My family and I have lived here for almost 10 years now! Amazing scenery, places to workout. The pools are glorious and very clean. The apartments are very nice, especially the ones with balconies. I always spend my time in the gym, you have all the equipment you need. Great people living here too!And thank you Patricia and staff for all your hard work!
Ive lived at Yorktown Apartments in Houston for over four years, and its been a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful, making the community feel welcoming and well-managed. Any maintenance requests are handled efficiently, and the property is kept in good condition.
I’ve lived in this complex for 8 years now. It’s quiet. There’s nice seating areas. We have security so I feel very secured and safe knowing he drives around the area. Patricia is very helpful and friendly, I recommend coming to her for any questions.
The office staff is professional and tends to your needs in a timely manner considering the size and age of the property. Brandy is a firm but fair manager offering reasonable solutions to problems encountered on property. Fernanda is very welcoming and attentive when you visit the office.
Yorktown has been our home for two amazing years! Weve renewed our lease for another year. Our neighbors are delightful, quiet individuals. The complex is ideal for families with activities like dog walking, tennis, swimming and outdoor play, fostering a great environment! We cherish the amenities like two pools, volleyball and tennis courts. The spacious clubhouse is perfect for events like my incredible gender reveal! Brandy genuinely cares for residents, while the office staff is warm, responsive and informative via email and phone. We feel secure with nighttime security and efficient maintenance. By initially cleaning, spraying and maintaining our apartment with pest control, weve prevented roach issues, contrary to some comments.
Yorktown Apartments has been a great complex to live in. I have lived here for over 8 years and have had no complaints. The management, especially the assistant manager Patricia, has been great at taking action with requests and she’ll see to it that your request is fulfilled.
I can’t say enough great things about both the apartment and hard working associate Fernanda. From the very first interaction, Fernanda was incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive. The apartment itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms, modern finishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. Fernanda definitely brings welcoming energy to the place and I would definitely recommend speaking to her if someone wants to have an amazing leasing experience.
A great first apartment. I see Marcos outside almost everyday. He keeps the pools and outside area very clean. He is very nice and makes conversation every time I see him.
I love my spot here at Yorktown apartments maintenance is lightning fast, and they keep the property nice and clean YEAR ROUND! Brandy is amazing, she is the sole reason I decided to extend my lease and has made my experience here smooth and painless. She also looked out for me during the Hurricane! 🙌🏽 you’re going to see a lot of bad reviews but hopefully my good one helps. This spot is a hidden gem.
I had an excellent experience working with Patricia, the manager at Yorktown Apartments. From the moment I inquired about the apartment, she made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Patricia was extremely helpful and professional, ensuring I had all the information I needed and guiding me through every step of the way. Also, she was very flexible - even though office hours were closed she stayed over one hour more yo finish up my application and made sure that process is complete without any issues. The staff here are also very friendly, which adds to the overall positive experience. The apartments are well-maintained, clean. I highly recommend Yorktown Apartments to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to live. Thank you, Patricia, for your outstanding!
I was in a rush to find a place and the staff was very helpful with making my move in date very smooth! The deal is great for such a good location. I feel very safe since the apartments have a gate that only residents can open.
Yorktown Apartments has been my home for over four years, and I’ve had a great experience. The team here is always welcoming and quick to help with any needs.
Patricia at Yorktown Apartments was amazing to work with. She made the entire process smooth and easy, providing all the help I needed. The staff are friendly, and the apartments are clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend Yorktown Apartments for a great place to live.
This is the place Ive called home for the last 7 years. I love the staff, maintenance crew and cleanliness of the property overall. I am truly thankful for Brandy as she is exceptional. Brandy is helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I recommend anyone who is looking to move to contact Brandy for all your questions and concerns, she will help guide and inform you. Thank you Yorktown apartments!
Ive been living at Yorktown Apartments for the past 8-9 months, and I have to say, its been a fantastic experience. The peaceful environment here is one of the things I love the most—its a great place to come home to after a long day. The service provided by the management has been top-notch, especially Satishma, who has always been incredibly helpful and attentive. Thank you for your exceptional service, Satishma! I truly appreciate all the effort you put into making this place feel like home.
Very peaceful living experience. Great nature atmosphere, the property and grounds are well kept. The maintenance team is very professional and prompt. Great location and office staff.
Great location.Excellent apartmentsTotally recommended.Patricia at the leasing office is always of great help
At this moment I have mixed feelings. Apartments are okay and the residents are friendly. Management do a great job keeping us informed about issues in the community. However, there may be a lack in professionalism from office staff from time to time. My girlfriend and I were harassed by security while we was sitting in the car talking. In spite of telling him that Im a resident he was demanding that we leave and continued to watch us. I called the leasing office to complain just to be told he was just doing his job. This doesnt make me feel safe or heard. Which is ironic because were dealing with security and management there should be a feeling of reassurance that things will be better.
I have not lived here in just over two years, but in reviewing my current apartment complex, I felt the need to review Yorktown as well. There was a big German cockroach problem when I lived there over two years ago, and judging off of recent reviews, it seems there still is. This was my very first apartment and it did not occur to me to read the reviews. It made my life so stressful and made me feel like I was living in the trenches. There were also wasps flying in from the kitchen sky roof window thing, and maintenance tried telling me that I may have left the front door open. No sir, I would literally hear the buzz and rush to the kitchen and saw the wasps crawling in from the crevices. 😂 I never saw any rodents though. On a positive note, I liked how much patio space I had and often ate breakfast outside to avoid the roaches. The office manager and staff Patricia and Brandy were very nice. They deserve to work in a better complex. Beware of Yorktown!
I visited the property on 9/3 to inquire about an apartment home and was greeted and helped by a very nice young lady, Bernice…no i believe it was Brandy. She was very kind, funny and reassuring during the showing. The property which was HUGE and very appealing to the eye with clean pools, a clubhouse, very large apartments, a gym on property, etc. I plan to return to rent an apartment soon! Thanks again Brandy! 😊
First apartment in Houston and it was a disaster. I was told by Patrica(the manager) to right a report because she couldn’t really do anything there mostly and to get things done was to write a report. In the 8 months I signed , there was roaches, no pest control, the garage area always flood when it rain, one way in one way out with take 5 mins just to park. Apartment wasn’t ready. The water is always getting fixed and ect. $650 deposit gone for dust on ceiling fan. The apartment was left spotless. The workers try to work with you but if you have a issue it’s usually noting they can do or help . My experience was bad the 8 months I was here. New Management please . I will add pics, tell me if the breakdown is good lol .
I’ve been here for 3 years and I am resigning for another year! Brandy, Satishma, and the entire maintenance team have always taken care of any issue I had with care and quickness! The complex is very safe and supportive!
I don’t remember her name but i highly recommend the leasing agent that sits at the front desk by the door for excellent service. She was incredibly helpful and made sure I was fully satisfied.
Lived here for half a year now. At first things were okay and staff was friendly and quick to respond but after about 3 months that ended. Brandy was helpful at first but I guess my problem annoyed her to deal with so I have had to deal with her less helpful coworkers. I have had to submit several maintenance requests for the same issue because they don’t fully complete tasks or they half do them, office staff is unhelpful with issues and will often claim there’s “Nothing they can do” even when there are SEVERAL things they can do and if you try and give them solutions they’ll speak over you and do absolutely nothing at all. I have had a continuous issue with tenant noise that has gone unresolved for almost the full year i’ve been living here with no solution to bring me peace and allow me to sleep through the night without noise. There are no officers on duty, courtesy officers aren’t even on site majority of the time so it’s a useless concept. The rent is decent but the hassle and stress of dealing with poor management makes it not worth it to live here at all. Would only recommend if it helps with travel to work or home, otherwise do not live here expecting competent staff. Even the corporate manager Sagar will disregard calls and emails. I recommend moving here only with the knowledge that staff will never be useful or helpful to you. Move at your own risk
I love the space in the apartments and all accommodations, like pool and tennis courts. When ever theres an issue maintenance is there like a speed of lightning LOL Brandy is the best. She is fast, reliable, patient and will try to provide a easy transition to your new home.
Mohamed is a terrible and manipulative leasing agent. He makes you go through the application process convincing you to pay extra unnecessary fees and giving you false hopes requiring insignificant information. No updates on nothing until you constantly contact the leasing office. A very stressful situation
I was struggling a lot in finding a good apt and Yorktown Apt was obviously the best decision I made. Satisma is really sweet and she helped a lot with my move in process. My stay at Yorktown is definitely very peaceful and I’m loving it here.
Living here since past few years and have no complaints till now. All my concerns and issues have been well handled by Satishma. She is so kind, respectful and always helpful.
Ive been a long time resident of Yorktown and overall Ive been more than satisfied with my tenure given the price and location of the apartments. The maintenance staff is friendly and most have been here for decades, office staff have always been courteous to me and get me what I need in a timely manner. Im not sure what else there is to expect seeing the other comments here, but Ive never had a pest issue that wasnt resolved by a treatment every now and then (Im think my neighbors were an issue). I dont plan to leave anytime soon, its a great place to live for a great price.
Maintenance of this apartment is in pathetic shape apart from Roach problem. South Entry and North Exit gates are not working for 6 months in a year. Whatever complaint you do, management dont care. Management act on your complaint only if someone is abused or physically hurt. Stealing car wheels are very common in this property (Photo Attached). 1 hour of rain will flood the pedestrian path. Rain boots is a must if you are living here. In the night, its dark so be careful walking inside property. As gates dont work so anyone enters in this property any time... I dont recommend this property for move in. I might move out next year after my lease expire.Fun Fact --> Last but not the least: Management at this apartment never communicates with residents as they are legally not bound to do so. If you refer their website, communication is their one of their core values (Nurture and encourage communication)... Looks like this company is a fraud as it gives misleading information on their home page, I might be wrong.
Great place to live at, dog friendly, well kept up area all around. Patricia was the one who helped me moved into my apartment she was very kind and respectful and she helped me find the apartment that I was looking for.
These apartments are great with keeping the place looking nice, very dog friendly and stations to clean up after your dog, pool is open all summer long and cleaned weekly. Workers are kind to you at all times.
Terrible service. Waste of time and money. I worked with Satishma Karki for my application, very regretful about it. They dont look through your documents properly then proceed to ask for more and still acting very carelessly when they receive it. They dont care about your mails even if you call the office to TELL THEM TO READ THE MAIL but still they dont. Satishma also wasnt professional, I dont know who is in that office at this point, she had a sarcastic tone all the time when we talked. Paid $150 for nothing.
My experience during my last few months at Yorktown has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I encountered a serious mold issue which I promptly reported. However, when maintenance and a leasing agent inspected the problem, they dismissed it as insignificant, despite it being present on multiple items in my living room, not just my couch. Despite assurances, the promised visit from the property manager never happened.
Had Great tour with Satishma ! Such a beautiful property. Before I left, I also got to speak with the Leasing manager Brandi everyone here is so sweet
My experience on this place is been wonderful. Maria have taken care of me since I walk in for the first Time. I been here more than 2 months and she still taking care of my stuff. Its a very Clean Property, safe, Pet Friendly, Great Residents, lplenty of land to walk my pet around. New Mrg. Is taking care of work orders super fast and she knows her work orders from her head. I can call my place Home! I highly recommend this place to live. My friend just moved here and he loves it! FYI, all office staff are great people, always willing to help even if Maria is not Available lol. They have a Great Maintenance Team. KEP IT UP YORKTOWN!
