One star is a stretch!I am extremely disappointed with my HOAs handling of a serious issue. The exterior framing of my garage, which is part of the common structure, has been damaged and has trapped me inside. Despite our bylaws clearly stating that the foundation and framework are HOA responsibilities, my claim was denied. But I am continuing to fight as this is wrong and very unsafe.Last year, contractors sent by the HOA warned that this would become a major problem, but the board ignored their advice and denied my request for repairs. I have asked for a hearing and have received no response. we are now going over a year and a half when this request was made. This has now come down to a safety concern. My investment here has gone to waste As they are not attending to the quality of our time here with ownership as well as the structure of the building. The paint job alone will let you know how the job is never completedThere was exterior siding work done, which is a general common area and someone’s limited common space because it was the area of their patio and that project got approved. However, my general common area with my framing of my structure that is connected to three different people is being denied because they are stating that it is a limited space because it’s my carport. it is obvious here that they are trying to ignore the serious issue that is happening in our community is deteriorating because of the lack of maintenance. we have an inspector that comes monthly and there is multiple concerns that never get addressThe lack of action and communication is unacceptable. I urge anyone considering this community to be aware of these issues.

I have a vacant payment on time and I always paid over the amount by $100 to $200 since 2021 and I made my last six payments early and hand delivered the money orders they sent my account to a law firm clearly theyve never received the money orders and I had to pay the attorneys $2188.00 have I had no choice but to pay it because I had to get the title transfer back to my van couldnt do it they had to leave on my property and then were ready to take my property away Ive been requested to be up with them in person so we can go over all of the copies of the money orders I have never missed a payment for the last 4 months I cant get them to make a appointment Im going to have to go to the go to BBB

It’s very unfortunate that this said HOA , Tara and management is a ONE way Highway. You as a homeowner need to listen. It’s true they muted much members in a meeting, no need for them to hear your concerns and issues, you just need to listen. This HOA will send out violations even it’s not true and you are stuck there, no amount of legal evidence that you could present, as long they are holding your neck. You would not understand what I’m saying until you are in the situation.There is no reasonable explanation that they accept except, you just need to file a case in court against this HOA or get out and lost money by selling your propertyIf ever you answer this, which I think you will:Please answer this :Why do you mute members on the meeting?You said they lack understanding,but understand this; your company is paid by this members from their hard earned money, same way you earn your salary, which is paid by this members of the community.

This HOA placed an illegal hold on my and multiple other residents mail with no notification or permission. They lied to the post office and told them all residents were informed and had authorized the hold. It has happened 2 separate time and has been nearly a month. I have called multiple times and asked for the hold to be removed but I either get a secretary or a voicemail and no one returns the call. I believe may be forced to take legal action against them just to receive my mail.

Houston HOA has been very attentive and responsive. The attention to detail has been quite impressive! So glad our association found them! ❤️In reading some of these BAD reviews, it’s obvious that these residents are completely uneducated on the duties and limitations of a management company and that they work for your board of directors. Learning is fundamental people, especially that Norka & other woman who can’t pay dues & lack responsibility. Some people love to pay the victim. 🙄The outstanding number of good reviews speaks for itself when one of the top duties of a business is to enforce restrictions and collect money! I am very pleased with the response from Ms. Lee of our HOA in regards to sheet rock that was damaged due to roof leak which was due to the horrific storms that we recently experienced here in Houston . Within a day Lee had contacted the necessary contractors to come out and check the damage of the roof and then also the contractors needed to repair the sheet rock. Lee was in constant contact with me throughout this ordeal, and I appreciate her concern and her taking care of this expeditiously.

I deal with Patricia Rana on pretty much a daily basis and she corresponds with me frequently to insure every job is done correctly and in a timely manner. While it saddens me that they wont communicate with me, via email or phone, it doesnt surprise me they responded to Google review.They never respond to your emails. The company doesnt care about HOA when they are making money in bigger law suit cases. They locked me out of portal. The just ignore any issue you have. Run 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ dont use them.They gave me a violation and wont respond to the violation. They give violations and give you 15 days to respond and then they will take your home away. Chapter 209. Over a registration sticker. Which is already insane. But I told them it was in the mail. I had proof it was up todate. They didnt care. They are ready to give fines and make money. When there are other violations, like the vice president makes by having a dog over 30lbs. And they dont question her. Bc they chose the HOA Management.You know what also is a privilege, choosing yall as a company. Who says the portal is a privilege?? I pay you. Is anyone else seeing this? This is how they treat you. And as you can see from other reviews. They make you do the work for them. And they lock you out of portal. Now, I have to mail my HOA check and they will say it got lost in the mail. And not their fault always.Meanwhile, they took my carport since November. And still dont have permits to give me my carport that I paid for.They are a lawfirm. If you look up the website. They are a legal team ready to take away homes. Not sure why the response is saying they dont? Another blatant lie.

