From the first point of contact at the outset of the recent cold blast that affected Texas, Houk AC has treated me like gold. The first technician was dispatched that same day after a very attentive and compassionate telephone operator heard my concern and addressed it. He arrived early evening, as the day had been busy. He was attentive and thorough; compassionate and understanding. He conveyed his findings to the home office as he left and the next day I received a follow up call to make an appointment for further assessment and rectifying of the issue. The second technician was here as scheduled (I had to address an issue on my end that would facilitate his job), by which time it had just started to warm up. In any event, this young expert was punctual, patient, attentive, thorough, compassionate and with a high level of integrity. It was a breath of fresh air to see this level of professionalism from one who is young both in age and time in this field. It was also refreshing to have experienced the fact that ones (young) age should not be a deterrent to giving people the opportunity to show what they can do. The problem was identified and corrected, all within approximately 2- to 2 1/2 hours. At the beginning as well as at the end, he was sure to ask if I noticed a difference in the temperature of the house; and, I did!! Thank you Nathan! Kudos, Houk AC.
My ac went out and Tracy Scott was the best technician I’ve ever had service my home! He was so kind, funny, professional and extremely informative. Showed me every part and issue and answered all my questions and gave me some very good tips and hacks. He took his time even though it was late and ensure the job was done correctly. Tech found the issue within minutes and took even less time to repair! Excellent operational service. Zero stars for wait time. Was advised around 12:43pm to expect a tech with no time range given (not great). Tech arrived after 6pm. This isnt horrible but no provided time range made for a long day.
I’ve had same issue for their visits. First visit during freeze and the technician supposedly fixed it but the same issue with the blower resurfaced and this week the technician had to come out again and gave his best, bandaged the problem but did not cure it. I am not satisfied and waiting for the problem to surface again. The parts should have been replaced, not manipulated. The company is good, the technicians are well mannered but if they cannot provide the “proper fix” to the consumer’s complaints then it will not look good for the company.

Customer BEWARE!I recently had a frustrating experience with Houk AC Company regarding the repair of my in-warranty air conditioning unit, which is less than a year old. Unfortunately, the lack of urgency displayed by their team has left me extremely disappointed.When I reached out for assistance, I was met with an unprofessional and unpleasant attitude from a customer service representative named Marissa. Instead of providing the support I needed, she seemed indifferent to my situation, showing a disturbing lack of empathy. My family and I were told we would have to endure the sweltering 87-degree heat in our home while we waited for a repair. To make matters worse, we were informed that it could take up to four days for someone to even look into the issue.It’s incredibly disheartening to feel ignored and undervalued as a customer, especially when dealing with something as essential as air conditioning in the summer. I expected more from a company that I trusted to provide quality service and support. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction.I hope Houk AC Company reevaluates their customer service approach and prioritizes urgent repairs, especially for units that are still under warranty. I cannot recommend their services based on my experience.

