps, broken pipes, lower water pressure and lack of water due to boiler issues. Don’t waste your money moving in or ruin your peace trying to live decent life in this property.
You and your property are unsafe here. After living here 2 years, here is the harsh reality of living here:Gables used to be a fantastic place to live, but it has rapidly gone downhill thanks to the incredible incompetence of our new management. I will not be renewing for these reasons:1. You and your property are not safe here…2. There were bullet casings on the garage floor (see photos)3. My car has been broken into twice in my own garage, and two of our bikes were stolen. Damages totalled $15k. (See photos)4. There are no cameras in the garage, and there is no security officer on site. This was their genius, reassuring way of encouraging rampant crime at our complex.5. We have even caught someone trying to break into the garage through a back entrance - likely to steal more wheels. My situation is common; since living here I have seen at least 6 other cars put on bricks. Read the other real reviews to see pictures.6. Do you like being towed from your own garage? Get used to it.7. There are numerous abandoned cars in the garage that have been there for *years*8. Maintenance flooded my apartment floors by creating an even bigger fridge leak than the one they were supposed to fix. The wood floor is still warped.9. Horrendous mail system. They use Fetch, which adds another 1-2 days to your delivery time by shipping your packages somewhere else before they come here.10. We have a mystery resident that pulls the fire alarm for fun every three months or so (for the past year and a half).11. At least 5 neighbors on my floor alone have been similarly screwed over by living here and are also looking to move. The worst problem of all is the management. It’s incredible how incompetent they are at their jobs:1. After the incidents above, management gaslit me by telling me I should just better secure my car if I don’t want a third break-in (instead of just putting in cameras, which Gables refuses to do).2. Management is unresponsive. They ghosted my calls at least 5 times, ghosted several emails I sent to them, and weren’t even in the office for over an hour when I tried to go turn my keys in. They don’t know how to do their jobs because they aren’t qualified to.3. Any review shouting out the office staff is a disingenuous, paid review. Residents get gift cards for leaving those fake reviews. Do yourself a favor and ignore the fake 5 star reviews. Management will go hand out more gift cards to try to bury this one, but look how well that worked.Office staff - do everyone a favor and don’t bother with your fake automated response. I’ll be reaching out to your bosses to give them your performance review.
Amazing community with solid staff that actually care about the community. Very quiet and safe. Apartments are well built so you don’t have to hear your neighbors. Facilities are well maintained and maintenance responds to requests expediently.
I recently toured this property, and I had a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, Stefany was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative. She took the time to answer all my questions and provided great insight into everything the property has to offer. Her professionalism and warm personality made the tour even more enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The amenities stood out, and the overall atmosphere felt inviting and comfortable. I truly appreciated how smooth and pleasant the entire process was, thanks to Stefany’s help. If you’re considering this place, I highly recommend taking a tour you won’t be disappointed!
I can’t begin to express my disappoint with how far Gables Post Oak has fallen since I chose to make it my home two years ago….Let me list the issues my roomate and I have faced in the past several months and management’s respective response:Incident: Honda Accord windows were smashed for the second time in a year while parked on the second floor of the garageManagement: “You should just better secure your car”, Your property is your responsibility and neither cameras nor a 24 hour security guard are worth investing in to protect the premise. Oh, but trespassing signs may work.Incident: Two of my bikes were stolen consecutively despite having been placed in a “resident access only” bike room with a lock. If you wander downstairs you will find many cut cables and half bikes in ruin from theftManagement: Your property is your responsibility and neither cameras nor a 24 hour security guard are worth investing in to protect the premise. Oh, but trespassing signs may work.Incident: After discovering a leak, maintenance “fixed” the leak which resulted in our hallway being flooded.Management: Maintenance came to resolve the issue again quickly however Managment said the damage and visibly warped floor was “totally fine and non-noticeable.”Incident: I caught someone breaking into the garage from one of the unsecured side doors while I was walking to my car at night with my girlfriend. They then subsequently ran away after spotting me. (Might it be noted I have spotted groups of people entering the abandoned building next door).Management: Never called me back or told me what was done to secure the door.Incident: We gave notice of intent to move too late because of the crime and management response after we passed the 60 day mark (we had planned to stay before that)Management: Management refused to negotiate any terms and pushed our move out date a month back at the highest market rate - with no reduction of intent to renegotiate due to the thousands of dollars we lost from theft and damage. Bottom line being, if they can find a way to penalize their residents, they will.Other Incidents and Conclusion:In the last several months, the main elevator has been broken for weeks on end, the run off from the dog park upstairs has leaked into the garage below leaving a foul urine smell after rains, people have run inside screaming about people hiding in the bushes outside the property, tow trucks roam the garage looking to tow any wrongly parked visitor or resident, and oh might I mention….. I found bullet casings in the garage after hearing popping sounds the night before…..For all of these reasons, residents who have resided at Gables Post Oak for years have decided to leave due to mismanagement of the property. Jasmine is a good leasing agent here but I have nothing positive to say about the others who ignored, lied, and gaslit me. I hope when reading this review, you make a wise inference on whether or not to move here. Don’t just take my word for it, see the images for yourself….
Alexander and Stefany in the leasing office were incredibly helpful in setting us up here at Gables. They have been very responsive to our requests and timely with their communication. We are pleased with our unit, and we have an awesome view of downtown too!
I had an amazing experience moving to Gables Post Oak, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the very beginning, Alexander was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire process. Moving across the state from Virginia could have been stressful, but thanks to Alexander’s guidance and support, everything went smoothly. He made sure every detail was taken care of, and I felt confident every step of the way. The apartment itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and in an ideal location. I’m so glad I chose Gables Post Oak—it’s truly been a wonderful home!
Absolute WORST PLACE. UNINHABITABLE living conditions and when you bring it to their attention they give you the run around. Management is aloof. Ceiling is DROOPING from all the water damage. NO ELECTRICITY IN BEDROOM and NO RUNNING WATER. Both in violation of the LAW. Do not rent here! Mold is EVERYWHERE. Management is well understaffed.
I waited to write this review to see if this company would do the right thing, but they didn’t so here goes…First, most of the 5 star reviews for this place are from people who toured but don’t actually live at the property. I know this because I also left a great review when I toured in May 2023. The tour was amazing and the leasing agent that I worked with was very sweet. After move in June 2023, however, it kind of went downhill. There were several issues (bedroom windows not opening, sinks leaking in the guest bathroom, toilet running in the primary bathroom, the dishwasher was not draining or drying dishes, the clothes dryer was not drying properly, and the built in speaker system was not installed completely) that were discussed with this leasing agent and maintenance tickets were submitted by myself and my leasing agent. The maintenance staff would simply close the ticket as if the issues were fixed but NOT actually fix anything. This went on for almost a month. During this month, I spoke with the manager in person and was promised a fix and given an excuse of them being short on maintenance staff. I finally got frustrated and sent an email to their corporate office and explained that if maintenance was short staffed they needed to pull someone from one of their MANY other buildings. I also expressed that if I were to tell them that I was short on rent they would not be as understanding as they were asking me to be. Only after all this, were my maintenance issues addressed.During the year that I lived there, I noticed that there was no security. Cars were ALWAYS on brick. Scroll through the reviews and you will see several examples. My friend’s catalytic converter was stolen from his car while parked in the rooftop visitor parking section. The carpeted hallways had a bad odor most days and the lights in the hallways near the entrance doors rarely worked. I lived on the 7th floor so the odor could have been attributed to the dog park on the 8th floor. The grills near the pool didn’t have gas any of the 3 times we tried to use them.During my last 60 days there, maintenance was always in and out of my apartment with no notice or explanation of why. I know this because my ring camera told me so.What I did enjoy about this building was the location, the price of rent compared to other buildings in the area, the kitchen storage, and I never dealt with any pests. Also, the staff was never rude, they just didn’t do much or ever seem to have answers. They always had to speak to corporate before confirming anything. My biggest issues came after I left July 2024. I was billed $892 after move out. I was told over $600 this was because they needed to replace our carpet due to stains from my dog. I sent them the move out pictures that I had taken of my apartment asking where the stains were. I was sent photos of ripped out carpet flipped over with stains. My first issue with this was, I did not get to see what the carpet looked like underneath when I moved in so who’s to say that the stains weren’t there before I moved in. My second issue was before I moved when they were trying to get me to stay, I was told that I could move to an updated floor plan that did not have carpet at all. This leads me to believe that they plan on getting rid of the carpet anyway, and I’m being asked to pay for their upgrades. My last issue is I paid a non refundable $400 pet fee, a $100 refundable pet deposit, and either $25-$40 a month in pet rent (my memory is fuzzy on this part). The pet deposit was deducted from the total balance leaving the $892 that was billed to me. What did the $400 pet fee pay for? Is this not supposed to be for assumed damages caused by pets? Isn’t that the reason why it is non refundable?I filed a claim with Gables disputing these charges with photos and my reasoning and was told that the damages were justified and the amount would not be reduced. I have tried to speak with someone who can do something about this, but have not been given any opportunity to.