This company is purposefully silencing owners within our community denying us voices within our community. Tara muted every owner in our last meeting, they are denying requests for discussion meetings, there is no transparency in spending, and they are actively making our community less safe and unappealing. Our HOA fees have doubled since they took over, they put in ugly and dangerous landscaping, they wont help with water issues our community has, and they tried to keep our gate open all day. Overall this company will not look our for the owners best interest.

Working with HoustonHOA has been the best experience!We came to them from a very troubled management company who had severely crippled our community financially due to bad practices coupled with poor communication with the board. HoustonHOA has helped us work towards getting back in functional order. Communication/response times are excellent. There is no over promising paired with under delivery. Tara and her team do what they say they will do. They listen well, they communicate well, they collaborate well. Overall, a breath of fresh air and I am so incredibly thankful we found this management company; they are truly an amazing and wonderful team and company to work with.

Our HOA board hired Tara and her company for our 20 house community. We took over after the builder gave up the HOA and hired Houston HOA Management to help make the transition. Tara has been very helpful and responsive in getting us started the right way. She has been available for the board consistently. Their online portal has a convenient feature for residents to submit issues as well. So far so good!

One of the worst companies to deal with to Pay the HOA. I have been trying to get the details to change the dues for every month they wont provide me with that information or access to my account. After letting them know multiple times that I have tried to get in touch with their legal team and nobody responds. I will be making sure that everyone hears loud and clear and will also be complaining with better business bureau.08/04: time 4:52 PM update: the legal team is hired by your company or the association. There are unnecessary charges/fees are on my account which needs to be removed. The legal company is not responding to my emails or messages which is not helping any cause. I have been one of the first owners to start living on that property and have no intention on not paying. If you or your legal team cant address or resolve the issues that a homeowner has then we need to resort to other sources to fix the problem and I am sure you wouldnt want to do that either.

I have had trouble logging into the portal. I can not seem to get answers about if they received my check. Maintenance is done without warning. I have been to the office and they just tell me to wait for a call back? They do not maintain property. Trash over flows from dumpster. Holes are in pavements which they said they would repair the parking in September. Laundry room does not having working units. I finally saw one person doing maintenance and they shut off the water! I have more photos and can show you my emails! I would not recommend this company for any HOA.

Incompetent, unreliable, and careless workers. Expect you to do their jobs for them and do not address issues accordingly. No updates or communication regarding repairs being done with in the community. Next house we buy will definitely not be in a HOA because they have been the biggest nightmare. I can 100% count on nothing being done by the HOA besides taking my monthly payment every month. What a joke.

We recently switched to HOUHOA in October and have been very pleased so far. The transition went smooth and in the short time weve worked with Tara & Zina both have been very responsive. That was one of the many things our board was looking for in a new management company, as our past experience with previous management companies has been the total opposite, and like pulling teeth to get anything done. Houston HOA management has been an outstanding management company for our community. We switched to this management company a little more than a year ago, and now, we’re doing so much better. Prior to the switch, we operated many years with no reserves, higher management expenses, lack of attention to delinquent accounts, and a lack of community correspondence. After the switch, we were able to slightly decrease our assessments. We now have a operating reserve. Delinquent account balances are decreasing. And, community correspondence is happening. Even though we are a small community, Houston HOA has taken time to be responsive to concerns of both our owners and board members. I’m grateful for the hard work Houston HOA Management’s owners and staff are doing for our community.

Houston HOA Management goes above and beyond to make sure my HOA is running smoothly. My community switched from a big box management company that was running the HOA into the ground with fees and subpar service. Once Houston HOA took over our community is now thriving. Bylaws are finally being enforced, dues are being collected in full and I can count on a timely response when questions/issues arise. I have had issues arise on weekend/Holidays and get a response the same day. I am so appreciative of Tara and Zina they are wonderful and easy to work with on all HOA matters. Every month I call because the online portal is malfunctioning and lacks ease of use. They tell me we will make a note of it and each month goes by and I am unable to log in. They have recently turned my account over to a legal representative and I am forced to deal with them over a simple payment I cant even make despite trying every single month. They Over billed me for my water for over a year And all they would tell me is the water meter is not our responsibility. come to find out the company that reads the meter is actually contracted with the HOA company and they will not deal with me the homeowner. After over a year the HOA company finally did the right thing and talked to the meter reading company and resolved the issue for the home owner. Nothing they do is on behalf of the homeowner and I am tired of dealing with this company and I have retained council and plan on seeking retribution for the lack of service and overcollection of funds.

