Holden Heights Apartments in The Heights Houston

I came in today and Austin showed me two apartments. For the Heights this is on the lower side of rent for this area . The property is nice and doesn’t show its age as some others I have witnessed that are newer . No bad smells and no overwhelming fragrances strategically placed to cover up bad smells. The only reason I may not move here is the lack of AC in the hallways (open concept) but plenty of parking exists 🥰 I am deciding this week and this place is on my list . I like this area for the existing bike trails and look forward to ride the new shepherd and Durham paths .Jaqey J

Ive been living here for almost a year now, and it truly feels like home. One of the highlights of this place is the sense of community that envelops you as soon as you move in. The maintenance team deserves a shout-out for their prompt and efficient service, keeping everything running smoothly.Austin from the leasing office is another standout. His exceptional service and friendly demeanor make any administrative process a breeze, adding to the overall positive experience here.On the downside, the soundproofing could be better. I occasionally hear my neighbors, which can be a minor annoyance. Despite this, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, making it a lovely place to live.

My experience with Holden seems to be relatively unique to my particular unit (#1114) after reading other reviews. The benefits of this complex have been listed in other reviews, and I definitely agree with them. However, I have lived in apartments for 12+ years, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. There is a massive plumbing issue in unit #1114 that results in an extremely loud repetitive banging noise coming from the wall with the main pipes that even the deepest sleeper would be unable to sleep through. This noise occurs whenever any of the surrounding neighbors use the shower or turn on the sink (middle of the night, early morning, daytime, whatever). I have a two bedroom and have had to live in the guest room for the past 10+ months because the wall with the issue is on the master bedroom and I am at times able to sleep through the noise if I am wearing ear plugs and am in the guest bedroom. I let Holden know about this issue the very first morning after I moved in (in 3/2020), and they claimed this was a normal noise for about 6 months. When they finally agreed to attempt to resolve the issue, they had plumbers cut 4 massive holes in my wall, and they still did not solve the issue. They also never repaired the holes, so I have been living like that for months. I finally gave up and resolved to just stick it out until my lease was up. Secondary issues are extremely thin walls through which I can hear my neighbors conversations, sighs, coughs, etc, and wake up to their Google alarm each morning. I understand that hearing toilet flushes, showers, footsteps, etc is expected in an apartment, but these issues are so much more than that. I have advised Holden that it would be unethical to rent my unit #1114 to another tenant until these maintenance issues are resolved. Please do not rent unit #1114 without confirming that this plumbing issue has been resolved.If Holden replies to this review that they prefer to address these issues with me in person, please know that I begged for them to help me for 8-9 months and was brushed off for many months and asked to sign a legal document stating that I would not pursue legal action against them for failing to provide me with maintenance that was required.

Have been living here about a year. Has been pretty great so far, they host nice events for residents every month, decent gym, very nice pool area. Apartments aren’t brand new but plenty modern. Solid neighborhood, conveniently next to the freeway and HEB but noise and traffic are still fine. Only issues are having problems with the garage gates not working right sometimes, a few areas of the building needing a fresh coat of paint, etc. The office staff are always very friendly though and pleasant to talk to!

Really enjoy living here! Staff are super nice, amenities are great, and there are a lot of opportunities for community engagement. Free training classes Mondays and Tuesdays, and a free yoga class every Wednesday, in addition to monthly community events. Also walking distance from an H‑E‑B!I do feel that some areas of the complex are a bit dated, and I’ve run into a lot of issues with the gated doors. If the power goes out, the door scanners will not work and unlock the door to let you in. Also sometimes the door locking mechanism will get loose and will shift such that you cannot open the door even though it is unlocked.

The staff here is absolutely incredible. I go down to the leasing office almost every day for a coffee and they are always so friendly. Living here has felt more like a home than any other apartment Ive lived in and they make sure to take care of you. The maintenance staff works quick and they are also some of the kindest individuals youll meet. The pool is gorgeous and well taken care of and many of the residents enjoy talking and meeting the others that live there. I moved to Houston without knowing anybody and it feels as though Holden has allowed me to make many friends. I would recommend this place to everybody that I know.

