Ive had the pleasure of living at Halstead Apartments for a year and a half, and I couldnt be happier with my experience. The community is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers fantastic amenities. Perfect location, 15 to just about anywhere in town. 5 mins from the galleria! What truly sets Halstead apart, however, is its exceptional staff. Dion, the assistant manager, has been outstanding in addressing my needs and concerns. Hes always responsive, friendly, and goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel valued and supported. The entire team at Halstead has made me feel welcome and at home. If youre looking for a great place to live with a top-notch team, I highly recommend Halstead Apartments!
Deposit hasn’t been reimbursed. I moved out on November 9th. Broken promises, and horrible property management. Elevators keep breaking down. Imagine walking up and down 6-7 flights of stairs in the dark. Broken appliances, and damaged wood floors, trash everywhere. Not Luxury!!! Not a luxury experience. Best thing they have going for them is location… GET NEW MANAGEMENT
Idk what these one star reviews are about but I love it here. Concerns are addressed immediately and the office staff remembers you by name. Jayden and Deon are both amazing, if youre looking for a budget friendly luxury apartment then look no further.Cant wait to be neighbors!! 💕
This will be a mixed review. Hopefully this helps anyone who thinks about moving here. The only reason why my review is a 2, yet not lower, is because we were able to live here comfortably, but not in luxury, as the apartment complex portrays itself to be. They are simply nice apartments with suburb materials. There’s functional appliances, working bathrooms, but again, not luxury. We rarely needed maintenance work. The employees are really nice. Kudos to Jayden, and the guy (I don’t know his name, as he is new). Hands down to the maintenance guys as well. Those are my nice notes, the pros. Here’s where it gets juicy. The cons. The management team has GOT TO HAVE BETTER COMMUNICATION WITH HER TEAM! IT SUCKS! The employees would communicate one thing, but the manager would add other things, whether it’s paperwork, procedures, or even more money. Of course, no one likes to pay more money unexpectedly, so this definitely needs work. Moving here wasn’t easy, and leaving here was no better, especially because I ended my lease early. Take note that I gave kudos to the employees, but not management. Her attitude makes me believe that’s she’s only had bad experiences with customer service, and she talks to everyone like they’re kids, or they’re dumb. Every time my wife or I have had to talk to her, she always seemed very defensive. As I read some of the reviews on here in regards to her, she replies in a very defensive mode, which proves my point. She does not take responsibility for it. My case was that they gave us an incomplete apartment. It seemed like they rushed the job just to get us our apartment. When we brought this up to management, and all the details that were lacking, she thought we were just being too picky, and even told us, and I quote “if you guys are gonna be picky, and you won’t be happy here, I’d really just rather cancel your application.” And all we were asking for was, to simply make our apartment as they said they would. They kept blaming the incomplete work on the freeze we had back in January. However, the maintenance work that was lacking had nothing to do with the freeze. It was all detail work. As a former supervisor for a department I will not mention, if I were in charger, this would not be the person I would have chosen for this position. But that’s just me.This next comment is more like an opinion, yet a con. If you are someone who’s very chill, and only works, comes home, eats, and gets ready for the next day, I would say that this is not the place for you, which is our case. There were many times where it was very noisy dead in the middle of the night, and I believe it has to do with whoever crashes here at an AirBnb. Yes. There are AirBnb’s here. You can tell that the people who come spend a few nights here are people who love the party life. There’s music and loud people at like, 3am, and on very random days. My wife and I found ourselves waking up a lot because our next door apartment had a balcony right next to our bedroom, and the tenants could be very loud, which I had to yell over there and ask them to lower their voices. The AirBnb’s are everywhere here! And yes. I also sent out emails to the employees at least twice regarding this topic.Hopefully this helps anyone.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!! At the text request of Halstead, I am posting this review. Notice; most good reviews are from years ago. Please read below.🚫 This apartment complex is NOT a luxury property... disgusting amounts of trash overflow the trash bins and grounds. Pools are constantly green, even one day after cleaning! (There is NO HEATED POOL since at least 10/2023, yet they still advertise it). 🤔 Elevators have not worked correctly for over 3 months. Hallways are filthy and look horrible. Leaks, lack of maintenance and management, that does nothing but provide excuses if they respond at all. Apartments are being leased as Air BnBs, and those renters dont care about noise or stomping on floors (see pic). Parking is atrocious! (I was told if I paid an additional $100 per month, I could get reserved parking). Pool-table has balls that are chipped and scratched with torn felt on table. (Bring your own sticks! 🎱). General use area has old pizza boxes and roaches in cabinets (you pay $85 a month for that luxury! ) Grills by pool are disgusting. Non-smoking community where hallways, staircases, elevators, and garages constantly reek of weed (marijuana). Dont be fooled by the luxury appearance of the office - the rest of the complex does not meet those standards. I highly recommend you reconsider renting here. Management is super nice when they want you to sign a lease and horrible and disrespectful after you move in. I had a window fall out of my bedroom in July 🥵 and it took a week for maintenance to respond! So many of the residents I have spoken to have the same complaints and have already moved or are moving out. You do not want to rent here! You will be 🤬aggravated and upset with the property and the service. Gate on 610 broke several times; Managements answer??? Close it permanently!🛑 Im telling you, you will 😣regret it if you sign a lease at Halstead. This is a Slumlord property! From what I have heard from other residents, they do not refund deposits either. 🤷🏻♂️ Do you really need to know more??? (More pics will be added)P.S. Apartments response to this post was a boiler plate fake response. If they really cared, they would have contacted me
I would HIGHLY recommend choosing another complex to live in. I have been here for a year, and while I loved my apartment, I did not love this complex. Firstly, there are many, MANY airbnbs in this complex. I’m not sure why they are commenting on reviews stating they don’t allow airbnbs, they 1000% do. You can go on airbnb and look at this area and see just how many are listed (at least 30). With that being said, there are constantly random people in and out. I see people with suitcases weekly which just causes safety concerns. Also, the unit above me is an Airbnb. I only found out after the person staying there flooded my front entryway and laundry room. The amount of noise and banging coming from the random people staying in the Airbnb above me was insane. To make matters worse they wanted to raise my rent almost $300 (I did not lease on any special pricing). That is actually insane and absurd that they would raise my rent that much. You can find a better apartment in a much nicer/walkable area for what they were trying to charge me.They also do not remove wasp nests and this was told to me by the leasing office. They stated pest control does not cover a wasp nest that was on my porch, and I would have to pay $50. They specifically told me they do NOT remove wasps nest from around the building either (as you can see from the previous review).Elevators are never working. There are also three gates, one on each side of the property, and only ONE gate works, they locked the other two gates purposely which is inconvenient to the tenants on either side. I have spoken to a few long term tenants that have stated this is the last year living here. I loved my apartment and wish things were different at this complex. There are many other better options that are better priced. I would have loved to have stayed, as I stated really did love my apartment and it was nicely updated. But raising my rent almost $300 just showed me they don’t value their tenants whatsoever. That combined with the Airbnb’s is just not worth it.
Had a great time during my lease with Halstead! The front office is full of helpful & kind people, including Jayden! I moved to be closer to work but the great hospitality means a lot & is remembered!
We stayed here for a few days. First of all, they allow the residents to host as an Air BnB. If I was planning to move, I wouldn’t choose a building that has randoms from around the country accessing the parking lot, the gym, the pool, elevators, etc. he provided us a key fob and we were able to access everything. No background checks, just full access to everything on the property. Beware. This is what the inside of the unit looks like, and I can only imagine the other units aren’t very luxury either! We stayed in unit 29 which is an Air BnB rental. It was disgusting. The door was raggedy on the outside as if someone had tried to break in before. The balcony was old and faces the dumpsters (so if you’re moving here just know an entire wall of units faces the dumpsters on their balcony, not luxurious at all). There was a huge wasps nest. There were roaches. Anyone who has property experience knows that’s a recipe for disaster for surrounding units. Good luck if you want to stay here.