Tech, Miguel, was very friendly and easy to work with. He wore booties so he wouldnt track dirt in my home. He also took the time to check for carbon monoxide. He was very efficient. Also gave me notice when he was 30 minutes away before arriving.
I received a prompt and courteous annual service check. Roobens was thorough and also changed my filter for me. He also gave me a 30 minute heads up about his arrival via text. Very satisfied.
My heater would not turn on. When I called Houk A/C the person said it would not turn on unless the thermostat was set at 72F. This didnt make sense, as the heater always turns on as long as room temp is lower that the set temp...but oh well. I still scheduled a tech, who came and fixed the blower which had a setting issue. He also confirmed the heater always turns on as long as room temp is lower that the set temp. 3 stars for the receptionist assessment.
DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! O/10! You definitely need to steer clear of this company. I have previously written a review because they have been out to my house. I recorded 50 times and I have the receipts to prove it from day one that I moved in a brand new house until current my air conditioner has not worked right. Upon those 50 visits all they did was constantly add insulation extend pipes add vents, add intake ducks. They’ve literally done everything EXCEPT fix it. I then got a home efficiency inspection done with the report in hand I sent to Management who didn’t even have the decency to respond with all the issues wrong with the air conditioner. I see that everyone else has gotten a response on their review however nobody bothered to respond to mine because it’s just that bad! Even had the top manager come out and assure me that things were going to be fixed only to never hear or see him again. The management there especially Chris is God awful to speak to horrible attitude. Nothing is their fault. Everything is your fault. All of this was under warranty then they tried to come and tell me that they could no longer service it because the warranty had run out but the last time I checked the warranty covers from the time it is working properly. This unit has never worked properly, so how can my warranty run out on some thing that was given to me not working properly in the first place? I mean the warranty is after all for new appliances that work the warranty covers if anything goes wrong if it’s not working from day one then I haven’t been given a proper unit therefore, the warranty shouldn’t run out until I am given some thing that actually works . They have also changed out my dehumidifier replaced the vents numerous times not once but numerous because of rust from the condensation. I’ve had mold all over my ceiling. They would come play around in the attic doing nothing or at least they said they were doing something, but I still had the problem so in my eyes, they did nothing and then they would leave and then you have to call and get back on the schedule meaning it’s another couple weeks before they come out The entire time my humidity was between 70 and 90% humidity in my house!!!!!!!! I’ve had damage to my cabinets damage to my tile floors where the rust dripped on them. Whoever is in charge of this company absolutely has no business dealing with the public and as far as upper management same goes for them. Living in Texas with Texas heat, you would think an HVAC company would be able to do a little better than this, but 50 visits with nothing being fixed only more problems is beyond comprehension to me. There is no level of professionalism at this company. Unfortunately, this seems to be just another company that is interested in money grabs because every time they come out even under warranty, they were charging the builders, but nothing has been done. I’ve had so much condensation in my house. It was dripping down the cabinets, my microwave door when I opened it water poured out. I could go on and on this has been an absolute nightmare and the last time I called them it’s been months and they still haven’t returned my call. They haven’t responded to the inspection report. I sent them. They have no intention of doing right by their customers, they have no intention of doing The right thing in general. They have no intention of doing quality work. They are pathetic and you need to stay away at all cost. You will only be left with disappointment! I have had to contact an attorney who is getting things together to see what my next move is and I am also contacting the BBB because this is literally outrageous. Somebody should just throw away the whole damn business. They are terrible and inconsiderate. UPDATE: I had whole thing replaced. Wrong size units! MOLD INSIDE UNIT and DUCTS. Backwards installed dehumidifier and air ducts were the wrong size for vents they were attached to. They knew this!! Both companies I got for estimate said NO WAY THEY DIDN’T KNOW!!!! Pathetic

Houk installed my HVAC system when we built our house. Three and a half years later we had cooling issues so I called them to see if they could come out and check the system. I was told it would be 4 weeks before they could come out. I told the person who took my call that our a/c was not cooling and we could not wait 4 weeks because in was 95 degrees outside. She told me that they could not get to me any sooner. This is unacceptable service. I called another a/c service and they were here the same day.
Miguel was fantastic once he called me on the phone I knew was good at his job. I rarely experience service like I’m so pleased and would recommend Miguel to anyone.
It took 6 visits for them to fix an air balancing issue. Not because the issue was complicated, but because they kept sending the wrong people to do the work and had to constantly reschedule. For example, they needed to send someone to swap some ducts around in the plenum but they sent an air balancing team. When they did get the right team to do the duct swapping, they decided to do something completely different because it was too much work to do the duct swap. After they finished doing the wrong thing, I had insulation blowing through the vents for a few days and they never cleaned up after themselves in the attic leaving insulation disturbed (not moved back) and trash everywhere. Plus, they thing they did, did nothing to solve the issue.I think there are communication issues between people who come out from previous visits and the dispatching of new people. Sometimes they would send someone to my house and when I asked if they knew what they were supposed to do, they would say no. I then had to explain the work that needed to be done which is something that should be in the work notes or passed down from their dispatching. For example, on another occasion, they installed a dehumidifier for me and had to schedule someone to come back to install a relay for it on another day. When that person showed up, they didnt know what the job was, they didnt have a relay in their van to install, and they had to reschedule.If you get the right person or people to do the work, they tend to do a good job. The problem is getting the right people. Moses & Trasheia (and their partners) are great at air balancing and very helpful. Ask for them if you need an air balance. If you need a supervisor for any other work, I recommend Oscar as he was the one who eventually fixed my issue.
Big shoutout to Hauk for a job well done. Though it took some time, back to back calls to discuss, find a root cause, and scheuling appointments can take a week, maybe two, the team came in, did a proper assessment of the problem, explained and answered my questions; and then fixed the AC problem by doing a good air balance. My dryer vent issue was also resolved by the team. I must say that I am very satisfied with the outcome. Johnny Shelton and James Young are solid professionals who are awesome at what they do. I will give them a five star and recommend then always. Thank you, Hauk.