I’ve had good experiences living at Gables properties in the past, so I came into this process with high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience with Stefany was so frustrating that it became the deciding factor in choosing not to move in.From the start, Stefany seemed dismissive and unwilling to help. Despite confirming that my profile was still in the system and my ID was verified, she claimed my ID was denied without offering any explanation or solution. When I offered to bring my passport, she refused to even scan it. I asked if she could at least provide information about the unit I was interested in, but she refused that as well. I asked if she could record the unit for me, but she said it wasnt normal to do that. She confirmed the unit I wanted is almost never available. Her attitude made it clear she wasn’t interested in assisting me.Wanting to give Gables another chance, I scheduled a second tour. I arrived on time but had to wait outside for 15 minutes until Stefany arrived and another 10 minutes while Stefany settled in for the day. I had taken time off work specifically for this, so the delays were frustrating. It was also frustrating that the A11 was taken off the market the day after I initially wanted to tour and apply.I explained multiple times that I just wanted to physically see the units I had already researched online, yet she kept trying to narrow my list down unnecessarily. Making remarks that she didnt want the tour to be too long. (I just wanted to see 3 units) When we finally toured the units—after wasting an hour—the tour itself lasted only 15 minutes, which is all I originally wanted. I requested copies of the units and cite maps and ammentiy fees and she made remarks about having to do extra work for me. We were walking by another leasing agent so I asked again, and this time she agreed to do the work and give me copys. The property itself is beautiful, but I’ve never had such a negative experience with a leasing agent before. If first impressions matter, then Stefany made it clear that I was not valued as a potential tenant. Because of this, I won’t be moving forward with Gables.
Lived here for two years. They have fees on top of fees. Valet trash fee - great amenity to have your hallways smelling like garbage. Fetch package delivery fee, which is just super as they had really nice Lockers which used to be very convenient. But they stopped using them and now...Staff at front changed the entire time from leasing agents to managers. The residents here are disrespectful and dirty. Dog urine and feces in elevator and hallways. Stank trash left out in the hallways. If you do use the trash chutes residents just leave trash NEAR the chute so its stinks awful and you step over trash ooze. People shooting music videos and taking photos on the street with there fancy cars.Garage door was always having issues. Garage would be left open for weeks. Skim the reviews to see all the broken in vehicles and cars on blocks.
After the water pipeline burst, construction team started to working. But they are leaving your door as open or unlock. When they try to go in, they do not knock door. I dont feel secure my home. When I talked with leasing office about it, she told me we send email this week and make sure double lock your door. But those things are not excuse to enter my unit without knock door or leave door open. My pet can run away. I even made couple of times warning about it but management does not consider it. Management is totally frustration, they do not take serious about your, your per or your unit security
This complex apartment is terrible decision if you want to have a peace life, all the people that work in the office they don’t know what they doing except Alex that is the absolute the only one that can work, the elevator don’t work, people is dirty, packages get lost with the third party they have, not body get responsible for anything, another floors have a huge flood and the been super bad to them, the even need to leave. If you want peace run from this place.
Enjoyed my time here. Tons of nearby restaurants and shopping, walking distance to Starbucks, Target, a great cleaners, etc. No apartment is perfect and there are areas for improvement here, but the location is perfect. It also has a convenient park nearby and a covered dog park with wash station on the top of the building which came in handy for my pup. A gym and office that were easy to utilize. It’s super close access to the highway and I always felt safe in this area.
I have to laugh about the other reviewers using pics of my tireless mountain bike on the floor. What you need to focus on is the most important aspects of real estate: Location, Location, Location. This is one of the best value luxury-class properties around with excellent client interactions and service response. We have a full-sun pool until 630pm in the summer! Great gym, nice lounge, but we could use a public kitchen space instead of the massive leasing office/mail room that takes up the 1st floor pool adjacent area. High-floor East units have a great view of the downtown sunrise. The apartments are decent-sized, with good layouts, and amenities (kitchen island, built-in desk, Bluetooth speakers). This is WALKABLE urban Houston, Whole Foods, Galleria, Memorial Park, & Westheimer dining. With those positives comes the negatives. Traffic sucks. Some of your neighbors are sex workers and drug dealers. Easy highway and bayou access means criminals and transients are everywhere. Dont like it? Move to a gated community in the burbs.Yes, many things are stolen from public areas. My bicycles were vandalized on 3 separate occasions, I keep the new one inside my apartment. There was a rash of sophisticated garage attacks in the area, not just this property. Vandals disabled many automated garage doors, ours has been hardened & secured. In 30 seconds you can open a locked car door with air bag & rod. However, Houston PD requires evidence of forced entry and wont file the report. I have had issues with equipment that resulted in excess costs to me: weeks of a broken AC running 24/7 in >80F weather (considered an emergency per the lease contract, but I was told not to report it as a maintenance emergency when I did) and an entry lock that was destroyed by an attempted brute force entry (which I had to pay a locksmith to replace at 11pm when I returned from international travel). But the building is going on 20 years old and Gables is a 30 year old REIT. Understand what the corporate jargon means when the CEO brags about building company culture and maintaining returns. Decimating the maintenance budget for a few years at a property doesnt affect the shareholders long-term value. Take the recent water event for example, this is an opportunity to displace bottom floor renters, upgrade the apartments, and raise the rent. That is a sound management decision from an investor viewpoint. Welcome to late-stage capitalism, plebian.I do really hate the lifestyle fee. The outdoor grilling station hasnt worked for over 300 days, a pool that was opened late (they screwed around with the chemicals a year or so ago), and lack of resident interactions. You would think a company like Gables Residential could establish a monthly 1-hour on-line town hall communication cadence, we know they report-out to their board members and shareholders. Maybe thats just typical for this generation of business leaders. They have recent posts on LinkedIn about success as they observe a transfer of wealth from renters to investors. Too bad they cant qualify the impacts of their strategies.Fetch is terrible. It is much more convenient to have Amazon deliver to the UPS store or Whole Foods counter, but I still have to pay for Fetch and we still have public space wasted on a mail room and mail lockers. There was a time in America when uniformed, unionized, UPS workers made apartment deliveries in well-maintained corporate vehicles (Yes, I did work for UPS in college). The Valet trash service is underutilized, but necessary because some of you are dumb as hell and cant even use a trash chute. These features appear to be more of an effort to generate revenue or rebates for corporate partners than to offer true benefits to residents or the marginalized workers providing the service. All in all, I am still here and will probably stay. Lets see what will happen now that some have formed a coalition to bring litigation against Gables. If all 25,000+ residents were to unite across the country...
Honestly I’m not even the type of person that likes to name dropping people and leave bad reviews, but of all my life touring apartment looking for places to live, never have I ever went into a leasing office and walked out without seeing the place (after wasting 40 mins of my time) and so angry with the customer service I received. if you would even called that “customer service” at all. For all that, thank you, Stephanie!Went in for my 3pm appointment yesterday to see the apartment. First, A lady who is not even scheduled at 3pm came in at 3 (still after I’ve arrived) and I guess bc she “knows what layout she wants to look at”, you decided it’s right to give her a tour before me (when I even asked if we could tour together..), then you were gone for who knows how long and came back decided you need to get busy helping all other current tenants with their keys and other issues while I was just standing for a solid 40 mins watching you before I finally walked out. I understand you are short staffed on a Saturday afternoon, but If you have a problem with me, just say it, no need to wasted my time especially if they have an appointment set up with you 40 mins ago!!!!! If your employer didn’t tell you you need to follow time when you set up an appointment with someone, then honestly don’t ever schedule an appointment with anyone!
You people have to be kidding me. It’s not enough to announce random apartment entries with minimal notice, and then again a week later with less than 76 hours notice, it’s not enough to constantly fail to meet the most basic of expectations when it comes to providing livable quarters, it’s not enough to have to harass every occupant of the leasing office endlessly to resolve the simplest of issues, but now I have an unannounced water cutoff? Again? I thought our issues ended when the mold problem in my bathroom was finally (temporarily) resolved after several weeks of “negotiation”. I understand maintenance, but how long can this go on? Every second of my experience here has been an absolute nightmare that I have paid exorbitant prices for. I want whoever is reading this to please heed the warning that I will continue to deliver to absolutely anyone that will listen, whether in the gym or pool or leasing office or parking garage or here; living here is the absolute worst decision that you can make for yourself or your family. DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. Fair warning. The best part is, based on prior conversations everyone who has made the mistake of giving you people their hard-earned money will agree. Don’t believe me? ASK ANYONE THAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU TOUR.
Living here has been an absolute pleasure, thanks to the outstanding property management team. They are always friendly, approachable, and quick to address any concerns or requests. The maintenance crew is efficient and thorough, ensuring that any repairs or issues are resolved promptly. The property is consistently well-kept, with beautiful landscaping and clean common areas. The management team also does a fantastic job of fostering a sense of community among residents with various events and activities. I couldnt ask for a better place to call home and highly recommend this property management to anyone seeking a top-notch living experience!
I am finally leaving Gables after 4 years. It was good until the last 1.5 years. Recent flooding on the 1st and 2nd floors aired on ABC13 and KHOU 11. Gables has not started repairs or given target dates for repairs. I have missed Thanksgiving with family due to unhealthy living conditions and trying to pack. It has taken over a week to recieve something in writing stating I gave notice to not renew lease. I am unable to secure another apartment until this is recieved. My car was stolen from Gables Post Oak parking garage on October 30. Then the November 15th flooding. I am living in filth. No replies or consolation regarding my stolen car. No replies to rent abatement or discounts for the filth and flooding in my apartment. They have used my electricity for 11 industrial fans - bill has skyrocketed! They lease to anyone with a pulse. Shady characters in the pool area and complex. People follow you into garage to scope out cars- these people clearly do not live at Gables. Security NEVER replies to text or calls when events happen.I really enjoyed the first few years but the last year+ has been a nightmare.Gables , dont bother sending me a reply to this review on how to contact you with issues. My 50+ emails have been ignored or replies with vague responses.Theres so many issues, it would take a while to write. Do yourself a favor, and keep going past Gables Post Oak. It is a joke.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Reena, the general manager at the apartments, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Reena was incredibly professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure all my questions were answered and my needs were met. Her friendly demeanor and thorough knowledge made the leasing process smooth and stress-free. The apartments themselves are fantastic—nicely designed, roomy, and well-maintained. I highly recommend working with Reena for anyone looking for a seamless and enjoyable apartment leasing experience in such a wonderful living space!
