Terrible. Plain and simple, don’t close with this builder unless you are ready to lawyer up. My newborn baby is literally in tears while I’m wasting time trying to do something as simple as flushing the toilette. Every inch of this “new build” home is garbage. And you don’t realize it until you’ve moved in. I’m on my 3rd week here and am full of regret!
It was a long difficult year to get our home, but after closing in Nov for Thanksgiving week, Jesus and Carlos have been the best! Any issue brought up with the house has been fixed or addressed. It’s very impressive to see the amount of work in the short time they both have been involved/completed in the community. I wish them nothing, but the best in the New Year!
These guys came through in the clutch. My warranty claim was very smooth. Thank you so much, great job SBG team!
I closed on my house since last year October and I still have warranty request from October that have not been addressed. The work done in the house is sloppy; handles, light switches and more are crooked. The paint touch-ups on the house doesnt match the rest of the paint on the walls. They are not responsive. The house is not worth the price. The grass was dead when I moved in and I was assured it would be replaced and 7 months later it is still not replaced. If you want quality work and a responsive builder, go elsewhere. The absolute worst!
Purchased a new home from this company. Had floor tile with large stains. Was told by Andy it was just dirt and would clean up. When we discovered it was stains from rust, we were told to deal with it. “It’s not covered by the warranty”. This is just one of the first many issues. Just had to deal with another gas line problem last month. Beware of doing business with them.
Have a request for warranty repair for 3 months with a leaking toilet and still no one has been out to help. The customer service representative hung up the phone on me and says all she does is answer phones. They do no take the clients issue seriously and urgently. Huge issue and I normally dont leave reviews
Had a great experience with Stoneworks Building Group. They have amazing customer service, and the house is beautiful.
I am owner of Berry Sage Home, before closing, we had to wait till 1 year from their initial closing date. That does not matter. what matters is: Oven has error message which is dangerous , whole house is without hot water, garage does not open, key is not working and had to do it manually, backyard door is already broken. I do not feel safe in this home, this is serious matter and We Tried to contact warranty but they told us we are in a queue. These are emergency matters and needs to resolve ASAP but with them I am just loosing hope now. Do not Buy from them!!!
Bought a new build from them and during my initial walk through, I pin pointed a lot of minor cosmetics and semi major electrical issues (exposed wiring and such, which they gave an excuse for it). During final, had an inspector and he noticed some issues with the house. Some which was never resolved when I moved in.Things I noticed were mix matched lights, stains on the countertops, tools left behind, lots and lots of handles were loose and coming out of the wall mounts.Slowly going through the list of issues with warranty department and they seem to take their time on request. Having a time schedule with them is like pulling teeth.
Would avoid buying a home build by this company! They are terrible. Once you start living in the house you will see the terrible job they have done. Very cheap and will fall apart within a few years. They give you a 2 year warranty… which is a joke! They will send untrained people they find and they will make the problem worse and you will have to go back and forth for months to get someone to come. They will tell you a time and so you take that time off and no one will show up.They lie and the blue tape walk and will give you false promises. They will be very responsive until your sign the documents and get the keys. Good luck getting ahold of anyone after that. The fence In our neighborhood is build poorly and they want that to come out of our hoa budget even though they messed up to begin with and now refuse to fix it!
Low quality work, poor communication, zero accountability, and frankly the owner is a liar. Very untrustworthy. Would not recommend under any circumstances.
I would never recommend this builder! Read the reviews before bringing your clients here. First of all, there’s no reason clients should be in a contract for OVER a year on a home. The builder reps and everyone involved are so unprofessional it’s honestly EMBARRASSING. Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone because they will literally not return your calls for days. All they care about is making money, and not keeping the realtor but most importantly the client happy. Buying a home should be an exciting, smooth process however, this builder robs you from that experience. They don’t care about the customer they do wrong by. A little advice to the builder reps and everyone who is involved in the transaction… all you have to do is do right by people and things will turn around good for you. Everyone here definitely needs intense training on how to talk to people, and understand sense of urgency. Especially the transaction rep with NAN PROPERTIES.
Please be very careful when deciding to spend your hard earned money with this builder. Our entire community in Green Park is having major issues with their brand NEW homes that have not been addressed. Our fence was not built properly and and is slanting and in the future will fall down. We have sent in pictures over five months ago and no response. We have also noticed that our floors are uneven on the 2nd floor Many of the residents get the run around when reporting problems.
I love the Floorplan, but poor craftsmanship, poor quality, poor poor poor. They have half a** everything about my house. So many issues cant list them all. My neighbors and I have been in our homes for 4mths and we still do not have access to our mailbox. We have a hard time getting mail and packages. Their lack of urgency with this is so beyond what I can phantom. I would not recommend this builder to build my dog house. The gate into the community has not been operational once. I would never recommend this builder or buy another home from them.
