DON’T BUY COLINA HOMES. Colina house is built poorly, horrible workmanship, probably cheap labor. Less than a year in and our roof started leaking and yes we did an inspection before move in. Constant power outages. The roads around here are terrible condition. No amenities but paying HOA fees. Issues with spiders and ants in house. Wish we went with a different neighborhood/ builder for our first home. Disappointed since we just had our first child. Do yourself a favor and buy a David Weekley home. They’re building more homes in this neighborhood, I’ll be really surprised if these home sell. We can’t wait to move out of here. With the warranty, they only choose what they think should be fixed. Once you buy the house, it’s all your responsibility they said. All they want is your money. They said that people have been trying to contact me for the repairs but only one person has called me since putting these repairs in March. They listed all the repairs as complete and excluded some that I listed on the 2-10 website and nothing was fixed. As a first time home buyer, they really tricked us , wow we were naive, really wish we had more guidance, now we know what to look for when buying a home.

Colina is a quality home builder that offers a lot of value and affordable pricing. They have locations throughout the Houston Metro area and a wide variety of floorplans to choose your preferred home design.

We closed our home last December and have been very happy with builders representative, Wesley on all issues under warranty. He is very responsive to all our questions on warranty issues. He is very attentive, approachable and reliable , get any issues resolved as fast as he could. We speak highly of Wesley and he is an asset to any company. We are so lucky to have him as our go to person on behalf of our builder, Colina Homes.

Definitely proceed with caution when purchasing a home from this builder. Their warranty is a complete joke. They will pick and choose what they want to repair even if it is covered under the warranty. Also, flooring is not covered under warranty. So if you have hollow ceramic tiles or ceramic tiles that are cracking, the builder will not cover it

Colina homes was amazing. This is our first home and Jillian the sales rep. was friendly helpful and very positive. Rick the mortgage person was amazing answering questions at 7:00 at night on valentines day! Brittany answered questions and was so patient with us through the final approval. Then there is Wes the builder who addressed all our concerns quickly and efficiently on our final walk through when we pointed out a few minor things he had the taken care of while we were standing there. . I would recommend Colina to anyone.

Colina home warranty is bad! My cabinet draw opener broken drop down my mom foot when she opened! I email contact them but about a month already still not get fix yet! Regret when i choose and bought colina house builder

I closed on a home in Mill Creek Trails on 2-28-23 and wanted to share my experience with Colina Homes and the wonderful crew I worked with to make this happen for me.It started with Jillian Donalson my sales person. She is the nicest most attentive person you could find. Always there to answer all my questions throughout the entire process. My financial person was Mckenzie Fry that really worked for me to get the best rate and perfect timing to close. My superintendent on site in charge of getting the house built was Wes Gill. It was obvious to me that I had a real professional managing the extremely fast building of my house. Ive spent my whole life in the construction world and know what I am looking at. The walk through with Wes went smoothly. Relationships with your contractors equals things getting taken care of in a timely and thorough fashion. I’ve had nothing but a great experience with Colina Homes since I moved in February. Everything we agreed on was honored including the warranty requests. Since moving in Wesley has always responded quickly with any concern I’ve had and has been quick to schedule any repair request I had. The home is beautiful and Wesley has gone above and beyond for us.

We went to check the SUNTERRA community in Katy. Visited MULTIPLE builders… like a LOT! We narrowed it down to 3. Very difficult to pick one when they were all amazing. That’s when Jillian Donalson was key! She talk to us as a friend. She was very welcoming and nice.The very next day we were sitting down and signing a contract with her. Since that day until the completion of the house she was always in touch checking on us and giving us updates.