Excellent place to call home!I I’ve been living in this apartment from past four months and I must say it’s one of the wonderful apartment, also like to express my gratitude to this lovely work team, specially “Satishma”.She is the best, super friendly and always willing to help everyone.Thank you for your exceptional service!
Love it here !! The managers are so kind and the leasing agents are so patient and helpful.
As a resident not satisfied with all services ( including safety, office workers, security) (couldn’t get response via email or phone call regarding broken mirror of my car and when we had water leaking from the ceiling) so sorry but office workers are friendly and kind when you talk to them face to face👍
DO NOT LIVE HERE! The apartments aren’t bad (other than the roaches) but the leasing office is awful. Brandy is the worst leasing manager I’ve ever met, she’s mean and disrespectful. All she cares about is taking your money and taking advantage of you. When I moved out, my apartment was in excellent condition, but no one was available to do a walkthrough, so they charged me over $1400 in bogus move out charges. I took a video before I left because I knew they would do this, but apparently photos and videos aren’t enough proof. I’m trying to dispute the charges but Sagar (the corporate manager) won’t call me back 2 months later. I highly encourage you to NOT rent from any Adara Communities (especially Yorktown Apartments). They’ve taken advantage of so many people.
This has been one of the better communities Ive lived in. The leasing office is a team of highly competent individuals who jump on top of things when they arise, and communicate necessary info in an appropriate time frame. If it werent for the fact that I need a bigger space for a lower rate I would stay here for another 3 years.
Well, I will be honest with my comment about these apartments. I lived there for a year and during that year my neighbor shot and injured another neighbor from another apartment, but well, that is one point, there is no security in these apartments, on the other hand, the electricity bills. You will get from $150 to $200 for an apartment that does not seem coherent to me. I think it is because of the age of the apartments that the electricity bill is so expensive, the water bill, they tell you that they will charge you an approximate amount, they give you the minimum and it is not So they divide the fee of the entire block of neighbors, whether or not you use water, you will have to pay a minimum of $100 and more dollars and when you leave these apartments, your deposit will not be returned to you. They will see the smallest detail so as not to return you, say this is a stain on a carpet. They will make you pay for the entire apartment, everything is abuse and they do not give you a solution, I fell there because it is where they will accept your request very quickly, but be prepared to pay like a luxury apartment and more ! Oh, I forgot and the day after leaving there was another altercation over firearms in the apartments! I do not recommend this place at all!!!
I have been living in Texas for Over 8 years now and I can tell you hands down this is the best apartment complex you can find. I mean they are extremely professional. Very friendly and SAFE community. Exceptional customer service. You put in a service request in less than 24 hours it is solved or you’ll get updates on it. Electricity was cut not a long time ago but I was shocked on how thoughtful the staff was. I mean they went over and beyond my expectations. They were trying to fix the issue, had pizza in the business center for families in the meantime, had the office opened for us to charge our phone and laptops. I mean that was just a genuine gesture and I stand by what I said. This is one of the best complexes you can find! So Thank you again Bianca Thank you Patricia.
Power bill is insanely high, Im talking 600! My mother, sibling and I work part times while our mother works 4 and still dont have enough to cover on time without our power being cut off! I swear Im going to cause some problems if I dont get a damn explanation on why its so damn high. This keeps were going to end up on the streets Yorktown apartments you better fix this nonsense
Upon visiting this place, I was greeted by Brandy. She is the most warm-hearted, polite, professional, joyful, friendly, transparent apartment manager I have met in a long time. She makes you feel welcome from the start. The location of the apartments is in a nice area. Each time I visit I feel safe. I have witnessed the improvements in the upkeep and remodeling of the property. My family member has lived there for now 2 years. Never has there been a problem Brandy did not solve in a timely manner. She is caring and compassion toward the tenants and their needs and concerns. I love how she has taken control of making sure this property is safe and clean. No place is perfect but this place is on its way to being one of the best apartments to live.
These are photos from our laundry room at Yorktown Apartments. Since the beginning of April 2018, we have notified the Management that certain residents have been throwing their garbage in the laundry room. We emailed, went to the office to complain, called but none of them did anything. In fact, the Assistant Manager, Patricia Arias, avoided calls on the matter and had her staff lied that she was busy at any given time. These photos were taken at various times in April. Due to the negligence of the staff, we have even more roaches than before. In the last 16 months, we have seen 3 different managers and loads of office staff but never has the situation been so bad nor the staff been so rude. It all boils down to the manager, Jennifer Wickman, who refuses to answer our concerns of safety (because there are break ins and burglaries so often) even after countless emails, who refused to look into this garbage problem, who is unable to get exit and entry gates to work at all times (one gate or another is always open for up to 10 days, allowing for street people to roam about freely and even sleep on the property). There is always an elevator that doesnt work, there are areas with no tiles on the hallways and the staff rudely reply they dont know when this will be fixed if asked. There are cleaning ladies but it seems they only clean the Leasing Office. The common areas are usually very dirty. We have even had to speak to an attorney, file complaints with the Houston Housing Authority and HUD because apart from discrimination (a large part of the community in this complex is South Asian), we cannot figure out why the office staff, Assistant Manager and Manager are so rude and refuse to be helpful to us. To not even have this garbage in the laundry room situation taken care of in a space of 1 whole month.....there is a limit. Please dont waste your money renting here. They deserve no stars.
Sometimes, you will have a surprise guest knocking the door at 8’O clock in the night asking for donations, subscribe for Houston Chron paper which shows that property accessible to everyone at any time. There used be security guard at community who monitors and ask each person who enters the property if they are suspicious. They have removed security guard now they are not ready to keep security guard. In past few months there are few burglary incidents on the property. Apartment Break-ins, Car wheels robbery night time. Each time 3 to 4 car wheels/rims got stolen. In last two moths incident occurred twice, both occurred during night time. Both incidents occurred when gates kept opened for days. Entry and Exit gates gets break frequently and it will take weeks to get it repaired. Management not ready to replace the gates and they keep giving silly reasons on why gates get repaired.Whenever heavy rain occurs the garage gets flooded in 30-60 minutes. If you have Sedan car and then you have to keep the car outside to avoid car flooding. Earlier courtyard used to flood and water used to come into few first floor apartments, after some maintenance courtyard looks goods now. It took years to clean the courtyards. No one expect property management to function like Security Company etc., Property management should have minimum responsibility to address the security concerns of the community, property management not concerned about the people who live here.
This complex constantly turns over new management and nothing ever gets fixed. I had water damage in my window over a year ago, and management said it was fine and did not fix it. A year later, my vents are infested with mold and it took the property manager a week to schedule a cleaning. When the property manager and owner looked at my place, he was very unprofessional, took the mold and wiped it in his hand and brought it up to my face. I had to tell him to get it out of my face and dont touch me. In my own apartment. This could be toxic black mold. I also showed him a new water leak that had developed in my bedroom ceiling. After the vents were finally cleaned, a storm came in. Water is currently leaking through my ceiling into my room because the manager said that he would not fix it. The building is so infested with mold, mildew (after vents were cleaned) is now growing out of the unfixed crack from over a year ago.Management was also supposed to clean my carpets today and never showed. Managers are never in the office and never follow up on anything.Multiple break-ins have occurred, multiple times vehicles have had their tires stolen off their vehicles in the garage because the gates remain opened as management refuses to repair them. Last weekend, a young man stole Versace belts from the Galleria and ran into the complex to hide out and wait for his friend to pick him up. He was walking around the community looking for a number to call his getaway car because the gates were broken and he could easily hide here. This place has really deteriorated in the last year Ive been living here, and I no longer feel safe.
I am very grateful for Satishma’s dedication and hard work. For anyone looking to lease an apartment,I highly recommend her.Her professionalism and commitment to her clients is truly commendable.
I wouldn’t advise anyone to apply here units are spacious however office staff is slow and lacks proper communication skills. I applied for this place a day after moving to Texas for work paid 50 for the application and 100 in admin fees. I feel I pretty much just gave them free money as I didn’t hear anything after I paid and applied. I would constantly call for updates only to be told they were waiting on one more thing and I would have an answer that day. Then surprise no answer. It was about 2 weeks of the back and forth when I finally asked for the admin fee to be refunded. I was told it was non refundable shocker there. So they pretty much took my money for an application and kept me waiting in the dark until I was finally forced to apply elsewhere so that I would have a place to live before my deadline. Just don’t waste your time if they are this slow getting tenants in imagine how slow they are going to be if you live there
Two years ago it was a good placeBut now it’s a disasterAnimals waste everywhere for weeks ,they try to charge you for anything and they will, and finally good luck if it’s rainingI think there’s a change in management
Seven years renting. From the staff very nice service. I like this place.
Yorktown apartments has been a wonderful place to live since moving here. The complex is pretty quiet and accessible to several highways. With this being a new experience for myself and family, the leasing staff has been nothing but helpful. Specifically, Brandy, one of the leasing managers is always helpful. She’s always professional and determined to meet the individual needs of tenants. No matter the time or day, she’s very reliable and always present a positive demeanor. My only con is that the gym equipment needs to be updated.
I have been living here for last 10 years and I thoroughly enjoy my living here.Satishma, Brandy and Patricia are always ready to help and treat me like a family.
Phenomenal customer service! Brandy and her team were all so helpful during the process and after. Maintenance is always on point—I wake up every morning seeing workers cleaning and keeping the community tidy. On top of that they are all very polite and made me and my family feel very welcomed. 5 stars easy!! (:
My friend was deceived into paying $150 in fees with the promise that the apartment would be ready for him afterward. The individuals involved were unprofessional and did not deliver on their promises. I strongly advise everyone to avoid these fraudulent individuals.
I have renewed my lease to spend year 2 here at Yorktown apartments and probably many more. Any time I have had any concerns or issues Brandy has made sure that I am well taken care of and has made my experience here wonderful. Patrica and Pollet are also both helpful and kind. The Maintenance crew always ensures that you are taken care of. The community is peaceful and I’ve always felt very safe.
Leo and the rest of the maintenance crew are very nice people, and Pedro is a good leader. There is issues, but the overall is much better and getting better. Last year they made a serious investment upgrading laundry rooms as well as putting lighted covers on the walkways. Pool area got brand new eras with cover, grills and seating. Miss Patricia, the assistant manager is a very put together person and takes things seriously thus leading by example. Miss brandy has been super attentive, and it’s appreciated in many ways. The manager Mr. Sagar is very fashionable and very kind, his help was appreciated. The upgrades and weatherization of the property was amazing to watch. Thank you guys. Never had any security issues, they have night guard and some off office staff live on property. Lit tennis court at night. I love the priorities!!!
I do not completely recommend this place. It is an unorganized place. There is dirt everywhere. There are cockroaches and rats. its not saff at allThe management is uncooperative. The laundry places down substandard and always have breakdowns. It is a very bad environment. When I ended my contract with them, I was surprised with a bill for $1,000, even though I sat in the place for four years. even Maintenance does not want to do it. They try to take advantage of every person for any amount. They are truly very bad management.
