I called on late Saturday as my heating system wasn’t working. Derek came and fixed the issue. He was very prompt, courteous and showed me before and after pictures of what he did. I will definitely use their service again.

BEST AC outfit in Houston, period. Excellent from beginning to end. From signing up for annual inspections with the very helpful customer service folks to Greg performing the inspection. I was provided a color coded post inspection report that was super easy to understand. Truly the BEST value as far AC companies go here in Houston! Top notch!

After contacting John Bell for assistance in some additional outside work we received immediate response and two techs were sent the very next day. Daniel and Ivus came to our home and were extremely courteous and polite. First off let me say that I hardly ever write reviews on anything or anyone, but I feel compelled to let others know about Northwind AC.Over the last year we have had numerous A/C companies over to diagnose our issue and have found a vast range of knowledge and customer service in the industry. It felt like everyone was “guessing” the answer and had bids from $200 to $6000 to repair.We reached out to Northwind and have since had two different techs out to the house (Jonathon and Raphael). I am completely floored by each of these guys. Both of them sat with us for as long as it took to explain our issue, asked pointed questions to fully understand and then went to work diagnosing the systems flaws. I can tell that the customer experience is just as important than the actual AC work they do. Never pressured upsell (that happens a lot) and never felt like they needed to rush to the next call.Kudos to Northwind A/C. Y’all made a long time customer.

Addy performed my new system QC check. He intently listened to my concerns regarding high humidity thermostat reading in the master bedroom. He measured the humidity and corrected the thermostat reading. He gave me tips for how to use the system fan to circulate the air and minimize the humidity.He instructed me how to connect the thermostat to my phone which was so easy and will be very useful when I am traveling, but want to run the AC. I had a lot of questions and Addy addressed them all. He customized the Home Screen of the thermostat to show the system info of interest to me.He also helped me with an unrelated issue I especially appreciated. Addy went above and beyond to make sure my system operates optimally.

Brigette was a very knowledgeable Sales Rep and did a great job coordinating with the install team. The previous unit was 31 years old. Our home had a unique addition that did not allow for easy access. A return was installed and the crew had to crawl back through the eaves to that part of the house. Kevin came and checked on the install and was very polite and professional. I am having issues with another unit that a different AC company installed and I am having Northwind come and service it. I found Northwind AC on the Michael Berry Show and they are definitely a 5 Star organization.

John communicated well during a QC follow-up roughly 6-months after system installation. Communicated arrival time, seemed to not rush, gave the highlights, cleaned up his work space.

Ralph did awesome communicating what the issue was and what was needed to repair it. Highly recommend him and Northwind for your ac/heater needs!

Called for an emergency repair, they were very responsive. Raphael was very knowledgeable and worked tirelessly in the rain to repair my system and did a great job. Highly recommended!

Northwinds replaced our supply plenum and we enrolled in their annual preventative maintenance. Its a bit pricey, but the techs have been great. Tre visited for our annual inspection today, and spent the extra time to resolve an issue for us.

Derek S. was my tech this time. He was amazing. Got here right in time. Knew exactly what was wrong with my unit, but did a thorough check of everything. Had my part replaced and my unit up and running within an hour. So thankful for his service.

I mistakenly called their on call service center but was still given a non emergency appointment for same day. A young lady called a few hours later to tell me that Daniel was en route to the stop before mine and to make sure all the info was correct and informed me of their yearly plan. I quickly took her up on her offer! Daniel Sanchez was wonderful! He called 30 minutes before arrival, as told to me by the young lady who called. He came over to tune up both our units. Even though it was blistering hot outside, he was still very polite, took his time to make sure everything was inspected properly, and gave us some info on our systems. We truly value his time and his professionalism and appreciate the fun baseball conversation.

Greg Little always arrives at the promised time, diagnoses the problem and reports it in terms easily understood. His recommendations always get us up and running right away, or if needed he recommends saving the repair money to apply to a new unit. John Bell will then come out to assess the necessary replacement equipment appropriate for the size of each location and submit a quote. We have now used Northwind successfully for several years in our commercial locations and the work is completed in a few days after the initial service call. We find the people who answer our initial calls for service extremely cordial and helpful, and that extends to several different personnel that we have spoken with. We highly recommend the Northwind team.