DONT BUY RUN! Owing a Colina home has been the most horrible experience. From the disrespectful realtor Ashley, to the rude forman Gary, right down to the owner Ken. Never been so disrespected by a group of people in my life. I bought a home with a warranty which seems like they pick and choose what they want to honor. I was locked out of my air conditioning. Air Innovations had locked the system not letting air go lower than 75 degrees. I had to void parts of my warranty after sweating and being up till 2am 3 nights in a row with my child to get them remove the lock so I could control MY air. That was only 3 days in. So the following week the tankless water heater flooded my garage with all my boxes and the brand new carpet I had removed from the home. Set to install in a rental property. Now, all ruined and no one cares. The paint is so cheap, you can literally lick your finger and touch the walls and it will melt off a word for word quote from Gary Walker the Colina Homes Forman. So I have a brand new house that needs to be painted from top to bottom floor to ceiling. Oh my favorite problem among the many. I literally have air coming in all the sockets. Imagine its cold outside, you place your hand infront of a plug, and cold air is coming in so forcefully that you can feel air in the shape of a 3 prong plug on your hand. So, now Im waiting for them to fix things I have entered in the 2-10 warranty and they sometimes just clear items like they have been done but infact not. So you get to re-enter everything again. Now if this wasnt fun enough. The builders are in full throttle. They are building left and right and they are having a freaking concert out there. Do you know how loud music is when inside the skeleton of a home, between two other brick houses? REALLY FREAKING LOUD! Your entire house shakes and vibrates all day long, sometimes 7 days a week, and I do mean all day. Sometimes they wait until 7am before they start. I can handle building noises but not the loud music and litter. And now they have damaged my driveway and are trying to say its not covered from there big trucks driving across my yard to the lot next to me. Every day its a new issue. They dont want to take accountability for anything or fix things clearly stated in the warranty. See you in court buddy. Save your energy and money. Look elsewhere.

We moved into our Colina home in June 2022. Our realtor found us our new home in Rosehill Meadow. Dora, Mitch and especially Wesley Gill, were all very accommodating.We didn’t have any major issues. Sure we had some cosmetic ones once we moved in, but I can honestly say, Wes came through for us. When he said he would show up, he always did and if he had to postpone the appointment, he would reschedule it at that time. Never did he once say, I’ll have to get back to you.” He even made sure the contractors showed up to do the warranty work and came by to make sure we were satisfied.I am very happy living in my new Colina home in Rosehill Meadow.

UPDATED ON 1/25/24: After posting my initial review I was able to get somewhere with getting things repaired. I posted my review on a Thursday and I had phone calls that afternoon with meetings set-up for the very next day!. It was amazing! Everyone showed up first thing Friday morning like they said they would on Thursday afternoon. I am still waiting on a few loose ends to get wrapped up but not in a negative way. More like we have to let the weather clear up before we can proceed forward. Pedro has been assisting us with getting things taken care of (thank you to him). Im pleased to have most everything completed. Like I said, once the weather clears up we will be able to get the couple other things completed.I give JP Seipel 5 Stars! We closed on our Colina Home in October. When we walked into our house we immediately knew that was the home for us. JP Seipel was great! He continues to help us with nay question we might have. That is extremely helpful! When we closed JP was on vacation and still took all of our calls and texts when things didnt go as planned. I was very appreciative that he helped us get things straightened out when he was supposed to be enjoying himself on vacation. Id also like to mention that JP is incredible at response time. That goes a long way with me!I give the warranty program 2 stars at best. As far as getting things fixed that are under warranty, that has not been a fun process. (This has NOTHING to do with JP, he was great!) Its a whole lot of waiting around for someone who might or might not ever show up. Its waiting around for people who are supposed to call you and never do. Its finding out that they didnt do a great job on some aspects of the house and now you have a wall with water behind it. Or even finding out that the contractor said they put something in, when in fact, they did not (this isnt a Colina issue in my opinion.)We absolutely love our home and our neighborhood. I just wish warranty wasnt so hard to actually be able to use. You work hard and pay a lot of money for your home and its a bit deflating when its such a struggle to *hopefully* get something repaired.

We recently purchased our first home with Colina Homes at Mill Creek Trails community. The first time seeing the model home was amazing, but the experience that we had with Jillian Donalson was even better and made our first time buying a home much more exciting. She was able to answer all of our questions and concerns and had a very positive attitude. She sold us right then and there. She was also very attentive and was quick to respond to any of our calls and texts. The houses themselves are very beautiful and spacey while also being very much more affordable. The upgrade options were very pleasing as well. As with every experience, not everything is one hundred percent perfect and were just a couple hiccups, but Jillian made sure to reassure us and helped fix anything.