I was looking at renting a unit… I had even started the process… unfortunately due to issues regarding work, I decided to not relocate to apartments. The Halstead told me, that they were not going to issue me a refund, despite my move in date was over month a head and they had not heard from me. I emailed them well before the move in date. If they are going to do that to future tenants, I can only imagine how they treat their residents
This place is run by thieves! Honestly there are so many apartments in the galleria area do not bother with this place you will be disappointed. I GUARANTEE THAT. They will say whatever to get your money but will not honor the promises they make. Will be taking this company to court. DO NOT MOVE HERE
Ms. Juanita!!!!! Her motherly love, patience, and guidance really made this place feel like home!! I wasn’t all the way sold for my own personal reasons, but she solidified it. The entire front office is just full of life and love. I’m so excited to call this place my home!! Also, the property is literally stunning in every aspect! Beautiful floor plans!Update!!! 3/9/24 Juanita is a scammer!!! They allow people to rent out their apartments on Airbnb which brings out a lot of different people if you know what I mean! They have FLYING ROACHES! Which is why I decided to not reside there. Also, Jaunita refuses to give me a copy of my lease which by law is MANDATORY!! And she can’t because she forged my signature because I never signed one!!!
I wasnt impressed with the female agent Jayden at the leasing office. She was very off-putting and didnt seem like she wanted to be there or to show us around. She did, but I did not feel welcomed.
My truck got broken into in this apartment complex. There is suppose to be security at night time and cameras. It is the weekend, so I cannot ask questions to management until Monday. Apparently, cars have been broken into here before, (see past reviews) also at night time, which makes me wonder what the night time security is doing. My truck has an alarm and was parked on the first floor. My truck looked like it was going to be completely stolen, which could of happened because all you need to get out is move close to the exit gate. I have heard car alarms go off during the night multiple times and now I know why.
There is nothing Luxury about this place. The management and corporate office are all rude and crooks. There is nothing legit about this place at all. It is dirty and you pay 100 a month for the grounds maintenance which are covered in pet feces. I lived her for a year and the worst living experience I have ever had. I am still waiting for deposit back from them. It has been 65 plus days with no communication as to where my deposit is or when I might receive it. QUITE DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS PLACE!!!!!! IT IS A TOTAL SCAM
I wanted to add my voice to the postive reviews The halted has recived over the years. My initial reserech for an aparment turned up their name and my experience so far is amazingly flawless,From the intial commuciation regarding reservation, the oranization of their website with accurate information & pictures to the depoite all went as smootly as any luxary Apartments. The apartment exceeds our expectations in quiality of appliance like a beautiful view of the balconying. The staff is tremendously amazing and as professional as it gets. The staff and associates keep the reservation on point, and make sure your stay is amazingly well. The manger (Juanita) is such a sweet person and keeps the residence up-to-date on any event or occasion that is happening.once you send them your first email you be guided through the process in a professional and friendly manner. Thanks for the Halstead for such an amazing home.
There are issues with:1. Trash everywhere.2. Pools not kept clean.3. Gym kept locked at night until the office staff comes in at 9am because of theft. You have to work out on their schedule because they are incapable of monitoring the common areas.4. All repairs take multiple days to complete and the tenant has to buy their own parts like light-bulbs since the new company took over.
I wanted to take the time out to leave a review for Jayden and her excellent customer service. She is very welcoming, honest, & personable. She has made my experience at Halstead easy & amazing. Thank you so much for everything you do Jayden.
Staff is extremely rude and racist. we stayed here for a week for a family wedding. and there were roaches crawling all around the complex, wasps nest all over the garage. the front office staff was racist snd refused to let my family use the bathroom in the amenities area. definitely do not recommend to anyone who is trying to live here permanently or just looking for a vacation airbnb.
Excellent location. You can get into the 610 in no time. The staff is the best. Covered parking included and great amenities: media room, gym, and 2 pools.
I lived at the halstead for one year, it is a good place to live by sure, the leasing management is pretty good. My 4 stars is because they have issues with the cars window brake 15 in one week, i hope they work out on that and the other think Ive been living in United States in 4 luxury condos but this is the first time ever that a condo doesnt give my deposit back and for real i dont think Id deserved that.
HORRIBLE customer service!!! I don’t understand when people get in a role that requires customer service. And don’t like the job or the people that are being serviced. I walked in today to see a unit both my friend and I. We were not greeted and jayiden had a very unwelcoming spirit. Very negative and dark. Like she doesn’t want to be at work. I had to say something about her attitude for her to fix it a little and do her JOB. She was very rude. I seen other reviews online and the front office seems to be an issue. Ladies or whomever this may concern if you’re not going to do your job you should probably find another one. Especially one that doesn’t allow you to interact with people; since y’all seem to not enjoy customer service. There are brand new apartments; in better areas all around Houston. Go where you are appreciated and welcome. Or maybe they just don’t like people of color (blacks).
My sister lives here and I was looking to move into the same complex as her. When I called for information a lady in the front office answered the phone in the absolute rudest way possible. Im pretty sure Ive encountered her before when I was there. I watched her before as she berated another tenant about living on the property. are you SuREEEEE youre not one of the airbnb people. is something she repeated multiple times. Shes a latinx lady and has dark hair. Quite nasty personality.
The Halstead apartments are nice apartments. The pool is amazing and my favorite part of the property, never really crowded. The same goes for the gym and the yoga room.I am one that doesnt want to deal with the office, just let me pay my rent and live in peace. The few times I had to go into the office, Juanita has been helpful and assist me with what I needed. When we have run into each other on the property she has called me by name. The first time she did it I was like you remember my name. That had a big impression on me.I have been here for about 2 yrs. I highly recommend - the apartment is very spacious, its quite, theres an Amazon hub, and the best pools in Houston.
I’ve been living at the Halstead for 2 years, although it is in a good location, the cost of living at this complex IS NOT WORTH IT. I received a 60 day notice to vacate ON THE LAST DAY of the notice with all kinds of typos and the renewal rate is MORE THAN THE LEASING RATES FOR NEW RESIDENTS. The quality is NOT WORTH THE MONTHLY RATES. I currently live in a ONE BEDROOM, ONE BATH and my rent increased about $400 more than what I signed for and $200 more than WHAT THE WEBSITE SHOWS. On top of that the management here IS TERRIBLE. Juanita Regalado - the manager is only nice when it comes to visitors that are interested in becoming a resident but as soon as you sign she could careless about the maintenance of your home (most times has to be reminded to put in maintenance orders) or the condition of your living situation. Since I’ve been living here from 2021 to current (2023) there has NOT BEEN ANY remodeling or reconstruction on the outside units! Although pest control comes every Friday, the apartment is still infested with roaches!!, the paint is peeling off the walls, things are constantly falling apart (the A/C is constantly leaking and breaking, the dish washer, refrigerator, and microwave have all been replaced within the year). There’s no way a one bedroom apartment with no scenery, little space, poor quality, and bad management is going for $1482+! Every time I’ve asked for a corporate number the manager claims the corporate office doesn’t have a contact?! 😂The staff has truly made this a terrible experience and place to live. They don’t care about the occupants, the conditions people are living in or your health! I stress about my apartment at least once a month because it’s always something, hidden fees that they can’t even breakdown for you! PLEASE RECONSIDER BEFORE STAYING HERE because it is definitely not worth losing your peace of mind! My advice to anyone seeking is make sure the management team cares about your living situations.
