Your guest suite is a wonderful option for families who travel to Houston to visit residents of The Flats at West Alabama. The attractive suite is completely furnished with a TV, linens for the king size bed and towels, basic kitchen items to prepare a meal and a washer and dryer. Its conveniently located so access to the elevator quickly connects you to the residents youve come to visit. Its reasonably priced and so much easier than staying off the property in a hotel and having to drive over every time for a visit. The staff is welcoming and easily accessible. We look forward to a return visit.
Cesar provided my service yesterday to change an air filter. He was awesome! He always takes time to explain things and listen to myself and my partners questions. In a couple of words he is so good and the best! Thank you, Cesar for all your hard work and dedication to making our apartment enjoyable.
For my first apartment, I am so blessed to have found an apartment that pretty much fits all of my wants and needs. The staff is so welcoming and nice, and the amenities are great. I find the private room in the business lounge a perfect environment for studying and the club room a relaxing space to chill with friends/guests and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and coffee. Although I wish there were more machines in the gym, the space that they have is fine. The street in front of the apartment is rarely busy and the area around is very walkable surrounded by food places within a good radius. The management always addresses an issue as soon as they can which makes me feel assured as a college student. I cannot come up with a concern about this complex and recommend it as much as I can to others who are looking for an apartment in the future!
I couldnt be happier with my new apartment! As a college student, finding the perfect place to live was so important, and the staff here made the entire process seamless. They were incredibly friendly and always took the time to address all of my questions and concerns—whether it was about the lease, amenities, or any maintenance issues. Every time I reached out, they responded quickly and made sure everything was taken care of with a smile.The apartment itself is exactly what I needed—spacious, modern, and in a great location near campus. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure their residents feel comfortable and supported. I’m so grateful for their help and would highly recommend this place to any college student looking for a hassle-free, friendly living environment. 5 stars all the way!
Ive lived here for 2 years and have had a relatively great experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and other than the occasional elevator malfunction and garage gate not working sometimes I dont think theres a community that is as quaint as this one in the middle of the city. Its a great place to live!
Dont sign here, I lived here in a 3B2B unit for one year, and was charged for $1800 when moved out.The apartment charged us $800 dollars to replace all carpet. When we moved in, the carpet is not brand new. They sent us a table that calculates the age of carpet in some unexplained way, and asked us to be responsible for the carpet life lost. No matter how much effort you put to keep it clean, they charge you anyways.The management is also terrible. In last winter, there was severe weather in Houston, and one window in our apartment was cracked by the cold temperature. We informed the front desk about this and they told us someone will fix it. It turns out that nobody came and we were charged for $350 for the window.They charged us $400 cleaning fee, $150 for cleaning and $250 for ozone machine. We cleaned our apartment for almost one week, left all windows open for one week to refresh the air, and still got charged. They expected everything to be brand new. They also said that the ozone machine is necessary to remove the “smoke smell”. We don’t smoke and your apartment will have “smoke smell” if you cook. We were also told that some cleaning fees are for pest control, even though we paid monthly pest control fee and there was no pest control when we lived there.There is also no way to dispute. The staff of the Greystar is extremely rude. He ignored my emails and calls for 1 month. When I was finally able to reach him, he just sent me all the invoices, and then asked me to pay. He said that he only took care of the invoices and documents, which is saying that even the apartment charged you unnecessarily, as long as they have an invoice, you need to pay. He also refused us to dispute, and said that they will send our information to third-party collection if we don’t pay. After this, he hang up immediately and sent me a final reminder email about sending us to third-party collection. So in the whole disputing process, we were ignored for more than one month, only spoke with staff for less than 5 minutes, saw invoices for unnecessary charges, and received a final reminder.My final advice is: Don’t sign here unless you are or you have a lawyer. If you have already signed, mark sure you take as much pictures and videos as possible, before moving on and after moving out. Make sure you have records for any communications with the staff. In this way, hopefully you will get charged less. To avoid the additional air cleaning fee, I would recommend to keep some air sample for your apartment, if you are able to do this and this costs you less than $250. If you haven’t done any of these, good luck!
Where should I get started! From the beginning Cole had been amazing! He showed us the apartments, helped us apply, and has always been helpful and kind and communicative. He’s one of the best parts about the complex. 10/10 recommend communicating with Cole if interested in the property.
It was absolutely a delight meeting Ms. Flo during my visit to The Flats At West Alabama. She was professional, courteous, and personable while providing the information asked in order to schedule a tour of the property.On the day of the tour she explained what was going to happen regarding availability of units according to my moving date including unit pricing of the particular unit (s) touring. The tour was very informative about all of different amenities offered by the property. She was very knowledgeable of the process and makes the tour extremely easy to follow.Her customer service skills was exceptional 👏🏽 👌🏾 🙌🏿. Kudos to Ms. FloI really enjoyed touring the property.
I’ve been having ongoing issues with the smoke detectors in my apartment, and it’s been incredibly frustrating. The problem is clearly beyond just the batteries; there seems to be a wiring issue, but it seems as if the staff has not taken this seriously. Every time I report the issue, they only replace the batteries, and the problem persists. I’m not sure if this is just an issue with my unit, but I can’t imagine that this is normal. I’ve even tried emailing management about the issue, but every time, I’m directed back to the maintenance team, and nothing gets resolved. To make matters worse, it takes an incredibly long time for anyone to even address the situation. This is not only inconvenient for me, but it’s also affecting my neighbors as they can hear the alarm constantly going off. Not to mention, this could be a major fire hazard and safety issue if there’s an underlying wiring problem that’s not being addressed.
I have been living at FWA for about 2 months now, and have had an exceptional experience from the day we toured to now being a resident. Flo helped me from the beginning and continues to be there for me when I have questions. She was patient, communicative, and so helpful. The community itself is quiet, clean, and safe. I would definitely recommend living here!

