I spoke with Michael Sheetz at Silberman yesterday about an issue were facing for a client who is about to lose her home. Some individuals knocked on her door, had her sign papers, then doctored those papers to tie up her home, preventing her from selling to anyone except them at a very low price. Michael invested a lot of time listening to the story and provided a list of options for her to pursue. He was very frank about the challenges and the likelihood of a good outcome in the short term.Michael was empathetic and genuinely disappointed that theres no easier fix for elderly people who are victimized in this way. He was honest about how resolving this legally takes a long time and a lot of money, which most people cant afford, allowing the bad actors to win by default. Despite the options not being as favorable as Id hoped, I appreciate that he called me back the same day, listened attentively, and gave us some possible solutions.In contrast, I also contacted GK Law, who refused to talk to me since I wasnt the client, insisting they speak directly to her, even though we are the real estate firm representing her. Holmes Law only communicated via email, asking for a $3,500 retainer just to review the title and give us options, without ever calling me back. Guerra Days Law required a $500 deposit just to hear the story and discuss potential actions.By far, Michael at Silberman Law was the most helpful and resourceful. He didnt prioritize money over assistance or make the process difficult, unlike the other firms. Im grateful to have found him and will definitely use Silberman Law for future real estate matters.

Garrett McMillan is an excellent attorney with teeth. He helped win my case, with excellent strategies and remained calm and drilled it home, of the terms at hand. He was very thorough, returned my calls and emails promptly, which calmed my anxiety. We won our case and I would definitely seek his services again when looking for a knowledgeable lawyer who definitely knows the law.

Sadly, this was the most disappointing lawyer/client experience Ive ever had. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of my familys trust, Ive had to consult with or hire various lawyers, and Silberman Law Firm was a major dissappointment. A key element to a successful attorney/client relationship is communication, and this element was truly lacking from this firm. I gave 2 stars for: 1. Their Admin. Asst. Ms. Gay communicated with me more than my attorney did. And 2. They were able to successfully resolve a portion of my case in the beginning, but totally fumbled the ball on the most important aspect of my case. And wouldnt return calls, or respond to numerous correspondences sent, some even titled URGENT, and I still wouldnt get a response. What professional does that?!...I had no other choice but to retain another firm to represent me.Its not how you start thats important, but how you finish!” - Jim George.

I had an awful and terribly expensive experience with this law firm. Sold on the firm by the owner, I was passed to underling after underling. A simple case with a $5000 retainer i was told was a “slam dunk” ended up costing $40,000. The person I was in conflict with was inflamed by this law firm. They filed suit on him without giving him a chance to rectify the situation. I emailed numerous times to the firm I felt I should get some kind of credit or refund especially for the work done by John Hill. John Hill failed to do easement due diligence. The firm ignored me. I absolutely would go elsewhere for representation.

Carin gets results. Period. If you are in the unfortunate situation of having to be in a courtroom, she’s the one you want on your side.

I had a very disappointing experience with this law firm. The first attorney working on our case quit; we then had to pay additional fees to bring the second attorney up-to-speed. After our case was closed, the attorney takes a call from an unrelated party who thought the work he did was subpar (a Title company) and then he bills us for it! Why do we have to pay for him to give an opinion to parties of a transaction that we have no interest in and did not authorize? Anyway, I called to discuss this with the attorney and he had quit as well. So the two attorneys working on our case have quit this firm - that is not a good sign. I then spoke with Chris Heald, who I guess is in their billing department, and he was defensive, condescending, and rude. My advice is to be careful with whom you spend your money and entrust your important affairs - this is not that firm.UPDATE: Comments on Silbermans Response: 1) Hey everyone, I love how he put all the details of our case out there (which were not necessary in order to respond) - remember that when considering this firm; maybe they will enjoy sharing all the personal details of your case too. 2) we paid them $300/hour for a total of almost $10,000 for this case - I requested a refund for $270 that was billed 7 months after our case was settled and closed. Again, this was work we did not request nor authorize. I dont know what their financial situation is but this small refund was a BIG DEAL to them and was denied. 3) He is right in that I will never understand how I was billed for an hour he spent with a title company helping a third party buy my neighbors property. I had no involvement in that. I wasnt the buyer nor the seller. So be advised, as Silberman acknowledges in their response, they will re-open your case and bill hours whenever any 3rd party calls with a question. Is that for eternity, I wonder? 4) there are many other attorneys in this city, take a chance with someone else.