I have been living in my apartment for over a year now, and I couldnt be happier with the property management team. They are always prompt, professional, and incredibly responsive to any issues that arise. Maintenance requests are handled swiftly, often within the same day, and the common areas are always clean and well-maintained. The team goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel comfortable and valued, organizing community events and keeping us informed about any updates. I highly recommend this property management company to anyone looking for a hassle-free and pleasant living experience!
Good: The physical apartments are beautiful. The one bedroom unit I was in had a cute layout, beautiful finishes and I was happy to have a stand up shower. The onsite amenities are convenient with the gym, business center, lounge, pool and rooftop patio.Bad: Security in the garage is non-existent. My car was vandalized a few weeks after I moved in and it was hit a few weeks before I moved out. The management response to both issues was we are sorry this happened to you but we don’t have cameras in the garage. I saw a car with what appeared to be a transfer of my paint to their bumper and they wouldn’t even ask them about it! Avoid apartment 136 if you are sensitive to noise. People use the leasing office parking after hours so there were many nights I was woke up by people having loud conversations and playing music in the parking lot. There were also a couple of instances where either the key fob mechanism stuck or something was going on with the alarm on the office and there was a constant beeping noise that would wake me up. There is a lot of street noise and noise from the freeway. I have Verizon and during the day it is like the signal is jammed in the area. From 9:00am until about 7:30pm by cellular signal was really weak. The main breaker for unit 136 tripped twice during my six month lease. Maintenance was pretty good with getting onsite to get it back on in an hour or so but it was still an inconvenience. FYI the main breakers are in the electrical rooms in the building so this is not something you can go outside and do yourself if the electric company ever instructs you to do so.
So today was move in day and so far the entire thing has been hysterical, but not in a good way. It took us four hours to get the key to the apartment, a fob and a pool band. The first two sets of keys didn’t lock our apartment .We had paid to have the apartment cleaned before move in. There were things left in drawers. But, the best is the kitchen cabinet doors won’t allow the cabinets to open. They have clearly painted the ceiling so many times you can’t open the cabinets. Apartment has a weird funk smell. Hopefully day 2 will be better, but so far it’s not good and clearly no one was doing quality controlDay 2 was met with an air conditioning unit that would not work, no hot water in the kitchen sink and we realized we have broken tiles in the bathroom. Maintenance came by and fixed 3/4 of the inoperable cabinets, noted that it was 78 degrees in the unit and opened the door to the utility closet, said they cleaned out the drain and suggested we call maintenance- lol. It got down to 76 degrees in the unit overnight. We waited for 2 hours in the lobby for assistance yesterday. There were three other folks waiting with us. The upside, the office staff was finally willing to call maintenance which resulted in the partial cabinet fix. Maintenance guys were nice and friendly. But couldn’t fix three of the 5 issues.
We decided to renew our lease and look for a larger apartment here! The building is perfectly located and the apartments we toured were in top notch condition. Alexander in the leasing office was fantastic helping with this process and made it as seamless as possible! Highly recommend living here if you want to live close to the galleria in a good area of Houston.
My stay here has been pleasant, the maintenance team have been amazing and knowledgeable! Alexander has been great help in finding my new home! I really enjoy using the pool as it is long enough to do laps in and enjoy it with family and friends!
This is a amazing community!Great amenities and cool features in the home! Built in Bluetooth speakers sold me from the start along with Alexander’s amazing assistance in finding my new home. The staff have been very pleasant since day one! I would recommend this location and community! 10/10!!
I lived here for a year and It has taken me a while to write this review, however, I feel obligated to do so. Due to what I believe was a theft of my property FROM MY UNIT and it still bothers me. Gables PO is a beautiful, clean, hospitable with wonderful amenities and is situated in a prime location. The one thing that I don’t like is that in the year I lived there, the building requested at least 5-7 times to gain entry into my unit, for inspections or repairs, which I thought were a bit excessive. At some point, two of my gold rings went missing, and since I don’t wear with with frequency, I didn’t know they were missing. Honestly, I don’t have company in my home, and know for a fact that I didn’t loose them. I don’t have any proof that maintenance stole my property but I have a strong suspicion, which is why it took me so long to post a review. But in my heart of hearts, I know it was stolen by staff. Be careful and get a safe for your most valuable of items.
Gables Post Oak staff, especially Stefany and Alex, have been so helpful in accommodating my move-in schedule, have been friendly and responsive, and have even been helpful when there were some technical issues with my resident account! They worked with me to resolve the issue!
The manager at this property was rude and dismissive when I arrived for a tour. I drove 35 minutes to get here in traffic and was turned away after waiting 45 minutes in the lobby because their system to take a photo of my ID wasn’t working. They are understaffed in the front office. The girl who greeted me didn’t even work at that property, she came over just to help them for the day.She told me if I want to view the property, I need to call the support line to figure out why it was down. Why would I call support for YOUR broken technology? It was insane. The whole hour I spent here was nothing short of unprofessional, and the manager was very UNapologetic about the time I wasted. I don’t even want to know what the residents go through when it comes to customer service here.
STAFF:Arrived to tour a couple of two bedrooms at Gables Post Oak with Alex while he seemed to be the only one in office. There were several other residents and prospects waiting but his level of patience and customer service to each was phenomenal! After leaving around 5:30pm, Alex returned a call from me earlier that day. He said he wanted to be sure he returned all missed calls from the day -- just further impressed me on his dedication to make sure everyone received the assistance they needed.PROPERTY:Excellent location! Just off 610 West Loop/San Felipe. Walking distance to Target and a park. Property seems to be well-maintained, and clean. Lots of amenities and common areas.UNIT:Love the bamboo wood flooring, dark cabinets, built-in bluetooth speakers, generous bathroom and closet size....However, the only ick for me is the 2 WOOD COLOR wood blinds.I lived here for a couple of years and other reviews stating Gables will nickle & dime you are true! $7+ for a light bulb replacements - this was in 2016-2018, probably more these days. However, I did recently consider moving back because the pros outweigh the cons; it made the final two after an *extensive* apartment search. The only reason I chose to lease elsewhere is due to 2 things:1) It is OVER-priced for its market - similar size units (price/SF) with more modern color schemes, newer amenities, and;2) Upfront fees to lease are significantly higher than their competitors and their leasing incentive was a Gift Card after your first FULL MONTH. Moving is already expensive enough, offer rent credits, waived App/Admin fees, or half off the Security Deposit. All in all, great management company, lovely property, above average unit features - just couldnt make the rate make sense!
Alex was awesome from start to finish throughout our move in process. And keeps being super helpful as we settle into our new home. We love it here!
12/2 update:This property has gone downhill. It’s so disappointing to see how bad people can ruin such a beautiful property. I do not plan to renew my lease. It constantly smells like w33d and I feel afraid in the parking lot. My car got broken into. I feel like people are definitely scoping the garage. It’s so scary! There is NO SECURITY HERE! Apart from the water and pipe bursting issue there’s so many countless problems.——-PROS:- Location, everything is close- Maintenance, is very quick sometimes within the hour! Ive never had to wait more than 24 hours for a request. I also think the maintenance staff does a wonderful job on keeping the property clean as best as they can.- Layout, I love my layout, the wood floors are such a nice touch. Its not super modern, which I like. My apartment has character, it isnt a boring white and grey space. My friend lives on a lower floor and cannot hear upstairs neighbors- Fetch, I hate that there is a fee for this but apart from having to wait extra time to get my package, I have never gotten a package stolen and its always delivered on the timeframe I ask for- Pool and Gym are nice and always kept up- Pricing, rent is high everywhere but I do think Gables Post Oak has really great competitive rent prices for the area and the amount of square footage you get.CONS:- Some neighbors can be LOUD. Granted you cannot control what others do but sometimes neighbors play music really loud and heard thru the walls, apart from that regular conversations/tv noise cant really be heard thru the walls. I do feel like noise reports can be taken a little more seriously. People should respect their neighbors and a lot of them dont.- Fees, some of the fees seem a little ridiculous like a boiler fee- Safety, I feel like there can 100% be an increase on safety. We pay a ton of money, there should be Security ON the property at all times, especially in the garage after all the car tire theft.- People are dirty and dont take after their pets, which again is not something the apartments can control.
I loved living here!! I only moved out because I had to downsize, I’m very sad to leave :( Jazmin and Alex are the best! Gables Post Oak is top tier so don’t believe all the negative hype ( if there is any) Luxury living at its finest!!
Although I encountered some issues when I first moved in, management was very helpful and quickly resolved them. Ive loved living at this location so far, and I hope I continue enjoying the property. Ill write another review once Ive lived here longer!!
The apartment flooded and they are refusing to rip up the carpets. The smell of mold is RANCID and the whole apartment building is about to be filled with mold. They are still making us pay full rent and a “lifestyle fee” but have us living in these terrible conditions that is affecting our HEALTH!! Been here 3 years and something is always broken but to be paying this much in these conditions sent me over the edge
Lived here for a little over two years have seen several (literally SO MANY) cars get their wheels taken never thought my car would be targeted I was wrong. The manager was sympathetic, but at the end of the day nothing they can do. I like my unit I like this community, but I wish they would FINALLY invest in a 24/7 patrol.
AMAZING! I have lived here for some time now and have had no issues. Alexander made the move in process so quick and effortless. The staff/maintenance here is very helpful and responsive. Jerry and Oscar are second to none, very speed maintenance team. The location is fantastic, located on Post Oak. You can’t beat it. It is also a very quiet area and it is honestly a hidden gem. The place overall is very clean and they take pride in keeping this place well kept. The gym also has everything I need so I ended up canceling my gym membership! Great place overall.