THEY WILL TRY TO SCREW YOU over when you move out. Like every Graystar owned building, upon leaving, you will be billed an absurd amount of fees.It seems no matter how well you clean, you will get a fee for that and for things that you arent even responsible for. They tried to bill me 300$ for cleaning the AC ducts??Lucky I had a lawyer and after months of bothering me, they went radio silent when it was brought up how weirdly similar each invoice looked despite being from different companies.Moral of the story: TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOS BEFORE YOU MOVE IN AND WHEN YOU MOVE OUT AND SCHEDULE A WALKTHROUGH AND HAVE EVERYTHING ON RECORD, WRITTEN DOWN, CONFIRMED THROUGH EMAIL AND ALL DOCUMENTS COPIED.Back when this place was called Alta West Alabama, it was really nice because there were monthly events and the price was low and management really cared about you, but now...not so much.Graystar has a notorious reputation for screwing over their tenants and I wish I could say the people managing this place are different from the company but sadly thats not the case.The place is great, nice neighborhood, cool amenities, everything is solidly built, but terrible customer support, especially for its tenants.Dont bother even trying to reserve the garage port, that was a horrible headache to get through.Edit: Funny, if there was an odor present then it shouldve been stated in any of the past emails sent by you/Graystar, I wonder why this is brought up now and not after we asked for explanation of each charge brought to us, not to mention no one that I brought over ever pick up on such a thing.
This community is ran very well. Property is always clean. Parking is never an issue. Elevator always working and if it doesnt they fix it right away. Flo helped me with my move in. She is a gem. Greystar needs to give that woman a promotion lol. Honestly a great leasing team is what makes a great place to live in. The apartment itself is beautiful and thank God no issues so far.
Sommer and Flo were extremely energetic and helpful throughout the entire move in process and made me feel right at home. The finishes in the apartment are tasteful and all appliances are brand new. My wife and I could not be more excited to live here
Been living here since November 2022. Recently renewed! I love the location, the staff, the maintenance team! Huge shoutout to Cole for always going above and beyond! He’s been super helpful with everything since I’ve been here and always has the best energy! The office staff provides top notch customer service not only as a resident but also as a realtor who brings in clients from time to time! 10/10 recommend.
I’ve had a great experience living here and the staff is wonderful and the location is perfect! Cole was so great when we took a tour and very helpful during the move-in process. The whole process was easy and smooth and they don’t surprise you with a ton of extra fees which was so nice. Maintenance crew is amazing as well as everyone else in the office!
The new management expects you have have documents from the previous owners that was never giving to us. The staff takes review’s personal. I have a reserved spot in which I park my pressure washing trailer which is only about 7 feet and not taking up more space than a compact vehicle, and they claim it’s a storage component. I use it often but Lucy in the leasing office says it’s a storage device since i can’t drive it! Cars park all over without residential stickers and never get towed, but they worry about someone who is vocal and threatened to have my trailer towed. I would now move here! I’ve been here over a year and now they ask me to move it my last month staying here, seems kind of odd to me! These follow cars have no stickers, but aren’t towed for illegally parking!
I’ve had a great experience so far!! Especially working with Nelly Cantu, the Assistant Community Manager, who has been extremely helpful and accommodating with any question or request I have.
They will try to mess over you when you move out. And charge you a bunch of random fees that you already paid for and the best they say is called Greystar to dispute. They’re actually no help.
I am a current resident and overall my experience has been without major issues! The leasing and maintenance teams have been prompt and professional to work with.The only issue I had with my apartment was with my attached yard- there was glass scattered EVERYWHERE upon move in which I had to clean by hand, when I notified the leasing office they only offered an explanation but no assistance. It’s been a few months since I’ve moved in and due to the lack of grass in my yard, drainage has caused the ground to weather and more and more glass just keeps coming up. This isn’t really the communities fault but it is not mine either and it not what I expecting paying extra for a yard unit, especially when I have a small dog that goes out there.I do also agree with other reviews regarding the excessive amount of hidden fees at this community. Fees on top of rent is something I always inquire about and factor into my decision to move and while I was told about some of the reoccurring fees, it does seem like every month or even twice a month I’m being charged miscellaneous fees. Other services provided by other communities for free like replacement parking stickers are an additional $100 here.Other pros is the location is nice and safe. The community itself in my opinion is well maintained and I have had no issues with other residents or neighbors either.Things like this and the overall price I am paying will cause me to not renew here but I would recommend this property to live at to others.
The Flats at West Alabama is a phenomenal place! The area is safe, it has a great community, and Cole in the office went above and beyond always ensuring questions were answered. Coles attention to detail, commitment to customer satisfaction and enthusiastic personality made it a great experience. Ive been at the Flats at West Alabama for about two months now, and Ive thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Management has been very responsive and kind, shout out to Flo for always making sure we have everything we need and that our experience is seamless. I think the apartments themselves are gorgeous, I love the natural light and the modern finishes. Maintenance also tends to have a quick turnaround time and is so nice to the residents. I also have not had an issue with parking or safety throughout my time here and feel very comfortable at the complex; the amenities are also so nice and well-maintained. Every time I have friends over, someone always tells me that they need to consider moving over to this complex because of how nice it is. Im really happy I found this place, its perfect for students.
The new front office team is great!! Good attitudes and very helpful. The property manager, Summer, is very helpful and makes sure that requests are fulfilled in a timely manner. I recently transferred to a new unit and it was very smooth. She also follows up to make sure I have what I need. Also during my recent move from one unit to another, Flo and Cole, both leasing agents, worked really hard to ensure that my move worked out well. Flo even stayed late on occasion to make sure that I had what I needed. Cole, put up with my million and one questions and never complained. And the assistant manager, jumped in to resolve accounting problems without hesitating. So, overall, my experience was really good.
Went to tour this property, had an amazing experience with FLO! She was very well informed and a great personality, was able to make us imagine what it would be like to live there. All the public areas are well kept and look very welcoming, the area is very centralized without all the noise from the highways.
Ive been living here for about a year now and I just renewed my lease because this place has been awesome. The neighborhood is real quiet and feels safe, even at night. But its still pretty close to the freeway and all the stores and restaurants, which is so convenient.The building is secure - they got locks on the doors and the managers are always checking for any issues. Ive never worried about safety here.When stuff breaks (which it rarely does), like if my sink is clogged or whatever, maintenance gets it fixed fast. Usually within a day. They do good work and are always professional about it.The real stars here are Sommer and Nelly who manage this place. They go out of their way to make sure we residents are happy. Super friendly and willing to work with you on any problems. You can tell they really care that we have a good experience living here.I just renewed my lease because this apartment has been awesome. Great location, safe, managers who treat you like a person - Id recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in this area.
Never been happier with our choice of apartments. Although we faced a bumpy start with unexpected charges, Sommer and her team were incredibly patient and resolved everything. Maintenance issues were promptly addressed by Cesar and Data, who consistently went above and beyond. A concern about hallway odors was quickly resolved too. Despite slightly smaller apartment cuts compared to others in the area, the price and location make us extremely satisfied.
The apartments are just gorgeous and the management team is very dedicated to residents and future residents. They spent so much time helping us navigate every detail of adapting to these new surroundings.Sommer, Cole, and Catherine were patient and professional with my husband and myself, as we have not done apartment living in decades and we were quite needy when it came to executing all the necessary steps for the application. They also spent lots of time showing us how to use all the latest technology for getting around this complex. We are thrilled to be here, so close to everything. A superb location!
Best management in all of Houston! Sommer and her team are fabulous! Not only are they the friendly and courteous, they address any issues immediately. They all work really hard to upkeep the property and they are consistently trying to make this a safe and well-maintained community.I also love, love, love the location! Everything you could possibly need is just a short distance away and having Tiny Boxwoods across the street is definitely a perk!We have security guards watching the garage entrance at night which adds another layer of safety and makes me feel better when walking my dog at night.The only thing I can complain about is that, although all the residents are super nice and friendly, some of them are not very considerate. They tend to be a bit careless with their trash and they don’t pick up after their dogs. I do management is working on this so I am sure it won’t be a problem for much longer.Overall this is a great place to live and I will definitely be renewing my lease.
Recently signed a lease with The Flats at West Alabama and they made the process as simple for me as they could. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I mostly worked with Cole, who continued to help me throughout the whole process. So impressed with him and everyone else I spoke to in the leasing office. They are all so knowledgeable and understanding.
I didn’t like this place before (poorly built and my apartment was smaller than advertised, my shower was installed incorrectly, tons of gaps in floor etc..) but now Greystar is the new management it has gotten even worse. I have left 3, maybe 4, maintenance requests regarding my AC and no one has come by, i WFH so I would know. Further I have received no communication regarding rent, we don’t even have a resident portal. Counting down the days until I can leave.Further update: severe millipede (or centipede I don’t know) infestation. They are everywhere and have made it all the way to the top floor. No pest patrol has come, my friend on first floor can’t sleep their apartment there are so many.

