Attempted to purchase a Darling home in Houston. Worked with a sales agent who was very good, but builder would not budge on price. Actually, they kept changing the price on a home I was interested in each time I spoke with them. I even pre-qualified with them prior. I cant help but believe there were other factors in consideration when we initiated interest in the community and they just were not interested in selling to people like us. Could be just corporate greed since Darling is now a Taylor Morrison division, but the process left a bad taste in my mouth.
I am a very disappointed Darling Home owner. Quality on my home is poor. We just had a large mirror in the master bath simply FALL off the wall! Thank goodness our 2 year old grandson was not close by as it could have been a tragic situation. I called and first words out of their mouth was sorry it is out of warranty. Could not give me the name of the glass company that installed the mirror. I called a reputable local glass company. They came out and inspected the mirror and told me the mirror was not installed correctly. Darling refused to take responsibility. I had the local company fix the problem. I will be filing a small claim action to recover my loss and damages. Still haven’t received a call from local Darling management team. Don’t think they care.
Would not buy anything from Ken Alexander who works for Darling homes, most dishonest person I’ve come across. If he tells you “ don’t worry about it, I’ll make it right “, good luck!. He won’t return calls, text or messages!
Hands down, best place to work.