I have lived at Gables Post Oak for 5 years and in the past several months everything here has gone to down the tubes. Maintenance request are taking over a week to be addressed. Ive had a broken kitchen faucet for 3 days. Resorted to washing my dishes in the bathroom sink. They absolutely were not concerned with the tremendous inconvenience this is causing me. I had to have a family member come fix the faucet!! I in no way fault the Maintenance Team. The issue is the new Management company. Also over the past few months, major water issues. Water being shut off on a regular basis for an entire day. Elevators consistently out of order. Grills at the pool dont work. Lights in the hallways are not being replaced when they go out. The hallways are no longer vacuumed on a regular basis. They look awful & dirty nasty! I requested the phone number for the Corporate Office from the Leasing Agent and was told she did not know it. And the Manager was unavailable. Considering the rental rates here, this is ridiculous.Update: I had black mold in my unit. The odor was overwhelming for days. As you know, a health hazard. It was a struggle to get the attention this required. And yet my repeated requests to have the manager contact me were ignored. If your standard generic response to reach out to the manager isnt a joke, I dont know what is. And it is also offensive because it only further displays the lack of care for attention to my individual concerns. An outside contractor replaced the fan & and the sheetrock and finished painting at 10 am on 7/20. I have no doubt that the duct work to the fan is covered in mold, but at this point I dont have the energy to ask to have this addressed. It took me 3 1/2 hours to clean my bathroom. I washed the ceiling, walls, light fixtures, cabinets & doors. I washed the baseboards and all of the grout on the bathroom floor from the thick layer of sheetrock dust. As noted, the work was completed this morning. Did the manager follow up? Hell no!!Update - So yet again no water to the building. This time is was due to the City of Houston. However, the email residents received from Management was if we wanted an update as to when water would be restored, that we needed to contact the City management office! In other words, dont call them and dont expect them to take it upon themselves to get updates on water restoration. I have been on hold - twice - for 20 minutes. The customer service from management is non existent. The building has has only one functioning elevator for weeks! This is absolutely the worse property ever! The plaque on their door should read Experience The Lack of Customer Care!!
Gables Post Oak is fantastic! The management team is super helpful and friendly, always ready to assist. The property is beautiful and well-kept, with great amenities like a pool and gym. Plus, the location is perfect for shopping and dining. Highly recommend!
The office staff is great and very responsive. Maintenance just needs to take care with installing new appliances to not damage floors, surfaces, etc or fix it if they do. Otherwise I love living here.
LIVED HERE FOR 12 MONTHS NOW. Maintenance WAS responsive in 24-48 hours and place is still quiet. Currently work orders take around 3 weeks or longer to get fixed and Im still waiting on my work order to be fixed. They claim it is due to short maintenance staff however you cant claim luxury if I cant dry my clothes for 1 month. Yes, I’ve reached out to leasing agents, maintenance employees, maintenance supervisor, and property manager about the issue. CONSTANT MAJOR WATER LEAKS requiring water to be shut off for 10 -12 hours a day. After a month and a few days I did get both my washer and dryer replaced. They did finally hire more maintenance staff.3 month update: my only complaints thus far is putting 10 electric charging stations on the 2nd floor parking lot when there are 8 floors and putting towing enforcements signs. It makes parking more limited and sometimes you have no where to park on the 2nd floor. And yes, theft/ crime is still occurring in the garages daily.
During the time in which my partner lived here, I witnessed multiple crimes be committed against him and his roommate as well as numerous other residents. Furthermore, I witnessed a consistent lack of consideration for resident basic needs and safety from management. Despite Gables claiming to provide “luxury” apartment living, what we experienced was as far from luxury as one could get despite paying a luxury-level rent rate. Some of the most notable incidents that I witnessed include:- My boyfriend and I both witnessed someone attempting to break in to the garage late at night. When we immediately reported the incident to management via voicemail and email, we never heard back and no improvements to security have been made since.- Additionally, my boyfriend’s roommate’s car was burglarized twice with both of his front windows smashed in both times, and he had to spend thousands of dollars in repairs both times.Maybe, instead of blaming victims of crimes, Gables Post Oak should actually protect their paying residents and do more than put ‘no trespassing signs’ or go out of their way to tow their own residents.- It baffles me that there was a quicker response from the tow truck when we parked for a minute with out hazards on to bring something heavy to the elevator versus radio silence when we made a report after having witnessed someone actively attempting to break in. Clearly, Gables’ priorities lie with making money and little else.- Furthermore, both of my boyfriend’s bikes were stolen out of the supposedly secure, fob-access only bike room despite the bikes being secured with expensive, police-grade, passcode-protected locks.Shockingly, Management still adamantly refuses to install cameras despite the frequent amount of criminal activity onsite that has only been increasing over the past year. Their refusal to improve security has not changed despite the growing amount of criminal incidents that both we or our neighbors have reported. There are clearly some fishy things going on with management.Your property and valuables would likely be safer in corporate parking garages downtown than they would be at Gables.Unless you want your property and potentially you and your loved ones’ safety to be endangered, do not live at Gables Post Oak.
My experience here was very bad.Management was very incompetent and inconsiderate and failed to live up to what was promised. I felt very unsafe after hearing gunshots and saw people hiding in the bushes by the complex.Cars were routinely broken into and were placed on bricks. Sadly, management failed to take accountability or make things right. The negative reviews you see are not an exaggeration. Avoid this complex.
I literally cannot wait for the end of my lease! DO NOT RENT HERE! The water is ALWAYS getting turned off for “repairs” on a last minute basis! The grills have not worked for MONTHS (since winter) they we’re supposed to have “contractors” come 6/18 it never happened. We pay $50/month for amenities for only ONE fire pit that works SOMETIMES and a small gym it’s ridiculous. Be prepared to be disturbed by fire alarms that go off randomly for LONG PERIODS of time with no explanation (had us outside in robes @6am multiple times) also apparently there’s a new rule that you can’t leave your dog on the patio unattended. Also, it’s a 75% chance you’ll get your packages from FETCH (the 3rd party mailing company) they are known for losing packages or late delivering. The 5 star reviews are MOST DEFINITELY paid for! You’re welcome.
Gables Post Oak is a great community. Great staff and great location! Alex and the team have even amazing to me since we’ve toured. I would strongly encourage living in this beautiful community with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, mosaic backsplash and don’t forget the built in Bluetooth speakers!!
Gables management - having fun keeping up with the hoards of bad reviews? Paying people off for your 4.0 average got a little hard huh. It’s crazy how being bad at your jobs doesn’t work out well for anyone. All you have to do is be good at your job :) Anyone else reading this: ignore their bought-and-paid 5 star reviews and look at the pictures from everyone else. Cars broken into left and right, people hiding in the bushes, mold, bullet cases on the ground, trash, constant water and elevator outages. And guess what, this is all thanks to the people in the front office. All these problems came the instant they were hired. Hilarious!
We have lived here for a little over 2 months. Property managers are super helpful and accommodating. Very pet friendly facility. Kept clean. So thankful we found this place
I’ve enjoyed my stay at Gables so far! The apartment complex is nice, safe, and has several different amenities that make living more comfortable. I really appreciate the front office as well! Alex and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to make sure our needs are met and I’m grateful for how welcoming they are whenever I see them!
I am incredibly delighted to share an apartment in the most exceptional property in Houston, which boasts luxurious amenities and is nestled in the heart of the city. Moreover, I have the pleasure of sharing this stunning abode with a gorgeous woman who brings immense joy to my life. The person managing everything here deserves major props too!!!!!
I recommend these apartments to my friends and family because the staff is friendly and helpful. The assistant manager is very friendly and helpful and is there for your needs. Also Jasmine was very helpful and friendly to me and helpful. My wife and I are very happy and comfortable living here. This place is very clean and quiet. Its not filthy like other apartments especially from the place I was living at. So I recommend this place to everyone. If youre looking for a clean, quiet and safe place please come here. This is the place for you!
I came to tour with Jasmine and must I say, the property is amazing. From her customer service, to the hallways, and the spacious one bedrooms everything they have to offer is immaculate. The office was super friendly, and when I walked in I was greeted right away. Jasmine took her time to make sure all my answers were answered and was very sweet. I’m definitely going to be recommending this place to everyone! 5 stars doesn’t give enough credit !!
Loved this tour so much, thank you to Stefany for making the tour a great experience!
Jasmine was such a big help and was very attentive throughout the whole process. She kept me in touch with every single step of the application and also helped me get approved. So glad I was able to get her as my leasing agent. Would definitely recommend this place to others! Thank you for your help.ATTN. NELSON
Best value for money, location is great and the apartments are new and spacious. We decided to move within the building to another unit, and Alexander in the leasing office was of great help
Towing cars, many stolen tires, community smells like weed in hallways, smell like trash in first floor of garage and basement. EV chargers been down since new year and no one is responsible for it.(even though when they give you a tour they mention there is 16 Ev chargers).Wrong fire alarm and water has been shut off couple times. Really low security, there is no security camera in garage.
Truly appreciate Alexander. He is always welcoming, friendly, and ready to offer support at any time.
Jasmine has been truly helpful and knowledgeable about the property. Her knowledge and creativity about my home is what helped me choose this place out of many other communities! The whole staff in general is super helpful with the application process!
Great unit, great location, walking distance from target, really safe but my favorite part of the community is the leasing staff. Jasmine & Alexander are amazing! Everything gets fixed really quickly when I put in maintenance request.
I’m fairly new here and these are my observations so far. The standout about Gables Post Oak is something that is very important to me…it is very clean! Cleanliness is hard to accomplish when you have several hundred residents so kudos to the efforts of housekeeping and management in keeping the community a clean place to live. Maintenance is also very responsive and quick with requests. The vibe is laid back and friendly and you can’t beat the location. The office staff is friendly, personable, super helpful and Adrian, the manager, gets it done when it comes to handling issues, love her! Surely check out Gables Post Oak when considering your next move! I think you’d be happy here!
