Ed Sabo did a full home renovation and large addition to our Heights home and we couldn’t be happier. He was communicative, professional, and worked personally with us to create our dream home. He was present every step of the way, from meeting with architects and designers to final touch ups and completions. Ed was at the site everyday and kept us updated with pictures and videos through his app which was extremely easy to access and keep track of the project. His subcontractors were reliable and professional and we got to know them well along the way too. As someone who is very type A, Ed satisfied all of my personal wants and desires for everything to be perfect and timely. We found Ed through word of mouth and have recommended him to many close friends as we are very pleased with our home!

Sabo Custom Builders helped us design and construct our new home in Houston. They did a great job at all steps of the build.Casey was the project manager. He kept us informed every day during the build.From design to delivery, we were partners in the process. We have had the opportunity to work with Ed Sabo and his team on two separate occasions. In 2013, we had some cabinet and kitchen tile upgrades done, and we liked the outcome of the work, and the professionalism of the entire Sabo Custom Builders crew so much that when we needed more interior improvements done this year, Ed was our first and only contact. I recently worked with Ed when a client of his hired me to help her with some design work, and I was thrilled when I found out that I would get to work along side such a knowledgeable builder. Ed was in constant communication with us, always kept to the schedule and knew how to manage all of his workers. Late August of 2017, when we were first coming to the realization that we would be replacing our Harvey-damaged 1950s home, we were visiting friends in the area who had just moved into their beautiful new home and learned it was built by Sabo Custom Homes. The beautiful craftsmanship and incredible attention to detail that we saw there, along with the professionalism and personable nature of Ed and his team that was described to us left no doubt in our minds that this was the company we were looking for.Ed’s references led us to a wonderful designer and from that point on, through demolition and construction, every step was efficiently managed by Jerry, Sabo’s superintendent for our job. Jerry was constantly on site to manage the day to day activities and help keep the subcontractors on schedule. True to their word, every phase was thoughtfully planned so that the job site was secure and very rarely unoccupied. Jerry’s communication via almost daily emails with photos and updates kept us apprised of every detail so that delays could be avoided, even in spite of challenges with adverse weather during key periods of the project. His work ethic and attitude even when working following surgery were of extremely high caliber.Having heard of construction nightmares that so many others experienced, we were very thankful to have met Ed Sabo and entrusted him with the creation of our lovely new custom home which is a perfect fit to our lifestyle. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Ed Sabo and his project manager, Jeremy, on a completely remodeled two-story 1920 bungalow plus addition in the Heights. We received two other bids, and one builder told us to tear down the house and rebuild from scratch. We chose to work with Ed because of his professionalism, competitive bid, and personality. From the beginning, my husband said he felt like he could trust Ed “with just a handshake,” and we feel the same way now that the project is complete.Both Ed and Jeremy were patient with our indecisiveness and lack of knowledge about construction. Inspired by HGTV and the DIY Network, my husband and I had a vision of what we wanted but no idea how to get there. Ed and Jeremy discussed all of our options early enough that we could do our own research, and we never had to make a decision at the last minute.Pictures and a daily log were posted on the Buildertrend app for us to view each night, giving us confidence that everything was running smoothly. Jeremy, who we communicated with day to day, responded quickly to all of our texts and emails and happily answered our questions. We appreciated his positive attitude and sense of humor, which greatly decreased the stress involved in building a custom home.The final product has exceeded our expectations in every way. Neighbors and those just passing through have stopped by to compliment the house and thank us for not tearing it down. Some have even asked if we might consider selling. My husband and I are going to enjoy our beautiful new home for now, but we wouldn’t hesitate to work with Ed and Jeremy again on a future project.

Ed didn’t finish the job to full completion. The work he did was beautiful, but he left us with only 90% of the job done while I was pregnant with twins. Never again. Lots of options in the Heights over Ed!

Ed Sabo and his team are top notch. When you hire Sabo you get to let go of any of typical builder concerns. He is not going to gouge you, will do it right the first time if at all possible, will tell you if a mistake gets made and the way it will be corrected, and when all is done you will be happy. It does not get better than that. Oh. And I am saying that as both a lawyer and a designer who has worked with Sabo Custom Builders on a custom build of a new home and back house. Id give more than 5 stars if I could. So get your ideas together and get on his list as soon as possible. If you dont make decisions well or quickly, hire a designer.
