I lived at Tate at Tanglewood for two years, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. There were a number of ongoing issues that management failed to address properly.First off, dog poop and pee in the hallways was a recurring problem. I even saw a resident let his dog poop right in front of the lobby elevator without cleaning it up. The hallways often had a nasty smell as a result. Also, since the hallways are carpeted, the valet trash pickup service often left traces of nasty fluid that dripped from the bins, which would just stay soaked into the carpet. To make matters worse, there was always a rotten smell coming from the trash bins at the H-E-B next door. The odor would drift over and just add to the unpleasant atmosphere, especially in the parking area. The elevators were constantly malfunctioning, especially the one in the garage. It was out of service for over half a year! Despite endless emails from management saying they had contacted the vendor and repairs were “coming soon,” it never got fixed while I lived there. Good luck if youre on the 5th floor, which they call “exclusive” access. Exclusive? No, it’s a nightmare when the only elevator stops working, and you’re left hauling groceries or boxes up and down stairs because there’s no access from the garage. And speaking of the 5th floor, the water pressure was terrible. It made daily tasks frustrating, and management did nothing to fix it despite complaints. Youll regret choosing the 5th floor if youre thinking about it.The gym was another problem. Equipment was often broken, dumbbells were stolen, and the A/C didn’t work, making it unbearably hot. The restrooms on the first floor also had a terrible smell. Fire alarms would go off randomly in the middle of the night for couple nights straight.Another bit issue was the Luxer Delivery System. It’s advertised as a secure way to receive packages, but in reality, it’s just a small room that’s supposed to be locked. However, residents often leave the door open, and delivery drivers just drop all the packages inside together. Anyone in the community has access to this room, and the door frequently doesn’t work properly - either is broken or the ventilation system keeps it open. I had a package go missing because of this poor setup.Additionally, make sure to check your apartment very well before moving in. When I moved in, I found a bunch of junk, including a syringe under my washer. They do not properly clean the units before leasing them out, which was really concerning. Now, for the worst part: insurance policy charges. I kept getting charged $15 every month because management failed to upload my insurance policy to their system. Even though I had submitted it as requested via email, they kept claiming the issue was resolved, but the charge kept showing up. I personally went to the office multiple times and was told the problem was taken care of – but it wasn’t. After over a year of being charged incorrectly, I had to involve the Houston Apartment Association. Magically, once they stepped in, management admitted they were wrong and promised a refund. But even then, I had to follow up again for over a month before they processed it.If youre considering moving in, check your charges. I know I wasn’t the only one with this issue, and who knows how many others are unaware they’re being wrongly charged. It’s frustrating to have to fight for basic competence from the management team.Think twice before moving into Tate at Tanglewood. Read reviews by previous or current residents so you get an idea of what it is like to live there. 5* reviews for touring it’s not what you want to look at. The issues are real, and the management simply doesn’t seem to care until outside pressure is applied.
Thank you so much to the leasing agent Ashley and property manager Ryan. They made the move in process for my grandma (Venice) so effortless. I would be recommending them to everyone I know looking to move. The apartment was very clean, and everything that needed fixing (very minor) they took initiative very fast and had it resolved within the same day. Also, the maintenance man is wonderful and so very nice.It does appear that the garage elevator maybe out of service, however I have not noticed any issues of it the property being super dirty/or any bugs or rodent problems. The community is beautiful, with the best amenities. Thank you again to everyone who played a part in the move in process.
I love the atmosphere here at Tate Tanglewood. The Team here is AWESOME! they do their best, all their efforts are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU! For my apartment everything was as expected and I am satisfied with the quality of exquisite cleanliness and attentive detail put in to my apartment. I really like my apartment. Im looking forward to a great year here a Tate Tanglewood thank you all tremendously. I value yalls demeanor on arrival I was treated with welcoming hospitality by the office personnel and Maintenance Team. The amenities are super cool I truly enjoy it here.
Awesome staff, Demond has great customer service no matter what the issue is. The community is nice and quiet at night, the security onsite at night is good to see when coming home late. Liking the new changes in the last few months.
Don’t move here it’s not worth it ! The good reviews are definitely asked to be written by management bc it’s literally awful. This place is nasty. To start, Tate loves to blame issues on the residents but never takes matters into their own hands. There’s dog shit and piss everywhere and all we get is an email to “take after your pets” while the stairs and hallways reek and no one listens to them. I’ve lived here for a year and they have cleaned the carpets a total of once. Next, the fire alarms are literally the biggest pain in the ass. It’s not a cute little 5 minutes, it lasts for 30+ always throughout the day and night. Oh and management always emails saying “a resident set it off we apologize” or some bullshit but takes forever to get it turned off?? Are yall okay?? Another thing, the elevator has literally not worked in a year. When we MOVED IN they said they were working on it getting fixed. Moving out now and guess what! We are still waiting for the parts apparently. The door/gate system always goes out and I have to walk around the garage just to get into my apartment. I’ve seen multiple cars on bricks because the gate is always left open. There’s mice by the trash chutes and holes in the wall where they live. The stairmaster in the gym never works. Management gets you to sign a lease being all nice and asks you to write a review then you move in and realize this place is nasty! They pull you in with the ambiance of the lobby and first floor but don’t get it twisted. Everything is always broken and smells like piss and managements sucks.
This is the WORST place to live. If you’re looking for a place, please I’m begging you to not settle for this complex. There’s cars on bricks in the garage constantly, it smells so bad in the hallways, the elevators never work, the fire alarm will go off at random for 20-60 minutes at a time, and it is genuinely so difficult to get in touch with their new management team. It’s very unprofessional and they never seem to have answers for anything literally ever. They don’t reply to emails and if you walk all the way down there to speak with them they still are absolutely no help. My next door neighbors door is also barely holding on because 2 people beat her door in. Overall a waste of hard earned money to live here, it’s scary, the management is terrible, the building is not clean, nor does anything ever work here.
The apartment complex and amenities are very nice. I would say their maintenance and cleaning staff could be better and more on top of things. The stair wells reek of pet urine. We were told they were going to be power washed and they never were. My biggest issue and concern is the General Manger, Daemon. He is disrespectful , inconsiderate, rude, and most passive leasing agent me and my family have ever dealt with. He speaks poorly to his staff in front of residents and shows no empathy to the residents here at Tate. Instead of helping and creating solutions he seems to make things worse and leave us residents more irritated. I think they definitely should find new management or promote one of the sweet ladies who do most of the work! While he sits backs and dictates the property.I also think the coffee machine should be moved to the club house. The leasing office is always closing through out the day and I feel our residents would like to have access 24/7 or at least later hours. I hope this review can help the community become a better place it truly has so much potential.
Honestly not a good living experience my breaker would malfunction constantly. Maintenance team was good. Management team used to be great when I first moved in but people left so often and they’d have a new team every 3 months. Each one being worse than the others. Even getting them to answer a phone call is such a hassle. Wouldn’t recommend living here unless they’re giving you a crazy good deal. Leasing agents are also fairly rude and would really do the most at times. One time they billed me extra as a fine because i left two garbage bags out instead of just one. That’s ridiculous especially since I had a gathering the night before and on Sunday they don’t pick up trash so therefore I had two trash bags.
I wish I could give this property negative stars because even one star feels too generous. If you’re reading this, please take the other negative reviews seriously—they’re here for a reason. The management at Tanglewood is by far the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Despite deciding not to move in seven months ago, the nightmare hasn’t ended. From the moment we started interacting with this property, we were met with a complete lack of professionalism. The leasing agents give conflicting information, and when you try to clarify things with the manager Maria, good luck—she’s impossible to reach. It took DAYS to even be acknowledged with a response back to an urgent issue (that is THEIR fault because they lack transparency and honesty) and when she finally responded, the lack of accountability following the issue she said she would “fix” was shocking. The communication here is non-existent, and the unprofessionalism is mind-blowing. While one agent, Demond, tells you something, the manager Maria acts differently, leaving you stuck in a cycle of frustration. Their inability to manage even the MOST BASIC of tasks, like returning calls or providing clear information, is completely unacceptable. This property represents everything that can go wrong with poor management. If you’re considering renting here, save yourself the stress and choose somewhere else. I regret ever dealing with them in any capacity.
Please be advised that every negative rating is absolutely true. The place is filthy. The only clean floor is the first because it has model units. Management rarely shampoos or cleans the carpet, which is necessa ry because residents let their dogs defecate and urinate on the carpet often. (My friend tried to use his own carpet shampoo machine for the hall near my apartment and it jammed it full of pet hair!)One of the garage elevators has been out for a year and a half.
I had the pleasure of working with Dyamond Davis during my apartment search, and I couldnt be more impressed with her professionalism, knowledge, and dedication. From the very first interaction, she was incredibly responsive, attentive to my needs, and went above and beyond to make the leasing process smooth and stress-free.Dyamond took the time to understand what I was looking for and found the perfect unit that matched all my preferences. She patiently answered all my questions (I had a lot), provided clear and detailed information, and ensured that every step of the process was seamless. Her friendly and approachable demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. What truly sets Dyamond apart is her commitment to excellent customer service. She was proactive in addressing any concerns, always followed up promptly, and made sure I felt confident in my decision. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about their clients, and she exceeded all my expectations.I’ve now lived at Tate Tanglewood for about 2 months now and I’ve had a couple of issues, however Dyamond was always on top of everything. A lot of the negative reviews honestly pertain to the residents not doing their part to keep the community clean. The leasing staff can not control people, but they can do their best to rectify things. Thanks again for all your help.
Been here almost 2 years now and this is the best maintenance crew so far. Property manager and staff are doing great job.. Most of the issues here are bad tenants but the staff finally got rid of them.. Still have a few tenants not cleanup after there dog but the staff handling it well.. I like the new security man walking the property at night, very consistent and always present.. Keep up the good work..
Scheduled a tour a couple weeks ago and when I arrived the office was bustling! Unfortunately I did have to wait a bit longer than I expected for my appointment, but this was to be expected as it appeared that they were dealing with current renters and it was also the weekend. The tour was exceptional, the woman who helped us was very friendly and patient with our numerous questions and did a great job of showcasing the property.
I had a fantastic experience with Tate Tanglewood while searching for a new apartment. The team was incredibly helpful, and I want to give a special shoutout to Nantzin, who went above and beyond in assisting me. She was thorough, informative, and always eager to help throughout the process. The property itself is beautiful, and the tours were very insightful. Every question I had was answered in detail, and the overall hospitality I received from the staff made me feel very welcome. While my move-in date has shifted, and I’ve decided to hold off on signing a lease for now, I was truly impressed by everything Tate Tanglewood had to offer. I’ll definitely keep them in mind as I finalize my plans in the near future. If you’re looking for a responsive and welcoming team, I highly recommend Tate Tanglewood!
It’s been over a year with the primary garage elevator being down. Whenever we ask what is going on they say “the other elevators work.” Failing to understand how inconvenient it is to have to walk to the opposite side EVERY TIME you are coming and going. 1st floor parking is basically cut in half because that’s where guests park, so paying extra money for a parking space just makes your walk even further. Currently would not recommend until these inconveniences are fixed.
Elevator been broken for months. You have to walk around the building just to get to your apartment. Same excuses always, You will only know once you live here. Not the cleanest. Dogs barking all day long.If you live facing the HEB you will be hearing the 18 wheelers day and night unloading at HEB.I usually leave my AC on so I don’t hear Neighbors music and outside nosies.People drive crazy in the parking garage and trash always everywhere.Took 40 days to get the deposit back.
I had a great experience visiting this apartment complex. Dyamond was the best leasing agent I could’ve asked for, she has an amazing personality and was very informative. If you ever want to visit this apartment or are looking to move in, Dyamond is easy to work with and will have all the information you need. I’d highly recommend living here.
Most honest review. I am convince other reviews that are recent overly positive are fake or are being asked to posted by management.LIKE THIS POST IF YOU ARE A CURRENT RESIDENT AND I AM TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT THE FOLLOWING:ProsGreat locationCons:1. Fire alarms are going off although out the day and night weekly.2. Dead mice in hallways left for days. Can also hear them crawling in the walls3. All of the stair wells inside the building smell like pet urine and feces4. The hallways are fitly carpet is dirty and moldy needs to be pulled up5. Apartments/ Hallways are infested with cockroaches and German roaches6. Park garage stairwell looks abandon and not clean looks like a scene out of a Saw Movie. I wouldnt recommend using7. Walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor take her teams call daily for work. I can hear my neighbors above me every step and every time they shower and use the bathroom. I can hear my other name dog breath and tail hit the wall on the otherside8. People leave there pets on the balcony facing the pool and the barking echos throughout the night9. Mail room is a disaster packages are almost never in the right spot anybody can take your mail if they want. And you can only get your mail during set hours10. Back hallway on the first floor near the back of the building smells like a sewer. It is full of mold. Health department was walking through the building a few months back for a different reason and I over heard them saying that this place should be condemn.11. Parking is also a disaster if you life on the first on 2nd floor you get home after 5 you will be parking on the 5th floor. And guess what the elevator is usually out and there is no safe stairwell. Which means you have to walk down the ramp and reroute through the garage or one of the other floors stairwells12. Power often goes out even when it is not a storm.13. Water pressure is very low in the kitchen and bathroom14. Oh the gnats are ridiculousDONT SAY YOU DONT HAVE RECORD OF ME STAYING HERE BECAUSE I DO.All new applicants please take this review serious so that you are not tricked into a 15 month lease filled with misery after being catfish because they only show you one part of the building that they keep clean. Ask to get a full tour to see for yourself.
