We had heater last year and it was intermittent fault, and the other company technician couldnt figure out. We contacted Dave Lane and Chris came out for a diagnostic appointment first, he did a very thorough job, spent lot of time to troubleshoot and finally pinpoint the problem. Chris ordered part and came out to replace and the issue is resolved. We are very happy with Dave Lane and Christs service from beginning to the end with the technical, process, communication, response. Definitely will use Dave Lane company for our AC/Heater services from now on.
Ive been using Dave Lane for 25 years, and always have been pleased with their service and timeliness. It had been a while since i have needed to call them, but i had a heater fan go out, and they came the next day to service and replace the parts. It was fantastic to see that not only was the service level still fantastic, it may actually have improved, which i wasn’t expecting. Highly recommend!

I had all of my duct work replaced in the attic and I called Lane mechanical for a quote. Not only did they show up and explain the scope of work in detail, they came in at half the price of one of their competitors. Even though the job was rather large, everything was completed within a day and the quality of the work was unbelievable. I would highly recommend these guys if your needing any HVAC work.
George had the main problem fixed within minutes of arriving. He did the service work and had some suggestions on things that could be improved, wrote up those suggestions and had them sent to us by email for consideration without making any hard press. This company was recommended to us by a friend who has used them for a few years and has a service contract with them. We’ve signed up for the service contract also as of today.
Jesse arrived timely, and spoke to me about what problems I had observed with my ac system. He investigated and resolved the issues quickly, and checked out my unit thoroughly. I called about a high pitched sound when heater was turned on. They set up an appointment for that afternoon and arrived about 3:30pm. About an hour and a half later Craig Lane came to check this out. It was a relay switch and replaced it and also did the fall maintenance check up while here.All was done within less than an hour.Thank you for your quick and prompt service.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with your companys services. The technician, George, who visited our home, charged us $99 for providing absolutely no new information. Before the visit, we informed you that our unit was not receiving power. Our breaker box shows power, and our dryer, which is on the same circuit, is functioning properly. Clearly, we have power.We will never use your services again, nor will we recommend your company to anyone. Charging $99 for information that we had already provided over the phone is unacceptable. Additionally, we were told by George that you have an electrician you recommend. When I called this electrician, I was assured they would call back to schedule an appointment. It has been more than enough time, and I have yet to receive any follow-up. It’s been hours now.It is appalling that your company would send a technician, charge $99, and fail to provide any new information or a solution, but instead just parrot what we already told you. Your response to my wife’s review does not address our concerns and shows a lack of accountability. If possible, I would leave a no-star review. I caution anyone considering your services: this company will take $99 from you and give nothing in return.Update: As you can see, there is no accountability in your companys response whatsoever, just attitude. This seems to be your way of doing business, as I see in your many responses to bad reviews. You absolutely have not done your “part.” You are thieves. You were, in fact, told that the unit was not receiving power but that our power at the box is fine. The dryer on the same circuit is running fine, as well as the whole house. An honest business would admit they have no clue what’s wrong and waive the fee, given that they were already informed of this before coming out. He did not fix the problem that his company created by not installing the drain where it had no downward slope to drain. Also he did not install the insulation correctly.
Jesse came to my home to help me with the thermostat, and it was great. They fixed my thermostat in a couple of minutes and gave me some great tips.

Thanks for not forgetting about my relay panel I needed that was on back order for 3 months and calling when it came in. Joe did a great job on the relay and mixing box install. My water heater which was surrounded on all sides by ac ducts from the previous installer now is completely clear and free, easy to remove next time it needs replaced. My coworkers needed ac work too and Joe did good work for them as well, Joe has been doing this for a long time and his batting average is 4 out of 4 jobs with us, He is honest and a good problem solver with ac. thanks again!AC units are 3 times as big as they were 25 years ago and when I replaced them had to reconfigure my attic and how all of the ducts were routed. Had to put an ac unit where is wasn’t designed to go. These mixing boxes saved the day, fixed the flow issues, and ducts no longer touch each other or anything else they shouldn’t touch. Units and water heater are serviceable now. Everything up to code.