Bad customer serviceThey want you to set down and wait all day at home for them to come and take a look at you equipment that they installed / plus the technician said that there is something wrong with the AC sound and he decided to leave without fixing so I call them and go through another payment for diagnostic fee!!!!!! I am only using them cause my builder used them I have one more paid service with them that I have to deal with them one more time and I will never get in contact with them again and next home I am building I will make sure that they do not touch my home. They performed a balancing and inspection service on our fairly new Highland Home and did a great job. They called and gave us notice of their arrival time and Moses and James were very thorough, efficient and professional.
Our experience with Houk AC Company has been a nightmare from start to finish. Not only did their improper installation lead to serious health issues for our family, but when we attempted to address the issue, the managers response was shockingly rude and dismissive. Instead of taking accountability for their mistakes, the manager had the audacity to blame us for not purchasing a UV light from them and suggested we seek help elsewhere. This level of disregard for customer safety and satisfaction is unacceptable. Steer clear of this company unless you want to endure unnecessary stress, health hazards, and disrespectful treatment. Their management was incredibly rude and dismissive. Its appalling how they refuse to take responsibility for the problems they created in the first place. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this company at all costs. There are plenty of other reputable HVAC companies out there who actually care about their customers and stand behind their work.

Advised the technician that our furnace had a red indicator light flashing stating there was something wrong with the burner failing to light (as per the indication panel by the manufacturer) but did not even bother to check it out and stated that it is normal.

They came out to the house twice - first time to evaluate and investigate the problem, the second time they came back to fix it (parts needed to be ordered). Both times, whether its been the A/C techs, like Josh, Eric Sr. or Justin, theyve have good attitudes, are friendly, easy to work with, and even offer maintenance tips. Ive found the office staff to be friendly and helpful as well.Had to wait a while for the parts to come in but no complaints with the communication or level of service. Would recommend.

Monopoly. They set thermostats in Houston to go no lower than 72. In order for you to be able to sleep at night with a lower temp, you have to call them, sign an affidavit, invalidate warranty and WAIT A WEEK for that to happen! Plus you have to pay them $115 to do it! 😡 ZERO stars if possible.

They were the installers of our A/C unit for our new build in Grand Central Park. We had one damper fail for the downstairs already. had to have someone else service it because of the length of time it would take for them to come out and replace it. For the upstairs the soonest they could come out is 30 days after my call. Two dampers failed within 2 years of owning a home, and it takes a month to get someone to come service/replace/warranty the issue? What a joke. Stay far, far away.
Had Victor from Houk AC out for a warranty call today and was really impressed with his knowledge and resolve. Was able to troubleshoot and correct an issue that was completely unexpected. Will definitely call again, even post-warranty.
Houk and Centex worked as an amazing team to help fix an issue that abruptly shut down my unit in late July. I cant thank Houk, their dispatch (Amanda, I believe - UPDATE: Her name was Christy, my apologies), the Centex rep and the Houk tech (Stanley O.) who came out of his way, explained everything and fixed the issue. My kiddos and I are so grateful.

Worst customer service ever and they do not care. We are going on 5 days with no AC and it’s 90 degrees inside our house. They cannot tell us when the part needed will be available and get annoyed when you call for an update. I’ve never waited this long for a fix before
My house has extreme condensation, unit is leaking, and no air flow balance. My house had floor coming up and my closet was soaked due to the leaking from the unit. We had to have an commercial air purifier and commercial fan blowing for 4 days. Our wall was ripped bc of all the water damage. We have been dealing with this issue for 3 months. 4 different technicians have showed up. One tech said they were going to write a ticket for a supervisor to come and we took that day off and on that same day they claim the ticket was never confirmed so no supervisor showed up. So we scheduled a supervisor to come 2/3 weeks later. Fast forward to Today (6/14/24) supervisor is supposed to show up after 12pm. Well right before the appt they said they supervisor will not show up but they will send a technician. We told them we do not need a tech as 5 other techs have come other times and could not resolve the issue. They asked throughout the early afternoon if we still need a tech which was weird bc yes we need our ac serviced. Tech shows up, 4pm and we still are being told the same story and they can not resolve the issue after looking at everything. Not only can we not afford to keep taking days off of work but I can’t keep rescheduling my medical appointments as I have severe anemia.
The guys came at 8:45pm to make sure my AC was back to working!! Very much appreciated gentlemen!!