I’ve lived here for a quite some time now. I can tell you that this complex is not what used to be.It has a “new management” that has been running property for more than a year. I don’t have complains on that, staff has been helpful and always trying to resolve the problems or concerns. However, the apartment building maintance is another story:1. The garage elevator has been broken for more than 6 months and still no signs of being repaired. If you visit the property, ask to be taken there, you’ll see it by yourself.2. Smell: It has improved, however, you’ll get a rotten smell in the hallways3. Cleanlines. I understand is hard to keep cleanliness when residents are the ones leaving trash and food residues in the hallways. However, there’s no cleaning uniit for it. I’ve seen trash on the floor and stairs left there for more than a week.4. Luxer room (package room). It is very easy to access since door doesn’t close well. I got a package stolen (and filmed on room’s camera) but that’s the best you’ll get if this happen, no insurance, no replacement of goods, nothing. You’ll have to file a police report and leave it to them if they can solve it, that in my case, they could’t.5. Fire Alarm. This has been a recurring problem for the past months. It keeps going on several times a month and the worst part it goes on in the middle of the night. There have been days that it goes on more than 3 times the same day.6. Noise complains. There are times that other residents are being really noisy or you can hear them at the pool area late at night. There’s a line you can call and report it and they will take care of it, but it never happens. I have done it a few times without anyone been sent to resolve it.I’m a patient person and that’s why I’m still living here, but I wouldn’t recommend living here.
Hello everyone, I think, Im probably 1 of the lucky residents here, its been 1 years since we moved in and honestly, I dont, I DONT have any problems or complaints about propertie, maybe is because Im on the 4th floor???Its safe and I never really hear any noise specially at nigh,, I always park on the 6th floor at night and i use the stairs and like i said, I had never have any problems, my kids love the pool, I personally like the gym and the club house, wich you can use it to have a birthday party at not cost, however, if you wanna get it private, then you have to reserve it with 1K DEPOSIT, thats to ensure nobody else will bother you, but I use it for my daughter birthday and we didnt have any issue, pool was out of service for 2 weeks once, but they fix it, and is true that, 1 elevator its been out for a year, but that, personally doesnt bother me, I use the stairs or just could park. On 7th floor close to other elevator,Package room, I never have a stolen package and i assured you my wife order a lot from amazon,Main leasing office provide free coffe station and sodas wich I took advantage every single day😆😆😆,Now, the property management has change, as a week ago use to be under Grey start, now its a new one, cant remember the name,, so i dont know what new changes they could bring besides that the already increase the price for new residents,But like I said at the beginning, I must be a lucky resident and we absolutely love this place, but you cant base experiencing only on 1 good review....Good luck
Unfortunately I’m changing my review from 5 stars to 1. We moved in Jan 2024 and are set to move out in a couple months our overall stay has been good as in our neighbors were nice and not loud. The problem we’re having with the apartment is the safety. This apartment is marketed as a “LUXURY” complex, but is anything but that. I’ve constantly gotten my packages stolen even though we have a secure package room. I even tried having them deliver to my door and someone stole the package from my doorstep within a couple hours of being delivered. Not to mention I had my car broken into and my other car got the tires AND wheels stolen. All that happened and we felt no support from management as it’s not their responsibility for what’s stolen from the garage even though the gate is constantly broken or being serviced. There’s also no cameras in the hallways of the apartments so there’s nothing that can be done if someone breaks into your apartment or steals from your front door. I was told to ask my neighbors if they have a ring camera. Really feels dangerous living here sometimes
This place is disgusting!!!! So dirty. Take a look at photos in the hallway.Do yourself a favor, if you’re seeking luxury, or even a decent living experience DO NOT SIGN HERE!!!You’ve been warned. I’m looking out for anybody that reads reviews before living somewhere. I gaurentee all the positive reviews are from ppl who have not signed a lease and have been incentivized to do so.THIS PICTURE SHOULD SPEAK 1000 words.
Fire alarms have been going off at night like 2 times a week for the past like 4 months. That and the dog poo in the hallways has encouraged a lot of neighbors to NOT renew their lease.
The management team here is phenomenal. Demond and Nanceen have been easy to work with. They stay on top of the community, which is rare to find.A few opportunities, the community has are getting elevators fixed in a timely manner, the keyless locking system throughout the community working properly, and maintenance order being completed in a timely manner.
Dymond was amazing! Very informative and knowledgeable. She definitely took the time to hear about what I desired in an apartment and gave me information based on what would fit best for me!
It appears that majority of the 5 star reviews here are from guests who have only TOURED the property and were likely asked to leave a stellar review.I however have been a resident for 2 years and would not give my experience living here more than 2.5 stars. On the tours they will show you around the clubhouse, the gym, leasing office and the pool area which are the ONLY areas in the entire complex that are maintained and kept clean. Please do not be fooled! My main complaint: the elevators NEVER work. There are 3 elevators on the property and maybe only 1 of them on the opposite side of the building will work at any given time. They go several months without being operable and when they’re “fixed” they are out or service again in a couple of weeks. The elevators closest to my unit have both been out of service for months now so I have to take the stairs to my 4th floor unit every single day!!!! Thank goodness i am able-bodied. But if you are disabled, a senior, have small babies etc. then this apartment is not for you at all! Not to mention, the stairwells are NOT regularly upkept and cleaned. There are bags of trash and litter, and dog urine left in stairwells for months at a time. Also, Anytime you doordash or order grocery delivery, you will have to physically go retrieve your order because of the elevator issue! This is so major and for some reason is an ongoing unresolved matter.Aside from the elevators, the property is just not well maintained at all. Garbage dumpsters will pile up day after day. Small fixes are left unaccounted for and they just continue to add up as time goes on. Courtyards unkept, stairwell door handles broken, lights in the rear stairwell are all out. Gym equipment broken for several months. Etc. you can tell they are not proactive with upkeeping things so your living experience will continue to decline because of this, I wish they cared more about these things that affect the residents everyday life.My last concern is safety. The parking garage is gated but not fully secure. My car was broken into during my stay here. Several cars are victim of theft and several cars are left on bricks with their wheels removed. I understand this is common for the metro houston area, but I do wish Tate implemented any measures to help mitigate this. Also, the system they utilize to open/close gates and entryways for residents is called OpenPath and it sucks so bad! Doesnt consistently work and will cause you much inconvenience. It also isnt always working so I have seen homeless people enter in the outside gates using a metal knife to pry to magnets open with my own eyes!!!! Many of the entry doors are also kept open by residents using items as doorstops which poses a major security issue. I have also witnessed a 4th floor unit being squatted in by a homeless person for weeks before management ever caught on to it. Whenever they are notified of these major security concerns, they never send a notification email out to the residents. They just try to keep it a secret which is so crazy!Lastly, they utilize a “package locker” system, which is essentially just a small room where everyone’s packages are kept accessible. After entering the room with your code, anyone can grab any box if they really wanted to. They have cameras but what does that actually do after theft has already occurred? The good things i have to say are that the leasing staff are very kind and knowledgable. They are wonderful people who are not the reason for my complaints but unfortunately they have to deal with all of these complaints firsthand when it’s ultimately out of their control.Love the walkable connivence. Living next door to HEB is great, across the street from Specs, a post office and a vet is very convenient. Just be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs when you return.I also really like my unit. It is spacious, nice and clean with a large covered balcony. Very happy with the unit itself and luckily I have not had any major maintenance request during my 2 year residency, so thats a positive for sure.
As a resident of This Community I can say this is the best complex Ive live in so far. Mr. Demond it’s an excellent manager, he helped us a lot, Ms.Dyamond and Ms. Nantzin are great too and made everything easier during the move-in process.
I can only assume that the 5 star reviews here are paid for, compensated, and/or complete fabrications.Do not trust anyone here, especially not for $1600 per month. I rarely use the word gaslighting as its overused almost to the point if losing meaning but they will actually attempt to gaslight you as a resident.
Demond has been very helpful sorting out all our moving in needs and has speedily addressed all our issues. Maintenance promptly fixed a leaky sink faucet! The community is quiet and the apartment is very nice and tidy. They really focus on making sure the place is well-kept and comfortable!
Those parking spots are designated exclusively for charging electric vehicles and are NOT available for general parking.
I moved here and didn’t expect to have the colour scheme I was expecting. I wanted to transfer and Demond was great helping me! He made the transfer super smooth and made sure I was comfortable in my new home.
I just moved in and I’m in love with my unit! Looks just like it did in the Virtual Tour very clean and spacious. Nicole was so helpful through out the whole process! Thankful and happy I get to call Tate at Tanglewood my new home😊
Did a tour here with Demond. Very nice property. I was able to talk with residents and they had good things to say about their experience since the change in management. Main complaint was some neighbors not putting their trash back after trash valet comes through. The maintenance staff were also pretty cool and helpful as well. Regarding the elevator situation, the unit I was going to choose was nearest the one elevator not working but there was another one right around the corner near that unit. For the location and swanky amenities, this place has great rates as well, and right behind the HEB. Super convenient and safe location. Hoping to rent here in the near future!
I really enjoy calling Tate Tanglewood my home! Nantzin has consistently been super helpful and friendly with customer service. I highly recommend her!
Being a resident for almost 3 years, please note Im only still here because its not financially feasible for me to move at the current moment. However, if I had the choice I would leave. One of the reasons I chose this apartment was because I wanted a gym. When I first moved in, the gym was clean and functioning, shortly after everything change. The past year there has been at least 2-4 pieces of equipment out of commission. I asked the property manager about it and she said she was going to talk with the client. 4 months went by and equipment is still broken. I went to follow up with someone in the office and they said that its not a priority for the client because they have more important things to worry about. He also made note that Im 1 out of the 600 people who live here who really use the gym so its not that big of an issue. This was a minor issues, yes! But I want you see the level of care they have for their tenants. We dont need another food truck Mondays, we need all of the amenities to work, especially when we are being charged for them. Not to mention, one of their maintenance men left my door unlocked with the master key in the door for over 6 hours. That same maintenance man (Charlie Tech) commented and left a good review.... Dont believe him! They were lack luster in how they handled the situation and the only reason I got some type of response is because I contacted corporate. All in all, dont let the walk through around the property fool you when you visit. They will show you all the bells and whistles that look cute, but I recommend that you find a resident on the property and ask them about their experience firsthand!
Poor community upkeep. Luxury Apartment price . But this community isn’t luxury. Very dirty & smelly. . I’ve been here a month and have yet to see any kind of cleaning service. The carpets are dirty , the hallways smell. Same stains in elevators since I moved in. Lobby & Mailroom always cover in trash. My apartment is nice but who wants to have company when they have to hold their noses & step over trash. $2000 a apartment management needs to hire Spruce for the building , Garage included!
I walked into this place and was greeted with a nice guy name Demond. He was very knowledgeable about the property and answered all of my questions. Ask for Demond if you ever visit this property!
I recently had the misfortune of applying for this apartment, only to regret it deeply. Initially, I was approved, but just a few days later, I received an email stating that my application was pre-approved with conditions. I was shocked and confused, as I had met all the rental requirements. The condition was that my rent-to-income ratio was deemed unsatisfactory, and I would need to pay the first months rent plus a $750 security deposit. This came as a surprise, as I had provided all necessary documents and financial information during the application process. After this revelation, I decided to cancel my application. However, the communication from the apartment complex has been abysmal. The answering service is equally unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and ignored. To add insult to injury, almost two months later, I received a bill for a $200 administrative fee, which was supposed to be due upon move-in – but since I never actually moved in, its unclear why Im being charged.Im now in the process of disputing this charge with the apartment complex, but its been a headache-filled experience. The lack of professionalism and responsiveness has left me feeling taken advantage of.To anyone considering renting from this apartment complex, I would advise extreme caution. The red flags are numerous:* Unexplained conditions on approval* Poor communication* Unclear billing practices* Unresponsive staffTrust your instincts and look elsewhere for a smoother and more respectful experience.
The elevator in front has been down and has no fix in sight, the trash rooms pile up, and dog poop in the halls. Odd smells in the halls. Great gym, pool, and grills. Outdoor areas are solid.
Johnny and the maintenance crew are so nice to work with and even let me set a date that was convenient to me to have my apartment serviced. I really appreciated that. Its really hard to find apartments inside the city that come with a backyard, but I have one here at Tate and my dog loves it. Its been a game changer!Plus, the location is great - its got quiet neighborhood/suburban vibes, but still close to the city. The amenities are great... I love the pool and the lounge with a pool table.I love the community here as well. Ive made a lot of friends since moving here in October 2022. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
This is a direct shout out to Demond B. Ever since we started the lease process over a year ago he has been a steady go-to guy. He has always been super helpful and courteous to my daughter and I. Most recently she was having some AC issues and I called and spoke with him and unlike most places it was taken care of within the hour. My hats off to Demond for his willingness to go above and beyond for his tenants.
Ive lived at Tate for almost 3 years, I absolutely love it here and I would honestly live here longer if it werent for us buying a house. The office staff are really friendly and they make sure that the residents are happy! Demond has been the best manager that we have ever had here, Hes always walking the halls and talking with residents and keeping it nice and clean here! I also love the little touches, like doughnuts and snacks for random holidays. Lets keep this office staff here for a lot longer! Thank you guys for making our community great! ❤️
Since we have switched to a new management, living here at the Tate, has been an amazing experience. The leasing consultant Demond, has been very helpful, responsive, and kind. He is a pleasant person to be around. He goes out of his way to assist us residents, to resolve issues promptly, and to see how we can live in clean and peaceful community. I am glad to have him as part of the team members for Tate at tanglewood.