Was having a lot of issues with Stoneworks at first. Had about 4 to 5 different closing dates and had to live month to month at my apartment. Things weren’t getting done on time. Once they got rid of whoever was leading the build and switched over to Carlos and Jesus things went a lot smoother. Carlos was real honest despite me being angry and his timelines were actually met. Gave me good updates constantly and kept me in the loop. House came out great and I love it.
I bought a house and received it recently. 420 Benbrook. House was delivered on time. No problems so far. The team is very friendly and helped me with everything I needed. Highly recommended.
You will only see negative reviews and rarely positive reviews online. I’ve purchased a DR Horton home as well as a Pulte home and I will have to say Stoneworks’ quality is better than both of those builders. They are slow when coming by to fix something under warranty but I’ve experienced that with other builders as well. As long as you have it in writing and dated that you’ve emailed them to fix it before your warranty expires then you’ll be okay. It took them 2-3 weeks to come out to fix our 1 year warranty items.
If you are looking into purchasing a Stoneworks home, please listen to the low star reviews.Things in the home look pretty, like nice cabinets and quartz counter tops but things that are more important like drainage under your home, in the backyard, and between homes is not their concern. If you bother them JUST ENOUGH then they will finally get tired of you and fix what should have been done correctly from the beginning. When you get an inspection and bring up leaks, not only do they gaslight you and deny there could be any issues (inspectors don’t get paid to find issues, they just get paid to do the inspection) they wait until water is dripping through your ceiling to come out to fix the issue that had been brought up prior. When you’re near the end of your warranty and bring up other issues, they conveniently wait until after the warranty ends and pull a “oh, we don’t cover that” - when in the warranty booklet it explicitly states they do which forces you to hire a third-party to fix things.Beyond that, they set up lights in the neighborhood but no electrical to it, they install shoddy gates and when their contractors break it, they take no responsibility, and they say well never have to worry about flooding due to great street drainage but when it even rains just a little, the far end of the neighborhood is wading through water. Not to mention, you could be the unlucky person to have your water meter tethered to the community sprinkler system because they dont do their due-diligence to make sure their piping is correct and youll get some nice $600 water bills and they will write you off on fixing it.While I now enjoy my home, the headaches of trying to get Stoneworks to fix issues would keep me from ever purchasing another Stoneworks home. If they were responsive to the issues at hand and changed their attitudes to their customers, they could be a decent company to work with, but as it stands, they are not.I can only guess the 5 star reviews are employees or family because if you go and ask people who have used them as a builder before they will warn, warn, warn you.
I have a client who went under contract with this builder and they are extremely unprofessional. For months they didn’t keep us updated of the construction and when they finally did it was just to say that the construction was delayed for almost a year. My clients were given the option to terminate and get their earnest money back and it has been over a month since then and they still haven’t signed the release of earnest money. I have called over 15 times and I always get the same answer, that they are working on it. They are now ignoring my calls and my clients are still in need of getting their earnest money back. Stay away from this builder because they lack professionalism.
Working with this company/builder has been a true nightmare. I am still waiting on my home to be completed and have been given the run around since I signed my initial contract in February 2022. Find another company and agency to buy from or build with. Trust the negative reviews, as the positive clearly are friends or employees. Nan properties and Stoneworks are the most unprofessional, unresponsive and unethical companies I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Official complaints will be filed.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDER. It’s been a headache to work with them. They will assure you they will take care of things but will take forever. Too many issues with this house and we just moved in. Work is very sloppy and when you point something out they just patch it up with whatever they can. I keep hearing that they are just so busy since they are building more homes, and they may make the model homes look very beautiful but when you get the finish product you will see the poor quality. You will run into issues after you move in and they will take forever to come out to fix anything once you close on the house.Would give them zero stars if I could.
Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the overall quality of the home they built is fine. The main problem is the customer service after you make a purchase. I purchase an inventory home so I didnt have to deal with them during construction phase, but so far (3 months in the house) the way they have handled warranty claims is terrible. Lack of communication, schedules missed, issues pending. Just a terrible after-sales experience so far.
The builder is very attentive, responds fast to any issues or concerns and fixes any problems in a timely manner.
***THEY TOOK MY INITIAL REVIEW DOWN. ****They took my initial review done. RUN IF YOU CAN!Way too many issues at our blue tape walk and ensured that everything was going to be fixed at final walk through. Final walk through comes and they left off all the major things and said that they would take care of it within two weeks. Here were are months later still no progress.Once you move in you will realize how bad of a job they did. Uneven wall.. we were unable to mount our tv becuse the wall is uneven.I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT USE THIS BUILDER. They may have a nice outlook however your house will fall apart within months.