If you do not see Ms. Austin’s review immediately below this one, sort by “newest”, you can see that review from today.In their reply to Ms. Austin’s review, Silberman’s first feeble attempt to deflect from Chris Heald’s unprofessional behavior is that since she was not the primary point of contact that she is incorrect in her statements. To set the record straight, Ms. Austin is an employee of mine who handled the initial case during 2021 to 2023 just as much as I did. I was the initial point of contact and I was involved in today’s call. She was not aggressive in any way. In fact, I was surprised how constrained she was able to be despite Mr. Heald’s condescending tone. Was Mr Heald frustrated with someone who was question his company’s billing? Or, is this how he speaks to women who question him personally?The fact is they billed us (Latitude 17) for time spent helping someone who was not a party involved in our case. Had Mr. Heald tempered his attitude for even a moment, perhaps he would have understood that the attorney working on our case billed us for the assistance he provided to a title company that had been hired by someone interested in purchasing our neighbors property. Meaning, we paid for work that was neither for our benefit nor even the benefit of the opposing party, but instead was for the benefit of a vendor/contractor of a person who was interested in purchasing the neighboring building. Having to explain to Mr. Heald and Silberman why this is not a party we ever had involvement with and why we should not have to pay for the work they performed is beyond ridiculous and should be a concern for anyone considering hiring this firm.Another point Mr. Heald attempts to make in their reply is that since they overcharged months ago, that we should just accept the overcharge. This is not behavior that is typical of an ethical firm and should be a red flag for any potential clients of this firm.Their reply also states that they are obligated to resolve disputes as amicably as they can. Here again it seems Mr. Heald does not understand the difference between representing my company’s best interest and assisting a title company that I had no knowledge of or any business dealings with. So, suggesting that the work they performed on my behalf benefited me is laughable.Furthermore, Mr. Heald states in his reply that “no time was charged” when the first attorney left and the second took over. This is grossly inaccurate and contradicts what we were billed for; it also contradicts what the second attorney stated when he told us that he had to spend some time getting caught up on the details of our case. After a long period of our first attorney, John Hill not replying to my calls and emails, we learned that he abruptly left the firm after we had already spent thousands working on our case. When the second, new attorney was assigned to our case, he spent a significant amount of time getting up to speed. How Silberman and Mr. Heald do not understand how there are additional costs and inefficiencies when reassigning an attorney to a case is very telling of the type firm this is. Or, does Silberman stand by this “no time was charged” statement and they owe me a refund for their billing mistake?Those reading these reviews would benefit from reading the reviews on Yelp. Google reviews are more easily manipulated compared to Yelp and it is very surprising that there are many good reviews here on Google while the majority on Yelp are 1 star (take a look for yourself – four of their last 6 reviews were all 1-star, in fact).The bottom line: despite Silberman Law Firm’s efforts to deflect blame, there is no excuse for the dismissiveness and condescending tone that Chris Heald exhibited on 5/3/2024 and anyone who is considering this firm should highly consider any one of the countless good firms out there.

I had a case that your law firm handled for me. We started in 2019 and everything was finalized in 2024. I had four lawyers from your firm that worked on this during this time. The last attorney was Drake Brown and in my opinon the best. He communicted with me frequently, asked for my input and suggested options. I felt comfortable that he was working in my best interest. I highly recommand him and would hire him again if I needed an attorney. He was successful in my lawsuit and collected all my expenses.

She’s the only one who called back further to sending emails to 12 law firms saying “I’m looking to talk with an attorney about a situation where I paid an electrician $2k in deposit on a $5k electrical panel replacement for a single family house in Round Rock Texas. The electrician canceled or broke the agreement after I asked for insurance information” Two other law firms responded by email. Lack of response may be due to the ice storm Central Texas had and also because my situation or case is better suited under small claims

This law firm is the best! I was searching for advice and representation on a case. I interviewed several firms and this firm was the most reasonably priced and professional. Chris Healds, attorney, advised me on my case. I could clearly see I was in good hands! They werent about the money but about good ethical service. In the end my case was dismissed as a nonsuit and I received most of my retainer back!! Other firms tried to scare me with horror stories and large fees. I would recommend this firm to any and all looking for great high quality ethical service that is all about the client!!

Phil Silberman sounded knowledgeable about eviction law when we talked to him. On that basis, we hired his firm and paid a $2,500 retainer as demanded by Mr. Silberman. A few days before the trial date, we were informed by Mr. Silberman that were being assigned another attorney, Chris Heald, who turned out much more junior and far less seasoned. It became apparent in the hearing that Mr. Heald was not well schooled in eviction nor real estate law. After the case was dismissed in the Defendants favor (Chris lost the case), he informed us that he had used up the entire retainer in preparing for the case and reading up on eviction law. We were dissatisfied with our experience with this law firm because of the attorneys inexperience and complete disregard for our costs. If you value your money, dont invest with this firm. Heres an email from the firm. The attorney wrote a lengthy response to this review below, probably spending 2 possibly even 3 hours writing and editing it. Im not saying it wasnt a difficult case, Im saying I was overbilled.

I called for the free consultation. I have never spoken to a nicer and more patient attorney. He answered all my questions and explained the best course of action for my situation then described what their fees would be if I needed assistance. He didnt try to pressure me into hiring him or make my situation sound too complicated to handle myself.

I would highly recommend not using this lawfirm. My attorney wouldn’t return phone calls or respond to emails. When I attempted multiple times to contact Mr. Silberman he told me that he does consults all day and didn’t have time to take my phone call. I wish I could give them a -5 stars.

Firm is a total joke. They dont respond to emails or voicemails in a timely manner. Numerous messages were left, but no response was provided by the firm. Ive washed my hands of them and advise anyone looking for a good lawyers firm to do the same.