We reached out for a pricing on a pre-closing AC inspection this morning and had our tech Jesse sent out by the afternoon. He called when he was en route and even provided a digital biz card and tracking link to know when hed arrive and who to look for on arrival! Jesse was very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. On completion, he explained his findings, offered an estimate on repairs and answered all the questions that we had. We first met Dave Lane AC 19 yrs ago when they put in new system and duct for us. Twice every year we have them come out spring and fall for service. We eventually needed a new unit. Ryan came out spent time with us to discuss our options. Within 24 hrs we had a new AC/Heating unit and working great. They worked with us on best price for us as well as applicable rebates. Their service is prompt, professional and their installers are friendly, clean and efficient. Their office staff follow up with us twice a year to schedule service. We 100% recommend this company. You get what you pay for and Dave Lane is worth every penny.

Very unpleasant situation with the fee charged. Charged me $99 to diagnose, and $325 to change a $15 capacitor that took 45 minutes total to fix. Given that they do have to make a reasonable markup on parts, let’s say $50 for the part. That leaves $424 to diagnose and change the part out. In all, roughly $500/hr labor based on $425 for the 45 minute repair. Repair worked fine…but the fee was exorbitant…. Consumer beware. Edit: I did call different companies and even looked online, as well as called two of my HVAC friends in other cities and towns. No way that 60+7.5uf/MFD capacitor that you identified on the invoice cost $250-$500. Even eBay and Amazon has the same exact ones using the same identification numbers are between $10-$15…brand new. On eBay, you can even buy a 60+7.5/uf/MFD capacitor in a two-pack for $22.08! That makes them $11.04 EACH! The fact that you even attempt to defraud me and others even in your reply with this nonsense tells me of the kind of business you run. $425 for an $11 part and 45 minutes work is a sham.EDIT: No...it wasnt the same day service. You scheduler called and had to postpone the service call by one day.And the very thought of you coming back out and replacing the bad part and still charging me for service call and whatever fees is absolute proof you have no 100% satisfaction guaranteed service.

I called Dave Lane’s High Tech Mechanical because of a stopped up AC line that was leaking water through the ceiling into my kitchen. George Reyes responded immediately and came to my house that evening. He identified the problem, explained what was happening and repaired what needed to be fixed. Exemplary service! Chris spent 2 hours on one of our units. He worked diligently and thought of the problems in a detailed way that I understood. He was able to fix the problem that day, with no major replacements or expense. We had another company come out that was going to charge us upwards of $5000, and Chris fixed it all for $500. So appreciative of his work! And the front desk at Dave Lane’s office, they were great too.

Although polite, the technician, George, was not able to help us. We called saying no power to RC wire and the technician left after saying there was no power getting to the system. So, No new information for $99. He told us what was told to the company by us, when we called to schedule. He was also going to check if the system is still under warranty but left before giving us that information. So we are still in the exact same position as we were before he came to our home.
Ive used Hi-Tech since long before they were Dave Lanes and have always been satisfied. Their twice-annual maintenance is a good value and keeps our system in good running order. Continuing story of my service with Dave Lane Mechanical. They have been my go to HAVC company since I bought my house 10 years ago. While they provided a good quote, they werent the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. I’m a new customer. My ac guy retired 4 years ago and my central air unit hadn’t been checked since. A friend recommended I call this company to schedule a check up. They scheduled me for the next day and sent a picture and short bio of the man coming to service my ac. He came within the scheduled window and called before he came. He could have easily “found” something that needed to be fixed after all that time, but he didn’t. He gave my unit a clean bill of health. It’s hard to find honest, dependable service people. I’m very satisfied.

A 10 MFD capacitor cost $ 23.95 you charged me $123,25. A 30 MFD capacitor cost $27.63 you charged me $276.25. That makes no senseJesse earned his five stars he was very good.I understand your maintenance fee, but I do not understand why you charge over 300% higher For a capacitor.I have been a customer of yours for two years and three months. You have been out to check my HVAC systems many times. What Jesse found was there was a wrong capacitor on my AC system that failed. It was either put in by Dave Lane or your other maintenance people didn’t find that the wrong capacitor had been installed.It should have been checked and found to be the wrong one.
Woke up this morning to a furnace that wasn’t running. Thermostat simply said “call for service”. Called Hi-Tech because they are the only firm I allow to work on my systems. As luck would have it, it was a slow day and they had a tech at my house in less than 20 minutes (they are also fairly close to my house). My problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 30 minutes. A low pressure warning on a small fan that expels exhaust gas through its vent. Now, the tech could have said “we need to replace that switch but instead it was merely a clog in a tube which is an integral part of the system’s safety mechanisms. This type of integrity is the reason I only call Hi-Tech Mechanical.
Jarrod was the technician at our home yesterday. We are delighted at how responsive he was. We didnt know someone could come over on a Sunday, but he did.Although the problem was not completely resolved because our unit was pretty old, he gave us honest and professional advice. Called Dave Lanes Hi-Tech Mechanical because we were having a problem with a drain line from the AC coil. We had a technician on site within 2 hours, actually he was a little early. The technician, Ronnie, was very professional, knowledgeable, explained things well, did a very good job. He solved the problem and gave us suggestions on how to prevent in the future. I have always had good response from this company.
Im sure this company might be good at what they do, however they were of absolutely no help to me. I scheduled an appointment to quote ductwork as well as insulation but when they came out to the property they went up into the attic and right away he mentioned he wouldnt be able to quote me. Yes i understand its an old house (1975) and the design is not like todays (clearance is very low) but he didnt even think twice to shut me down. He wouldnt recommend anyone, said he didnt know of anyone that could help and was basically rushing out of the house. Total waste of my time taking off of work.

