SavATree - Tree Service & Lawn Care

Raul and team have done excellent work at our home this week. For a day and an half, they worked to take out a giant pine (without a crane + in a very tight area) and then pruned our oak trees for the fall. All done under the guidance of Arborist William M. The whole crew was friendly, conscientious, and professional. We have used SavATree before, and will use them again.

I have used SavATree for many years to maintain the health and beauty of our 130 year old oak tree and its 45 year old baby tree. William Marcum, a staff arborist, is professional and friendly. He provides valuable information about the care of our trees. Every time a team comes to prune our trees they do an excellent job!

Crew arrived on time and was very personable and clean cut. They took down a massive pine up against a fence and pretty close to 2 houses, and the work was excellent. They left me and my neighbors yards clean. Highly recommend.

I have followed Justin Henley from his other company and he was very knowledgeable then. Now that he is a certified arborist and has gone with SavATree I had to call on him again. We have tall pine trees next to our house and had beetles that killed one of them he immediately contacted me back and was out the next day. He assessed our situation and had our one tree removed and the other pines treated. So far he caught it in time as we love our trees. Justin Henley visited with us today regarding our trees. He recommended a treatment plan for the trees we had concerns about as well as an ongoing treatment plan to maintain the health of our other trees. William Marcum is my certified arborist at SavATree. He’s been an outstanding source of advice to save my Japanese Blueberry trees from 2 freezes and 1 drought as well as making recommendations to prune the other trees, all timed perfectly before hurricane Beryl hit. Recently, William’s team trimmed trees and replanted 2 of my crepe myrtles which were uprooted due to the hurricane. They were the best! They took their time with the job and left my yard pristine. Special recognition goes to Cameron who stayed behind to clean up all the mud and muck from the rain and replanting. He went well beyond what was needed and was very patient with my concerns. Do NOT use this company! We agreed to service b/c we hoped to actually save a tree. Unfortunately, no one delivered any service for 5 months and by then the tree had died and fell in a storm. Yet, the company demanded payment for spraying a chemical on 2 other trees PLUS the dead tree that no longer exists. Horrible communication and will make you pay for fiction. Do NOT let them waste your time or money. Go with someone else.

Cody and crew were thorough and efficient with my removal. Cody answered all my questions and confirmed the unhealthiness that caused us to do the removal in the first place. They also satisfied my request to set aside some firewood pieces for me, including some large stumps I wanted for outside stools. They even rolled them into the backyard for me too.

JBs crew did great job. Congratulations to the crew that the told me immediately when a crew working next door broke the power pole so I could get centerpoint on the issue right away. That crew never notified me and did not contact centerpoint. So not only did JBs crew did great work they went the extra step.

Justin did an amazing job. He helped me understand the process, what it would take to complete, and an estimated cost. He not only addressed my immediate concerns he also took time to look at other items on my property to help ensure my trees would thrive.

Today I am adding to my previous review as we have just added another service through this company with Justin Henley! What a great experience! We had some storm damage to a couple of our trees. Cody and his crew knocked out the removal in no time. Very respectful of our property and excellent clean up. My arborist William Marcum at SavATree immediately answered my cry for help with the removal of a dead pine tree that was very close to my home. The crew very efficiently and safely cut it down without a problem. The stump was then ground down below ground level after the City marked the lines. I highly recommend SavATree for tree removal that is done in a very professional manner. My arborist and the assistants in the office was attentive to my questions and concerns. Do not use this place unless you want to get ripped off and have your tree killed. I was taken advantage of and told my tree would be replaced if anything happened to it so I signed up for the program and they killed my tree and then had the nerve to tell me to pay for a new one to get planted. Tried to talk to their office and they didnt care at all or try to offer anything to make it right. I would recommend d Bartlet tree services or literally anyone other than Save a tree.

Cody and crew from SavATree were here today and they were amazing. I had a very large oak tree that was leaning - and the ground was heaving. It had to be removed. They were very safe and took all the precautions. They arrived on time and completed on time. I highly recommend this company and crew!