We have been patiently waiting for atechnician to install the coil. Its been five days since I began anticipating their arrival at my home, yet there has been no communication or visit from them. The initial schedule was set for Monday, and I dedicated the entire day to be available. However, upon contacting them on Tuesday, they assured me of a new schedule for that day. Despite my anticipation, Tuesday came and went without any sign of their presence.On Wednesday morning, I made another call and was informed that they had rescheduled once more for that day. However, the day passed without any technician arriving. This pattern continued as I placed calls on both Thursday and Friday, each time receiving promises of scheduled visits that never materialized. Despite their repeated commitments, there has been no sighting of a technician or even a follow-up call.This extended wait of five days has left me disheartened by their approach to addressing the issue. Unfortunately, their inability to resolve the problem promptly is causing great inconvenience, particularly given the scorching temperatures above 100°F we are experiencing daily. Compounded by the fact that they are closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), my only recourse is to reach out again on Monday morning.Its important to highlight that this situation is particularly disappointing considering that the coil was replaced just two years ago and had been functioning adequately until recently. I am left with no choice but to express my dissatisfaction with this experience and hope for a swift resolution.

Houk service techs are great but the customer service is terrible. I made an appointment over a week ago and on the day of the appointment, I was told the tech will come out after 1 pm. Its now9:50 pm and a no show . If they were never going to show up, I could gone with a different company and saved me time. The customer service person who did finally call me to tell me she can rebook 2 weeks out . All the negative reviews were correct. Avoid this company .
Im unsurprised by the negative feedback regarding Houk. Theyve installed HVAC systems with the builder in many homes in our Cypress neighborhood, but disappointingly, improper installations abound. Whats worse, they seem unwilling to acknowledge fault, instead suggesting we seek maintenance elsewhere. Its frustrating dealing with installation issues created by Houk.

Set an appointment for tune-up and they called to say they would be later than expected my appointment time approx. 7pm. When I relayed I would rather the first appointment slot in the morning I was given the okay. When no one had reached my by 1 the following day I called them and was told We had no record of your appointment moving. No one saw you yesterday? Its a circus.
It has been a week already that I raised issue about my master bedroom AC not cooling and these guys have terribel customer service folks, totally dead slow, If I become their manager, I will fire all these unprofessional folks and outsource work to some responsible people. Secondly I will take regular feedback from the customers about their cooling and heating system for any ongoing issues so that I make sure the technicians are doing their job well and not just getting free money.
I reached out to the company due to a balancing issue within my home and within 48 hours I had a technician at my door. Eric was the tech sent to my house arriving on time, maintained professionalism, and was eager to address any concerns. The technician permitted me to express my concerns and ensured me that the matter would be resolved. Upon completion of his inspection, the tech informed me of the issue and the method he would use to correct my unit. The fact he was detailed and took the time to inform me of the problem brought a sense of relief. It is always great to encounter individuals with such positive mindsets and love what they do.Great Customer Service.

And then 3 weeks went by before we heard anything - and we only heard back because I called several times. On going two months now. No response. No calls. No updates. They installed ac units in Marvida so we are trying to get warranty work done. At this point, we will just pay out of pocket. Do not deal with these people.

I would have to say that this is the worst mistake ever made using these people I had them installed a new unit unit went down in about 30 minutes after installation they told me that they have to wait for the warranty part to come in that took them over one month . I told him to swap it out with a new one because it was only in for 30 minutes and they refused and had to wait for warranty I would have to call every day in order to try to find out if the part was there or not I talked to a manager named Chris don’t waste your time talking to him it’s worthless. Do not waste your time using his company or wasting your money. Now I have to deal with them for the next five years for my warranty on my AC unit worst amistake I ever made to try and save $100. Do you have to pay for service from these people you do not get a Customer service for free.I should have read the reviews before huge mistake.Move on to another place
Worst experience with this company… it’s been months since we moved into our new build and we have had too many issues. Worst part Jon Garcia or Randall the mangers won’t call us back or anyone let us know when the work will be done and repairs made. It’s too hot for them to not fix these issues for their customers. Shotty work! Don’t hire them. Sucks our builder chose them to do our home.