I dont know where to begin with this complex. I lived there all of 2023 and this was by far the worst experience Ive had in an apartment. Move in was a nightmare and we werent allowed to sign the lease and get our keys until 5pm on the day of move in listed on all our paperwork.Newly renovated units include drawers that arent measured properly so you cant use them, outdoor light fixtures in the showers, Upstairs neighbors threw parties until 3-4am, landscaping in the complex is horrendous, packages are just left in piles in the lobby, trash service doesnt check every hallway on designated nights, and then trash chutes are constantly full. Maintenance marking work orders as complete when they never even walked in the unit, the pool was constantly dirty...we had to threaten legal action to get our deposit back. Overpriced for the quality of the unit and customer service. The sad thing is, open and honest communication on any of these issues would have lessened the sting of any of the above instances.
Stay away from this building . Horrible . Full of roaches & bugs. Garbage always piled up. People having loud parties till late hours. Front desk very rude & hardly EVER available on the hours that they claim to be open. If you call the main office they never pick up the phone. If you are coming from the projects in the hood then this is the place for you .
NEW, UPDATED REVIEW:Before you decide to move here, check everywhere else first. Even hell itself is probably better.Management claims to care about the tenant, but dont be fooled. They work on commission so they will happily lie to your face about something if it means someone will sign a lease. There have been multiple thefts, vehicular and property, but they refuse to do anything. They want you to pay thousands of dollars to live in these *luxury* apartments, but they dont want to spend the money to maintain them and ensure the safety of those who live here. The idea that these apartments are *luxury* is even a lie itself.Theyre turning everything into a pay-to-use convenience despite the fact that they dont care enough to make sure the conveniences are taken care of.They have cameras on the property, but not where it counts such as the parking garages so kiss your valuables and vehicles goodbye.I recently got my renewal notice and I couldnt help but laugh when I read that they will give me ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS to refer someone to live here. I wish that was a joke, but its not. Even apartment complexes in the run down parts of Houston will pay you more for a referral. With the way things are constantly going downhill at these apartments, I wouldnt be surprised if they tried to fight you tooth and nail to keep the $100 that they owe for referrals. This place runs on greed. Management is greedy. The company that oversees management is greedy. The company itself used to be called JRK, but they renamed to Two Coast Living. This is probably their way of trying to run away from the hundreds of negative reviews and complaints that were filed against them on the BBB.All in all, they want you to pay for their negligent mistakes. Whether thats a lack of cameras on property, not enough security officers, or their bad habit of sending out the wrong amounts owed for rent, utilities, or any other additional fees or community add-ons they decide to tack onto the leases. So just remember:If youre thinking about moving here, slap yourself as many times as it takes to make yourself reconsider.Dont let The Halsteads mistakes become your biggest mistake.
Had the worst experience possible trying to move into this apartment. First started by meeting with one of their office employees at the time name Sonya, came off as super nice super helpful we toured the apartment complex and we saw the available unit that we would move into everything was great... until we paid our deposit fees. After we paid our deposit fees we asked if she could send the lease for us to sign for our apartment, days went by still no lease. Finally we get the lease after a week of waiting (to a completely different unit) this unit was not the one that was on our deposit that we PAID FOR. So we went to the Halstead to see this new unit that we were going to have to live at since apparently some rented our original unit solely because they were able to move in before us (a whole 3 days earlier) without telling us they just handed it to the first available person. The new unit that we looked at was smaller and on the opposite side of the entire complex, we ultimately told her that we would be looking elsewhere because we did not like the way our situation was handled. From there she said I completely understand, Im so sorry I will get you a refund for your deposit) which was around $350 she said it should take around 30-45 days for the check to come in through the mail. Here we go again... 30 days pass, then 45 days pass so we call the Halstead to see whats the issue they tell us theyll look into the issue. Another 30 days passed at this point my girlfriend and I are furious we call to see where our money is... One of their office workers tells us that Sonya hasnt worked there for over 2 months and they have no idea what we are talking about and that we broke our lease so we wont be getting the money back. This was the most unprofessional apartment complex I had to deal with while looking for apartments, if you can look at other apartments DO IT. This places prices for what they offer is terrible youll have better luck going anywhere else.
The application process was very quick and easy. They follow up quite often. Dion was great in service.
I just want to say that Jayden is a blessing at this complex. If I had the power to appoint her to oversee the property, it would have been done last year. Despite facing challenges with management, she has gone above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for me. Jayden has truly done everything in her power to make this a good experience.
Living here as been phenomenal! Maintenance staff are really helpful and supportive of anything you need. Juanita, Jaden, Naomi, and Yolanda (managerial staff) are incredible at what they do and accommodate to your needs! They get things done!! If youre looking for awesome amenities, great community, and a close location to the city this is a great place to live!!
I’ve been living at the Halstead for almost 1 year now. I recently just renewed my lease with Ms. Jaunita.I absolutely adore Ms. Juanita. She’s very professional, assertive and yet personable and genuine. She’s been nothing but amazing since my initial experience with my tour. She stops at nothing to resile matters a efficiently and expeditiously as possible.Furthermore, I love the Halstead community, the maintenance team are quick, efficient and very knowledgeable. Not to mention- more importantly my apartment is gorgeously designed. I couldn’t ask for a better space to be my most vulnerable yet secure self.Thank you Halstead Team of Experts !
This review is specifically regarding my experience with the Halstead staff, Jay-den and the manager, Yolanda.I scheduled a tour for 9:15 am, and arrived on time. I even took tolls to ensure I wouldn’t be late. When I walked into the leasing office, I’m greeted by Jay-den, who asks how she can help me. I stated I was there for a tour, and her response was “Well you’re gonna have to take a seat over there and wait because we’re all just getting here.” That immediately rubbed me the wrong way because she seemed agitated that I was there, as if I wasn’t scheduled to be. It’s not my problem that you’re late and unprepared.Ten minutes later, she comes out, no apology for the delay, speed walks and fast talks through the entire tour, not once asking if I had any questions nor made any attempt to create any form of a welcoming environment or comfortable experience.Once we arrived back to the leasing office, I asked to speak with the manager (Yolanda), who stated she could not talk to me at that time but that she had my information and would call me back later that day. I never heard from her, nor anyone else. While I understand that this will not be everyone’s experience, and I honestly hope it isn’t, I’m writing this review because I believe there needs to be a level of accountability held for one’s actions. People shouldn’t be treated that way and their time should not only be valued, but respected.
The staff here are very inviting and welcoming when I came to tour. Jayden, in particular l, was very helpful in getting me the information that I needed. Halstead is top of my list and I would highly recommend living here!!!!!