We have had Northwind out to work on our 5 units at our commercial building several times over the last month. We have replaced one unit and done extensive work on two others. Every tech they have sent has been great, but Ralph Machado was 5 star excellent. He is engaging, friendly, informative, and an all-around pleasure to have in our building. So we’d been on vacation and came back on a Sunday afternoon to find that the AC unit kept cutting off. I called Northwind (who originally installed the system 5 years ago) and Derek was able to come out within about an hour or so. He immediately diagnosed the issue as being a clogged drain line, and explained that when the water gets backed up in the line the system has an automatic cut-off so that the condensation doesn’t overflow and do other damage. He quickly cleared the line using CO2 and a vacuum, and he also poured a solution into the line to help prevent the algae from forming. Derek was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient in getting everything back in working order, and was a great reminder to why we’ve used Northwind for our HVAC needs for over 5 years now. Thank you Derek and Northwind!

Raphael was the most thorough HVAC technicians I have had. Second scheduled maintenance for a new Trane system. Raphael troubleshooted a humming noise and located a place in the ductwork that needed tightening. Very thorough and explained system well. He was meticulous with this service visit and I so appreciated his time, knowledge, and efforts to ensure I am in good shape for winter! I found out about your company on the Michael Berry show. I was driving so I had to pull over to save the information. I called and scheduled service for my A/C at 10:00 the following day. Eric (the technician) called me at 0830 on the scheduled service date asking if he could come at 0900 because he was running ahead of schedule of which we agreed. Eric arrived on time, put and kept shoe covers on every time he entered our home and removed them when he exited our home to service the outside unit. It is now 11:00 and Eric is still here making necessary repairs and adjustments to our unit. I am a retired Houston Firefighter and we have been in this home thirty-one years and I have NEVER had an A/C company take the time that Eric and this amazing company has taken to make sure that our unit is in top working order. Northwind A/C and Heating will be our forever company to service, repair and replace our unit if ever necessary in the future. Also, I will tell everyone that I know about this amazing company. If I could give Northwind ten stars I would. To the owner of this company, Eric is off the charts. Greg was very pleasant and professional. I’ve been having low air flow through my upstairs vent for years. I have mentioned it to several professionals who worked on my place over the years but only Greg took the initiative to investigate the problem. He grabbed a ladder to actually look into the vent and found the AC duct was detached. I appreciated his professionalism and expertise on how he addressed my concerns. I had so many “o you have to open the wall to see” and so glad he was not one of those.

Best service experience from not just an HVAC company, but any contractor Ive dealt with in the past decade of home ownership. Im no dummy when it comes to HVAC and I was impressed by the knowledge and quality of work of the entire team when it came to Trane equipment, return air sizing, duct runs, code compliance, etc.Bridgette who came out to quote the work as well as check in during installation didnt just have them slap a new system in...she explained to the pros and cons of repairing the existing 20 year old system vs. replacement. Model options for replacement. She did not try to upsell me on a variable speed system or the modest efficiency gains on the XL17 vs. XR 16. Based on a competitors quote, they were willing to reduce their price. They were able to schedule me for a replacement Trane unit two days later at that competitive price...no waiting on equipment to be ordered/delivered.Mario and his helper worked overtime (8AM until 10PM) to get the duct replacement just right and get cold air restored the same day.And after everything was complete, they schedule you for a visit by an experienced HVAC technician who confirms everything is installed correctly. Greg spent an hour checking the indoor and outdoor installation job...it wasnt just a cursory stop in.I recommend this company to everyone.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about Northwind...this contractor is absolutely phenomenal. It started with a simple a quotation which led to questions about which system to install as we had an old Carrier AC and furnace to replace. Jose shared the benefits of upgrading to both a two-stage or variable speed system so we considered both. Along the way there were several questions and Jose was extremely both responsive and knowledgeable. He is a tremendous asset to company as he represents them extremely well....it was Jose who sold me on using Northwind....people deal with people and those they are comfortable with. In the end we decided on going with the variable speed speed system for the benefits of comfort and efficiency . The system change out went extremely smooth, the team showed up on time and was polite and very professional. Couldnt ask for a better experience from start to finish as they cleaned up when the work was completed and the property was left as found. Northwind is definitely a top-tier contractor and ranks as one of the best ones weve ever had to do work on our home thanks to Jose and team. EXTREMELY PLEASED!!!!

I have not ever had a bad experience with Northwind. I am a Realtor. Northwind was recommended to me for a problem with a client’s house that had 5 units. Owners had already relocated and their AC people could not figure out what the problem was. I had two other companies look but they could not figure it out. Northwind sent a technician out who was quick to figure out what was going on. It was a programming problem that no one else figured out.Northwind is the only company that I now recommend to clients and the only company that services my home and rental property. They are thorough, prompt, polite and they always solve any problem that comes up. My AC problems???? I got that coveted.