My family and I just moved in this month and my favorite part about this place is the staff…They are great! Each time I’ve had an issue, they’ve been very responsive. I have an active toddler who loves running around and making noise and instead of getting annoyed by him, the women in the front office encourage him to be as silly and free as possible. It’s really sweet to see.Yesterday, I noticed my refrigerator was leaking and put in a service request. Shortly afterwards, the little one and I left for a few hours and by the time we got back, the issue had been resolved. Not only that, Oscar, the person who responded to my service request, kindly placed my package that was delivered inside for me. It’s little things like not having to wait too long to be heard or having our belongings considered by others that go a long way.The quality of care that the staff at Gables Post Oak put into their tenants is top notch! It’s truly refreshing.
Hello I want to start by saying that Gables Post Oak is amazing this is my experience so far. I just moved in today and I must say. I have no complaints the staff is very friendly and down to earth the apartment is very luxurious and high quality. I want to say thank you to Jasmine because she made all of this possible. I really appreciate it she’s very kind and a wonderful person to work with. This is my first apartment and it’s wonderful. I’m looking forward to a long amazing stay with Gables Post Oak thank you again for a amazing first time experience. I would definitely recommend them to othersThanks again.Murphy
The management and the leasing agents are very helpful in all my needs. They are very respectful and kind. They also do things to show appreciation by giving candy cookies and snacks during holidays just a little something to say thank you. I really do appreciate them and their hard work.
I have been a Gables resident for over three years, and the service has been top notch. The management team has always been so welcoming and responsive to my needs. I love the location to everything but most of all, its the people in the office for me. I am staying put until I buy my dream home! Thank you all!
Security is awful and management does nothing to remedy crime at their complex. I lived here for a year and I noticed people moving out about two months ago. Now I know why after my car had all four of its wheels stolen while parking inside the complex’s parking garage. I now feel violated and unsafe here. I spoke to management who told me essentially “it happens everywhere, best of luck.” They stole my tires days before Christmas and my family flew into town from NC just to see me and the management had no remorse. Right before Christmas, I’m stuck at a complex I no longer feel safe at because of their lack of security.
The move in process was seamless. The office management team is amazing. The residents are so sweet and welcoming. The amenities are awesome. My apartment is breathtaking, the high ceilings, windows, views, and Bluetooth speakers are omgg😍 I love it here!
Gables Post Oak use to be a great place to live. Sorry to say that is no longer the case. This building has gone from a 5 star to a 0 star. Safety is a huge issue. The office staff is horrible, unprofessional and rude. This place is overpriced and they charge for every little thing. The utility charges are insane, you pay for trash (which has increased from $12 dollars to $18) plus a valet trash fee of $25. They charge for Fetch service whether you use it or not ($50). This is not an amenity! You cant have packages delivered here without going through a 3rd party and they make you sign a waiver stating no one is responsible for your packages. Its ridiculous. The leasing office and management team are anti-social and gives you the 1-800 number to call for customer service when they are literally sitting in the office doing nothing. The customer service has gone down the tubes. This is not luxury living. Its borderline slumlord living. They charge for pest control but never treat the hallways or apartments. When you call to ask for assistance - they cant be bothered. Reaching out to corporate isnt much better. I will be filing a complaint with the TAA and State Attorney generals office regarding the huge increases in rent and all the excessive fees. At a many you should have the option to opt out. I will not be renewing. And to the leasing office/management- you can save the automated response stating youd love to speak with me regarding my issues because that is a literal lie. You never address issues properly, so no need to say you will on here. Zero stars. Save yourself the headache and dont waste your money.
Please be aware! I got a rental car last week because my car had to go into the shop for some repairs. I parked the rental car in the basement in a visitor spot and had all the wheels stolen over the weekend. I drove the car last on Saturday, October 28th during the day. I was going to drive the car to work on Monday, just to find my rental car on bricks. Horrible experience! I spoke to other residents and there have been reports about similar incidents. It is very frustrating and I hope that something can be done about this. I know the corporate won’t do anything about it. Please have locks on your wheels! These thieves need to be held accountable!
I like the security measures in place. The staff made it so that move-in was smooth even with these guidelines and measures. They were responsive, informative, and concise. The gym is pretty solid and I like that the place is close to Memorial Park.
The complex is beautiful and Alex in the office helped my clients move in he’s very friendly and inviting . The complex is beautiful and very safe .
This place is a joke! Lived here for two years....They have fees on top of fees. Valet trash fee - great amenity to have your hallways smelling like garbage. Fetch package delivery fee, which is just super as they had really nice Lockers which used to be very convenient. But they stopped using them and now... yes you pay a fee. Boiler Maintenance fee every month on your water bill. Fees for lightbulbs! It is almost comical. My water was monthly $130 - $150 while living there. Trash fee on your water bill while you also pay a lifestyle fee for valet trash.Staff at front changed the entire time from leasing agents to managers. The residents here are disrespectful and dirty. Dog urine and feces in elevator and hallways. Stank trash left out in the hallways. If you do use the trash chutes residents just leave trash NEAR the chute so its stinks awful and you step over trash ooze. People shooting music videos and taking photos on the street with there fancy cars. Broke down vehicles left in garage and on the street which is where guests park. You will often see people figuring out ways to keep the secure doors open IE hangers and all sorts of creative ways to leave the building open and burglar ready. Dog poop all over outside in front of the building, side of the building, ramps, sidewalks. 8th floor dog run is disgusting. Take your dog here if you want to pick up diseases for sure.Garage door was always having issues. Garage would be left open for weeks. Skim the reviews to see all the broken in vehicles and cars on blocks.I have lived in several apartments in River Oaks over the last 15 years - this is the ONLY apartment I have ever lived in that wants to keep my full $600 deposit and is asking me to pay them an extra $13! They are charging to replace the carpets $500. I called and spoke to the corporate office and asked but dont you change the carpet for all residents. I was told its in the lease. Charged me for a fridge cleaning, lightbulbs, paint. I was confused speaking to the corporate office. I asked arent these standard that you do for every new resident. The lady on the phone just kept saying that each apartment complex is different.Different is a great way to describe my experience at Gables Post Oak from all the other apartments I have lived in.Update 1/3/24. Please see below fake comment from this peice of crap apartment saying on google they want to turn my experience around. I reached out as requested to below and no one ever respond.
I have lived in Gables Post Oak for 5 years, and the Gables support has deteriorated significantly in the last months. It’s evident that they are reducing the maintenance services. In the last months, I had two events that could be defined as ‘urgent’ during the weekend regarding door lock and fridge (as per the Gables guidelines), and I didn’t receive any timely support from Gables. For the door lock, I had to contact a locksmith to be able to enter in my apartment and replace the door lock. After 5 months I am still waiting to be reimbursed. Also, during a preventive maintenance visit, one employee reset the water/ice filter system in the fridge, without replacing the filter itself. I referred the filter has been red for several months and it would need to be replaced… I was told to put a maintenance request ticket. After submitting a maintenance request ticket, another Gables employee came to my apartment to replace the filter, but as it was reset (green), he didn’t replace the filter … This is quite concerning, as it would affect the water / ice quality from the fridge dispenser that the tenants are consuming daily.Another concern is that several tenants don’t follow the guidance for trash pickup, and put their trash in the corridor sometimes for 2 consecutive days. Gables has reinforced the guidelines per email, however as no one from Gables walks frequently in the corridors and reinforce the guidelines with the tenants, sometimes the smell is unbearable.I really hope Gables Post Oak review their approach, and the employees in the leasing office start to be more empathetic with their tenants. It’s frustrating to go and speak with the team in the leasing office, and not have any support.
As much as I love staying here, the mail system is horrendous, and I’m not talking about Fetch. That’s a whole other thing. I’m talking about items that come in an envelope. Many times my mail will never reach me and get returned back to sender, saying that I don’t live here when I do, AND my name is in my mailbox as well. If you lose your card and need a new debit/credit card, don’t get it mailed here, if someone is sending you important documents, don’t get it sent here. Put a friend’s address, or you will never get it. Something needs to be done. I’ve talked to the front desk many times and they have no idea themselves. Instead they tell me to call the post office to where I’m on hold for an hr+ for the call to just be disconnected. I like living here but ready to move so I can actually use my own address to get my mail, instead of putting my friends addresses down to recieve mail.
We have lived at Gables Post Oak for 52 months! We had some really good experiences living there. We had great neighbors and a great community. The front office was also good. They became more like family as the time went on! My pup Maggie loved everyone up front too! She needed her snack from their treat jar and then from property managers drawer! We left on a bittersweet note as we purchased a house. But we would have stayed longer if it werent for the next chapter! Highly recommend checking this complex out.
I absolutely love it here! The team is amazing, the property is beautiful and the amenities are on point!
I have been here at Gables since February of this year. Life happens and it was extremely hard starting over. But thanks to an amazing team, Adrian, the Manager and her supporting staff, Jasmine and Natalie, our move has been great so far. If you’re not ready for outstanding service from the Manager down to Maintenance, then don’t move here lol
Lived at Gables Post Oak for two years. Stay away, they provide below average standard of living. Maintenance staff is very friendly and for the most part will resolve issues in a timely manner. They do take great pride in having food trucks stop by weekly to serve overly greasy food. However, this place does not value its residents. They wanted to increase our rent for our third year, once we decided not to renew, found out that they put our apartment for lease lower than the current rate we were paying. They take no accountability for issues that arise; garage door always broken and left open during the night with multiple cars being broken into. The pool seems to always have issues and down for multiple weeks. Fire alarms went off during the middle of the night many times in the two years we were there. Elevators are not well kept on weekends with smell of dog pee. Just recently, they had to shut down the water for an entire day and they fell to notify residents with at least a 24-hour notice. Very loud street noise which makes it unenjoyable to keep balcony door open.