There is no security for the garage. They dont want to pay for it. There are also no cameras. My car has been broken into 3 times. No i havent done anything to anyone barely know anyone here. I just think its a safety hazard at this point. People can stumble upon these guys in the garage and get hurt. I was told that they are not liable for damages or if anything happens to us in the parking garage owned by them…
Ive lived here for almost 15 months, and I can honestly say that most of the issues were residents. In the last few months, the property manager and leasing agent (Demond) are changing things around.Maintenance has gotten a lot better, but I know that a lot of the issues on the property are a few residents not following the rules..The elevators are a problem, but that is the manager. So far the love the area and I can walk mostly everywhere I need to go.
The Tate at Tanglewood is an amazing place to live, the leasing staff is super helpful and the managers are great! The manager Maria is extremely nice and very helpful, she will work with you and is always trying to better your experience if you voice a concern about the property or your unit. Maria is hands down the best property manager that I have ever met, she actually cares about the residents, and makes your conversations feel personal rather than just business. I believe she is the best manager that the Tate has ever had. They have a really nice pool and a beautiful clubhouse/lounge area. They have multiple grills in all the courtyard areas including by the pool, which makes it great for having cookouts. The Tate is also within walking distance to HEB, so you don’t have to drive all the way to the store if you’re just trying to get a few things. 10/10 would recommend!
Complex looks nice but hallways stink at times and are not regularly cleaned or scented. The biggest problem for me is the fruit fly infestation which is virtually impossible to get rid of. It probably doesn’t help that many neighbors leave trash in the hallways (trash valet is terrible). I’ll be moving when my lease is up.
Dyamond provided a great tour, is very professional, pleasant and personable. I would highly recommend to tour with her!
If you are looking to pay for convenience these apartments are not it, in the year that I lived there the elevators were broken more times than they were working you can imagine the inconvenience if you live on the 4th or 5th floor and the parking garage situation, half the spots are reserved “the pay extra spots” so the garage gets full by 6 pm and you end up having to park on the 5th or 6th floor of the garage, mind you the layout of the apartments is a bit odd so the garage elevators only go in to the building from the fourth floor so you have to take 2 staircases just to get into the building on top of the the journey you take to get to your door with no working elevators so you end up taking about 3-5 staircases just to get to your door. Then there’s the biggest inconvenience of all which is the maintenance, when you put in a work order it take about two weeks minimum for someone to come I’ve had one that took a month for someone to come. Even with several attempts to call an expedite it’s been a/c problems plumbing issues (which are time sensitive issues) and they still take weeks to get to you (no matter how many times you reach out) they mark the work order as “started” but don’t get to it till weeks later and they don’t communicate with you at all when they are gonna come so they just enter your apartment with no notice at all they just randomly pop up. I’ve lived in many apartments across Houston I’ve never had such poor maintenance experiences in my life which is the opposite of convenience. The only thing your paying for is the unit which are nice besides the maintenance issues but overall just the most inconvenient apartments I ever stayed at to have been paying close to $2000 is just a cherry on top and also the walls are very very very thin no exaggeration so if you’re neighbor has a tv mounted you hear it like as if it was in your own living room. The staff is also very very concerning management has changed about three times since I was living there the current ones they are extremely rude, every time I went in there there the two lady’s that are consistently gossiping about the tenants with no regard to whose around. the office is closed a good amount of the time so they barely answer the phone and have to go multiple times to try to catch the office open. Just the worst experience I have ever had with maintenance and a management office ever the only thing “luxury” about these apartments are the common/ amenity areas and the actual units them selves
I really enjoy living here. Never have any problems and Nantzin has always been so helpful when it I need anything.
Overall my experience living here is good.Common issues so far still to be fixed are:-some neighbours have pets that defecates on the carpet and some times is not cleaned on time.-elevator not working-fire alarms go off as a false positive.Update 2024:It looks like the fire alarms going off is a problem that wont be solved any time soon.
Nancyn needs to get her teeth fixed please!! She needs braces!! Very poor communication with costumers!! When they tell you that you can apply with a passport, make sure you ask for the requirements you need afterwards!!
Demond & Oscar were super welcoming, nice and helpful! Although, I did not choose to go with this apartment; I truly appreciated their help! I wanted to stay in the heights since I’m so familiar with the area but the apartments at Tate are so beautiful. It’s an amazing property and in a great location! It was a really tough decision to make but I had to do what was best for me. I will definitely keep Tate in mind in the future!
I came home and needed to use the elevator to get from the garage to my apartment floor, and couldn’t because unfortunately right after the management had the elevator fixed someone broke it again. So I parked on 7, and used the stairs. While I was in the stairwell, someone came in and gave me an eerie feeling. Fortunately, I was able to quickly exit and walk into the complex hallway where I felt more at ease knowing that security was right there.I truly appreciate all of the effort and work that Maria, Deja, Demond & Oscar have been putting into the complex. Previous office management did not seem to care about our safety or upkeep of the property. As no apartment is, It’s not perfect, because majority of the issues that occur are resident created issues (trash occasionally left in hallways, misuse of amenities, mishandling of elevators, lack of cleaning up after pets and overall carelessness). I really appreciate how they stay in communication when things occur and give us real time updates. They’re the best!
I really enjoyed my tour this past week , the property was very clean and upkept. I really look forward to leasing that A5a. Nantzin and Demond make a very good team and showed amazing customer service. I would definitely recommend !
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Tate. After paying a $300 application fee, the staff didn’t follow through with the application. The unit we chose was taken the next day, even though we had paid to lock the unit. I requested a refund but they refused and since then we haven’t got a response. When I tried to get more information, the staff was rude and unprofessional and wanted us to do another application plus pay another $300 to get the same unit back. They also refused to let me speak with the manager. This lack of transparency and poor customer service is unacceptable. I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Save your money and look elsewhere.
I continue to love this property! Let’s start with the convenience. It is right behind a grocery store, across the street from liquor store, and I have a 4 star cafe that closes at 10pm! I had the pleasure of meeting new manager, Maria, at resident meeting. Very easy to talk to and understood my concerns around pending requests I had from previous staff. Not only did she understand but she actually made it point to stop by my unit to check-up on me. The care around her attention to detail is admirable. Another guy named Oscar also helped me via email & in-person in Maria’s absence and ensures promptly follow-ups. Glad I can finally count with both of these team members to tag team my requests.
My friend lives here. Absolutely dirty place, and I know my friend just wants to complain, but they never seem to care about any resident complaint.Let’s see if they fix this right here.2 days in a row and there is poop in the hallway. I came to pick my friend up and I just had to take this pic and share.Oh, worst part is, the dog poop is inside the door which leads to outside to where dogs can freely poop and residents don’t have to pick it up.Now that’s on the resident first for being a simple low class peasant minded excuse as a reliable adult. But now, it’s all on the Tate. Clean your place up! This isn’t the first time dog poop has been in the hallways! I stepped in it two weeks ago, in the HALLWAY! On the CARPET! Do better!
We have moved out the first week of September. Gave two months notice prior to moving out, still waiting for our security deposit. The most frustrating thing is this. The Tate leasing office says they are not responsible for deposits anymore since we have already moved out, we need to talk to the corporate office to get our deposit back, which is located in Washington. The corporate office never answers the calls, and when you get a hold of them, they say they will talk to Tate and then get back to you. This is still not resolved, the last response from corporate office was two weeks ago, with no much help at all. Shouldnt the leasing office be responsible to take care of all this and refund our deposit? why do we have to chase after an out of state corporate office to get our deposit back? Our time is not valuable? AVOID THIS APARTMENT, they will put you through so much mental torture when you move out.
I had a great experience! Everything on the property looked clean and organized. Nantzin was amazing! She gave me a tour of the property and answered all my questions. Definitely will be recommending her to my friends and family!
They do not clean trash or the trash rooms. It would smells all the way to your apartment. Please check carefully other reviews enforce you live here!
Moved here about 8 months ago from out of state without seeing the property in-person. At the time it was under different management. Didn’t have the best reception when I arrived. Reception folks were unprepared and not very welcoming. Had hoped to be guided to my apartment because I had no idea where to go, instead I was given my keys and had to locate it on my own. Building is built like a maze so it took me a while to find it at first. The management staff has gone through at least three iterations since then and has gradually gotten better at addressing resident concerns. My pros are:- Great location!!! HEB grocery store is walkable, close to restaurants, neighborhood is generally quiet and comfortable to live in, and relatively diverse.- Management tries to build community through resident programming and events- Apts have in-unit washer and dryer- Small Fitness center, not the best but its functionalMy cons are:- Cleanliness has been my major concern. Seems like there are a lot of dog owners in the building and can sometimes smell urine in the hallway carpets (esp. on 1st floor) and also in the elevators. I’ve seen feces in the hallway before. Management does its part to clean up, so this is more so an issue with the residents.-- Hallway Trash chutes can be a mess. I’ve seen the trash chutes on my floor overflow with trash. Some residents throw anything in there and some do not tie their bags which leave trash items all over the floor. A terrible stench can sometimes linger throughout the hallways. Some residents leave trash bags out during the day well before the pickup hours outlined in the lease. This also contributes to the hallway smell. Again, this is a resident community issue, management seems to be doing what they can.- Package delivery is an issue. The building uses a LuxerOne package room where you need a code sent to your smartphone to get in. There have been many times where my packages have arrived and I did not receive a code. The room itself is somewhat organized but its still hard sometimes to locate my packages when I’m in there. What’s most concerning is that the door is left open sometimes because some residents forget to shut when they are done.- Elevators seem to shut down often. Past few months at least one different elevator has been down over a few days. This can happen for various reasons. However, management is usually quick to address this.
I wish I could give zero stars. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! On the outside they look nice, the model is nice, & the office staff seems like they care but they don’t. One would think for the amount you pay in rent you would get better service but you do not. I’ve gotten better help with service requests from my old apartment that I was paying $800 for. I have only been here a month and a half and I have been ready to move! You have to constantly call and harass them to get anything fixed and I do mean you will be waiting weeks for a resolution to one service order, the grounds in the back is poorly kept, they have 2 big and 3 small trash containers for this huge complex so there is constant trash over flowing all around the containers. Hallways on floors away from the office stink, snats everywhere, poor insulation I hear every step and conversation from my surrounding neighbors. Please save yourself the hassle and look somewhere else.
Desmond and Maria are the only saving grace to this complex which is why I didn’t rate this as 1 star, but due to having limited contact with them, speaking to anyone else is tiring. I would strongly advise potential residents to exercise caution when considering this apartment complex. My experience with the management has been consistently unprofessional and frustrating. They have repeatedly charged extra fees on a monthly basis, and when you approach them to address these erroneous charges, they promise to remove them but fail to do so unless you show up in person multiple times daily to keep them accountable. If you don’t work from home or are not in the vicinity of the complex, contact with personal is virtually nonexistent. To make matters worse, the high turnover rate among the staff adds an additional layer of frustration. Dealing with employees who are unfamiliar with how to assist or how to connect you with the right resources to resolve issues only compounds the problem (it’s not the employees fault but this is still exasperating). In addition to the ongoing issues with management, there are other significant concerns that make this apartment complex a less than desirable place to live. The frequent elevator malfunctions have been a recurring problem, causing considerable inconvenience to residents. Its not uncommon to find yourself waiting for an elevator thats out of order or experiencing frequent breakdowns, which can be especially frustrating if you live on a higher floor.Furthermore, the parking situation here is another source of frustration. Many parking spots on each floor are reserved for an extra fee, yet they often remain vacant. This exacerbates the already limited parking availability, making it challenging for residents who rely on these spaces to find parking near their units. It feels like a wasted opportunity to provide better parking options for everyone in the building, especially given the high fees associated with these reserved spots.Taken together, these issues, along with the managements unprofessional behavior and hidden fees, create a living experience that falls far short of what one would expect from a luxury apartment complex. Prospective tenants should be aware of these problems before making the decision to move here. When reading other reviews, be sure to read the ones from actual residents and not just people who toured but never moved in as they don’t deal with these ongoing issues. Also, recent positive reviews may be due to the reward program the apartment added to offer to write reviews for a gift card.
WORST building I’ve ever lived in my whole life! First year living here I had a bug infestation in my apartment that simply wouldn’t go away. After too many fights they moved me to another unit. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an answer from the leasing office team! They have been charging me incorrectly for more than 6 months and it doesn’t matter what I do or say, they simply won’t fix it. The elevators NEVER work and the building is super dirty. My friends car have been robbed inside the garage. DO NOT MOVE HERE, you will regret it!!! I will contact a lawyer to try to get me tf out of this building.
Demond was at the office by himself. we came to talk with the person that helped us before. but she was not there. he went out of his way to answer all our questions and to assist us even though we were not his client. i highly praise him for the quality of his communication and for going beyond. because of him we leased the apartment.
My visit here was amazing, staff is nice and works promptly on your needs. The property is absolutely beautiful and very clean. So excited to be moving in , in a few months!