Cody and crew did a great job trimming reducing my trees. We had the original assessment in August after the hurricane and came up with a plan to reduce the risk of limbs falling in the street or on our house and to reduce the sail of the tree from being as affected by the wind. We schedule for early fall for the least stress on the trees. Cody and crew came out and trimmed 4 of our trees (2 oaks, 1 pine, 1 sweetgum) quickly and efficiently despite tricky and difficult rigging required. Great job and great clean up! Thanks!

A word of warning before hiring Savatree Tree Service and Lawn Care Houston branch. I gave them a $1,000 deposit in July 2024 after Hurricane Beryl, in support of major trimming to be done on my damaged Water Oak tree. The wait time was 4 to 6 weeks. Nothing was scheduled during that time. I reached out again in September (hoping to at least be on the schedule) and was advised still 6 weeks out and they were still not able to give me a date. Finally, I asked for my deposit back due to lack of services rendered. I have still not received the refund. For several weeks I have been advised that the CFO must sign off on it. I am surprised and disappointed in their unprofessional approach to what should have been a prompt and easy resolution.

I have been using SavATree for several years now and have had superb service, great skill, and quick responses to needs after major storms. I highly recommend the company and our Arborist from there, William Marcum.

We have 2, 40 year old oaks in our front yard that greatly add value to our home. We have used SaveATree for years to keep them healthy. When it was time to have them trimmed back from the road and our house , arborist, William Marcum consulted and Jose Luis, with his team, performed the work. Both were very knowledgeable about proper trimming techniques and I do not think a better job is possible. Additionally, William was kind enough to send me information on trimming mature trees that will be invaluable.

Ive used SavATree a few times over the last five years. I recommend them to anyone looking for tree care.When I called for service, they sent Justin to my home within a few days. I have two 40-year-old live oak trees in my backyard. I explained my requirements, and he gave me his recommendations. We agreed on the terms, and in a few weeks, they performed the service. They trimmed both trees to the agreed expectations. They even handled a few extra issues for free that we had not discussed.They used electric and hand tools to trim the trees rather than gas-powered. That may not be the case for every service, but it was nice not to listen to a 2-stroke engine all day.When the job was complete, they invited me to review the work with the crew chief to ensure I was happy. I even received two follow-up calls from Justin and their office to verify that I was pleased with the service.

The office staff is nice, but it’s like talking to a well-mannered AI. They have no-showed twice after I take off work to be home for the appointment.Everything revolves around their scheduling software and when they drop the ball, they don’t call you and try to reschedule and don’t try to fit you in sooner because they made a mistake. You go to the END of the line.I originally scheduled an appointment in the beginning of August and waited a month for the appointment after verifying it was happening a couple days before and receiving the automated message confirming from their system. They no showed and said they had a calendar problem. The best they could do was three weeks later. Begrudgingly, I rescheduled after having taken off and confirming it in advance.Here we are three weeks later at that rescheduled appointment time after I called in the morning to confirm. Guess what, they aren’t coming. They can’t come after he finishes up or some other time in the next day or two.They had the audacity to offer to reschedule a third time for October 15th, after they missed the first two. The lady literally said in a joking tone, “You’re not going to like this, but we could come out on October 15th.”Save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with this company and use someone that will actually show up.They must be buying all these positive reviews…

We have used the services of Arbor Care, the companys name before it became Sav-A-Tree, for years and have been extremely pleased. Justin Hendley was our contact this year when we called for regular pruning and dead limbs from the recent Beryl storm. He arrived and explained a plan and kindly answered all questions providing great knowledge in a very professional, friendly manner. The company added extra crews to meet the increased demand caused by the Beryl storm and we were quickly accommodated by a very professional, skillful crew overseen by Justin. We have no one else touch our trees for work but this company. They are wonderful. On time as promised, efficient, careful, clean up neatly afterwards! Highly recommend them!!