This apartment complex is a gem in Houston Heights; I cannot recommend it enough. Ive lived here for almost two years and can only make positive comments. Its clean and safe, and the management and staff are communicative and go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are well cared for.

Broken fire alarm system goes off all the time for no reason day or night sometimes for 5 minutes sometimes for over an hour. It’s one thing if they’re just working out the kinks for a bit but has been an issue off and on for almost 2 years now. However, if there ever is a fire it is sure to get your attention, have the tinnitus to back it up

If you want your vehicle stolen, this is the place for you. Late 2023 my vehicle was broken into and reported by police. Apartment manager notified me that they were working on installing cameras on the 2nd and 3rd levels. They also have security guards who are suppose to monitor the garages at night. Fast forward to June 2024, vehicle fully stolen with not trace of who has stolen it. Apartment refuses to install cameras for there residents safety of personal vehicle.

Have lived in Holden Heights for over a year and had a positive experience. I feel like my review is valid, because due to COVID Ive worked and been at home for about 7 months of that year. Really nice place with variety of floor plans. Staff are very friendly and service requests are always done promptly. Overall, very well kept and the amenities are very nice. Gym is nice sized and pool is great! I live on a 3rd floor unit and havent had a lot of noise issues.

Recently moved in resident review (2/11/2023):I’ve been here about a month so things can change but no complaints so far. The office staff was very helpful through my whole move in process. They are reasonable and kind people.I’d like to address the most recent review below my own, posted by “Star Jordan.” I do not feel it was made in good faith. I have not experienced any of the animal issues mentioned at all. People have dogs here, yes, it is a fact of apartments. Most owners I’ve come across have been fine folk and have their animal under control. It is quiet around here. Streets are quiet at night. Yes your hear your neighbors from time to time, but again, apartments and not a bunker. You heard people upstairs in a house too. While there was a recent incident in the garage, “thousands of windows” sounds like a disingenuous exaggeration. Even if they broke 4 windows per car, that’s 250 vehicles to reach 1000. Much longer tenured residents say that incident was VERY out of the norm. Additionally, security was able to chase them off before more was done. Security sits on the first level with line of sight to both entrances, it is not just laziness. I’ve also seen them go up and down the levels of the garage later at night routinely. It’s not fool proof, but a good deterrent. It’s a problem everywhere right now but other places, no one is the wiser until the sun comes up in the morning and residents discover the damage.My advice: Ignore that review and just talk to someone who lives here. They will shoot your straight. Management, keep it up and maintain vigilance in the garage to your best abilities.I hope to enjoy the rest of my time here.

I absolutely love living here (by far the best place I have lived). It is in a great location and they keep everything up very well. The pool and gym are very nice and I use them frequently. They hold a lot of fun events for residents, such as workout classes, goat yoga, dinners, etc. (they seriously are always hosting something). Also, a huge plus is that I nor my guest have ever had an issue finding parking. I would highly recommend Holden Heights to anyone looking for a place in the area. The staff is awesome, they truly make you feel at home! Armando, who works for Holden heights just delivered cookies to my work as a thank you for being a resident! Truly exceptional.

Elevator has been out for 2 + months. Apparently waiting on a part to come in? Why is it taking so long ??? Losing trust in this place

I lived at Holden Heights for a little over 2 years and it is by far the best apartment I have lived at in Houston. The service and living conditions are second to none. Management, and the extended team, have been friendly, responsive, and very helpful during my time here. The few times Ive needed assistance or maintenance repairs my request were replied to and/or fixed in a very timely manner, sometimes within the hour. The entire community is consistently kept clean and upgraded. There are a variety of community events to take part in as well. I would recommend living here to anyone looking for a clean and friendly environment!

Moving in was such a breeze! The leasing officer I worked with was absolutely wonderful. I was moving from 4 hours away and she helped show the complex virtually and made the whole process so easy.