The location is also convenient, with easy access to nearby shops and restaurants. I highly recommend The Flats at West Alabama to anyone looking for a five-star living experience with exceptional service.
I just toured this apartment complex today. Flo was very informative and very nice. She took her time to show us the units we were interested in and to show us the amenities. I really did appreciate her.
DO NOT SIGN HERE!!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! BEWARE!! We moved into the apartment in November of 2022 and moved out February of 2024. From the moment we moved in, we started having issues. From the non responsive management, unnecessary fees, safety concerns, elevator breakages, mildew smells, terrible quality materials, etc. The list of issues we had here is endless. On top of it all, we are now being charged fees for issues that are clearly documented on our move in form. Do yourself a favor and mark this apartment off your list because it is a terrible place to live and will save you a massive headache.
My experience at The Flats has been pretty chill overall. The property is very well maintained from the amenities to the hallways and even the parking garage. The pool vibes are dope and the property is super dog-friendly. The value for my apartment is literally the best in this area. Sommer is the best asset to this community because she’s always been super helpful throughout my entire experience here. Would recommend.

So far my stay at the Flats at West Alabama has been amazing! I really appreciate Cole and how he is willing to always go above and beyond when assisting me. Whenever I have questions or concerns he responds back to me in a timely manner with a solution in place. This is a great property and I have enjoyed my time here.
The team is top tier and is definitely the reason I leased here. They are so welcoming and personable. Everything is well maintained and my apartment was absolutely perfect when I moved in. I am looking forward to the upcoming events as well as exploring the area.
I would not recommend FWA or any Greystar property for the following reasons:- Freight elevator was constantly broken. Longest outage seemed to run around 6 wks but there were multiple shorter outages throughout.- Stick on flooring repeatedly peeled up after multiple unsuccessful attempts frommaintenance to repair it.- Package delivery was a headache. You have to pay an additional fee for a 3rd partydelivery service so FWA staff doesn’t have to deal with packages.- Cheap countertops/walls. Both easily scuff at the slightest touch and are difficult to fix.- Constant ongoing construction throughout our stay - additional eye sore.- Vehicle break ins - They hired a security guard at one point but it was for only a shorttime before I stopped seeing them on property.- Poor electrical circuitry - Anything more than 1 appliance running in the kitchen seemed to frequently trip the circuit breaker.- Water filter replacement used to be a covered maintenance request but they now charge you for it - additional unnecessary fee- Courtyard noise level - during the summer, residents frequently were blasting music inthe courtyard way past curfew. Not a huge deal if it was the weekend but it frequentlyhappened during the work week.- We accidentally put our trash out early (honest mistake). FWA Asst Mgr allowedsomeone they were touring to throw trash in our bin and still proceeded to charge us forplacing it out early.- FWA Asst Mgr accidentally unlocked our door - they did not notify us about this until we contacted them out of concern for our safety- Multiple rent payment platform changes throughout our stay - additional headache trying to rush and get your bank hooked up every time it changes to avoid getting a late charge- Sink collapse - woke up one morning to our sink caved in with nothing more than a fewtupperwares in it(see picture). Spoke with another resident who had the same thing happen. According to maintenance this is a pretty common occurrence.- Door to the garage consistently did not have its handle (see picture). Forced you to stickyour hand inside and attempt to not cut your hand on the sharp metal.- Management - they’re difficult to get a hold over via email/phone. The handful of times Iwent down to the office at opening they wouldn’t arrive for at least another 20 mins.- Move out - maintenance yelled at us for parking our Uhaul in the loading bay even after we had booked the timeslot multiple weeks in advance- Move out fees - spent roughly 6 hrs cleaning and still received notice of additional feesrequired. FWA will shrug you off to corporate (Greystar) to which they just asked the apartment what they think and then promptly declined our claim despite having documented these issues on the move-in form.Extremely disappointed in our experience with FWA and Greystar.
This has been a great experience for me. I’ve loved working with Sommer throughout her time here. The current management has done an excellent job reviving the complex and keeping it at a high standard of living. I’m currently transitioning into a house, but would highly recommend The Flats if you are tired of apartment life. They make it feel like home. ❤️
RENTERS BEWARE: TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES AND KEEP YOUR OWN RECORDS OF ISSUES/COMPLAINTS!I have never regretted anything more in my life than moving to Houston and living in these apartments.The management has changed repeatedly and in the midst, documentation of building issues was lost. This is on top of living in an unsecure building for 2 years with car break-ins and homeless persons sleeping in the lobby. Frequent fire alarms sounding, and constant construction on and around West Alabama.I have had nothing but issues since day one, when I was greeted with an apartment soiled by construction, doors with no locks, no working washer or drying, and water that reeked of sewage.Now that I have left, I have been given a $350 dollar additional clean-up fee to replace carpets that never should have been used in the building. The building was/is poorly built and it has taken current management over a year to even try to fix things, but somehow the tenants were supposed to maintain perfect units.I have never had an experience at a complex like Ive had here.