I moved back to Houston after a few years out of state and knew I would most likely be moving into one of Gables many locations around town. After visiting several locations, I knew this complex was a great pick since it is centrally located to everything I need in the city ranging from shopping, food, night life and sports events (all within a 10-15 min Uber). The spaciousness of my unit was a big seller, since the layouts at this location have a lot more usable area with similar square footage compared to other apartments Ive seen and lived in that feel more closed and crammed. Covered and secured gated parking are also a plus and Ive had no issues with theft as some other reviews I read mentioned. In fact, I had a mislabeled package that was mistakenly delivered to a neighbor returned to me just the other day. To top it all off, the staff here have been by far the best part. Theyve addressed any and all issues or concerns Ive had since moving in. Everything I have brought to there attention has been handled in a quick, complete and thorough manner. They are friendly and greet me and my dog by name whenever we come through the lobby as well as have treats for him. Between a great location, size/layout, and staff for a reasonable price, I cant think of a better place than Gables at Post Oak.
*** updated Jan 2024This is now our 7th year (!!!!!) living here! There has been alot of turnover with office staff, but we really enjoy seeing Jasmine and the team when passing through. Due to the new parcel delivery service you don’t see the office staff as much anymore but they are still always super welcoming and keen to ask and understand if there is anything you need help with! The maintence team remain awesomeAnd issues are resolved quickly and swiftly.!—————So let me start by saying I love it here! My family and I moved in after Hurricane Harvey when we lost our previous home. The leasing manager Jamie was extremely kind and helpful during what was a traumatic time ensuring that we had a smooth and easy transition.Since then we have had such a positive experience with both leasing staff and the maintenance team. Moriah in the office is always extremely willing to help with any question or concern no matter how small.I suffered from a serious accident towards the end of 2018 which resulted in our family being away from home for an additional 5 days. I contacted the office to ask them to provide a key to a friend to check on our cats, and they immediately offered to do so as well. Whilst my friend was in the apartment Shannon, the manager came in to give them some treats! I cant tell you what a relief it was to know there was someone so willing to help during an uncertain time for us.Since my accident the maintenance team constantly enquire after my progress when they see my husband and send well wishes. I also love seeing their interactions with our cats whilst they do routine maintenance in the apartment!Hands down the best decision we made was to move here and I look forward to staying here for the foreseeable future.
Ive had a great experience Jasmine in the leasing office is top tier! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the facility.
I have lived at this complex for a over year now and I LOVE IT!! Reading other reviews on here, I am not sure what they are talking about. The management team will move heaven and earth to help you with anything you need. They are kind, respectful, and respond quickly to any issue you have. The maintenance team is also wonderful. They will fix any problem, large or small, effectively and efficiently. During the week, all maintenance requests are handled within 24 hours. On the weekends, non-emergency requests are handled Monday morning. I HIGHLY recommend this building to anyone looking in the River Oaks area. I look forward to renewing my lease in the future.Update: After living here almost 2 years, I will not be renewing my lease. The things that I loved about this apartment 2 years ago are no longer present. The wonderful management team is (mostly gone). The maintenance team is backed up due to so many renovations and the emergency repairs that these lead to. The impeccable security, is not so impeccable anymore, with doors being propped open by workers and a garage door that is broken a lot. The area is still great, if you can handle some of the issues.
Reena was great! Hopefully everything is perfect when I move in
Resided at the Gables for two years in Unit 203 and had a positive experience. Centrally located in the galleria area, close to dining and my favorite place memorial park. Luv the pool and gym😀😀😀The property Manager Adian is the best!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Always attentive and courteous.. Adrian is the consummate professional and a credit to the Gables organization. My move out wse due to job relocation and I will definitely selected Gables again if I was moving back to Houston.Kudos and Bravo to Adrian 🎉🎉🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️ #YouDaBest!!!Thank you for such a smooth move out😀😀
I only lived here for 9 months when I moved to Houston for work but I have had a wonderful experience in this short period. The apartments are well made (to nearly condo specs) and I dont hear the sounds of neighbors around me through the walls. The quality of finishes is great. Very reasonably priced for the location. Staff are friendly and courteous. Love the Gables community and Im only moving because I am not going to be living in Houston anymore!
Great location and thick walls are the good. When I moved here I thought I was paying this luxury living premium $$$$ so that I could be safe and in a nice area River Oaks right?!? Soon after I moved in they switched from package lockers to an App called Fetch which is also a one ⭐️ awful service. I couldn’t have been more wrong regarding safety my car was stolen from this location and as the prices keep rising in rent and the billing is always sketch. Most of 2021 the garage was broken due to having to build a new motor every week there were cars on blocks. The entry garage door is always broken and I am not left feeling safe here. There is a high turnover in staff which is also an indication of poor management. Coffee machine is almost always not working asking for new tablets. They do whatever they want and do not care about retaining residents. There was just an AR shooting man gunned down at 6:10 pm on 3.30.23 on San Felipe and Midlane! #rawtruth #cynworldoftruth #gablesisawful
I do not recommend this place, my girl have been living here for a year and she been have a lot of problems with lost packages, fake alarm all the time and nobody knows why!
Very satisfied with my living situation here at the Gables, I am new to the Houston area from San Antonio, all though the cost of living is higher the services and hospitality provided by Gables meets my expectations. The friendly maintenance crew and security with FOB accessibility in the elevators makes me feel safe in such a big city! I love the parking garage how there is always space available for myself and any visitors I may have, also covered so my vehicle is secure throughout the evening! The people occupying the building are all friendly as well, no bad vibes, young professionals, retirees and small families. An associate that works there, Jakori is a very pleasant young gentleman, extremely professional, and willing to help all those who enter with inquiries, whether it be residents, delivery, you name it and he is on it! When I am picking up a package I hear how he handles situations with confidence and excellent verbiage, great customer service with a welcoming smile.
I absolutely love my new apartment! The management are great! My move in process was very smooth. The apartments itself are stunning. Locally you are essentially close to everything. Great restaurants and bars nearby! Also, the amenities in the apartments are great! Nice size pool and fitness room!
Let me start off by saying the staff is great! They have been very accommodating and Jamie the former manager was awesome. I give this place a lower review due to noise. Prior to this I lived in a home and knew that it was going to be different. However, Ive live in apartments all my life and was only in a home for 3 years. This place has a noise issue, its always something. Last night I was up every hour and heard a banging noise the entire time. To be miserable and pay what you pay is just not good. During the easter holiday had an issue with one of my neighbors playing loud music and couldnt reach anyone so had to deal with it on my own. Its just always something and its just not peaceful for that reason I wouldnt recommend this place. Just my honest opinion.
Ive been a resident/tenant for 3 years but the new changes are awful. The most obvious is the re-design of the hallways. Management changed from a prestigious cream color (grey pillars) with nice carpeting to a cheap looking royal blue despite complaints from residents. The overall appearance with all the new changes including the change to the elevator makes the place look more like a Quality Inn than a nice hotel that it used to resemble.Management doesnt do a good job when it comes to listening to tenants and making changes that reflect the tenants need. Please do better.
Very spacious and beautiful apartments! The pool area is great among other amenities. People at the office are very friendly and Jakori was the best! Took extra steps to accommodate my needs and make sure I was fully happy and satisfied with my apartment! Will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Not worth the money to rent here. As stated in other reviews, the property is all about nickeling and diming their residents. “Changes” made the complex look worse than it did previously, the garage is always a mess and cars getting broken into. Was told by management that when moving out early, my account charges would go away once new tenant moved in (after already paying 7 weeks of extra rent + $1200 fees) they are trying to charge me another 2k. STAY AWAY, all they care about is maximizing money in their pockets, they don’t care about maximizing customer satisfaction. Would give 0 stars if I could :)
The staff here at Gables Post Oak is amazing! They make sure they are available and they work diligently to address any issues that arise. A few months back there was a misunderstanding with the towing company because I was in a rental car while my car was being repaired and it was towed without notifying the leasing office. I contacted the office and they got right on it and had my car returned in less than an hour!!
I have lived at the Gables Post Oak for the past year. Its a great place to live. Friendly neighbors, friendly maintenance crew, and friendly office staff! We have a pup and they have been so kind to her! They have treats in the office that she loves to eat! Its a very dog friendly complex. One of the best parts is there is a covered dog park on the 8th floor so when it is raining we dont have to go down to the street. I also like the package lockers. I dont have to rush home from work to get to the office before they close. The office also holds resident events which is really nice. It helps me get to know the community and the staff. Moriah and Shannon really helped when it came to renewing our lease. They went above and beyond for us! We just renewed for another 12 months.
The moment we stepped foot on the grounds of Gables Post Oak, we knew it was the perfect place for us to live. Having two dogs, the dog park on level 8 and the beautiful park down the street (perfect for walks) sold us. We are so incredibly happy to be here and proud to call this our home!By the way, I noticed some older comments on the staff here - I have to say, the staff they are referring to must have left because we have had nothing but a positive experience with the current staff. We actually adore them and are so grateful for everything they do, and they do it with an enthusiastic smile! I want to point out that before we were even residents here, whenever we would come in to visit and view the property/sign lease/etc., we were always greeted with the utmost respect and positivity. Weve also observed first hand the extreme patience and professionalism of Victoria, who has dealt with some challenging residents in the most affable and considerate way. Both Victoria and Moriah have been incredible to us. Live here - you wont regret it.
The move in process was seamless. The office management team is amazing. The residents are so sweet and welcoming. The amenities are awesome. My apartment is breathtaking, the high ceilings, windows, views, and Bluetooth speakers are omgg😍 I love it here!