Raol and his team at SavATree did a wonderful tree of cutting down long dead tree branches from my camphor tree and trimming my crepe Myrtle. Which was damaged by Hurricane Beryl. I highly recommend him and his team.

When we needed expert advice on the trees in our yard, some places required you to pay a charge for them to just come by and look at your trees, but SavATree sent out an arborist discussed what we wanted done made recommendations and gave us an estimate for everything needed.This was all done complementary no charges up front!Other companies wanted to charge as much as $90, just to come out and take a look!The price they gave us seemed very reasonable for all that needed to be done!They arrived a few days later removed two trees and trimmed up others, took out a big area of dead (grass like plants} from the front of the house cleaning debris as they went, and hauled everything away!They even took their time and worked around our Tortoise when ever she got in their way, shes very curious!Thank you SavATree for returning our yards to a much more enjoyable space!

Gabriel came to our home to assess the condition of our trees which the builder planted over 2 years ago. The trees were just not progressing as we thought they should. Justin Henley came out to evaluate the trees on my property. He performed a thorough inspection and identified a large tree in my back yard that unfortunately has some serious issues. A company I worked with previously misidentified this tree and also did not catch that it was already compromised and posed a hazard to the electrical lines and structures in and around my property. Justin offered several options for dealing with the issue and worked with me to find the best solution.Justin also came up with a great plan for ensuring my healthy trees can continue to thrive. Justin provided lots of detailed information about each tree and even gave me some advice on how to properly prune my fruit tree.Easy to work with, good communication, and very knowledgeable. If you care about your trees, it is worth finding a certified arborist like Justin!

After being in my home for 20 years we had some overgrowth of several oak trees behind our fence that were giving us way too much shade and leaning over our roof. We also had a maple tree right next to our house that was much taller than the house that was very sick and had quite a bit of rot going on. Because of how close to the home everything was I knew that I had to get somebody who do the job without collateral damage that I would cause. A neighbor of a friend recommended this business so I gave them a call they came out very quickly very professional and knowledgeable and even better got me an estimate that was under my expected budget.Because of the holidays it took a week or two to get a scheduled time however they showed up promptly. We went over everything that was agreed upon and they got to work. I was very impressed with the safety Consciousness and professionalism of the three gentlemen that did the cutting. You could tell they were very knowledgeable and very experienced and they made it look very easy they removed three trees and trimmed three trees and were done and about two and a half hours including all clean up.I will not hesitate to recommend Savatree. They exceeded all my expectations.

I’m in Houston and we have had more than our share of storm damage. William Marcum has been great in getting my trees trimmed with dangerous broken branches. Also had to get multiple stumps removed before fence replacement and guy had to cut up with ax during Saharan dust day and 90 degree temp since stump grinder wouldn’t fit through small space. They go above and beyond.

A specialist for all types of trees, Mike first examines the trees, answers your questions and makes his recommendations. The tree trimming service followed promptly and was carried out professionally by his team, leaving no stumps on the trees and no trash behind. The quote was competitive and very reasonable for the high quality of the service. I am very happy with the service and I highly recommend it!

Our decades, century (?), old oak here in Galveston became distressed after a sidewalk was poured. Justin came out and assessed the situation quickly. Had contacted twice during cleanup from Beryl. They indicated they would promptly get back with me and I never heard. We have been pleased with them in the past but disappointed in customer service. We understand they were very busy but dont promise and not follow up.

Justin helped the girls learn about trees and gave all of us tips and tricks about planting trees that we didn’t know! Overall, working with Justin was such a wonderful experience and with his expertise we know those trees will be there for a long time!