Monday October 2nd, 6:28 AM you have a driver so close to my rear I can’t see headlights. I was doing 75-80 flowing with traffic when they shoot over 4 lanes and proceed to try to get around traffic. As he couldn’t go anywhere I went ahead and gave him his thumbs up on accomplishing nothing. Then moved behind the vehicle and they brake check me down to 30 mph in the center lane of Sam Houston Tollway. I have front and rear dash cam footage of it all. Nothing bad against your company’s services, just teach them how to drive before they kill somebody.. I can go back and watch the footage to pull a vehicle number if you’d like.
I am giving one star as zero stars is not an option. Houk AC has been unresponsive at best and dishonest at worst. My upstairs A/C was not cooling and I was advised by my builder to contact them. The customer service rep that answered first advised me to change out the air filters or else my warranty would not cover the repairs. I knew my filters were fine, but just to humor them, I went home and confirmed that the filters were clean, and then they scheduled the service. By this time, 2 days had gone by. The technician came out to my home and observed that the compressor was bad, and promised that he would be back the next day to change it out. It took another 4 days before someone came back out, and then proceeded to tell me that there was another part that was broken, and that it would need to be ordered. Fast forward another 3 days and I get a call asking for the best time to schedule my service. We agreed a time, but alas, my nightmare was not yet to end. No one came. When I called back to check on the status of my service order, the representative that answered told me that there was no evidence that my service had been scheduled. When I dared to complain, she proceeded to remind me that I had 2 A/C units in the home, implying that I had no basis to complain at the dismal service, since I had options to keep my family cool. Overall, my experience with Houk can only be described as unfortunate, and their representatives need a lesson in empathy. Terrible!!
We are waiting to see your tech installed coil. Last 5 days i m looking but they are not reach me or came my home. They scheduled monday, i m waiting all day the. Then i call Tuesday, they says schedule today. I am waiting Tuesday as well , they not reach me. Then i called Wednesday morning they says scheduled today. I m waiting . They didnt . I called again on Thursday and Friday as well same. They scheduled but i did see any tech or call. We waiting last 5 days. I m not like their approach and resolve the problem. Saturday and Sunday they are closed. I need to call Monday morning. What i can do, they replace coil two year back. Its running last year . Now here above 100 f everyday..

My A/C went out on 9.3.2023 after a little over 2 years. I called the company and a lady name Alisha called me back. She was very rude, very unprofessional, very unpleasant and she said she was not going to send anyone out to check the A/C and I should find someone else. Is this the kind of people this coming is hiring? I am very disappointed and displeased with HOEK, and I will never ever recommend your company to anyone!!! Totally dissatisfied customer

Consistent coil issues that they make us pay for. We have had the system for 4 years and we have to call it in every winter. Someone finally showed us, 4 years later, how to set up system correctly.
They did replace the HVAC motor and never gave me a breakdown of those charges.. I reached out multiple times and it’s been more than 3 months and didn’t got response. Their hourly labor charge is on the higher side and technician took more time than needed. Only reason I took their service is they installed HVAC from the builder and the design is bad where a few of rooms stay colder/hotter than the other rooms. Don’t recommend based on my experience
I would rate higher than 5 star if it was available. They went over and beyond to find a Bluetooth thermostat that works in my hot room at YogaOne Kingwood. They have added sleep and time to my life which makes me a very happy business owner. I highly recommend for your business or home. Every person that I have encountered was so nice and on time! This company is the absolute worst. They train little to none, but make very clear that technicians need to lie and not let homeowners know issues with their systems. Not only that but their technicians and all staff are extremely disrespectful. Randall which is the head of Houk at Houston locations knows very well that techs drink alcohol while on the job. For experience I had a technician come out not to long ago to change my coil upstairs, and the tech smelled strong to alcohol and slurred with his speech, as he left my house he dropped by accident a can of bud light on my driveway, I wish I had the picture to post, but I dont have it at the moment, John who is the service manager forgets his meetings and doesnt care about homeowners and their warranty.