I told the complex I’m not renewing my lease since the money they want for the units are higher than they are actually worth! Soon as I gave them a notice about not renewing they completely did the unimaginable! The next day I woke up to my car’s all four rims and tires being stolen! They have shown no signs of concern or remorse to even help me! These apartments are nasty and have so many issues like bad flooring, electrical wiring, not being properly insulated (expect a high and low light bill), the roaches. EVEN IF YOU CALL PEST CONTROL THEY STILL DO NOT HELP GET RID OF THEM! There is no patrol officer like they say it is! I strongly believe that the apartment complex itself did this to my car and I URGE ANYONE NOT TO MOVE HERE! So the best idea is to find somewhere else like I did, this is a terrible place and even tho it’s by the galleria doesn’t mean it is upscale or up to code! They have so many issues and the staff are very unprofessional
Been here a year- pest control doesn’t come nearly enough despite numerous requests- hot water for shower fluctuates, has been fixed several times and it goes back to changing from hot to cold within seconds- our broken elevator hasn’t worked since “fixing it” for 4 months, we live on 3rd floor and I’m a week postpartum.- husband’s car towed and the signage was not clearly visible on the front window, it was on the drivers side window- gates are broken very often- we just got a new fridge after my husband complained about everything I’ve already mentioned aboveBrandy has actually been the only professional so I applaud her efforts to make our stay here comfortable, but the whole management could do a lot better with communication. If you want to deal with all the mess, overall you will enjoy the quiet environment and absolutely no drama. Neighbors keep to themselves, and it’s just “minor” inconveniences you can work with. The amenities are great too, but it would be 2 stars if the elevator was fixed before I gave birth.
I love it here really smooth , brandy at the front office is really helpful and nice , one time we were locked out really late at night and with out a hesitation came to assist. Thanks 🙏🏼🚀👍
I’ve lived here for over a year now and haven’t any issues or reasons to complain. The property is open and full of greenery which is great and not common considering we live in the city and, most other complexes are just surrounded by more buildings. The maintenance team is always extremely quick to respond to service requests, sometimes within the hour. The front office team has always been extremely polite and helpful when I’ve talked to them. I recently had an issue with my new bank when trying to submit my rent payment but Brandy was extremely helpful and understanding about the situation. Was in and out of the front office within 5 minutes. I definitely recommend Yorktown to anyone looking to move into the galleria area.
We lived in this complex for 2 years, we had constant problems with mold, there were carpets everywhere, from which we had health problems, there is a lot of dust in the apartment, and even vacuuming every day does not help. When it was time to move out, we freshened up the walls with new paint, washed the bath, even the windows, rented a vacuum cleaner to clean the carpet, cleaned for two days. When we checked out it was much cleaner and better than when we moved in. And these unscrupulous deceivers charged us $100 for cleaning, Its upsetting to me.This is the worst place where we lived, especially I do not advise you to live there with children and take care of your health. WE WERE CONSTANTLY COMPLAINTING AND NO ONE HAS SOLVED OUR PROBLEMS WITH MOLD!!!Living there is just life-threatening and they absolutely dont care about it.
Welcome to RoachTown apartment. If you love cockroaches then you will feel at home here. The entire complex is infested my cockroaches but the leasing office will try to blame you for the roach infestation saying it’s your fault because you didn’t kept your apartment tidy ..It don’t matter how clean and tidy you keep it the roach will always be there . The pest control is a joke , it’s not going to solve your roach infestation.
Worst place to live. You always got to be on your toes living here. Your car and assets are always in danger living here. Weird people walking around the apartments at night. Every other day there is somebody whose car is broken into or rims are missing in the morning Security is a joke. There has been countless thefts and vandalism in the vehicles here. My brand new car got it rims stolen the day after i bought and parked it in the garage. The worst part is there is no response from management. They dont care about the tenants at all. All they care about is raising the price of your rent when its time to pay. Worst management ever. Dont fall for the phone high reviews. Save your money and find a better SAFER place for you and your family.
I would not recommend living here. Management is extremely unorganized, service requests get filled as if you did it yourself, and you have to constantly have them come back to fix the same things. The property is crowded with children, constantly screaming, running, leaving their items all over the property as well as vandalism. The gym is subpar at best, the machines are old, tons of the weights are missing and half the time the AC isn’t working properly. The laundry rooms are never fully operational, there is always several machines that are down or not working. The sand volleyball pit is essentially a cat litter box for the literal 30+ stray cats on property. Community areas are always taken, so don’t expect to use them much.. and for security… there are tons of car break ins in the parking garage, and the gate is only working half the time leaving it open for anyone to come in. Not to mention you have to drive all the way around the entire property to exit/enter when they have two gates on both sides. Makes no sense, very inconvenient, and causes ppl to drive out of the gates the wrong way. The only thing good about living here is the location. Aside from that you can find a much better place in the area for the same price. And like i said management is terrible and unprofessional, except Brandy, she’s the only good person on the team. Regardless, trust me and go live somewhere else.
I have lived in this complex going on 12 years and there has been so many improvements in the last 3-4 years. Although the property can look unkept at times due to ongoing upgrades to the apartments I must say the staff is constantly working hard to make things better. It looks as if the back pool got a makeover this past week that’s something my kids are looking forward to using. I’ve read some of these reviews andI can honestly say I’m flabbergasted. This is an older complex things aren’t perfect but the office staff works really hard to make sure things get done. Anytime I’ve ever went to the office the staff has always been super sweet and helpful.
Very unprofessional Customer service is the worst here. They never pick up whenever you call them. I have confronted the leasing office so many times no action has been taken. Buildings are really old. Infested with bugs, Mold every where. Building Hallways tiles are damaged. Not safe for kids to play around. Gates always malfunctioning and ope, Countless theft and vandalism reported and still no proper security on board. Save your money go anywhere else. And the worst part is The staff in the leasing office deliberately ask you to leave a 5 star review which I would if they deserve it. But frankly they dont. Most of the good reviews are phoney
I have renewed my lease for my second year here at Yorktown apartments. The community is peaceful and I’ve always felt very safe ofc stuff happens but thats everywhere and exceptions are rare here. But any time I have had any concerns or issues Brandy has alwayd made sure that I am well taken care of and has made my experience here wonderful. Satishma and Pollet were also very helpful and kind each time i step in to the leasing office. The Maintenance is nice always my stuff are getting taking care of quickly. The community is peaceful and I’ve always felt very safe i never had any theft incidents and i will be staying here as long as i am in houston for sure.
This property has really taken a turn for the better. Although it’s a process of renovating the new staff and management makes it worth the wait. Brandy who works in the leasing especially! She honestly gets things done and actually a great addition to the change. The maintenance team is awesome as well(Leo). Great area to live in. Everything is super close from grocery stores, dining options, and bars. It’s just a dated property but In the works of something beautiful!
This is a great apartment for a first time renter who is ok with minimal frills/perks. The application process was pretty rocky. The leasing agent Mona really fumbled on this one, when I picked a unit that was still in renovation I asked when it would be ready for move in. Mona let me know that it would be ready when I’m ready for move in. I picked a move in date and they didn’t let me know until an 3-4pm that it wasn’t ready and we had to reschedule. New date comes around and the unit is still not ready. Brandy had to save the sale on this one and reassured me that it would be ready this next time around. Third time’s the charm and I finally move in.Since then, living here has been pretty seamless. Maintenance has been very responsive and friendly. Just about all the requests I put in they showed up the next day or they gave me a call to get some clarification or provide explanation. The leasing office is very responsive on outages and try really hard for whats within their scope to keep us updated. Brandy has been very friendly and an overall great agent and Im always looking to her if I ever need to go in the office. The grounds are always very clean and the pools are taken cared of during the warmer months. I havent experienced any serious flooding but with the Galleria area being so flood prone, I wouldnt be surprised. Some cons are: There is a roach problem in the warmer months. I almost want to chalk it up as it being an older building and Houston. The paint job does look a little tacky as if they painted over the walls/doors/cabinets without prepping. I have issues closing my bedroom door due to them just painting over the hardware. The weatherstripping is pretty bad, any cold/warm air you have in your apartment will go right out the door (literally). If you dont want to read through all of that: My personal application experience was pretty poor but Brandy came to the rescue. Maintenance is fast, and youre getting what the apartment is worth.
Not worth staying here. Buildings are infested with bugs and what not. Pest control is a joke. Feels like they only spray water and it never resolves. You pay pest control for nothing. The way they manage the property feels like living in an abandoned asylum. Terrible customer service, calling the leasing office for your concerns to be addressed is a waste of breath. The only they are good at is upcharging you when its time to renew and ask you to leave 5 star reviews in exchange for favors. Ridiculous!! Find better apartments than this bugs den
Guys DO NOT NEVER EVER waste your money to live here … they will charge you money for no reason .. you won’t never get back your deposit .. it’s just insane how bad they are and how bad is the service 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The worst apartment I have ever lived in! we waited 1 hour in a half to get our keys, which we made an appointment for. The place is invested with roaches. Whenever we move out they charge a bunch of crazy fees just to rob us of our deposit. We have never been late in rent the whole 12 months we have lived there. Please don’t live there.
Great Apartments with prime location. Easy access to public transit and freeways. There used to be a problem with maintenance and break-ins in the past but the new management is very good and invested a lot in maintenance, security and beautification and are very responsive to service requests. The apartments have now become very secure and safe since the last couple of years. Patricia, Maria and other administrative staff are very helpful and responsive. Ive lived here for 5 years and couldnt have chosen a better place for my stay in Houston.
Been living here now 16 months and not a fan. They just started to finally renovate the landscape and pool areas which is nice and greatly appreciated since were paying close to 1k a month for a one bed one bath. They wont renovate our outdated apartments tho. They half-do the maintenance work so nothing is genuinely fixed so it breaks again. They charge for EVERYTHING. I had 500 credit for my apartment from the previous payment and its now at 106 in credits and this was all this month in July. I dont know why I was charged or what I was charged for but I know that the money is gone and when I have called to ask no answer and they wont return the voicemail. I have reached out to the office several times four to be exact to try to renew because they have me on month to month after Ive already signed my lease and still no one has reached out. There are pests in the apartments that they havent taken care of Brandy attempted to but I wasnt home at the time of that visit so he left and no one has tried to send him back. All in all they dont care about the residents like they should.
Lovely apartments, very beautiful and CLEAN! My favorite part about this place would be how well kept the community is and definitely the tennis court that is at this community. Friendly staff that will answer all of your questions. Brandy and Satishma are very very very helpful. Always I feel Satishma is like my family member. Every time they helped me a lot when it was required. this apartment feels me my own house.
I moved here in April and I absolutely love the service and location of these apartments. The maintenance is always available and quick and the community is very peaceful. The office has been really helpful and I don’t have any complaints. Very secure environment to make me feel safe and comfortable along with security watching over night.✅
From roughly the year I spent at Yorktown Apartments, I can honestly say that my time here was nothing short of outstanding. I had hands down the best renters experience to date, thanks to Yorktowns finest leasing manager, Brandy Medel. Man, if you want to talk about someone who knows how to get things done! Brandy went above and beyond to make sure I was treated like a valued tenant, throughout the entirety of my lease. Regardless of whatever she may be doing, anytime I needed to speak with her, Brandy had my back. She would go out of her way to take care of me and handle any situation with the upmost personable kindness and grace. Moreover, the price is great for the location and I enjoyed my morning walks to the Galleria. I can not thank Brandy enough for the assistance she provided during my stay!
I usually dont go out of my way to write reviews unless something is really bad or really good. Todays occasion is the latter. Our family moved into the complex in May and this has been one of the nicest apartment experiences we have ever had. The place where I used to live was horrible. Here at Yorktown, the management is attentive. Gabby was our first point of contact when we started looking and she was very professional and followed through on everything. Maintenance is very responsive and, currently, they are doing a lot to really spruce up the whole property. As for the other residents, the people I have met have been here for years, and that speaks volumes to me. There was a lot of criminal mischief in our old place but we have not witnessed anything of the sort here. How fortunate! The location is really good and I really love our unit - it feels like a home. The entire property is pretty well-kept.I am really hoping to see Yorktowns ratings go up. I can only imagine that the poor ratings were given during the time of previous management.