This is truly the most professional and efficient HVAC company Ive every used. They are very knowledgeable and quickly came up with a plan to remedy a disastrous multi-zoned AC system I had that never really worked. It was a huge job in an old house that no one else wanted to touch, but these guys completed the whole new install in one day. They literally left my house cleaner than how they found it. Not a spec of dust in site. I highly recommend them and only wish I had heard about them many years ago. They even schedule a follow up quality control service call to make sure everything is functioning as expected.Great service on every level. Its not often that we can say that these days!

Raphael came by my house to find out why my MBR unit wasn’t keeping up when the temperature got above 95F. He did a thorough job trouble shooting, and found the problem was that the coils were dirty. Since they should have been cleaned during the spring maintenance, there was “no charge” for his work. Sadly, there are quite a few companies in Houston that would have found a way to charge me for the 2 hours Raphael spent troubleshooting and cleaning the unit but, fortunately for me, Northwind isn’t one of them. Competent and honest is a good combination.

Great experience working with these guys. From the first call for service, to the work being done it was an easy, fast, and well done job. The technician, Daniel, diagnosed the issue as a defective part and worked to have the part replaced under warranty rather than trying to sell us a new one which was very appreciated. My first experience with this company was poor. The technician was an hour late even though I was told he was in the area. When he eventually got there, I had to call back again the next day and ask for someone else, or at least someone that sounded like they knew what they were talking about. I’ve been having an issue with the humidity, not being drawn out of my house, and supposedly this company is a certified repair for Goodman. The next day when the next technician came out, he said he found an issue with one of the parts maybe not being attached correctly, so he attached it. After working in my attic, and getting sweaty and dirty, he proceeded to make himself at home in my house by sitting on my couch while filling out the paperwork. It was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate, and it made me extremely uncomfortable. I could not get rid of him, and he proceeded to have a full-blown conversation with me when I had to be on a zoom call for work that evening. Needless to say the issue was still not fixed so I called to have the technician out again since he was the one that came and repaired that one piece so I figured it would probably be best to keep the same Technician. The same guy came out again a third day and said there was no issue at all, and that I would need to call Goodman and have an on-site visit from them. He advised me that the company had nothing else to do with it and that Goodman would come out if the homeowner requested it. Well, that was a lie and false information because I called Goodman and they stated that the only way they could do an on-site visit was if the certified AC company called them and requested it. So I called back a fourth time and was able to talk to the technician that came out and told me that. He told me that he would take care of it and he would set it up to where they would get Goodman Manufacturing out to my house. That never happened nor did I ever receive future contact from them or another call from them. So I ended up having to purchase a humidity reader for my home. Just as I suspected, the humidity is showing to be at 53% in my home with the AC unit not extracting the humidity and the heat and the heat is showing to be higher in my house than it is outside. Stay far far away from this company because they have no idea what they’re doing. All they care about is making money and not taking care of the customer.

Daniel always does a great job. He is very detailed in his assessment and takes time to show and explain what is going on. He was on time and ready to go. The previous tech was a no show wasting my time and causing me to miss a valuable opportunity.

Daniel Sherman has to be one of the best HVAC Engineers in Houston TX. He knows his stuff. I’m extremely happy 😊 that hopefully 3rd time is the charm. Northwind A/C and Heating has some.excellent employees working for them. The first day, Marcus (Ray) Soto LOL inside joke. He was such a pleasure and joy chitchatting with him and feeling well taken care of. Unfortunately, we had to call them back a Second and third time visit until we got it right. If you ever get Mr. Daniel Sherman to visit your home and service your A/C and Heat, you are getting a jewel. He is the icing on the cake. Mr. Sherman has a great attitude and professional spirit about his job and all the years he has dedicated to this field. Spoke with some lovely ladies, Mattie and a few of them. However, Angela new customer service agent really could use some more training on her behavior and manners. Being much nicer over the phone and better respectable to the customers can truly help her a long way with her job. Overall, Northwind A/C and Heating, I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. Looking forward to have future service provided by them…

Fantastic experience. When I ran into some problems with my AC, I called to see if someone would be able to come out. I figured it would probably be a week until they had availability.Three hours later, Dashon was at my house. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and he did a great job getting my AC working again. What a first class organization! Northwind, their technicians (Jose S. and Raphael), and their Service Manager (Dale) are knowledgeable, honest, and really good at what they do. We have used them for maintenance and repairs, and they are always top-notch.Recently, we had some hot spot rooms, and I was sure we were going to need a significant and costly fix. When I discussed it with Northwind, they said they had some much simpler ideas they wanted to try first, before we started to break the bank. They got the air balanced beautifully, and at a very reasonable cost. Sometimes trust can be hard to find, but not with Northwind - they are truly looking out for the customers best interest.