The home buying process with Colina has been unbelievably smooth and enjoyable thanks to Jillian Donalson and Mitch! They both have been such a joy to work with. No matter how many questions we have bothered them with whether it be in person, call or text they always have a quick and thorough response. Out-of-state 1st time buyer, purchased a new “inventory” home in Texas City 9/2023. Sls rep Steve D is great!👍🏼Not one other thing about this experience is positive and I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from buying from this company or it’s affiliates. Here’s my story: Builder showed up 1.5 hrs early for the walk through. I mentioned not having walked the property yet but still I was persuaded into walking it together assuring all questions would be answered. Huge mistake on my part! The few things I pointed out as visual defects, he would respond “this is the way the homes are built”, or “that’s covered under warranty so you have time to file”, or my favorite “if you would’ve paid more for a custom home the work is done with better care“. For context I paid $300K and by the end of my loan I will have paid $1M.Mistakenly I signed off on pprwrk and here I am. Immediately upon move in, I noticed a number of cosmetic problems and submitted approx 10 warranty requests. Ten days after moving in, I discovered a ‘live’ exposed wire inside a bedroom. Glad I’m still here to tell you about it!In total I reported about 25 issues in two months and after resolving only a couple of them, suddenly in December the requests were closed, showing “completed”. After back and forth with 2-10 warranty company, they said I needed to resubmit everything because the builder advised I refused access to my home, which was 100% false. It gets better…I’m now four months here and this week I woke up to the smell of gas. After an emergency gas company call, and evacuation, it was found to be the furnace pipe connection (attic) was barely hand tightened and I’ve had a 40% natural gas leak (plumber responsibility).First a major electrical error, now a major plumbing error, neither could have been identified by a novice buyer, maybe not even an experienced buyer. Both are life threatening, potentially catastrophic to me, anyone here, pets, my new home, neighbors, and their new homes.I’ve asked to escalate these issues and talk with Management, left messages with the corporate office, no care of any return contact. The builder ignores what he doesn’t want to address. I could continue to share the lame details (the list is long) but overall I want to give caution to all potential buyers ⛔️ ❌ I don’t recommend, the bold face lies are endless, they obviously hire crappy trade workers and don’t care about their reputation or their customer’s lives.

I would not recommend this builder to anyone. I purchased a new home build last year. I have submitted all of my requests prior to the warranty expiration date. It is now been 3 months and the only people who has completed their portion of the warranty request is the cabinet company and the HVAC company. The builder does not comply with the warranty and does not contact you to arrange to fix anything. They are a joke. Door knobs have been falling off every door for months and they don’t properly place them in the first place. The flooring is lifting and they won’t fix that either even tho I confirmed with BRAD AND STEVE DYER before signing on the home that anything that needs to be fixed must be submitted prior to my one year anniversary of purchasing the home. I would never recommend this company to anyone. There are so many things that require them to come fix it since it was submitted prior to the anniversary date. What a joke.

Visited Colina Homes at Cypress Green this weekend. The sales person Paul Taylor was great. We are first time buyers and had a lot of questions on the process. He took his time with our questions and explained the buying and building process. Cant wait for our new home.

I recently bought a home from them April 2021. Everything looked fine at first. Once I moved in then all the problems came. You can tell the home was rushed to be built and closed on. ( I worked in the area so I watched them every week as it was built and they rushed to complete the inside in a two week frame time). Concrete separating, with pipes sticking out of the cement. Where the tile meets the wall, the chalking is half done exposing some of the end of the tile. Now the chalking is turning yellow. Patch up paint spots is seen on the wall and ceiling. (I guess this was their correction to the things I complain about when we did the walk through). Paint on handles, ceiling fans. Theres gaps between the door and frame exposing outside light. I had a water leak in the laundry room, they did come in and fixed it, but they never came back to complete the finished job of the frame for the cut out. Called several times, they stated they will send someone. No one has come yet. Its been 2 months already. Repairs needed has been put in the warranty system ( since several months ago), but no one has address any of the issues yet. Whats the purpose of a warranty if no one going to do anything. I can go on and on about all thats wrong with the home.Im very disappointed with them. So much is wrong with the home cosmetically that is looks like a rental home and the landlord just patched up stuff to rent to someone else, not a brand new home.

Our experience with Colina Homes was great! Every item that we requested to be repaired before closing with the exception of 1 was completed. Closing was easy also, only took a hour and after closing we picked up our keys from the office and that was it. Jillian was very nice and professional during the entire process. We’ve been in our home for 3 months now and the only issue so far is our granite counter tops were not sealed properly and water was causing stains. We called Jillian because I couldn’t reach anyone at the warranty office and a week later someone was here to repair the counters.I do agree the HOA and Warranty office need to improve their customer service, it’s not good at all! We received a bill from HOA in June and I’ve tried to call just about every day, to speak with someone about the bill, and no one has returned my call. It’s now July, 26, 2020 and no one still hasn’t returned my call. So improvement with customer service is needed. Other than this issue I would recommend Colina Homes.