Yorktown apartments has improved a lot since the last visit 2 years ago. It’s quite decently priced for the uptown location. So I decided to move in here. Yet to discover the community.Specially wanted to mention about Monali, the leasing associate, who helped us make the moving decision so smooth. She was very patient to understand our specific needs and helped us to look into multiple options. I have never seen such a nice leasing professional earlier. Five stars for the professionalism and patience.
I have been here for quite sometime and no joke this is the most unsafe place in Houston. I have seen bullets so many break ins in vehicles here I even changed my apartment to another building for the sake of safety but ended up losing all my deposit and fees over some non clarified stuff from the office. Would not recommend this place at all. I moved out and would never look back and dont buy into the voodoo words. There more to it than what meets the eye here. For your own safety Do not move here
I want to thank the ladies at Yorktown Patricia, Melissa and Brandy. They have been such a great help with my rental assistance during COVID, for taking the time to make sure that my service requests are completed. They are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. I was going to move but decided to renew for another year. For the location the rent is reasonable. Ive been here now going on 4 years and I wouldnt change it. I just want to say to anyone who leaves a comment, be mindful that working as a leasing agent is not easy. They deal with a lot and handle not only the residents but those who come in to want to look at an apartment. I want to add that Pedro and Leo are awesome. Take some time to send an appreciation to the ladies at Yorktown. Thank you
I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and thanks to Brandy for her great communication and follow up.Its always a pleasure to speak with her as well as all the other staff members in the leasing office and maintenance staff as well. Everyone is always polite and approachable. So, thanks Yorktown Apartments for the great customer service.
Good evening everyone, I’m writing you this in hopes this might help you make a decision like it helped me. *reader discretion advised*Man this place got roaches all over the place. Everywhere you look theres roaches doing the nasty and multiplying. On top of that the leasing agent was rude, she queen roach. I would never recommend anyone coming one here.
Ive lived here for almost 3 years and the staff is amazing . Maintenance is very responsive . Thank you Pedro and Leo for always making sure all of our needs are met. Thank you Brandy for following through on things being done you are truly an amazing asset to Adara !
I highly recommend the Yorktown apartments to my friends and family . Excellent apartments I moved to Yorktown apartments and they provide excellent customer service and cater to my needs promptly and professionally . Maria she was very nice and attentive to my every detailed want . She helped me every step of the way she was diligent about answering all my questions and extremely knowledgeable and was super patient with me . I couldn’t believe how quick the turn around was and contacted me every step of the way . The staff and maintenance team are super great and friendly , they responded to my service requests super fast . I love the atmosphere here the view and how clean it is here , trash on the ground trash picked up I love the walking trail . I especially enjoy the walk to restaurants , and bars groceries , the park and the galleria mall . The apartments are well kept I expecially love the granite counter tops and the swimming pools and tennis courts . The feeling while walking or jogging in the neighborhood is amazing .
Ive lived here almost two years now and I couldnt ask for a better housing situation. Brandy, one of the leasing agents, has taken care of me with the aptitude of a professional and the friendliness of a neighbor. Any issues I have are quickly resolved. You cant find nicer grounds in this area of Houston and there is ever a security patrol at night! Overall, this is the most bang for your buck in Galleria area!
I went to the office to get speak with the manager because I was fed up of waiting for almost a week for my service request. And the only thing she was considered about was getting a 5 star review rather than helping me out. I honestly feel disappointed that they are fooling people based on reviews to get more business. All is have to say is I would give you 5 star if you are worth giving 5 stars. Very disappointing. Cant wait to move out
A standing ovation to the front office management team. I have never renewed my lease at the same place more than once. However, with extreme dedication to customer satisfaction I just couldnt find any excuse to move. I hope the are equally rewarded for their excellence by Adara communities.Long story short, speaking only for the pros,1. Quick management and turnarounds on repairs (like within 24hr)2. Provide secured parking space for more than 1 car without charging.3. onsite night security provided.4. Many floor plans to choose from.5. In house technicians are resourceful and respectful. Hats off to LEO.Speaking of the cons that I read:1. vandalism had occured in the past(its true), but so has next door at Creole all the time (probably everywhere these days)2. The pest control DOES needs some work.3. Night Patrol is in place now. i see a Camry with security lights making rounds around the campus.4. No! this review is not phoney and I endorse it lolz.5. A little improvement needed with timely communications.6. Yes things do break here and there espcially with hot water as I believe its centrally managed. but I had the same issue next door apartments.guess you have to live here once to try it out !!!Adios !
Posting on behalf of a friend . He recently moved out and clean and thoroughly cleaned his unit left it spotless and still he received this charges of $1277 of bogus cleaning fee they made of .. please please please do not move to this Roach and rodent infested apartment and all the leasing office staffs are rude and crooked .
I have been staying on this property for over 5 years now. I want to share my experience with Jasbir who is the new manager on the property. Contrary to my past experiences with previous managers, she is a thorough professional and is highly focused on the residents. I had a very pleasant experience with her when I was discussed about some concerns on my apartment. She gave me a timeline and made sure to call me back for the updates within the timeline. During my recent visit to the office I was surprised the with the way she handles her team on the property. I had never seen such professionalism during my tenure here at the property.
The complex it’s self is not bad just really over dew for some new paint which causes the hallways to look dirty. The people who live here are also not the cleanest. The kids are super loud and parents don’t watch them. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff especially Brandy! She is the super woman of Yorktown apartments. She does what she says she will and is always on top of things. She is the reason why I rented here due to her professionalism. Thank you Brandy!
Staff is superior. Kind, helpful and very polite. Went to view an apartment there were about 4 other people in the office. I was acknowledged promptly so I didn’t mind waiting to be assisted. Apartment were nicely renovated and decent sized. Grounds are nicely manicured and they are dog friendly. Close to The Galleria so the location is excellent. Priced reasonably well for the area and upgrades.
I am living hear since 2015.Itss a nice, quiet and safe location. The building is old but they keep renovating .Past couple of years the Manager kept changing every few months but with property manager Jessi back things are going back to normal. She is a great manager , very welcoming and always on top of things. Would like to mention Patricia as well as she too is great. Maintenance staff Pedro and Leo are always their to fix things. Overall I like staying here and it feels like a family.
I shoulda seen the red flags but still applied.*Application fee scam alert*The application process took over 6 weeks of communication. I would call and email and just get ignored….Very disorganized process, they asked me for paperwork I already sent (2X) which means they lost the info at some point. They are prejudice to who lives there even if you qualify and It’s just not my cup of tea. So even with outstanding credit, and a steady income you may not be be approved.Glad I found another place in the area much better (easy & fair app process quick approval). If this is how Yorktown treats potential customers, Imagine how they’ll treat you when you sign and pay….yikes- good luck!P.S- Unless they try to dismiss my review, I will not name drop who I corresponded with in hopes to give her grace to improve.
Using my other account for privacy but I am in the mood to review so I will.Pros: great location, good for the price, mostly quiet, spacious bedroom, maintenance quick and efficient, renovations in effectCons: extremely outdated unless you have a renovated unit, tiny kitchen, ROACHES (these apartments turned me into a clean freak because I took a nap and forgot to throw my dinner plate out and there was already a roach), my floor was crooked due to the building’s age im assuming so sleeping was a pain, saw a car without wheels and on cinder blocks in front of mine.for the price these aren’t that bad. They aren’t luxurious but they get the job done. So if you don’t have a large budget, I recommend them. A true 3/5 for the price range (2/5 otherwise). They were great for my previous situation. I did not have too many problems here
If you’re looking to move here, alot of the existing residents will strongly urge you to reconsider! Horrible water pressure! HORRIBLE office staff that love to argue with the residents! The property manager is antisocial and will refuse to speak to residents. The office will not accept phone calls unless you repeatedly call over four times. Laundry rooms have extreme water damage as well as mold in the walls and ceilings. Daily water shut offs which the office blames on the city. The sidewalks flood so you better have rain boots ready! And to top it all off they claim to have over 2 million dollars in renovations but the horribly inexperienced people they hire to “renovate” the property park in your assigned parking spots but oh you can’t complain because the staff will argue with you and say that they do not assign parking but they’ll still violate you with a sticker on your vehicle window if you’re not parked in a spot that they’re okay with. This place is such an utter joke!
I am a resident at the Yorktown apartments for the past 5 years. I am highly satisfied and grateful for Ms. Brandy and the maintenance team. They always treat us with the utmost respect and care. I appreciate Ms. Brandys professionalism, dedication and efforts. I hope that the Company values their employees and rewards their work ethics. Thank you Yorktown team!
Yes PEST CONTROL is a problem here, but its not the worst Ive seen. Answering MAINTENANCE REQUEST is slow sometimes. Ive had same day answers, but Ive also been waiting 2 WEEKS to have a BROKEN WINDOW repaired. The window cracked under building pressure, I believe. Its an old building and has undergone a good amount of shifting. The elevation in my bedroom is off by 2 inches.Water SHUT OFFS happen about once a month with no warning. Water Temperature fluctuates frequently and drastically. I have not enjoyed a long relaxing shower since I moved in.If you get a flat tire your car WILL BE TOWED from the parking lot AT YOUR EXPENSE. FEES and PRICE GAUGING is the Yorktown motto: Their payment system has flaws that they wont address and you only have 2 days grace period to pay bills, before access to the payment system is denied and you have to get a money order (Makes No Sense) and are hit with $100 late fees that increase daily. This complex would be better if it was under better management. Its TOO EXPENSIVE and the staff (although nice) seem to be at a loss, when it comes to performing the more important parts of their job. They constantly brush off complaints and give inaccurate answers to questions (which has cost me personally).PROS: Its quiet and has pleasant interior landscaping. The walls dampen sound better than many places around...However, the windows in our unit are single pane and very thin! Almost no difference in sound between a opened or closed window. And Garbage Trucks consistently arrive between 2am-5am, which will wake you up.It can be comfortable living, but at too high a cost.
I move in later this month but just wanted to brag on the leasing staff and how amazing they have been. Brandy has been very involved every step of the way and I cant say enough good things about her. I am excited to move in and will update on the property itself in the coming months.
The manager Jessie helped us sort out the new renewal lease..very professional. Nice apartments and the area is safe..Lol I was told to write the review and give 5 stars above infront of the manager. Most of the 5 star reviews here they make you write it in the office infront of the manager when you are signing your lease.Heres the real review. These guys are crooks. All they care about is getting the maximum out of your pocket. The gates are wide open and 7 out of 10 times not working so yea you are responsible for your own safety. The buildings are old and in dire need of remodeling. The apartment was full of roaches ever since we moved in and even tho they charge u for a pest control fee every month they only show up 1 out of 5 times u schedule a service rest of the times no one shows up and they mark the service order as complete. The elevators arent working most of the time. Even though I tried to be a good tenant through out my time here they have failed to be a good landlord. Oh and yes your security deposit you can forget about that they will bring up bogus charges unless u remodel the apartment yourself before moving out and make it look like brand new. Normal wear and tear apparently is not an option.. Im filing a case against them to the renters union and city housing comission.
Very nice managers!!!! A great place for people who don’t have car! Close to shopping mall! Safe and friendly!!!