No security cameras in garage, I’ve noticed this is becoming more common weekly here and will affect the property occupancy numbers soon. no peace of mind in this place anymore. Thieves need to be put away!

The manager, Sommer Anderson, and Cole, the agent, did a wonderful job at ensuring that the transition to the community was seamless. They were incredibly professional and clearly in charge. I really appreciated their assistance. They definitely want what is best for the community. It was a great experience and I highly recommend the Flats at West Alabama!!!!
My tours and leasing experiences have been great. The leasing office team was able to fit me in last minute to tour several units and was super helpful answering all of my questions. Sommer is very friendly and has helped me through every step of the leasing process. We are very excited to be moving into this community.
The leasing team I met with, Catherine and Cole, have been extremely helpful!I was urgently needing to tour a unit that had just gotten on the market during the middle of that day, even though the appointments were all booked up. Thankfully, the team was able to communicate back and forth with me throughout the day, and made time for me to get in that last minute tour!From there, they were very kind and informative on all pricing and details about the property which made things perfectly smooth.
Living at Flats has been a great experience so far! The staff has been super friendly and the building is very well-maintained. We worked with Cole and he was super flexible in helping us get settled into our new home.
I moved here from Dallas and I’m very happy. I got everything I wanted with snazzy amenities, great neighbors, 10 mins from downtown, and an overall fabulous building. The maintenance team is quick and efficient. The leasing staff is friendly and helpful. The building is always kept in great condition. Sommer is a gem at this property.
Update: One of the top qualities of Flats at West Alabama is the awesome customer service that the manager, Sommer, gives. She gave us our tour and she was one of the biggest reasons that we actually chose this apartment.She called and assured me that she would help us out with anything we need as it pertains to Greystar sending us to collections. We paid the bill as soon as we got it, so we will not go to collections. However, it was nice to know that good customer service from the office still exists. Hopefully, Greystar is able to figure out their move out billing issues so that this does not happen to another resident after moving out.Previous review: We had never missed a payment and paid all of our early termination fees of about $3000 without any issues. The Flats at West Alabama sent us our final move out bill of $16.49 which we paid 4 days after receiving it. The final move out bill was both mailed and emailed to our addresses and accounts, so we had proper correspondence and had no problem paying. We thought this all ended in April.To our surprise, we received a collections notice about 2 weeks ago stating that we owed more move out fees of about $396.01 with a previous credit of $138.11. This collections notice that was sent 8 months after we paid the final move out bill. They never tried to notify us about adding new charges to the final move out bill.We were always on time with our payments and were always compliant with the apartment. We obliged to paying all necessary fees and would not have had any issues paying any move out fees. This is awful as we have never been sent to collections before and it is completely unfair to treat former residents like this.
Had a tour here and it was amazing! Cole was very nice and a great tour guide any questions I had he was able to answer them. The units are beautiful and the property is very clean and the staff is very friendly and caring! Would highly recommend this property.

Ive been here for a month and I love it. Kind management, quiet residential environment and many convenient facilities around. The kitchen and interior facilities in the apartment are also clean and nice.
Never have I been denied for any apartment for my 10 years living in Houston. My background check is great, my rental history as well, but they denied me because of pending immigration status, where my husband is american citizen. Well, complex being racist:)
First I would like to say that my first impression was a good one. Upon arrival to the residents it was quiet and the grounds were clean and well manicured.The office staff was very professional, and knowledgeable of the facility and rental/lease process.Everything was explained and there was no pressure.The move in and access was plus, the loading dock and the positioning of the elevator made moving in a breeze.The amenities such as the clubhouse, weight room, pool area, sky box I guess you would call it are always well maintained and accessible.Safety and security seems to be a priority and I really love that, I can rest at night without worry.The location and access to the freeways and all the happening spots and so convenient from this location. I feel at home and I love it.
Sommer is a great building manager. Incredibly professional, dedicated and really takes care of us as her residents. The leasing agents are also incredibly fast, friendly and attentive. My entire experience at The Flats at WA has been incredible with absolutely no complaints. I heavily recommend if youre looking for a clean, conveniently located, and all-around great apartment in Houston.