Northwind is the best in the business! They have invested in technology that sends messages including a photo of the tech coming out prior to the meeting for your safety. They send numerous reminders to schedule their bi-annual maintenance. If you’re not already signed up, do so! The tech was here for 3 hours today making sure our system was running properly. We also added some hard start kits to help with noise and for power transitioning to a generator if necessary. They have helped us for years and they are the only company we call for our HVAC systems.

Derek did an excellent job in correctingthe problem with our central air conditioning unit not cooling.And the system is now operating perfectly.

I was told the AC to the house wasn’t working while I was away and needed it fixed ASAP. Thankfully Northwind was able to honor the Trane warranty without a lot of paperwork or hassle! The technician they sent, Dashon, was very professional and explained what was wrong very clearly. His great work ethic really showed being so consistent and communicative during his diagnosis. It took several hours but he found that the AC compressor had completely died and needed replacement. There was another technician to assist with the repair but unfortunately I do not know his name. I will be calling Northwind for any AC work in the future because of the great work those guys did, thank you!

This is the second time I’ve used this company and they provided excellent work and customer service yet again! Jose was professional, and when he found out I needed Freon (at 7:30pm) that he didn’t have on his truck, he left to go get some instead of re-scheduling me in the AM like some companies/contractors might. I was seriously impressed and thankful. He explained everything he was doing in easy to understand language and I felt confident in his work and abilities! Customer service was great and friendly when I called to ask a question, and followed up a few days after my appointment to make sure everything was running smoothly. Daniel the tech was very knowledgeable and thorough. He walked us through all the things we need to keep maintained and when to do the maintenance. His inspection report included pictures and notes on the various items he inspected as well. They were prompt with their appointment window and Daniel was respectful of our home. It was a nice interaction while he was servicing the units and he remained professional throughout. Highly recommend and will continue to do our maintenance and repairs through Northwind.

I previously gave them a 5 star review, but that service no longer exists.We had a problem with our front heater and called Northwind because other service was good. The guy who came out took over 3 hours to Diagnose the problem, but because he had taken way longer than it should have, he only charged us for two hours.Got an estimate that the unit needed a new heat kit and we accepted it. NOTE: Their estimates try to be general and I do not like a general estimate when the cost is over a thousand dollars.They came out and put in the heat kit and the heat worked. The only problem was it would not shut off when it reached the correct temp on the thermostat. We called Northwind and told them of the problem and they sent someone out. This guy was similar to the other in that it took him 4 hours to diagnose the problem and each time he would tell us it was a problem, we would say, But your guys fixed that. and his story as to what the problem was would change. We were told at least 4 different reasons this was not working. He finally settled on it was a valve on the roof and he had tested it with a magnet. The other problem was the guy would stand around and talk to employees the whole time he was here.Then he called a manager up to the front to tell her he was only going to charge for 2 hours. I was there and heard it and left her to sign. The next morning I get an invoice charging us 4 hours for sending out the village idiot. I immediately called Northwind and was put through to someone named Dale with an attitude. I explained the issue and he had said well you dont have to be upset and I told him I wasnt and was speaking in a normal tone and am just telling him the issue. He apologized and made a comment that he was just saying it because of others?!?Then he told me he was going to check into it and call me back. That was on 1/25, a week ago yesterday, and he still hasnt gotten around to it. I called another A/C company and they immediately found the problem. Whoever put in the heat kit or the person coming to diagnose the overheating issue had burned out an entire circuit board. The actual problem was fixed when they reset the thermostat but now we have to buy a new board to be able to have heat in the front of the building.Northwind used to be good. Undoubtedly they are scraping the bottom of the hiring barrel now due to their growth. The people they are sending out now are incompetent, lazy, and slow.Oh, but they do continuously send you reminders that you have an estimate you havent agreed to!!!USE ANYONE ELSE

We got five different estimates for installation of a new AC system to replace our aging one. Northwind was the second lowest price for a comparable system, but they convinced us on expertise and service. Brigette Lopez was very knowledgeable and paid attention to detail on her first visit and always responded promptly to any phone or email requests. Scheduling the installation was easy. Bridget came again to make sure we knew what to expect and address all our concerns. The technicians were friendly, professional, clean, knowledgeable and worked very hard. Because of issues with our previous system, the installation took longer, but they stayed until late into the evening to make sure we were not left without AC.During the Quality Control check a few days after installation, the senior technician promptly addressed all our concerns.So far, we are very happy with our new system.