Yorktown apartments is much more than meets the eye. Yes it is an older apartment complex and all that comes with such, but there are constant improvements and things that are still in the works. But what has set this apartment complex apart for to has been the people. I have lived in apartment complexes for all of my adult life and have never really known my neighbors or the office staff. The neighbors are so friendly and very helpful and always seem to look out for one another. The office staff is very down to earth and available when you need them. Brandy and Sagar have been amazing so far!
My fiancé and I love living here. There’s always hot water, never seen a bug in my apartment, and everyone is so friendly. Maintenance is usually pretty quick to come out and they fix things in minutes. The community is very diverse so no one really sticks out. Theres elevators so living on the third floor is easy. There’s trash chutes and laundry facilities EVERYWHERE. It’s a nice place to live and it’s very affordable. Will be staying here until we buy a house!
Been living here for a year now, and have no complaints! These apartments are great! Incredible staff and maintenance. Brandy always helps me out with anything I need. Safe neighborhood too.
Don’t visit or stay here. Person living here said the ladies name is Brandy supposedly a manager and the other guy is a leasing agent. Both were extremely rude to me while I was DoorDash in at their community after talking with my client that I was dropping food off to he told me that they are like that with them as well while they live there in HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND!!
My outlets were smoking, I found mold in my bathroom & my apartment flooded, all in the month of November. Then that same unit flooded again in February. Not because of rain but because of the pipes in that unit. I get emails multiple times a month about water being shut off, annoying. Would recommend renting elsewhere, management is terrible, apartments are old & need to be renovated.
Outside it looks really nice and pretty but when you go inside you’ll see the apartments are full of roaches, it’s soo bad you can smell it in the hallway :( I wouldn’t recommend people to live here is very unsanitary, I know for the price it might be good and the are but it’s not worth it
I love the community. Great price for the area. Easy access to bus route. Clean environment. Amazing staff. Needless to say I feel right at home. 5,000 GOLD STARS❤️
Please do come and Visit Houstons best apartments, some of the good Qualities of this apartments are:1. Full of roaches2. It welcomes everyone. You will hardly find its security gates working and most of the times they are open 24x7 and welcomes roadies, homeless, thieves etc. and provide them the opportunities to do whatever they want.Even if the gates working half of the Houston public knows its security code.3. Comprehensive insurance is mandatory for the cars because you never know when it will get flooded, vandalized. There are already lot of instances of Tires and Rims were got stolen. Shouldnt get surprise even if you are car stolen.4. No security is provided for what so ever, you are allowed to call your family frequently to check the status there if you are working or outside.5. Pets are allowed here and even they can swim with you in the pool. Do not get surprise if you find any street dogs, cats.6.You are Work Order will be generated as soon you call or create online, but please forget its resolution.it can happen sometime if the crew is available and wish to do your WO.7. You can see many suspicious activities, but please keep quiet. Even if you complain, No actions will be taken by management. You might end up with nothing.8. Please have a good rental insurance policy. Break-in can happen at any time in your apartment when you are in vacation or out.The only good thing about this apartment is: This area is in mid of the city and most of the freeways and stores are very near to reach. One of my friend correctly Said “one who can live in Yorktown, can live anywhere in the world”
I have had one of the worst experiences with this apartment and its management. The apartment is very old and not at all well maintained. It is full of Roaches and bugs. Most importantly, it is not at all secure. Thefts are very common in this apartment. In my 8 months here, there have been many thefts. Car tires being jacked, homes have been looted and i also heard from tenant that people have been robbed at gunpoint here. I am also one of the victims of thefts. All 4 tires of my new car were stolen. I complained to the management and they did not do anything about it. The security measures here are below average and they really dont care. No complain works. They wont improve security even after multiple thefts. No security cameras... no monitoring... secure entry and exit... I would not suggest this place to anyone.
Caution before renting here. Maybe your experience will be different.I really wanted to like these apartments. They are very nice looking in person and the model apartment they showed me was very nice as well. But, the leasing agents have been nothing but unprofessional towards me. When I first walked in, Maria didnt even greet me, but had the rudest attitude ever. Told her I had an appointment with Mona which we JUST scheduled the day before. Mona was standing across the other side of the room and didnt even acknowledge I was there. I was just repeatedly told that she was on her way to lunch, as if I didnt have a SCHEDULED appointment. That same day, I was told by Maria I could get a similar apartment for the same rate I saw online since the apartment I was interested in was already leased. Fast foward to today. I spoke to Mona yesterday about a quote for an apartment. She told me the SAME THING as Maria about getting a similar apartment. Even wrote up a quote and emailed it to me. But, as soon as I mention it, she now doesnt know what Im talking about?! It was just yesterday you told me this??? Then she hangs up on me when I was talking. They are so rude and unprofessional and honestly have turned me off from wanting to rent from these apartments just so I dont have to deal with that in the future.
I came in last week for a tour of the property. I had an appointment with one of the leasing agents. I waited 15 mins after my time to start the tour, she was apologetic about it saying no one informed her that I was waiting for her. That is why its not 5 stars, its an older complex so bear in mind while touring them. I did not like how in the model I viewed the kitchen was closed off and the storage was not in a more secure area.Mona was really nice and answered all my questions.. Other than that it is nice, walk-in distance to the Galleria mall and freeway.
Yorktown apartments is an amazing place to reside, I will definitely recommend this to my friends as I completed around a year here, I want to continue the lease with the Yorktown apartments only, I am thankful to the front desk staff/management, who quickly resolve minor to major issues, especial the Manager Mr. Sagar, he is awesome, listens each and every issue with a lot of patience and resolves it. He cares not only for the future residents but for present residents as well. He is very helpful, energetic and a visionary person with outstanding management skills.
I love living at this place. I feel safe, Brandy in the leasing office is awesome, & very helpful. And also it’s a good price for the area. Everything that I have needed help with maintenance has gotten it done within a few hours. It is super quiet also.
I have lived here for 3 years and for the most part, my experience has been positive. Of course in that time issues have come up that were frustrating but the staff did what they could to rectify the situations and were apologetic when they dropped the ball. This review will be a bit lengthy but having been here for a while these are things I think any potential resident should know.AESTHETICS: First of all, this is an OLD apartment complex. If you are looking for pristine interiors and 5 star amenities such as a resort style pool and top notch fitness center, look elsewhere and be prepared to pay MUCH more. The pools are nice and the gym is functional albeit outdated with old equipment but it has the very basics. The whole place needs a little facelift for sure but to their credit, they have made some great improvements lately such as painting the exteriors, adding lighting in the parking lots and replacing the hideous patio railing and fencing in the back of the property. I got a unit that had faux wood laminate flooring throughout which I love the look of but over time, the panels will warp and start to come up due to the adhesive wearing down. Everything is covered in a THICK coat of white paint and baseboards could definitely use replacing but overall I have loved my little apartment these last few years.PESTS: Keep in mind this place has a lot of trees which I love but because of that, you will see some bugs. Up until about 6 months ago, I never had any issues with roaches aside from the occasional giant tree roach that would find its way inside during the summer months. Out of nowhere, these little German cockroaches have invaded my kitchen and I CANNOT get rid of them. Im not sure if its a new neighbor or what but its been frustrating. In the summer months I also had little tiny centipedes crawling all over the place which was more nuisance than anything because they werent just in one room but everywhere! You will also see lots of squirrels and the occasional opossum or raccoon. I have seen one rat in 3 years but the many cats in the complex keep them at bay I guess.SAFETY: I have only seen signs of crime on the property a few times in my 3 years here. On one or two occasions I saw cars on cinder blocks in the garage and once my own car had been rifled through because someone was able to unlock it but that was during my first year here (2016.) I never feel unsafe walking around and my neighbors and I are all friendly with each other. The parking garage and parking lot does tend to flood. During the Memorial Day flood, Harvey, July 4th flood and most recently Imelda, the garage flooded completely and several cars were destroyed. DO NOT park in the garage during a heady rain event!!! They really should put up signs because this is a known issue.STAFF: The office staff has changed several times and I try not to go in there unless I have something major or an emergency so I cant really name anyone but other than one or two frustrating instances of someone dropping the ball on an important maintenance request, I havent had any major issues. The gentlemen on the maintenance staff work very hard and typically get things done quickly. I always make sure to enter my maintenance request through the portal and then follow up with a call to the office to make sure its been put in. They are good about answering the phones and are generally polite and helpful. One thing that they really should do: have the maintenance staff leave a receipt when they have completed a work order. It is nice to have something to show you who came into your home and when.TLDR; For the price and location, they are good apartments. You get what you pay for. People complaining about having to put in a 60 day notice have clearly never rented before as this is standard practice. I have loved the location for these last 3 years but I need more space and a washer dryer for the same price and must move on.
Moved in Yorktown Apt 7month ago and so far it been pleasant living here. The look of it make you feel like you are in a resort 😊 with 2 pools, 2 tennis courts, volley ball..Very quiet, pet friendly.Had a couple of issues in my apt, I went and talk directly with the new manager Jassi who was able to send the technicians and they took care of it.
This is the worst apartment ever, these new posts they have put up is fake. Do not move here you will never get anything from maintenance done. Infested with mold, rodents and crime. Stay away...too much money for something so run down in the galleria area you could go a few blocks and do much better, they raise water bills, fumigation etc... at their leisure. Patricia is the worst assistant manager you can have. Wait till you stay there for a few months....
I have lived in this complex for 3 years, it was my first home in Houston and I had no issues. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Best part about the apartment is its location and convenience to all departmental stores. The bus stop and Westheimer Road is in a walking distance. Ideal for families and single individuals. I made lot of friends here. Got 2 nice pools , good courtyard , tennis court, nice sidewalks where you can walk in the evening. Apartments are also big and nice . You won’t get apartments in this area in such a rate. The new management is also doing as much as they can to make it a better place to live in . Patricia , Gaby and Maria are particularly great help to any issues the residents face . I loved living here and would recommend this to any new person moving to Houston
We moved in about three weeks ago, and have truly enjoyed our experience here in Yorktown Apartment. Great location, reasonable price, and wonderful staff on site. Gabby in the leasing office has been extremely helpful. She is patient, friendly and reachable. All in all, we like it here!
Property Manager is very nice person, helpful and patient. We are loving our new apartment home. She took care off everything quickly. Nice location and good price.
All of the office staff are really nice. Maria has been extremely helpful for the few months Ive been living here. The place is partially under construction for upgrades. If you can deal with that, the prices cant be beat for the area. Looking forward to the two pools and volleyball court in the summer!
One word, Maria!! She’s in the leasing office and frankly should run it. Not because others are bad, but she’s that good. She stayed on top of me to turn in paperwork as I’m crazy busy and she wanted to make sure I got the unit I hoped for. She was thorough, honest, kind, informed, patient, smart and not a pushover.Yes, there are some issues in the complex, but they are working hard to change things day by day. So know what you’re committing to. For me, the pros far outweigh any current cons and most of those will go away soon as they make changes. These are cost effective bare essential type apartments/townhomes that are in a high cost of living area that has great access to freeways, various neighborhoods, grocery stores, shopping, nightlife, churches, schools of all types, offices, banks, etc.g A great fit for those of us that like to stack cash. I’m a C suite exec in an industry where what you drive and where you live matters to people, but I don’t care because in the end I’ll stack cash and be free to retire way sooner!Oh and there’s lots of free parking for guests. Laundry rooms are very close by. Trash can be a challenge, but it’s ok.