Terrible service/ Management. I have called Houston HOA management office many times and left messages regarding my issue.I also left messages for the owner/ manager Ms. Zina.No one cares to return my phone calls.I personally went to Houston HOA office and told the receptionist that no one is getting back to me. She told me they are all in a meeting for the time being and not available to see me.She said its better if I called! Sure.I called again and left another message. Two more weeks passed and nothing.

They close requests when they have responded, whether or not theyve beeb resolved. For recordkeeping, Ive never been ab to figure out what they do. Theyre polite thgough: they always say thank you when you complain; they just dont do anything about it. They charge for assessment fees quickly: before theyre due. Hire them only if you have no clue of how an HOA should be run.In 40 years of professional experience, I have never seen an organization report two different numbers for income. They do it, and then proceed to ignore questions about it.

I am the current HOA President of our community. I also have 2 years experience managing 14 HOA communities in Austin prior to moving to Houston while I was between careers so I understand a lot about how a management company should & should not operate, & how hard & thankless their job can be. (this exerpt is copied from prior review from Kelly because I couldnt have said it better:) After two really frustrating runs with other local property management companies and countless hours spent doing the job we paid them to do, (and numerous angry compaints from owners trying to contact them for issues) our association was referred to Tara (co-founder) and we could not be happier.Thank you Universe! Tara and her team are AWESOME! They do amazing things like: have integrity; answer the phone when you call; respond within minutes if you happen to on a rare occasion get a voicemail; respond to owners immediately; obtain numerous bids from reliable, reasonable vendors who do not have to pay a fee to be a vendor (which saves us $$$); communicate professionally with owners who are delinquent to resolve unpaid assessments (saving us $$$); have a text message system for owners to quickly report issues within the community like broken irrigation, etc. They have more than doubled the amount of owner contact info obtained in less than 2 months the previous management company didnt even attempt to do this), enabling us to have better communication with our community. They fix minor issues for no charge - their fees are one charge all inclusive so no hidden fees under items like postage or administration.I saw the prior negative reviews before we signed on with Tara, but I could see these two individuals are blaming the management company for things that are out of their control. The management company, like it or not, works for the Board. The Board works for the community. Whether the community likes the decision of the Board or not, it IS the Boards job to make those decisions and not to put every decision out to community vote except when required by law. If this was the case, nothing would be accomplished. Its hard enough finding enough owners who want to participate on the Board. If the community doesnt like what is happening, they can to vote to change the Board, not the management company. I am astonished at how many people say I dont have time to be on the Board or go to a meeting what they should say is Its not a PRIORITY for me to be on the Board or go to a meeting. But as soon as that owner has an issue, they demand and immediate answer from the Board. SMH! Your HOA is an investment in YOUR community and should be treated as a priority - you ARE the HOA. More people should thank their Board members and appreciate their time and effort to create value in the community. We get more thank yous than not in our community so I take that as a win.If you dont go with Houston HOA Management Company now, you will come back to them eventually so save the time and money and do it now. You will not regret! I sleep better knowing our community is in good hands.

Its been very difficult working with HOA management. I have had big issues with incorrect water bills in excess of 10x greater than normal . After almost a dozen converataions with HOA management, they simply send me an email saying :Good morning, Salvatore,We understand your frustration with your high water bills and possible water meter issues. Unfortunately, the water meter that supplies 6113 Yale Street is the homeowners responsibility. If you feel there is an issue with your water meter, please contact a plumber who can investigate the issues further.Kindest regards,Houston HOA ManagementWhy after over a year do they send me this email despite my issues? Couldnt you have told me you wont help me a year ago? They are a property management company who collects a high fee and manages almost nothing. Our homeowners board chose Houston HOA after having four previous management companies in six years! This was the first company that made a plan with the budget to get our property in order - i.e. roofs, fences, pool passing inspection. THEY ARE VERY DETAILED! We were almost bankrupted and no credit! They got us credit & not only did we have new roofs on townhomes that had been previously neglected, our property got taken care of! We have very happy board members & residences, which is a great combination! In one year, we had $70,000 in the bank! When you hire this team, you will feel confident & everything will be taken care of with no worries!