Northwind installed a new HVAC in my home. I was really impressed with the company. The technician that evaluated my old system was very professional and thorough. He earned my trust. Northwind did not try to upsell something I did not want or need. The installers were great. Very pleased with the installation and the new unit. They even used a level to insure that the new thermostat was level. The company has earned my trust. A week after the installation, a technician came by to do a quality assurance check. Good to know they believe in quality, service, and integrity.

Marcus & Jonathon were both great to work with. Called Sunday evening for an emergency a/c fix. Marcus Came out Sunday 2hours later. Great company! My A/C unit broke and they came out the next day and had me up and running in less than 30 minutes. The technician was unable to take accurate Freon pressures due to it being too hot in the house and our condenser unit was dirty because of counstruction next door. We scheduled a cleaning & maintenance check for a few days later to ensure the house was cooled off. He came back out cleaned the unit and checked the Freon levels. Now my A/C is back up and running like brand new again!Very polite, clean, punctual, and professional. I found my new A/C company!

The owner takes personal pride in the quality of the workmanship of his technicians and they consistently demonstrate really strong expertise. I changed out a couple of fairly large complete units with associated replacement of old ducting and the result was 110% to my satisfaction. Just recently I replaced a third unit and again the standard of workmanship was excellent. Randy Burke provided supervision to both projects and did a first rate job. Have always had good experiences with Northwind in the past with service calls. Decided to replace my AC unit after speaking with technician David. He explained thoroughly what was wrong with my existing unit both outside and in the attic. Installation began on time in the morning. Installers were professional, courteous and did more in the attic than I anticipated with the existing ducts and all the connections to the new unit. Amazing job by them. Nice clean up at the end. Lead tech David stopped by before, during and after installation explaining the new unit well. Great local business for the Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area. I recommend.

Exceeded My Expectations!Robert, Jose and their entire crew exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From the our first meeting I could tell we were dealing with a high integrity team. We had a 20 year old 5 ton system in our 2 story house. The system was failing and after several years of patching it together to keep it running we decided we were in need of a replacement. I obtained bids from 4 established companies and determined that Northwind had the highest value given quality of the product, professionalism, service and price. Six months after a flawless installation I couldn’t be happier. We have made it through hot and cold weather without a hitch. I had my AC checked by Northwind. 21 point inspection with a report and pictures. Jose was on time and called prior to the appointment. He spend a lot of time carefully analyzing the system, changed the filter and then went through his findings with me. Very professional and while I need a few things done, no sales pressure. I was pleasantly surprised of the progressional experience and how good the technician worked his way through the different parts of the AC. I am planing to replace my upstairs AC down the road, and Northwind will be one of the vendors I will ask for a quote.

The team at Northwind does an outstanding job.The field technician was prompt, neatly dressed and well spoken. After listening my a/c issues, he tested the equipment both inside and out. Then he informed me of the scope of work needed, what would be involved and the job cost. After discussing with the technician the aspects of the new equipment. I was then left to decide on the options given.The office team contacted me and ask questions about any concerns I may have regarding the equipment problem the new equipment and offered financing options if needed. They even work with myself, my electric provider and others to secure rebates and discounts towards the purchase of new equipment.Upon deciding a course of action the technician gathered his equipment, asked if I had any other questions and told me to call if anything needed answered. Later in the day the office team contacted me to set and install date.This morning the technician contacted me to verify which system I was going with, and to let me know he would be there himself the morning of the install to prepare for the job.Overall I a perfectly please with the attention to customer service I received from Northwind A/C. I will continue to utilize them as my air conditioning and heating service and will recommend them in the future.

I was very pleased with the work recently done at my house by Northwind Air Conditioning Company. I needed to replace my 16 yr old, 4 ton Tranea-c/heating system & called Northwind for an estimate. Jose Lopez came out to my house, completely surveyed my old system and explained what he would recommend to completely replace my old system with a comparable new Trane system. He gave me a written proposal which reflected 2 rebates (one from Centerpoint and one from Trane) - and his estimate of time to complete the job. We agreed on the price and he returned 2 days later with a 2 man crew, removed my old a-c/furnace and installed the new Trane system. After installation the crew completely cleaned up & hauled away the old equipment. All work was done professionally, in one day and at a reasonable price. I would hire this company again.

Rafael Levine called before coming and I briefly explained that the thermostat was not working. The complete ac/heat and ductwork were replaced exactly 3 years ago and it was a magnificent job done back then by all. Rafael traced the problem to a single wire coming loose that was wrapped with other wires and hiding under the wire cap. He spliced all the wires again and used an old school technique by wrapping electrical tape around the wires and cap. Turned power back on and thermostat rebooted and working again. Northwind has excellent technicians as they do my biannual maintenance as well. Office staff are polite and listen to your needs. Wish other companies could follow how Northwind runs there business.