UPDATE!!! I moved out! Guess what? It’s been two months and they will NOT give me my deposit back. It isn’t because I owe anything. They simply can’t even tell me why. The manger was supposed to update me last month. She did not. Demond told me to speak to Oscar, then I was told he didn’t work there anymore. Then he told me to contact Alyssa ( bc who is that?). He didn’t give an email or phone number to contact this Alyssa person. Again, I stand on the fact that the people in the leasing office are incompetent and will not help you. I will screenshot and attach my emails with the dates.DO NOT MOVE HERE!!The front office staff will NOT listen to your concerns. They WILL NOT answer the phone. The guy in the front office Demond, claims that he is a some sort of apartment fixer. He never says that hes a manager, he claims he is more than that LOL. It is clear that he is a leasing agent hoping to aspire to be more. The previous comment about him is 100% accurate. He is rude and not helpful.1. As of one week ago, A HOMELESS PERSON was living in the trash chute on the 4th floor. ( No email was sent to the residence)2. (One week ago) All storage units on floors 4 & 6 were broken in to. One resident had some old checks inside. The management told her she could be released from her lease if she signed an NDA.( No email was sent to the residence)3. Recently, someone was attacked in the garage. (No email was sent to the residence)4. The elevator has been broken for months. Management said that they would NOT fix it because people used it to move and they should be using the service elevator. ( No email was sent to the residence)5. Caleb Rebsamen ( who commented above) is supposed to be the HPD officer on duty but he NEVER answers when you call. I was told by management that he doesnt get off work until 1:30 AM. So how is he on duty and available to help residence if hes working until 1:30 AM??????6. Many of the doors are unlocked. We have a system that requires you to use your phone to enter the building but that is null and void if many of the doors can be simply pulled open.7. Maria the manager, with the red/maroon dyed hair also is not helpful, she doesnt return emails nor does she follow up with you as she promised to do.8. The hallways are always dirty and smelling. A simple vacuuming once a week would do wonders but they cant be bothered with maintaining the property I guess.9. Raymond in the front office is the best person on the staff. I wish he would find another job and not have to work the other ppl in that office. Ive been meaning to reach out to him to give him a job. Hes great!10. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
A BIG NOO. Maintenance is really bad, specially for amenities. New management and staff every 6 month. 30$/month for trash and no trash collection for more than a week. Broken Fire alarm went off at @ 2 am for more than 15 nights.
So, I definitely saw some negative reviews, but I decided to check it out and Nicole was super nice. I’ve been living here for a little over a month and not only is the location of the property great, but I love my apartment even more than I thought I would. Amenities are nice & I haven’t had any issues that weren’t solved asap.Update: DO NOT MOVE HERE! Everything was great in the beginning, but then a new team came & it went downhill from there. Maintenance is slow, customer service in the office is terrible, building is not secure & it’s dirty. The only thing going for this place is the location. It’s not luxury.
RUN!!! Management here is terrible.Pros: Close to H‑E‑BCONS:1. Management sucks. I put in a simple fix work order 2 weeks ago and called 3x and they did nothing about it.2. Elevator is always broken.3. No cleaning crew. There is always puke in the elevators and the property.4. Dog gate is always broken.5. Property doors are always broken. Anyone can get in.6. They will literally lease the apartments to anyone. You hear drunk people running up and down the hallway. And drunk people trying to talk to me in the hallways.7. They let aggressive dogs stay here that has bitten other dogs AND people.8. No one ever cleans the dog park. Poop everywhere.RUN! They will lie and say theres new management and they will fix the issues but there has been no changes. Dont believe them!
I went on a tour with Brittney and when I say she is AMAZING I mean it! She was very knowledgeable of not just the property but of the surrounding area. She was very pleasant and reassuring. Every question I asked she was able to answer without hesitation. She was very patient with me the entire way through. Her professionalism is top tier and I can’t wait to move to Houston thanks to such an amazing leasing agent!!!!
My experience with the management so far has been very positive. The whole process from getting the apartment tour, submitting the application, to moving in, everything went smoothly and it only took 3 business days which it’s pretty efficient. the leasing team and the especially NICOLE are very attentive and helpful. I’m very happy to call this place home. The view from my apartment is amazing! Thanks Nicole so much for a great experience!
Update: the elevator that has been broken is still broken. It was broken for months and started working for a week and now it’s down again, so the cycle repeats. No point in complaining because they will give excuse after excuse. To top it off, currently the elevator on the opposite side is also down. I have been taking the stairs to get to the garage but the exit door to the floor I usually park on is BROKEN. There is no way for me to get to my car unless I walk floors up and walk down the garage. It’s really a joke. Once one thing gets fixed, something else stops working that causes an inconvenience. And the thing that gets fixed will only work temporarily. I’m done hearing excuses, I cannot wait to move.———————————————————————It’s definitely a struggle living here. I’ve been trying to put off leaving a bad review but nothing has changed since I’ve moved in. The elevator on my side is ALWAYS broken. It will work one day then the next day it won’t work for more than a week. Whoever is coming to “fix” it is obviously being lazy and not fixing it all the way. The hallway on my floor smells SO bad every few days. And the trash that piles up next to the garage is inexcusable. The elevator area and staircases always smell and you may just run into some dog feces that won’t be cleaned for days. Also it’s incredibly hard to get a parking spot below the 5th floor after working hours. So if your unit is below the 5th floor expect to be walking, especially since the elevator barely works. The maintenance takes weeks to come attend to my maintenance requests. The only thing I like is my unit, the gym, and the clubhouse. That’s it. If you do lease here try not to have any good expectations about anything while staying here and you’ll be smooth sailing. S/o to the people who are keeping it real.
My experience was awesome! The property was very clean and gave me a beautiful vibe as soon as I walked in.Nantzin gave me a tour of the property and was very helpful and showed great customer service! I look forward to calling this my home soon!
Don’t move here! There’s always something wrong. The elevators are always broken, I’ve had packages stolen out of the package room (yes a room instead of lockers) that supposedly had footage but my package couldn’t be located after filing a complaint, my A/C went out 2 days ago, Maintanence came out to fix it (clearly a temporary fix) and it only worked for 1 day and it is now broken again. The hallways smell horrible and there is always trash or pet urine and poop inside instead of outside. There is never any parking on my floor, so just imagine having to park on a different floor and then walk all the way to your floor because the elevators work when they want to. There has also been times when the fire alarms go off in the middle of the night for no reason. People are extremely loud in the pool area late at night when you are trying to sleep and the list goes on. There used to be someone in the leasing office named Nicole that I loved because she went above and beyond and made sure things got done but now we have an entirely new team and some of them are rude with attitudes. I’m filing a complaint with corporate and not renewing my lease at this point! Don’t be fooled by how the property looks especially when people can’t even keep it clean and things are constantly breaking!**UPDATE**In response to management response. I get that you are trying to get people to move here but don’t come on here lying. The elevators were just down RECENTLY like this month and last so don’t lie and say “several months”. If you would like I can forward you the emails that you sent out to the community about the elevators being down and needing parts! As far as my package goes, it was stolen out of the package room and I contacted luxer who sent the video footage over to you and you decided to sit on it instead of getting back to me to let me now what happened. You guys were unable to share the footage with me for whatever reason then told me to file a claim with the carrier. Are y’all stealing the packages? Why can’t I watch the video? As far as the AC goes, this must be a common thing here because me and a couple of other residents were all down at the leasing office yesterday complaining about the same thing. The AC mysteriously going out in the middle of the night and then maintenance coming to do a temporary fix! Don’t halfway fix my AC. Do I halfway pay y’all rent?! The elevators always stop working but if I stop paying rent it would be a problem! People in the leasing office keep getting switched out and never know what’s going on and just tell you whatever. Like I said run away from this place. Everything is going downhill.
This place deserves 0 stars. Whatever business plan they are going by... sad. Promised refund. Nothing. Promised communication FROM the manager. Radio silence. Front Desk has horrible attitudes and are unprofessional. So glad we found a place that is respectful and willing to help. Literally go anywhere else. My friend currently lives there and the hoops that had to be jumped to just have a place to lay your head down... this world is already messed up. The housing is no better.
My experience being a resident for the past three months, has been for the most part pleasant. Demond has been a great help, and Im sure if there are inconveniences, management will respond with assistance in time.
I truly despise this building - smoke in mirrors. My AC has stopped working for the second time in two months, parking is always a hassle in the garage annd you can’t find spots after 7 pm, apartments aren’t properly insulated so you hear every step/creak/sound from your neighbors. Dog poop is constantly on the ground, residents leave their trash bags on carpet for valet trash to pick up, which creates an odor to linger around the halls and management just doesn’t care. Outside doors are always open for people to access, meaning their app for “security” is absolutely useless. Save yourself the trouble and don’t move here!
Place is absolutely rancid. Dog poop all over the entire place; mice poop inside apartments; entire hallways smell like trash because of the lack of trash service. Bugs in bathrooms. Empty promises left and right. Can’t imagine how many residents want to get out of a lease after signing within a few weeks. I cannot explain enough - do not sign a lease in this place. Management does not care about its residents.
Gotta say this is one of the best apartments I have lived in. The property manager is amazing I think she’s the best thing that happened here in a while, before the hallways where dark but now she has fixed that and I feel better walking down the hallways(old dungeon halls before) now that there lit up. I’m glad we got Maria here now, she’s making things better.
Welcoming, attentive, and accommodating front office staff. Parking can get a little tight so I recommend getting a reserved spot.
I love living in my fabulous 2 bedroom apartment at Tate. It feels so nice in this newly built home.I’ve lived here for 5 months now and couldn’t be happier with my lifestyle.Candice was my leasing agent, she is so sweet and welcoming. Nicole and Nataly are also very helpful and get back with emails on timely manner.Maintenance guys are very friendly and hardworking. So pleased with Kevin’s politeness and willingness to help. He has helped me every time I ask.Tony is so kind and knows his job too. Had his immediate response when I had a little trouble with AC.Overall my experience is excellent. Just make sure to download and use Fetch address for any of your deliveries, that’s the only problem I had here in the beginning. But as soon I understood what to do it was fixed.
I couldnt get out of here fast enough. I begged the front office to clean the stairwell by my apartment, and they would reply saying sure, then the same mess would remain for a month or more. The complex is too big for the amount of staff they have the maintain it, and the residents treat it like trash. So much trash everywhere. The layout is horrible, with the parking garage not connecting to the fifth floor. The elevators broke often and the fire alarms always went off in the middle of the night. There are many other better complexes in the surrounding area! Its really not worth leasing here.
I have been on many apartment tours throughout the Houston area; and let’s just say they have not been the best experience due to the leasing agents or the conditions of the apartments. However going on a tour with Brittney was a breath of fresh air! She is very knowledgeable about the apartment and the surrounding area and just had the most welcoming energy than any other leasing agent I have encountered. If the apartments wasnt so far away from my job I would have moved in just solely based off of Brittney’s vibes!!
I toured the property with Antoine, and he was nothing short of amazing! Attentive, knowledgeable, and very honest. The apartment complex and unit is absolutely beautiful, but I was quite nervous about what to expect when touring due to the negative reviews I read. From what I was told, there is new management at the property, so there are a lot of active changes being made to improve their standards.UPDATE: I ended up rescinding my application due to poor communication from the leasing agent who helped me with my application. I wasnt completely sold on the changes that the complex was making and looking back, I definitely made the right decision in not moving into the complex.
Diamond was very informative and friendly. Property was amazing on my tour
I have sent 3 emails asking this to be cleaned. First email they responded. No response on 2nd/3rd email. This is filthy. And I shouldn’t have to see this everyday for last three weeks walking to my apartment. Please correct this and the upkeep of entire building. I will not be renewing my lease.Since google won’t allow me to leave a new review this is an update to my original review.Update 8/17/2023.This place is horrible! Do not make the mistake I did and be tricked by the nice pictures on their site and the floorsplans. The apartment homes themselves are nice but it’s not worth all that comes with it. My AC has gone out 4/5 times in the last month. They just fixed it 3 days ago and it is now out again. I put in a service request, sent an email and even went to the office this morning just to return home and it’s still 81 degrees inside my apartment. I’m reaching out to corporate next. I have to go stay with a family member tonight because they have not fixed my AC as they assured me they would today. Unacceptable. I absolutely hate this place. Elevators have been down at least two weeks now. I have been taking the stairs to the 6th floor past two weeks. Inside the stair walls someone has written “big di*k” on the walls . Don’t not move here.
Beautiful property overall. I came by recently for some general information as I will be moving soon and Demond was extremely helpful and informative! It makes moving much less of a hassle when you are given assistance by someone who is patient and understands how to make the experience a breeze. I will be back when I have more time for a tour for sure!
Pros: Friendly and awesome staff. Maintenance staff response is really quick and always fixes the issue the first time. The rest of the staff is always great and are helpful with any questions. No issues with safety personally and just a great location for a great price.Cons: Honestly cant think of any issues that Tate themselves are responsible for :)I can honestly say this is my favorite apartment I have ever lived in. I havent had had any crazy issues, but even when I have had any concerns or subtle problems, they have been addressed with promptness and professionalism. Cant recommend this place enough!
I agree with a previous review below on being skeptical on the property based on the reviews. The apartments are close to everything for me so I stopped in on my lunch, and they were able to quickly show a few units. Candice was very informative and was able to help me start paperwork that day. I’ve been here for two months and have enjoyed it. My neighbors are friendly and it’s quiet, and I love being close to great shopping and restaurants.
Great service, clean room, and friendly staff. Even the decorative books in the bedroom were real. Opened the cover expecting a hollow box, ended up spending 30 minutes reading about John Stuart Mill and Utilitarianism. And they keep soap in a glass jar like it’s an enchanted rose that’s wilting away faster than you can get Belle’s phone number. I haven’t seen any yet… but a singing tea pot wouldn’t surprise me. Just saying.
Great property, spacious apartment and great amenities. Lived here over a year now and haven’t had any major issues. The management company has been super helpful with any minor issues that I have had. Overall, great complex!!
Went into Tate for a tour today and got to work with Brittany. She made the experience 10/10 and was extremely professional and helpful. The community was really clean and amenities were top tier. Everything looked brand new and safe. Great community!
I have been living at the tate for a couple years now and i wanted to leave the new manager Maria a good review. I was having an issue and she was able to resolve it for me. I have notices improvements since she arrived and i want to make sure she knows her residents notice.