Houston HOA is pretty helpful and quick with answering all questions. They also arent going to be unreasonable with their time limits about sending DRV letters and what not. I worked as a DRV paralegal and Houston HOA Management is doing everything they need to by Texas laws. Theyre actually a pretty nice company to work with.

When they first took over as the HOA of our community about 2 or 3years ago , we received flyers from them about either having a park built in the community or having block parties . And after that nothing. haven’t heard or seen anything done to improve our community. Only thing done was they raised our annual fee.

They managed our association, and we could not have been handled in a worse manner. They didnt follow association governing documents, a special assessment corpus disappeared, directors were allowed to double dip mileage and expenses for travel, the list goes on and on.If you want a management company who is going to let a board of directors run amok they are your company. If you want audits done in a timely manner, standard accounting principles used, and a management company who will refuse allow the board of directors to discriminate against members then look elsewhere.I will address your response in turn.1) You stopped providing management in December 2021 which is less thank six months ago. In regards to the nomination committee, the activities you allude to occurred before you were the management company, were litigated, and I received what I wanted in the mediated settlement.2) Not only did a special assessment encumber the association when you assumed management, but this is also established by the meeting minutes. No subsequent meeting minutes assess the corpus so it was simply inappropriately dissipated when our accounting method was switched to cash basis.3) Tara sent me a email with receipts for gas one of the directors travel to Austin to testify before the Public Utility Commission. That receipt is in addition to the mileage reimbursement the director received. Receiving reimbursement for gas and mileage is double dipping.4) The draft audit from Cannady and Cannady indicates standard accounting principles were not used. No final report to the contrary was ever produced changing this statement from. Cannady and Cannady. I have the draft audit report.5) I do indeed understand discrimination in the terms of Homeowners Association law. In fact, I know your response is defamation, and await your threatened suit. The suit is defamation in Texas. SLAAP provisions also apply which allow for the recovery of attorney fees.I also understand the difference between pro se and pro quod, and how that applies.I have saved documentation for all of my allegations. You have 48 hours to remedy your defamatory reply here or I will act appropriately.Response to your replies:Its irrelevant when the special assessment occurred. The corpus existed and its the corpus that was dissipated. You are sophisticated enough to know the difference.You are the ones who authorized the double dipping payment. We both know that paying for mileage a d has receipts is double dipping. Thats a payment you made.If Cannady and Cannady did make a final audit it 1) was never posted to our community documents and 2) was never tendered to owners who specifically asked for it in a document production request. I would love to have a copy of the final audit if one actually exists. You have my mailing address and email address.Again, you threatened litigation. I eagerly await your attempts to litigate. Remember, the mere threat of litigation gives standing to initiate litigation. You have everything you need to litigate if you think I have defamed you.You will not litigate because you know that my statements in the review are accurate and supported by documentary proof. Also, your answers suggest you have been withholding documents requested by owners in document production requests. That, too, can be explored.

Owners are rude and short with home owners. Only job they accomplish is to allow the HOA board to accomplish whatever they want with impunity and lack of input from the neighborhood as a whole. When confronted with blatant deed restriction violations via email the owner was rude and dismissive. Spoke down to me and insinuated that I was stupid and was unfamiliar with HOA bylaws and legislative procedures.And you can see by the rude and inappropriate comment below that speaks of peoples personal business and issues that do not pertain to their conduct with homeowners.Their constant abuse and inappropriate conduct should be a warning to any neighborhood that thinks about employing them.

After my husband rated them poorly for their unprofessional responses they proceeded to post my concerns with said neighbor publicly. I noticed that every time the company does not like their feedback they try to shut opinions up by threatening them with slander lawsuits. Slander has specific requirements that this comment, not does not meet. The first one being, it’s WRITTEN. The second being, it’s my personal opinion of a public company rooted in my personal experience, information and belief. It simply takes a quick search on google, in light of the clear lack of education, to figure that out. I am absolutely floored at the unprofessional behavior and the fact that this management company is confusing opinion with slander simply because the opinion was made public. It’s called free-speech and I would suggest someone in that office pick up a book and use their fifth grade reading skills to educate themselves. What a joke of a company. I don’t think they realize they’re trying to intimidate someone in order to reflect better reviews is a serious offense with the Better Business Bureau