Not at all safe here. I have been here for quite sometime.By far the worst experience one can have. Its all downhill from there. Every day there is vandalism in cars and properties. My new camry had itsrims stolen right after 3 days i bought it. Gates are always open. Managment does not take any actions or responsiblity besides overcharging you for rent
Franceli gave great customer service .She was very helpful through rental process. She rented the perfect apartment home. I couldnt been happier with this leasing consultant. Also Gaby was helpful with making sure free television was on the apartment home before i no moved in.
Complex is old and the new management is doing significant improvements since I first moved in. Calm environment with large greenery space.Property manager Jessie is very professional and sincere; she takes care of every single request and ensures closure. Thanks to Patricia, kind person and she give proper and quick response for queries related to charges/fees.Request management to setup kids play area with play amenities and focus more on security related improvements.
There are so many theft incidents happened in past 2months. The management has to focus more and do something on it. Though pest control is not good, frequent garage flooding, delay in service for complaints, tenants got used to it but nobody can compromise when it comes to your family safety. Its management basic responsibility to take the community into confidence and react quickly to the security issues.
Just be away this place screw you over with $150 and wont refund Application deposit in case you are not approved, even tho it says at rental application. This place is violating their own contract. In addition after I contacted Head Office I was received a call from Satishma with a huge amount of attitude. What a nice place. An update 10/31. I did not receive a refund from this place and corporate office ignores my emails.
The Management team of Yorktown apartment Houston are professionally and caring. They respond to you very quickly when you put in your repairs. I will also like to say a very BIG thanks to Patricia, who has been very helpful to me for 3 years in this apartment. I have had no problems. I will at anytime recommend this apartment.
If I could give no stars I would! I moved here Jan 2018! Im so sorry I signed a lease here. They said it was remodeled. Which if it was I have no clue how bad it was before because its still very bad. Staff is rude, and have attitudes! This place is infested with cockroaches regardless of the fact they spray every 2 weeks, the problem gets worse daily! The building is filthy, and roofs everywhere are constantly leaking! And not just a few drips the stair ways are flooded and hallways are flooded and water from ceiling smells and is unsanitary. I want to cry because I signed a year lease. The trash shoots are consistently overflown and trash thrown everywhere even on floors out side of trash room! This place is disgusting Do Not Rent Here!!!! HORRIBLE!!!HORRIBLE!!!HORRIBLE!!!!
Yorktown Apartments has changed since the last Management!!! It is way more safer and cleaner than before. It is very eco friendly and allows residents to do parties! The management also interacts with the residents by planing festive celebrations!!!
August 19 2021 at approximately 2 AM in the morning I was woken up to somebody rattling my home doorknob as if they were trying to break in. I then screamed at them and ran outside, and they jumped over the patio fence and ran away cowardly. This is the second time that somebody attempts to break into my apartment. My bike and tool box were also previously stolen from the patio. I Just moved in and I think that this apartment complex is not a safe environment to live in. I no longer feel at home and am very very disappointed with the service, maintenance and security that this apartment complex offers. I want to know if I have to contact the police to conduct a investigation because I am very desperate to find a solution to these major problems. This apartment complex advertised its security but when a problem arises no solutions are looked for by the front office. I have seen people break into the pool at night without authorization.
I am excited to join Adara and the family of Yorktown as their new community manager....the residents have been so welcoming. This property has such a unique beauty with its large oak trees and European styled towers. Changes or on the up and rising. I welcome all concerns and look forward to the months to come.
I have lived at Yorktown apartment for over a year and a half. And I love it honestly gabby is very helpful and friendly in the front office. She is always willing to answer any questions I have and help me the best she can. Also Jessie the property manager has been a great help as well helping me get touch up paint for my apartment! Thanks!
I, personally, had a good experience at Yorktown Apartments. I lived there for about 3 1/2 years and never had any major issues. Yeah, sometimes maintenance took long to get to my apartment for a problem, but a lot of the times they got there the same day I put a request in. It was agreat experience for my very first apartment. I did recieve my deposit back and my move out went swell. Anyways, thought I would give them a good review. I no longer live there, but I would go back. 😁👍
This has been my home for the last year, it has been great no issues at all. Brany has been very helpful at the office.
I live in this UN-GATED community, with lots of Roaches as pets. Half of the year the Gates wont work. Rest half of the year continuous maintenance(?) going on.... If you are a animal lover, you will include the Roaches in your pet list in very short of time. 3/4 th of the Houston knows the Gate code and it never changes for ages even after lot of burglaries and car tire thefts happen.... The Gates always welcomes the Home less guys, thieves and by-passers.Office Staff - Really very silent, they never respond to your Phone calls, complaints, Requests, emails.. and never disturb you at least 1 month time after your request. Because they are always busy with completing their Last Year Tickets. The Staff not even care what we are saying, only cares for a new lease sign. No preventive actions to stop thefts. We have 2 regular dirty swimming pools(when was it last cleaned, guess? last summer and Dogs are allowed to swim with humans?), and two seasonal pools on Rainy days in Parking garages for our Cars. Dont forget to keep your car out of parking garage anytime to save from tire jacking and from flooding.God bless me and my neighbors to protect from buglers.
The ladies in the office Franceli, Gabby, and Andrea are amazing. These ladies went above in beyond to meet all my needs to move in at the last minute. I leased with Franceli on the the second of June and there was some miscommunication between the leasing office and the office that approves the applications. Franceli came in on her off day to make sure I was all set to move in because all of my things was in an uhaul and I was staying in a hotel. I spent 4 hours in the office but the experience was great I even upgraded apartments and got a better deal. It was All hands on deck including the maintenance team. Thank you all for relieving some stress off my back and making this moving experience a Breeze. You ladies are amazing and I appreciate the hard work and dedication you all gave to make this new move stress free. - God Bless
This complex is not safe at all. The guy from unit 548 started shooting at other units with his rifle. One of the lady who was sitting inside her apartment was shot. The bullets went through several other units but luckily no one was hit. They need to start doing some strict back ground checks and stop letting just about anyone rent the units.
As soon as I started a leasing application I was contacted 3 or 4 times by phone call and twice through text so that they could obtain an application fee. The woman on the phone said once she received that she would send me information on the rest of the documents she needed. Once I submitted my application fee I heard nothing back. I did not receive any communication or follow up on what else they needed no call or text just a denied application a week later. Find someplace else to lease an apartment.
The best complex I’ve stayed at since being in Houston! No problems at all! No pests no bugs nothing. I absolutely love the staff they are super friendly, work great with you and always helpful!
This complex has made significant improvements since I first moved in. Under the New Management maintenance issues are completed on a timely manner. The leasing office staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept and well lit at night. The neighborhood is awesome and walking distance to CVS, Walgreens and Galleria Mall. I do recommend Yorktown Apts.
After so many years I still can’t believe what a great jewel Yorktown apartments is in the heart of Galleria. I wish we had three year lease terms Ha ha ha. And management is very hands-on and very quick to respond to whatever issues we may have.
Serious, very serious scam alert!!!! Please do not ignore my warning!!! This company is run by scammers who have no conscience whatsoever! They will try to rip you off your last penny, they will steal your property and your peace of mind in exchange of horrible dirty outdated unclean BUGS and ROACHES infested apartments, they will allure you with affordable prices and be nice to you but once you are in, you are trapped!!
I am staying in this property for last 6 months. In these 6 months, we lost peace and happiness staying in this property. Our family is scared stepping out of home because of frequent bulgary and theft. There is lot of security concerns. Anyone can get in the property and can harm someone. It happened around 9-10 bulgaries in last 2 months. Management is least concerned about the safety of the residents. It is really scary. We cant even break the lease because of strong terms and conditions. Think twice before moving into this apartment. I am still a resident and praying everyday that I can see my family safe when I reach home back from office.
When I moved out this month, I said Good Riddance! to Yorktown Apartments. I originally chose this apartment complex for its low rent and great location - but the quality was NOT worth it. The other Reviews listed are extremely accurate, and I wish I would have listened to them before I signed my 13-month lease.PROSLow Rent-Cheapest youll find in the areaGreat Location-Walking distance to Walgreens, CVS, Galleria, restaurants, auto places, running club, city park, etcFriendly Maintenance-They do the best they can with this old, worn down property. When you have an issue, they come out quickly to fix it (although it is typically a quick fix and breaks again a week later)Courtyard and Pools-When they are not flooded, the courtyard and grounds are nice to walk through-The pools are awesome (but they have closed them often this past year to renovate, which I get, but renovate them during winter, not the middle of summer)-Volleyball and tennis courts are a great bonusCONSNot Dog Friendly-This place says they are dog friendly but almost every single resident in this community (except the dog owners) hate dogs and will scream at you and at your dog if you come within 100 feet of them.Infestation of Roaches-No matter how clean you keep your apartment or how often you have it treated, there are roaches. There is no doubt in my mind that there is an infestation.-Upside: At least Im not afraid of them anymore. When it rains, it floods. Everywhere.-You cant get to your car, the leasing office or even walk you dog because the entire place is underwaterWater Temperature and Pressure-Your shower will go from freezing cold to burning hot in a matter of seconds-The pressure is extremely weak-And typically they let you know when they are going to shut it off. However, there was this one instance where they didnt and it was off from 6:00pm to 12:00am (prime showering time). I had to drive across town to go shower at a friends because my water was off when I got home from running and there was no note from the office about when it was expected to return. When I complained to the office to next morning, they said they only had time to post notices on public boards. But its the 21st century... We all have email and texting. I dont understand why they do not utilize that.Packages-I have had a couple packages disappear from my doorstep, so I started mailing everything to my work address. The Staff-Finally, I would like to comment on the staff. When I signed my lease, they were incredibly helpful during the process and move-in. I cant say I had many problems with them throughout my stay.-But moving out left a REALLY sour taste in my mouth: I called the office to schedule a Move Out Inspection. I told them I was ready to turn in my keys but my actual move-out day was not scheduled until that Saturday. They told me I could not come in on Saturday because there would not be an Assistant Manager there to do the inspection. So I scheduled it for that Friday at noon. However, when I showed up for it, they said they had no record of it and I would need to come in the next day. I explained what the staff person on the phone said. And they told me the Assistant Manager would be in and to come back tomorrow. I said No, I schedule it for today. It doesnt make sense for me to come to this side of town again. I want to turn in my keys now. So despite the Assistant Manager being there sitting in her office, she did not do my inspection. I just walked through my apartment with a leasing agent and handed in my keys. Which was incredibly frustrating, but they can charge me for whatever they want - I am just SO happy to be out of there.