I’ve lived here for just over a year and by the time my lease is up I’ll have been here for two years. I Love my individual apartment, the size, layout, price, etc., and love the food truck Thursdays are a great way to get to try new foods but there are definitely some problems with the community. The cleanliness of the community seems to go in phases where it is up to standards and even smells nice but then gets gross again. Either they need to schedule/hire more house keeping or just make it a bigger priority. The communication from the office staff to the community on problems, updates, etc., is needing some improvement. I’m definitely of the camp that believes it’s a good problem to have “too much” communication than to have next to none at all. Lastly, there’s maintenance, sometimes it’s what you expect, fairly quick turnaround from friendly staff with helpful advice, but then other times it takes almost a month, with multiple trips to the office to ask about it, for them to get you a new light bulb. On that time I even asked if they could just give me the lightbulb and I’ll change it myself. And don’t even get me started on the elevators always seeming to be broken. A few months ago the management company replaced all the office staff and they seem eager to improve but results haven’t been noticed yet. They may advertise as luxury apartments and they definitely have the potential to be that but it’s like a Mercedes covered in sewage, it’s definitely still a Mercedes but it’s definitely still covered by what comes from my toilet after Taco Bell.
I currently live here going on 2 years and it wasn’t as bad as when I first moved it but NOW it has went down hill drastically! I can attest to all the other negative reviews and what they are saying is COMPLETELY true! This place just slaps the luxury label on it but it’s far from it. Do yourself a favor and find else where. Demond and Deja is just a complete waste of time you’re better off trying to get things done yourself SO unprofessional. I went even waste time speaking on the nonexistent property manager.
If I could give 10 stars for Brittney’s service I would! This has been such an overwhelming process but after meeting Brittney I felt so much more relaxed and prepared to make such a big decision. I am actually relocating and Brittney was able to provide phenomenal service regarding the property and actually put my nerves at ease. She has been resourceful, knowledgeable and the leasing agent I never knew I needed!
Went to take a tour of a lovely 2 bedroom unit and had the pleasure of being shown around by Brittney. Besides the apartment being as advertised and at a great price, Brittney was very friendly and inviting, and gave my Girlfriend and I all of the information we could need. Can already tell the management here is solid.
Nicole has a great customer service. She took her time on looking for the right unit. If anyone is interested in looking for apartment come tour with Nicole she is super sweet takes her time and is very informative. I cant wait to move in at Tate.
Waste my time on this place one of their members staff Hispanic lady was totally disrespectful zero polity I went at least three times and she always give bad actitud with me and my girlfriend I don’t know how she’s still working and customer service she’s terrible in what she’s doing they should train their staff how to treat the people poor service
I had a chance to stop by this property while apartment hunting. I was greeted by Ms.Ross! She was soooo helpful! Dressed super nice and professional. She had the answers to all my questions! I’m highly considering this property just because she was very knowledgeable and helpful! I had a good day after that because her energy overall was exactly what I needed! Thanks Ms. Ross for exceptional customer service!
I’m now in my 3rd lease with Tate! I’ve previously had good experiences with this complex. Hence the reason I’m still here. However, I’ve seen so many new faces in the office and I’ve encountered numerous incidents of the team not being on the same page. They’ve be wildly unorganized.I am currently waiting to hear back about them having two leases under my account, showing two different move out dates. One mentions a 15 month lease and the other mentions 12month lease. I never knew of a 15 month lease, and all communication I have shows 12months. Now my “60 day notice” for the 12 month lease has passed. It’s been over a week and I have not heard from the property manager. The most frustrating part is the same thing happened to me last year when I transferred apartments. I was forced to stay in my other apartment longer, all because they had a two different dates on file. The unorganized drama doesn’t stop there. I sent a friend here and they signed a lease. I was suppose to receive a credit towards my rent for the referral. This never happened and almost everyone in the office had a different story. I missed out on $1000, and no one followed up.Chrystal the Assistant Manager has been here almost the whole time I’ve live at Tate. She’s the only consistent face I’ve seen. She’s been really great to me. She’s helped with me so much and I’m grateful. Unfortunately this issue is behind her. I hate that my frustrations with how this office is ran may reflect on her.If you’re considering moving here... I’d take this review to heart coming from a resident of 3yrs. Office organization and great communication should be priority. I don’t trust that it is.
My experience at Tate was not a pleasant one. Anything dealing with the leasing staff/management was a huge inconvenience. The staff is unorganized, and does not care about their residents in the slightest. I would not recommend this complex to my worst enemy.I moved into this apartment in December. The unit was appealing and the location of the property was great. The leasing staff was very unorganized throughout the move in experience. I attempted to look past this because I was in need of an apartment. I had issues immediately. The first night in the apartment my washing machine flooded the apartment hallway and was not working properly. It was like pulling teeth with management attempted to get assistance for an issue that is not a minor problem.Throughout my two month tenure here the complex was very dirty. Following new years eve there was throw up in the main elevator that remained for over a full week.Following the most recent winter storm on February 16 the pipes busted on the third floor of the apartment complex which resulted in serious water damages throughout the entire complex. I know that this could not be avoided and catastrophes happen at no fault of the complex or the management. There is a certain expectation on how to treat a tenant and a duty to assist a paying customer. I feel that the ZRS management failed to do their duty of providing sanitary living conditions.I was displaced for 14 days, not living in my apartment because of flooding in the common area hallway and inside of my specific unit. It took me calling repeatedly over a three day span requesting to speak to the manager to finally hear back after the office had been opened for 5 days. The manager Laura finally advised me that I would be able to return and would be relocated into a new unit of comparable price and the same floor plan. Upon arrival with all of my belongings with the expectation of being moved into a sanitary new unit, I found mold inside of the closet and completely soaked carpet. The entire closet smelled of mildew and the carpet had moisture through to the concrete. Laura and the leasing team wanted me to just move into that unit and not place my belongings in the closet. I expressed my concern and advised them that this was not acceptable and that I wanted a clean unit with sanitary living conditions. Laura attempted to place me in the same wing on the first floor hallway into a unit that had water damage on the ceiling, no toilet tank cover and a few other issues. I was forced to break my lease after they told me this was the best they could do and that I should just accept these broken water damaged units and they would place a service request to remove the mold areas and damages.I was charged full rent for the month of February and was expected to pay rent on March 1st, even though I had been displaced and not been living inside of the apartment. After deciding to break the lease and pay out I was still denied any documentation showing I am clear of the apartment and cancelling the contract. I was required to pay 60 days of rent to break the lease even though I was given no option to move into a humanly sanitary unit.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!! I’m so glad our lease is over in 2 months and we are out of this terrible place! For starters elevator NEVER works super inconvenient when you have groceries or just trying to get something delivered and you live in the 4th floor. Hallways smell extremely bad! Trash room is disgusting!!! Nobody ever picks up trash around garage or building period. Alarms go off all the time!!!! We had the alarms going off at 3AM for about 2-3 weeks straight!!!!!!!!! Don’t fall for the nice building and nice amenities! RUN!!! Do not fall for it!
The application process here has been nothing short of appalling. I was initially told on Monday that my application was stalled because of a $300 collections charge on my rental history. I sent over a letter from my prior apartment stating that my balance had been paid in full and upon the leasing office receiving this information, they then tell me that its from a different complex. I requested to know what property it was showing a collection as it was not appearing on the multiple credit reports I pulled before beginning this process. After nearly 48 hours of just waiting for this information, I receive notification that my application was denied based on credit history. Its baffling to me that 1.) Upon notifying me that I had a rental collection, they cant simply tell me what property it is showing these charges when they must obviously know if they can tell me what the wrong property is. 2.) That even as actively as Im attempting to rectify these issues with consistent communication, the office has been less than helpful. This certainly is not the level of service Id expect from a Greystar community as my friends live at other Greystar managed properties and their experiences have been nothing like mine so far. Im very willing to work through these issues with the office but Ill be hesitant to give them my business if they dont seem to care to have it.Edit 9/22/22: 4 months after is when they finally reached out regarding my complaint. Keep in mind that they were not willing to talk to me at the time I was applying and simply disregarded my concerns when I tried to discuss this with them. Is this the kind of service you want from your apartment community? Think hard about that before applying here.
The community is nice. Ive enjoyed living here the past three years. My only con would be the follow up from the Leasing team. There was an issue with my water bill back in June 2020 where I was charged 200.00 dollars for a monthly bill. I was told by the Assistant manager(at the time) that someone would follow up with me. I waited 2 weeks and then reached back out to find out he was no longer with the company. I was then assisted by Gabby. We had pretty good email communication on the situation. I was told that someone from the water company would be coming out to look into the issue since there were no leaks found in my unit. That was in August. I followed up via email in late August and September. I received no response.
This complex looks very nice and has a great location, but its unfortunate how unprofessional this leasing office is. I initially walked in because I was interested in leasing here but no one would speak to me because I did not schedule an appointment. No one was there except the unoccupied leasing agents which Im sure could of answered the few questions I had but rudely declined to offer any help. I later called several times to schedule an appointment but never could get a hold of anyone except some offsite center. I then chatted with a rep online to schedule an appointment but no one ever followed up. At this point I had to ask all my leasing questions with another rep online and even apply online as well. I finally get approved and when I went to get a tour of the unit I was just left alone in the unit by another rude leasing agent. I wish I never wasted my time here. Building looks great but why would I want to live in a place managed like they dont want people moving here.
Nicole has great customer service hands down 100%. She took her time answering any questions I had , responded back to my emails ASAP (literally) , very helpful and attentive and was very nice and kind to me. She made my moving process a breeze. I would definitely recommend her to my friends (and already did) thank you so much once again !
Do not sign a lease here. The front office will never email you back no matter how many times you email them. If you want something done you have to come during their office hours and hope the manager has an “open” appointment. I’ve been emailing them about a noisy upstairs tenant for almost 10 months now & they refuse to even call/email me back because they know they’re not willing to do anything. But there’s more. This apartment complex has terrible parking, guest parking is on the first floor of the garage but where do you think 1st floor tenants end up parking? The 1st floor! So there’s never any guest parking. The hallways are always messy. Tenants leave trash/fast food in the garage & it’ll stay there for weeks at a time.
This apartment complex is aesthetically pleasing and has great maintenance staff. Other than that, I would not recommend living here AT ALL as a resident, interacting with the leasing staff for simple tasks as been a headache every time, the elevators rarely work, the doors rarely work to let you in to the building, if you live on the 5th floor theres no direct access from the garage, my bike has been stolen with the leasing staff mocking me when i asked for help, and half the time the machines in the gym and the tvs work. Overall the management staff is below poor with inconveniences at every corner.
These are some really beautiful apartments. And the staff is great, specially Demond. It’s hard finding friendly staff nowadays but the Tate has definitely hired great people.
I stopped by this weekend and had a tour with Demond he is so friendly and explained the pricing and ammenities to me so well. There should be more people like him working at leasing offices its always so stressful when moving but he made it an easier experience. Thank You
I’ve lived here 3 months and the reviews about customer service are not a myth. They have ZERO willingness to cooperate with any of your needs and make you go out of the way to meet their demands. When I was first interested in signing here I was a 6 hour drive away and they made me drive 6 hours just to give them my ID because they refused to accept a scanned version in order to process my application. Completely absurd. But it gets worse. I bought a new car and sold my old one, figuring they would need to register a new car for me for the parking garage, I called them. They informed me that I have to pay a fine since I left the sticker registered to my old car in the car I had already sold. They were not willing to listen to me or meet my request to even speak to a manager. I’m currently in the process of contacting the dealership I sold my car to and having them SHIP A STICKER so that I can park without getting towed. Asked the girl at the front desk “if they provide any customer service at all” and she replied with an attitude that “they actually provide excellent customer service but we hold our residents accountable for their actions and items.” I hope the $100 fine is worth it for losing a customer the day my lease is upEDIT: YOU CAN SEE THEIR BS COMMENT BELOW. They are 100% full of it, they comment things like that for public image and reputation, but I can assure you they are all talk. They just had ANOTHER vandalism and break in incident where FORTY cars were broken into and the management just shrugs their shoulders and says “sucks.” At some point they have an obligation to take measures to protect their residents but time after time they don’t do anything when they promise they will.In summary: life is too short to spend a day of your life living at this place, just don’t do it.
BEAUTIFUL community! Moving from NC and my apartment search has been so stressful! The leasing team was very professional and welcoming. I cant wait to call Tate Tanglewood my new home! Thank you so much for making me feel comfortable every step of the way! I will most definitely be back.
I lived here for 2 years and through 2020 (Covid times). The management at this property is so awful that it isn’t worth it. Tate changed management people more times than I can count and companies as well. Greystar is worse than the last company even.As a resident, you can expect a front office that has no idea what they are doing including lying and adding charges to your account. Greystar corporate will side with the property even with the story changes multiple time. The property manager there currently Jessica is a huge part of it. Absolutely no care for the residents. A few times a month you will be woken up in the middle of the night by fire alarms and you are supposed to evacuate. The elevators are down all the time. amenities aren’t usable at times. Service requests can take weeks to be fulfilled. We also had neighbors that frequently woke us up in the middle of the night on weeknights with security and cops showing up. The property did nothing about it and lied about evicting them after the 5th time. They allowed them to renew instead.Overall, save your self the headache and stay away from this place.
I toured this weekend, I’m glad I went to see for my self despite the reviews, the new rep Demond was very knowledgeable, gave me some great pointers as I continue my apartment search, The Tate is now one of my top two! I will be making my decision this week. Thanks for the tour Demond
I have had an amazing experience here!!! The management team is friendly, proactive, and incredibly attentive! They are always ready to help when I’ve needed it. Great location and great apartments.