The colina homes in Splendora fields is updated and very good starter homes for small families and first time home buyers! I love my home and the neighborhood is amazing! I love the flooring, the granite counters tops, large cabinets. However, I do wish there were drawers in the master bathroom! Its easy access to 59. Very good location. Mike is an amazing builder and if theres anything that needs to be fixed..even after you had closed on the house he will get you taken care of!

Awful experienceIt has been 9 months since we signed it, the house not even built, they don’t update for the delays or anything,I chose a Lot and they took it away, I was told they were going to set up the construction units on my Lot( I found out later the real reason,They were having issues getting the permits to do construction there)I have to chose another lot, got the approval over the summer but they didn’t start the construction of the house, they are having issues with the permits and not having the houses on time, after all this they want me to move to another lot where they have a house already built, because again they didn’t built on my second chosen lot.I personally didn’t like the ones they were offering for the 3rd time.Also we don’t qualify for the loan anymore and they are refusing to give me my earnest money back.If you are looking to buy a house with them make sure you are prepare to wait for the construction without having an idea on the closing date, and be prepared to have a hard time getting your earnest money back if you don’t qualify.I meet several sales associates, because I went to see few communities, only one person was very kind, the rest of them only were nice at first to get me to buy with them after all we went through with this the sales persons are not willing to assist us anymore with our refund.Very sad!!

I’ve been searching a new home for a while, and found Colina Homes in Magnolia. Very impressed with all the standards. Jillian was really knowledgeable about the lending options, and it was helpful to know that Colina Homes can help me with restoring my credit. Definitely check this builder out!

I signed a “proposal “ to purchase a home with Colina in 3/21. I call it a proposal because it’s not a contract; they can cancel for any reason or no reason. Upon signing the proposal I asked the salesperson many questions as any anyone would who’s making their 1st home purchase. This is not an exaggeration the salesperson either lied or omitted key information about ever aspect of the build. Understandably timelines where unpredictable during the height of Covid but, it doesn’t take a year to build a normal track home per the new foreman. The old foreman was fired for incompetence. Dickinson Tx suffered a really bad flood a couple years prior so upon purchase I asked about flood prevention measures and flood insurance prices. The salesperson lied to me and said we would get regular flood insurance rates since they build the homes 15ft above the flood line. This lie in the beginning ultimately put the final nail in coffin but, there’s more. The home was to be completed 7/21. Since Covid had timelines in disarray the builder said 120 days after permits. The permits was obtained in the beginning of May. Building didn’t start till late July. At this point I knew the home was not going to finish in September. Then at the beginning of August I get a call from salesperson saying they canceled my faux contract and was raising the price 30k. Floored by the news my initial thought was to hell with that house but, upon further examination it was still a decent deal for square footage. So I signed a new faux contract with reassurances the house would be finished before the end of the year. I went to their lender because a course they offered incentives. The lending agent I had was incompetent and unprofessional. He missed calculated my loan (3) times. He said I qualified for program that I didn’t when I specifically said I make too much money for program. Never the less we went forward with loan since there was really nothing out there compared to the home I was building. Work would start and stop over the month; all the while interest rates are steadily rising. In the beginning of December the home is about 85% finshed I’m trying to lock rate. The lender said he couldn’t until he gets word from builder so, I speak to salesperson and she said we are waiting on cabinets I’m like cabinets are in. I remember her saying when cabinets are in we’re 30 days out thus I could lock my rate. So after she gets off her a*# and checks on house it almost done. I then locked rate at 3.75 which isn’t that bad considering how fast things had changed. I also received my estimated mortgage from incompetent lender $2395 keep in my when I originally signed my estimated mortgage was 1900. I was ok with that since in the beginning I knew my max mortgage I was comfortable with was $2400. The home is now finished 11 months later and I’m (3) days before closing. During final walk through I asked salesperson when would receive clear to close? She said she would call lender keep in mind one of the incentives is 1st year homeowners insurance paid by builder. Lender calls me to tell me the flood insurance came in high and I need to add wife to loan. FEMA flood insurance is $2500 a year basically adding $200 to payment per month . This through off my debt to income ratio. So I tell lender give me the new numbers with my wife added to loan. With interest rates still rising and higher undisclosed flood insurance that I asked about in the beginning the new mortgage is now $2800 per month which is way over budget and almost a $1000 over original payment quote. No professional builder could be this off; their mistakes cost me probably 50k in rising home prices and another 100k in interest payments. If they was upfront in the beginning I would have bought a inventory home from them. Stay away from theses incompetent, lying, unprofessional people. They done this to many people in my area Colina do not deserve to be in business stay away. Also the home was clearly rush paint and trim was terrible. The floors were coming up terrible craftsmanship. Don’t buy from them.