The Flat at West Alabama is a chic and comfortable apartment complex conveniently located in a vibrant neighborhood. The flats is an amazing community. When I fist got there it was a lot that I was unhappy with how things was ran etc but I can honestly say ever since the new management Ms Sommer has been there there big a major change in everything fromThe upkeep, security cameras, over night security over night, and better communication between staff and tenants. The flats is a beautiful place/ community and I have to say thank to Ms. Sommer the change she has accomplished in the little time she has been there has made me very grateful to be a tenant at the flats at west Alabama. I’m over pleased with this move I made here and honestly grateful to be a tenant. I highly recommend the flats.
My fiancé and I have been living here for 2 years and love it! The location is exactly what we wanted living in the city. We can walk to dinner spots, coffee shops, and much more!The property is new and we love our apartment with a yard for our dog. The amenities are perfect for us as well. The management also hosts resident events monthly that are a fun way to meet your neighbors. I highly recommend!
I love this apartment complex. My friend recommend it for me and I came by to check it out and I loved it. The whole leasing office was very professional and very helpful Cole, Kat and Summer. Any problem I had was taken cared of in a timely manner. Will definitely recommend for anyone looking to live in a luxury complex. Great location and very clean and modern.
I moved here 2 weeks ago. Gabrielle helped me over the phone even when I still lived in Dallas. They allowed my multiple calls and did not mind when I called to get clarification.I got a full tour of the facility when I arrived. Beautiful amenities they are to die for!! You have everything, a state of the art gym. Beautiful pool with TV’s and lights for the nighttime. A sky room where you want to kick back and relax. Also, even a business office with 20 free prints a month. Very nice and convenient for someone like me who always has something coming up. Lastly, I love my apartment it’s gorgeous. So glad we moved here.
I have tried to call (left a message) and email this complex multiple times and have not received a response or call back. I even sent the manager an email since I found it in her response to some of the reviews here. It really sucks because this place is in a great location and looks really nice online, its affordable and they have tons of availability but apparently that is all too good to be true. It really seems as if they could care less about attracting future residents.I am relocating from Dallas and even traveled to Houston a month ago (and after not being able to get in touch with anyone) decided to just walk in and was turned away by a woman sitting at her desk as she said she didnt have any appointments to tour and they also did not allow self tours. She didnt look busy to me and looked at me as though I was inconveniencing her with my presence. Even my locator said it was strange for an apartment to turn someone away. I would have preferred a rushed tour if that. They did have an appointment two days later, but unfortunately, I was only there for two days. It would have been nice for her to take two minutes and give me some print outs, details, SOMETHING.I was already sold on this place from researching online and all I really needed was a kind leasing agent to make me feel as if this place home. After returning home, I continued to try and call and email the complex to no avail. I ended up leasing at another place nearby which provided amazing customer service from beginning to end. I wouldnt waste my time here - looks nice but the service is definitely off.
Flats is a decent apartment complex. They have nice modern interior, spacious rooms, and a positive atmosphere. There are a few cons like the construction, guests parking on the wrong floor leaving no parking for tenants, and the thin flooring causing you to hear your upstairs neighbors every step. Other than that, the complex is pretty lax and chill. Front office is welcoming and so are the tenants. Flats is close by different active parts of Houston; Downtown, Galleria, Memorial, Washington etc. these areas are about 10-20 minutes out. Flats have a nice pool area, gym area, and valet trash pickup. This is only my 2nd complex but I still give it an overall good recommendation.
So many things to love about The Flats at West Alabama, from the sweet management staff that have welcomed me with open arms, to the timely response from the maintenance team, this community has been a great place to live during my transition back to Houston. Ideally located in the heart of River Oaks, dog friendly, coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. Apartments are bright, full of light and very well maintained and best of all a safe, quiet peaceful building.
The hospitality here is amazing!! I did a simple viewing and the leasing agent (Flo) was so amazing!! She was patient, informative, asked the right questions, knew her surroundings, and even offered me something to drink! I appreciate everything! Looking forward to leasing with you!!

You cannot get a better location and management team than Alta West Alabama. Being in the heart of the city means easy access to all of the great restaurants, local bars, Whole Foods, spas and so much more. When I was searching for a new apartment the entire office staff made the process seamless and move in day was not as hectic as I have experienced in the past at other communities. Normally there is one team member that stands out but I must say EVERYONE was great....from the Maintenance staff to the Property Manager, Laura. I highly recommend this community if youre looking for a hands on team and great location!!
Even though I decided to lease at another property, I would like to rate my tour experience. Flo was wonderful, informative and offered great customer service.
Context: Lived here for a year and a half. Work in the medical center.Pros:1) great location2) easy to get high walking through the halls3) didn’t have my car broken into4) the electronic locking doors fail to work sometimes, so it’s quicker to get in to your apartmentCons:1) you are a number. Once you sign that lease you pay them money. From then on you become nothing but a recurring payment.2) constantly getting security updates about tires and cars getting broken into (look at other reviews)3) terrible management staff; maintenance crew however, was very friendly4) quite literally the least safe place in river oaks5) things break all of the time. Previous owners more to blame. Greystar just purchased it.Save yourself the trouble. Broke my lease for the first time in 10 years. Houston is filled with apartment complexes. Go find you a good one.Also, make sure to eliminate fake reviews when evaluated apartments. Always lots of incentivized reviews that will skew your long term rental choice.
Wonderful apartments. Lucila at the office was awesome. I had limited time to find a new place and because of work I didnt get a chance to tour in person before the move, but Lucila was very professional and responsive. We communicated back and forth via email and she took some time to send me detailed photos of the unit. She also made sure the unit was all set by the time I was due to move in.
Living at The Flats of West Alabama has been a great experience. I had an issue when I first moved in, Sommer was essential in helping me navigate the situation! Would definitely recommend staying here and working with Sommer and her great team!

