Wildridge’s HOA is a cesspool of 2, unqualified Ashlar employees (finance controller and the office manager) and 1 resident. They have a penchant for arbitrary rules/regulations and selectively choose to ignore the neighborhood governing documents. Their stated mission is to “help preserve the value of your home, privacy and property values”—clearly not true based on my experience. They failed to do their due diligence in approving this unsightly ‘60” therapeutic spa/hot tub on a 6” pad’ and then failed to hold the homeowner accountable to his submission. What was installed was an above ground SWIM spa on a pad that starts at 6” and ends at 30.” This nuisance sits almost 3’ above my fence and looks directly into my backyard and bedroom. These idiots then approved the planting of 3 measly trees (which did not resolve the issue) yet did NOT approve a wooden privacy screen that would have hidden the eyesore. I was told to “wait for the trees to grow.” Several other privacy screens have been approved in the neighborhood. The governing documents clearly state, “No article deemed to be unsightly by the Board will be permitted to remain on any lot so as to be visible from adjoining properties.”The so-called enforcement of rules is inconsistent and capricious. Based on the HOA members’ qualifications and the majority not living in Wildridge, I doubt they understand or care about Wildridge’s Community Wide Standards or Texas Property Code. The exorbitant fees levied by the HOA are a constant source of frustration. Wildridge has some of the most expensive HOA fees ($100/month) for inadequate amenities, unmaintained common areas and an incompetent board. Attached is a picture from March 4, 2024, of the weeds in one such common area.If you value your sanity, privacy and property values, STEER CLEAR OF ANY PROPERTY DEVELOPED OR MANAGED BY ASHLAR. Save yourself the headache and find a community that values transparency, qualify of life, and consistent enforcement of rules – qualities sorely lacking in Wildridge.
Terrible customer service. Ashlar is the developer for our neighborhood in Oak Point, TX and totally dropped the ball on getting us internet at move in. Our entire street has now gone 4 months without internet. My wife and I work exclusively from home and we’ve had to share a mobile hotspot (and we get an average of 1 bar since we’re more secluded). Sounds like it will be up to 3 more months without it! The worst part is Ashlar won’t admit their fault and they’ve shown that they really don’t care about us. They refuse to comp us for the mobile hotspot despite their mistake. I pray that you don’t have to deal with the people here like we have. We will be fighting their further expansion of our neighborhood with city council. They very easily could have avoided this by just comping us, doing the job they were supposed to do in the first place, or doing at least something to try to make it right.
Ashlar, you do build beautiful visually communities, but the lack of support from local reps to ensure current residents have basic necessities like internet set up prior to move in, or in a timely fashion post-move in, is frankly concerning.Ashlar is selling a vision of an idyllic community, but today for many of us - being able to afford this community requires the ability to work from our homes…and that requires internet connectivity.Residents of phase 5 in the Wildridge community haven’t had any internet service for over 3 months now, and were told yesterday that it might be 3 additional months at minimum, and at a developer meeting last night, our concerns and questions (regarding your plans to help get service and reimburse for the incredibly high cost of mobile hotspot usage) were met with dismissal and being laughed at. The only responses we get are shifting of blame to the internet provider, without any effort to own the fact that Ashlar dropped the ball in the development process. We sit here watching your plans for expansion, knowing new residents will be met with pretty homes and walking paths, but no internet service to be able to do our jobs to ensure we can pay for all of it.Ashlar, you have shown a willful disregard for delivering a quality product and your focus seems to be building and selling homes without the infrastructure needed to support them. You have refused to accept responsibility for failing to do your part in insuring availability of utilities and have left homeowners to foot the bill for your oversight.Make it right, or stop expanding until you can.
Multiple communities with the SAME problem. Don’t sell property for homes and businesses that can’t hand the amount of homes. Power out for 6 hours during 100 degree weather on a work day when people work from home with kids home for summer?!?! Unacceptable.