Sigh. Yorktown... I really wanted to like you. I really wanted to give you a really good review, but in good conscience I cant. I thought all of these people were exaggerating.... coming from NYC its expected to have roaches and superintendent issues but you guys have such potential yet keep falling short. I would have opted to give you a 2.5 but since I dont have that option then I will give you a two. Here are my biggest complaints:As everyone has stated, there are a lot of roaches. I am constantly finding baby roaches running around on my kitchen floor when I turn on the lights for water. Not to mention their big brothers and sisters just chilling on the countertops. I rinse every item that I have in my cupboards before using because of this. When we had the floods in May (around Memorial day I believe) the elevator to my building was damaged. We are now in September and that elevator has not been fixed. Every week is a different reason. Meanwhile they expect me to collect my large packages for my apartment from the office in a timely manner. I live on the third floor, so every time I purchase groceries/cases of water, I have to figure out whether I can carry all of my bags or make trips. Right now, I have my cases of water in the car since I couldnt take it with me on my first trip up. I really feel it for the elderly people who live here, who constantly have to hobble up two and three flights of stairs to get to their apartments. Back to the floods - the garage was underwater, the grounds, most of the parking area and the ground floor (I had to wade through water that went rose to my thighs to get to the stairs). Now, as a result, these apartment areas look rundown and horrible (please note that this is 4 months later) - it almost feels as though I am living in a project. When I first moved in, I thought I was going crazy because for whatever reason my ac wouldnt go cooler than 80 degrees. I moved here in August (the hottest month) and complained to management. Why not check these things before a new tenant moves in? Since then, I have had to ask them to check the A/C unit about 4 times. When it rains, I get these splotches on my ceilings. I have complained about it, but nothing was done.My bedroom light is moody. When I pull the fan switch the light gets mad and turns off and refuses to turn back on. I have had them fix this about 3 times.Yesterday (Saturday), I arrived home from running a bunch of errands and went to the office to collect my package. As usual they were so happy to see me, they just sat in their chairs and gloomily stared at me. They obviously couldnt contain their excitement. Anyways, after retrieving my package, I climbed the three flights of stairs (still no elevator) to my apartment and proceeded to my bathroom sink to wash my hands. There was no water! I did not recall seeing any posts, or notifications about this, no one told me anything in the management office when I retrieved my package. So I called them, and was advised that yes there is a pipe problem so they had to turn off all of the water. Really?! So yall didnt think that this was important to notify the residents that they wouldnt have water? At 5:45 p.m. I still had no water after they promised that it would be on before they left (they leave at 5:00 p.m.) so I called the office and got the ever so helpful after hours operator, who basically told me that they are fixing the issue. No ETA, nothing. As others have listed, the staff are moody. I try not to take it personally as I am sure it may be hard hearing complaints day in, day out from residents but then again, if there was proper management, there may not be that many complaints. The hours of operation changes all the time. On Sundays, even though they are in the office, they dont answer the phones. The gym is small and annoyingly hot. Sometimes the A/C breaks down and you are treated with a sauna like fitness room, great for burning calories and getting a heat stroke in 100 degree weather. It definitely is an experience.
The staff is polite and professional and they seem to be updating the property. However, in the almost 5 months I lived there I never received any mail. The staff claimed it was the carrier being lazy and the post office said it was because the mailbox was broken. Never got a straight answer from anyone. Many of the residents in my building ended up getting P.O. Boxes to receive their mail. So if you dont mind paying out of pocket to guarantee you receive your mail and dont mind severely outdated but liveable units Id say go for it. Theres a reason they are so much cheaper than the rest of the complexes in the area.
We moved to Yorktown apartments summer of 2019 and it’s so been so hood so far! It’s a walking distance to Galleria and has a nice environment for kids and a twenty four hour gym. Jessi is a wonderful manager and every time something needs fixing she’s right on it and gets things done fast and right!
Give a second thought if you are planning to stay here, continuing lease or suggesting friends. I have had the worst experience. There are uncontrollable roaches all over the place, not at all well maintained and forget about hygiene. Trash is not cleared regularly and never cleaned.Inside the apartments there are moulds around AC ducts which are not good for your familys health.Thefts, burglaries, break ins are a everyday matter now and the management is least bothered. The gate codes are not changed frequently and most of the time the gates do not work and remain wide open leaving us vulnerable to thefts and burglaries.Residents are being robbed at gun point and the management are all deaf ears. You have to call them twice, thrice regarding every issue you come up with which is all the more very irritating.Even with the least rain the community is flooded and the cars in the garage get submerged under water.Very bad drainage facility.Recently some of the residents got their cars wheels stolen. There is actually no security and we are under continuous danger...... View Less
At first glance the property is pretty amazing. From the east coast style courtyards to the two pool landscape, honestly the place is gorgeous.........UNTIL.....The absolute very first day of move in and you kill 10 roaches. Or when you shower and the water changes from hot to steaming to freezing within 5 minutes. Hmmm what else.....when you have an issue and take it to management, Melissa will sweet talk you into believing the next revolution will happen in your apt., then three weeks later after youve forgotten about it and something else breaks, you get the same speech. Ive been in my unit since Oct of 2013 and EVERY SINGLE DAY I kill another crawling insect of some sort. Dont let the price and location fool you, this place is terrible.
I have been living in this apartments for the past 3 years . Though there are several issues with roaches, basement flooding , poor management , the worst is the lapse in securityWe have seen back to back robberies of car wheels , people robbed at gun point etc in the past 4 months ...The management does not care about the security of the residents... they are very lethargic .. Though they claim that its a gated community , the gates dont work most of the time... They do not have enough surveillance cameras ...the management has not taken any steps to fix the security issues even after repeated requests from the residents.. they expect residents to take care of the security ...Please think twice if you are planning to move in to this apartment with family. ....
Brother lived there for a few years. Very basic and safe apartment, but it is long overdue for some updating and needs better pest control. If you park in the lower level garage, you car WILL flood when heavy rains come around.
Generally i do not write review but this apartment has made me to write a review. I know there are roaches issue in all across Houston but if you love roaches this is the place for you. Whatever you do , you will find roaches every morning and they will become family to you. I have been staying here for more than a year and there is always something interesting happen here...the latest one is people are stealing wheels. I have stopped parking my car in parking garage because any morning i know, i may need to take Uber to go to office because wheels are stolen. I park my car outside so that i can see my car from window and sometime if i wake up in night...i just check whether wheels are there in my car.People are trying to tell management to improve on security and cleanliness but it seems they do not have any enthusiasm in doing it.
I wish I was able to put less than one star. I’ve lived in these apartments for about a year now and I sincerely regret moving here. The office staff does not have an open line of communication, I’ll call the office in hopes of speaking to a staff members but instead my calls go unanswered or ignored numerous upon numerous times. The apartment itself is in such poor condition that you’d think the office and maintenance would want to be more attentive and actually take care of the problems, however they could honestly care less and DO NOT get in a hurry to make sure my health is not compromised. To list a few of the problems I’ve been experiencing for months… there is a roach infestation in my kitchen to which they’ve sent pest control out for but the spray seemed to only increase the infestation. My air ducts are caked with actual dirt and mold so the A/C does not work properly and with this Texas heat I…AM…MISERABLE! Once again, the staff is not in any kind of hurry to fix any of these issues! I strongly urge anyone who is looking to move here to turn their sites anywhere else
Got say that I have been pleased with the stay here since moving to Texas. Brandi and the rest of the staff has been very helpful our familys needs . She has honored some requests I asked her and I truly appreciate everything she and the staff does .
The living here is nice and quiet. The staff keeps it nice and clean for us residents. Im able to get a hold of maintenance pretty quickly during work hours
Nice place. If you keep your place clean you won’t have roaches. Maintenance is always fast and done. If you want your file taken care of ask for Satishma
I like this place i feel good and happy and the most important is how fast their maintenance team is. Adding on they have a a nice leasing agents , Brandy is the best shes always professional, helpful and nice!
I moved in April, now in May and I’ve been flooded twice. Emergency maintenance doesn’t answer and their solution is to change the carpet. It’s infested with roaches and cockroaches and bleaching and cleaning everyday does nothing. They sprayed twice now since I’ve moved in and more and more come. Wish they told me that I would be getting flooded every time it rains or have bugs crawling in my bedroom.
No complaints about the property. Has a decent gym and 2 pools. One of the new guys was quick to solve some issues with a work order. I would add more lighting though. Overall I’m happy, it’s a quick walk to some of the nightlife.
Friends whosever is planning to shift to Yorktown Apartments,Houston please read this alert post and then take your decision. I am sharing my experience after residing here for a prolonged 2.5 years. Starting off with this apartment is nowhere close to offer you any amenities or hygiene that you pay for. I will state few issues respectively. FLOOD-every year no matter what Mother Nature is over pouring all her rain on Yorktown Apartment resulting in disastrous flood. With 1yr we lost 2 brand new cars for this. Most of d garage and parking area gets submerged resulting in huge loss of cars. Secondly the ROACHES/PESTS-please be very aware of this unhygienic availability of roaches, cockroaches and other insects. They are scattered all throughout and miltiplies in no time. The apartment authority has no regular pest control programs to take care of. Next comes Robbery / Burglary, yes u read it right!! I personally had this traumatizing incident. Apartment, Vehicle, vehicle parts-they steal everything possible. And this is common and very very often. The apartment has no CCTVs, no security guards or any other vigilance system to monitor the safety of the residents. Moreover the management is reluctant to take preventive measures even after repetitive theft incidents. The scenario is still the same. Also, on weekends theres no emergency assistance from the maintenance team. You have to wait no matter worst the problem is. So before you makeup your mind please think on these issues and decide. Yorktown apartment is not the right place to live-in. Worthless, poor management, unhealthy-unhygienic, acutely prone to flood, Robbery every now & then.
Yorktown apartment is worth trying with great price and customer service. The service I received from Jassi and her team was the best.Gabby is great in addressing the issues.Jassi, the property manager what a customer service and friendly and smiley face to reach any time and same way she will treat and greet you.All walk and do follow up on issue,Kudos to her work ethics. Gabby is the best and best of luck team Yorktown.Keep doing good work.Apartments are clean and looks awesome.
STAY AWAY!!!! This is the most disreputable company I have ever experienced. I placed a client at this facility over a 8 months ago and they have broken every promise theyve made. Including having the elevators fixed at move in, my client had to haul her furniture up 3 flights of stairs. In addition they have tried every delay tactic in the book to keep from paying me my commission. 8 months and not a dime. Total crooks at this facility and all other Adara Properties.
I am residing currently in Yorktown Adara Communities. Its an pleasant and open place to live. The people at leasing office are vey nice. They deliver what they promise!!BIBI: She behaves very nicely and she works hard and complete the deal even office hour crossed and help in all the way until lease done.Patricia : She is very punctual with timings, if she promise something she respond on time and show the successful output like waive off ticket, service request etc.Maria : She follow the process and guide you right way for any service issue or request.ThanksAijaz
These are the worst apartments Ive ever lived in. The management is horrible, and the living conditions are even worse. Please save yourself and your family by never setting foot on this property. Im currently living out my year lease and counting down the days until its over. Weve had roach issues since before we moved in, and its only gotten worse. The people come and spray the baseboards but thats it. In the 7 months weve lived here, we have had to report 2 toilet issues, 5 sink issues, a leaky fridge, molding floors, a leak in the roof that was causing the ceiling to cave in, and about 10 other various issues. Weve always had to report the issues at least twice before someone will come and fix it. My roommate threatened to call the City of Houston, and in 20 minutes the repairmen were here. Before I leave this dump I am reporting it to the City to hopefully prevent any other unfortunate souls from suffering like I have. Dont ever live here or trust these people with your money!
Ive renting here for over 6 months, there are things that could be better but the overall experience has been very good. Maria and Patricia are always available to address my concerns and provide assistance.Ill be signing a new 1 yr agreement shortly.
I would give it a higher rating, I never had huge roach problems but when I moved out they hit my credit with $300 about some hidden expenses or some crap I was never notified about. Great job guys, you fit the dirty down apartment stereo type that all apartments will try to screw you.