I want to leave my last and final honest review. Our lease was up last month & we moved out abe moved into a house. So Our year stay at the flats had its up and downs. The down parts I believe were due to the last minute management take over after our first month of being there & because they were a mess it was pretty hard to clean up the damage they did, what I can say is I have faith in this property because of Sommer who is the property manager. She really went out her way to help me with all and I mean all my concerns. I am very happy that we have received almost all of our deposit back. We paid a very high deposit & from my experience with apartments they will try to eat your deposit up if they can. They charged us 150 for simple ware and tear and then a little over a hundred dollars for our final utility bill & that was it. I was 100% satisfied with that. Usually you get your deposit back within a month. It hasn’t even been a full month and we already received and deposited our refunded deposit. Sommer is such an awesome manager and given time this property will be flawless. I manage at dental office so I know how hard it can be to run business. I could only imagine difficulties behind running an apartment complex so again thank you Sommer and I would definitely recommend living here. No apartment will be perfect but you should want to live in a place where the management actually cares.
Everything at The Flats has been nothing short of amazing. The front office personnel are super friendly and helpful, especially Flo. She helped make the application process so easy and was there to answer any and all questions that I had. 10/10 amazing.
If I could give this place a NO star I would they rob people. Make sure when you move out you film and record the whole property you are leaving because they will find a way to retaliate and charge you for things that are not damaged!!!
I recently toured here and was very impressed by the customer service and overall experience. This complex is new, clean and very nice. I like that they are dog friendly! Gabrielle was extremely helpful and informative. I just moved back to Houston and Gabrielle told me about all the great places located nearby! I love that a dog park is just minutes away. Hoping to sign a lease here soon.
Moved in August 2022 and have no complaints so far. Management has been super helpful whenever Ive needed them. Ive posted one maintenance request and it was fixed the next morning. The new management is quick to improve amenities when they see issues (package room).I was worried about the google reviews mentioning millipede infestations and loud neighbors, but Ive been around a decent portion of the complex and have never seen any evidence of either of those claims. Pretty happy overall.
If youre looking for a sweet and kind leasing specialist, Gabrielle is your person! She kept me posted on when the apartment was available to tour and when I arrived for my apartment tour, my overall experience was great! Even though the apartment is not fully completed yet, Gabrielle was able to show and explain to me all the things I needed to know before I make any decision. With the construction going on, everything still felt clean and tidy! 10/10 would recommend
I was able to take a tour of this location with Antoine and to say it was a wonderful tour would be an understatement! As a first time renter, he made sure I understood every part of the process. My partner and I were excited to come tour this property, but our tour guide seemed so disinterested in us and the tour that we ultimately crossed this property off of our list. I can’t recall if he told us his name at any point and he didn’t provide us with his contact information.This property is very nice and in a good location, even despite the road construction that is happening. If we would have had a staff member who interacted with us instead of staring at his phone, we more than likely would have signed a lease. The guy we toured with seemed so annoyed by our presence and the few questions that were asked that we decided against this property. Additionally, we contacted our apartment locator to ensure that future prospective residents are prepared for a lackluster experience.
Nelly was an absolute blast! I had a great tour with her. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to lease with them because of availability, and although I didn’t lease with them I still recommend y’all tour with them!

She is an excellent Professional leasing consultant with strong knowledge of the building as well as the process of becoming a new resident . She makes you feel right at home.