On August 23, 2023, tree arborists with SavATree came to look at my maple and crepe myrtle trees which are not looking too good. The two consultants were very personable, very attentive to the concerns I had about the trees, and very knowledgeable. They described possible reasons for the tree problems and told me what I could do immediately and what I needed to look for next year. This information was invaluable to me because I knew what action to take now and what action not to take to try to save the trees. And there was NO CHARGE for the consultation. There, of course, will be charges for any treatment that may be necessary; but I need to wait until next year to find out what is needed. I felt SavATree put the customer first instead of trying to make a sale even if nothing was needed just now. I would highly recommend SavATree.

Today SavATree continued to impress.. Kennedy and his team planted 8 trees and 3 bushes. Their communications before, during and at the end of the process was excellant. They worked diligently and worked with us as we sorted any issues related to the final placement of the Tresa ans bushes. Previously SavATree worked quickly efficiently and (as always) safe removal of large storm damaged tree branches. Have been using these crews for over 10 years. Great attitude and usually a few familiar faces. Great equipment and much appreciate their safe practices.

I requested a one-time service from SavATree in November 2022 that was performed to the highest of standards. The work authorization included the specific language:Included in this program is 1 service for a total of $311.00.The work authorization document boiler plate language includes the following:To help maintain a vibrant and healthy landscape, your program is considered CONTINUOS. This means that your program will remain in our calendar and automatically renew each year, ensuring ongoing professional care for your property. You can, of course, CANCEL AT ANY TIME BY contacting us.On the 5th January 2023 SavATree contacted me asking if I would like to perform the same service in 2023 and requested If you would like to approve the renewal, please respond to this email I never responded because I didnt want to renew the service as I had found out all I needed.On 7th December 2023 I received an invoice for service performed and this remains unpaid and is being disputed. A few points:(a) There was never an approval granted for the renewal for the service per the January 5th email(b) No email notification for the planned visit,(c) No text notification indicating an imminent visit, and,(d) No phone callHad any of the above occurred that would have allowed the customer to intervene. Indeed a separate attempt to visit my property in December 2023 led to an intervention by me cancelling the visit, and the cancellation was successful.SavATree did not make the necessary notification regarding annual renewals required per Texas law (HB No. 2259). This law addresses annual renewals and requires service provider notification between 90 and 15 days before the anniversary to confirm the renewal and that the details of how a service can be cancelled be provided to the customer.There have been numerous emails with SavATree in relation to this. Beware of these questionable practices and look elsewhere

New to having mature growth trees on property we have been in for a year. Instead of selling me some trimming I dont need, Justin is honest. The trees are in good shape and dont need lion-tailing - instead we will consider quarterly nutrient treatments.

Justin Henley, who is a professional arborist, came out to my home, gave me an honest evaluation of the oak trees in my back yard, and did not charge me for this service. I appreciate his straightforward advice and clear answers.

The arborists are certified and trained professionals with deep knowledge of trees and shrubs--their look and growth rate, their diseases and appropriateness for a changing climate. The actual work has been excellent and exactly what I requested. I have a lot of respect for this team.

CJ’s crew removed quite a few trees from my yard. They were finished within the day and left the yard cleaned as expected.

I was very impressed with every level of organization this job had from scheduling to clean up. I will not use anyone else for tree services going forward. These people are safe, thorough and very good at what they do.

These guys know what they are taking about! I had an appointment with William Marcum and he was very detailed and knowledgeable and spent time answering all my questions. He was able to diagnose the problem with my poor pecan trees with too much soil at the base and propse a course of action. I am looking forward to working with this company.

Glen Ginzel visited with us about concerns we had over our water Oak. He was so knowledgeable, professional and answered all our questions. We consider him our “tree guy” now and should we ever have other needs in regard to our trees, we won’t hesitate to call him and SavaTree again!

After meeting with the arborist, I had two trees removed and six trimmed. Four of the trees were terribly overgrown and the crew completely transformed them. So much so, that my neighbor used them to trim their trees. One of the stumps was encircled by gas lines, cable, sprinkler, etc. yet they did a thorough job grinding the stump and I didnt lose any services.Both crews were very skilled, professional and prompt.Arbor Care was not the lowest bid I received but the level of service was well worth the extra money.