I cannot recommend this builder. We purchased our home in the summer of 2017. The salesman promised our house would be ready in June but it took an additional two months to get the house ready. Once we moved in we noticed multiple things wrong with the construction. The first and most obvious was the crooked wall near the entryway. The wall was extremely crooked and it took the builder three attempts to make it reasonably straight. Now, more than two years in, I am preparing to have to repaint parts of the front of the house where the paint was done extremely poorly. Also, some of the exterior brickwork was so shoddy that its now crumbling and needs to be replaced. Keep in mind this is only after two years of ownership. The overall workmanship on our house is awful....and as first time home buyers we just expected that a new home would have been made better. Now I will have to pay someone to repair some of the bad trim and masonry work in the front of the house this summer. For these reasons I would not recommend Colina homes.

Dora Bourelle has helped me throughout this whole process, during this pandemic purchasing a home was the last on my list. Working with Kris and Natasha they helped me and my husband get approve so we can start the process of building our first home. Working with Dora Bourelle she has tremendously helped him and I in this process and also has eased some our stress as well. She is very positive and always know what is best for her clients. I can honestly say she has been a blessing in our lives , thank you Dora for helping us along the way to make our dreams come true. She is the best!

And Jillian, their sales gal, has been so pleasant & helpful. We’re looking forward to building with Colina Homes.

Got so frustrated with all these workmanship issues with Colina that I wanted to leave a negative review and noticed such a high volume of reviews over a short time period. Don’t fall for all those fake reviews. They were at a 2.6 rating and are now 4+ magically overnight. Goes to show how terrible of a builder Colina Homes is if they are resorting to this. No sane realtor is up at midnight leaving “excellent” reviews. Maybe if they focused those resources on actually helping resolve issues instead, they’d have more positive responses.

Tammy Land, the sales woman at Marrow Lakes in Texas City is so rude! She emailed to follow up with me today to see if I was still looking for a home. I thanked her for following up and let her know we had purchased a home. We got a great deal on the house we bought. She sent back insulting emails ending with “Good luck, you’ll be coming to see me in a year or so.” No I won’t! I will never give her or this company any business with that type of attitude! Guessing she’s upset because the gorgeous house we did buy was built by her competitor there in Marrow Lakes.

Stopped by New Construction site in Pasadena -Jorge Lemes that is a site Rep for Colina Homes was Awesome - Knew everything about the Product/Home and was responsive though the whole deal to closing. Builder was great and also very responsive. Highly Recommend!

My experience with Colina has been a pretty awful one overall.Made an offer on a new build in Independence Heights end of February and we were all set to close in 40 days. About four days before closing was the final walk through, which my amazing realtor offered to do for me as I was unable to go myself (and Colina was very strict with the times they would allow). Come to find out, by accident, that there was a legal issue with the property so we wouldnt have been able to close... IN FOUR DAYS... I was all packed up, movers scheduled, utilities turned on and paid for... Colina had known about this issue for months and didnt think they should inform a new buyer.This issue wasnt resolved on their end (and meant a cloud on the title) and I was allowed to walk away from the deal. They refunded my earnest money, per the contract, and we got them to agree to refund my inspection and appraisal fees since not being able to close WAS COMPLETELY THEIR FAULT.I FINALLY got a check in the mail for my earnest money about two and a half weeks ago... BUT NOT THE MONEY OWED FOR INSPECTION AND APPRAISAL. They apologized, an accounting error, and agreed to mail the check to my new address within two weeks. Lo and behold, two weeks later, no check. Follow up... oh, we sent it to the old address. My amazing realtor demanded they cut and send a new check (they had the nerve to ask if I forwarded my mail.... yes, Im not an idiot.... but mail forwarding is not quick), and they agreed to send it overnight, which meant Id have it today.Just checked the mail... 6 pm... and no check.I am a retail manager, which means I know and give good customer service, and believe in being transparent with my clients. If youre looking for a company that will be transparent and timely with your home buying needs, I would steer clear of Colina and look elsewhere.