Avoid these builders at all cost. They have a number of issues they need to fix at our current HOA community and have been very slow and not responsive. House itself is okay, but you can forget about how they address and respond to warranty requests and maintain the community. Have had issues with gate repairs, water meters and total lack of responsibility of their contractors! Currently they will not give HOA to the residents even though the community is completed because they want to force residents into a settlement on the open issues. Would be happy to revisit my review once everything is resolved! Also, be cautious of their “five star” reviews and do some research on them. Usually it’ll be someone that’s worked with them either directly like an employee or a listing agent for them. I would trust the reviews of those that actually bought a house from them
My experience working with this builder has been great overall! Most of my interactions were with Carlos and he is always super responsive and knowledgeable. I really appreciate all of his help throughout my move in process and even still today when I have questions or concerns! Thanks Carlos!
Our home is nice and has a cool design but we have a few issues with our home and bigger ones with the development as a whole. In response to these issues, Stoneworks upper management and ownership has very poor communication with its homeowners and is rude and dismissive. They have taken forever to address a couple of significant issues, one being road drainage, in the common area of our complex. This has still not been resolved. They also have not turned over the community to its residents to form a real HOA even though all homes are sold. They are still the declarant for the community and hired out an HOA management company to facilitate routine community maintenance and address builders defects with Stoneworks, which they do not do very well. StoneWorks is average about addressing warranty requests for our home thus far. Some of their subs perform good repair work...others do not and you really have to stay on them. Backyard drainage had been an issue for us. We do respect the construction manager for Stoneworks, as he does try to help...just not their ownership or project manager who we hardly hear from. Ill be happy to update this review if Stoneworks respectfully communicates with homeowners and follows through with fixing the issues that need fixing.
I typically don’t take time to write reviews especially negative reviews; however, StoneWorks made my first time home owner experience a nightmare. To start the owner, David, is impossible to get in touch with and has only responded to one of my emails. The project manager, Alvin, is notorious for overpromising and under delivering.I started the home search process 60 days ago to be exact and decided to purchase a new build (townhome) in 3rd ward, a Stoneworks property. I made the purchase based on the location, size, price range and it’s met my standards as first tine homebuyer. Prior to signing the contract I discussed my desired close date which was about 30 days from the date I signed the agreement. StoneworkS agreed that the place would be ready for close 30 days or less.Fast forward to a week later and we had the place appraised as well as an outside inspection. The inspector identified several issues (see notes below and pictures). Stoneworks reviews and signed off on the inspection agreeing to the inspectors findings as well as fixing these issues prior to closing. In addition, we did the standards blue tape walk through with the supervisor, Alvin, which we identified several cosmetic defects (paint inconsistencies, chipped countertop, damaged walls, damaged base boards). All issues and damaged items were documented and agreed to be completed prior to closing which is 3 weeks away.During the 3 weeks prior to the close date I would periodically stop by to observe the progress and noticed not much had been done regarding the ares of concerned as well as the items were still unfinished finished from the inspection report. I updated my realtor of these concerns who also updated Stoneworks realtor and they agreed things would be finished prior to closing. IT DIDNT HAPPEN!We scheduled the final walk through 24 hours before closing only to find out 90% of the items identified by the inspector were unfinished including removal of dirt under the siding of the house, repair damaged wood, caulk the garage area and lights, inconsistent paint throughout the house, base boards still needed re-painting in most rooms, pipes on roof not painted and caulked, etc) the list goes on. At this point were Extremely concerned and it’s obvious that Stoneworks realtor was concerned but promised these issues would be resolved by 9 am the following day. It didn’t happen! We arrived at 9 am only to find somethings completed while others were unfinished, poorly completed or patched hoping we wouldn’t notice. I was as calm as anyone could be at this point however We were concerned for several reasons as we had arranged movers, signed contracts for utilities, arranged additional services expecting to have the place finished. The close date was pushed to a later time the same day as we were still giving StoneworkS an opportunity to fix this mess! To hold them accountable we had them sign addendums agreeing to compensate us for the fees incurred after having to rearrange the move etc. Stoneworks agreed to reimburse me and this Still has not happened and it’s been almost 2 weeks and David has not replied or returned any calls or emails. To make matters worst, after I finally closed, I went to the house still unsatisfied with the sloppy patch work from Stoneworks and several unfinished items! David decided to show up the next day and he goes through my home and blue takes the same areas We blue taped 3 weeks ago which speaks to sloppy, patch work his guys do. Even with David being present that day the work was sloppy, inconsistent and several missed areas. At this point, I’m fed up with complaining as it’s falling on deaf ears.I am extremely disappointed in the poor service, lack of communication and sloppy work by the Stoneworks organization. I would not recommend anyone purchase their properties as it’s not worth the long term headache. Today I’m still waiting on my reimbursement, my pipes are still not painted and caulked, my showed knob is still broken and several areas of blue tape unfinished! Save your money and time!