On Monday I arranged an appointment with them that Friday to quote on a tree removal at a time convenient to them. I made sure I arranged to be available to meet with them at that time. No show. No call. Called their office, to be told the arborist was very ill and didnt his assistant call you? His assistant did not call. They then asked if they could move the appointment (which had already passed), except they could now only accommodate us in two weeks time. Poor management!

William Marcum from SavATree was very professional and knowledgeable. William was very thorough with answering my questions about a tree and provided solutions for the situation. Would highly recommend for your tree care needs.

I had three small trees removed and a very large live oak trimmed and crown cleaned. The crew arrived about 8 am and got to work immediately. They were gone by 11. They did a beautiful job - my oak tree looks so much better. I have had it crown cleaned before at twice the cost charged by Arbor Care. I also changed which three small trees were to be be removed a couple times and Neville was always polite and calm in making the necessary revisions. As an experienced homeowner who has to hire many services, I highly recommend Arbor care, Inc. and will have my tree cleaned annually from here on. They raked the lawn and blew the driveway so my yard has no debris at all. Beautiful job!!

Great information as to what my tree issue was but terrible on follow though with the service. They came at the beginning of June and recommended anti-fungal treatment. Still no call to set up a time or any communication as to when this will happen.

We have an old Post Oak tree which has been dropping leaves since June which is earlier than normal. I had three consultations, and three different opinions. What I can say about Arbor Care is that JT returned my call within an hour. He was not pressuring us to have treatments other than the one that he recommended. They scraped the fungus areas out and then treated the tree. He did recommend a pruning, however, we have opted to wait before we have that done. I would highly recommend Arbor Care for those trees that you love your trees!

Cam was very professional. He showed me some issues that I was beginning to have with some roots on one of my trees He took care of the problem. And explained what to watch for in the future.Excellent service 👍

Very happy with services provided -- Chris and myself walked thru 6 trees to be trimmed. He sent a detailed itemized report of work to be done on each tree. Three man crew come [one was a working foreman]. We walked thru and discussed each item on the work order. The crew communicated and worked well as a team -- asking input on certain issues that came up. When they left the yard was cleaner than when they arrived. Trees ranger fron 40ft to 25ft.regardsjlb

It was a Nightmare dealing with this company.I spent over $1,100 with SavATree and it was a nightmare.I asked the crews not to come when I was out of town. The crews came anyway. They did not respect my opinions. I checked on my tree and there was not any branches removed as they promised. The branches that crossed over were still there. Then, I checked my Google camera for what their crews did. The crew came and pruned the tree for about an hour. Then, they all lied down and took a long siesta. I paid $1,100 for one hour of work and 4 hours of siesta.I will not be their repeat customer again. NO WAY. Dont waste your money

The team that showed up were courteous and dependable, careful to confirm before cutting anything, which is really important to us in The Woodlands. They also did a careful job cleaning up afterward, equally important. The supervisor visited the site during work to ensure all work was done as promised.

I called to discuss installation of new trees, trimming of existing trees, treatment, and a few removals… But they did not seem interested at all in my business. It was probably a large job as I have 5 acres. I wouldn’t waste my time with them if I were you, as it seems they have more business than they can handle at this time. Or maybe they just don’t care.

The arborists were so great, they explained how they would trim the tree and why they were trimming the branches they did. I use them for trimming & fertilization annually. They have also planted a tree for us and removed a dead pine. The clean up after tree trimming & removal is always great. Highly recommend.

Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere (local). Im a long time Arbor Care customer, but since they were bought by SavaTree, the timing and customer service is terrible. The guy who did our tree root fertilization and fungicide was great. Everyone else in that company is useless.

