They were very unprofessional and lacked communication. Wasnt told about needing to pay the closing cost by cashiers check or wire transfer until Friday after the credit union already stopped doing transfers which left me to have to pay for a hotel room for my kids and myself for the week end. I was not able to do the wire transfer until that Monday. Monday rolls around at 10am I complete the wire transfer and was told by Asi it would take about an hour to receive. The original contact person was Ashley and decided she didnt want to speak to me anymore regarding this process, she didnt say it but again I was being contacted by someone else at the title company instead of Ashley. I waited and waited and didnt hear back so around 1:45p and was told Asi was out of the office but Ashely was on her way back to the office and they could take a message. Again no return call and I decided to contact my realtor and was asked how everything went, my response was nothing happened. I explained to her the process of me completing the wire transfer and calling but not hearing anything back. She emailed Ashley who responded saying they received the funds from the lender and she was about to submit the wire transfer, my realtor emailed back and said she going to tell me I could pick up my keys, Ashley responded by saying PERFECT. Needless to say by then I was at work so had to pay for the hotel room another 2 nights because come to find out there were no utilities on at the house. My realtor ended up picking the keys up for me and meeting me at the hotel. 🙃

We closed today on a home (were the buyers) and I can say that Texas American Title was unprofessional, unorganized and unprepared...WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Their actions (or lack thereof) lead to a headache filled closing. We (and our realtor) were told conflicting information leading up to close which created confusion and extra work. We also had to go to their office twice because they missed places we needed to sign for which they were unapologetic and told us these are the borrowers documents insinuating it was our fault. They miscommunicated status updates (I would hate to assume they were just flat out lying) and when I called to follow-up; the funder (Avie?) was rude and snarky. Each step was messy and rushed with a convenient excuse waiting for any objection. They were quick to place blame on other parties or circumstances with one email blaming delays due to her internet browser is not loading. In fact; they used loading documents as an excuse twice in two days. The seller also had similar frustrations so its just too many incompetencies to overlook.

We had a great experience here, Clare Medlock handled our file and really went above and beyond in making sure we had a smooth transaction, even opening a few minutes early to accommodate my clients. Thank you!Eddie Weir, Realtor JLA Realty

This company, specifically the location on Yale St., struggle with professional courtesy, candor, and unethical practices especially if you’re a person of color and live an alternative lifestyle. When a deed error was brought to the Branch Manager’s attention, she became unresponsive and uncooperative. When the lender drafted a corrective deed to rectify the situation, the branch manager refused to file the instrument then contacted the original owners and coerced them not to sign the corrective deed. This situation and her behavior is unacceptable and disturbing. I would never recommend this company to a home buyer or realtor.

The communication and professionalism are disturbing. I never received fully executed closing documents; it’s been a month. No response or slow response times. Not a great experience. Go elsewhere!