I am a current resident at the Halstead apartments. I moved in March 2021. The initial staff that were operating the facility were great! very clear, communication and effective when dealing with issues. However, once new management took over the building, things started to decline. The current leasing agents come off as very sweet, but it is a con to get new tenants. They added several miscellaneous amenity fees to your rent and failed to mention it once you sign your lease(heard this from a new tenant). Also, the building is constructed poorly and you can hear neighbors all around you at all hours of the night. Ive made several noise complaints, not only to management, but Ive made several attempts to contact the courtesy officer to which there is no response. Literally, the purpose of the courtesy officer is to resolve noise complaints, or domestic issues /disturbances. However, once you call the number, it goes straight to voicemail and the voicemail box is full. I made several attempts to inform management about this issue, and was told that they would contact the courtesy officer and resolve it, and yet three months later, its still an issue. I can hear consistent, banging from my neighbors above me and literally can hear my neighbors talking through their walls. There are plenty of other apartments, charging about the same amount. Dont waste your time or energy
I enjoyed my stay at Halstead and it has been a pleasure working with the ladies in the office, especially Jayden with her GREAT customer service. I usually do not write reviews, but I feel it is necessary due to my positive experiences here. If you are thinking about moving here, just do it!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! They make people sign NDAs when their security fails and they are forced to release people from their leases!Luckily I wasn’t on the lease so I’m able to let people know the truth about this terrible complex and subpar office staff. My partner moved here for 6 months and in that time her car was stolen the first month from the garage. 2 months after getting a new one, her tires were stolen back to back. It felt like a personal attack until 2 other cars ended up on bricks that same month. They have zero cameras in that garage and the back gate remains open most of the time. The security guard sleeps at the front office instead of patrolling the grounds.Months of asking to be released and it wasn’t until threatening legal action that they finally did. But they made her sign an NDA that she won’t leave any reviews anywhere. Suspicious much???It’s wrong and people need to know that the reviews on here are inaccurate because the true reviews are all in signed NDAs.Trash apartments and staff.Save your money and look elsewhere.Talk to current residents whenever you’re touring apartments. And DONT move here unless you want to spend thousands getting your life back together after the management fails you.
I’ve been looking for an apartment when I found about The Halstead and I’m glad I did. I had the pleasure of talking to Jayden and she has been so helpful. She is very professional, caring and patient, something I don’t see often when dealing with leasing agents. I also loved the apartment we’re getting and can’t wait to move in.Thank you so much for everything you did the accommodate us Jayden!
First of all the reviews dont give this apartments any justice . I came here this Saturday with my roommate and I can not stop talking about this place. It is so pretty and clean. And the lady who tour us was very nice . She look busy with the phone ringing but she helped us very well. She showed us the property and I cant say anything I didnt like. I love this place . Im glad we came in.i hope they have something for June because I cant wait to move here. And for the lady that helped us . Thank you I thought you were very professional and very kind and very bubbly.
Great apartments for a great price in a great location. The staff is the best Ive ever experienced. Ive worked directly with Melanie, Mitcy, and Tiffany and they are absolutely awesome! Theyre consistent, very friendly and always willing to stop what theyre doing to help out. They go above and beyond to make you feel like part of the community and always have a friendly smile on their faces. The grounds are always kept up and the landscaping is absolutely beautiful. Theyre always on top of any issues that arise, such as elevators going down, water issues, etc. They text and email updates and keep you informed as to exactly what is going on.I have nothing bad to say about The Halstead. Ive lived in quite a few apartment communities and this is hands down the best.Highly recommended.
This so called “luxurious” apartment complex is HORRIBLE! I stayed here for 3 weeks through Airbnb and I feel bad for all the residents that signed a lease! First of all, my car GOT BROKEN INTO one of the first nights of me staying here and after reading the previous reviews I see that’s something that happens often (mind you this is a gated community and they have security). I hear the cars’ alarms going off at night and now I see why! No wonder so much crime happens if they don’t even have security cameras in the parking lots! One of the things they stole is the key fob to open the gate, now the Airbnb host Alex wants to charge me $149 to replace it even though it got stolen on this property and I have a police report! Unbelievable! The ladies at the leasing office are so rude and it’s a headache dealing with them, I got a package delivered and they are refusing to open the locker and give it to me and dealing with Alex the Airbnb host is another headache. They charge an arm and a leg for these apartments and everything in the unit is so outdated, it doesn’t match the price you are paying for! My list of bad experiences at these apartments could go on and on!
The staff was very inviting on my visit to inquire about renting an apartment, in particular Jayden was very helpful in getting me the information I needed. They are at the top of my list and would highly recommend.
These apartments are so nice and beautiful. The pool is crystal clear all of the time. They do an excellent job keeping the apartment complex kept up, and Mitcy is super friendly and kind. Ive been to other apartment complexes in the area and they just arent up to par. I love is how friendly the staff is. Mitcy is always smiling no matter the day, and she is a hard worker and did a really great job in assisting me. These apartments are the bomb. Thanks!
I have been a resident at the Halstead for 18 months and I have enjoyed my stay here, the staff is helpful and try to do their best to send maintenance people to resolve issues in my apartment but I think that they need more people to help the ones already there.I also wish it could be more of a community feeling, could you organize a book club, bingo or some other get together like a pot luck where we could meet the other residents. In 18 months I barely know my neighbors. Only two or three nice people carry on a conversation with me.
Ive only been a residence at The Halstead for a short period of time but my experience thus far has been very positive. Some of the leasing staff has changed since I came onboard and they were very helpful. Tiffany who is currently there, is awesome and has been very accommodating. The maintenance staff is the best, very timely to respond to requests and repairs. Ample parking. Gated and secured. In a city where we have many options for apartment living, this property does a great job in every aspect. I would definitely recommend it.
Very lovely and nice apartment complex. I love how local and convenient all of the stores are, and how beautiful these apartments are. Ive been looking for apartments and I can honestly say Ive had the best experience here thus far. I was working with Mitcy, and she showed and toured me around the apartments and did an excellent job to go above and beyond. She made apartment hunting for me so much easier, and I cant thank her enough. These apartments are hands down the best in the area, you cant go wrong. Thanks to all the staff especially Mitcy for all your hard work!!!
DONT LIVE HERE. Ever since the management has changed, we have not able to enjoy any of the amenities because of the constant constructions going on in the apartment. And just this week, they had the fire alarms going off for three days in a row and today, they did it without sending out an email that there will be one and i have a baby in the house. I had two breaks in to the car, including one of my catalytic converter stolen. They DO have securities going around at night but i dont know maybe its the area thats not safe. Not only that when I contact or talk to the management to get something fixed, theyre not nice and this one lady in the office is very rude and condescending (theyll be nice to you before you move in). If you ask to get something fixed things take forever to get done and you might have to call multiple times. It may look like a nice apartment outside to live but living quality is not as it advertise to be.oh and i agree with all the negative reviews left for this apartment. Elevators constantly broken, hidden fees that adds up to your rent to be more than what it actually is etc. Dont waste your money and time here.
After living at The Halstead for 3 years, I know this is my home. From the moment I stepped foot on the property, I felt welcomed. The apartments have a great, modern look and the community is filled with awesome amenities like free coffee, a heated lap pool, gym, and media room. The staff is friendly, professional, and invested in continuing to improve the complex.Recently, I transferred apartments and Tiffany, the Resident Relations Coordinator, was pivotal in making the transition easy. She is always smiling and accommodating. I cant possibly say enough good things about The Halstead.
Superb apartment. Incredible staff, particularly Ronnie who showed excellent customer service and wasn’t hesitant to help. There’s a great pool, with a barbecue place and much more. The gym is great, and any problems I had were fixed asap. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay, it’s located near a shopping complex and public transit, very easy to get around. One of the best apartments I’ve been in so far.
The Cortland Halstead is a solid apartment complex managed by a good team of people that care about the residents. The apartments are in the upper echelon of rental units, the complex itself is well maintained, and the amenities are awesome (especially the dedicated lap pool). The few issues that arise are the results of the residents not taking pride in their surroundings, which is more of a function of poor upbringing that anything to do with the complex. I would recommend CH to a friend looking for a nice place to live.