Nevillemann is a very nice gentleman and very caring about my landscaping. The people before us used someone and they had to big of spikes and introduced bacteria into one of my palm trees so they came and removed the tree. Using them again to trim two 60 foot palms next month. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.Thanks Nevillemann

I have used Arbor Care for many years calling on them to check on the health of our trees and occasionally to remove a tree and stump grind. I had them do the latter recently. Their quote was 20% less than others, the work was done as scheduled, and the folks doing the work were friendly and professional.

Worked with these guys for years and will refer them to residential and commercial. Have tried other companies based on where my familys homes were located thinking I could get someone from that side of town (Clear Lake/Midtown/Conroe) well the other companies did not do as well as Arbor Care has. I have great trees with great shaped Canopies because of the maintenance plan these Guys & Gals have helped me plan. Thank you Arbor Care Inc and I shall be calling again for the fall planning.

This cos crew did excellent work in short order. I have an incredibly tall palm tree that sheds its berries right over and into my pool. Its probably 30 ft high or more. They took care of it with no problems. Ill be using them from now on. I highly recommend!

The work was good, fast and they cleaned up pretty well. I took off one star for value. I assume I misunderstood the extent of the pruning that would be done since the service did not meet my expectations for the price. I have no other concerns with the company, the reps, or service personnel.

Hired to cut back a magnolia tree, prune ligustrum and prune a live oak. Very happy with the results. Really cleaned up the backyard. What I appreciated the most -- they showed up and immediately went to work. The crew of three took less than two hours to do what would have taken me probably a week to do. I actually tipped them twice (I always tip once, even if work is subpar). Will definitely hire them again.

We have used them twice. Once they thinned out a gum tree and an oak tree behind the house to make them a lesser hurricane damage threat and another to remove from next to the house a palm killed by the cold. Both jobs were done with dispatch and neatly and in a timely manner.

Their rep came out 10-18-2018 and gave me a fair quote. Said they were about 2 weeks behind and would notify me to schedule... after 18 days of waiting, I cancelled.... used them in the past and JT was awesome, the guy that services our new location, not so much....Edit:10-20-2019When told a 2 week wait for a start date, and day 18 comes with no reach out from your “salesman” or any other rep from the company and your reply is that’s how the business is as if I should understand.... make me understand BY CALLING me and HELP me understand....

Dont think we will use them again. They sent us a letter offering a discount. I missed the deadline by two days and called in to see if they would make an exception. Nope. So I called back a few days later and asked to speak to a supervisor. I figured I would give it another try to ask for an exception. It was not a huge discount like hundreds of dollars or anything. After explaining why I was calling, I was put on hold AT LENGTH by the receptionist. I hung up and decided it wasnt worth it. So way to go guys! You lost my business that is worth thousands of dollars in the long run. I wont refer any of my friends your way. And now you have a 1 star review on Google which is one of the first things people see when searching for your company. All over a discount that would have set you back less than $100. Have a nice day!!!!!

Killed my tree. Good luck trying to get these guys on the phone, and if you do, you wont hear back from them. I had tree that was dying and reached out to these guys for help. One of their sales managers came by my house while I wasnt there dropped a business card at the door. I called him a few times, left voice mails, call the office again, and still no reply. Now I have a dead tree. Thanks, Arbor Care!! Zero stars.

I highly recommend this company before any of your tree needs. They came today to cut down a large tree that was in a difficult area but they were so efficient and knowledgeable about how to do it. They were pleasant and cleaned up my yard as if they were never here.. they even cleaned the street! Very pleased customer who will definitely call again!

Very safe, helpful and informative. Started off helping me get rid of some old ash trees. Ended up grinding stomps, planting a tree and even helping me learn how to maximize the use of all my excess lumber.

Expert arborist came out and evaluated my trees. Workman came out on time and fertilized and put insecticide in the ground that my trees have already responded to with green leaves. Excellent value and professionalism.

Worse service ever. I scheduled them for an estimate and we ended up hiring someone else and guy started using inappropriate words loudly and left. I was just shocked as never seen this kind of service before. I would give less than 1 start if there is an option. Dont hire them specially if only lady is going to be at home.