Jorge our technician does a great job! Our system has had some issues, and he had been very careful to figure out what needs to be done to keep our 4 units running perfectly. He is very thoughtful and uses covers over his shoes whenever he is inside the house. I wish all technicians were as well trained, knowledgeable and as pleasant as he is.
I do not recommend this company at all, we have had issues with our ac and dehumidifier that were all installed by them. Our dehumidifier went out (the part was covered but we had to pay over $500 in labor) when they installed the new one they put in in backwards. We have called them out about 5 times due to a leak that is caused by our ductwork being installed incorrectly and 3 of those times they never showed up, they didn’t even call to say they weren’t coming. We have called many times and were told that someone would be in contact which never happened. Unless you have some form of warranty through them I’d probably use anyone else.
I have received extremely poor service from this company. For over 3wks I have been given the run around on scheduling a crew for AC service at my residence. When a service technician is dispatched he is I equipped to complete any service work which makes the visit pointless. When I call the local service center for escalated support I have often received the option to only leave messages and get the dreaded “someone will follow up with you..” line. No one ever follows up on the end of this business. Imagine being in Texas with 100 degree weather and your AC is not working properly to cool your house and your AC company drags their feet to provide you timely and efficient resolution. Very frustrating. If my AC was not under warranty with this company I would not use them. I will be sharing my experience with my HOA in hopes that my preferred builder drop their partnership with this AC company because they seem to not have a clue about how to manage the daily obligations/resolutions of AC customers.
Great service! Ive had Houk out to repair both my A/C in summer and my gas furnace in winter. When I called, they were able to get servicemen out the same day, and they were thorough, professional, and competent. The first time I used Houk, they were able to find and repair a leak that another service company had completely missed.
Jorge was quick to check for issues and yet thorough with his approach. While I requested service for one system he went ahead and checked the other as well. I’m not sure on the need for a maintenance contract, or HOUK scheduling separate visits (and therefore charges), but their technicians are good people and Jorge did more than I asked for.
Rude customer service and customer service that doesnt listen; not at all responsive.Used builder warranty service for a new home with HVAC system designed and installed by HOUK. One of the rooms in the home was significantly warmer than the entire home. Requested an air balancing to move air into the warm room. HOUK sent out a technician to measure the temperature (which I was told is standard practice). Technician determined air balancing was needed. Air balancing team was sent out and issue is still not resolved. At the time of the writing of this review, it has been over 3 business days since I was told by customer service that I would be contacted by HOUK. Im yet to be contacted.It is now over two months since the first service request was made. There is yet to be a resolution.Overall waste of my time. Maybe this is an isolated incident, but if I had an option, I will not do business with HOUK.
I called them to review the HVAC system and its balance. They attended the appointment as scheduled, arrived on time, and wearing the proper health safety personal protection. They did a professional work and explained to me the right way to set the thermostats for energy-efficient use. I recommend them for any assistance.
These guys are the absolute best. We are in a new David weekly home and I asked for them to come out and fix something that I thought was a problem but turned out to be nothing… Instead the technician decided to check the entire system and made several adjustments that made our AC system work 100% better! They responded immediately, came out exactly when they said they were supposed to, the techs were super nice and were super quick… Best A/C company weve ever used.
The service and visit was not a good experience at all. When the tech came to work on my heating system it was the week we experience the freezing temperatures there I felt they quoted me a higher price than normal. So I call them back and asked for labor price per hour and the would not give me a quote also I told them that I seen a 10% coupon on their website why wasnt I offered it especially when the have the maintenance contract for our entire subdivision with over 700 houses and the said we have to ask for the discount really.
!!!!!!!!!DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!’This company installed the ac units for the home I purchased 3 years ago. The day before our warranty was to go out, we called the company bc multiple people in our neighborhood were having issues with their coils being broken. The company comes out, claims everything was fine. Two weeks later (warranty now expired) our home is 80 degrees inside. We call them back, and they said I’m sorry your warranty is expired. So we call a company we trusted to come out and look at our ac unit. Come to find out not only were our coils broken, but they were leaking along with multiple other issues that were apparently pretty major. Per the trusted AC company, this was done purposefully because our warranty was out. I am looking at over $4,000 in repair bills after this company came out. (Keep in mind this was a check up that they were doing)I’m DISGUSTED with the customer service I received from HOUK AC. This companies “manager” tells me my family sitting in an 80 degree home with a baby is irrelevant and someone will call me on Monday. The woman was so unprofessional, she actually referred to me as “girl” several times on the phone.Do NOT EVER trust your families safety to this company.
Had a very unpleasant experience with a customer service agent after the technician was a no-show with a scheduled service call. Once I spoke to someone else, the technician who showed up a few days later was professional and thorough.
Called for a thermostat that was completely offline in a 6mo old Westin home. The office scheduled me between 9-1 for the next day. Jorge called to let me know he was on his way and was even slightly early. Wore a mask and was very polite. Identified and fixed the issue within 5-10 minutes. Went into the attic to check the system; I guess just to be thorough since he already fixed the problem. Made a quick recommendation about filters unsolicited, which I was extremely appreciative of. He didn’t have to do that. And was gone a little over 15 mins from the time he arrived.
We had a slight issue with air flow at our new home in our master bedroom and we called Houk Air yesterday and they set up an appointment for today. The repair technicians just left and fixed our problem. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Excellent customer service. I highly recommend Houk Air Conditioning of Houston for any of your air conditioning needs.