I have been a resident of Holden Heights for 2 ½ years now and I just resigned another 18 month lease! I really cant say enough great things about where I live...For starters the property itself is very nice and well taken care of. The pool especially is such a great place to hang out - nice grills, TVs and tables and chairs! Additionally, I always see maintenance keeping tabs on upkeep with the property. Speaking of maintenance, they are always so quick to respond to any needs you have in your apartment home! From lightbulbs to water filters there hasnt been an issue that has taken longer than 48 hours for resolution. I also feel comfortable allowing them in my apartment when I am not there to fix any issues I may have.Lastly, the office staff is one of a kind. They are personable and truly care about you as a resident. I never feel like I am just a number or apartment to them... they know me and care about how I am doing! They are always willing to work with you and help you out as much as they can. Like I said before I really cant say enough great things about Holden and look forward to staying here for many more months!

The management, maintenance, and entire staff make this above and beyond a wonderful place to live. Ive been here almost three years and have nothing but great things to say. Many friends of mine live in other complexes (in the heights) and complain of problems that just dont exist at Holden Heights. Mature community and great location!

I have really enjoyed living here, and believe this complex has a great maintenance staff and very nice leasing office staff! The only reason for the three stars is the lagging amenities and aging asset. A few quick examples: there are no EV chargers available for residents, the lines in the garage are difficult to see and the floor needs a power washing, and the walk-in gates are difficult to open and outdated. Again a good place to live and I have enjoyed my time, but I fear the complex spends more money on the community group activities than a maintenance infrastructure.9/5 edit. Thank you for the reply Holden, any update on when the policy will be finalized or estimated completion date? Where are the chargers/electricity- I don’t believe I’ve seen them around the place? Happy to re-review once all of the three items are completed!

My wife and I looked at every apartment in the Heights area and chose this one. We have been living here coming up 3 years now. The staff here is always nice and prompt on requests. The maintenance is quick and the pool and the amenities are top notch. Would highly recommend!

Been living at Holden since 2015 and it has been a great experience. Neighbors for the most part are friendly and respectful. The all the staff members are very intuitive. Work orders are usually completed within a few days. It’s a very pet friendly (respectful) environment.Wallace, Property Manager, Amber, Assistance Manager and Beatrice (who just left us) all treat you as if you were family. I do have to give major props for Amber as she has brought a sense of togetherness and happiness to the property since she has come on board. Holden puts on many residential events throughout the month such as, free work out classes with a trainer Monday’s and Tuesday’s, Bingo night, Wine and Dine, Pet Pawty Day and many more. There is a sense of community where everyone knows everyone.Not only are the apartments themselves beautiful, Holden takes a lot of pride in maintaining the property.

Absolutely fantastic!We had an amazing move-in experience with Holden. My significant other and I were moving from another city, and I couldnt think of a better team to help us with the process. We moved in on a Sunday and they had every arranged for us-it was perfect! HUGE shoutout to Daniela. She made us feel at home from the first time we stepped in to tour and she has been so professional. Shes also a total sweetheart and really takes pride in what she does. You want to work with her.I cant say enough good things about this place. Thank you, Holden. We love living here!

The Holden community is comfortable, quiet and clean. My apartment is easy to care for and maintenance needs are taken care of right away. The leasing staff are friendly and helpful when anything is needed, which makes you feel like you are appreciated.

For the two years I lived here I was constantly woken up in the night by neighbors coming home and walking around in their apartment or my other neighbor who played music at 2am. When we worked with the office to resolve the music nothing was done, warnings were given but the music continued, the courtesy officer is a joke and never responded nor did you know if he was going to due to leaving the message in a voicemail. The walls here are paper thin so light sleepers be warned. Neighbor hood is nice but thats the only pro.