Chris, the technician that serviced my system, was great. The front office was super helpful both in getting someone out to me quickly and in helping me understand the charges.The charges themselves, however left a slightly bad taste as, in addition to the $99 trip charge (which covers the diagnostic service), there was another $125 charge for the swapping of a capacitor (not including the part cost which was under warranty). This charge was explained as including overhead charges, warranty processing, and administrative items such as these. If thats the case and warranty processing fees cost more than the parts themselves then whats the point of warranty service? As for overhead items, thats why the trip charge used to be implemented (example, we came and diagnosed but you refused work or no work was required...we are charging the trip charge, but if you authorized work then the first ~hour is included).All told, the 15 minute swap and 15 minute diagnostic visit ran me $224. Next time, if its the capacitor again, I will buy and swap one myself and save ~$100.

The Tech came out and checked out my HVAC system that was making noticeable noise at the outside unit...cooled the home as always, just very noisy doing it. Tech and I agreed...unit was installed in a different century, so parts are aftermarket and a challenge to obtain on older units. Tech was very gracious and advised on the various options for the future. Thanks to the tech for troubleshooting an HVAC installed in 20th century.

We wanted to share the results of our first 2 months experience with the Amana HVAC installed in December. I wish you to keep in mind that we were told to expect at least 30% lower energy bills.Our energy usage from 12-2 to 1-4 remained very close to the same period the previous year. Keeping in mind we had a fairly mild December this year, whilst last year we had a prolonged freeze in this time frame, and we had family visiting during that time, 5 adults added to our energy load. This year, much milder temperatures and only the 3 of us, yet the usage remains close to the same? We were wondering if we must have possibly made the single worst 20K investment of our lives.Usage 12-1-22 to 1-3-23 2136 kwhUsage 12-2 to 1-4-24 2165 kwhOur energy usage for the month of January is even more astounding, and as you bear with me you will understand why.Usage 1-4 to 2-2-231 1411 kwhUsage 1-5 to 2-5-24 2899 kwhWe had a freeze again, but this time we did not have 5 visitors and with this freeze, the day time temps were much higher than the daytime temps of the previous years freeze. So what made our energy consumption more than double?Well, this new HVAC system, of course.The automatic setting on the thermostat absolutely does not work, at all. So we just used the heating setting. We set the heat to 68. The unit would run for a couple of hours, while never reaching 68 degrees before blowing cold air throughout the home. When it would fall to 65, the heat would resume, replacing the cold air with hot until about 67 and then repeat with the cold air back down to 65. When we got up the first night of the freeze, it was 63 degrees in our home and the unit never once shut off all night long. We continued monitoring and watching this phenomenon for the day and decided on the second evening to treat this unit as we do the heating and a/c in our vehicle. We turned the desired temp to 74. The unit heated the home to 73 before commencing to blow cold air, at which time we simply turned the unit off.So, the only way to have any comfort in our home without having cold air blasting us, we had to continually go back and forth to the unit to turn the heating on and raise the desired temp to at least 72 for warm air to warm the home and then be sure run back to the unit when the cold air began blasting us.What can be done about this situation? This is a most devastating mess for us. As a disabled veteran, Charles is in a continuing battle with brain cancer. Mickie has developed heart problems. This is not acceptable. We are open to what you have to say to try and make this situation livable and affordable for us before we begin looking for solutions that may not have the desired effect for your company.We will be looking forward to hearing from you, as you keep in mind that when we bought the unit we were guaranteed verbally that we would see 30% lower energy bills, when the truth is 50% and more higher energy bills. Not to mention the inability for elderly disabled individuals to be comfortable in their home.