The staff is what makes this place great. The view, the location, and amenities are just a bonus. Gables Post Oak is the perfect distance to all of the best shopping and food. Its not so close that youre burdened with traffic but its not too far that you can get there in less than 5 min. The complex is top of the line with a great pool and great views!
When I first moved here a few year ago I loved it but it has gone down hill since the change in management. There’s homeless people living on the roof of the parking garage. For 2k a month they should provide 24/7 security.
We toured this property and Jakori was the best leasing agent ever, he stayed late and was excellent both days we went to tour different floor plans. Jamie the manager was also there and came out to talk to us, she was very friendly and helpful too. They also followed up with us a couple days later, the best leasing service we saw in Houston so far and we are apartment hunting so we toured about 30 properties!
The location is good and the rent is somewhat average for the area, but you have to watch the fine print. This particular management company has taken to charging excessive fees for everything and making it mandatory for all residents no matter how absurd the fee is or if it applies to you. For example they have a valet trash collection fee that is charged to all residents every month where you can set a can out in the evening during a set block of time (and bring it back in after that set block of time) and someone will come by and empty it for you, I have seen one person actually utilize this service over the past year and have seen the collector walking down the halls in the evening with nothing to collect, but everyone has to pay it even though they do not want it. Want to have a package delivered? The office will no longer accept them, you have to pay another fee for a locker. Managements favorite game has to do with lease renewals where they attempt to hold residents to a 60 day notification period to move out, but never deliver a notice of proposed rents until a few weeks before the lease is out in an effort to slam you into signing an extension or attempting to accept paying them rents they actually are not entitled to. The worst part is that when the extension offer letter arrives they post date them. It is not surprising at all to receive a letter in July with a date of May on it. Like I said the location is good and the advertised rent is roughly average for the rea, but get ready to be hit with fees for everything, this year there is even a new additional fee to sign a lease extension, think about that one for a moment. Maintenance staff is nice and makes minor repairs promptly, but anything major usually takes negotiation with property management. Parking is free, but a year ago they started siphoning off parking for reserved spots that could be purchased on a monthly basis. many sat open for the months before cars began parking in them. Property could be quite good, but the management company needs to clean itself up until they do you should consider alternatives.
Everytime i come to the office at Gables Post Oak I feel so welcome! It’s clean, smells good and the team always tends to whatever questions or concerns I have. The manager Kelly and assistant manager JaKori have no problem going above and beyond to see that their residents are satisfied. Would easily recommend this community to anyone looking for a new home.
By far the worst management. While doing a job in the building I was asked to leave my driver license. Upon completing my job at 6pm. The office was closed and I couldn’t retrieve my ID. I called maintenance the emergency contact number on the building. All to no avail. They refuse to send any back to open office. This resulted in me having to reschedule my 6a flight and entire vacation. Only to come back down there the following day for Sara to I’m sorry. We can’t get the money back from our hotel and this completely ruined our vacation plans.
I did not lease here due to personal reasons, however Alexander and the team are amazing! I hope to lease here with this team in the future, I absolutely love the apartment complex hope to live here in the future as well.
I moved here 5 months ago and it is an unbiased review that can be useful for people who are thinking about living in this complex. In the first few months, I experienced several failures of appliances and I had to call the office several times to have them repaired or replaced then ended up using a washer and dryer on another floor for several weeks before getting the washer and dryer fixed. Then they start using fetch and at first, they told residents it is free but now they are charging for that. this is the only complex that charges twice for trash disposal under different names in your bill, but at the end of the day, you yourself should take your trash downstairs as there is not any specific time for valet trash to pick them up. even if I try to not consider the mentioned problems, the most recent problem with this complex is the multiple items that they include in your bill. They charge extra for the items that are part of complex responsibility like boiler maintenance!!!! Moreover, my bill for sewer, water, ... has been tripled in comparison to last month and I the funny part is that when I ask for the reason they tell me to go and talk with the third party company that handles these fees and it is not related to us, it is not only my issue I have talked to some of the residents and they all are not satisfied with their way of handling these issues!! I moved to this complex because I thought it is a good place but from the first day, there have been several issues. So, if you want to move to this complex, please do more research before taking the decision.
Unsafe, property (car) vandalism, no security, many false fire alarms. difficult to communicate and get results from leasing staff and managementNot a good value for price. I don’t recommend it
I recently moved to Houston and hunting for habitation. I drove past Gables at Post Oaks and decided to drop in, I was immediately greeted with smiling faces. My experience with JaKori, the assistant property manager was an absolute wonderful one. JaKori met all my needs and expectations showing me various units and taking the time to explain all of the amenities and offerings of the community. He was exceptionally thorough throughout the entire process communicating back-and-forth with me in a timely manner and I truly appreciate his humble and down to earth disposition.
I have lived at Gables Post Oak a little over two years now and I love it as much as I did when I first moved-in! I am a stickler for grounds and upkeep of a building and Gables Post Oak is immaculate! Even with a few changes over the years the office staff and maintenance has always been wonderful to work with. It’s the ideal location for living in the loop, with a residential tucked away feel! I feel like I never want to leave this place!
Hi,I’ve been here about 6 weeks now. The property is Very nice, safe area. The staff is absolutely amazing and so are my neighbors. I feel like one big family here. Everyone is always smiling and so happy. Sydney & Ja’kori are the best! They helped move me in during Covid. I highly recommend this place. The units are nice and a lot of floor planes are available. I’m in LOVE with my floor plan. Gables post oak always try to have an “outside” food truck come to give back to the residents sense we can’t be In small areas with big crowds. They went above and beyond for me. The applying process was easy and smooth. If you don’t live at Gables post oak why live? Lol ❤️Kevin D.
In the name of everything good and pure please vet incoming residents. Night runs along the hallway and loud obnoxious noises are quite a nuisance. The 8th floor patio is a breeding ground for loud and uncouth residents and their ill mannered guests. Some of us have to be up early to go to work and some of us need adequate rest even if we work from home. For $2000+ /month, I am paying for a luxury apartment not a two bit cheap hotel resort!
Stefani was amazing, she covered all the bases!
Amazing location and interiors. Feel good home. Ive lived here for a little over 3 years on the 8th floor facing Post Oak road.Apartments have great views of the Uptown skyline and the bluetooth in built speakers was my personal highlight among the many good things in this place. Accessible to getting on/off the freeway without getting stuck in inner roads. Helped a lot during rush hour traffic/construction work to have the option to take any of the 3 exits on 610 with considerably the same time to get home.A notable point - I lived here during Harvey in 2017. There was no flood on this particular street and no power outages or building damages. Good security systems, spacious business center, coolest sundeck spot with a bar and nice bunch of neighbors. The staff and maintenance team are very responsive and approachable- shout out to Yvonne, Jamie and Jakori along with the rest of the team.
We loved living at the Gables Post Oak! Great Neighborhood and amenities! Quiet neighbors and clean facilities.Always plenty of parking. We were on the 6th floor facing downtown and loved the sunrise views. Staff and management always responsive and great!
The management team wont sign for your packages. A bunch of my packages got returned to senders. Some of them came from Japan, which I have been waiting for for months. Now I dont even know how to deal with the seller in Japan to get a refund or have them ship it out again. And the staff dont even have the courtesy to email you or let you know what they did when you ask about those packages. This is terrible. When I first moved in, this was a lovely place. Once the current management team came in, it went down hill. They treated us like a bunch of kids, sent out condescending emails and imposed ridiculous rules. The only good thing left is the maintenance team as they are always nice and prompt. Im moving out as soon as I can.
Lived here for a year. Excellent place, excellent staff, excellent pool. The facility was very clean and everyone in building was nice. The parking facility was easy and convenient, especially once the parking rules were actually enforced. Great location near the Galleria and Memorial Park as well. Only left because of a job change.
Jasmine and Alexander have been an AMAZING help with everything, going above and beyond. If I could give 100 stars I would.
No serious complaints aside from a tiny/always packed gym and that the building switched to Fetch delivery. I have packages go missing/late all the time and Gables has no control over the third party vendor. With a pretty sizable rent increase this year, I would love to see a shift away from Fetch and updates to the gym/garage doors
Alex was the best, he helped us with all our questions and provided the best solutions. Thanks, Alex, for all your support and help!
I love living here but have not had the most positive experience with the office staff, Jamie in particular. I think one of the pros of living in a luxury apartment is that the office staff treats you with respect and is helpful when issues arise, and I dont feel that was the case with my most recent experience.
I have lived here for a year. The staff is amazing! They go above and beyond for the residents. Moriah and Laura are the best! I had to do an internal move and the whole team made it seamless from Shannon to the maintenance staff. I love this community!
Reena was very welcoming and helpful and made my apartment search easy and non stressful!
Don’t lease here. Now that I have been at another apartment in Houston and moved out of that apartment, I can say it with confidence that there are better options in the same area.Since this other apartment has the same PROS, I will talk about CONS only.CONS+hallway always smells like trash.+high water bill.-Around $70 ish, for months that I was home 1 week out of the month, it was around $50. Your last month’s bill will be an avg of what you used. I spoke with Anita (leasing office staff) about the water bill, and she told me she used to pay ~$100 at a different apartment complex. Telling me $70 is cheaper than what she was paying didnt resolve anything for me... my water bill was around $15-$20 at this other apartment complex.+Unprofessional, unhelpful leasing office staff.-they always try to argue with you instead of trying to work with you.+They charge you for every little thing to take your entire deposit and throw away your valuables if somehow you forget to pack it without giving you an option to pick it up and charge you for forgetting it.+Tiny gym and old equipment+They are really good at towing cars, but not very good at protecting residents cars being broken into and etc.+parking garage - Before you lease here, definitely get a feel of going up to the 5th floor to park before signing. You will not see a parking spot on the lower floors after 5 pm, and with the garage being so small, you will get annoyed of going up and down just to get out.+8th floor dog park - It collects rain on rainy days, and you will see yellow water everywhere on rainy days. Even just a light rain.
