I ran into a problem with a neighbor whose fence encroached onto my lot. I asked the neighbor to move the fence and they decided to hire an attorney rather than simply move the fence. The attorney informed me that not only would the neighbor not move the fence but the land enclosed by the fence was now my neighbors. I spoke with attorneys local to the area and they declined to help due to reputation of the law firm my neighbor had hired. I searched the internet about the law of adverse possession and came across Ms. Walters articles detailing adverse possession and litigation in general. These articles were so well written and so easy to understand that I immediately knew Teri was the attorney I needed. Teri contacted me very quickly and spent a good amount of time with me discussing the case. I felt so relieved after speaking with her. My demeanor changed from very worried that my neighbor would leave the fence on my property to confident that Teri would be able to help me. I felt that this matter would most likely be resolved only in the court and not only was I ready for litigation, I wanted to go to court. Teri kind of walked me back in and explained that we would start with a demand letter and if that didnt work we would go to court. She reminded me that my goal was to have the fence moved and not just to sue. Teri sent my neighbors attorney a demand letter, which was aggressive but courteous and factual. The attorney replied that the fence would be moved right away. I just checked and the fence has been moved. The entire process from contacting Teri to the fence being moved was right at one month. Quite amazing. I had been going back and forth with the neighbor and their attorney on my own for about 6 months. It may appear that a misplaced fence is kind of trivial but the fence in effect shrunk my lot and has prevented me from putting a house on the lot. This caused me unnecessary grief. I am very pleased with the outcome and even more pleased with my experience with the Walter Law Firm. I would like to add that Teri and her associates were responsive to any questions I had. Even more important was how judicious the Walter Law Firm is with time billed to the client. The amount of work put in for each hour billed is more than fair, its a bargain. I will use the Walter Law Firm exclusively for any future legal work.

I called this law firm to ask about Civil Cases. Michael stated how in the state of Texas you need to be represented by an attorney. Although I personally do not live in Texas, that comment didnt sound accurate to me and decided to contact the court directly. The Court did confirm that what he stated was NOT accurate and you can definitely represent yourself. I called Michael back and he started stuttering trying to retract his words and said the Judge would rather see have all parties being represented by an attorney. Anyways.....he lied...RED FLAG. Not getting our Business.

I thought maybe I had a case and called to talk to someone about it. I actually talked to Teri Walter herself. She listened to my story with, what I thought was concern and care, but come to find out it was annoyance! She was extremely rude and short with me afterward. I understand telling me I dont have a case but do it with a little more professionalism next time. Sorry to interrupt your life with YOUR JOB!!!! If I ever do have a case YOU will def NOT be my first or last choice!