Our house was built in 84 and when we moved in 5 years ago, it came with AC problems. We’ve only ever used Dave Lane. They always come out quickly when we call with an issue. The last issue, DL advocated for us with the manufacturer to get them to fulfill the warranty on our unit when they were trying to dodge it. They got it settled for us, replaced our unit, and in the time that we were without AC, they loaned us a portable ac so we could stay cool.

First time with Dave Lane’s, reference from close friend. Compressor not working since sometime day before. Temp in my house 90degrees. Super happy to get same day service, quick diagnosis and repair by excellent tech.
The scope of work was to replace attic duct insulation and add blown-in attic insulation. The pricing was competitive and Joe and the installation crew were responsive and easy to work with. As with any work like this you need to pay attention, ask questions, give any needed reminders of what is supposed to be done, and inspect the work. All the work appears to be good quality and the installers were responsive to any concerns I had. The only issue was I didn’t feel that the office was proactive in communicating with me.
We’ve used Dave Lane for probably close to 30 years for our residence and our rental properties. They have always responded quickly, given us fair estimates, and perform the work promptly and in a timely manner. We have compared their prices and are always pleased. If they can do an easy fix, they make the suggestion.
Bryceson identified our problem quickly as a clogged drain pipe. He purged it and we were back up and running. Nicely done and very polite young man.

I had Dave Lane fix a clogged drain line and while there the technician Bryceson recommended that the rusty drain pan be replaced and a float valve shutoff switch be added. Two good investments to ensure no overflow leaks! Bryceson was extremely professional and helpful in answering my questions.
So I had to bite the bullet and get my heating system replaced. I chose a Trane unit and they had it ready for install the next day. I did not meet George personally on this call, but everything about the install looks clean and professional. I’m sure George is the same. I have used Dave Lane for at least the last decade. Since they merged with another company within the last year or so, they do not have the same integrity that they used to. They no longer have the few loyal employees that you could always count on to give you good, ethical advice and instead they now have different people that they send out every time they visit. This past visit they said we needed a new thermostat and increased the price by 75%. I had to call them back out to put in the thermostat we had originally asked for. I was also given a long list of things that I needed to fix and when calling another company out, they stated that none of it needed to be done. They are using scare tactics to try and get more money. I will not be using them again and will no longer recommend them as they are not the small, reliable company that they used to be.
My husband and I could have have been happier with Joe and Chris. On top of being professional, they were extremely educational. We replaced all of our ducts and everything they did they explained it in detail to my husband to make sure we understood our system. Will definitely call them for any AC/heating needs. We recently remodeled a kitchen and bathroom and all of those sub contractors were rough and aggressive and caused damage in our house and never cleaned after themselves. Joe and Chris were very considerate of our house and did a great job cleaning up any mess they made. That meant a lot to us.
Installation was great, but disorganized. They pulled my old unit at 9 AM in the morning and didnt get the replacement unit in until 2 PM and the guys waited around all day for the new one to show up.

After almost a decade of using Dave Lane, I am not using them anymore simply because of their shockingly bad attitude I received when they canceled 30 minutes into their schedule service appointment. I told them it was extremely difficult for me to take off work and their attitude was too bad. I wasnt able to stay any later than the original appointment window due to another appointment I couldnt reschedule after them. They told me I can take off another day and wait for them. There was no offer of a discount or much of an apology for the inconvenience and missed work. There was plenty of attitude though. I dont know what happened to Dave Lane AC because I used to consider them 5 stars and dependable but they completely destroyed it in one phone call.As they point out in their response below, they arent responsible if they dont show up to the appointment. If you have lost wages or any other inconvenience because of it, tough luck. Its the customers responsibility to be more understanding of them and jump through hoops to be their customer.

Dave Lane is top notch A/C service. We had several A/C providers come out to give us quotes for a zoning system for my 2-story house. Dave Lane’s technician was the best at explaining what needed to change and answering questions. They took time to explain all that went into a zoning system. Next was the actual service! Excellent Service! Came out on a Friday evening after hours. Sadly, our compressor was DEAD! Joe returned on Saturday morning w/ 2 portable A/C units to hold us thru the weekend. What a life saver! I used Hi-Tech for a second opinion. My AC wasnt cooling well. The first place I used said it was low on freon but found no leak (added freon). About 5 weeks later it started to not keep up again. Called Hi-Tech (because of a referral) to have a second opinion. Tyler found the problem. It was the coils in the attic. It was coming up on a holiday weekend so he charged it up so the AC would work over the weekend until they could replace the coils. Didnt charge for the initial visit or the freon. Christian came out after the weekend and did the install. He did a very nice clean install in the attic. He even cleaned up the mess that another crew from another AC service had left.So to sum it up..... Great job, great service and a fair price! I found my new AC guys. Oh, they also came out on time when they said they would and called before they got there.update (2 years ish later).....Had Tyler come out to check everything, since it is so hot outside ( 102 degrees in July). Still great! Dave Lanes is a pleasure to do business with.