It is also a brand new property, so being the 1st person to live in a unit adds to the appeal. So glad my apartment locator recommended this place! :)
I showed up a few minutes before closing, and Antoine was really great about staying late to give me a tour. He had no problem answering all of my many questions and he gave me a tour through all my possible layout options. He was very helpful in helping me decide which layout would be best for me between the ones we toured. Customer service is a big thing for me and Antoine was amazing. The complex was beautiful and offers plenty of layout options. It’s brand new and has a lot of nice amenities, including a nice study room. Between the complex and the great customer service I will probably be signing a lease here.
Just wanted to give a 5 star review especially to the manager Sommer! She really goes the extra mile to help in any way she can, and her attentiveness is on par. I would say she’s a major blessing to this apartment complex.
I toured here recently and can’t speak enough about my experience. The esthetics were amazing and very clean, which I like. Gabrielle was super welcoming and helpful. I’m moving from cypress to be closer to work and she told me about all the good places to eat around there, which is very helpful to a foodie like myself. I will definitely be moving here when my current lease is up.
Alta West Alabama is beautiful and the staff incredible. Gabby assisted us in finding our new apartment and was super helpful with giving us options that would fit our budget while also finding a new home that we would love. She was very communicative and speedy in answering all the questions that we had. Definitely recommending this place to all our friends who are looking for a new place. Cant wait to move in!!!
Nice Floor Plan, great location and amazing staff. However, Poorly built. The walls are super thin and you can hear every step, door shut, conversation above you. Fire alarms constantly go off, especially on the weekends. Several Airbnb are rented out of this complex. Sadly, after living here 2 months I already know I won’t be renewing my lease.
My experience with Sommer was exceptional! I toured with her yesterday and I really appreciated her thorough walk through of the property. She’s super personable and is great at what she does! Her community looked amazing and the location is a plus!
Great brand new property! I had a pleasure of working with Gabrielle and she was extremely knowledgeable about the building, very nice and personable, and made the process smooth and seamless. The property has lots of technology upgrades, modern neutral finishes and very competitive pricing for the area! It has been a week here since we moved..we loved everything about it. We moved from different state and was looking for apartments when i came across Alta West Alabama we liked the apartment and location.The security is good here and no problems with parking at all.The staff was very helping and friendly especially Antoine . Honestly it wasn’t easy but After searching for lists of apartments and reading all the reviews of other apartments I was worries if I will find a good and secure apartment for my family but Now I’m so happy that we found it…If you’re reading the reviews this is you’re sign to get this luxury apartment and enjoy the prime location…
I moved into this apartment building back in February 2022. Since moving in the toilet in my master bathroom does not flush toilet paper down. I currently pay almost 4000 a month rent for my three bedroom unit and I don’t even have a working bathroom in my master. Even since taking over the apartment complex three months ago the issue still is ongoing. After 2 1/2 months of asking for them to fix it and me and my children using one bathroom or having to go downstairs and use the restroom by the pool the apartment complex still has not fixed the issue. After I went into the office and refused to pay rent they attempted to fix the issue and put a new toilet in and the issue is still not fixed. Also my wash machine was out of service for 2 1/2 months and they said that I would have to wait for the parts due to Covid. And recommended laundromats in the area. When I said I wasn’t going to pay rent they made sure they fixed the washer within 24 hours. As of today I still have no working toilet in the master bathroom. Also they told me when they brought the new toilet two weeks ago that they were going to clean my master carpet because they got toilet water and fluids all over the master carpet and that still has yet to be done. Do not even consider moving into this apartment complex look at greystarr stars reviews. 2.1 And the only reason right now it says four. Five here is from the old property management company. Move somewhere else and save your money and a heartache they could care less.
Mannn, this place is awesome. Great combination of style, design, amenities, location and price. I wasnt expecting to find such a good deal in the river oaks area, especially for a new build apartment complex. The move in special is what really made it a great value. As a bonus, they have events every once in a while that are bomb! They had free food from Kale Me Crazy, A Fitness boot camp AND they even had a mobile dog spa give residents pets free spa treatments. Fairuza, Gabrielle and the guy that dresses in the fly suits everyday all work in the leasing office and have given great service thus far.
I was extremely excited walking into Flats at West Alabama but was instantly greeted with subpar energy. I worked with the leasing agent, Danny. He was disengaged and uninviting from the beginning. It was one of two reasons I’m not deciding to move forward with this apartment. I would ask him questions and he would provide generic answers or reference me to call the Houston PD (911) to get my answers. As someone who is not from the area, I asked questions about how to protect myself or safety in the area as well as whether or not the apartment had families or younger demographic (i.e. near a college).The second reason was during the tour, the units I was shown were not clean. Stains and marks on the walls and one of the units had a dirty toilet that was used but not flushed. Danny did not apologize for this, however he did flush it and moved on.Once confronting Danny about his behavior and the way he made me feel during the tour like he didn’t want us here or didn’t care his energy became a little better.
My apartment locator told me how great of a team was at this apartment and she was totally right. Gabrielle and the rest of the team have been an absolute pleasure to work with. They answered all my questions promptly and went the extra mile multiple times for sure! I would highly recommend these guys.
I called them to set up a tour on Saturday. We scheduled something and they confirm it. Morning of, I call multiple times in the morning to confirm again and ask a few questions but no one picks up. The answering machine says: “thank you for calling, we are open but helping someone else.” So I show up, and even though the door to the leasing office is unlocked and google shows them as open, their hours posted outside the door say they’re open, and our scheduled tour is at that time: NOBODY is there. We waited and looked around and asked residents who passed by… but not a single employee is on the premises that we can find. It was evident by the state of the front desk that no one had been in all day either: chairs pushed neatly against the counter, no laptop or belongings set out , or anything. It was like the whole crew just didn’t show up to work that day at all… ? Oh yeah, and there were other people there who had scheduled tours like me, who were just as confused as me. We all just had to leave after being stood up, with absolutely no way of getting in contact with the apartment.
I came to tour with Flo and she was beyond great! I scheduled my tour the same day and regret I didn’t schedule it yesterday!!! I can’t wait to officially move to Texas!!!!! Not only did she welcome me to the flats she welcomed me to HOUSTON!!!!
Dont even THINK about signing a lease here until you read about my 90 day experience at the Flats.I stayed in an airbnb here for 3 months. You can decide for yourself if you want to live here or not.1. The person who lived upstairs was waking me up 3-4 times per week. The flats is very poorly built. You can hear a ton of footsteps from units above you. It sounded like a 500 pound person was jumping up and down. I suffer from insomnia and this def wrecked my sleep.2. The pool is quite noisy. You can hear it at night. Adds to the noise of the place.3. The staff has an attitude.4. My drain clogged multiple times. This place was built in 2021 and is falling apart. It took multiple visits from plumbers to clean the place. They said someone poured grease down the drain from another unit and it flew to my unit. My place stunk.5. The GFCI outlets kept tripping. I reported it multiple times to the complex. The repair guy didnt fix a think. I would hear the GFCI outlet trip 10X per day. I am not an electrician but this is probably not safe. They could care less about fixing this.6. The latch app I am not a fan of. Good luck if you lose power. lol The fob is superior unless you are an airbnb landlord.7. The air filter was dirty as hell. It was not replaced at all the first few years. Maybe the airbnb jocks fault8. The printer in the office didnt work. I needed to print an important business document and it was BROKEN. Like everything else at this place.9. The ELEVATOR was BROKEN 3 of the first 4 weeks I lived there. I was parking on the roof so it sucked to get to the first floor.10. The centipedes and bugs are real. When its warmer outside they are much more active. So expect bugs in the warmer months.All of this happened in 3 months!Its not a bad place if you are younger and tolerant to issues like this. But if you are older and pickier, STAY AWAY!
I have moved here in these past couple months, last night, they have stolen our car wheels and 4 other cars wheels too. The management is keeps saying they will install cameras in the garage but they haven’t done anything yet. Some other resident told me that the management is keep saying that they will install cameras since August but nothing yet. Also there is no security guards. If they don’t do anything about the security situation in a week or two I will break my lease and move out. Not safe at all.
I toured this place a couple weeks ago and was blown away by how beautiful the complex is. The rooms and amenities are all so modern and clean. Fairuza is the nicest lady and has made the entire process so easy for me. I knew as soon as I was done touring that I was going to sign my lease here, and Fairuza has helped me out every step of the way. I cant say enough good things about this place and I am so excited to finally move in next week!
Sommer has been amazing throughout the whole moving process, always responds quickly and even worked over time to make sure her clients are satisfied! Top tier property manager with excellent service, we are so content to have chosen this property!
Amazing place to live! And the pool and weight room is amazing! Staff is on point and fast reacting! And they host so many events for us, Friends Giving with a clothing donation for the homeless won my heart! And the location is perfect!