Very friendly staff and maintenance team is always on time to fix any issues that occur. Very clean property and is truly a resort feeling when living here. Modern gym and clubhouse with 2 big sparkling pools with grill area. It really gives you that luxury style living! Also Ronnie the maintenance manager is awesome when it comes to any maintenance issues that occurs , him and his team fixes anything at any time! He is 24/7 and is always there when needed for emergencies
There’s not enough space on here for me to write how much I love this property and the staff. Each person that works here is kind, tentative and they work quickly to solve whatever it is you need. I’m a single mother and they’ve always done their best to accommodate our needs and help living at the property as stress free as possible. I’ve also never had a safety issues with my vehicles or walking around at night. The property is always clean, my neighbors are quiet and if I have ever needed something fixed or adjusted in my apartment they do it in a timely manner. I’ve lived here for 3 years and I’ll live here for three more!
Very nice and well kept up apartments. I love living here. The staff is always helpful, and the maintenance works fast and effective. All of the staff is super nice. Mitcy always smile and greets me when I come in to get coffee and to pick up my packages. Very nice apartment complex. I love it!
Pro:The property and apartment does seem very nice and well kept. Very large windows, counter, and closet space.Con: The balconies were small and connected to all of your neighbors on your floorDeal Breaker: The earliest appt to tour the property was at 3:15pm. I started the tour about 3:30pm and by the time I finished the tour the rate went up on the layout I came to view by almost $100 at 3:40pm. The leasing office made no effort to honor the price that was there when I came. A leasing office that cant make things right is a huge red flag for me.
I LOVE THESE APARTMENTS SO MUCH!!! Everything is nearby and convenient. The pool always sparkles, and they have a gym that is open 24/7. The have such a lovely staff, especially Mitcy Yarbrough . She is always smiling and has this bubbly and welcoming attitude every time I walk through the door, SHE IS PHENOMENAL! I have been living here for the last 2 years, and I have no complaints. Thanks Cortland on Halstead!!!
Genuinely speaking, it is a nice place by itself.First, the Staff. The staff are friendly and nice, and they are willing to solve problems for us. There was some issues when we first moved in and they helped us solved it in a timely manner and I do appreciate that.Second, the amenities. I like the gym and movie room! They also have food and drinks available almost every week which is very sweet. I also like they send text messages to remand us about paying rent and towing cars. I love the coffee machine in the lobby. It is so convenient to use and makes very good coffee.Third, the location. To be honest, the location itself is not desirable for us. It is too close to 610 so we hear highway noise constantly, which I guess is not something can be avoid. I have never lived in a place so close to highway so I am not used to the noise and not prepared for that. Also it is locate in the flood zone, but we havent experience any flood yet consider we only lived here for one month.Fourth, the building. The building has some history so there are floor noise. Be prepared for that if you never experience any similar situations before. I would recommend earplugs ready when you moved in. For apartment hunting, all I wanted in the past are lots of natural sunlight and open view, but now I might need to add no highway noise and no floor noise. Well, you never know what might affect you until you really experience that.Overall, it is a lovely place to live. If you dont care about highway noise and floor noise, it might be the perfect place to live with very friendly staff and great amenities, also free food and drinks.
For all those negative reviews being left, they clearly can’t wait to get to heaven if they want everything to be perfect!!! Geez people, things happen. Water main breaks, so what! It’s a pain but things happen at other complexes as well. Management communicates in a timely manner. Tiffany is by far the easiest person to communicate with about resident issues. She actually cares about the residents here and not just working for a paycheck. I feel safe here, this is my home! Could there be some improvements with the pool issues, for sure. But I’ve been here for over 3 years and won’t be leaving anytime soon. Also, they have food trucks here every Wednesday! Yay for not having to cook! The new smokeless community is exciting. I didn’t like walking out my apartment into a face full of smoke because someone was on the stairs smoking! Just another reason to stay!If you want to live in a quite, peaceful community, in a perfect location, and can deal with an occasional (not as dramatic as others have said) issue, then head over to the Halstead.
The Halstead is a place where I have lived for over 3 years and i have truly enjoyed it. The staff is very meticulous and responds to your needs in a timely manner. For a long time, Kim was the person I would go to as she would make sure things were done. Now, Tiffany and Lindsey will do the same. I am blessed to be able to live here and call the Halstead my home.As I have stated before this place is extremely peaceful and safe. The location is convenient for commute to downtown, weekend visits to the museum, night dinners in upper Kirby, and great shopping in the Houston-Galleria or Meyerland Plaza. Great schools are in the area and The Halstead has the amenities after school for families. The last few days of beautiful weather I have enjoyed the pool, worked out and thought about watching a movie in the movie theater on property. It definitely feels like a Resort, but a resort that I consider my home.
I have lived at Halstead for over four years and the office staff is great. Tiffany treats everyone like they are family; and Roman who never lets a morning go by without a “hello and have a safe day” as he is making sure our property is clean and looking beautiful. I always feel safe coming home here. Thank you Halstead for doing a good job!!
Over all bad apartments. Every apartment has its faults for sure but these aren’t worth the headache. Clearly under staffed on its maintenance end this apartment has no real structure to it. The 9 floor high rise elevators are broken at least twice a month which never fails leaving me and the entire building to have to walk up six flights of stairs on a moments notice for an entire day sometimes longer. There always just the worst communication amongst the leasing office and it’s residents. The building always stinks from trash building up in the compactors. And to top it all off the front gate which has been broken and open for the past week or two allowed someone to come inside the parking garage and cut my catalytic converter off my car and steal it and of course the apartment holds no responsibility. Save your time and money.5 months later Im here for another Halstead review. Last night my vehicle was parked in the FIRST Spot on the FIRST floor of the parking garage at the Cortland Halstead. I woke up this morning to find my vehicle had been broken into and my trunk also. Brand new 2022 vehicle. The apartments security is usually sleep inside of the study room by the coffee bar or asleep in their vehicle EVERY morning when I leave for work Monday through Friday. Security company is called Blackstorm by the way. New management in the office new leasing agents that really dont give a dam. Elevator was broken the entire month of May. There excuse is because people hold the elevator when moving out.... Well what the hell else are they supposed to do .... How about you limit access to the person moving to elevate the issue.Package was stolen from Amazon on Friday... covered by Amazon. Package are left all over the first floor mail area for some reason, but idc to ask why.Maintenance staff is a lot better as of late. But I said it once Ill say it twice AVOID THIS PLACE!
Too loud!! Quiet times not enforced even after reaching out to management to try and help enforce. The right to quiet, peaceable enjoyment of a rental property is an implied “covenant,” or promise, under the law. Many written leases also contain a clause guaranteeing a tenants ability to live peacefully in their rental. -- legal may be all they respond to i guess
My wife and I have lived at the Halstead for three years and while the location, price, and apartment layout are what initially convinced us to sign a lease, the dedication and enthusiasm of the management team and maintenance staff are what have kept us here throughout the years. The crew works tirelessly to maintain and improve the property as well as to make the Halstead the most enjoyable place it can possibly be. Texts and emails are regularly sent to residents to keep us updated on ongoing projects or just to let as know that pizza or mimosas are being served in the office. Im especially grateful to be a resident here in the summer since the beautiful pool is a perfect way to beat the heat and the shady garden paths make walking the dog a breeze!
Living at the Halstead has been a great experience. The office staff are pleasant, the maintenance guys are fast and effective, and the overall atmosphere of the complex is clean and well-maintained. The location is ideal for me and seems to be surrounded by everything I could possibly need without having to drive more than 15 minutes. Rent is reasonable which is great for a recent college grad. I highly recommend the Halstead to individuals who are looking for either an economical apartment (mid-rise portion of the complex) or luxury apartment (high-rise portion of the complex).
I enjoy living here. I love the parking that is so close to my apt. Maintenance staff has been great. Office staff is very nice and helpful. They are very pet friendly. Great location to everything which is a plus. Ive lived here for several years and will be here for at least a few more years.
Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with this complex/management staffing. I toured the facility on May 13th and submitted my rental application May 14th. I was originally working with the leasing agent Tania; she was very kind and answered all questions that I had in a timely manner. I was given a specific quote for the unit that we toured; it was written on the apartment layout sheet that we discussed during our initial tour. I signed my application with the specific rates that I was given by Tania, she provided me with my welcome letter that confirmed all the rates that we had discussed (Rent, Admin, Deposit) initially. I received a confirmation call and email from Tania, informing me that I had been approved and was all set (move in date, set for July 18th). I was informed that I would receive a lease agreement that would need to be signed, I received the lease agreement on June 6th, after reviewing the lease, I noticed the Rent and CAM fee rate had increase after I already signed my initial Welcome Letter with the rates that I originally discussed and was confused as to what changed.I contacted the front office and did not hear back until 7/11, when a new leasing agent named Sonja mentioned that there is some confusion on the rate. We are getting this cleared up and your new lease and Welcome Home letter will be sent to you shortly. She then proceeded to explain that the rate I was quoted for initially, was for a smaller unit which was false. I sent over the apartment layout sheet with the original writing provided to me by Tania. (Apparently Tania resigned, and the new leasing agent was unaware)I called and attempted to speak to the actual manager because the new leasing agent also attempted to charge a full months rent for my deposit, after I was already quoted a specific rate. Later to find out that was a mistake on her end because she didn’t notice the paperwork for my previous rental history was already complete and on file. (I continued to get quoted with random rates added to my initial offer.)Finally, I spoke with Yolanda (the property manager) on 7/13, we discussed my concerns and she mentioned she would look further into it and contact me the following day after reaching out to her reginal. (Considering I was scheduled to move in on the 18th and at this point I already had all my personal items packed, hired movers, moving truck, notice placed in for my current home, I was rushing to get answers) Yolanda did not follow up the next day so I called back the day after she said she would contact me, but didnt. Yolanda continued to dodge my calls. I spoke with Sonja, asked to speak with Yolanda, she informed me that she would go ahead and transfer the call, asked who was calling then proceeded to inform me that well, actually...she is busy, and she will be for the entire day. I sent multiple emails to get the issue resolved.Have yet to hear from Yolanda. The fact that the property waited to adjust my rental rates to less than a week before my move in date was extremely unprofessional. To purposefully not attempt to resolve and issue and then proceed to mention we hope you understand due to a mess up on their end, is unexpectable. This was a property issue and they proceeded to make it sound like there was nothing they could do. Due to the fact that I signed the welcome letter and paid a good portion of my move in fees under false pretenses, I chose to withdraw my application and request a refund. Sent in multiple emails, attempted to call in regarding a refund and still, the run around. Such an unpleasant experience, waisted so much time, money, and effort. The professionalism of Sonja and Yolanda is subpar.
I have lived at the Halstead going on my 5th year now and I absolutely love this place! The staff is AMAZING here - every single one of them, which is hard to find. They are always very attentive to the needs of the residents, very polite and are very quick to respond to inquiries. I really cant say enough about this place and how wonderful living here has been. An excellent apartment!
“Cortland Halstead, what a wonderful place to call home!” This has got to be the most pleasing and charming place to live in Houston. Just to start, and the number one reason I have lived here for 11 years, is the staff! Lindsey, Tiffany, Jessica, Mitsy, Ronnie and the entire maintainence crew are spectacular! If you dont have a stellar management team, for me, that would be a deal breaker. You can have all the Luxury in the world, but if the leasing office staff isn’t top of the list, then I’m not happy. But, if you do want an exceptional management team in your leasing office then Cortland Halstead is your home. I’ve lived in Houston for 40 years. I have rented many apartments in those 40 years. The staff here is TEN STARS!! They jump through hoops and nothing less. Next up is the property, the grounds are gorgeous and manicured. A friendly team keeping this place beautiful. The amenities are terrific. We have a choice of high-rise living and mid-rise. Exercise room, theater room, club house, all are so modern and pleasing. The apartments inside are lovely. Beautiful marble top bathrooms and marble top kitchen. I really like my appliances. The rooms are healthy sized and closets. We have 3 pools. Even a lap pool for exercise and fun. I really enjoy the convenience of the Galleria location with an easy drive of 10 minutes. We are also about 10 to 15 minutes drive to Houston’s famous Downtown. If you are looking for culture, dining, arts, events, plays, musicals and fun experiences, youll find no shortage of things to do in Houston. Our medical center has the best of the best doctors and hospital’s. This is the fourth largest city in the United States and home to the famous Space Center Houston, museums, restaurants, Live events and so much more. The Houston Live stock rodeo is so fun. I have lived here at Cortland Halstead for 11 years and I still have never heard a peep out of the neighbors voices through the walls. Thick walls here. We have all the goodies. Social gatherings, yoga classes in-house, you name it. My neighbor’s are so nice. I love living here at Cortland Halstead! Come join the family!!
Love calling this home. I was nervous renting sight unseen since I was moving from TN but I’m so glad I did. What makes this place special in my opinion * Tiffany is amazing - the whole team knows you by name * they do what they can to make sure you are satisfied * provide security after hours and security is kind and respectful. I know it’s not a guarantee because things happen you can’t control but it’s nice knowing when I walk my pet the guard is near * they care...I truly believe the team cares and it’s not just their job. You can’t fake kindness when they know something is going on and truly reach out with kindness. Though I say 5 stars I am a realistic. There will be days I’m not in super star mode but that’s life. Nothing is perfect but I do believe this place deserves all 5.
Ive lived here for 12 years. New management company allows Airbnb now. Crime is uncontrolled. Property is in poor condition with understaffed maintenance. Significantly overpriced for the value of living here. I would not recommend anyone moving here as they would soon regret it.
The Halstead is a wonderful community to live in! Very peaceful and any questions, maintenance requests, etc get handled in a timely manner. Their package delivery/pick-up procedure is awesome and efficient. Tiffany, in the office, is THE BEST! After living here for 3 1/2 years, it is evident that she truly cares about the residents and our needs.1.29.2020- UpdateHalstead by Cortland is still rockin it! Tiffany is still the greatest employee of all time and keeps us up to date on all the current Halstead goings-on! Cant wait until it warms up so that beautiful pool and bbq area can be put to some good use!
Great location, and wonderful office and maintenance staff with great customer service. I have always dealt with Jessica in the office & she is super sweet, and always in a positive mood. Community is kept clean, and everyone is very respectful. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking in the area!