We have been customers of Dave Lane A/C & Heating for many years, even long before they merged with Hi-Tech Mechanical. Today Luis Miranda and another technician came to our home to replace our air conditioning and heating system. They arrived when we expected them, rolled out the red carpets, and began to work. We thought it was going to be an all-day job, but by mid-afternoon, they were completely finished and had let the new system run long enough to lower the temperature in the house and remove some of the moisture from the air. They gave us paperwork for our new system and the thermostat and explained how the thermostat works. Luis also told us that he had connected the thermostat to the unit in the attic so it will run on electricity and not need batteries periodically. Both men worked hard and did an excellent job for us. They even swept the floors after removing the red carpet. We are very pleased.We sign up in January of each year for the twice-a-year maintenance agreement offered to customers, and we learned that we would need a new system when Jesse Ojeda, who has serviced our unit at a previous home for many years, came out to do the Spring Check-Up. We had asked Jesse to inspect the unit before we bought this house last year, and at that time, he found a small freon leak and told us the approximate age of the unit. This year the freon leak had increased, and Jesse asked Ryan Golightly, Comfort Specialist Manager, to come out and determine the source of the leak. Ryan found the source and told us what our options were. We decided it would be best in the long run to replace the entire system, both the a/c and heating.We thank everyone at Dave Lane Hi-Tech Mechanical who was involved in our upgrade today for a great job!Rafael & Janet Hernandez
I have used them twice for service so I decided to get a quote for a heating and A/C install. They came out and spent about 30 minutes looking at my current system and gave me three options each with finance or cash/credit card.There was no pressure and they explained everything in the quote. I was looking for a long term solution and not just throw something together and hope for the best. Other than the ducting, there would be nothing left of my current system. I wanted something that would work and that is exactly what they proposed.I could not be more pleased with the install. Four guys worked from 8 to 6 pm and did an excellent job. Cleaned everything up and it was like they were never here.I am confident that my home will be more comfortable and the whole house filter and additional air return will pay for itself over time. They are simply a good company to do business with.

I was very happy with professionalism and knowledge of the staff and techs. AC Diagnostic was well priced and service was quick and hassle free. The technicians know what to do and how to fix your ac issues, giving you the entire scope before proceeding with repairs. While sometimes it is difficult to determine AC problems, we were not charged for a return diagnostic and were very happy with the service performed.
Called last minute on a Saturday. Made it to the house in an hour. Fixed the problem efficiently and restored our AC. I would definitely recommend them for your HVAC needs.

Even though my current system has had many issues over the past 10 years (The unit I used was not their fault, I speced the system), they have had quick, reasonably priced service. The technician who performed the Spring A/C check was very professional and thorough as always. I appreciated that his photo was sent via email and he called ahead of arrival, which was on time. Since he had to add more refrigerant than usual, he recommended a leak test to determine if repairs would be necessary to prevent future problems.
A/C not cooling so repairman was called just before 4pm and he arrived by 4:30pm.He found gloat switch clogged so replaced float switch anc cleared drain line. He did a check of blower evaporator coil etc.to be sure system working properly.He emailed invoice after payment made but invoice does not have cost itemized on it which I did not question since I thought it would be there when my I printed the invoice. I will now have to call for the cost of work done since all I know for sure is the weekend cost of 135.00 out of the 409.00 invoice.Work was great and quick - thank you very much!Judy Potts.
I had a great experience with Tyler. Very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. My a/c is running great. During the hot Houston summer and the COVID pandemic this is a real necessity. I work from home and they made it a priority to get thing’s fixed ASAP. I would highly recommend their services.
Jesse is the BEST. Restore my faith in humankind. Came out same day as we were without AC in Houston Tx. Was able to reset thrmostat when another company did not even come out and wanted me to spend $1,000 on a new Trane thermostat. I showed my how my entire system works.
