Ive been in the NDE Business for 14 years, for me, finding quality learning material and instructors who know how to relate to field technicians is critical when trying to increase the skill set of my NDE team. Ive attended many courses and I always recommend Shane Walton at University of Ultrasonics. I can personally attest to the quality of the Phased Array and FMC/TFM courses. Both are awesome and give you the confidence to experiment with different techniques in the real world. Shane has a wealth of experience and is a great resource as a consultant and teacher.
I took the PAUT 101 and 102 class. Learned more in Shanes class than all other classes Ive taken combined. Hes very good at making analogies and visuals to help you understand concepts. If youre a visual learner this class will be especially good for you. Will definitely be attending more classes here to sharpen my skills and learn more.
I took a lvl2 UT course here. The instructor was fantastic. I was very pleased with experience. As a manager of our company, I would not hesitate to send a potential candidate down for classes. The instructor explained things very well and in good detail. I felt comfortable asking questions if I didnt understand something. He would always associate an explanation to an object or another scenario to help make sense of the theory involved in the class. I know there are other big dogs in town for these classes such as Hellier, and Lavander but if I had to do it all again I would still go with UU. I did a lot of internet research and talking with others in the industry and based on class schedule, price, and education, I went with UU. I was not disappointed!