You better hope your builder doesnt mess up and saddle you to these guys. Theyre ABSOLUTELY AWFUL to deal with. They dont show up on time, came out to fix something and made it worse, and their customer service person Samantha is rude and incompassionate.
Jorge has been servicing our HVAC unit for almost three years. He is always prompt and very courteous. He does a very complete evaluation of the unit. I appreciate the fact that he is concerned about being neat inside the house. Last spring, in an effort to pull down the attic stairs, the rope broke. He found a replacement and fixed that for me. He does a great job with the HVAC system. I trust him completely in being honest and fair. He goes beyond an ordinary service call.
The technician arrived early and was very professional and friendly. I have just moved into a new home and needed the air balanced in the master bedroom and bathroom. The technician explained step by step the process and answered every question I had about how to maintain the air quality in my home. Would definitely recommend Houk Air Conditioning and the technician, Carlos Gonzales.
Worst AC company that I have ever used. The techs need alot more education when it comes to AC and heating. I know more than they do! When a customer tells them the issue and they appear to be shocked, its time to go elsewhere for certified experienced techs! It took them over one year to fix an issue they caused. Its still not fixed/resolved. Mold and mildew. Condensation from improper installation in the attic on all counts.
Houk installed our entire AC system with our builder. We had a dehumidifier installed recently and the team was amazing. I had an existing ecobee 3 thermostat that I wanted to keep using and they worked hard to make sure that worked. They were clean, professional, and work completed quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend Houk for your AC needs.
Houk has done a great job of reminding me when my service is due under my maintenance contract, and my technician Carlos who came today was very professional and even a few minutes early (which never happens!). They are an easy company to do business with and I would recommend them for all your HVAC needs.
Houk services the warranty on my Westin home in Jordan Ranch. The technicians are nice and polite enough but the actual service leaves a lot to be desired.Since moving in in March, there have been persistent humidity, temperature issues, and a musty smell in the stairwell that we paid out of pocket to make sure wasnt mold. They have come out 6 times and the problems still persist. The last guy now thinks that they installed the wrong size cold air return when building but wasnt confident that was the answer to the issues. I emailed a manager there stating my converns but he never contacted me, and been waiting all week for a notification that they are ready to come back out.Really unhappy.
Jorge, my technician arrived on time and was very thorough. He changed out my dirty old filter and made sure my AC was working correctly. He also washed out the metal cage housing outside to clean it of bugs and dirt so the unit would work efficiently. He is a credit and asset to Houk AC. Very professional.
Absolutely do not use this company.They installed my air conditioner incorrectly and it has been leaking into my forth bedroom. They never fully processed my payment & when they called to tell me that they refused to talk to me because they had my mothers name on file instead of mine so I had no idea. I missed ONE email about it & had zero voicemails (I checked). They are refusing to fix their work which is now causing damage to my house. I’m pretty sure they’re liable for the damage to my house for their faulty air conditioner. I still haven’t heard back from Paula in two days and this is urgent. My two babies are freezing because we can’t turn on the heat since it’s malfunctioning & Paula has not reached out like she said she woukd.
Daniel showed up on time and was very courteous. He also paid attention to detail as well as making sure they did not leave a mess. I will definitely use this company in the future if my unit needs servicing.
Collin was on time and explained everything to me so I understood what had happened. He also offered several options and helped me decide what would best benefit my family in the long run. Amazing work and we will use this company again.

My AC on my new home wasnt working properly. It was cooling downstairs but no air was coming from the vents upstairs. The tech from Houk AC came out looked at the wires and new exactly what was wrong. He explained everything thoroughly to my husband and myself so we were well informed. It was quick and easy and now our AC finally works as it should!!
We have had people come out twice to figure out what was going on. Both techs were nice and professional and worked quickly. My only negative is the first time they were supposed to come out they called us around 9pm saying he was on his way & we had to reschedule bc that was too late.