They give out gift cards for writing good reviews, don’t believe the 5 starts. There are better apartments all in the area that are much better than the Halstead. 1 star is one star too many. I’ve lived here 3 years and kept renewing due to convieniants, what a mistake-over 50 maintenance request over 3 years, from no air conditioning our first several nights, 5 requests to fix a leaking molding window, no hot water twice, etc etc-animal waste always on property, it will sit there for days-our bikes stolen WITH a chain and no apologies from staff-staff always smoking outside-trash not left in trash bags, left in the hallway all day- loosing water for the whole complex at least 5 times, we keep a bucket of water in the bathroom for the toilet- fire alarm going off for whole complex SEVERAL times, many times in middle of the night- elevators have broken at least a dozen times, including a time when we got trapped inside it.- floods every single time there is flooding in Houston, other apartments in the area do NOT flood this is a bad location- the manager told me that their paychecks do not come from our rent. Which is moronic, how do they think the apartment business works?- ‘heated pool’ has probably worked 3 days in 3 years- construction both directions on the trail so you can’t use it to run or bike- they offer work out classes but don’t notify you of the times?- no disinfecting wipes in gym, eww- office staff will sit there ignoring a line of residents while working with a perspective renter, this has happened to me multiple times- the printer in the office center streaks really badly despite multiple complaints. There might as well not be a printer- clicker broke and we were told they can’t replace it bc they don’t have enough- the move screen room doesn’t work and the seats are very uncomfortable. Don’t be fooled by the tour.- roaches- any problem with office staff, management will side with staff over renter. Doesn’t matter how rude or physically aggressive (yes PHYSICALLY AGGRESSIVE) they wereI could go on
I have been living here about six months now and my experience have been great. The staff have excellent customer service and the amenities are awesome. If there is any maintenance issues the maintenance team is on it and they are very nice and accommodating. This place is worth my $$. Dont think twice or your spot will be taken. :)
Ive been living at the Halstead for almost 2 years. For the most part its been a pleasant place to live. The staff are friendly and willing to help. If you are into staying fit, they have a nice outdoor lap pool and a great gym and the location of the Halstead is good as it is close to the Bayou where you can hop on your bike and go for a ride or go for a good run. The Halstead is easy access to get in and out of and convenient to many stores. There have been issues here and there with up keep of some areas of the premises but I believe you would have that in most places. All and all the Halstead has been a nice place to live!
If I could I would have give a zero start to this property. The building has structural issues which the management is not willing to fix and the leasing office staff are so rude and impolite and RACIST!! they dont even care about your problem or listen or look at you while you are talking to them.My upstairs neighbor is running and making noise and walks heavy literally 24/7 and I tried 100000 times to tell to the leasing office that they are making noises do something but they said it is what it is!!! I even told them to change my apartment even though they had one similar plan available they didnt !!! they said that we cannot do that !!!!
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT UNLESS YOU LIKE THE SMELL OF MARIJUANA AND DOG URINE, OVERCROWDED LOUD POOL PARTIES EVERY WEEKEND, NO SECURITY, CABINETRY FALLING APART. COCKROACHES, AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND STAFF WHO DGAF.
Jayden is very professional eager to help and a great multitasker. I love her personality. She was very helpful helping me with my mothers move in process. Two Coast Living has gem in her.
This is the best apartment company Ive ever dealt with. From the great amenities, to the amazing staff, and great location moving in here has made my life less stressful and more happier. Mrs. Mitcy Yarbrough is amazing at her job, shes soooo sweet and I can tell she loves what she does. She put in the time and the effort to make my moving in process go as smooth and welcoming as possible. Also thanks for the amazing help Mrs. Tiffany. Those two ladies together represent the Cortland brand. This is definitely the place you would want to call home.
Tiffany worked really hard to ensure my leasing experience went smoothly during the initial Covid-19 quarantine period. She always put forth her best effort to be courteous, communicative, transparent & kind. While I experienced a few challenges, overall the team worked hard to resolve them. ** units are larger than most in the area as well.
There is a saying home is where the heart is and that what’s truly makes The Halstead community different from all this rest. I could go on about the breathtaking views of the city to its convenient location inside the 610 loop, but what truly makes the community stand above the rest is the amazing staff. They truly make you feel a part of the family. The Halstead is truly one of Houston’s best kept secrets in apartment living.
I have been living at The Halstead for over a year. The move in process was a hassle... my file was lost. I just happened to stop by the office a week before move in and nobody knew anything about my move in although I paid the deposit and submitted all my paperwork. The apartment was dirty and I had to call corporate to get it cleaned. I have had a request to have my patio cleaned since June 8th... it is now July 9th. The patio has yet to be cleaned and maintenance lied and said that this was done. Also the residents do not clean up after their pets. I live in the mid rise and the hallways and elevators reak of dog urine. The breezeway rarely get cleaned. Also Ms Lindsey, it wasnt the fact that you took over a month to clean my patio. I feel disrespected that your staff lied and said it was done after I put over 3 additional requests.i feel like you all were calling me a liar. If it could not be completeled in a timely fashion then you all should have reached out to me. Nothing was done until I had to go to corporate. It should be like this. That is unacceptable. You all care nothing about taking care of your residents. This issue cant be swept under the rug. I have receipts that I can and will post
I enjoy living at the Halstead. It is an older remodeled property with some minor challenges, like everywhere else, but there is a real sense of community and neighborly charm that far outweigh those.Additionally, the staff (Kimberly and Tiffany) are extremely attentive and pleasant to work with. Theyve made all of the difference in my few years of living here!!
Everyone who works at this property is very friendly and helpful. The public areas are well kept, and maintenance issues in my apartment are solved promptly and correctly. Overall, I’ve had a very good experience living here.
This building is trash. Management and leasing office, its half and half. Tiffany is kind and relatable. Jessica is nice and professional. Mitsey (forgive the misspelling), shes not overly nice nor rude, shes a handler, shes get the job done and i appreciate her work ethic. And of course the maintenance men are sweet and helpful. But Phillippe, I can not stand, he is rude, entitled, pushy, unprofessional and obnoxious. Quite honestly he’s been working in the building for about a year and he’s awful. I don’t know how he still works there. He’s not a good fit. Property manager, always sounds aggressively friendly, where its off putting, but she is a handler as well, truly cant complain about her. BUT. . .this building is either without water, without electricity, without working fob’s (site keys/gate keys), broken elevators, dirty pool (not all the time but frequent enough), its a headache! I wake up to take a shower and have to be at work for 8 and guess what no water AGAIN!!! They offer us to take a public shower in the tower, I am pregnant and don’t want to be around strangers and germs!! i pay $1500 to take a public shower. Disgusting. . . Cant wait until my lease is up. . .
I moved away from Houston, but lived at the Halstead for a few years, and really enjoyed my experience.I lived in the tower part of the complex, and I would highly recommend to anyone, that you should definitely choose the tower over the mid-rise if available. There are pluses and minuses to all apartment complexes, but with every minus that did come up, the staff always did their best to correct any issues. If I do move back to Houston and need to live in an apartment, I wouldnt hesitate to move back into this property.
My wife and I have lived here for three years and dont have any complaints. No matter where you live there will be issues, thats a given in any situation.I think some that write reviews have unrealistic expectations or are/where part of the problem. What might be a deal breaker for you may not be a db for me.Guess it boils down to glass half full or empty. The only reason that we are planning to leave is because our jobs are now on the other side of town. It has been hard to find any other apartment complex that comes close to Halstead. We live in the mid-rise and love the trees and manicured look. Its nature in a city setting. Maintenance is top notch and we only had one issue in three years and thats not a bad average.
This place is horrible , do not recommend, the most unprofessional, disrespectful, un knowledgeable managing staff I’ve ever dealt with. The place is never cleaned the theft here is ridiculous because the cameras don’t work . The office staff is never on time , never resolve any issues in a mannerly time, they don’t answer the phone , they lie about the things they say they are going to take care of , the maintenance staff is horrible they don’t even speak English to understand the maintenance problem that are addressed to them. There constant trash in the hallways there’s trash that’s been piling up in the staircase for weeks. The noise in this community is horrible it’s loud all throughout the night. Tenants are not safe here neither are their belongings it’s been several thefts and break in and we aren’t even 10 days into the new year.
This is one of the best apartment homes we have stayed in Houston so far. The personnel is very friendly and positive. The maintenance team is very responsive and fast. Definitely recommend!