I’ve lived at Holden for about 2 years now. The first year was fine really, management was good and dealt with issues, Rodrigo was very helpful. The second year has been a complete nightmare, new management hasn’t lived up to the same standards which is often the case when these properties change ownership. It doesnt feel like the same place anymore.The good: The location is great, the maintenance crew is very good too, no issues there, and honestly the apartments are nice inside. Pool is nice, they are pretty strict with the number of guests which is fair enough.The bad: The noise is unbearable. Constant barking from dogs left by inconsiderate owners on balconies. There’s a royal rumble dog barking match every day in my courtyard. Residents will have party’s outside in the courtyards until gone 2am on the weekends and you can hear everything even from the top floor and there’s nothing you can do about it. Other times people will sit and shout at each other on their balcony until the early hours. We ask them to keep it down after 11.00pm and they shout abuse back as they are almost always drunk. Then they leave trash all over the place, thats the kind of people who will be living next to you.Management dont enforce the noise complaints, or people letting their dogs run freely through the grounds. From my balcony I saw one woman recently trying to leave for work one morning that had to turn back as there was a huge black poodle bounding towards her, the dogs owner nowhere to be seen.The air conditioner will cut out at random so you return home to a 80+ degree home, its an easy reset on the system but shame it happens so much. Dog wash is really good, when it works.Recently my dog was bitten by another dog on the grounds since the owner couldn’t control her dog and it got off its leash. I like dogs, but this place is ridiculous. Its non-stop, so if you are in anyway sensitive to noise dont move here. If you enjoy sleeping in past 7am on a Sunday, dont move here. You will be woken by some clown letting their dog bark. Now the construction noise is a different level, but this isnt Holdens fault so I cant hold them accountable but it all adds to an uncomfortable please to live.There are simply too many properties out there to take a risk on this place, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

My husband and I just move out 2 weeks ago. The apartment is nice and spacious. Maintenance is quick. When we signed out lease in June 2016, we really enjoyed working with the current management at that time. Then they changed the new management about 2-3 months later. New management is horrible. There are a 1 or 2 helpful people in the office, but the rest seems ignorant and dont care about the residents.Sometimes when my husband or I came to the office to pick-up our packages, instead spending only few minutes to get packages for us, they would have us wait 20-30 minutes so that they can make a sale to potential residents. If I was potential resident to witness that, I would be completely turn-off. Very bad care for current residents. Especially the Hispanic employee there.Now we are just glad we moved out. Management really need to evaluate some of their current employees or else they will hurt their business.

Love living here at Holden Heights! We have had nothing but a great experience and I give most of the credit to the folks in the office. Specifically Wallace and Amber! They are amazing and the reason I am staying. It is a super pet friendly apartment is is awesome for my two pups and has just overall been a wonderful experience!

The units are gorgeous, amenities are great and thats about it. Things break all the time here. A/C has gone out 6 times, oven 4 times. They ARE good about fixing things but its still not what you expect for brand new apartments. Gates are constantly broken, so why does it matter its a gated community? Car was broken both inside the parking garage and parked out on the street. The property manager is a really nice and helpful guy. Everyone else is super rude (besides Donald) so good luck being treated like a paying tenant instead of a trouble making thief. I wont miss living here. So dont worry Vania, we wont be back when we leave. We dont want to.

I do enjoy living here, renewed our lease. It’s quite , always clean, friendly staff, the maintenance crew is great as well. I enjoy HEB across the street for quick pick me ups for dinners. Along with the walk area nearby to many great restaurants/bars

A great place to live, people are nice, so many places to walk, pool and other amenities are really nice. The staff went over and beyond when helping me get approved and moved in. Shout out to Armanado, you the best! He made the process easy and I have felt right at home ever since I moved in. The complex is quiet and they keep it very clean. There is always a guy mopping the hallways and the pool area is always reset. Very appreciative of the extra cleaning they do.

I rented my first apartment at Holden Heights, and it exceeded every expectation. Beautiful floorplans and finishes, a helpful and kind staff, and luxury, resort-level amenities. Being within walking distance to HEB, 19th St, and Kraftsmen Baking was icing on the cake. I will always look back fondly on this place and it earns my highest recommendation.

Just moved to Holden Heights from out of state knowing nobody. They made me feel perfectly at home and assisted with getting me moved in quickly and comfortably. The property is kept in immaculate condition and everyone is friendly. Highly recommend the Holden Heights for a great Heights experience!

My husband and I have lived here for about 8months so far and have had no complaints. They are always fixing the place up so it looks nice. Our air went out once and they were there to fix it within the hour. Front office staff is very helpful and really want to make sure they take care of all your concerns. We’re about to renew our lease.

Ive been living here for a year and its been great! The location is great, right next to 610 and to an HEB. Staff and maintenance are always nice and willing to help as needed.I definitely recommend Holden Heights!