While looking all over Houston with tons of different builders, all I can say is Dora Bourelle made Colina Homes in Balmoral stand out. Never did I think I would want to move to Humble, but wow I think Dora changed my on that. While I wasn’t ready to move in just yet Dora still treated me like I was a cash buyer. We went to the Texas City model home off of hwy 3. We were greeted by an older gal, looked around the house and we were not impressed. The lady who greeted us, ask us what we thought, we mentioned the windows were trimmed in plywood, not wood, and the siding was butted to the windows, and not even to the plywood trim pieces. Every home inspector Ive met, mentions that as the #1 culprit for water intrusion. She said they passed inspection, redhead older gal offered no brochures or help, just rudely told us wed made up our minds already.Judging from the other reviews by purchasers here, we made the right decision to leave the senior ginger politely to her business, whatever it is she actually does.

All of these AMAZING reviews must have been paid for. I signed . . . about 22 families signed contracts in 2020 with a GREAT price and AWESOME square footage. I knew I was getting a great deal as a 1st time home buyer. From August to October, still no start date, but a promise to be complete by December. Then that date was pushed back to January, but they were still waiting on permits, (Why start selling and signing contracts if you dont have ALL OF THE PERMITS NEEDED?). February/March is now the completion date . . . still had not started. Well, February comes and now we are looking to finish March/April. The entire time, Im thinking this is frustrating. My realtor is stating that shes never heard of anything like this before. Then, we receive ANOTHER email. Im over checking these emails that keep stating that the dates are pushed back, yet it will only take 3 months ONCE THEY GET STARTED. Okay, now its the beginning of March and its been pushed back to JUNE/JULY. But wait, theres more, I get a call from Amber and she tells me that the builder has to CANCEL ALL CONTRACTS, because THEY took to long to get started and the developer couldnt get all the proper paperwork. At this point, the market is CRAZY!!! The price of the house is up and pass my price point. If I still want this house, I have to start all over and pay more. And although Ive been waiting for months . . . They say theyll start building in Mid May. Advertising that it will be completed in August. When I tell you I am beyond frustrated and discouraged. My son and I are over it and now looking for an apartment. All in All, the people at Colina cant be trusted and their information isnt consistent or honest. Colina homes wasted my time, energy and I lost hope in becoming a homeowner if this is how builders treat customers. BTW: The seller didnt send my cancellation or earnest money back.

Buyer beware. If I could give zero stars I would. This is not a reputable home builder. I recently purchased 2 properties in Houston TX within a short time frame only to find poor quality in output in the 1st property. Examples: sloppy finishing in almost every room, bathrooms and garage, noticeable surface damage on kitchen cabinets, unfinished or crooked outlets, and even light fixtures where they dont belong. All this even after requesting attention to poor finishes. The process of getting them to do whats right by the consumer is non existent. Do not believe their statement on website, this is not premier quality homes. Over a month post sale and i still havent received warranty information. When attempting to avoid the same issue with 2nd purchase, they cited they could no longer allow in person home walk through and lied about a new Covid policy. When I refused to accept this due to my concerns with quality, they terminated the contract. While this is probably for my best, this was after heavy investment of my time and energy, and 1 week away from close. They also had me call and pay for gas meter installation before I purchased the 2nd property.Its disgusting businesses like this get away with blatant disregard for consumers. They can easily turn around and sell a finished product at literally my expense.

We were under contract with Colina Homes for them to build a new home in the Phase 2 of a community. After several months, they still hadn’t started the home due to various issues on their end. We never complained and were very patient throughout the delay. Once they came closer to building - they came to us and said that they have raised the price and would only build it if we agreed to pay an extra $14,000.00. When we didn’t agree to pay more than the prior agreed to and contracted price - they canceled under a fine print clause that allows them to cancel the contact for any reason. They returned our earnest money and gave us $500 for the inconvenience. Just a warning - making more money on a sale is more important to them than honoring their own contracted price. Beware!

Fixing my review from 6 months ago...at first ,Very attentive and patient with my husband and I throughout the whole process. Great communication! However, they kept pushing our closing date. We were originally suppose to close on 1/29/21 then eventually after many reschedules they set up a date for 3/22/21 . Then we were told that they were trying to rush the process because the contract was going to be up and everything was needed by 3/31. On 3/26 we got notified that they couldn’t rush anything and that they were canceling our contract. The next day the house was in the market for $30,000 of what we had our contract and sold to someone else immediately. Have great floor plans but thanks to them , we have been searching for a new home for a month now and no success with the market going crazy for houses now.