Moved in a little over a month ago due to the fact there was new management under Adara. Caesar and Gabby in the front office were really friendly and helpful with answering any questions I had. They mentioned the place would be undergoing a facelift. And to date theyve replaced the roof and are working on replacing the dated exterior on my apartment building. The new clubhouse is scheduled to open soon. The tennis courts and volleyball pit are in great shape. Not sure about the 2 older resort pools as not swimming season. So in summary the place is a little dated as built in 1969 but going thru a renovation thanks to Adara. Add in the fact it is in the heart of the Galleria so definitely worth a visit seeing as which other complex provides a gym, clubhouse, 2 resort pools, sand volleyball pit and a clubhouse?
Jassi, property manager is very friendly and took care of my long going on issue. I m happy living here for 10 years and renewed for another 16 months lease. Thanks, for taking care of me
I would like to mention Mona/Monali for being a great community manager and does her level best to help the residents. Rest of the office not so much so try to avoid them. Rent is pretty good and apartments are very spacious compared other communities in the locality
Thanks Jessie for coming back and its again wonderful experience while renew my lease for this year. she took time and listen and take work orders and responded very nicely. i would like to thank all the staff members too for great work.
The office staff worked with me when I had to make some sudden changes as to what apartment I needed. Miss Brandy was very responsive. I really appreciated Leo and Pedros help.
I would like all the future residents of Yorktown to know that you should be careful in considering this apartment complex as your new home. The property needs an enormous amount of work/ rebuilding and upkeep. The property is old and needs to be maintained better, but overall they try their best to take care of their residents...its just not enough accommodations and care of the property for the price your paying. Location is a plus, living conditions, Id give a C-
!!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This is one of the worst places I have ever attempted to do business with, ever. Things seemed fine at first, and they acted friendly and helpful as I filled out the application and paid the deposits. Then, after I leave they call me back and inform me that I cannot be accepted because I was a convicted felon. I told them this was not true and that I had court documents to prove it, and they said if I brought them it would be okay. So I bring the paperwork for them, and they fax it off to the background check company and told me it would take about 3 days to approve me. 5 days later, I get a call from them and they ask if I could provide them with rental history. I had already put down my previous history with contact information and they said it was insufficient and without it I could not be accepted. All of the employees that work at the front desk are rude and apparently deaf, dumb, and blind. They will do anything to get you to leave them alone, including making rude comments and talking to you condescendingly. Overall it was a terrible experience, and all of these one star reviews are totally justified. Please listen to them and dont get stuck in a situation like I did. I now have to go to court with them over the application fee. Also, the parking garage floods.
I recently moved in and this has been the best experience Ive ever had. The staff has been so helpful for all the questions I had as a first time renter. Satishma had been so sweet and any questions she didn’t know the answer to she found out for me. I look forward to the rest of my stay here. Thank you Satishma for all your help !
I have been here for 6 month and glad to say my experiance has not been bad at all. Anytime I have place a maintenance order the office people and maintenance guy Pedro has been very nice. I will be renewing my lease this month ! :)
I am back again to share more disappointing news about Yorktown Apartments in Houston, TX in the Galleria. Our electricity has been out for over 15 minutes. Residents have tried to call the leasing office in efforts to reach the answering service or the emergency line. The phone just rings. No answering service and no emergency line!! I called Center Point and I was shocked to hear what they said to me. Center Point was at the property earlier today, they checked all of their equipment and it all checked out. However, they did find issues with the properties electrical equipment. The leasing office refuses to have an electrician come out and fix the problem!!!! Center Point has been advised not to send out assistance as this is an issue with Yorktown Apartments old electrical equipment. Meanwhile, we the paying residents get to have dinner in the darkness and sleep with no AC. THANK YOU YORKTOWN APARTMENT, ADARA COMMUNITY FOR YOUR AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! #yorktownapartments #adaracommunities #houstonOMG, it is nice to know I am not alone in this misery of Yorktown Apartments in Houston, TX. I fell in love with the courtyards!. However, the current living situation is out of control! Rodents and roaches are a problem! The employees at the leasing office take weeks to send an exterminator. Serious lack of customer service skills. They do not care about the residence here. If the employees are so unhappy, then why work here? They are understaffed, especially maintenance people. The poor maintenance guys work 12-hour-day shifts all week. They are overworked and understaffed in this Houston heat. They work over 12-day hour shifts. This property is huge. Not nearly enough maintenance people to maintain all these old apartments.I spoke with an elderly lady a couple of months ago, before our elevator was back in service. She was waiting for her cab. While she waited, she told me shes been a resident of Yorktown Apartments for forty years. Unfortunately, she is now thinking of moving due to the pain being caused by walking up and down the stairs since the elevator died. The elevator died after the Memorial day floods. She has always had the elevator, and her legs were in no condition to be walking up and down stairs for so many weeks. Her physician is recommending she move. I felt horrible for her.It is sad to see this place die and all its history. #KeepYorktownAlive #customerservice #renters #adaracommunities #yorktownapartments
Terribly unprofessional. was quoted one price told not to apply but then they sold the unit. On top of that the leasing agent misinformed us about the credit usage. We was sold and stopped looking only to be told two weeks later no. . . So thanks for misinforming us and wasting our time!
I wait 10 days to get into my apartment, when I finally got in my apartment, it was dirty and unclean, the AC didnt work. When I canceled my application, Ive been waiting for 2 weeks for a refund and still havent gotten it. Ive been calling to reach someone in the office, but no one has answered still! Would not recommend staying here at all!
Came in looking to rent because of the good reviews, the leasing associate was incredibly rude from the moment she catch a glimpse of me and my roommate, she looked bored and annoyed, showed us the apartment in a very rude way. Would definitely not come back ever.
Living since 2009 and have no issues. New management is very good, prompt in resolving issues, The community is nice, the neighbors are friendly, and it is surprisingly clean and renovated. Maintenance responds quickly, the office staff is nice.
Jessi is great manager.very polite and helpful.take care of work orders or any issue you report promptly. She makes it great living at Yorktown apts.we love our comm6.
Apt was cool! Ms. Lupita Rosas helped me very much throughout my process. Would definitely recommend if you’re in need of a new home.
Oh so many things wrong here...Yes, the location is great, but at what cost..? Within 1 week of moving in I was trapped in a faulty elevator and the same day had to call the police due to some security issues and a loitering man. I reported the incident to the then manager Melissa who I suppose threw my report in the trash. Needless to say, i saw the man again a few weeks later, in our stairwell. You know WHY I kept seeing him?? B/c my neighbor told me a few weeks after the incident that a homeless man LIVES in our stairwell?!? are YOU serious?!? i reported the incident again, to the manager Murthy you know, b/c Melissa oddly doesnt work there anymore. He KNEW ABOUT THE HOMELESS GUY AND EVEN SAID HE HAS BEEN TO JAIL! I am a female living alone in this place, and this is OK?! NOOOOOOO I have reported a broken pedestrian gate for 2 months now. Guess what...it is still broken! I have now read the Texas tenant rights and know that they are in direct violation since they KNOW about the loiter in our stairwell. They claim the place is safe and have HPD officers living here...blah blah. beyond the lack of any security, I have had to report dangerous power issues, and yes the ceiling in our hall has collasped due to leaking. I get it, its an older place with a serious need for some repair, but I am way more concerned about the SAFETY. The tenants seem pretty nice, but not feeling safe in a place you pay for is an awful feeling :(
Welcome to the cockroach world. this apartments are full of roaches.when we complaint miss melisa the manager says that dont bring food in to the apartment no groceries no nothing in the kitchen for 2 months. just dont eat. just dont leave anything in the sink a tiny piece of food will attract the roaches and ur the responsible for roaches we are not.such a dirty old apartments. i dont know the govt rules in USA they should demolish the apartments otherwise they are going to fall for themselves. already some of the corridars are on the way they are already falling.please dont see cheap rent they offer.for 1 or 2 hundred more ur going to get a cockroach free world.also good management people.
Brandy and Satishma help me so much and explaining me everything with patience and kindness. Thanks a lot
Bad and Careless Management...if you put workorder they close it without even working on it, For pest control, you have to call them 4 weeks consistently to put request, They dont notify of their plumbing work in advance so your sink/kamod filled with all dirty stuffs and your apartment smells like hell..they dont care..they only know to get money on 1st of every month, but they dont want to use it for residents good purpose. Landscrapper people are not cleaner, they are creating mess on property and leave that for whole week/weekends. Some renovations start at some point and never finish, it left in between. I do have proof of my emails for all above reasons which I am telling here. This is a short story/summary of yorktown apartments.
Just watch out for this place. Do not lease this apartment if you are looking for a safe and secure place for yourself and your family. This place saw several back to back burglaries, gun point theft, car jacking in last couple of months with a definite reoccurring pattern.Couple of my neighbors and friends woke up in morning to find their car tires are stolen and they have to find ride to office. Despite the fact that this is a gated community, gates are broken half of the time; facilitating burglars to drive in, take tires and drive out conveniently. I strongly doubt if there are working security cameras on premise (even at entry and exit gates)On top of this Management turned a deaf ear to all these issue, no tangible action is visible from management on this so far. Response we get from management on various security complain varies from-- resident are responsible for their own security-- residents should form group and take periodic rounds around their property-- you have insurance; claim it (fortunately no life is lost in past incidents)-- burglaries and theft are on rise in Houston area-- we can not provide personal security guard to residents
I m living in Yorktown apts for 17 long years and I love this place. The staff is great and did service. The property manager know me by name and always greets me and listens issue to plan as per our time and convenience. My manager is back and very helpful. Please, don ,t remove Jassi from her.Great help and customer service.
Pathetic apartment, literally no security, burglary and car theft happening every now and then. No security cames anywhere on the property, water clogs within 30 min of rain. I lost two of my cars due to water stagnation, full of roaches, poor leasing office management
I lived in Yorktown for 2.5 years. I liked the atmosphere enjoyed my stay before I returned to my home country. Ms.Jessi and Patricia were very helpful in ensuring smooth move out. I plan to return back to this community when I move back to Houston.
We moved couple of months back in the Yorktown apartments. Jassi ,leased us and later on Gabby helped us with everything. What a tremendous service by Jassi, anything we reached her for she made sure walk with us and find out solution for the concerns asap and resolve them.Very impressive personality. She is the manager.Gabby and Jassi helps and listen to the residents .Jassi ,comes out to greet and attend you.Great customer service by the staff and neat and clean property.Loved living here.
Although I didn’t choose to rent here, I will say, the leasing agent, Luz, was great about scheduling a last minute tour and her customer service was absolutely excellent! I did not choose to rent here due to location, but I found that Luz was exceptional and accommodating.
Beware of this place when you move out. They will hit you with extra fees without justification. Buildings are old, garage get flooded, and vandalism is common. There are insects problems and alot of strait cats. Avoid this place.
I am glad to reside in Yorktown apartment, The Manager Mrs Jasbir Kaur is very supportive, she positively and patiently listen to each and very concern and she sorted out all major , minor issues of apartment in short span of time.Yorktown apartment is very beautiful , natural place to live in , its like open garden with a lot of greenery and flowers e.t.c . I will definitely recommend my friends to this place.Mrs Jasbir Kaur is always engaged with some work, very dedicated and hard working.I appreciate her dedication, commitment and productivity towards Adara communities.Thank you Jasbir.
Id live there for 16 months two apartments paid on time every month. Went back to lease another apartment, they show me a few vacant ones. So I pick one leff $150 for check credit and 100 deposit. Got there to sign rent went up they lied and so I ask to see apartment and the water was coming like a faucet in kitchen and this was a second floor apartment... I could not believe it after I live there 16 months so I got my $ 150 money order and left and what do they do put $150 debt on my credit. Wow I cant believe it.