My initial comment regarding Carlos and Jesus still stands. Very professional, responsive, and helpful. Now that they are gone it is back to the same story. I’ve reached out to the new guy Chris several times with no response regarding HIS CREW climbing over my back fence (no knock on the door, no notice, no permission) pulling wires that have now been sitting for over 2 weeks. The guy Chris claimed he didn’t schedule the work and it wasn’t his guys. Called CenterPoint and they stated the opposite. Now apparently he is on vacation and doesn’t want to deal with the issue. Seriously regret purchasing anything from these people.
Not recommended, save your money and time, this builder will make sure you have the worst experience and your home investment will be as minimum as possible. Materials, Contractors and services used are the very cheapest and low quality possible. Customer service is taken to the lowest levels, so you will be discouraged for asking about warranty services. A complete disaster.
This is a very unprofessional builder who uses a shady real estate agency NextGen Real Estate. They list property using fake mock-ups where the true finishes are NOTHING like the ones the builder offers, create literature full of bull**** neither they (nor the builder will honor), are not available to take calls inquiring for information of properties/or have incompetent people fielding those calls who can offer NO information, delay allowing anyone to submit offers by not giving them the information needed to submit an offer, and then act surprised when 10 offers come in the same day on a property they just began handing information out for. THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE TO BUY FROM!!! (This just happened on your Gano listing... you folks should be ashamed of yourselves. I plan to file a formal grievance too!)
Our experience with them has been less-than-stellar from the beginning. We’ve had so many issues with our property and the response our concerns from them has been very slow and at times non-existent. Many of the problems that they halve supposedly come out to fix we have had to then pay someone else to fix out of our pockets. One of the biggest concerns is rain water drainage. Backyards tend to take days or over a week to dry on some properties.
I am sad to see other negative reviews here for Stoneworks because we have LOVED our home. Any minor issue after closing, Stoneworks took care of in a timely manor. Their workers have all been responsive and have treated us well. I will continue to recommend this builder to all my friends that are buying!
Horrible experience, exact same issues as stated below. Blue tape was never addressed even after addendums to the contract, incorrect construction material used leading to leaks in the house etc. STAY AWAY from this builder! The worst construction quality you’ll ever see in new home construction, poor customer service...I could go on and on.
Im really praying my home does not fall apart. The amount of thinly sliced particle board used to build my home is insane.I feel safer living in a shoe box. Literally everything comes from alibaba express or something. This is extremely scary.
Ive checked out Stoneworks homes and they are way better quality than the competitors. They have a upgraded cabinet that has no particle board with soft close doors and drawers on all cabinets and they also use an upgraded quartz surface for counters. Check them out.
Terrible quality homes. Bought a house in 2020 that was made in 2017 by this company. Structural issues, door issues, just a money sink, avoid this business.
Very Professional!! All Negative Comments are absurd. Everyone is very communicative, Everything was on top standard! The whole process was lovely clean and well maintenance. Stoneworks building group Thank you again!
They dont even deserve one star. Stay away from anything that Stoneworks has anything to do with. I regret so much moving into a home they built. I would not let them build a dog house let alone a home. Stay away from this company at all costs.
This builder has zero experience. Horrible finishes, horrible craftsman. Stay away from them.Had two projects with those people and we are going all the way to court.
Although we had other issues with the process, the building manager, Jesus Sandival, was extremely professional and helpful! He went above and beyond. Excellent service from him!
We have had many serious drainage problems with my community. The street floods every time it rains. There still has been no plan for improvement.
Issues that were presented after closing were handled mindfully by Jesus, Carlos, and lead by Clint. Things are coming along and I’ve appreciated the attention to detail
The worst builder. Don’t realize until you move it. The warrant they offer… is a joke. The crew will leave it worse than it already was.
You decide if you want to buy one of their homes based on this completely factual list of my experience:1) pond under my new home noticed during inspection and not repaired leading to black mold growth under the home2) shower pan leaking for 2.5 years leading to black mold inside of my home being diagnosed incorrectly for the 2.5 years also noticed during inspection and supposedly repaired3) no street drainage - flooded road during any amount of rainfall4) various other leaks (pipes hit with nails and roof leaks)5) gate that works when it wants to and has no manual option to open once inside the neighborhoodThat is all…
I have never experienced kindness the way I have experienced it with Stoneworks. Want to work with people who actually care about people? And not just for the profit of selling you a home? Work with Stoneworks.
Stoneworks is amazing!
Fantastic and reliable company
New houses...but very little patio...or very small land