I would give zero stars if possible. I booked a virtual appointment, which has never been honored and no one even followed up on it. I was never able to talk with a leasing agent, only with the central office - they kept apologizing saying the leasing office is busy, but they will call me as soon as possible. That never happened. I was also told to call at different times of the day, as maybe the office will pick up. I did that and nothing happened. I left a voice message several days ago, and nothing happened. Prices since then have gone up, so I gave up wanting to lease. Very disappointing to say the least.
Up Date 2/9/2020*Cleaning on hallways could improve. sometimes ppl leave trash on the hallways and even in the elevators. is kind of disgusting. either way if is visitors or residents doing that just shows some ppl here are lazy. Security is on and off issue. not sure if I will renew my lease.1/16/20 Ive been living at Tate for a year and so far Im happy. Management and office staff are very attentive. I had a couple of issues in my apartment and they were fixed within a day and I summit my request through the resident portal which is easy and convenient instead of calling. Jonatan Sparks was my leasing consultant he did an excellent job and help me with all the paperwork and leasing process making it easier for me to move in fast. The building and amenities are very nice. Apartments are quiet and have friendly neighbors. Parking spots are available to rent and they clearly have a number on the floors so people know they can not park in reserve parking I paid for mine which is convenient. I did get someones car towed because they park in my spot and left it there for a whole day. The towing company came within 30 minutes. Don’t complain about your car getting towed at your own expense if you park in reserve. I have seen gates getting fixed the same day they’re broken. I have seen security officers in the apartments doing rounds and the are cameras in the parking garage. I Honestly feel safe living at Tate and its great location too.
Dyamond great tour and can’t wait to live in this building
Destiny was super helpful and explained the different floor plans. She also let us know when a floor plan would be available to tour so that we could see different plans for ourselves. She’s super nice and made the experience easy and seamless
We lived there for two years and couldn’t be happier we moved out. Let’s start by the safety and the number of break ins and burglaries that happened over the two years!! Then you have the staff, every single one of them is worst than the other!! If you go in with a question or a request, they deal with you with attitude as if you have interrupted their naps ( ladies, I like to remind you, you are in a customer service spot). After I moved out, I decided not to write a review till I received my last bill (+deposit) reconciliation. I called and left a message for the assistant manager I believe (surly, no one called me back). After a month, today, I called them again as I wanted to know why they didn’t prorate the number of days in the last month rent and refund the difference (keep in mind, I had already paid the full amount at the begging of the month- moved out on the 29th). Ashley answered the phone and I explained the situation ( sounded clueless like always) then she asked me to wait for a min (I waited 25 min with the hold music then I hung up the phone). I called 6 times over the next 30 min and no one answered then was directed to the automated service. Bottom line, I don’t recommend anyone to live there. The apartments are definitely not luxury apartments and the staff is not friendly and not helpful. STAY AWAY
The hallways smell like straight up trash 100% of the time, the residents throw their trash out of their cars into the parking garage and sometimes the trash is there for days, the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night (at least five times in the past month), the leasing office never answers the phone and does not return calls. My car has been broken into twice, even though its gated. They add fees throughout your lease for things you dont use such as a package delivery service fee and a package locker(why do you need both?!). They add renters insurance to your apartment even when you have provide them with your own renters insurance for the entire time youve lived there. Thank God Im moving out. This place is a nightmare and the management is horrible. Save your time and go somewhere else.
So after completing my almost 1-year-here at Tate, I can honestly say that there’s no better place to live here in Houston. Nikki is amazing, she always greets you with a smile and Taylor makes you feel like family. The maintenance people, Javier and Gerardo were always on top of any issues, from changing my AC filter, to replacing a light bulb. Amazing staff. Management listens especially Chrystal, and she resolved issues very promptly. I’m not sure where the negative comments are coming from because I never saw any parking garage issues or heard loud noise. With the security officers walking around I always feel safe. If I weren’t moving back to my home state, I would have definitely renewed my lease. This is what apartment living is all about; they provide a great sense of community with urban living.
Nice place but there’s no security. They are stealing tires now. Twice a week, all 4 tires gone.
The disappointment in communication is an understatement. Not only did I have to call all throughout the day for someone to finally answer at 2p on a Monday. After paying my $280 to apply for an apartment which was discussed with Josie for me to move in at the end of the month. Confirmed with Josie on Tuesday that she would give me a call on Friday with my approval only to receive a call from Chrystal on Wednesday saying my move in date was to be the same Tuesday I spoke to Josie so they can no longer hold the apartment at that rate. Very confused how someone can move in without an approval or signing a lease. Per Chrystal I had to send her an email that she would then forward to her manager to investigate. Why did I need to send an email for their poor communication? It’s Saturday morning, no manager has called to apologize. I did call and Rehana answered, very kind and great customer service. She was extremely apologetic, not even the leasing agent I originally spoke to (Josie) has tried to call to rectify the situation. Poor poor poor customer service and communication. Thankfully they have agreed to give me back my $280 for the app and admin fee. I’m an admin at a clinic and I take customer service extremely serious with my patients. I will do a follow up call just to let them know I am still working on trying to get their matter resolved. Maybe take a page from my book and I’d still be leasing right now. Clearly this place doesn’t know the meaning of going the extra mile.
When I first moved in it wasnt that bad - I actually liked living here.I have lived here for a little over 2 years and I am so happy to be moving out in two months.Pros: I love the layout of my individual apartment. It has great features and fixtures, large size, good use of space, etc.But thats where it stops.Cons:1. Packages: You have to use Fetch package service. Its absolutely terrible. You have to pay a monthly fee, send your packages to a warehouse and then wait an extra day or two to schedule you have your packages dropped off at your door instead of just having them delivered straight to your door in the first place (do not expect to enjoy that fast one day Amazon shipping living here).2. Fire Alarms: The fire alarms have been going off non-stop in the middle of the night. Between midnight at 3:00 a.m. at LEAST once a week. They go off so often that nobody evacuates - its a joke. I just place my pillow over my head and try to sleep through it which is very hard because the alarms in the bedrooms are ear-shattering. They said they fixed it and we had about two weeks of no alarms but then it happened again.3. Bad Smell: The hallway straight up smells like a dumpster fire. I have to hold my breath just to walk down the hallway its THAT bad.4. Management Communication: Dont expect a quick response if you need to reach out to management about anything. A couple of months ago I tried to get a new garage gate sticker (that hardly ever works anyways) and it took me almost two weeks just to get a hold of somebody in the office to get back to me so that I could actually park my car on site! I called the office over and over and I emailed them with no response.5. Parking: I live on the first floor and I have to park up on the 6th floor.. which is fine but frustrating. Half of the parking lot is reserved spaces that require a monthly fee but most seem unused and empty. So it just blocks up half of the parking lot for no reason. Guest parking is pretty much laughable. Expect your guests to fight for a parking spot or park all the way down the street and walk.6. Overall feel of the property: Certainly not luxury. I know all properties have their bumps and nothing is perfect but the overall feel of this place if garbage. The property is pretty and has potential. Great location, great layout, nice finishes, but they have just let it get so trashed. Theres always trash in the hallways, trash in the garage, the garage gates are all beat up and the second security gates have never once worked. The locked doors are always busted and even once they are fixed they are busted again.
We came to tour this apartment complex on Friday the consultant that assisted my mother and I was Ms.McNeil (Keke) and she literally went above and beyond! We’re new to Houston and she has literally been the best part of moving here so far! She was so patient and told us everything we needed to know about the complex even going as far as helping with things she didn’t have to do such as giving us great recommendations for places to eat, places that were hiring, and things to do in the city. Never have we came across a Management personnel that cared as much as she did. She ensured we found a place that we could actually call home and be happy in rather than just looking at us like a number/$ and rushing us to sign a lease that wasn’t suitable for us or just getting us out the door instead she was patient and kept looking until she found the best value for what we were comfortable spending on rent each month. Oh and not to mention she did all this last min no appointment or nothing, she was able to squeeze us into her busy schedule she had that day. Reading the reviews it seems that the whole staff is top tier! She’s just amazing and having a great, honest management team when living somewhere is key! As for the complex it is beautiful and seems very clean and safe. Due to the recent weather it’s put a small hold on signing but once things get back to normal we cannot wait to call Tate at Tanglewood our new home! My family and I are eternally grateful for Ms. McNeil (Keke)!
In the 9 or 10 times that I’ve called the Tate to try and speak to someone in the leasing office my call has been answered once. I realize people are on tours and assisting residents but it’s seems insane to me that you are never able to get a hold of someone. On top of calls I have been to the leasing office 4 times and never in any of the visits did I feel welcome. You always seem like your bothering the person working in the leasing office. I’m a new resident and haven’t moved in yet so I am hoping the experience living there will be better.
Had a pleasant stay during my brief lease. Managers seem really serious about keeping tenants safe and maintaining a secure complex, they request a strong police presence often.
I love staying at the Tate at Tanglewood! The staff is amazing! Natalie, Candice, and Nicole are always there to help you, they’ve give the residence guidance, and they have a great info on just about everything happening in Houston. This apartment also has a lot of events and social gatherings so definitely checkout them out!!!
I havent got my security deposit back in over two months. When it was almost two months after moving out, I asked the person in charge for my deposit(so so hard to contact the person. I had to call office and mail so many times).First he said accounting department going to send new check to lease office(What about old check then? what did they do with that?)After one more week, they still do not send me email or give me a call. I sent an email to request an update for my deposit. They read my email but did not reply. If I do not get my deposit in next week, I will prepare a legal action. I couldnt get in touch with the office while I was living. Keep it in mind!
Worst management Ive ever experienced. Front desk lady is extremely condescending. There are never enough agents to help out with any of your questions. Impossible to get someone on the phone, and then when you do arrive in person it seems as if theyre too busy to help. I didnt interact with the manager until I was ready to consider another apartment. WORST customer service, AVOID unless youre okay with being treated poorly. I have two friends who live here, one of which has not had her maintenance issues resolved in weeks. Glad Im not my friend and backed out before I couldnt. ZRS management = 0 stars.
I have lived in Tate for 12 months now, in June of this year there was a problem with an air conditioning system that affected 3 apartments, including mine. For 3 days in a row in the summer heat of Houston with a 2-year-old baby I was still without air conditioning and there was no solution, I had to buy a portable air conditioner out of my own pocket to be at home, it took exactly 7 days for get the air conditioning fixed. after that I asked for a refund for the money I had to spend to be able to solve the problem on my own. I waited a month for the money to be approved by the directives, (it was only the cost of portable air) they sent me a paper to sign which I signed and sent back. 6 months have passed and they still have not reimbursed me for anything, I have spoken with approximately 15 people, I have gone to the office and they still do not solve anything. Now they say they need another approval !!!! One of the Tate representatives was very upset because I asked her to allow me to talk to the manger or have her contact me or to give me an hour to explain to the property manager my problem, for work reasons I need an approximate hour because they always say that they are going to communicate and DO NOT DO IT! THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS! It is money that came out of my pocket to solve a problem that came from the apartments and now they dont want to answer me. the representative who sounded disgusted hinted to me that I had some mental retardation and that is why I did not understand her and then HANG UP THE CALL !! then I called about 20 times and no one else answered. HORRIBLE TREATMENT, LACK OF COLLABORATION AND NO WORK ETHICS. I would not recommended tate not for its facilities but for the office employees.
Had an amazing tour with Nantzin! Great customer service and very thorough. i will send her all my friends to lease with her!
Great community, plus the manager Maria was so helpful and transparent through out the entire process. We are new and super happy with our decision to be part of the community. Great location, good management, and overall not bad community vibes.
I am changing my 1 star review to 3 stars as since greystar has stepped in, things have gotten much better in my opinion. I would give 4 stars however I am going to wait until I move out to follow up on that extra star. I have been living here since 2019 and have seen the transition from ZRS to greystar.Management office responds to my emails within 24 hours. I stopped by the office yesterday around 5 pm and surprisingly they were able to chat with me.If you have pets, just know the dog park is poorly maintained. Luckily I don’t need to worry about that.I see security once in a blue moon, but the crime in the garage has seriously decreased. It’s probably been over a year since I have seen a vehicle sitting on cinderblocks.Interiors are very cute. Pool can get crowded on weekends and holidays. They implemented a new entry system that requires you to use your phone which is annoying but also convenient at the same time to let guests in - catch 22They invested some dollars in landscaping and curb appeal, although I would much prefer more diligent attention on the trash in the garage and in the hallways. However every time I reach out to the office to address it, I do receive a response.I feel safe living here which is a big perk for me. I love the convenience to grocery stores and parks. I work downtown and the commute down memorial is easy. Bottom line, now that things have gotten better, I would recommend these apartments to a friend.
My experience with Tate was nice until I started talking to them about moving out notice. I went to the front desk and told them that I will move out on the 4th (almost 3 months advance notice). I asked if written notice was needed and was told it wasnt necessary. I was also told that the office was e mailing the manager about my intention to move out who never contacted me or personnel at the office although the management is really good at sending reminders for paying the rent. A week after, I went to the management and this time was able to talk to the manager in person to whom I gave the notice again and again was told e mailing the notice wasnt necessary. The management confirmed that everything was fine. Last week, I received an e mail asking me if I would like to renew my lease. I was confused and left a message at the front desk which never returned to my call. Then, sent an e mail which was responded to in 5 days (a month after I started talking to them about moving out notice) telling me to put down my notice from the day of this particular e mail. Basically they are asking me to pay rent for one more month after 4th, after my moving out date. Because they only accept written notice which I was told otherwise. This beautiful property is managed by people that say one thing but do something else just to make more profit... which is obviously the most unethical way. I really like the people working at the office but believe that this place is managed improperly in such a way that it doesnt deserve tenants. If you would prefer to live in a place with high price, with many break-ins, with unresponsive management that can mislead you to get more money this is the perfect place. BUT there are many other options in the area and even in Houston at this price range where you can live happily. I cant wait to move out of this apartment complex.