Apartment complex is not up to par. officially moved in on February 11, 2021. inside the apartment, there’s a wet stain on the ceiling, coming from a leaked a/c system. notified the front office and maintenance. maintenance said he “fixed” the issue but there’s still a wet stain on the ceiling. also, the right closet door knob is not bolted to the door. It keeps falling off every time I open the closet door. The gym is unsanitary. Equipment is dirty and looks like maintenance barely wipe them down. They don’t even have sanitizing machines. The owner doesn’t invest in this complex and it shows. Also, there’s a mildew type smell in the hallway by my unit. All of this is unacceptable. Hopefully this is my last year in an apartment. If not, I am definitely moving out after my lease.
The property was beautiful and Alexander gave a great tour. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the property and all that it has to offer.
From the time I entered the office to my tour of the property I knew it was home. The funny part is I havent even moved into my apartment just yet, but Im approved and ready to sign my lease! I love my apartment location, the amenities, and so much more! All thanks to a great management team onsite. I want to personally thank my leasing professional Jay Gattanella, for his professionalism, character, and patience. Thank you Gables, I look forward to smooth movie-in this month. EXCEPTIONAL STAFF AT GABLES POST OAK !!!
Been living here for a year. Worst customer service I have ever seen. Lots of overcharges every months. In one case I was charged extra $500 and after multiple calls and emails, it took them months to process the credit. They have a third party company for payment/charges issues, and they too have terrible customer service. Think twice before moving here!!
Great location, but current staff struggles with anything other than leasing a unit. Ive lived here for 3 years and I can say that the last 12 months (even prior to COVID) the overall quality has gone down tremendously. Things such as following up on complaints (one issue we had continued for 4 months), staffs unwillingness to work on topics with residents (rate increase by 13% at renewal and staff was not willing to negotiate to something reasonable), and basic customer service (if they actually pick up the phone it seems as they are doing you a favor). Save yourself from the trouble.Other current residents are having the same or even worse issues (maintenance problems due to mold, leaks, etc.) and past residents whom left within the last 12 months all share the same thought. There are better options in the area for the price. Dont say I didnt warn you!
Gables Post Oaks have been nothing but AMAZING. I love the staff Alexander is one of the greatest property managers I have met 10/10 recommend
Alex has been amazing! Sad to leave this apartment community!
Great upscale living in the heart of the Uptown Park/ Galleria area. With wonderful amenties of salt water pool, 24 hour resident lounge, Dog park and state of the art fitness center. The leasing staff is professional and very helpful. The apartment themselves have great finishings and space. Wonderful place to call home.
Alexander walked me around the whole property to see every single 2 bedroom available! Great personality and a lot of patience thank you again!
Jakori is the best leasing agent! His attitude is great and he doesn’t have a problem going out his way to help his residents. I highly recommend talking to the staff if you have a problem because they’ll do everything they can to help you. Everyone is super friendly and we’re lucky to call Gables our home!
I have enjoyed my experience thus far as a resident. I will say the staff has already gone over and above expectation. I’m definitely excited about being a resident. My apartment is beautiful. The amenities are wonderful. Thank you!
I lived here for 22 months with a roommate.Pros-Walls thick, dont hear anything-Once inside the hallways, feels very safe-Jakori was friendly and helpful-Great areaCons-Rest of staff and management was not responsive at all-Fire alarm went off many times during my stay, often very late at night-Roommates bike was stolen, garage not secure-Hallways often smelled like weed
The management team really makes this place awful. Completely uncooperative. We are having some issues with possible mail theft, and we wanted to review surveillance footage, and we first get excuses of how the cameras arent angled in a manner to even view the mail room, and finally get a response that we will need a subpoena if we want to look at the footage at all.Theyve also done nothing else to ensure our mail safety in this regard. Weve asked if they can change the mail lock, and first we get a response that they cant because its USPS property, and then the response is we have to pay them for it. Entire mail box columns are left open over night (I have photo evidence), and they do not care. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I love living at Post oak. The manager Adrian is amazing and really made me feel at home. I have recommended this place to all my friends.
First off let me say i have been living here since 2019 and i have seen a lot of good and bad changes with management and i can’t lie this new has hanged it in a good way! It did start off rocky as all new journeys do but im happy i have been here as long as i have i love it here
Stay away from this community! Office staff sucks. Very unprofessional. they always want to argu with you and most of the time the garage gets doesn’t work and stuff always gets stolen from the parking, no camera In parking good luck with your car....only one guest to the pool or they kick you out. Once I moved out they nickel and dimed me for everything such as a broken key fob and it wasn’t even my fault. It broke on its own. If you don’t return the piece of plastic guest pool passes($25), painting and repairing walls (another $50), cleaning oven ($20). Your light bulb went out($15) Come on! Lol... Read all the other comments for this community and they will confirm how terrible this place is.
Tonight Feb 22, 2020 on the inside parking lot there were 25+ cars broken into. My car was one of them. My car has dash cam, so everything supposed to be recorded. If I had received timely call from management I might be able to provide valuable video of accident. UNFORTUNATELY I didn’t receive any timely call from management and information was lost (new video recorded on top). Management spams me constantly with all useless info about taco trucks and forgets my contacts when it is really urgent situation and it is crucial to be proactive. Everyone who wants to live here... don’t.
The leasing experience was quick and easy! Olga Stepanova has been so helpful and efficient dealing with last minute unit changes! The whole team has been great through the move in process!
GABLES MAINTENANCE STAFF: by far the most professional, knowledgeable and efficient maintenance staff Ive encountered. Arturo, manager of maintenance operations, truly goes above and beyond to serve the residents & has been incredibly helpful to me over the past two years. Superb
Ive only been here for 3 days, but the staff is very friendly, organized and the process of moving in was very simple. Rooms were well cleaned and in very good shape.
Epic place to live, so clean and on point with maintenance. Safety is very high and neighbors are just awesome to be around. The management team are really friendly and take care of any requests ASAP.
Just now moving in but the experience has been outstanding! The whole office has been helpful and accommodating! I love how the halls are kept clean and neat and the grounds are the same. I can not wait to enjoy everything!
Such an amazing community! The customer service and the leasing team is 5 starts I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in the post oak location
The staff is amazing and sooo helpful, especially Natalie! She has helped my move-in process from start to finish and goes above and beyond for residents.
My experience has been nothing but first class here! The amenities are first class, the staff is the most kind and professional I have encountered. They go above and beyond! I feel safe and like I live in an upscale hotel!
The apartment is very spacious, the management is extremely helpful, and friendly.
Great community. Management is very attentive and friendly. Alex is the best!
It has been so great thus far. Im very excited about living here. The staff has been very helpful and I really enjoy all of the amenities that this apartment has to offer!
The front desk staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful! :)
Love living here, staff is great..love watching the sun rise from my sofa
Went to visit this location and I was over the top thrilled at the facility. The staff was very welcoming when I walked in. I toured with Jakori and he was so pleasant with answered every question I had during the tour. I’m really considering making this location my new home!😁
Appreciate Jasmine Garcia for her professionalism and promptness to accommodate the various needs I have had as a long time resident at Gables Post Oak in Houston, Texas
Awesome apartments! spacious and classy.the management (specially Jakori) made sure I never had issues at all.
Have lived here since 2015 and nothing but good things to say about the property and staff. Both the maintenance and leasing staff do an amazing job.
The entire process was quick and easy. From the initial phone call, until I was in my place was less than 24 hours. Jakori was very professional and made everything so simple.
The staffs and management crews are great. Alexander helps a lot to residents!
Love living here! Leasing office staff goes above and beyond for their residents and makes this community truly one of a kind.
I love this apartment complex, the best part of all is the view of uptown from my balcony 🥰💕. The entire staff from maintenance crew to the leasing office staff are amazing.
I’ve been calling them for the past 3 days. We submitted an application for approval and no one will respond to calls or emails. We’re moving from Las Vegas and need to find a place to stay. Guess I have to ask myself if they won’t respond now how would it be if I where actually living there...
I’ve had a good experience at Gables Post Oak. I like the feeling of home in this community. The area is private, quiet and safe. The staff is very attentive.
Beautiful, clean, and serene complex. Not a single complaint! My boyfriend and I love Gables Post Oak.
Gables team are all so nice, definitely recommending our family and friends!
Great! Nothing but good things to say. Great staff, always clean and fix things quickly. Very responsive and know my face. Love living here. Great location too!
Sitting in the office for over 30 minutes and no one is here to help my husband and I . The staff is literally no where to be found and the property manager is not here AGAIN … judging by the reviews maybe this isn’t a place for us
Great place to live. Close to everything. Schools churches grocery stores and speciality clothing stores. Very safe and secure neighborhood. Great office staff. Always very helpful.
Love living here maintenance is always on point.
Very happy here. Jasmine and Natalie in the leasing office are both wonderful!
Such wonderful leasing staff and community! They are so friendly and helpful, and very responsive. I am so glad to call this place home!
Biggest regret moving to this worthless apartment. Be warned, a very dangerous and expensive endeavor.
DO NOT SIGN A LEASE AT THIS PLACE. THE OFFICE STAFF ARE SO INCOMPETENT...THEY MIS-QUOTED ME THE LEASE AMOUNT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THEN, I SIGNED A WRONG LEASE AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $575 APPLICATION FEE WHEN IT WAS THEIR ERROR ON THE LEASE AGREEMENT. TRUST ME THERE ARE BETTER PLACES YOU CAN LIVE...DO NOT GO WITH THIS CROOKED PLACE!