Just talked to a lady about potential leasing with this apartment complex and it was my worse experience! She was so rude! interrupted me! Didnt tell me anything about the apartment at all! Said you have to look it up yourself! Why you have phone number listed in the web site?!?! is it to get more info?!?!? So rediculous!In addition she hang up on me.
I have had a wonderful experience living at Alta West Alabama. I recently moved from Florida and Gabrielle was amazing in guiding me through the leasing process. Since living at Alta West Alabama, I have thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and my new neighbors. I am glad to call Alta West Alabama my home away from home.
Sommer and the entire staff at The Flats at West Alabama are friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. I greatly appreciate how quickly maintenance responds to requests. I enjoy the overall ambiance of the community and how well it’s kept.
My son accepted a job here in Houston, moving from California. He never toured Alta West Alabama before signing his lease. We relied on the expertise and knowledge of Fairuza, Antoine and Gabrielle via phone from California. they were so accommodating and reassuring whenever we called. We arrived on September 8th, welcomed by Fairuza and were absolutely amazed with the apartment and all of the beautiful amenities. We are so very grateful for all that they have done for us. They have gone above and beyond on so many levels.!!!

SO glad I came across this place! Its brand new and in one of the best parts of Houston (IMO). Gabrielle made this the simplest application process Ive ever experienced with an apartment complex. I live in a different state, so my roommate toured the complex with Gabrielle while I joined over FaceTime. Gabrielle was open to answering questions, pleasant to speak with over the phone, and very hospitable. She even helped us locate a specific unit and then sent over the application directly to my email, which took only 5 minutes to complete. Highly recommend, and Im looking forward to moving in!
My application was denied here supposedly due to me never contacting them prior to applying although I made it known when applying that I had a locator who toured me. I asked to speak with the manager several times and was told she would get back to me if she could. I definitely think there is some racial profiling going on here & im extremely displeased with the half service I received. The leasing agent stated that they have a lot of fraudulent activity from prospects so this means treat everyone as a criminal? Very distasteful & unprofessional

Location and amenities are great, as is the friendly Greystar management staff. The serious downside here is the cheap building construction and severe lack of noise insulation, which makes WFH and sleeping very difficult. Living on the top floor probably helps but the walls are paper thin. This is the fault of the original owners/Alta management but I know Greystar will do the best they can

Dismissive leasing staff. Unexplained fees every month. Cash grab after cash grab. There are so many apts in Houston, amazing they get away with what they do.
Although this complex is beautiful and we love this apartment, we constantly have issues with noise. The ceiling is super thin, to the point you can hear and feel every step, every door being closed and even every kitchen drawer being open. If you’re lucky your neighbors will be quiet, but if you are not, you’ll end up living next to an apartment featured on Airbnb and getting either nice people or really obnoxious ones. Airbnb’s are not allowed, but the leasing office seams to not have fixed the issue yet and there’s over 8 apartments listed.If you are on a first floor and you have neighbors smoking and throwing cigarettes and joints to your yard, apparently the leasing office can’t do anything too because I need to have seen them/they do it. Am I supposed to camp out all day or set up a camera? Picking up over 5 a day on my yard is a pain.
This is a great property and the staff is very friendly and welcoming! Every time I pass thru Flo, Cole, Nelly & Sommer are super nice! I leave with a smile on my face!
This place is absolutely amazing! I toured with Gabrielle and she was so informative and helpful! The floorplans our spacious and offer everything you could want in an apartment. I cant wait to call Alta West Alabama home!

Living here has been amazing. Love the environment and people in it. Nice amenities and its amazing they are opened 24/7 hrs. The people working at the leasing office are so helpful andamazing
The complex is safe, quiet and clean. I enjoyed the the tour here would recommend it to anyone. Gabrielle and the rest of the staff are phenomenal. My emails are answered almost immediately! Looking forward to complete the process

If you live out of state do not apply to these apartments because you have to physically bring in your ID and SSN the next day. Application did not say I need to be physically in state and apartments will not refund my application fee. Also they don’t answer the phone at any point of the day.
Cole was super helpful and gave us an excellent tour of the complex. He made sure we saw all our available options and helped imagine what it would be like living there.
I have absolutely loved being at the flats!! I have an amazing view from my apartment, and everyone who visits loves it! The staff is all very sweet and very accommodating as well.

Literally walked in an hour before closing and i was greeted by a beautiful woman (can’t remember her name 😔) & Antoine sat me down right away and proceeded to help me in the best way that he can. He answered all of my questions and we got straight to the tour. He showed me around & explained everything perfectly! 10/10 definitely recommend especially after a stressful day, this man and this facility was a BLESSING! Thank you guys again!

The staff is very responsive and professional. yes, they may not always be able to pick up the phone, because of the number of calls. but they always answer mailv. the complex is clean and comfortable.Highly recommend,Dariia
Right after our tour here at the flats at west alabama, we decided to apply to move in here! Cole toured us around the apartment, and he was very friendly and answered to all my questions!!
The manager Summer was awesome! This property is like living on a resort. She showed me several units and explained everything in detail.

Great location close to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, the amenities are great and the apartment has a lot of space, everyone has been very helpful.I believe the only issue is the noisy neighbors and there are no consequences but other than that is great!

This community is brand new and in the perfect neighborhood. We toured with Gabrielle and she answered all of our questions with no question. She mentioned it was across from Tiny Boxwoods and nearby is Levy Park. Those cookies are to die for!!

I recently visited this property for a tour and I was very impressed by the customer service and overall experience. Looking for an apartment can be stressful but the leasing agent who assisted me answered all of my questions and was very pleasant.

I went to view this brand new community in river oaks and i must say i like it a lot. Great location, the welcome and greeting i received was outstanding! They are definitely a new gem in the area.

Pros Very clean and quiet cons the pool is in the middle and sometimes it can get a little loud didn’t take pictures due to the privacy of the people