I had a death in the family which made our move in date a bit hectic. Sydney went above and beyond to make sure our move-in was as seamless as possible. The layouts at this apartment are very unique and the amenities are pretty cool. Very dog friendly and they do a good job of having community events. Again, Big Shout Out to Sydney for her help.
Don’t let the reviews fool you!! This apartment is horrible I been here for 4 months and I seen more than 10+ breaks in and cars left on bricks!! Management don’t care. Not trying to get security or no cameras. My car was broken into recently. Paying too much money to worry about our cars in a garage. What are the key access for? Why is the garage gated and anybody still could get in? Pointless
Wonderful experience with maintenance. Johnny is a great maintenance man. Whenever you complain about something to the office, he jumps on it immediately and takes great care of the situation. I am very pleased with their service.
I had a great experience with an employee who went above and beyond the call of duty. He takes Customer Service to the next level. Thank you Demond, your professionalism and diligence saved the day!
I am a new resident and I would highly recommend leasing here. Demond was great at communicating and making sure that all of my questions and/or concerns were answered. Moving can be stressful, but he definitely made it a lot smoother! Thank you Demond!
Update!!!Sad,sad, sad is how I would describe my current experience living at the Tate at Tanglewood. For the last 15 months I have witnessed firsthand the gradual and progressive degradation of this property. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! It’s officially the GHETTO! The corridors wreak of odorous garbage, cars get broken into, the fire alarms go off at 3am etc. People fighting in the early am hours on their balconies, it’s terrible. They will let any and everybody move here. When I first moved in it was nice and safe. Then, it started to go downhill like a sinking ship when a new set of management came. We were recently acquired by a new property owner/management and it’s still terrible here. Don’t be fooled by the nice appeal of the leasing center and amenities. This place is an entire mess.
The EV parking situation in this apartment is appalling. Since I moved in in May, there has been no signs for designated EV chargers. Management is always slow to take action. Theres a reason theyre offering 2 free months now.May 2021 update:Still nothing added to the EV parking - its been about a year. Good thing theyre selling this property to Greystar - maybe theyll get better value out of it. The cherry on top is now the fire alarm randomly goes off late at night (3-4am). This has happened at least twice a week for the past month. Buyers beware!
Demond was super helpful, concise, and thorough throughout my entire leasing process. Being assisted by him was a pleasure and I would recommend anyone to go through him. Thank you Demond! 😊
My apartment locator sent me here, I must say, I was extremely impressed. I really like the vibe of the community; its very modern and diverse. The staff was very friendly which, believe it or not, is very difficult to find. My leasing agent, Sarah, was very down to Earth and she made me and my family feel very comfortable. The service is impeccable. I leased the same day.
So I recently I applied with The Tate at Tanglewood and I’ve had an awful experience. I work full time and have made time this week to drop by and find out why I wasn’t approved. They use a screening service that is totally biased and unfair to people who do not have a bad background, excellent rental history and steady income that is over 3x the rent. I’ve been living at my house now for 3 years and have paid my rent here on time and more by $650 than at the Tate and they didn’t approve me because of my credit score. Which is being repaired due to identity theft. On top of that they never answer the phone or return calls after they tell you they will. I made a mistake on my application and they never changed it and that was one of the deciding factors for me not getting approved(I put the wrong income down for annual income) I would never recommend anyone dealing with this property because their service is terrible. You don’t treat people like that who just spent $170 on an Administrative fee and application fee. They tell you different things. The Manager told me the screening company was the one who decides who gets approved or not and the screening company tells you it’s the leasing manager who decides who gets approved and who they will work with. I offered to pay a security deposit and they still didn’t want to work with me. I have a huge social media following and a lot of realtor friends in the city of Houston. I will be blasting this apartment complex to make sure none of my friends ever live here or try to get people to live here.
Run from this place! Do not walk, RUN! If you are contemplating leasing at this complex, I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. In the past 2 months alone, nearly the entire first floor has vacated and moved out of their units. I grew close with a number of my neighbors and we all shared the same concerns with this place, COMMUNICATION. Laura Jones, Zana Figures, Shakeisha McNeil and Matt Elliston on the ZRS management team do not know how to effectively communicate. I should have known during the leasing process when Laura would take days to respond to my e-mail inquiries, and up to the day before my move-in date she barely told me I was approved to move-in. I only wish I had believed the negative reviews about this place, but for some reason I thought it would be different.Since January 2021 they have been testing and fixing the fire alarms. In the past 3 weeks alone, a fire alarm has gone off at 1AM, 5AM, and last night at 3:30AM. It has gotten so bad that no one evacuates anymore (uhh, scary). None of us ever know if its an actual fire and if we evacuated every time the alarm went off, we would all be sleeping outside. I have sent numerous e-mails to management expressing my concerns for safety, and if/when they do respond, they say its being fixed and give some half apology with a BS excuse as to how its not their fault. I have yet to see any contractors here working on it. Not only this, but the alarm is SO loud my ears are constantly ringing now. Cannot wait to leave this place, and will provide a follow up review of my move-out process.Be careful of speeding in the alley way to the garage. Everyday someone is speeding through there and I have nearly been hit multiple times, and the security guard fails to do anything. They should have put speed bumps here a long time ago. Not to mention, the gate to enter the parking garage is always broken and the elevators are not working at least 2-3 times a week. The strangest thing of all is that I receive SO many unnecessary community e-mail communications from Tate, yet they hardly ever respond to my personal e-mails. In one month I sent 8 follow up e-mails to no avail.Needless to say, this has been the worst apartment living experience of my life (I wish I was being dramatic). At this point, I would feel safer living in a box on Westheimer.
I moved to Houston from NC and there was a problem with my initial move up and I was not notified until the morning of the day that I was leaving NC to travel to TX. I believe something happened with my previous leasing agent almost allowing me to fall through the cracks BUT Destiny picked up the pieces and although rocky at first made sure to correct what went wrong with my move in. I appreciate her diligence and I am happy I chose the Tate as my new home in my new city.
I have been here for a few months and my chances of renewing are low. I am happy with my actual apartment, the space. It is an older building, the finishes, appliances and the way things are put together are iffy. However the space for the price is amazing. When my lease is up my rent will be going up as well I assume and I refuse to pay more. The leasing office is the least helpful place I have ever spoken with. The payment system is old, on top of your rent if you are using a card there is a fee so the fee could be 60+ depending on your rent all because it is an older less expensive system to use. To claim luxury apartments this isnt it, however not the worst place in Houston.
Just toured the property and Destiny was incredibly friendly and kind. I’ve toured a lot of apartments/properties and friendly is unfortunately not as common as it should be. The decor of property is as pictured, and the community appears to be warm and inviting.
I stop by with my brother the other day and we both had an amazing experience! Leasing staff Ashley & Rehana, were so nice, professional and helpful. So we leased a 2-bedroom to move in ASAP. We are both super excited. This property is in a great location, and the amenity package and staff are the reasons we leased! Super thrilled about moving in!!Cheers!!
Pros: Nice area, kept relatively clean, fast response if theres an issue with something (kudos to the maintenance team). Thats about it.Cons: Front office staff is nice but some of them are just flat incompetent and look annoyed that they have to do actual work. Thankfully we have a delivery service now and I dont have to deal with their less-than-ideal attitude and demeanor; They charge you ridiculous fees (not security deposit, fees that they keep) if you ever want to use the lounge and you cant even bring alcohol, so bye bye small friend/family gatherings; Obligatory valet trash service (useless because they dont work on Friday/Saturday and it should be optional - people leaving their 3-4+ weekend trash bags at once outside in the hallway makes the place look real nice); Rent $$$ could be slightly better for what you get. Thats about it for now.Overall: its ok.
Firstly, on our move in date half of the light bulbs didnt work and there were other things that werent working. Its being 16 days since our move into the building and none of the repairs we requested have been done so I ended up doing most of them myself or finding work arounds.Secondly, we never received a tour of the building so we had to get lost around it a couple of times to find things on our own. We never got a tour before moving in since we moved out of state for work and we were never offered one once we moved in.Thirdly, there is supposed to be a trash butler that comes to pick up the trash from designated bins provided to each apartment, yet we never got ours so we still dont know how the trash works in the building after almost half a month so we end up throwing it ourselves when we are technically paying for a service to do it with our rent.Fourthly, the portal for repair requests doesnt work and half a month later we still dont have access to anything so we have to put the request in person with a paper form that somehow got lost.Fifthly, we get billed $30 a month to use a package concierge for the building called Fetch. So far the only thing we got from them is one week worth of groceries into the trash (they did send us a check for that) and every single package delayed by 1-2 days. Considering we pay Amazon Prime and other services to get your packages ASAP its irritating having to pay more than double the cost of Amazon Prime into a service that only slows down the packages and doesnt add any value whatsoever.Lastly, the communication from the building has been 0 to none. The trash butler thing wasnt communicated to us and their work with Fetch to redirect the packages from our address to a warehouse wasnt disclosed during any of our conversations.Everything has been so bad that ownership has changed management companies from ZRS to Greystar which is the only reason why its not getting 1 star since I worked with Greystar before and I had good experiences. They seem to be already putting changes in place, and while I understand that everything takes time, as a resident its infuriating to be paying full rent and having to go through this process.
Luckily this is my second time leasing with DEMOND! He does aPhenomenal job at what he does! The entire process was simple, smooth, stress free, and just overall perfect. I look forward to living at Tate tanglewood. Thank you demond!
To be honest I love this place. When I saw bad review I wonder if we live in the same place. The management has always been nice to me and my kid. From the day I made a tour until now I have been dealing with Gaby and Trenise. They are so nice and polite. Every time I call for maintenance they come right away. The place is nice and clean. The few things which doesn’t really bother are residents that dont follow rules. Some people put their trash earlier so it smell bad in the hallway. they are too many dogs so sometimes the place smell like a dog place. Also brunches were nice but since a while its not good anymore. Overall great place to live!
After viewing about 8 other properties today, I stumbled across this gem as I was driving home. I spoke to many leasing agents today and none were as helpful or professional as Ms. Rehanna who helped me find exactly what I was looking for. She had the best personality and right fit the apartment to my exact needs. The location is perfection and it is minutes away from i10, Westheimer, and memorial city mall. I couldnt have asked for more and the residents seem awesome. The amenities are endless and the prices are amazing. I knew this was the right decision as soon as I saw the unit. I am so excited to move in and cannot wait! Thank you guys and keep it up!!
The management here responds to my google reviews yet doesn’t respond to my emails or voicemails regarding the refund that has still not processed and is now several days past the 30 day window.During my application process, I struggled to get ahold of anyone on the phone to help me through issues with the online process. When I went to handle this in person, there was never anyone available to help me and the front desk woman was very rude. Because there was so much confusion with the application as well as it being virtually impossible to talk directly to the manager, I decided I simply wanted a refund for the $180 fee and apply elsewhere (thank goodness I did). After waiting forever in the lobby with my boyfriend, I finally spoke to the manager. She stated that a refund would be processed within the next 30 days. I asked her for this in writing twice in which she simply stated that there would be follow-up correspondence from one of the staff.I sent the follow-up email myself demanding confirmation of refund that had just been discussed. The response was a receipt for the application as well as a denial letter. Since the 30 days have now passed and I have still not received refund, I tried leaving two voicemails which have not been responded to. My emails have been met with crickets. Though when I leave a review, I get a response the very same day.I’ve since moved into one of the Finger Companies’ properties and did so based solely on how amazing the management is with customer service. Well worth paying the extra money in rent. I was able to move into an apartment within 48 hours and literally anytime I call, someone answers the phone. As for Tate, the only viable solution is to protect yourself as a consumer and avoid them completely, or report their doings to TREC.
There’s a huge disconnect I’ve experienced in my time living here. The place and amenities are fairly nice. It might have to deal with operations. The problems facing this place are incredibly resolvable, reversible and preventable, yet go on anyway. There is a new property management company that recently came onboard the Friday going into Memorial Day weekend 2021. The new management seems little different in effect from the old. There remains major operational failures and any report of issues is treated like it’s the first they’re hearing about it no matter how long ongoing and obvious it is.Memorial Day is widely regarded as the beginning to summer yet 3 weeks into June since summer began and the pool hasn’t been that clean since. It fluctuates between dirty and gross, or really dirty, really gross. There have been chronic and severe lapses in service based amenities and upkeep also. That goes with either management company in the time I’ve been here. They’ve both been highly reluctant to communicate the bad news in a timely responsible manner about outages, widely reported issues, and the lapses in services. They communicate a little better when they have a potential explanation they’re confident in pacifying their failures in delivering on contractual obligations. However, that’s sparingly and they milk weak excuses really hard for so much longer than is necessary.Their calls for patience and understanding are long since played out. If it were the transition then things would improve. That remains to have taken effect. It’s grown and maintained clarity, when dealing with these apartments you must expect to adapt to them, not them adapting to you, nor adequately addressing concerns of residents. I say adequately address concerns of residents, but you’re in luck to get a reply at all. So many unanswered emails. So many eye sores around the property.A huge double water fountain to which is the centerpiece of an entire courtyard has been down since January, or 2 1/2 seasons out of the present year. The pool’s maintenance is now at this abismal standard since the beginning of Summer. For a community this size, such things should be attended.Fix the problems and I’ll work with you to take down, edit or follow up more positively on this review. I have documentation to support every claim I’ve made here.
