He was punctual to our scheduled time, walked me around the property to ensure I understood what was in the report, and showed me any trouble areas that were concerning. Mr. Joe helped us get an inspection back in October for a house we were looking to purchase as first time homebuyers. Made a clear list of everything in the house and gave us a very detailed report that we were able to understand of everything that was wrong or needed fixing and even physically walked us through everything so we could see for ourselves exactly what he was talking about. We faced some push backs from the seller on couple of his observations, and he didn’t rest until making sure all was done per standards. Very Dissatisfied - Poor Quality Work, Sexist, and ThreateningWe hired Joe to do both a regular and separate in depth sprinkler inspection on a property we were considering buying, and were extremely dissatisfied.We told Joe how I’ve been sick from mold toxicity in our current home, and how we really need this new home inspected as thoroughly as possible with an emphasis on moisture issue. He told us he was also a licensed mold inspector and would evaluate the house as if it were his own – this turned out not to be true in our opinion.Some of the things he did which were unacceptable were: telling us we could not be present and had to leave the property, spending only about an hour for the entire inspection instead of 2-4 which is standard. Misled us about the condition of the house being ‘great’ and missed some very obvious door frame damage (it was falling apart), told us the weepholes were fine (95% of them were blocked), missed obvious high indoor humidity and AC issues (indoor humidity was 69%), and his report was less than 15 pages of actual inspection items. To compare, most other inspections we’ve had on properties were 50-75+ pages. We would come to learn soon after when we hired another inspector to do a 2nd opinion that there were dozens of other obvious deficiencies Joe missed.To make matters worse, we had paid an additional $75 fee for a complete sprinkler inspection only to learn after he left that he did not perform one and said that he couldn’t get them to turn on, and yet he still charged us it. If a system is not operational at the time of inspection, it cannot be inspected. He then tried to argue with me that him saying “they would not turn on” qualified as the extra sprinkler inspection – in what world is that worth a $75 additional fee?His inspection was the most sub-par inspection I’ve ever seen. The 2nd inspection we had done was 63 pages and found over 50 items, compared to Joe’s 15 pages and 7 items. It’s my opinion that he just tells potential home buyers what they want to hear instead of actually looking for issues.I paused our payment to him as we’d yet to receive the $75 sprinkler inspection. Joe wrote me a nasty email that if I don’t pay $525 within 3 days that he will put a lien on the property. He said that he’s “done that many times and is always successful”, so I’m likely not the first person who was dissatisfied with his work and had a situation like this. I tried explaining to him that he has not delivered his end of the contract yet, and that we were very unsatisfied with his work.He then proceeded to harass me with threatening emails about how he’s going to ‘call the police’ on me, sue me, and even went so far as to say “who is the man in your house” because he didn’t want to continue talking to me but rather my husband, apparently.In our dozen or so emails about this, I was very calm, explained our issues and dissatisfaction at length, and pointed out that his own contract it says he will make every effort to resolve disputes and make things right – not true in our case. He did the exact opposite – lie, gaslight, blame, threaten, etc. He knows that I am suffering from extreme health issues related to mold and showed zero empathy or accountability whatsoever.It’s such a shame that people do business this way. If he had instead apologized for charging me for the sprinkler inspection and listened to my complaint/concern on the regular inspection, this could have gone very differently and I wouldn’t be here sharing my honest experience. But he showed up to the inspection in a fancy car wearing a fancy watch and fancy shoes, so it seems, IMO, he may value money above integrity or doing quality work. Even aside from his poor work – what kind of person says to a women to “who’s the man over there” – what does gender have to do with anything??Do not recommend.

My wife and I hired Joe to inspect a new build we were thinking of buying and were extremely dissatisfied with both his work and his handling of our later concerns and complaints about his work. He missed a ton of obvious stuff and hardly spent any time, then when my wife tried to voice her concerns, instead of listening to her he threatened her with crazy legal actions, that hed call the police, and then specifically asked via email whos the man around there, see screenshot below.Now he has the nerve to say hes never done an inspection for me? I have the receipts right here dude you know who I am, my name is on the contract along with my wifes. Its one thing to do low quality work, another to get hostile with clients when they tell you theyre unhappy, but then to come on here to my review and lie and say youve never done a job for me?Just FYI that the other inspector we hired later was so much more thorough and had all the nice tools like a thermal camera, moisture meter, boroscope camera to look in tight corners, etc and ultimately all the stuff that 2nd inspector found is what made us decide not to buy the house as it had so many problems we would have missed had we relied solely on Joe.Take accountability. If someone says youve not done a good job, listen, be open to learning, and most of all dont try to silence people whove had a bad experience by claiming you dont know who they are - you KNOW who I am - you say my very name in this email below where you insulted my wife.

I went with Joe just to try out a different inspector and he has been by far, the lowest in performance. I had to point out 4 major issues that were not functioning properly that he had not inspected within the home. Ladies, be warned. He is touchy-feely. He said it would take 3-4 hours for a hike my size but was done in less than an hour and a half. No thorough roof inspection and he doesn’t want (actually asked for me not to be) you home during the inspection. He bragged about knowing different trades but when I asked questions about issues within those trades, he’d say “you have to call an expert/“I don’t know”. Choose someone else and get quality over a low price.

I previously left a review about this company.. During this whole process my husband and I have spent a substantial amount of money. After paying for our service with JPs Estate Inspection I assume my financial responsibilities were over for the day only to receive a call from him letting me know that I had inadvertently sent an additional $660 he called me immediately once realizing this and return the money promptly this was definitely an honest move on his behalf he could have stated he didnt receive it or just not have said anything at all I truly appreciate the honesty because in this process you are dealing with so many different people on so many different levels and its just good to know that theyre still good people that exist.......

We contacted Mr. Poole to conduct an inspection of our new home and were able to schedule an appointment fairly quickly. He completed his report on site then went through each page with us once we arrived at the end of his inspection. Mr. Poole then immediately emailed the report to all required parties. Ok, So I am going to give this 4 stars soley based on the interaction that I had with him.1) I submitted an inquiry online and received a call and a text while he was out of the country on vacation but still chose to get back to me fairly quickly.2) I requested a 2-phase inspection for new construction because I need a reasonable level of assurance on how my home is being constructed. He told me you dont need to do all of that, most new builders know what they are doing. I am like, so how are you going to check the integrity of the framing, the electrical work, the roof and all that if it will all be covered up at the end? He said for the pre-sheetrock inspection he wouldnt give me a full report that it would just be notes since the house isnt finished yet.3) He also told me that he was just trying to save me some money. Sir, WHY would anyone build a very expensive large structure and not be willing to spend $800 for 2 inspections?I just thought this feedback may be useful to potential customers. if this is your style then go for it. But if you are meticulous, detailed oriented and expect a certain level of assurance I didnt get that from my initial interaction.