I closed two deals with Shannon Peacock this year in Glendale Lakes and she is one of the best sales agents Ive worked with. Every question my buyers and I had she would answer in a timely manner and made availability for us. I would definitely recommend her in the future to any of my buyers.

Never, ever, ever buy a home from Colina Homes. If you are still thinking about it, please, please, please, reconsider. Never, ever, ever buy a home from Colina Homes.Why, you ask?We are about to have to perform our 4th major repair on our home in the first 6 years. And this does not count the major issue that was found during the inspection, which was that our master tub was not properly connected to the drainage system, which caused us to watch water flow down the walls on the floor below.Repair #1: Shower pan incorrectly installed in master shower. Wood panel floor under shower bench, which leaked to the ceiling of the floor below. Completely demoed and rebuilt the master shower for about $15k ($13k out of pocket).Repair #2: Presenting issue was a constant stream of water from the AC drain pipe in the attic. Actual issue was a multitude of things, including wet flooring in the attic due to a floating device not being installed to turn off AC when pan was full, the pipe from the HVAC system was installed flowing upward in one section, and there was no ball valve between sections of release pipe. Dont remember the cost, though it wasnt as bad as the others.Repair #3: Mold and mildew in house caused by a nail hammered through a pipe when the pantry was completed during construction of the house. Completely replaced the pantry with full mold inspection and remediation at a cost of $11k ($8k out of pocket).Repair #4: We now have been told that an improper AC unit was installed for our home... Single stage AC with multi zone thermostat setup. Mildew all throughout the system, which has caused a mysterious smell in the house particularly during summer months. A smell which we paid to try to find a solution to on multiple occasions.

Be very careful if you buy a house from them. The finishing is quite terrible and it takes forever to come get them to fix anything and if they do fix it they only halfway fix it. It took them 4 months to fix a leak in my garage and they have never come back to fix the dry wall even though Ive requested it 5 times. The Warranty program is BS. They wont come fix anything after you close. Just go with another builder.

This Homebuilder is absolutely amazing!! The Mill Creek subdivision is tucked away in Magnolia TX. Magnolia is on of the hottest markets in the Houston area. The home designs are thoughtful. The standard features are so far the best I have seen in my search. New home features are absolutely amazing!

Extremely pleased with the process of building with Colina Homes. Dora Boyd at the Balmoral Community has been a pleasure to work with. She explained the process and made it super easy. The neighborhood is beautiful and cannot wait to enjoy the amenities that it has to offer.

I want to thank Dora for all she has done. She went above and beyond for my son and I. Whenever we had a question she was quick to respond and detailed in her answer. I had been to other new home sales offices and Balmoral and the other sales people were rude and pushy. All I can say is Dora is a blessing to my family.

I was a Realtor on a transaction with this builder. They tried to scam my clients into using their lender and increasing the home price regardless of appraisal price, which would have been lower. We ended up using our own lender. 24 hours before closing they sprung a $2500 HOA fee due at closing which was not stated in any documentation. When asked what the fees were for, they truly stated that they did not know. They also forced my clients to pay for their yearly security system, which was not wanted nor asked for. Sales person was nice but unaware of answers to most questions. Lots of problems during blue tape day that were not all addressed prior to closing. I will not be bringing future clients to this builder without telling them all of this information prior, as it caused significant problems.

House is nice so far, however don’t pay for anything extra. We paid $1500 for backyard sod and they laid it about 2 weeks before we closed. They did not take care of it and it was all but dead when we moved in. I managed to save most of the yard but there is still a 10 ft by 12ft spot in the back that is beyond repair. Communication with colina is tough after closing. Extremely tough. Most neighbors i have talked to say the same. Make sure to thoroughly check all spots of the house during the walkthrough and come back frequently to ensure it is actually being repaired.

Jillian is the most knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous Salesperson ever! She always greets you with a smile, and is willing to go above and beyond to help find the perfect home for you and your family. Highly recommend. She is the best!

My wife and I have been looking at where to settle down after my service and a buddy of mine recommended me here. When I gave a call to Mrs. Bourelle she was very knowledgeable on all of my questions and even informed me on a few perks I didnt know I had. Emailed me pictures of there homes because im not able to make it out there at the moment and quoted me prices and mortgage rates. Will definitely be buying after my time is up from her.