Houk installed our AC for our new home built by Taylor Morrison. Our upstairs AC has never been able to keep up. We had them out here the first year several times and they made tweaks but ultimately acted like we didnt know what we were talking about and said the AC was fine. One of their employees even rolled his eyes at us. Our AC was 2 years old this April. We are now being told by other AC companies that the unit for our upstairs cant keep up because it is undersized. We have almost 1500 sq ft and only a 2 ton unit. Now we are going to have to buy a new larger unit thanks to this company. Do not use them and if your builder uses them make them get someone else.

Horrible craftsmanship. Condensation in the attic.Update: On August 16, 2019 a technician came and assess my attic units for condensation since I moved in to Lago mar March. This is the third warranty ticket I put in for this same issue. He proceeded to tell me that a manager will contact me on August 19 to discuss possible resolutions and that they will show up at my house on August 22 for a follow visit. NO call on August 19 and NO show August 22!! Horrible horrible company!!.
Houk Air conditioning is a great company with great customer service . I had Jorge and Collin to come and service my home and they did an excellent and I respect that their knowledge of air conditioning systems. I definitely recommend to anyone out there and would use again!
Houk has done been to my home 30+ Plus times and still hasn’t fixed a single thing. If my home wasn’t under warranty and my builder didn’t use Houk I wouldn’t use them!!Update one year later!One year later many many many calls for Houk to come out our A/C is still not fixed. I have dealt with hold issues, high humidity, and leaks through ceiling. Houk still can’t figure out what is wrong why my humidity is so high. They tried saying it was my thermostat reading wrong which I told them I wouldn’t pay for so they changed it free of charge, here I am a week later and it’s still reading the same as the old one. They have done changed so many parts and still don’t know what it is. Whatever you do stay farrrrr farrrrr farrrrr away from this company!!!

They lack communication if you are waiting on parts and dont keep people updated. When I called them they kept mentioning the cost as if they were implying that I dont have the money to cover the cost!!! FYI I do, its 2021 single women homeowners got money too!!!! I found someone else to install a whole new ac system. Not by Lennox but by Goodman!!! Which is a better system anyway!!!! If Houk, leave you in limbo like they did me do yourself a favor and find someone else. My new AC guy said that he called Lennox and they said that no one didnt even put a warranty claim on my AC parts that needed to be repaired. Find someone that dont play games and laugh at you when you call them back.

Let me help u choose..this place sucksi have techs lie and say that I canceled appointments because it was too late,who would cancel if they are hot not any sane person i know.I waited all day and then they want to reschedule this is worse company lie after lie and no one not even the manager can get control of the employees dont waste ur time.Poor communications,no respect guest,all lies and if u do use them beacuse ur dumb get a copy of receipt otherwise they dont put notes in the system so they cant remember if they ever been to ur house or notS.o Im trying to help u dont bother u will regret it.
Worst service. They came out Friday afternoon, my A.C. is out because control power to my thermostat is gone. Charged me 85 dollars to come out and let me know that a breaker I already knew about was broken. I had inquired about shimming the drain pan to help it more efficiently drain. Was told that its normal for water to pool and corrode everything. Next they wanted to charge me 140$ for a 40$ dollar breaker and couldnt gaurentee that would fix the problem, and on top of that Id have to wait till Monday for their parts department to be able to order amd said it was special order. A.C. supply store had it in stock and was open Saturday. Well never use this company again and strongly reccomend anyone considering using them to do diligent research.
The company installed our AC unit incorrectly when the house was being built. Weve called and requested service multiple times because our line keeps freezing. One repairman came out and told my wife that the heat and cold are on the same system, so it shouldnt freeze up. We called multiple times, for the SAME problem, waited 8 months for a back-orderedrelay and have now been told that because our warranty has expires, it will cost US $482 to replace something THEIR workers incorrectly installed. The BBB will be notified of Houks business practices. I even think all the positive reviews are written by their own employees. Also, get your Customer Service on par or get out of the business.

Do not use this company for anything AC/HVAC related. They were our builders (Westin Homes) subcontractor and they installed our HVAC system so poorly that we ended up with mold growth so bad that our entire downstairs HVAC ducting had to be removed. I have documentation from a mechanical engineer that states Houk AC did such a poor job that they are solely responsible for the mold growth. Their own employee said it was their fault. The damage cost us $50,000 since we had to rip out all the HVAC ducting, cleaned the system, needed mold restoration, new carpet and paint. Of course since the laws in this state are written to protect the builder and their subcontracts there isnt anything we can do but hopefully we can warn others of how poor this company truly is. Dont take my word for it. Check out the pictures which shows little to no sealant, return ducting laying in insulation, mold growth on the return vents, etc.