Firstly and only, the location is ideal for location, location, location. There are WAY too many issues with this property starting with the leasing staff not being friendly or accessible. Before you move they are very accommodating, once you are a tenant, good luck in trying to get anyone to answer the phone or give you 2 minutes of their time if they are in the office.Security at the property is below par. Most doors are not locked and anyone from the street can access the building. This is not ideal if you live on the first floor. Also, when there are break ins or thefts, no email it sent out alerting the tenants so we can be notified to take more safety precautions. It would be nice if the Property Manager or someone from maintenance could walk the property daily or weekly to check doors to make sure all are locked as they should be.Even if you raise these issues to ZRS Corporate office, you will not receive a return call or email.Poor quality of standard!
I went in to tour tate tanglewood and the office was very behind. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our scheduled tour, all the while an alarm blared in our ears very loudly making conversation difficult with people right next to you. About 25 minutes into the wait a manager, who had been sitting at his desk in his office this entire time, came out and pushed a few buttons on a panel to turn off the alarm. If he cant be bothered to turn off the fire alarm I dont want to know how incompetent he and his staff could be over the course of a lease. Hard nope from me
I toured Tate Tanglewood last week with Brittney. Compared to other complexes, she greeted me with a smile. She was very helpful and followed up the next day. I’m glad I stop by. It’s a beautiful and quiet community.
Great luxury apartments, great location with the Galleria nearby and lots of restaurants. I have been a resident for over 2 months now, management does a great job with any issues you may run into and the complex is well kept and clean.
The worst thing about this apartment is that the freaking fire alarm goes off once a week, EVERY WEEK AT THREE AM!!!!! They never fix the fire alarm issue thats causing the pain of the residents. Its so unbearable. Im literally writing this review when the alarm is beeping unstoppable at freaking 3am! Make it stop! Seriously. I havent had a good night sleep every since this alarm nightmare. Gosh Im so glad my lease ends next week and Im moving out here forever 😡
My leasing agent, Candice has made my move and transition here so smooth! She has been super helpful since day 1 and goes above and beyond to ensure residents are taken care of.Thank you so much Candice!
I currently live here now and the management is horrible. The elevators are never in service. Management once went two weeks without collecting trash in the building which resulted in a fruit fly infestation. Management made us wait a week before for pest control to arrive. I went to speak to a manager about issues but the front office keeps telling me the managers are unavailable to speak with residents. Nice building, nice location but the management will run you away.
Great amenities and Nice Apartment. Now management is the worse horrible customer service they only worry about getting new tenants. No upkeep service request take days Tenants leave trash out side there apartment waiting for valet trash for days, doors are broken. My girlfriend parked in the visitors parking her car got broken into. Ive seen dog poop in the hallways and elevators. Getting a package is horrible no organization what so ever they just have a closet where they put all the packages sometimes there is not enough room in the closet and they are just thrown outside the door, ive always paid on time but they are really good about sending Payment Reminder over and over and over they took the money out my account and i still get more emails reminding now if you email them about anything it takes days to respond if any. The walls of the apartment are very thin so you here everything. I cant wait to move out.
I had amazing tour with Destiny. She gave me all the details about the property and the events that the community has. It was a pleasure meeting Destiny and touring the property. Great customer service!
I have been living at Tate at Tanglewood for almost two years and I really like the place. The amenities are great. The place is kept pretty clean. There is adequate parking. The best part is the location. The HEB grocery store is next door and I walk to several of the shops including a mailing center, a dentist, a barber, a Chinese food restaurant, a burger restaurant, a veterinarian, and an optometrist. I have easy access to Highway 59, Interstate 10, and the 610 Loop.
I have lived at the Tate for over a year. I have complained about the lack of security, terrible parking, broken amenities and more for months. However, recently I have watched the Tate make some incredible changes. They have listened to our complaints and have acted accordingly. The Tate has recently hired new security guards whom I see and have met. These guards enforce the rules and patrol the grounds every night. The broken amenities have been fixed and the grounds are kept clean. The Tate has made some incredible changes lately and I could not be happier. I was very close to moving out a few months ago, but after seeing the Tate listen and respond to its tenants, I have extended my lease and would refer my friends to live here!
Completely horrible service. It’s a fake luxury apartment please don’t be fooled. From the broken elevators every week to the unsafe garage where your car will get broken into to the pet feces in the hallway every day to the full of attitude office assistants AND managers. Not to mention the complete unresponsiveness but God forbid you have a glass bottle at the pool, they will send an email out immediately. The worst experience at an apartment in my life and I thought it was gonna be the complete opposite. There are probably one thousand alternatives to choose from that would give you a better experience than this. Even receiving the notice to vacate form has been a headache, tried to contact every day of the week still no response, what are they even there for.....
Leasing representative was knowledgeable, friendly and over all an added asset to the apartments in total. Property was well kept and the amenities were very well designed.
Your car will be broken into, every month they add additional charges to your rent. Equipment is always broken at the gym and there are always fire alarms going off and random times. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
My Fiance and I have been living at Tate for over 6 months and we still love it! From the very beginning the staff has been very professional, friendly, and helpful. Especially Rehana, she has been incredible! She made us feel right at home and is always there to answer any questions or concerns we may have. Thank you!
Love Tate Tanglewood! I am new to Houston and strongly considering moving here because the amenities. Raymond was very helpful showing me around the apartment complex. Showing the one and two bedroom.👍🏻
There’s no security and two apartments have been burglarized in the past 3 weeks. The security gates to the garage are broken most of the time. Doors are left open around the building for easy access for anyone to come and go as they please. Trash and grocery carts are constantly left in the hallways. When our lease is up we’re out of here.
Contacted this property multiple times for a quote and leasing info… spoke with the manager and another sales rep that was suppose to email me details… it has now been a week and nothing. I have contacted this property multiple times to get info and they don’t respond. If this is how they treat potential residents I can’t imagine how they treat the people that actually live here.
Tate is the equivalent of a college dorm with a much higher price tag. Great location, nice amenities but over half the residents here dont give a damn about keeping the place nice. Trash thrown out of cars in the parking structure, dog poop in the hallways, heb shopping carts wheeled to the pool and abandoned, loud and obnoxious parties on Sunday nights, on and on.Emailing the office gets no result. This morning some genius is BLASTING hard core rap at the pool. Seriously? What the actual hell is even happening?!As more people move in it gets worse. The staff has zero control here. No email reminders are sent out to advise people not to act like ass hats. Im unsure of any penalty for being completely obnoxious and asinine so if you want to live in an overpriced area in which you can act a fool with no consequences this may be the place for you.
I moved in around September and was a bit nervous due to bad reviews. It’s better than I expected but the biggest annoyance for me is the upkeep around the complex. I do not understand the small dumpsters for this huge complex. I also do not understand where there isn’t something hiding the dumpsters . I do not want to pull up and see dumpsters filled with trash and in the way of entrance. Doesn’t make sense to me why the dumpsters aren’t hidden away . They also started painting window frames white probably two months ago and didn’t finish. It looks crazy. Please do better with upkeep around apartment and consider placing dumpsters elsewhere or hide them bedhind a privacy fence
Please BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!! Don’t move here worst apartments ever!!!!! I have bugs all over my apartment management is very rude doesn’t care. I moved in at the end of February and no accommodations have been made. If you want to deal with unprofessionalism that comes with this property then by all means move in. I paid all this money for me still not to be taken care of no one cares extermination has not come out in the past couple weeks no one has called to check to see if everything‘s OK no one to stop by. I have these bugs that are caused by the unit next-door all of my apartment because the unit next-door has water damage. Don’t move here I have bugs in my bed all my ceilings my walls my dogs water bowl everywhere in the apartment and management has at done nothing. This has been absolutely the worst experience of my life.
Absolutely love living at the Tate, it’s close to everything and completely walkable. The front office staff is super helpful. I love Rehana Qazi, she’s so down to earth and gets things done. She made the leasing process super seamless. She literally will stop whatever she’s doing to make sure whatever problem you have gets solved. Plus she has a great attitude. Thanks Re!
Just moved in and I must say from the excellent customer service I received from Candice Baker to the beautiful apartment and amenities I am In love with this property! Everyone I’ve encountered so helpful and kind I could not be happier with my choice to live at the Tate!! Please take the time to review this property because had I gone off of some of these reviews I would have definitely missed out on a great community!
Although I did not end up choosing this place, Antoine was amazing. We toured Tate on a Sunday and this poor guy was the only one working. He was extremely busy as there was a constant flow of people waiting to speak with him... and he still took the time to give us a proper and non-rushed tour. Very hard worker and professional. Tate is lucky to have him.
Absolutely friendly staff great help from demond, nantzin Dyamond
If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would! This was the worst experience I have ever had with an apartment complex and didnt even finish the process the Manager Johanna and leasing agent Nicole treated me horribly werent helpful with anything and honestly seem like they know nothing about their job. Its as if theyre trying to get as many people to apply get there money and resell the apartment with no notice! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!
After contacting the complex with regards to an Illegal tow that was made from the complex I contacted the CEO who runs complex who had an attorney contact me. I am currently having to take legal action against the complex with regards to this matter. My friend who lived here actually broke his lease due to the poor build quality of the apartments. Poor build quality example would be power sockets and cable outlets with no wires in the wall behind them as my friend found out once he moved into his apartment!! I would highly advise against moving here especially if you have guests who visit like myself and get towed whilst parked in the guest parking areaAgain I contacted the CEO with regards to an Illegal tow and they set an attorney on me so DO NOT MOVE TO THIS COMPLEX!!!!!!!!!!!Just to be clear there are no lines on the ground for a guest to be aware you cant park where I did. Rather then admit they were at fault they are stating I should have known not to park in a corner spot!!
I recently moved in to Tate on Tanglewood. My leasing agent, Nicole Bembridge, was there for me every step of the way. I’m not a ‘details’ person and I need a lot of hand holding. She was patient, courteous and beyond helpful. I’m grateful! Thank you Nicole!!
The fire alarm is a BIG BIG BIG problem, starts beeping out of nowhere in the middle of the night mostly.Since i moved, that happened around 6 times and only one was for real fire, i mean, im glad theres no fire the others 5 but its extremely annoying.Hope they can fix it because the installations are comfortable and the club house super pretty.
I’m so glad I read the reviews! It’s unacceptable to pay rent and be unable to get things fixed in a timely manner, no noise control with dogs or otherwise, no sound wall on the HEB side and shady practices taking peoples hard earned money all the while knowing they will not be accepted. I’ll pass!
NEVER lease at this apartment. It looks nice and may be what you want within the area BUT management is supreme TRASH. I applied for a unit that fit my luxury needs but was later told that due to water damage from a pipe bust that they will give me another unit. Literally, my locator and I were tag teaming the office to give us an answer on a unit to have me sign a lease with a comparable square footage.I applied for it and wanted to sign the lease. It took 3 weeks to be sent a lease. I took that as a sign with the back and forth combination and let it go.Do not rent here the reviews are TRUE!
The leasing agent took great care of us! great property, staff and great location. we’re looking forward to making this our home in the near future! :)
Theft in the parking garage is rampant. They stole my rims and tires within hours of me parking, $3,500 to replace them and the complex will not cooperate to provide security footage to police. They also refuse to get security. At least 4 or 5 cars a night get the wheels/tires stolen, yet the complex does NOTHING. Dont stay here unless you plan to sleep in your car.
This is an awful place to live. The apt may look nice, but I promise you that it’s all a hoax.Management is terrible, don’t ever expect them to answer the phone. And when they do answer, your problems are never solved. I don’t ever feel safe, because there have be MULTIPLE break ins. Parking is a joke. There are more reserved spots than regular ones. So exspect to pay an extra $50 a month to park on your floor. This place is a joke. I’ve seriously never been so upset living somewhere.Save yourslef the money and find a different apt.
Today I went out to my car in the parking garage and realized I accidentally left my headlights on last night so my car was dead. I decided to call the front office to see if maintenance had jumper cables and could come help me out. I let them know that I was not expecting anything, just wondering if they could! The lady on the phone put me on hold and contacted them. When she came back on she let me know someone would come up there and help me out. She said it wasn’t something they usually do so she recommended I write a good review! I totally agreed, I appreciated them coming to help me! However, 30 min goes by and no one comes. I decide to call the office because I needed to get to work and just needed to know the status of everything. A different lady answered, put me on hold and came back and said “oh they don’t have anything to help you with.”So I’ve just been sitting up there wasting 30 min of my time waiting on nothing. Next time just let someone know you can’t do it! Extremely frustrating and here’s yalls review! You’re welcome!
Raymond was extremely helpful with resolving my issue. He was patient, kind, understanding, and thorough throughout the entire process.Raymond, thank you for making me feel at ease with my transition into Tate!
Beautiful community in a great location! Maria and the Tate team is amazing. Their hard work makes all the difference and it’s showing in this community. I love it! ❤️
👎 This is the worst complex I have ever been at Changing management every two months and the staff act like they don’t know anything about the management was before them. Anything you ask them they be saying it’s not our fault this was happening before we took over and the maintenance is really bad this is our third day without electricity we called our provider and they checked everything the problem is in the complex and also the elevators none of the elevators work parking spots are horrible they take money for everything but they don’t do nothing. they don’t collect trash and they take $30 monthly for that.I don’t RECOMMEND this place for nobody.