Took 5 months to get house built. Every aspect of the building process was a mess. They didnt have security in premises so my windows got stolen, sheetrock got stolen. Their contractors ran over my new sod destroying my front lawn. The builder is not responsive, he also says he wont do anything else to my home. Even, it isnt finished. Im getting a lawyer for this issue. This is completely unprofessional. This is not a good company to have to build your home. I truly felt scammed, my home was 281k. This is what you get for over 1/4 million dollar home. Dont use them.. stay away.. lesson learned.

I visited Shelly Woods in Sterling Lakes, Sierra Vista and she was such an amazing person. She was very professional and well versed on your homes. I appreciated her can do attitude to assist me as I’m looking to purchase in the future.

I cant not recommend this builder, I moved in over 4 years, I have spent almost a thousand dollars to fix the problems, first my roof was leaking, took about months for them to find out where is the leak issue and finally they fixed, it was under warranty. Then the AC out of order, its under warranty, but had to take days to fix in such hot summer, I had to hire someone to fix it in the same day. The next is the breakers keep tripping, had to hire someone to replace, and the porch light bulb out of order, but too high to reach use normal ladder, have to hire people to replace the light bulb (bad design with other stuff too). The kitchen garbage disposal start leaking, have to replace it. Is this the new house I purchased? All the stuff seems temporary not last longer. Please stay away this builder.

I had a great experience there with a Consultant named Elmer. He really took the time to find out my needs and was not pushy at all. Me and the wife are excited about our colina home the experience has been great! I recommend Elmer 100% ask for him when you stop by.

I had a bad experience from the beginning since I tried contacting the sales representative. Finally after getting a hold of him, agreed on a price of a home and a week or after that, they tell me there was an error in price and it was $5k more. Almost a month had past and there was no construction on the house. Tried to get a hold of someone in the corporate office, and no one retuned my call. Finally received an email and they told me the house was now $20k more! Sorry, this is not professional at all! Will definitely not make business with this company or recommend anyone to do so!

The entire process was a nightmare. Multiple items required fixing after move-in. The builders took their time and in some cases, the items were never addressed. I have had a sewage backup on a home built in Houston in 2018, which was my first home. I learned from my plumber there was trash left in the sewage line from the build - how irresponsible. The management is not responsive (at all) to any of my calls or requests for assistance. Chose another builder if you can - these builders are not reliable. I had such a poor experience for my first home. Colina will be held accountable for their poor workmanship and unprofessionalism.

After I signed the contract they did not want to come and fix anything. Even simple things like missed areas of paint, calking, tile. My home buying experience was awful and now after just a year 1/2 my appliances are failing.

Just had the most awful and disheartening experience with this builder.I accompanied my friend who is a first time home buyer with all of the excitement and energy that goes along with the purchase of a new home only to be met with rude and arrogant representatives.During our first and second walk-through there were quite a few pieces of blue tape, meaning there was quite a bit of work that still needed to be done, needless to say several of the items that were highlighted on the first round still did not get taken care of on the second round...only to be told that this is not a custom home and some of the items will remain as they are, needless to say this was not acceptable.Today was our third walk-through because they wanted to close by the end of the year, though a few of the items were still not done but were much better than the previous two visits.My friend was starting to feel excited again and was looking forward to closing on the property in a few days and moving in to the home for the New Year.With all of the hiccups and inferior workmanship that had to be dealt with, was still willing to close within a few days of the New Year.This of course was unacceptable to Colina Homes, and they chose to bully my friend in to closing because they wanted an immediate close by December 31.An email was sent stating that if my friend did not close on the 31st, that they will not close periodTHIS IS A QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM THE COLINA HOMES WEBSITE::“At Colina Homes, our goal is to ensure your satisfaction with your new home.”“We are here to help you through every step of the process.”See attached pic from the Director of Sales & Marketing.Note the Date & Time 5:15PM Dec 30.How is that for ensuring customer satisfaction??

Some have been resolved, while some have been lingering and recurring for months. Prior to closing, everything was pleasant. Once we closed, the nightmare began and 11 months later, we still havent woken up from it. We have to call numerous times to get a response and most of the time, we are addressed as though we are receiving favors rather than whats rightfully ours.Do not purchase a home from this builder. Thank me later.