One of THE best properties that I lived. Staffing is very attentive, helpful, and nice!!! Community is very nice and quiet, maintenance is very prompt, and housekeeping is kept up and VERY CLEAN!!! You get your moneys worth
I lived at The Halstead for all of 2014. I lived in the mid rise looking towards nrg stadium (4th floor).Pros:- The location is one of my favorites in Houston, close to everything. (Lived in a few spots in the city; top 2)- Brays Bayou is right off the property. If you like to run or ride bikes, awesome city trail.- The Halsteads gym is awesome for an apartment.- Maintenance is prime. I put in a request, it was done within hours (Even Weekends).- Parking is great. The garage is awesome.- Never had a problem with staff.- Pool is awesome (when it was open)Cons:- Place was constantly under construction. Pool closed, etc... (Maybe my bad luck?)- Units are small.- Units layout are illogical. Closets are small. No extra storage.- I dont mind it, but If you dont like road noise, maybe live of the 1st for. (610 is ear level)- Major TAX on the trash valet, should be $10 per month tops, I think it was in the $20s.There was reports of all types of break ins. My theory is, people who would invite sketchy people in, sketchy people shop, they break in (You are the company you keep). You are in the middle of the 4th largest city in the United States. Lock your car and place. I did not have a door mat, made my place look like no one lived there. In conclusion, I liked living at The Halstead. Just too small of a place for me; in conjunction with the price. If you are a young professional willing to jump around or just looking for a decent place temporarily, by the time you get tired of it, you will be packing to move out. I liked it.
This is not a place you want to live if your quality of life matters to you. The management does nothing about noisy neighbors, people do not picking up after their dogs and cars taking two parking spots. This is just to name a few things that are wrong. But if you like getting woke up at all hours of the night then this is the place for you. The fire alarm goes off all the times for hours. They had to lower the rent to get new people to move in because everyone is moving out.My best advice is keep looking.
I came in the other Day had a AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! This place is the bomb 💣If you are looking For apartment Living this is the place Look no further. They have a wonderful staff Led By Mitcy Yarbrough!!!! Wow 🤩 she is wonderful let me tell u she assisted on ALLLLL my needs and wants. I can’t wait 😊 to move in THANK U CORTLAND HALSTEAD!!!!
Ive had to retract a formerly positive review after one act of the managements refusal to protect my private property. After suddenly being towed for the heinous crime of being 10 over the line in a parking spot, the management company allowed a third party tow company to remove my vehicle. There was no warning. There was no note of my resident sticker, my 18 months of paying my rent on time, or the fact that I had parked in the exact same manner for months without anyone saying anything. All I was told by the office staff was that the management company allows a third party company to come in, tow cars parked improperly, and it was a $231 lesson for next time. For me, it was a $231 lesson to rent elsewhere.
I particularly like the timely response to maintenance requests and the manner in which they are handled. The complex is also thorough in its effort to keep its residents updated on maintenance and alerts, such as elevator and water leaks. The efforts put forth to assist with preventing flood damage were much appreciated.
Very positive experience, the staff Lindsey, Jessica, Mitcy and Tiffany were super friendly willing to help right away. They were very knowledgeable about the property. I would definitely refer friends and family to this community.
My husband and I came to the office to get information about leasing an apartment, we were told to step out the office and make an appointment. We left and toured an apartment in the surrounding area. We scheduled a tour for 4pm, came back and a note on the door read “we are on lunch, will be back at 4:30”. My only question is who goes to lunch at 4:30pm and who run these apartments?
Living at the Halstead was one of the absolute worst (& honestly terrifying) experiences I have ever experience in a living situation. The crime is rising outside the community and within the community (which is shocking because they pride themselves on being a safe gated community). A couple of weeks ago, 12 cars got their windows smashed out in the parking garage. The pipes keep bursting which keeps flooding apartments. In the very few months Ive lived there (about 6 months) it happened twice. Ive had to call the police on several occasions because for things like domestic violence & drug usage (just to name s few) among neighbors. The office managers are VERY rude. Maintenance problems take forever to fix. I had a leaky refrigerator the whole time I lived there and it went unfixed (even though their policy is that if repairs arent fixed within 48 hrs, you live rent free - that was not the case). The only positive things I can say about this place is that it looks okay & its an okay place to live if you dont like socializing with neighbors or talking to anyone really.
The Halstead is great. We have lived here for almost two years...the staff is outstanding. All issues (i.e. A/C, dishwasher, etc.) have been addressed/resolved within hours. Very pleased.
Been living here for 5 years and still love it!!!
We have lived here for a few years and it has been great living here. The staff is amazing especially Tiffany!! There is always events for the tenants and the amenities are great.
It was an OK property. I found brand new, nicer and closer to work in med center for 50$ more. When leaving a woman asked politely if I was think of moving there. She told me dont. It awful. I like to take peoples opinions with a grain of salt and wanted to check out revies. The reviews on the property swayed me to pay more at another complex.
Love The Halstead it’s an amazing complex with great staff. Felipe and Mitcy are so nice and always attentive. The location is awesome near all the great food and shopping Houston has to offer. I definitely recommend anyone looking to make th right move and come home to The Halstead!
I enjoyed my stay here for a long time and was able to raise my son in a environment that really enhanced his mindset!! I can now say May 6th he will be a graduate of University of Texas Austin.
We are very happy at the Halstead all is fine. Our apr is a little dark better lighting in the kitchen would be great. The staff is very nice and pleasant . The maintenance is good too.ThanksBarbara Gelman

We love the property and staff at Halstead! Even when things go wrong, they brighten the situation. All of the community activities are so much fun and the attention to the renters is unparalleled.
Note this if u dont like this place.your mislead. Also almost all these pictures are old ,they renovated the alot esp The community centers game and fitness and theater. Very beautiful place and staff. (Break in responses)>For break ins.you cant control everything. Thieves are somewhat smart when it comes to taking from others
Management and Maintenance staff are top notch if there is a problem with my unit its usually fixed within the same day if not immediately... If there is an issue with the complex like a gate being down ect.. They will notify you asap and let you know when its fixed so it affects as least as possible.. Great location have enjoyed the couple years living here..
There are alot of improvements going on at the moment. The staff is always helpful and I like living here. I hope security was a litttle better and the residents didt leave trash around all the time.
The online maintenance request form was easy to use, the work was done before I contacted the front office to check on it, and communication about its completion was quick and concise. Thank you.
I enjoy the the Cortland Halstead Staff because of their courteous culture with residents and their willingness to go above and beyond to make sure residents are happy and satisfied! Thank you team Halstead for excellence!

This napkin and roach have been in the hallway for 3 weeks. I walk passed it every morning when I head to the garage. This is ridiculous.
Absolutely Love living here! Beautiful community! The Staff in friendly and hardworking.
Too pricey for 9 cars to be broken in & vandalize! Worst place to stay if you looking a SAFE environment!
Jerry-Terrible customer Service over the phone. He would not let me get one question in and just wet on a rant about the apartments.
Juanita went above and beyond to make sure my move in day went as smoothly as possible.
Constantly provided conflicting information between email correspondence and face-to-face interaction with staff.
Great place to live. Dedicated staff. Love the community!!
Very professional and accommodating. Neomi is the best!!
Horrible place to live for the price they want, when it rains the lights go off for hours & sometimes the water shuts off!!

Great place to stay

Very friendly staff!
😍😍
Great place and staff
Very nice please
Beautiful community.
Terrible apartment complex!!! Over promise to prospecting residents in order to get money for deposits and will lie, deceit and even ghost ppl after they’ve spent their hard earned money. I’m still waiting on a reimbursement from October. I have told everyone I know about how unprofessional this business is. You’d do better shredding your money then investing in Halstead.
Beautiful Community!
Omg I was thinking of renting here in the near future but with the bad references of the tenants I have been disappointed 😞 the poor management and neglect of the building is unfortunate 👎
Rent an apartment here! Very happy!!
